"Let me work on it."
"No." Himiko muttered as she readjusted the thumb on the hand.
"Please?"
"No."
"I promise I'll try not to blow it up!"
"Yea, no." Himiko continued to carefully work on the arm. Without looking, she snapped her hand out and slapped Mei's hand away from the exposed wiring along the arm. "Don't touch that."
"Ow!" It didn't physically hurt Mei, but it hurt her feelings. She wanted to work on the baby! She pouted at Himiko, before instantly forgetting why she was upset and using her quirk to zoom in on the wiring. "You know there's a lot of screwed-up wiring in here, right?"
"Yeah, go figure." Himiko dismissively said. "The whole arm is busted."
"Yeah, like these wires here- ow!" Mei had her hand slapped away again.
"Don't touch that." Himiko tried to get the fingers to move, but they were stuck in place. "Dang It. Come on."
"You know an explosion caused this." Mei pointed out from her little spot next to Himiko. "Yeah, I've seen this kind of damage before."
"Really? I wouldn't have guessed you'd be familiar with explosions." Himiko sarcastically remarked. Okay, maybe she's being a little mean to Mei, but she wasn't exactly her normal self at the moment. She just wanted to do something right, and if she got Izumi's Mark 1 arm completely destroyed and irreparable, then that's just another thing to add to the list of things she screwed up this week on top of having a blood-hungry episode. She can't afford to break the arm further. She needed to get it in working condition, not blown up. She needed to do something right! Now if only she could get these stupid fingers to move!
She gritted her teeth as she tried hard to pry open the hand. "Come on, you stupid- huh?" Suddenly the fingers went lax and fell limp to the table, leaving the palm completely open. Himiko saw movement out of the corner of her eye and looked over to see that Mei had her hands in the wiring.
"There we go!" Mei chirped.
"Hey!" Himiko hissed.
She went to slap Mei's hands away again, but she just dodged backward with her hands up in surrender. "Whoa! Easy there, Kitty Kat! I was just helping you unfurl the fingers."
Himiko immediately looked over the wiring, making sure nothing was about to blow up. "What did you do?! Is it gonna explode?!"
"Pfft! Nah!" Mei waved her off. "The hand was locked into a clenched fist, and it needed a signal to loosen the fingers. I just used these wires over here to do that." Mei pointed out said wires, she frowned at Himiko "It wasn't that hard, just needed to cross a few wires and presto! Unclenched the fist!"
Himiko finished her quick inspection before slowly looking at Mei with narrowed eyes. "Thirty minutes ago, you nearly blew yourself up twice because you crossed a few wires."
"Yeah, but that was to see what would happen with those wires. I recognize these. The circuitry got all messed up by an explosion, and I've fixed this type of damage before, just ask Master!"
Power Loader's voice could be heard from the classroom beyond his office door. "Mei, you leave me the fuck out of whatever property damage you're causing!"
"See!" Mei smiled proudly. "I've always known my way around wiring! I was just experimenting with my babies over there. You know, 'what will happen if this messes with that?' Just because I caused an explosion doesn't mean I don't actually know how to work with babies."
"You have no idea how wrong that sounds!" Himiko shouted, but was ignored as Mei kept going.
"And I have standards!" Mei proudly yelled. "I wouldn't dare risk damaging someone else's baby! That's just cruel!" She frowned "Anyway, I mainly do all that to my babies for testing, I want to test for every scenario, every possibility, every explosion, that way if something happens in the future and a customer complains, bam! I fix it and they pay me buttloads of cash, and continue to use more of my precious babies!"
Himiko stared at the girl in front of her. She may be feeling out of it today because of what happened at her school, but she could tell that Mei was being honest. The pink-haired girl seemed so sure in her words.
"So… you really know how to fix this?" She nodded her head towards the arm.
"Not exactly," Mei admitted. "Shieldline arms are very sophisticated. There have been prosthetics made in the past, but nothing like what David Shield's developed. But I'm sure we can figure it out. Two minds are better than one!"
Himiko was still on the fence. Did she really trust Mei to not blow them up? Or more importantly the arm?
"Please?" Mei pleaded, scooting closer to Himiko.
She closed her eyes and sighed. "... Fine. But don't blow it up!"
"Yes!" Mei then leaned over the arm once more. "Scooch over, Assistant Girl!"
"My name is Himiko Midoriya!" She corrected. "And I'm not your assistant, if anything you're my assistant!"
"Whatever helps you work, Assistant Girl!" Mei continued to inspect the wiring, though her smile softened a bit to let Himiko know she was joking.
Himiko's eyes widened as she dramatically gasped. "Holy shit you understand social cues?"
Before Mei could respond to that insulting line of questioning the sound of creaking metal caught their attention. Turning, they saw Izumi. She had fallen asleep watching them and was currently resting in the chair nearby, her upper half laying on top of the table. Her prosthetic hand was clenching and unclenching so hard that it was causing the metal fist to audibly creak with the strain, and scratch marks were left on the metal table, though the hand itself didn't seem damaged.
