The Carousel Murders
Chapter Eight
Leroy Jethro Gibbs stood watching the woman work on the communications officer Jake Morrison wearing all white for the most part.
She was able to finish up after placing the items that were found in the stomach contents and giving them to her assistant. "Take these items to the lab Lisa?" she tells the younger woman to take the items out of the autopsy bay.
Jack Sloane knew that Gibbs was watching her work. "What is going on Doctor Sloane with the results?" he asked in a soft tone of voice to his former girlfriend.
She turns to face the older man with more wrinkles showing on his face. "Thanks for coming anyway, Gibbs. Communications officer Morrison died from the first Magnum bullet hitting the right side of his cerebrum. Otherwise, Naval Intelligence will find this interesting with his stomach contents filled with small pieces of guns and most of all cocaine in small amounts." she advised with a slight cough needing some water that was sitting on the table behind her.
"How is this possible Doctor Sloane?" Gibbs says with a change in his position and his legs.
She had finished up the last of the cold water to feel better with her throat. She turns to say the following to the one man she didn't wish to continue hating after six months of walking away from him in Alaska. "It's not my job to know this Gibbs. It's NCIS to find out why this was happening to him with being murdered." she cried out to have him cringe slightly.
"Very true, Jack. Otherwise, Naval Intelligence and Leon Vance need the answers quickly before all this blows up into their faces," he remarked.
"Gibbs, there is something else you need to know," she tells him to wake up a little.
"What's that Doctor Sloane?" he moved in closer to her as she backed away from him. She didn't want him to touch her to have her mental esteem break down.
Coughing a little before answering him. "Communications Officer Jake Morrison was dying from bone marrow cancer that had him only lasting a year or less. Either way, he died nevertheless from the bullet or the cancer." she hissed slightly with some emotion etched on her face.
"Damn," he says strongly with the curse.
"Exactly right, Jethro," she remarked giving him her report that was going to be sent to Naval Intelligence and most of all NCIS.
With a shake of his head with stood against the wall for the moment. "I just don't understand this at all Doctor Sloane. Why is this man and the other having been targeted for the most part to have the other man killed?" he tells her moving over to the coffee machine on the table needing his usual caffeine after the long flight.
Jack decided to make a move on him right now before it was too late. "Jethro." she will say his name to have the older man alerted of her movements.
"What is it Doctor Sloane?" he cries out taking a long sip of his black coffee.
She moved closer into his personal space before she began to talk to him. "I AM SORRY!" She replies by placing a hand on his right shoulder having to be truly firm.
This is when they both connected with a bruising kiss along with their heart rates rising...
