Part 1: White Clouds
The Mighty Oozaru
It was late into the night, as a familiar group of people were making their way back to their houses after a night of chatting and catching up. Though the subjects tended to get out of hand.
"A tomato is a fruit! It has seeds in them! Fruits have seeds, vegetables have roots! Tomatoes have seeds!"
Floyd just shook his head and rubbed his temples. "Hellen, I'm not in the mood to argue anymore. You win, okay? Can we move on?"
Hellen huffed and placed her hands on her hips. "Yes, I am right! But let me explain very clearly why I'm right! You started this damn argument, now finish it! Tess, back me up!"
A new woman to the group was a scholar named Tess. She had long black hair and green eyes, and was quietly hugging her book to her chest and pushed up her glasses. "I think it's best that I do not get involved…"
Jacob sighed and brushed his bangs out of his face before looking at the empty bottle in his hand. "I'm not drunk enough for this. Maybe I can find more-"
RRRRROOOOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRR!
The group all froze as Tess frantically looked around. "What in the world was that?!"
She then noticed how shaken the rest of them were and shook Hellen. "Hey, what's going on? You're freaking me out!"
They all knew exactly what that roar was as John slowly looked behind him and his eyes widened. "Shit…"
Hellen also turned to face the thing she feared was there and Tess looked to where everyone else was looking and her pupils shrunk in fear as she clutched her book tighter.
"What in Sothis's name is that?!"
But everyone else had a much different question as Jacob gritted his teeth as he looked up in the sky to see the moon shining down. "Who the hell let her look at the full moon?!"
"What? Full moon? What are you talking about?"
"Damn it Jeralt!" Hellen growled, looking at the giant beast who was roaring and pounding it's chest… but then she saw the mob of wolves and hawks approaching and she turned to the Monastery. "The knights! We have to help them, they can't fend off the horde by themselves!"
"What about Byleth?" John asked but Hellen shook her head.
"Forget her! Hopefully Jeralt is out there already, and he can hold her off! But the knights aren't prepared for a horde this big, we have to help!"
She then turned to Tess and placed her hands on her shoulders. "Can you fight?"
"Byleth? Jeralt? I don't know-"
"Can. You. Fight?!" Hellen asked and snapped Tess out of her trance and nodded.
"A-A little magic. Mostly electric based spells."
"Good enough." Hellen grabbed Tess' hand and the group ran towards their houses to grab their equipment and Hellen looked behind her shoulder seeing the girl as this beast once again.
'You better hold her off Jeralt… we can't help you this time.'
"THAT'S BYLETH?!" Catherine screeched, as the deafening roars Byleth sounded in the distance.
"You can freak out later!" Jeralt yelled, taking off from the ground. "We have to keep her away from the Monastery!"
Shamir gritted her teeth in frustration and took off after Jeralt with Seteth getting on his wyvern and looking up at Byleth.
"This is completely unheard of… but they're right. Maybe we can get through to her. But judging by the way she's acting, I'm not sure that we can…"
As he took off, leaving Alois and Catherine behind, with the trio flying up to meet the giant monkey face to face as Shamir looked to Jeralt.
"You got any ideas?!"
But before he could answer, Byleth growled loudly when she saw them and clapped her hands together in an attempt to squash them like a bug, but Jeralt yelled at them to duck at the last second and narrowly avoided a gruesome death. "We need to distract her! Fire attacks at her! We can't let her go to the Monastery!"
Seteth charged forward on his wyvern and thrusted his spear at her arm… only for it to snap completely and he stared at it in shock. "That attack did nothing?"
"Nothing can hurt her!" Jeralt shouted, shooting out Ki blasts to get Byleth's attention as she turned around and tried swatting at the flyers who dodged out of the way. "Good news for us, is that she acts like a wild animal! She's not smart in this form, and she's slow and clunky! If we can keep her distracted, then we have a shot!"
"Right, keep her distracted… that sounds simple enough." Seteth muttered, but couldn't shake the feeling of fear that went through his mind. If even just one of her mighty hands hit him, he was a goner. They had to be careful.
Meanwhile, back on the ground, Alois pulled out his axe and looked to his fellow knight.
"Right Catherine! It's time to take up arms! We must defend Lady Rhea at all costs!"
"Captain, no offence, but what can we do against THAT?!" Catherine exclaimed, throwing her hands up at the giant monkey. "It's twice as big as Garreg Mach! Thunderbrand will be a toothpick to it!"
"You know 'it' has a name." Alois glared. "She's Byleth. The same woman we have known. She is no less different as a giant beast than when she was human. But she isn't in the right state of mind right now, and we need to try and coax her back. And we need you."
Catherine stared up at Byleth for a few seconds before sighing loudly. "You're right… dammit, you're always right. So where do we begin?"
"By getting her to turn away from the Monastery. It's just a shame we couldn't find the House Leaders, but we will have to postpone that mission."
But then they heard panting and yelling from behind and Catherine let out a low chuckle as she picked up her sword. "I think we can consider the mission a success now…"
As in the distance, Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude were sprinting as if their lives depended on it. And judging by where they were, that was most definitely the case. But they were scared senseless from what they saw.
Edelgard thought she had seen everything from being experimented on. She thought she saw what most people wouldn't be able to even imagine when she was a child. Oh, how wrong she was.
Dimitri was speechless. He knew of the legends of the Moon Beast. The fact that not only was it real, but it was one of the people he looked up to made his head spin.
Claude, though he was scared out of his mind, kind of expected something like this. It just added up too much. Byleth's unlike anyone he had met before, this giant monkey transformation was just another unique thing he could jot down. She was just so fascinating… when she wasn't absolutely terrifying.
They all ran to Alois and Catherine and started yelling and babbling at what they saw and the two knights were feeling overwhelmed as they tried to calm the students down.
"Settle down, you three. Deep breathes. You're safe now." Catherine said as they all did as she was told and calmed down a little. "Look, while I'm glad you're all safe, I'm afraid we don't have time to celebrate, as I'm sure you can see."
They all looked up at Byleth swinging her arms wildly, trying to hit the three flyers who kept her away from the Monastery. Edelgard had her hand to her chest and gulped. "Professor…"
But then they all saw Byleth charging a Ki blast from her mouth and fired it at the ground, tearing up the terrain around her, with the force causing the trio to get tossed away onto the ground as Seteth managed to prevent his wyvern from crashing. "She's strong… and very unpredictable. How do we stop her?"
Nobody had an answer, but then Claude spoke up. "When we were trapped, her tail was acting a lot more wilder than usual when exposed to the moon. Maybe that's the source? So if we remove it, then she might turn back to normal."
Catherine had a grin on her face as she gripped Thunderbrand tightly. "Sounds like a plan to me! You all distract her and I'll go in for-"
"Out of the question."
Everyone turned to Jeralt with a bewildered expression. Was he serious?! They had an option to take down Byleth and he was saying no to it?
"Hey, Papa Teach!" Claude yelled. "What are you doing?"
"Do you have concrete proof that cutting off her tail would do that?" Jeralt asked sternly which caused Claude to stop in his tracks.
"Well… no."
"And do you know how traumatising it would be to her if she lost it?"
"Well-"
"Because it's like me going up to you, and cutting off one of your limbs."
Everyone now understood what he meant. Monster or not, they couldn't do that to Byleth. They knew how much she used her tail and to actually remove it would cause long term effects that could permanently damage her mentally. So Claude relented and scratched at his head. "So, anyone got a new plan?"
"I do." Jeralt grunted and looked at Byleth who was strangely flailing about and firing Ki blasts now. "We keep her busy until the sun goes up. It's the only way."
"Byleth! What the hell are you doing?!" Sothis yelled as she dodged a swing from her friend. It all happened so fast! She just looked at that moon and all of a sudden she was a giant hairy monkey destroying everything around her.
But in the deep realms of her mind, Sothis wasn't safe from Byleth and her wrath. She was completely different. For one, she was completely naked. Two, her eyes were red, with no signs of her pupils or irises anywhere, as well as sporting some new fangs in her mouth. But what completely caught the spirit off guard was how violent she was.
It was like she had no control over her own mind or body anymore! She truly was a wild animal. And while everyone outside had to fight her physically, Sothis had to deal with her mentally as Byleth roared and charged towards her.
"Byleth, it's me! Pull yourself together!" Sothis tried to reason with her, to try and bring her back to the brink of sanity, but it was no use. Byleth was completely gone as Sothis dodged out of the way to avoid a bite.
A bite?!
When the hell did Byleth BITE people?!
She now knew what she had to do. There was no choice as memories of what training she did a long time ago came back to her. She slowly shifted into a stance and stared at the mad woman who she called friend.
"Byleth. For what it's worth, I'm sorry if I end up hurting you."
Sothis waited for Byleth to try and grab her and somersaulted over her and got on her shoulders before hanging on tightly as Byleth thrashed about, trying to get Sothis off her.
"But I have to keep you occupied. Let's do this!"
"What the hell is going on with her?" Jeralt muttered, noticing that Byleth was just thrashing in place. But Claude had an idea as he rushed ahead.
"We could use this to our advantage! While she's distracted, I'll make sure she doesn't go closer to the Monastery!"
Everybody was confused on what he was doing as he used his Ki to amplify his running speed. They all noticed how he kept tapping certain spots on the ground which left glowing marks in place. Edelgard narrowed her eyes and wondered what he was doing but fear suddenly took over when Byleth's large foot hovered over him, ready to stamp the life out of heir to the Alliance.
"CLAUDE! LOOK OUT!" Edelgard screamed, using her own Ki to sprint full force as Dimitri tried to grab her.
