After a while, both Heinz and Vanessa finally got to their hotel during late night hours, which was pretty nice by the way. Heinz noticed that aside from some stores, not much of his city has changed since the last time he was there, and that was a very long time ago. Since the family reunion wouldn't be until two days starting from that day, he and Vanessa had enough time to explore how his childhood city has changed, even though he really doubted to see that much.

He finally got to his room, which was adjacent to the one Vanessa was staying in, as they both decided to be on separate rooms. Heinz desperately wanted to wind down for the day, as he was still a bit shaky at the thought that he was going to see his parents again, but of course, he had to take out his pajamas and some other stuff that he might need. He then opened his suitcase, and then…

Heinz suddenly exclaimed: "Perry the Platypus?!".

The aquamarine blue Platypus had decided to tag along to the mad scientist's trip in order to keep an eye on him so he wouldn't do one of his usual dastardly (and pretty petty) deeds, as he pretty much had a bit of free time ever since he finished most of his missions, one of them being taking care of the Flynn-Fletcher family, especially the younger one, Phineas, of whom he had developed a fondness for.

Heinz was actually pretty happy to see the platypus, but was also pretty startled by his unexpected appearance. That didn't stop him from telling him about how he was happy to see him.

"However" he added ", we can't let Vanessa know that you're here! This is supposed to be a short family trip!"

Perry the Platypus just stared with a mild frown. He wanted to know everything. As he was already a bit stressed from having to see his parents in a few days (and not wanting to get in an argument with the platypus), he eventually revealed to him that he was on a trip to a family reunion. That made the Platypus recall all of Doofenshmirtz's pity stories to explain his weekly schemes during that summer; by this point, he didn't know if he should believe him.

"Yeah, I know you might be thinking about all of those stories I told you", said Heinz to the blue platypus, "but don't think about them right now! This is way more serious than any of the silly ideas I had at the time!"

Perry decided to just tag along to the doctor's wishes, so he took out a little costume that he could use to blend in more easily with the crowd, something that satisfied Heinz to a degree.

After finally having taken a shower and brushed his teeth, the doctor was laying in his bed, exhausted from the plane trip, though he was still a bit unnerved by the memory he had at the plane; despite that, he told himself to calm down and go to sleep, and that tomorrow will be a new day, enough for him to think about the whole situation better.

Author's Note: Yep, this is the first time I'm doing this. Sorry if I took too long to upload this chapter. I'll have to admit that not only does school gets in my way, but also my other interests, which also involve writing scripts, drawing and also attempting to upload content for my YouTube channel. With that, it makes it difficult me to both concentrate on this and answering your messages; however, I'm fully committed to finish this fic, because I don't want to be one of those authors that leave their fics incomplete (like that one guy who made an Arthur Fanfic about D.W. being kidnapped and returning as an adult years later, which causes Arthur to track down her kidnapper, who has spend like I think 12 years without updating it for some reason). Anyways, I hope you understand and that you have nice day.
