The mech carrying Nathan, Lloyd, and the others rushed down the man-made path alongside the mountain. Bouncing around from the mech's running, Lloyd shakily turned his head and looked towards the top of the mountain. The peak was far past the clouds. This caused unease in Lloyd, and Sensei Garmadon could see this. "Do not worry." The old martial arts master assured his son. "I promise, we will get you and Nathan to the top of that mountain. Only the three of you boys can find out what powers that temple has in store for you." Lloyd nodded. While his father's confidence was a kind sentiment, his worry about the Nindroids stopping them trumped any of his other emotions.
Nindroid blasts began to wiz past the mech. Jaune looked behind him to see the Nindroids using their jet shoes to fly toward them. With his quick thinking, Jaune pulled out his shield and began to move it around to try and block the blasts from striking everyone. "Great, these guys again!" Jaune spouted in annoyance.
Nathan was beginning to get impatient. Every second they spent trying to get away from the Nindroids was a second spent not reaching the temple and trying to save me. "Forget this!" Nathan angrily shouted. He adjusted the mech controls to start running towards the mountain. "Everyone better hang on!" the Ninja warned. Moving the mech quickly, but carefully, Nathan began traversing the mountain.
Though they were now making headway towards the temple, Cryptor and his army followed close behind. "You cannot escape us, Ninja! The Destroyer will be victorious!" Cryptor taunted. Many of the Nindroids' blasts began hitting right next to the mech. Several large bursts of debris from these hits on the mountain began to cover the mech. "Destroy the mountainside if need be!" Cryptor ordered. "They cannot reach that temple!"
The Nindroid blaster fire began to increase, only now they were specifically aiming at the mountainside to try and get the mech to fall. Large boulders began to slide down the mountain, with one of them falling towards the mech. "Look out!" called Blake. A blonde streak jumped from the mech, and punched the boulder, causing it to crumble into dust. It was Yang!
Yang landed safely back on the mech and gave Nathan a thumbs up. However, even with Yang's help, boulders were still falling toward the mech, and the Nindroid blaster fire was increasing. "We can't keep this up," Weiss told the others.
"You're right." Ruby nodded. "We've got to take the fight to them." She reached around her back and activated her scythe.
"You saw how strong they are!" Jaune stated. "We can't beat them."
"That's the point. We just have to hold them back long enough for Nathan and Lloyd to get to the temple. They need to get Hunter back here! So, who's with me?" She looked around at the others. The rest of team RWBY, Pyrrha, Ren, and Nora agreed.
Everyone's attention turned to Jaune. "This is a horrible idea. But these guys need to get up there as soon as possible, so…. I'm in." Jaune pulled out his sword.
The eight of them jumped off the mech, and down towards the Nindroids. While their weapons did not hurt the Nindroids, their tactics were effective. Ruby was using her semblance to fly around and hit each Nindroid, causing them to lose their directional momentum and crash into the mountain. The Nindroids may be strong, but teams RWBY and JNPR were more determined. One-by-one the Nindroids were being sent back down the mountain.
Cryptor, trying his best to avoid the two teams, was stopped by Ruby. She tried to kick Cryptor's face but was blocked by the flat end of one of his katanas. She pointed her scythe at him, with the barrel of her gun a few inches away from his head. "This is for Hunter." She spoke to him. Pulling her trigger, a bullet shell shot right into Cryptor's head. While the bullet may have bounced off, the momentum of the bullet sent Cryptor several feet back. Ruby jumped back and landed on a small cliff on the mountainside. Standing tall next to her was the rest of her team and team JNPR.
"You think a few bullets will stop us?" Cryptor glared at the young girl. Several of his Nindroids rose along his side. "Nothing can penetrate our armor, and nothing can stop us." He unsheathed his other katana and pointed them at the eight teenagers. "My soldiers will make quick work of you children. I will face the Ninja myself." He snapped his metallic fingers together, and the Nindroids began to fly rapidly toward the two teams. Done watching, Cryptor looked up to see the mech several thousands of feet above him crawling towards the peak of the mountain. Not wasting any more of his time, he flew off towards the mech.