"EDELGARD, WAIT!"
But she full on tackled Claude as both tumbled and rolled on the ground just in time as the large foot created a giant crater. Edelgard panted as she was on top of Claude and growled at him.
"What was the reasoning behind that completely reckless move?!"
But Claude just chuckled and pointed behind her. "Observe."
Edelgard turned around to see Byleth stepping on top of a glowing spot and it suddenly glowed brighter which caught the attention of the giant monkey who then roared in pain as a giant explosion formed under her foot as she stumbled backwards and fell to the ground.
"Land mines. She won't be going anywhere for a while. Gives us time to think."
"…Damn it Claude, that's brilliant."
"Aww, I'm blushing, Princess. Though you might want to get off me. People will talk."
That's when Edelgard realised the position they were in with her directly on top. She quickly stood up and tried to cool down her hot face as the others regrouped with the pair.
"Smart thinking kid." Jeralt said, as they watched Byleth groan loudly before slowly getting up. She looked around in confusion before stepping on another Ki mine and started to roar in irritation at being constantly thrown to the ground. "Though it's not gonna hold her for long, we need to find a way to hold her in place."
Shamir rubbed her chin in thought and snapped her fingers. "What about the gravity hexes? Jeralt, you know how to use them, right? Could we use it on her?"
But Jeralt wasn't sure about that idea. "She doesn't have any clothes to use it on… so I'll have to put it on her body. But I haven't got any better ideas so it's worth a shot."
They heard more explosions as Byleth reached over and grabbed a giant tree trunk and start slamming it into the ground repeatedly, causing the rest of the Ki mines to blow up and she threw the trunk away and Claude cursed under his breath.
"So much for that plan… right, let's try and keep Teach in place so Papa Teach can work his stuff. Team Three Star, let's go!"
"We're not called that…" Edelgard growled but followed him into the fray.
Meanwhile at Garreg Mach Monastery, it was an outright war between humans and beasts. They weren't sure how so many got here at once, but the only conclusion that anybody could come up with was the giant monkey in the distance.
Annette blasted away a giant wolf with a Ki blast and saw Felix standing in place with a hand on a sword that he picked up on the ground, as a group of wolves charged at him.
"Felix! Get out of there! They'll eat you alive!" Annette screamed, trying to get his attention but to no avail. She started running towards him, hand outstretched and called out for him again. What she didn't notice was his sword glowing bright blue with Ki as he swung it out of his sheathe and the resulting swing formed a wide arc which cleaved the wolves in half. He sighed to himself, sheathing the sword once again before turning to Annette who stood there blinking.
"…YOU ALMOST HIT ME, YOU EVIL MAN!"
"Why did you run towards me?! I had it under control!"
"Well, you just stood there! How was I supposed to know?!"
But then a voice shouted towards the pair. It was Sylvain who was swinging the Lance of Ruin at a giant hawk. "Can you two flirt later when we get out of this?!"
That caused the two to freeze up and blush profusely as Annette slowly walked away hiding her face in her hands as Felix just shook his head. "Damn women…"
At the top of the Monastery, Rhea was currently tending to Flayn who still slept soundly, despite the ongoing ruckus outside. She slowly brushed a strand of hair away from her face and sighed.
"If there's one thing to come out of all of this, at least you are safe here… and didn't cause too much damage."
She wasn't a fool. Rhea knew how dangerous Flayn got when she was angry. Though the idea that someone drugged the young woman and took her away left an uneasy feeling in her stomach. After all, Flayn and Seteth were one of the very few she had left. If something happened to her…
Another explosion and flash of light snapped Rhea out of her thoughts as she stepped up to the window once again, seeing the ongoing battle. She knew there was no need to intervene, as the knights and students could fend off the oncoming monsters… it was the giant monkey in the distance shooting Ki beams out of it's mouth that worried her.
"It seems there was room left to surprise me, Sitri." Rhea mumbled to herself, thinking back to the woman she knew in those short years. "Why didn't you or Jeralt tell me about this? I could've found a way to prevent her from doing this. Now that foolish girl is going to harm Mother and-"
She quickly stopped herself and took a few deep breathes. "Be calm… be calm. It'll all work out in the end. I know Seteth and the others can handle it."
The Archbishop slowly walked back to the chair that she had beside Flayn and sat down, before feeling the girls forehead. "I can only hope that we can pull through…"
"I need a little help over here!" Ingrid yelled loudly, using her pegasus to duck, dive and weave to avoid the oncoming attacks from a giant hawk who was very eager to make a meal out of her. "It's gaining on me!"
She quickly turned around and tried stabbing at the beasts chest to try and wound it, but Ingrid knew that was wishful thinking. It took a group of knights to take one down, she wouldn't be able to kill it by herself.
… Luckily she had some close allies as she heard a voice from behind.
"INGRID, GET DOWN NOW!"
Hearing the warning, Ingrid immediately directed her pegasus down as a split second after that, a Ki beam shot through the hawks chest, killing it instantly and causing it to flop down onto the hard concrete. Ingrid looked up to see who her saviour was, only to find Ashe waving at her.
"Are you okay?!"
She just smiled and gave a thumbs up at her classmate. "Thanks for the assist Ashe! I'm fine now!"
But then Ingrid looked in the distance to find more incoming and she clicked her tongue in frustration. "We can't keep this up… it's that damn Moon Beast that keeps riling them up."
"Dorothea, please stay close!" Petra said to her friend as the Songstress used her magic to keep the wolves at bay. "I am not wanting you to be hurt!"
"Awwww, Petra, I'm flattered!" Dorothea giggled as she fired lightning at the beasts face. "But don't worry about me! Why don't you try out that technique you have been working on? It could help us clear out some breathing room! It's getting kind of stuffy in here!"
Petra wasn't too sure about that idea, as she sliced off a wolf's legs with a Ki blade. "I would have to have completed focus. I am not sure…"
That's when another ally came in, flying on a wyvern and swung his ace at the wolf, finally being able to kill it with a blow to the head. It was John who landed in front of Petra and stared down the pack of Wolves who were growling as he looked around and spotted Caspar.
"Yo! Short stack! Over here!"
"Hey! Don't call me short!" Caspar yelled, but made his way over and punched a wolf out of the way before it could take a bite and it backed away for a while. John then looked over at Dorothea and nodded. "You get over here too."
"Well, would it kill you to say please?" Dorothea mumbled but grabbed her tome and ran next to John who then looked at Petra behind him.
"You need time to charge your technique? We'll buy you some time. Just make it count, alright?"
Petra was taken aback at this, but slowly nodded as she got on her knees, placed her hands on her lap, and closed her eyes, starting to meditate.
"Right, let's do this!" Caspar yelled charging forward towards the pack as Dorothea sighed.
"I better make sure he doesn't go too far over his head."
John watched the two teens run to the pack and looked in the distance to see Byleth swatting at the air. He could tell Jeralt was trying to distract her and he looked to see where the moon was.
'Seems we're almost halfway through to morning… damn it. Come on boss, hold her off.'
As Petra kept on meditating and Caspar punched a wolf in the face, yelling loudly as it flew away from the impact.
"Yeeeeaaaaahhhh! Get some!"
"Focus, kid!" John yelled, flying up with his wyvern and battling a giant hawk with a group of knights. But Caspar just shrugged it off and charged again with Dorothea just shaking her head.
"Honestly, boys are so rowdy… but, I can't let him die. That won't do at all."
She aimed her hand at the wolf Caspar was battling, but was suddenly knocked to the ground as one snuck up on her. Caspar heard her screams and turned to find Dorothea had fallen and was pinned down by a wolf.
"Dorothea! No!" Caspar yelled, about to run to help, but found the wolf he was battling had grabbed his arm and pulled him back. He growled loudly and punched it in the snout causing it to howl in pain but it wasn't giving up.
"No! Get away! I have to help her!"
John tried to help too, but the hawk wasn't letting him or the knights get away. "Damn it… we can't get to her."
Dorothea tried picking up her tome and use a spell to hit the giant beast, but it just knocked the book away and she was left helpless on the ground as it bared its teeth before pouncing, ready to end her. She whimpered loudly and braced herself for the end as Caspar's horrified scream sounded in her ears.
…
Was she dead? She didn't feel like she was.
Dorothea slowly opened her eyes and gasped at what she saw. It was a bear! Or… a manifestation of a bear. It was transparent, with a purple glow to it as its teeth were buried in the wolf's neck before throwing it away. That's when a Ki spear was thrown and it impaled the wolf, killing it. Dorothea felt a hand grab her and slowly lift her up.
It was Petra. But her markings were glowing as well as her irises. She had the Songstress's tome in her hand and slowly handed it back to her.
"I have apologies for taking too long. This is the technique I had been working on. I call on the spirits to aid me in battle. I call it, Brigid Pride."
Dorothea stared at her saviour in awe as Petra tilted her head. "Is there something wrong Dorothea?"
But the girl just giggled to herself. "Oh, nothing Petra. Thank you for saving me."
"No, I have gratitude for you and Caspar and that man for giving me time to set it up."
The two saw Caspar run up to them after dealing with the wolf as he looked at Dorothea. "You're okay… woah, Petra, you look so cool!"
But then Petra grunted loudly when a sharp pain went through her and they all looked to see the bear on the ground, after being beaten by another wolf and it slowly dissipated.
"It seems… I am having more to learn. Can't keep it up for long."
That's when John came flying back down and looked towards the students. "You guys okay?"
"Thanks to Petra, we are. Her bear was able to take out a bunch of them!"