"Uh… is she okay?" Mei pointed over at the restless woman.
"I… don't know…" Himiko trailed off. It wasn't the first time Himiko had seen her sister's hand acting up like it was now. While the rest of her body seemed relaxed enough, her prosthetic hand would act like it was trying to desperately do multiple things at once. "Um… m-maybe the hand is reacting to signals from the brain? Like, it thinks Izumi's awake, and is trying to move it sort of how people normally sometimes move around in their sleep.."
Yeah, because that makes total sense!
Mei blinked as she took in that theory. "But she's asleep though."
"Yeah, obviously. But the prosthetics are super responsive, or at least Izumi's are. That's how she's able to react with them so fast." Himiko explained, before rubbing her chin. "Thinking about it now, that's probably why she usually takes the arm off before going to sleep. Never know when the arm is gonna punch a hole in a wall." She shuddered. 'Or someone' going unsaid inside her mind.
"That seems like a big inconvenience, yeah." Mei turned back to her work. "Anyway, it looks like we're going to have to start by clearing away some of the debris from inside of the arm," she pulled the arm into a standing position and used her tweezers to point to the open section she was working on. "It's cracked all along here, which shouldn't be a hard fix, but we have to open her up and get the damaged bits out and replace any damaged wiring."
Before Mei could get further into her discussion though, a loud banging reached their ears as someone pounded on the classroom door.
"FBI! Open up!" The door slammed open, causing Himiko and Mei to jump, but the most visceral reaction was Izumi's. She immediately woke up, jumping to her feet and throwing her chair through the door, nailing the intruder in the stomach with it. She had her sidearm out and ready before she remembered where she was and blinked before she rubbed her eyes tiredly.
"Fucking… Jin, d'you have to barge in so loudly?" Izumi groaned as she rubbed her face. Her head kinda hurt from the lack of good sleep.
With her distracted, she didn't notice the looks of worry the others were giving her. When Izumi had woken up, she looked ready to kill a man. Before she could see their faces (well, just Himiko's and Mei's were visible, since Jin was wearing his mask), they schooled their features enough to make it look like just surprise.
"Goddammit, Jin." She walked outside the classroom and helped her brother up. "I didn't hit you too hard with that, did I?"
Jin shrugged "Hurts a little, Thank you sir, may I have another?"
Izumi chuckled. "You're not going masochist on me, are you?"
"Naw, Step on me!"
"You have no idea how many people would pay me to do that, Jin Jin." Izumi rubbed her eyes and looked at the two girls she was supposed to be supervising "Oh shit, I fell asleep didn't I?"
Mei didn't even acknowledge the question, once the excitement of seeing Izumi chuck a chair at terminal velocity had worn off she went right back to fiddling with the arm.
Before Himiko could respond Izumi walked up to her and gave her a hug, ruffling her hair a bit with a yawn. "I'm glad you're letting someone play with your toys, Gremlin, making friends is important."
"Sis, are you tired?" Himiko asked, only for Izumi to shake her head.
"What? Me? No! It's not like I went to sleep past one in the morning last night."
"Big sis… that's exactly what happened."
"... Fuck."
"Language!" Jin waggled a finger at her.
"Shut the fuck up, Captain America." Izumi playfully told Jin, a yawn escaping her. "Should take my own advice sometimes." She mumbled, thinking back to her conversation with All Might earlier that day.
"Do you want me to tell Aizawa you can't go to the USJ?" Jin asked, his
"USJ? Like Universal Studios Japan?!" Himiko excitedly asked.
"No, sorry Himi," Izumi shook her head, and Himiko deflated. "He's talking about the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, here on campus. As for what you said, Jin, I kinda have to be there. Told Toshinori to take the day off, and I can't leave Aizawa and Thirteen there alone with the students."
"Are you sure you'll be okay?" Jin asked. "I have the 'wake 'em up' stick!" Jin pulled out a baseball bat from… somewhere.
Izumi sighed before looking at Mei who was still ignoring everyone else. She flicked her in the back of the head to get her attention.
"Ow!" Mei turned and pouted up at Izumi who chuckled and smiled at her softly.
"Do you have a coffee machine in here? I'd like to at least be awake before I try and teach my students rescue procedures and operations."
"Scary Lady, you're in luck!" Mei excitedly yelled before bolting over to a coffee machine on a different desk.
"'Scary Lady'?" Izumi muttered. Before she knew it, Mei had returned with a freshly brewed cup of coffee. "Thanks, Hatsume." Izumi inspected the black tar-like coffee that was in the cup, before shrugging and taking a sip. Immediately after swallowing her first gulp of the syrupy concoction, her eyes blew wide open. "Holy shit… What's in this?"
"Stuff." That was all Mei said with a shrug.
