Aliceinwhumperland prompted: "Please, have a seat. This might be difficult to hear."

Virgil gulped and visibly paled at the doctor's words. He looked across to his brother.

All the colour had drained from Scott's face.

They sat and Virgil couldn't help but notice his brother had a white-knuckle grip on the chair and was biting his lip.

He'd all but forced him here after a series of infections had wiped Scott out so completely he just couldn't seem to get better.

'This might be very hard for you to hear, Mr Tracy,' the man repeated but Scott just smiled at the man. It was more like a grimace. Virgil reached across and squeezed his shoulder.

'Hit me with it, Doc,' Scott quipped. The man smiled and gave a small chuckle.

'There's nothing wrong with you that a good couple weeks of rest and relaxation couldn't cure.

'You're just burnt out, Mr Tracy.'

Scott blinked rapidly as he took that information in.

Virgil snorted. Then a giggle escaped him. He clutched his sides as he began full-on laughing.

His brother turned to him, a look of betrayal on his face.

Virgil laughed harder.