John nodded and pointed over to the western side of the Monastery. "This section is all clear. But there are others that need your help. Go find a girl named Hellen, she's currently tending to the injured. She can heal up your friend so she's not as tired. I feel like we're gonna need all the Ki attacks on this one."
But Dorothea felt uneasy as she looked up at the giant Oozaru in the distance. "I don't think anything can help us against that."
"Yeah… we just have to hope Jeralt and the others can hold her off until sunrise…"
"Wait… her?"
John froze when he realised he slipped up, but shook his head. "Look, it doesn't matter right now."
"He is correct." Petra nodded. "We have to help others."
"That's right!" Caspar yelled, punching his fists together. "Point me towards the beasts and I'll send them packing!"
John gripped the reigns of his wyvern and took off. "I'll handle things from the air! Good luck!"
Dorothea just made a face and looked towards the Oozaru shooting mouth beams and roaring. She couldn't help it, but something didn't seem right with it- no, her…
But that's when a hand grabbed her arm and lead her away. Petra looked to her and nodded. "Let's offer our assistance."
"…Yes, you're right. My apologies. Let's find this Hellen person."
They were almost halfway through the night, but this fight was just starting for everyone.
"Damn it!" Catherine growled, swinging Thunderbrand at Byleth's legs to try and slow her down. Though the giant monkey felt pin, she kept going towards the Monastery. "It's like she has a one track mind! What's even there for her at the Monastery?!"
"If I had to guess, a bunch of high Ki signatures!" Shamir yelled back, as she flew around avoiding Byleth's giant hands trying to grab her. She also took pot shots using Ki to try and divert her attention elsewhere. But that's when she misstepped and everyone watched as Shamir was grabbed by Byleth.
"Shamir! No!" Alois yelled, as he threw his axe in the air, with it striking Byleth in her belly, but she just shrugged it off and glared down at the woman who was being a giant pain. She was ready to crush Shamir.
…But she didn't realise the Mercenary had an arm free as she raised it. "Sorry Byleth. Hope this doesn't hurt too much."
She may be weaker by a lot compared to the Oozaru, but even this will do some damage as she fired a Ki blast, and it struck Byleth directly in her eye. She roared in pain and stumbled backwards while clutching her face as she fell onto the ground, with the impact causing the area around them to shake.
This was their chance! Shamir turned to Jeralt and yelled at him to do it. Jeralt nodded and held out his hands, with them turning a dark purple as hexes started forming on her body with Byleth yelling more and trying to get up, but Jeralt gritted his teeth and tried putting more and more power into the spell.
"We need to keep her down!" Dimitri yelled, running towards Byleth as Edelgard and Claude followed him, doing anything they can to keep their Professor on the ground. They used their Ki to amplify their strength and pushed down her arms with all their might. They weren't sure if it could work, but they had to try something.
"Keep her down?" Sothis mumbled to herself as she avoided a swing from Byleth. "That might just work for the hex to activate."
As she flipped over the crazed woman and slammed her feet onto her back and forced Byleth onto the ground before grabbing her arms and keeping them behind her back, pinning her down. Byleth was screaming and thrashing about as she tried to break free. Sothis gritted her teeth and looked up into the void around her.
"Come on already, work! Activate it! I can't hold her for long!"
"Hurry Jeralt!"
"I'm trying! It takes time for bigger targets!"
As Jeralt grunted loudly and kept his focus on Byleth who was being held down by Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude. Whether or not they were helping was anyone's guess, but they couldn't just stand by and do nothing. But they all saw the hexes were almost fully formed. Just a little more and they would have kept her down!
But things started to change for the worst. As Edelgard felt the arm she had grabbed start to lift her up and her eyes widened. "I can't hold her down!"
Dimitri narrowly avoided being crushed by her hands as they all realised this was a futile effort as one by one, the hexes started to break, loosening the weight that was forced upon Byleth. Jeralt cursed under his breath as he decided to let the spell disperse fully and looked towards the adults. "She's too strong for spells to work! We just have to hold her off the old fashioned way!"
The three students made their way over to the group and everyone could see how much of an impact this has had on them. They had been fighting for hours and it was starting to take its toll. They were all exhausted, having not slept at all. And in the case of the three Lords, they didn't get the chance to eat at all after being captured so they were hungry on top of tired.
"Okay… I'm going to be the one to say it." Claude panted. "This sucks."
"I have to agree." Edelgard groaned, finding it hard to stand and she looked up in the sky to see the moon still up. "It feels we have been doing this for an eternity yet only a few hours have passed."
"She's too strong." Catherine said, finding her sword to be very heavy at this point. "I don't have much left in me."
"Well, we just can't give up now!" Alois yelled, running over to pick up his axe which had landed a distance away from Byleth after he threw it. "Everyone at the Monastery is counting on us! If what Jeralt says is true, then we must push through until morning! So we must stop…. monkeying around?"
He waited for a reaction but just found everyone to be glaring at him and he cleared his throat. But Jeralt shook his head and sighed. "Bad jokes aside… he's right. I've done this before, and I was able to hold her off until morning. I know it's tough but we're almost at the halfway mark. We can't give up now."
"I agree." Seteth replied, petting his wyvern and looking at Byleth who was almost on her feet as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Well… here we go again."
And as if on cue, an ear shattering roar pierced the area as Byleth was fully stood up and growled at the Monastery before walking towards it again.
Jeralt cracked his neck and took off into the sky as Shamir looked at the ones unable to fly. "Try and trip her up. She might be strong but she's also very clumsy like this. I'll try and hit her eyes again."
"May the Goddess be with you all." Seteth continued before he and Shamir took off to join Jeralt and Dimitri formed a lance in his hands.
"You heard them. Throw her off her balance."
Everyone nodded and charged towards the giant beast once again.
"Keep you down, huh? Jeez, because that worked so well last time." Sothis grumbled, having heard what the group were talking about as Byleth growled at her. "Honestly, you are such a migraine! You can't just stay still, noooo, you have to be wild and angry! Well, it's time to put you down until you snap out of this!"
Byleth just roared at her and charged once again as Sothis got in her stance and narrowed her eyes for the battle ahead.
"They just keep coming!" Lysithea yelled, using a mixture of her clones and dark magic to fend off a pack of giant wolves from attacking the healers who were tending to the injured as the Black Eagle trio managed to make their way over and spotted the healer Hellen tending to a Knight who had a bad scratch on him.
"Just stay here for now, you've done your part. You're not dying today." Hellen said, using her staff as the rays of healing magic repaired his wounds. That's when she noticed some students looking at her.
"You're the ones Byleth taught to use Ki, right? Part of the Task Force?"
"I am not, but the two before me are." Dorothea replied and Hellen clicked her tongue before pointing at Lysithea.
"I was hoping to get the injured to the medical bay, but with the amount of beasts roaming around, that's made it impossible to do. There are stations around the Monastery where civilians and people who can't fight are holed up. There are healers at the Cathedral with their own batch of injured. And we need fighters to hold off the beasts while the healers try and do their jobs."
Dorothea nodded, understanding the circumstances and looked to her fellow students. "I will stay here and help Lysithea. You two would be more useful in other parts. Oh, but it would be more useful to have other Ki users-"
"Seems like I showed up at the right time." Leonie said, running up to them and looked at Lysithea. Something was wrong with her, Leonie could tell. Her clones were flickering, and she looked a lot more winded than usual. She then looked at Dorothea. "I'll help her fend off the beasts. You try and protect the healers. With any luck, we'll have hit them enough so it'll take one magic spell to kill them."
Dorothea nodded and turned to her classmates. "Be careful you two. It's becoming apparent how long we have been at this."
"Do not have worry." Petra replied, after getting a dose of Hellen's healing staff. "I only ask for you to not get hurt."
"Let's get going!" Caspar yelled, running away. "Let me at them! I'll punch any who get in our way!"
Leonie was now next to Lysithea and noticed she was getting sluggish as she used a spell to knock away a hawk. "Lysithea, don't push yourself. If you need to rest-"
"I am fine!" Lysithea yelled and tried to charge a ball of Ki but then it flickered and dissipated along with her clones. "I can fight! I can-"
Her eyes widened as she went into a coughing fit, grabbing her handkerchief and covering her mouth. Leonie's eyes widened, as she has never seen her classmate act this way before and she kneeled down and rubbed the smaller girls back. Luckily, there were no beasts to worry about for now. But then she saw something that made her heart drop.
Blood. On her handkerchief. She was coughing up blood as Lysithea saw Leonie staring and scoffed.
"It's not something you need to worry about. This just happens sometimes. But I need to fight! Everyone-"
But then her eyes widened when a hand grabbed her collar and dragged her away. It was Hellen who took her to a spot next the injured and plopped her on the ground. "I have entertained your stubborn act enough, but now you need to rest! You're no longer in any condition to fight!"
Lysithea was about to argue, but found herself getting light headed. It was these kinds of spells that she would have on occasions, but this came at the worst time. So reluctantly, she obeyed as she sat down. "Okay… you're right."
Dorothea realised they were down a fighter and so joined Leonie with her tome open. "Looks like we have to change our plans a little."
"It seems that way. Can you fight?"
"I'm more than just a Songstress."
The pair watched more beasts burst through and they narrowed their eyes. "Then let's get to it!"
"Ugh, go away!" Hilda yelled, cleaving a hawks wings off when it tried to attack her and she watched it plummet down to the cavern below. She was on the bridge trying to prevent any beasts from getting to the Cathedral. Which was easier said than done as even with her Ki attacks, she was but one woman. But thankfully, it seemed luck was on her side as she saw allies approaching.