"... Okay, I think I had enough with that one sip. Here," She handed the cup to Mei, "You can-"
Mei took the cup and chugged down the rest of the coffee like a champ.
"... I was gonna say 'toss that out,' because I don't think even Aizawa needs that strong a brew… but sure, you can drink it! Why not?!"
"Big Sis, we're running late. We've got a lot of time, take another nap." Jin reminded her.
"Right, right." She turned to both Himiko and Mei. "Girls, behave well for Power Loader. Himiko, play nice. Hatsume, don't blow up my sister… unless she deserves it."
"Wait, what?!" Himiko yelled.
"Okay, byeeeee!" Izumi waved, then left with Jin, checking her watch. "Damn, we're late. Sorry, Jin."
"Nah, it's cool. You really pissed me off. The lessons probably barely started, so we won't miss much. The students will be fine without you for a bit. We'll miss the entire class! We're terrible teachers."
Izumi chuckled as the two made for the garage. Taking her motorcycle to the USJ would be faster.
"Yeah, you're right. I'm sure that the students are perfectly fine."
Ejirou had been fighting the moment he was deposited within the weird ruins he found himself in. He grabbed a random mook with fire breath and threw him over his shoulder into another group of villains.
Honestly, if it wasn't for the whole imminent danger thing going on, Ejirou would be having the time of his life. He quickly ducked under the chainsaw arm of another villain, punching him in the sternum, hard enough to wind the man but not kill him. He barely had time to make sure the man assaulting him was out of commission before five more enemies immediately charged him.
He was already getting tired, but he couldn't stop now! With a yell, he charged into the fray, grabbing one man by the arm and swinging him into a woman that seemed to be charging an attack. Before he could move on to the next guy, he got dog piled by multiple villains. Ejirou may have been strong, but the weight of multiple fully grown men was too much even for him. The only thing probably keeping him alive at that moment was him hardening his body to tank the blows.
Suddenly, some of the villains started yelling in surprise, and before he realized it, the villains on him were being yanked off and pulled away by… horns?
The flying horns were grabbing villains by snagging onto their outfits and throwing them into a pile away from Ejirou. When they were all thrown on top of each other they tried to get up to get payback at whoever interrupted their fun.
They all froze as they saw the blonde girl with the mini-gun aimed right at them, spinning up.
"You're all 'bout to have a real bad day."
"... We surrender?" One villain tried.
"Me no speak Japanese!" Pony Tsunotori growled out before she opened fire.
Ejirou watched in slight fear as Pony mowed down the villains. Luckily, it wasn't live ammunition, so Pony didn't kill them, but damn if it still wasn't scary seeing his innocent-looking classmate go feral with a mini-gun.
After a few seconds of non-stop fire, Pony finally let go of the trigger, Sweet Business' barrel slowing to a stop and smoking from all the rounds that it spent.
"Talk was good, guys." She smiled and started reloading the gun, removing the spent cylindrical magazine for a fresh one.
"No, it wasn't." One villain in the pile groaned.
Kirishima snorted, "I wouldn't back talk the girl with the mini-gun, guys."
"Assault rifle!" Pony corrected.
Ejirou got his feet under him and stood up, deactivating his quirk and making his way over to Pony. "Damn, Tsunotori. Where did you come from?"
"Sky. Mist Man drop me." Pony told him as she finished reloading.
"Well, I'm lucky you showed up. Was starting to get a little dicey." He chuckled. "Hey, we should go see if we can find anyone else. If we're here, then that mist guy probably dropped everyone else in other places too."
Pony nodded while stowing Sweet Business on her back. "Lead way, rock man."
"Ejirou."
"Rockman!"
"DIE!" Katsuki shouted as he unleashed yet another explosion on a group. Fuckin Mistman made a mistake by teleporting him to the Mountain Zone. Lots of ways to work up a sweat, get his quirk really going, and just unleash hell on these extras.
He hadn't really seen any of his other classmates, but he owed it to Deku to at least look for them, get some metaphorical rescue points under his belt or something…
Though, if the group of villains he was fighting now was anything to go off of, then his other classmates should be able to hold out. These extras were weak as hell, couldn't even survive some of his weaker explosions…
Metaphorically speaking, of course…
He didn't need to have actual corpses on his conscience, he's not a psychopath.
He dodged a blow from some random extra and grabbed his arm, popping his quirk as he did, burning the man's arm and throwing him down the mountain, propelling him further because of his quirk into a group of extras below him like a group of pins at a bowling alley.
All of them were knocked over and down the mountain…
There's a reason they banned him from bowling in most alleys in Mustufu…
He was about to turn and find another person to "maim" when he felt the ground start to rock. Looking around, he noticed a couple of yards away from him, Earlobes was crouched down into the side of the mountain, screaming her heart out like some kind of metal opera singer, while the mountain below her shook.
