After finally snoozing off, Heinz woke up… in the dark of 2:30 AM. After trying to conceal some more sleep, he just couldn't, so he decided to just stand up… to which he noticed that he was no longer in his hotel room, but in a strange room that seemed oddly familiar. It was his childhood bedroom from way back then!
Heinz was pretty dumbfounded as to why he was there, so he decided to get out of there to see what else he could find. Upon opening the door, it didn't lead to the hallway of his bedroom, he instead found a bunch of trees… big, spooky trees, which made him realize he was in the middle of the woods. He immediately grabbed a lantern that conveniently just besides him on the floor and went on to explore to see what he could find. Once he got out, he found a bunch of small footsteps on a trail. He decided to follow them and went on, leading to the forest becoming darker and darker the more he got inside it; he also started to notice a small noise in the distance, and it got louder and louder, revealing that it was a child crying, which made him look for it. He eventually saw that the noises led to a small bush; he got closer to see what was behind it, and he saw that it was…
His younger self, who became a bit startled upon seeing his older self. Not wanting to reveal who he was, he decided to pass himself as a complete stranger.
"What's wrong, dear child?" asked Heinz to his younger self. "Why are you crying in the middle of the woods?"
"He's after me!" yelled his younger self, "this is the only place where he might not find me".
"Who?", asked Heinz.
At that moment, he heard giant footsteps coming. He turned around to see a creepy shadow lurking, and when he shined his lantern, he saw it was a horrifying ogre. It was extremely tall, with a brown beard, with a hairstyle that looked like it was shaved by an unprofessional; it looked familiar, or rather, awfully familiar.
"Heinz", screamed the ogre, "where are you, you stupid gnome? My garden got ruined and you were supposed to take care of it! You deserve a beating!"
Heinz realized why his younger self was hiding. The ogre was a mental representation for his father, the person who was the harshest towards him. The man he was the most afraid of during his childhood. He didn't have any second thoughts before he grabbed his younger self's arm and eventually went running as fast as they could so they could escape the ogre. At that moment, he didn't see where he was going and they came across the edge of a clip that seemed to lead to a canyon with no visible end. He turned around to see his younger self.
"We must be very careful here! One of us could fall down you know" Heinz says. He knows they can't turn around, or things could get worse.
They then proceeded calmly walk the edge carefully. It all went well, until the ogre finally found them and without thinking it twice, he followed them. Heinz just got more scared, and so did his younger self. They tried to hurry the pace of their walking, but the ogre just got closer and closer, which caused the ground to tremble and show cracks. This caused all three of them to slip down to the edge of the cliff.
At that moment, Heinz woke up on his hotel bed. It was clearly a dream, yet he was still panting out of shock. He looked out the window and he saw that it was already morning.
"Well then, I guess I should get up now" he told himself.