It was Ignatz, Raphael and Marianne who came to assist and Hilda would happily step back and let them do the work… but she knew she couldn't do that. Out of the group, she was the only one who could use Ki attacks and that was crucial for beasts this size. But then she saw someone she didn't recognise.
"You know how to use Ki attacks?" Jacob grunted, grabbing his bow and drawing out an arrow from his quiver. Hilda just nodded, but wondered what he was planning.
"Anyone here a healer?"
Marianne raised her hand up while looking down and Jacob pushed up his glasses. "Right. Here's the plan, so listen up. We have two archers here, so we will target the hawks. Once we get them down onto the ground, I want pink hair and big guy to deal the killing blow. And the tired looking girl will heal up any damage or exhaustion. Are we clear on all of this?"
"Do I look tired?" Marianne mumbled to herself, suddenly very self conscious about the bags under her eyes as Hilda placed a hand on her shoulder.
"It's late in the night, Marianne. We're all tired, don't worry."
Hilda then hoisted her axe onto her shoulder and looked at Raphael who had his steel gauntlets on. "Let's do this. Ugh, I wish that stupid Moon Beast would go away!"
Jacob looked up into the sky. He could see the moon had passed the halfway point. It was currently 3am. Just three more hours and that would mean sunrise. He saw some more hawks approaching and let out a sigh. He was definitely getting a drink after this is all done.
'Come on Boss… just keep her at bay. We can handle the monsters.'
"Ugh, I'm taking the day off and getting some much needed shuteye after this." Linhardt groaned to himself, brushing some fallen strands of hair out of his face while tending to more injured. He was in the Cathedral where a makeshift hospital had formed. But it was anything from ideal, especially with the monsters constantly coming to them. And the fact that the sight of blood was making him feel very nauseous. Luckily, he had helpers to keep danger away from him.
Bernadetta was up on one of the higher levels acting as a sniper and using her Ki attacks to take out any wolves or hawks that managed to get past the other group. And down on the bottom, Dedue had his axe at the ready to finish off any that the smaller girl couldn't get to. But they were all showing signs of fatigue, especially Bernadetta. It's been hours since she started doing this and each attack took a little more energy away. She wasn't sure how much longer she could last as her fingers lit up again.
"Just think of your room… just think of your room… just think of…"
That's when the shattering of glass caught her attention and she was tackled off her spot by a hawk who had grabbed her with its talons and she was whisked up into the air. She tried using her Ki to fend it off but her arms were clamped in place by the giant beast. She couldn't do anything. She was going to die.
That is, until a ball of fire struck the hawk in its wing and it screeched in pain before tumbling its way down, releasing Bernadetta in the process. Instincts took over and she fired a Ki beam point blank in its face, killing it instantly. But any cause for celebration was cut short when she landed hard on the ground, knocking the wind out of her as she rolled onto her back, vision blurry from the impact as she wheezed and coughed. That's when she felt someone kneel down next to her and rub her head.
"There, there. It's okay, you're safe. You did great."
She looked up to see Mercedes holding a fire tome and smiling at the introvert. "Are you well enough to keep fighting? Or do you need to rest for a while?"
Bernadetta was about to reply, when they both heard a grunt of pain as they saw Dedue on the ground with a giant wolf looming over him. In the short time they were talking, the man from Duscur was overwhelmed and the doors to the Cathedral was now open. Mercedes quickly stood up and charged a fire spell.
"How dare you ruin this holy place? This is meant for the Goddess! You will pay!"
But the wolf just growls and charged at the woman, who stood her ground and glared. That's when Bernadetta stood up shaking and placed two fingers in either side of her face.
"Mercedes! Close your eyes!"
Mercedes was confused on the meaning, but did it anyway as Bernadetta unleashed a Solar Flash which filled the entire area with light, blinding the wolf who howled in pain and thrashed about, having one of its senses taken away.
That's when an axe lodged itself into it's back and left it dying on the floor as Dedue took it out and heaved it onto his shoulder. He looked towards Bernadetta and nodded.
"That was smart thinking on your end. Good job."
But he was confused on why the shorter girl was shaking in fear. "D-Don't hurt me! I didn't mean to fall off! I left you unguarded!"
Dedue just shook his head and gave a light smile. "You were fighting and took a nasty fall, there was nothing to be done. All that matters is that everyone is okay. However, this isn't over just yet. We have a lot of work to do. Are you able to fight?"
"Y-Yeah… my head feels a little better." Bernadetta mumbled as Mercedes was holding onto her to make sure she didn't collapse. "I should be able to keep on sniping from up top."
"Good. There are a lot of people here, and we must keep them safe. If the legends of this Moon Beast are true, then we only have to hold off until sunrise."
Mercedes looked over to Linhardt who was wiping sweat from his brow as a group of nuns helped her tend to patients. "I shall assist Linhardt. I will be of more use to helping the injured than fighting, especially since Professor Manuela is out of commission. But good luck to you two."
Bernadetta looked up to the platform she was on and sighed. "Well, at least I'll be by myself…"
"Close the gates! The doors are useless now!" A nun shouted as Dedue watched a large iron gate close behind him and nodded.
"One layer of defence down…"
"This is… this is madness!" Hubert exclaimed, watching in horror at the display before him. He vastly underestimated this woman. Then again, he was learning a lot of things recently. But Thales just smiled in glee at the destruction being caused.
"Beautiful… absolutely beautiful. To think that all it took to cause all this was a simple glance at a full moon. Though I suppose, I must commend Edelgard and her group for being able to hold off the Fell Star for so long. But I believe they're approaching their limits fast."
Thales then turned to Hubert and smirked. "And I believe you know what happens when she's pushed too far."
Hubert just clenched his fists and struggled to keep himself composed. Yes, he knew exactly what happened to Edelgard when she was pushed too far. Her body just gives out. It was a result of those damn experiments on her, her body just can't take a lot of strain anymore.
But what really sickened him was the fact that this seemed to all be a game to Thales. He looked over in the distance at all the giant beasts that surrounded the Monastery and closed his eyes. He really hoped everyone would pull through. Especially Edelgard.
"Oh, for fucks sake! Why can't she just stay in place?!" Shamir yelled, finding herself very frustrated from being unable to slow down Byleth and her advances. No matter what, she just keeps on moving towards the Monastery. She even tried shooting Byleth in the face with Ki blasts again but it seemed that the giant monkey picked up on that trick from last time and kept her face blocked. Jeralt gritted his teeth and looked in the distance, finding a horrible sight.
"What the hell? Why are there beasts attacking the Monastery?!"
"Maybe her roars has caused them to run rampant. We shouldn't worry about that just now. Our biggest issue is Byleth." Shamir said, seeing Byleth almost approaching the town that was near the Monastery.
"As much as I want to return and stuff by Flayn's side, I'm afraid that you're right." Seteth mumbled, holding onto his Wyvern. He looked up and saw where the moon was. "We're getting close to morning. Professor Jeralt, are you sure she will turn back to normal when the sun comes up?"
"Positive." Jeralt replied. "It happened last time she transformed. As soon as the sun breaches the horizon we should be golden."
"I hate to be the one who is all doom and gloom, but I fear we won't last till sunrise." Shamir said, wiping sweat off her brow. "I'm exhausted. I'm not going to be able to fly after a while."
Seteth chewed the inside of his cheek and looked at his wyvern. "And I'm afraid my partner here is the same. I have to land him to rest at some point. We need to figure out a plan, fast. Do you have one, Jeralt?"
Jeralt was trying to think while watching Byleth swat at the air. It seems something was stopping her every so often, but not for long. Perhaps they could take advantage of the times when she becomes distracted?
That's when he looked at her tail, swishing back and forth. And that's when it hit him.
"Maybe we don't have to cut off her tail, but we can use it to our advantage."
"But Byleth trained her tail to not be paralysed when it's squeezed. We can't do that anymore." Shamir reminded him, but Jeralt shook his head.
"I'm not suggesting that. But I'll need your help to pull it off. As well as everyone else."
Shamir was wondering what he meant by that, but saw him fly down to meet with the others. She looked at Seteth and nodded before both flew down to discuss this plan. But she saw how exhausted everyone was. Especially one person. Edelgard.
'She looks like she's at death's door. What's up with her…'
Edelgard was panting hard with sweat pouring off her. It was clear she was pushing herself too much, but she shrugged off any attempts to make her rest.
"I appreciate all your concerns, but I'm fine. It would be selfish of me to sit back while the rest of you struggle to hold back Professor Byleth. That being said, you mentioned something about a plan, Professor Jeralt?"
Jeralt nodded and began to explain his plan. "What we will do is this. Have you noticed that every so often, Byleth is distracted by something?"
"Hmmm… yes, you are correct." Alois mumbled. "Perhaps it's her human side fighting back?"
"I doubt it. But when she does have those moments, I want the rest of you to take out her footing. Use your weapons to trip her up, shoot the ground, whatever. Just try and get her to fall. Then, Shamir and I can grab her tail and lift her up into the air before slamming her back to the ground. It should help wind her."
"Professor Jeralt, no offence but how will the two of you lift her up?" Catherine asked, scratching her head. "I mean, she's as tall as the Monastery, if not, bigger."
"With the help of Ki." Jeralt replied. "If we amplify our muscles, we can lift stuff that's much heavier than us. But you're right, it'll be tough doing something like this. But I can tell that we are on our last legs. This might be our last hurrah."
Everyone looked at each other and Claude just shrugged. "Well, I don't have a better idea, so let's do this. Who knows, we might get lucky."