"Holy shit." Katsuki had to say, it impressed him, to think some dinky little earlobes could do something like this, maybe she could be upgraded from Extra to Sidekick after this was over.
Katsuki looked around, trying to see if he could find a way over to her. Theoretically, he could just fly over with his explosions, but admittedly he was still working on that technique, and now, being so high up, wasn't the best time to test it.
At least that's what he thought until he saw a filthy extra come up from under the ground and tackle Earlobes.
Well shit.
"Fuck it." He mumbled, backed up a few steps, and took a running start. "Physics class don't fail me now you fucking nerd!" With that, he lept up and started firing his quirk as hard as he could.
Don't ask him how it worked or to explain his thought process, that was Deku's shit, instead ask him what it felt like to fly under his own power. Actually, don't bother because he'd tell you it felt fantastic. Especially once he slowed down, raised one of his arms and grabbed the fucker on top of earlobes by the face, and surfed him ten feet down the mountain like a fucking snowboard.
God, he wished he had a camera. Thankful the man had a quirk similar to Shitty Hair's so what would have been instant death and a messy landing for some other extra ended up being a really fucking bad rug burn for him.
He fucking deserved it too for being a shitty fucking villain, both literally and figuratively.
He was about to turn around to check on Earlobes when he felt his spine tingle, that feeling you get when you are being watched. He turned around just in time to see a large, four-armed woman looming over him. He would never admit it to anyone besides his parents, Aunty Inko and Deku, but he was pretty close to panicking at that point. He knew he wouldn't be able to raise his arms fast enough to hit her with any form of explosion, and honestly, she looked like she was built like a brick shithouse anyway so he doubted anything but his best could damage her.
Right when she was about to reach out and grab him the loud crack of gunfire reached his ears just as she fell over, gasping for air and clutching her chest where a large bruise was forming from where a rubber bullet had struck her.
He turned and saw the barrel of a sniper rifle sticking out from between some rocks, the shooter quickly standing and cheering out a loud, "I love this gun!"
"Fucking Ponytail…" Katsuki groaned as he kicked the Villain in the face to stop her crying. He then started his march back up the hill to check on Earlobes and group up. "Fucking Deku, you created a second you…"
When he made it up to her, he expected Earlobes to be freaking out over being assaulted by some extra, color him surprised when she immediately ran up to him, stars in her eyes hands clenched to her chest as she started rambling like Deku herself was standing right before him.
"Holy shit, holy shit, did you see that?! I created a fucking earthquake! I was all like 'the power of metaaaaaaaal'." She started giggling like a madwoman. "And then you flew like a fucking jet! And saved me! Oh my God, it was so wicked! I love this support equipment!"
Katsuki sighed and shook his head as Ponytail joined them. "Jesus Christ, fucking Deku… I swear, she's infecting all of you. I can only handle one of her, dammit!"
He saw Ponytail make her way down from the cliff she was perched on with a grappling hook she made. When she got to them, she had the widest fucking grin on her face. "That felt so good. I should really thank Flintlock-Sensei for those after-school lessons!"
"Right," Katsuki dismissively said as he looked over towards the plaza. Before the misty fucker teleported them all across the USJ, Aizawa had jumped into the hoard of villains at the plaza to distract them and buy time for them to escape. What good that plan fucking did. "Ponytail-"
"Yaoyorozu."
"Whatever, the thing on your head can still scan the USJ, right? Where is everyone?" Katsuki asked.
Ponytail reached up to her Scouter and looked out over the USJ. "Everyone seems to be scattered around all the zones. A few of our classmates seem to have avoided the portals though and are still at the entrance… along with Kurogiri."
"Who?" Katsuki raised an eyebrow.
"Dude," Earlobes looked at him, "the guy told us his name. Was the textbook definition of 'proper' with his introduction."
"Oh, the mist fucker. Wasn't paying attention." Katsuki looked towards the entrance. "Alright, let's go kill that son of a bitch."
"Wait," Ponytail stopped him. "What about our other classmates?"
"They'll be fine. These low-level thugs are all talk, they ain't worth shit. The others can handle them. We need to make sure these fuckers can't leave, and that means taking out the way they came in. If that guy can get them in, and scatter us across this damned place, then he can get them out."
"Wow," Earlobes smirked. "Didn't take you as the one to stop and think. Thought you were more of a 'blow them up, ask questions never' type of guy."
Katsuki snorted and started walking down the mountain. "When you have Izumi 'I'm too smart for my own good' Midoriya as a friend you end up picking shit up through osmosis."
"Like the word osmosis?" Earlobes deadpanned.
"Yup, don't even know what that shit means."
"Can we focus!?" Ponytail hissed. "We need to move towards the Ruin zone, Pony and Kirishima are there but they're the only two, and from what I can tell the largest congregation of villains is in that general area, they'll need help."
Katsuki was about to grumble and follow out of spite when Earlobes held up a hand. He growled, "What now?!"