Nathan was moving the mech as quickly as he could. "Hopefully those guys can buy us enough time," Lloyd said. "You've got this, Nathan! I know you'll get us to the top!" He patted the top of his mech. The Master of Water smiled, nodded, and continued climbing up the mountain.
They were getting ever so closer to the top of the mountain when suddenly, the mountain began to flatten. The mech crawled up onto the flat rocky landscape, and the Sensei jumped off, leaving only Lloyd and Nathan on the mech. "Look." Sensei Garmadon said getting the others' attention. He pointed to a large stone door, with carvings covering it. With black tops, two tall red columns stood on either side of the door.
"This is it," Nathan spoke in awe, getting out of the mech. "This is the Temple of the Creator!"
Lloyd jumped off the mech and stood next to Nathan. "Well, what are we waiting for?" He asked. The two Ninja and Sensei ran to the temple doors.
As the four approached the door, a plume of light blue smoke exited underneath the door. As the smoke cleared, two masked figures in conical straw hats and purple robes with shining metallic blue dragons on them. The masks they wore resembled those of foxes. "Kitsune," Wu whispered to his brother.
"We are the guardians of this temple." One of the two boomed. "Leave this place, and never return, or we shall make you leave."
"Please." Nathan stepped forward. "We are descendants of the Creator and First Spinjitzu Master. You must let us in. My brother, the future Creator, is in danger and we must save him."
"Nice try, ninja." The other glared at Nathan. "We encounter many people claiming that they are descendants of our former master. As we have already stated: leave here and never return."
Nathan was getting upset. "No! We've come too far! I'm getting my brother back! I won't abandon him!"
The two guardians clapped their hands, causing blue smoke to surround them. Bo staffs appeared in both of their hands and the two made the same fighting stance with the staffs pointed at the four. "So be it." The guardians spoke in unison.
"We will handle this." Sensi Wu used his staff to move Lloyd and Nathan out of his way so that he and Garmadon would be in front of them. Garmadon and Wu also both got into the same fighting stance.
"Just like the old days, ay brother?" Garmadon smiled at his brother.
"Just like the old days." Wu smiled back. Without hesitation the guardians jumped with their staffs above their heads, preparing to strike the two old men. The two Sensei both jumped on either side of their staff. It was the two Sensei's turn. The two swung their staffs at the guardians. The guardians both blocked the attack, but the Sensei was so strong, that they were both sent back. Both guardians' backs collided with one another and the two fell to the ground.
"Ninja go!" Both Sensei shouted as they transformed into miniature tornados. The two Spinjitzu tornados began to rapidly circle the guardians. A large dust tornado began to form. Suddenly, the guardians' feet began to leave the ground; before the two knew it, they were floating in the air.
"Now boys!" Lloyd and Nathan heard Garmadon call to them. Lloyd and Nathan ran to the columns of the temple and used them to jump above the large dust tornado. Now above the guardians, Lloyd summoned green balls around his hands and Nathan balls of water around his. Below the masks, the guardians' eyes widened. Lloyd and Nathan fell quickly toward the ground and each used their elemental powers to punch the guardians in their faces. The two guardians crashed into the ground, and Sensei Wu and Garmadon ceased their Spinjitzu. Lloyd and Nathan landed gracefully next to the Sensei, and the four watched as the two guardians painfully began to get up.
One of the guardians began to laugh, and then the other joined in. "We haven't been beaten that badly in centuries." A guardian said to the four. "You truly are the descendants of the Creator and First Spinjitzu Master, as we suspected."
"Wait, you knew we were their descendants?" Lloyd questioned. "Then why did you fight us and not let us in."