"I just hope the Goddess is watching down on us this time." Dimitri muttered, trying to form a lance but found his Ki to not be stable enough. It was true that he was reaching his limits. And Edelgard was trying to catch her breath and responded to the Prince.
"I'm afraid that your faith in the Goddess won't get us through this time around. We must rely on our skill. Just… give me a minute."
Dimitri could see how sickly she had gotten. She was deathly pale, and he noticed how her hands were shaking while she struggled to catch her breath. "El… you can rest if you have to. Nobody will judge you."
"El… how do you know that nickname?" Edelgard mumbled to herself, but then shook her head. "I'm fine. For this plan, I will push on. We must all do our part if this is to work."
Dimitri and Claude looked at each other, but decided she was right. If they were to do this, they might as well do it together as Jeralt and Shamir started to hover. "Good luck everyone. Let's do this."
Edelgard let out a shaky breath and found her vision starting to become dark around the edges, but she shook her head and slapped her cheeks. "Come on… don't fail me now."
The group all saw Byleth standing still and swatting at the air and found that was the signal to attack. But one question was on everyone's mind. What was causing her to do this?
"Just stay down!" Sothis screeched, tripping up her deranged host who just kept getting back up as she backflipped away from a punch. Sothis was impressed at her memory rapidly returning. Years and years of fighting experience coming back in an instant. And her opponent was anything but skilful. Just a very stubborn animal. Luckily, Sothis could just block all of Byleth's strikes and attacks.
She just hoped that this was helping those on the outside. And judge from what she was sensing, she could see that a plan was formed. Seems they were waiting on Byleth to stand still.
Well, it seems she didn't have to do much as she dodged a lunch and used her smaller body to trip Byleth up and sat on her back, preventing her from moving.
"Hurry up! While I've got her down!"
"That's it! She's distracted! Go! Go! Go!" Catherine yelled, charging forward with everyone else as Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude all started firing Ki blasts at the ground she was on while Seteth, Catherine and Alois all attacked her feet in an attempt to get her to lose balance. Catherine swung Thunderbrand right onto one of her toes and that was enough to actually get a reaction out of Byleth who, after trying to grab her foot, lost her footing and fell to the ground. This was it. This was their chance.
"Shamir! Now!"
"On it!"
Both adults grabbed the giant tail and started pulling with all their might while flying up, and to everyone's surprise, they started lifting Byleth off of the ground who was flailing in confusion, wondering what was going on. Higher and higher they went, but Jeralt knew they had to drop her at some point. Just a little bit more.
"Now! Drop her!" Jeralt yelled as he and Shamir let go and sent Byleth tumbling down to the ground, with the impact causing the earth around them to shake violently.
Nobody moved as they all took this moment to collect their breath. Did they do it?
At the front gates, the knights and a group of students had dealt with the last of the beasts and took this moment to prepare. Ferdinand was with Lorenz as they both petted the mounts that they were on and looked in the distance.
"Did… did we do it? Are they all gone?"
"I am unsure, my friend… we will have to see."
"This is not the time to sit and chat!" Floyd snapped, walking up to them. "Gather yourselves and try and get the injured out of here."
The two Nobles didn't like the idea of this commoner ordering them about, but he was right. They shouldn't declare victory just yet. Rather, they should take stock of this moment and help the others.
"This section is all cleared!"
Caspar sat on the ground, and felt like he was going to throw up. Everything hurt and now his adrenaline was wearing off, allowing exhaustion to take it's place. But he just laughed to himself and pumped his hands in the air. "We did it!"
Next to him was Annette and Felix, who were on the brink of collapsing as Felix held her by her arms. But she had a bright smile and looked up into the night sky. "Yeah… I think you're right, Caspar."
"Tch… I knew we would make it out of this in one piece." Felix grumbled to himself as his legs finally gave out with Annette collapsing on top of him. But neither of them cared at this point, they just wanted to rest for a moment.
"All clear!"
"Good… I'm all out of magic…" Dorothea panted as she tried to summon a flame, but couldn't even get sparks to come out now. But she felt happy. They won!
Leonie looked at the destruction around her and shook her head. "It'll take some time before this is all fixed… but at least it's nothing major."
But that's when her thoughts went to her classmate and she ran over to where Lysithea was and found her struggling to stay awake. "I can… still… fight…"
"Here, let me heal you." Hellen said to Leonie and went to use her staff… but nothing. She sighed heavily and just dropped it, with the staff rattling on the ground. "Out of juice… it's a good job we managed to fend them off."
Hellen then turned to Lysithea and brushed her white bangs out of her face and smiled. "The fighting is over. You can rest now. We all can."
"I can… rest?" Lysithea mumbled and yawned before her eyes slowly started closing. "Maybe just rest… my eyes… for a second…"
And like that, Lysithea was fully unconscious as Leonie let out a long breath and felt Dorothea hug her. She stiffened at the gesture but awkwardly patted the Songstress on the back.
"You were a great fighter tonight."
Dorothea just giggled and winked. "Well, I suppose I'm not just a pretty face, am I?"
"No, you're definitely a skilled fighter, even without Ki."
"No more enemies in this section!"
Hanneman was not sure if he was dreaming or not, but at this point, he couldn't care less. He looked to the woman by his side and smiled.
"Tess, was it? I thank you for your assistance. You seem to know your way around a spell book."
Tess blushed at the praise and pushed up her glasses. "Well, I wouldn't say that… but at least we survived. Right?"
"Yes… I believe we did." Hanneman said and smiled, before noticing Ingrid land her pegasus down and get off it. "Nothing short of a miracle that none of the students perished."
He went to turn and talked to Tess again but found she disappeared. Ah yes, she was probably going to try and find her friends. Perhaps he should find his students and make sure that they're okay.
Meanwhile, Ingrid was petting her pegasus and smiling. "You did amazing tonight. You've earned your rest. Come on, I'll get you to the stables."
That's when Ashe ran up to her and offered to help. Ingrid was about to politely decline, but found her body on the verge of collapsing. "Actually… I would appreciate the help, Ashe. Thank you."
Ashe just flashed a toothy smile and Ingrid smiled back, while not noticing a slight tinge of red forming on her cheeks. Thankfully, neither did Ashe.
"We are all clear here!"
Sylvain found himself on his back, staring up at the sky and smiling. They did it. They won. And boy, was he aching everywhere. But then he noticed someone standing over him. It was Petra, who tilted her head.
"Are you well?"
"Normally I would love a beautiful woman worrying about my well-being… but I'm just going to stay here and rest." Sylvain replied which only confused the Brigid Princess further.
"I am confusion… is this a Fódlan custom I am not aware of?" But she looked around and wondered where the rest of her classmates were. Probably gathering their bearings. Perhaps she should do the same. So she sat down, leaned against a wall and closed her eyes.
"Section clear!"
Jacob sighed when he heard that announcement and looked to the students who were on the ground, exhausted. He wasn't sure if he should count them out just yet, and he looked to the Cathedral.
"Gather your things, kids. We're going to the Cathedral for shelter."
"Just five more minutes…" Hilda whined, feeling everything hurt. And she wasn't the only one. Marianne couldn't muster up any more healing magic and was on the verge of passing out from exhaustion. Raphael's gauntlets were completely broken and Ignatz was out of arrows and his hands ached from constantly firing. But they all knew the Mercenary was right. So Raphael grabbed both girls and hoisted them over his shoulders.
"Is that Raphael?" Hilda mumbled, having her eyes closed. "You have such soft hands…"
Jacob watched them all walk away as he looked up at the sky. 'Come on… just a little longer…'
Dedue saw Hilda's group approaching and breathed out a small sigh of relief. Nobody looked seriously injured, just exhausted. Though he was definitely showing some signs of it himself. But he had something else on his mind. Dimitri.
"I hope he is okay… it pains me knowing I am not there to help. But I have to remain here and help."
He nodded to Raphael who was carrying the girls and he looked up at the guards who were guarding the gate and who got in or out. "Open the gates! We have survivors."
"You heard the man! Open the gate!"
Dedue almost laughed to himself at how they easily took in his words. Perhaps it was true how in the heat of battle and survival, it doesn't matter who your ally is. As long you work together. Jacob nodded to the man of Duscur as the group made their way inside. But Dedue sensed something inside the archer.
"We have won the battle… yet you are still on edge."
"Because this isn't over. Not until sunrise. I fear that this may be the calm before the storm."
This was unsettling to Dedue as he took in the sights before him. Mercedes was trying to heal a Knight who got a nasty gash on his torso but couldn't spark out any magic to even heal a paper cut. Linhardt had his back against a pillar, with his head in his knees, trying not to throw up. The sight of blood was simply too much for him to bear it seems.
And then there was their resident Ki user, Bernadetta. He had to admit, he was pleasantly surprised at what she was able to do. She was able to hold off a large group of beasts and monsters all on her own just with her attacks alone. But he saw she was finished. She was laying on top of the platform that she used as a sniper position, almost unconscious. If the archer was right, then they were at a disadvantage. No healers, no Ki users. And in terms of the other group, they were finished too.
"I hope this is the end…" Dedue muttered.
"I think that's it…" Claude said, chuckling to himself as he looked at the still form of Byleth who just laid there, unmoving.
"Yes, I believe you are right. That might have just done it." Dimitri replied, before both of them heard a thud. They turned to see Edelgard on the ground, weakly reaching in her pocket for a handkerchief.
"Edelgard!" Dimitri exclaimed, kneeling down by her side and handing her the piece of cloth she was looking for and watched as she started coughing into it. Both of the boys realised just how sickly she looked in that moment as she had a coughing fit. But what really made them nauseous was when they saw blood on the handkerchief.