"Do you guys hear that?" she asked, her Earlobes pointing up the mountain.
"Of course not, I don't have super hearing." Katsuki sassed causing her to frown and smack him on the back of the head with one of her jacks.
"There's a guy up on the mountain, he's making some really fucking weird vibrations."
Ponytail used that Dragon Ball Z toy on her head to look in the direction Earlobes had pointed out. "There's a heartbeat up on the peak…"
"So there's one shitty fucking nerd up there, doing something he shouldn't, huh?"
With that Katsuki started making his way to the peak as fast as he could, hands itching for a good scrap, his two sidekicks sighing as they followed a few meters behind him.
Katsuki had to say, today's been a lot more exciting than any rescue training.
Minoru was freaking the fuck out.
They weren't supposed to be fighting villains this early! Yeah, eventually, but not in their first week!
And to make matters worse, that Kurogiri guy dropped him into the Flood Zone. Now, Minoru knows how to swim, but his short arms and legs don't make him the fastest swimmer. And being fast seems kinda important when there is a man with a shark head trying to bite you in half!
'Shit, shit shit!' He tried to swim up, but the shark villain was quickly gaining on him, and he was running out of breath.
"You're mine midget- GAH!" Something fast came from the side and blindsided the villain, getting him off Minoru's tail.
As much as he was curious about what that was, he was quickly running out of oxygen, and the effort it took him to try and swim to the surface was a lot. He wasn't going to make it, he was too slow. His swimming became weaker as his arms and legs tired out until they eventually stopped.
'So… this is it, huh? Dammit, my death wasn't even badass.'
The lack of fresh oxygen was slowly making him black out, but before he could, he saw movement near the surface of the water. A single silhouette was seen swimming around until it spotted him and dashed towards him in the water. Minoru honestly lacked the oxygen to fear for his life at this point. He barely registered as whatever swam towards him grabbed him and quickly swam for the surface.
He wasn't too sure what happened directly after that and only came to when he felt himself hit the hard wooden floor. Immediately he started coughing up water, and after he was done with that he rolled onto his back and stared up at the sky, or in this case the USJ ceiling.
It was then that the most beautiful face showed up within his vision as it cleared.
"Kero, are you okay Mineta?"
"D… did you save me?" He sputtered, coughing out water as he did so.
She nodded "Of course, water rescue is my specialty. Kero."
"One last question…"
"Hit me."
"Are you an angel?"
She deadpanned at him, "Keep dreaming bud." Before helping him up. He was about to thank her when someone else approached from around a corner on the deck. They both got ready for a fight when they realized it was just Denki.
"Did the misty dude really have to teleport me here? I can't use my quirk here! Someone could die!"
"I don't think he really cared when he picked this place, Kaminari." Tsuyu said with a tilt of her head. "I'm pretty happy about it, I'm in my element, even if the waters are a bit salty."
"Yeah, well, we're lucky to have this boat." He patted the floor of the deck. "You know, me, water, and freaking the hell out do not mix well."
"Can't imagine why. Kero." Before either of them could react Tsuyu's tongue shot out and beaned an alligator man right between the eyes as he climbed up the side of the ship, causing him to fall back into the water. "Any ideas guys?"
Denki surprisingly was the one who nodded. "Yea when I got teleported here I got a good look at the control room while I was here, the boat's got fuel, she's just dead in the water, no keys in the ignition but I could probably hot-wire her, we could then use it to drive to the shore."
"Hotwire it with your quirk?" Tsuyu tilted her head, putting her index finger on her chin out of curiosity.
"Her, and no, I have to do it the old-fashioned way, my quirk would fry the circuitry."
"Do… do you even know how to drive a boat?" Minoru frowned. "Or even hot-wire a boat?"
"Can't be any harder than hot-wiring a car right?" Denki shrugged as he made his way to the helm of the ship.
"I… have several questions."
"Well, ask them when we get out. Kero." Her tongue grabbed another villain and slammed him into the side of the boat before dropping him. "We got to defend him while he does his thing."
Minoru inhaled and tried to be brave, throwing one of his sticky balls down at some of the people crawling up the side of the ship, sticking them to it. "Okay. I can do this. I can do this."
Just as he was getting his bearings and courage the Sharkman from before lept out of the water "You little shit!"
"I CAN'T DO THIS!" Minoru shouted as he started chucking ball after ball towards the shark, nailing him in the eyes and mouth, stopping his forward momentum entirely, and causing him to once again crash in the water.
"Okay, I think I've figured it out! Just a few more seconds!" Denki called from the helm.
"I think that's everyone, Kero. Good job, Mineta-Kun." Tsuyu complimented the smaller boy, who was currently trying not to hyperventilate from fear.
"Y… yea thanks Tsuyu."
"Tsu." She deadpanned before immediately jumping out of the way of a large Crocodile headed man slamming down onto the ship.