"We just wanted to make sure that you four were ready for the journey ahead. Next to the Destroyer, we are some of the most powerful beings, and although we did not fight you at full strength. Your teamwork, not as masters and students, but as allies has brought us some hope for the future of every dimension."
"Please, Wu, Garmadon, Lloyd, and Nathan, enter the temple. I'm sure Hunter will join us soon." The guardians snapped their fingers and a purple glow emitted around the edges of the temple doors. Without anyone pushing on them, the doors began to open. Behind them was utter darkness.
"You want us to go in there?" Nathan asked sheepishly.
"I assure you it is safe." One of the guardians gestured for them to walk into the temple.
"It won't be for long!" Shouted a mechanical voice from the edge of the mountain. They all turned to see General Cryptor standing there, katanas in hand. "You four will not make it into that temple alive." Cryptor activated his jet boots and rocketed towards the ninja. The two guardians jumped in front of the four and shot a blast of air at Cryptor. The force of the air overpowered Cryptor and sent him back. Cryptor crashed into the ground and rolled until he was at the edge of the mountain's cliff.
"Quickly, get inside!" One of the guardians ordered. The four ran inside the temple, and the two guardians followed behind. "Close the doors!" The shouted. Out of the darkness, more people matching the look of the two guardians appeared and began to push the door closed.
An enraged Cryptor looked up to see the doors closing. "NO!" He cried out. He reactivated his jet boots and went as quickly as he could towards the doors. The guardians put every ounce of strength they had into closing the doors quickly. Cryptor grew closer to the door, he waved his katanas back, ready to swing at whoever was in front of him. Lloyd, Nathan, and the two Sensei began to help the other guardians close the door. With one strong push, they all slammed the temple doors shut. Cryptor stopped just inches away from the door and slashed it with his katanas, but didn't even leave a mark. With the purple glow fading from the edges of the door, the temple was officially closed off. Cryptor screamed in rage. "Mark my words, Ninja! I will get in there, and today will be the day of the Destroyer!"
Inside the temple, only two large candelabras illuminated the area. The rest of the room was in utter darkness. "You four will wait here." A guardian spoke to the four. "Hunter should be here soon. Only then can destiny truly be enacted." The four nodded, and the guardians walked off and faded into the darkness.
Outside the temple, Cryptor frustratingly glared at the door. He threw a small pad onto the ground and began to bow. A hologram appeared from the small pad. In this hologram sat a creature, whose eyes, clawed feet, and long tail could be seen. It was the Destroyer. "My lord. The Ninja have entered the temple. I fear as if Hunter will join them soon." Cryptor spoke to the Destroyer.
"He is growing more powerful." The Destroyer's deep voice spoke. "He managed to defeat the Nindroids and save his friend in the Voltron dimension. I will no longer send my forces after him. I am now sending them to you. You will lead them into the temple, and defeat the Ninja before destiny gives them the power to defeat me."
"Defy destiny, my lord?"
"Yes, if I am to be victorious, I only have a few more chances to stop the boy and win this war between him and me. Sadly, I am still not at my full strength to fight him. The Nindroids will arrive shortly. Be ready."
"How will I enter the temple?" Cryptor asked his master.
"There is put a protective seal around it. The Nindroids will just have to blast it long enough, you will be able to enter the temple."
"Yes, Destroyer. We will break through and defeat the Creator and his usurpers once and for all!" Cryptor stood up triumphantly.
"I hope so Cryptor, for your sake." The Destroyer's hologram disappeared, and Cryptor reached down to pick up the pad.
"Sir, we've captured the teenagers." A Nindroid soldier told the General from behind. Cryptor turned to see cuffed members of teams RWBY and JNPR being flown up by Nindroids.
"You won't win! The Ninja will stop you!" Ruby shouted at him.
"We will see about that, little girl." Cryptor chuckled at her. "The Ninja's days, have just become numbered." Cryptor began to laugh maniacally as swarms of Nindroids began to fly around the mountain and surround the temple. I have to move quickly if destiny were to prevail…