The Princess looked up at them and weakly chuckled. "Do not concern yourself. This just happens when I push myself too far. But… I think I'm done now. I can't go on."
The rest of the adults joined them and Jeralt smiled at her. "Rest up, kid. You did great."
Seteth let out a long sigh and tried to rub the sleep out of his eyes. "Well, I believe all that is left to do at this point is wait until morning and we can head back-"
But then they all heard growling and turned in disbelief to see Byleth slowly getting up. From her place, Edelgard could only let out a weak cough.
"You can't be serious…"
"After all that…" Dimitri said, clenching his fists.
"It still wasn't enough?!" Claude yelled, before collapsing to the ground on his hands and knees panting hard. "Dammit… I can't go on…"
"Neither can I… I'm spent." Shamir grunted, as she tried to conjure up Ki to fly but wasn't even able to make it an inch.
"Yeah, me too." Catherine panted, dropping Thunderbrand by her side and feeling her legs give out. "I'm sorry everyone… if I go any further I'll pass out."
Jeralt gritted his teeth and dropped to his knees. "This wasn't nearly as difficult last time… maybe I really am getting old. Or her Oozaru state has gotten more stubborn."
"Is this truly the end? Nothing more we can do?" Alois said helplessly as Byleth was now fully back on her feet.
"Flayn… Rhea… I'm sorry… I failed you both." Seteth whispered, now falling to his knees too, unable to carry on.
That's when the loud roar sounded once again.
"Y-You're kidding me…" Ferdinand groaned to himself, looking up at the giant shadow of the Moon Beast who let out a mighty roar. And he saw a large group of beasts making their way over to the Momsstery once again. They couldn't win. They were done for.
And it seems that the knights had the same idea as the higher ranking officers shouted for a full retreat back into the Monastery, their last line of defence.
Lorenz grabbed Ferdinand's arm and hoisted him up on his feet. "Come, my friend! Our time to die is not now!"
And that's when Floyd saw a sight that made his heart drop. The giant monkey beast charging up a giant Ki blast from it's mouth. They lost. They couldn't do anything. The Monastery couldn't survive a blast that size.
"We lost…"
"Please tell me I'm dreaming…" Dorothea whimpered as she couldn't get up, having lost all her energy.
Leonie gritted her teeth and tried to prop herself up, but just collapsed. She banged her fist on the ground and closed her eyes. "No!"
"Felix… is this the end?" Annette muttered, trying to get up but couldn't.
The swordsman just stared up at the charging blast and looked down. "Yeah… I think it is…"
And his eyes widened when he felt her hand grab his hand she buried her face in his chest. "Then… I'm glad I'm with you…"
"So… this is how I am to end?" Petra mumbled, still leaning against a wall and closed her eyes. "I couldn't even return to Brigid. I am sorry everyone…"
Caspar tried forcing himself onto his feet and chanted to himself. "Get up! Come on, get up!"
But he slipped and fell back to the ground, and couldn't get back up a she weakly whispered. "Get up…"
John was still on his wyvern in the air and watched helplessly at Byleth's attack as he looked at his mount and petted her. "Well Bessie… it looks like this is it…"
"So… it is time to meet the Goddess…" Hellen said to herself, cradling an unconscious Lysithea who was completely unaware of what was happening.
"Ashe?" Ingrid said to her classmate as both were on the ground.
"Yeah?"
"…I'm glad I spent my final moments with you defending everyone."
As he slowly smiled back and hugged the blonde tightly. "Me too… knights until the end?"
"…Knights until the end." Ingrid whispered, hugging him back and burying her face in his shoulder.
Sylvain was still on the ground and just stared up at the sky, shaking his head. "Whatever that attack is… I'm done. If it kills me, let it kill me. My only regret is… I never told her."
And in the Cathedral, everybody was huddled together, as they all saw a giant glow in the distance as Bernadetta buried her head in Mercedes chest, quietly crying.
"I don't want to go…"
"I can't believe this is the end…" Hilda whimpered, trying not to cry as she looked to Marianne who was passed out. "At least you won't feel anything…"
Jacob just stared outside the window with Dedue and bowed his head. "Well, they can't say we didn't try…"
"I only hope his Highness is okay." Dedue said. "Only then can I die in peace…"
"So… despite our best efforts…" Rhea whispered to herself, watching from outside her window. She looked over to Flayn who was still passed out and she bowed her head, closing her eyes. "So be it… I could turn into my true self, but I can't survive an attack of that magnitude…"
Rhea stared up into the sky and clasped her hands together. "Mother… help."
"Goddess Sothis… please help." Mercedes whispered.
"Please Sothis…" Hellen said to herself, hands clasped together in prayer.
"We need a miracle…" Edelgard muttered as she looked up. "Goddess… I'm not sure if you truly do exist, but give us something… anything."
Sothis knew that Byleth was charging a big attack. But that made her realise something. This could be her chance to kill two birds with one stone. She just needed that moment. Byleth had her back turned, completely ignoring the spirit as she charged up the attack. And that was her biggest mistake.
"This has gone on long enough!" Sothis yelled, jumping on top of her partner and sitting in her shoulders, as she looked into Byleth's eyes and saw the hordes of beasts approaching Garreg Mach. This was her chance!
"Kindly clean up the mess you made!" Sothis growled and aimed Byleth's head at the crowd just before the attack unleashed.
In everyone's eyes, they all saw the strangest sight ever. Byleth leaning down and unleashing a giant beam of Ki that was aimed straight at the beasts which incinerated them immediately, and it also tore up the ground as she kept it there for a moment.
"Right! That's one group done! Now for the next!" Sothis grinned, seeing her plan was working as she gripped Byleth's throat to stop her attack from happening. If she was going to protect the Monastery she couldn't afford recasting collateral damage. "Now go there!"
"What is… happening?" Catherine said to everybody as they watched the spectacle, which nobody had an answer.
"It's almost like…" Seteth started to say but Jeralt finished it for him.
"Like she's killing them all."
Floyd couldn't believe what he was seeing. This giant out of control beast was destroying every beast in sight!
"Has she… regained control of her sanity?"
"She's saving us…" Hellen mumbled but then laughed to herself. "You actually did it kid… well done."
"Hellen!"
She turned to see Tess running up to her, panting hard. "Did… we win?"
Hellen just smiled, looking up at the giant shadow… then to the sky. "Yeah… we did."
Jacob almost wanted to laugh. That attack that was going to doom them all… was saving them.
"I don't know how the hell you did it Captain, but you did. And just in the nick of time, too."
John couldn't believe it. All the beasts were being destroyed. But he looked to the sky and grinned.
"Good. We did it."
That's when Jeralt noticed the sky changing colour and looked in the distance and let out a chuckle. "We did it."
They all watched Byleth stiffen as the sun started to peek out from the horizon and she slowly started to shrink down. No more Oozaru. No more monsters. It was over. They won.
"We actually won…" Edelgard laughed, still on the ground as she was wanting to fall asleep, but wouldn't until she knew her Professor was okay. The group all watched as all the fur started to go away, her fangs disappeared and her hair returned to its normal blue.
"Come on, let's check up on her!" Claude yelled and the others ran up to check on her. But then they all realised one important factor.
She was naked.
Meanwhile, everyone at Garreg Mach all cheered and celebrated once they realised that the Moon Beast and all the monsters were gone. They survived the night!
Though most of the students were too exhausted to properly cheer and some were flat out unconscious. Petra slowly pumped up a fist and smiled.
"We had gotten the victory…"
Meanwhile, in a secluded part of the Monastery, a man with purple hair peeked out of a hole in the wall and smirked. "Well, how about that? They actually managed to hold them off. Good, I was afraid we would have to evacuate everyone down here."
"Why are you up here?! It's dangerous!" A woman with blonde hair had her hands on her waist scowling at the man who just paid her no mind. "Are you ignoring me? It's most rude to ignore a noble!"
"Calm down, Coco." Another woman with dark skin and red hair was with them, leaning against a wall and looked at the man. "So, you're sure that it wasn't my… ability that did that?"
"Positive." The man replied. "That giant monkey was the one who was riling up all the monsters. Though if what Aelfric said is correct then… Gods, this place just got crazier."
"Ah, I just wish that I got to go out there and fight!" A man with black hair shouted, but then dropped his head and prodded his fingers together. "But… I'm sure I would've ran into someone who I owed money to…"
The group all sighed heavily before the purple haired man pulled away from the hole in the wall. "What matters is that Abyss and Garreg Mach is safe. Gotta give them all credit, they managed to do a good job on fending off the monsters. Good thing too, as I'm sure we would've ended up damaging the place."
The blonde woman just turned her nose up and folded her arms. "I, quite frankly, would not waste my efforts on using Ki on those vile creatures! It would have to be opponents worthy of a Nuvelle!"
The dark skinned woman then walked off and yawned, stretching her arms. "Well, if we're done here then I'm heading off to bed."
She then looked over to the purple haired man. "You coming, Yuri-Bird?"
"Yeah… I'll catch up, you guys go without me."
"If you say so." The woman shrugged. "Come on B, come on Coco. I'm dying for a sleep."
The larger man just walked next to her and folded his arms. "I would have loved to have fought those monsters…"
"I know big guy, but they took care of it for us…"
As the group disappeared, the purple haired man just stared in the distance and closed his eyes, letting out a laugh. "I didn't believe Aelfric at first… but Saiyan's? Oozaru? Seeing it all firsthand was definitely an eye opener. I'll see you soon, Byleth Eisner."