"Didn't we just knock you overboard!?" Minoru cried as he jumped away from him, throwing ball after ball at the man, only for him to dodge each of them perfectly.
"You racist punk! After I deal with froggy over there I'll move on to you! The guy you knocked over was an alligator! Alligator! I'm much more manly, I'm a crocodile!" He snapped his jaws at Tsuyu only for her to once again dodge "Stay still you damn cold-blooded bitch!"
Minoru quickly surveyed the side of the boat, in the time that this crocodile guy came on and started attacking them, Denki had managed to get it moving, and it seemed that most of the villains in the area had already been dealt with either by them after they had made it to the boat or by Tsuyu before she had rescued him.
Turning back to Tsuyu he noticed she was getting winded, her attacks weren't doing anything and she couldn't risk aiming for his head with her tongue, because each time she'd try the villain would snap at her tongue with his jaws, threatening to bite it off.
He tried figuring out what he could do. His quirk was almost used up, he felt his scalp burning even as he made an extra-sized ball in his hand. He analyzed his surroundings, trying to plan out a trajectory or point of attack but his fear was causing him to miscalculate and mess up.
He was about to cry out in frustration when Sensei's voice rang out in his head.
"Oh definitely, but I believe you can do it. Don't think I didn't notice today when you were making split-second calculations and adjustments to your throws and trajectory during our match." Flintlock smiled. "It takes a sharp mind to think on the fly like that. So believe me when I say that you can do it, you just need to put in the effort. Understand?"
Flintlock-Sensei believed he could be better, Tsuyu needed him to be better! He swallowed his fear and tried again, looking at all the angles he could, of every vector for a jump or bounce that he could. When he was finally satisfied that his attack would work, he lept.
If real life had pinball noises, he'd be making them right now. He bounced off a nearby rail, off the wall, off the floor, and when the villain went in for another attack, off the bottom of the villain's chin. He slammed the extra-sized sticky ball onto the villain's snout, preventing him from opening it as he and the crocodile went careening into the water below. Much to Tsuyu's dismay.
"Mineta!" Both Tsuyu and Denki yelled.
Tsuyu didn't even hesitate before jumping off the side of the boat and after them. She dove into the water and looked around, and spotted the croc villain dragging Minoru deeper into the water. Luckily, his snout was still held shut by Minoru's quirk, but that didn't stop his hands from strangling her poor classmate. Tsuyu rocketed through the water and planted a kick right into the villain's head, effectively knocking him out. She then grabbed Minoru and swam after where the boat went.
A few moments later, Tsuyu hopped out of the water and onto the boat, which had stopped near the edge of the water. She gently placed Minoru on the deck, Denki quickly running over.
"Holy shit, dude!" Denki joined Tsuyu by his side. Minoru was unconscious. They fretted over him for a second before a metaphorical light bulb lit up over Denki's head. "I've got an idea."
He placed his fist over Minoru's chest. "Please work please work please work!" He brought his fist down hard on it, and Minoru jolted and started coughing up large amounts of water. "Holy shit, I can't believe that worked!"
"Pretty sure that's not how you're supposed to do it. Kero." Tsuyu said as Minoru finished coughing up most of the water.
"Which is why I can't believe it worked!" Denki looked at his coughing friend. "Hey, bro, you still with us?"
Minoru coughed a bit more. "Yeah… god, my throat hurts."
Denki laughed. "That was crazy, man!"
"Hey, Tsu…" Minoru looked over at her with a goofy smile.
"Yeah Mineta-Kun?"
"Are you sure you're not an angel?" He asked, his grin not leaving his face even as he fell back onto the floor.
Tsuyu couldn't help the genuine laugh that she let out as she shook her head. "Dork. You almost died and you ask me that? Kero."
"Speaking of," Denki sat back against the railing, "I can't believe we didn't die. That was crazy."
"Yay, we did it…" Minoru tiredly held up a fist. "Good job team… I'm just gonna… gonna rest here for a minute…" His arm fell limp to his side.
"I think we all deserve a quick break. Kero." Tsuyu picked a spot against the wall and sat back.
Silence followed until it was broken by Denki.
"So… you guys wanna hear the story about how I hot-wired my dad's car when I was little?"
Both Minoru and Tsuyu looked at him in confusion.
"It was a dare." Denki elaborated with an embarrassed grin.
"Screw it, let's hear it, man." Minoru shrugged and let out a sigh as he tried to find the motivation to stand, but his body refused.
'Fine. The floor is more comfortable anyway.' He resigned himself to his position as Denki began telling his story.
The first thing Ochako did after everyone got warped was to check and see who was left. Admittedly, that wasn't a lot of people. Well over half of the class had vanished after Kurogiri's attack, including Pony, who a moment ago was right next to her. While Ochako worried about her friends, she knew they were all strong, that they'd be fine. They had to be.