With that, the man turned away and pointed a finger at the hole and shot a Ki beam at it, causing rubble to surround the hole.
And on top of the Monastery, Rhea slowly fell back on her seat sighing loudly in relief. That last attack was honestly too close for comfort. She felt her whole life flash before her eyes. But somehow… the attack had stopped. What caused the attack to be redirected?
'Mother… are you truly in there? Could this be the day?'
But then Rhea heard a groan and her eyes widened when she realised who it was and turned around to see Flayn slowly open her eyes.
"S…Seiros?"
Thankfully, it was just the two of them and Rhea was honestly nostalgic for that name. But she just shook her head and smiled. "Remember, my dear. It's Rhea. You're safe now. You're in your room."
Flayn tried sitting up but a sharp pain rang through her head and she hissed, pressing her fingers to her temples. Rhea gently coaxed her back down.
"Rest easy, Flayn. You have been through a lot. Now you need to take it slow."
"Where's fath- er, I mean, my brother?"
Rhea's face slowly dropped as she hoped she didn't have to assume the worst. After all, he was looking for Byleth when… she transformed. "He was fighting a monster. But he should be back soon."
"Good… good…" Flayn said, slowly placing her head on the pillow again. "Because I have a request for him when he returns…"
"This should be enough to cover her." Seteth told Jeralt as he had taken his big coat off and draped it over Byleth's naked body and tried to avoid looking at anything. Though they all looked at each other and wondered what to do next.
"We don't tell her what happened." Jeralt said as everyone looked at him bewildered. But that's when a voice cut out from the rest.
"Are you insane?!"
It was Edelgard, who, with newfound strength forced herself to sit up despite Dimitri telling her to rest. But everyone was shocked to hear her talk to her own Professor this way.
"We spent the whole night trying to make sure Professor Byleth didn't kill anybody or destroy anything and you're expecting us to play dumb?!"
"Look you don't understand." Jeralt tried to explain. "If Byleth found out, she would-"
"What? Her feelings would be hurt? She would feel bad? Forgive me Professor Jeralt, but I think that doesn't matter in this situation!"
"I would have to agree with Miss Edelgard." Seteth said, with his hands behind his back despite his exhaustion. "When you informed me about this, I was under the impression that Miss Byleth knew of it too. Now I see that she had no clue."
"Yeah, it could've been prevented if she knew never to look at the moon because SHE would transform." Claude said, scratching his head and Dimitri nodded in agreement.
"We barely avoided a major catastrophe." Shamir looked at Jeralt with a stern look. "I understand you want to protect her, but this doesn't help. Imagine if we didn't get lucky. We would all be dead and the Monastery and everyone in it would be dust."
"Alright! I get it!" Jeralt yelled and rubbed his face, groaning loudly. "Alright. You make a good point. But… I just don't want her to beat herself up over this."
"Well, it's not like she chose to transform." Alois said. "It's something that just… happens. Like in the story of the werewolf. A man who turns into a wolf on the night of the full moon. Though in this case, this is MUCH more scary… I'd take a wolf over a monkey at this point."
But Catherine spoke up, still looking at Byleth who was still unconscious. "So… how do we tell her?"
Everyone looked at Byleth and wondered that same thing. They knew they had to tell her but… how?
In Byleth's mind, Sothis was sitting on the floor with her back against the steps that lead up to her throne, sighing heavily. That was much too close for comfort. It was honestly pure stupid luck that they were able to survive this long. Though she definitely played a huge part in keeping Byleth distracted.
Speaking of, she definitely agreed with the group outside. This kind of power Byleth possessed was way too dangerous to be left in the dark. She had to know so that in the future Byleth could prevent it from happening again.
That's when she saw her partner's body start to twitch and she sighed to herself and closed her eyes, smiling. "It's high time I got a little shut eye… she should be coming to soon…"
"Hey, she's waking up!"
Byleth groaned softly as light pierced her vision when she tried to open her eyes. She slowly sat up and realised she was surrounded by her friends and father. Wait, why did they all look beat up?
…Why was she only wearing Seteth's coat?
She slowly wrapped it around herself and looked at Jeralt. "What happened? Oh no, did the Moon Beast come? Oh, why did I pass out again…"
But then Jeralt let out a sigh and placed a hand on her shoulder. "We… need to talk, kid."
"All in all, I would say that this was a massive success." Thales said to himself as Cornelia wrote down notes on her slate.
"Oh yes, indeed! It ended up more chaotic than I imagined! Who would have thought that the monsters and beasts would have gotten a rise out of her roars? This subject is even more fascinating as the days go by. Such power… it's a shame we can't find more of her kind."
"Indeed." Thales chuckled to himself. "They could've been such good allies. But no matter, when they have all gone back to their homes, we can siphon all of the residue Ki that they all left behind. Including the power of the Oozaru. On top of all of that, Solon's cover is still safe and we have a new plant. Nobody will suspect a thing."
"Yes, it seems that it was all a massive success!" Cornelia cackled to herself as she walked away and looked behind. "This will be going towards our… secret project. Our grand finale."
"Ah yes, excellent idea. We wouldn't want that to be left behind, now would we?"
As Cornelia teleported away, and Thales looked to his left to see Hubert standing there with a mixed look on his face. "What's wrong, lap dog? Has your entire world been shattered? That such destructive capabilities exist?"
"Only one person was able to do all this…" Hubert muttered to himself and froze up when Thales placed a hand on his shoulder and gripped it tightly.
"And now that power is ours. To be honest, I was afraid that they would try killing her, but it seems I was worried for nothing since nothing could harm her. We also have something else at hand."
Hubert saw Thales holding a vial of red liquid and looked to him, wondering what it was. "This is a small drop of the girls blood. We one we kidnapped."
"….You said you didn't need her. That she was a red herring!"
"That she was. But she had her uses outside of all of that. Though, I'm afraid we won't be able to get her true potential out of this drop."
Now Hubert was more confused but Thales walked away. "No need to concern yourself. But I'm sure you've heard the tales of Saint Cethleann's rage. Perhaps we could wield it if this blood gives us what we want…"
With that, Thales teleported away and left Hubert standing there, staring at the ground and clenching his fist.
"I fear… that this is getting much bigger than we originally thought… I need to gather more data…"
Byleth was now looking over all the damaged forests, all the giant craters and her loved ones injured and adjusted the coat so she was wearing it properly. "…I did all of this?"
Jeralt was silent for a moment and then nodded to confirm what she heard. "Yeah. You did."
"…And it's when I look at a full moon? That's all it takes?"
"Yeah."
"…I see."
It was just father and daughter who were there. The rest decided to head back to the Monastery to rest as well as Shamir volunteering to grab replacement clothes for Byleth. Jeralt scratched his head, wondering what to say and then decided to apologise.
"Byleth, I-"
"You don't have to apologise, dad. I understand why you felt the need to lie." Byleth replied, still staring at the destruction around her. "The most important part is that I know now."
"Yeah… I guess that's true."
"Captain Jeralt!"
The pair turned to see familiar faces running up to them and they smiled, seeing old members of the Blade Breakers. But they looked worse for wear after their own battle as Hellen smiled at Jeralt. "Well, it seems you didn't need us this time to hold off that beast, huh?"
John then looked to Byleth and tried to make light of it. "Damn, did the Moon Beast mess you up that bad-"
"You don't need to lie, Uncle John. I know it was me who did all of this."
This caused the group to freeze up and then sigh heavily. So she finally figured out that it was her. At least everyone around them knew about it now.
"…SHE WAS THAT MONSTER?!"
…Oh right, Tess. They forgot. Jacob turned and lead her away so she could ramble in peace as he tried to explain and Hellen turned to Byleth.
"How do you feel, kid? We're sorry we kept it from you."
Byleth frowned, looking down and feeling her tail coil around her waist as she looked at the coat she was wearing. "Confused. Upset. My eye hurts a lot, but I think Shamir hit me with a Ki blast… I feel a lot of things. But I don't hate any of you for what you chose to do. I know you looked out for me, Aunt Hellen."
They all slowly nodded and Byleth turned away and started to walk. "I would… like to be by myself for a little bit, I just need time to think."
Jeralt nodded and smiled. "Of course, kid. Shamir should be over with your clothes soon. We'll see you back at the Monastery."
As the group walked away and saw Jacob still trying to calm down Tess who was rambling and Floyd sighed. "We really got off on the wrong foot with her."
Hellen shrugged and let out a laugh. "Well, I'm sure anybody would be freaked out after all that. But… Captain… do you think she will be okay?"
"It's a lot to take in." Jeralt replied. "But… I'm sure she will be fine. She's a tough girl."
"I'm just glad that we can put this to bed, and not keep anymore secrets. John said, before yawning loudly. "Though…. I don't know about all of you, but I'm going to bed."
"Oh, I really need mines too!" Hellen whined.
Jeralt smiled at his old crew and looked behind him to see Byleth sitting on a boulder, staring into the distance.
'Be safe kid…'
"…Sothis? You there?"
…
"I suppose you're asleep…"
'I am trying to! You kept me up all night, you know?!'
Byketh flinched when the screeching voice of Sothis sounded in her head and she appeared next to her. Byleth just hugged her knees and kept the coat around her. "Right… you also kept me from destroying everything."
Sothis now had a solemn look in her face and she rubbed at her arm and nodded. 'It was… certainly a unique experience. One thing after the other. But… I suppose something good came out of all of this.'
"What exactly is that?"
'You have an untapped pool of power hidden deep within you. If we're going to fight these shadowy figures… it would be better to have that under control. So you could try to control your giant monkey form. Or….'