But she and her remaining classmates had a bigger fish to worry about. That being Kurogiri, who was still with them.
"My, my. It seems a few flies have avoided my trap. No matter, I'll deal with you myself." He quickly started growing and expanding, getting ready for another move.
But before he could, Thirteen had stepped forward and pointed her finger at him. "Not this time!" The cap opened up, and a black hole formed within, it began sucking in everything in front of Thirteen, including the mist of Kurogiri.
"Well," Kurogiri growled, "that's quite troublesome."
"You may avoid physical attacks," Thirteen said, "but not even you can escape the power of a black hole!"
As his mist was being sucked away, Ochako swore she caught a glimpse of… something, within the mist.
But her focus turned to Kurogiri as he chuckled. "Neither can you, Thirteen." His misty mass started to shift and swirl, and soon he opened a warp gate in front of him, while another formed behind Thirteen.
The students all shouted in warning, and that's the only reason Thirteen could stop her quirk, but not before the power of it shredded up her back, leaving a gaping hole in her costume as she fell, incapacitated, to the floor.
"You may be a seasoned rescue hero," Kurogiri taunted, "but in a direct battle, you have little experience. That is why you're weak. Now," he set his eyes on the students. "On to the golden eggs."
Hanta shot out his tape to Thirteen's body and dragged her over to them, the front part of her suit still intact and protecting her while they dragged her. Rikido and Mezo moved to the front to put Kurogiri between them and their classmates, Tenya right behind them.
"I hope you understand," Kurogiri began, "The plan wasn't to kill you, students. We came for All Might, but he wasn't here. But, we went through all of this trouble, it'd be a shame to just leave without leaving a message. How unfortunate that the message will have to be your corpses, beaten, bloodied, broken, left for All Might to find."
Kurogiri's words shook the students. They weren't ready for any of this. The thought of their friends and classmates dying in front of them made them sick to their stomachs.
Exactly the reaction that Kurogiri wanted from them.
"All of you will die here."
"I need you to stay behind me." Shouto deadpanned as he unleashed a torrent of ice on the horde of villains in front of him.
He wasn't sure, but if he had to guess, Toru was pouting. "Why! I can fight too!"
"But you don't have to, that's the point." Shouto stepped aside to show Toru that all the villains had been trapped in his ice, effectively immobilized. He frowned at her. "I also don't want to accidentally hit you with my ice."
Toru sighed and slouched. "That's… fair enough."
He nodded and started making his way out of the landslide zone.
"Hey! Where are you going?!" Toru shouted as she ran after him. Just her luck that she had to end up with the boy whose personality was as cold as his quirk.
Well, may as well try to converse with the walking ice cube. "So, you think these villains actually thought they could take on All Might?"
"Overconfidence." He simply said before he paused in thought. "Though, if they were so certain that they even had a chance, then maybe they have someone with a strong quirk or a means of countering All Might's."
Toru looked over to the side to see more villains coming their way. "Why not ask those guys?"
Shouto hummed and looked their way. "Good idea."
Then he threw a glacier at them.
Katsuki was getting pissed off. These mooks just kept coming, and it was fun for a while but now it was getting on his nerves. He blew away another pair of extras as they tried to rush him, ignoring the shaking in his hands as he did so.
Plus Ultra and all that shit.
"Do you got eyes on that fuckin noise yet, Ponytail?" He growled out to said Ponytail, who was looking through her sniper rifle, following Earlobe's instructions as she called them out.
"No… he might be behind the peak? Or inside it?"
Katsuki flexed his hands, trying to get the shaking to stop but failing "I probably only have like one good explosion in me before my hands are shot, so you better be damn sure that this fucker is in the mountain before you make me blow it up."
"You know I could just… make some explosives, right?" Ponytail asked with a concerned frown.
"Yeah, but where's the fun in that?" Before she could answer, Katsuki scowled in her direction. "Yaoyorozu, duck!" She did as he said and he quickly punched out a fist, grabbing the man who swung at her and threw him down the mountain.
Earlobes chuckled, "I will never get tired of seeing you do that." And then she paused, "Wait, did you just…?"
"Call me by my proper name?" Momo finished a gleam in her eye.
"... No," Katsuki said with a blank face.
"You hesitated," Kyouka smirked.
"I didn't do shit. And I don't hesitate."
"You didn't call me 'Ponytail'!"
"You have no proof," Katsuki stated.
Momo reached up and tapped the side of her Scouter. "I recorded it. Have been recording this whole time."
"Fuck! Delete that shit!" Katsuki demanded.
Momo smirked and looked away, raising her chin up a bit. "No."
"Delete it!" He growled.
"I don't think I will. ~" She sang.
Meanwhile, Kyouka was so busy trying to contain her laughter at Katsuki getting worked up over something so petty, that she didn't notice the person sneaking up behind her.