"Or I could try to access it without needing to transform." Byleth finished, realising what Sothis was hinting at. "Is that possible? I don't even know where to start."
'Well, we can figure that out another time. I'm going to get some sleep. Fighting a crazed mind certainly takes it out of you.'
With that, Sothis retreated into Byleth's mind, leaving her all by herself. Byleth took that time to think.
Sothis was right. She did have so much power inside her. She can feel it bubbling up from time to time, specifically whenever she felt angry after her fight with Lonato. It always felt just out of reach, always an arms length away.
But maybe that wasn't the case anymore. Sure, Byleth could try to get that form under control, but she wasn't entirely sure if that was possible. Then again, neither does her other option, which is trying to draw from that power without needing to transform.
Byleth honestly felt excited. She thought she had hit her limit, which is why she was training the students, but now, she has a new goal to achieve. So something good came out of all of this after all!
"Byleth."
She turned to see Shamir holding a new set of clothes with a concerned look. "Is everything okay? I know this was all overwhelming to hear."
"Oh, yes. Everything is more than okay." Byleth replied, standing up from her spot and taking the clothes from her friend. But Shamir was confused on how… happy she was. As if sensing her thoughts, Byleth explained.
"I'm going to get that power under control, and I will use it to destroy those shadowy beings!"
Shamir's eyes widened for a second, before she closed them and laughed. "Well, that's certainly one thing to take from all of this. I wish you luck. Just try not to neglect the Task Force as they're still needing their training."
"I won't!"
"Alright, well, when you come back, return Seteth's coat. I'm sure he will be wanting it. I'll see you later."
"You too!"
She watched Shamir fly back to the Monastery and Byleth turned to look at the rising sun with a determined smile, feeling something boil inside her.
Motivation.
Back at the Monastery, Edelgard was wanting nothing more than to just collapse onto her bed and fall asleep. She could already imagine the soft pillow against her face. Should she even get changed? No, that'll take too long, she can do all that later. So Edelgard grabbed the handle to her room and slowly opened it-
"Hello Edie!"
She almost screamed when she realised who was in her room but was swiftly pulled in and the door slammed shut and a hand covered her mouth as a voice whispered in her ear.
"Ah, ah, ah. Wouldn't want anybody to realise we're conversing now, would we?"
Edelgard almost wanted to throw up when she saw the face of the girl from under the Monastery. Though now she was realising just how familiar her mannerisms were. "Which one are you?"
The woman just gasped and placed a hand on her chest in shock. "Why Edelgard, I'm so hurt! I'm a student here! Monica-"
"Stop fucking around. Who are you and why are you here?"
'Monica' just scowled and crossed her arms. "You know, you're no fun. Fine, I'll show you."
So she snapped her fingers and Edelgard watched her skin start to melt away in a disturbing manner before revealing pale skin and orange hair. That's when the Princess recognised her.
"Kronya."
"Bingo!"
Edelgard forced herself to keep a neutral expression as she folded her arms. "What are you doing here?"
Kronya ignored that question and was skimming through some books that Edelgard kept. "So, you survived the Oozaru? Boooooring!"
"You knew about that?! You planned this!"
"Of course we did!" Kronya giggled. "Who do you think got the guards swapped out?"
"…Solon."
"And thanks to all of this, his identity is still secret. Though there was supposed to be more destruction around here, but you just had to be a goody two shoes." Kronya continued, but then leaned towards Edelgard with a wicked grin, now dawning her disguise again.
"But to answer your earlier question. Lord Thales isn't too happy with you."
"What have I done to make him unhappy?"
"It's what you DIDN'T do! You haven't reported in a long time. The reason you came to this place was to give us info about the Monastery. But nope! You've been tight lipped! You're not thinking of turning your back on us, are you?"
Edelgard glared and aimed an open palm, charging a Ki blast. "Tell me why I shouldn't kill you right no-"
She gasped when Kronya managed to grab her wrist in the blink of an eye and twisted it, causing Edelgard to fall to her knees. "Careful Edie. Try not to think that you're the hot stuff around here just because you know a few fancy tricks. I'm the same, and I'm much more stronger than you are."
She then leaned closer and let out an evil grin. "I'd hate to give you more scars than you already do. But perhaps one on your pretty face will teach you?"
"Fuck. Off."
Kronya just let out a huff and stretched her arms. "Well, I have to get going now. After all, we are going to be best buddies from now on!"
That made Edelgard stop in place as she slowly turned towards Kronya while rubbing her wrist. "What are you talking about?"
"Oh, didn't you know? This body belonged to a student of the Black Eagles! And so, I will be resuming my studies and graduate! I do hope you can help me catch up!"
Kronya winked and skipped away after closing the door, leaving Edelgard standing there, stunned. She was wondering if this was something she was prepared for. She had to keep Kronya away from Byleth, who knows what they have planned.
But that's when darkness started filling her vision and she realised she was about to pass out. "Oh well… I can worry tomorrow…"
With that, she was fully unconscious before her head even hit the pillow. One thing was for sure, and that was this month will be difficult. Everyone just hoped that the only thing they had to worry about next was the Battle of the Eagle and Lion.
"YOUR WISH HAS BEEN GRANTED!"
In another part of the universe, a set of balls were just used to grant a wish, before the dragon that was within disappeared from sight and scattered the balls away. The figure stood up tall and grinned evilly.
"Finally! I am young again! This feels amazing!"
A henchman approached the figure and bowed. "Lord Slug, now that your youth has been restored, we can move on with phase two. There are a few planets in the universe that are suitable candidates for your haven. Though, we cannot recommend this planet."
Lord Slug looked around and let out a grunt. "I'm not too much of a fan of this place anyway. The air is terrible. What other planets do we have?"
They were walking towards a spaceship as the henchman looked at a tablet, before seeing one specific planet. "It's located on the southern quadrant of this universe. Good atmosphere, luscious wildlife, and no signs of pollution. It will be perfect as your haven."
"…Perfect. Set a course for this planet… what is it called?"
"Gargmacha, my Lord."
Lord Slug just kept that grin and crossed his arms. "Gargmacha… I like it. A perfect place for my water paradise."
As the ship took off, a group of three individuals saw them fly away and a being in green skin let out a noise of discontent. "They must've used the Dragonballs… but why?"
One of the other figures, a man in an orange gi, scratched his head. "Who knows? But… I guess they left so… they're not really a threat?"
"Hmm… I don't like this. But as long as they don't bother Earth, then we can let it slide. After all, we need to prepare for the Androids, and they would've gotten in the way."
"Yeah… darn it, I wish we could've fought them. But you're right, we need to keep training."
"Dad, look! A comet!"
The man turned to see the third figure, a young boy, pointing up at the night sky and he looked to see a blue comet trailing across the sky. As if forgetting about his worries, the man's eyes widened. "Wooow! You don't see that everyday! Make a wish!"
But while the two were looking at the blue comet, the green figure just stared up into the direction where the ship went. 'What the hell are they planning?'
Well, that was the longest chapter ever. Looot of plot and setting up for stuff, as well as the next arc!
So as some of you probably realised, yes those three are exactly who you think they are. As well as what point in their story they are at. But there's actually a hint about that blue comet. Yes, I'm being bold and the comet actually belongs to a certain someone that is taking place in the finale of a certain game. Can you guess what game? The universe is a lot bigger than you think.
So I was inspired by Fury Bowser when coming up with this battle. I was listening to the theme tune as I was writing for inspiration. And I am pretty happy with how it turned out. And for anyone worried about OC's, don't worry. They won't be main characters, they just know about the Oozaru and so were part of Byleth's past as the Blade Breakers.
Also I wanted everyone else to have their time in the spotlight so I treated it like a Warriors type game where they have to keep beating large hordes of enemies. Again, really happy how it turned out. Especially with how Ki techniques are being developed like Petra's Brigid Pride. That was inspired by Connor Kenway and his Animal Spirits in Assassin's Creed 3 DLC. Plenty more opportunities for more techniques to be developed.
But now Byleth has a new goal. I know some of you may think that's a Broly exclusive, but no. Theoretically, any Saiyan can learn that as they all have that power inside them. And maybe it's not just limited to Saiyan's. Maybe other characters with beast forms.
Yes, Kronya is now in play as Monica. Will this affect Edelgard's relationship with her friends and teachers? Especially when her trust is getting even thinner with these people she allies with? Read to find out.
But yes, I said I would use movie villians and this is the one. Lord Slug. But I'm changing up his motivations this time around. But regardless, this is the next arc.
So somebody wanted me to do a power level list. I don't do power levels because it just causes arguments but I'll give you a power scaling list for everyone.
From strongest to least strongest so far:
Byleth
Jeralt
Shamir
Dimitri
Edelgard
Lysithea
Claude
Felix
Petra
Leonie
Caspar
Annette
Ashe
Hilda
Bernadetta
Also Edelgard and Lysithea are more stronger because of their double Crests. But as shown, they can be severely weakened if pushed too far.
Some reviewers were worried I would have Byleth's tail removed. Don't worry, that tail is going nowhere. I was very bitter when tails weren't a thing anymore in the series.
Also, yes I'm calling Byleth's Planet Gargmacha. Since surprisingly, the Fire Emblem games don't have a planet name. Kind of combining Garreg Mach.
So all in all, a big chapter. Also did anyone catch a certain group of underground people? They will be involved too, don't worry.
Also thanks to everyone that favourites, follows and reviews. It means a lot to me when you do, as it let's me know who is interested. But join us next chapter for a break in action as well as training.
Catch you later!