"Kyouka/Jiro! Look out!" Momo and Katsuki shouted Momo raising her rifle and opening fire before Katsuki could even move, knocking the villain out cold with a well-placed shot to the forehead.
Kyouka let out a sigh of relief as she edged her way back towards the other two, before grinning at Katsuki. "You did it again, by the way."
"FUCK OFF! Now is not the time for this shit!"
Momo let out a quiet laugh as she stowed her rifle and shook her head. At least these two are keeping this situation interesting instead of horrifying…
Izumi pulled her bike to the side of the road, half a mile away from the entrance to the USJ. She took her helmet off and rubbed her eyes tiredly, she really should have taken her own advice, or at least tried to down the rest of that coffee.
"Sis, you okay?" Jin asked concerned from the passenger car, his mask scrunched up in worry.
"Yea, Jin Jin, I'm okay, just a bit tired."
"We can always turn arou –" He was cut off as a sound similar to a car's engine was heard coming from the USJ.
"What the…" Izumi trailed off as she saw a trail of smoke heading their way. "I'm pretty sure buses don't do that."
She zoomed in on the object with her eye, only to see it was Tenya running like a bat out of hell, panic, and fear on his face.
"Iida?" She got off the bike and walked into the middle of the road, raising her hand up to tell him to stop.
Thankfully Tenya saw her and immediately skid to a stop, legs glowing orange as he did so. How fast was he running? "Sensei! Villains at the USJ! Need to get to UA, get help!" Before Izumi could even unpack that can of worms Tenya tried to dash away, back towards UA.
Izumi was having none of that. She quickly placed a hand on his shoulder to ground him. "Calm down, and breath." She turned to Jin. "Check the side of your car there should be some water in there, grab both of us one." Jin nodded and did so, throwing two ice-cold water bottles at both of them. "Drink, I'll try to contact UA and tell them what's going on."
She put her helmet back on and focused, pulling Nezu's number up with her HUD. She made the call, but she wasn't getting a signal.
"Damn, we're being jammed. Alright, new plan. Jin, drop me off at the USJ and then take the bike and Iida back towards the school until you get a signal, then contact Nezu." Izumi ordered as she put on her helmet and hopped into the sidecar, letting Jin drive.
"Roger!" Jin started up the bike and looked at Tenya. "Sit tight, I'll be right back. You're on your own kid!"
With that, Jin sped off the last stretch of distance to the USJ, Izumi getting ready to jump.
"Ten seconds out!" Jin called "I hope you have your seatbelt!"
Izumi chuckled and readied herself "Today sure is interesting isn't it, Jin?" Jin didn't have time to answer as Izumi immediately rolled off the moving bike, while Jin turned and headed back for Tenya and the main school. After getting her bearings Izumi stood and pulled out an M4 rifle from seemingly nowhere.
"Alright, let's go see what idiots signed their death warrants."
"Go, Iida!" Ochako yelled as she threw Kurogiri away. She knew there was something solid in the mist, she had seen it before. She canceled its gravity with her quirk and threw it, along with Kurogiri, giving Tenya the opportunity he needed to get out. She watched as he pried the doors open and slipped through before they slammed shut behind him, the sound of his engines firing as he took off towards the direction of UA.
"Damn you!" Kurogiri growled from his position in the air. "I must inform Shigaraki." He then disappeared, teleporting away.
"Is that… i-is that it?" Mina asked, having stayed by Thirteen's unconscious body. "Did… did we win?!"
"I think we just kicked his ass!" Hanta cheered, and so did Mina. Rikido and Mezo high-fived.
Ochako let out a long sigh of relief. "We should-"
Whatever she said was cut off as another one of Kurogiri's portals opened in front of the entrance to the USJ, and out came a dozen villains.
Ochako stared in disbelief. "Oh, come the fuck on!" She yelled in frustration.
"So, you're the punks Kurogiri was having trouble with?" The villain at the front scoffed. "Didn't your parents ever teach you your manners? Guess we'll have to do it instead." With that, they approached the students. "Let's make this quick, gang. I wanna be down in the plaza when Shigaraki unleashes Nomu."
"You wanna go?!" Rikido yelled as he took out multiple sugar packets and consumed all of their contents. His body grew a little as his muscles bulged. "Let's go!" With a battle cry, he charged right at the villains, Mezo following to give him backup.
For a minute, they held their own against the bigger villains, but these guys were a cut above the rest. Judging by their synergy, they had worked together before.
A few villains slipped by them and headed towards the group around Thirteen.
"Mina, stay with Thirteen!" Ochako yelled, not exactly meaning to take charge, but she wasn't really thinking. "Sero, let's get 'em!"
"I'm right with you!" Hanta yelled as he got his tape ready, Mina meanwhile getting ready to lobe acid if anyone got close to her.
Ochako got into her own battle stance, hoping that those after-school lessons with Flintlock-Sensei would pay off here.
Meanwhile, Katsuki, Momo, and Kyouka were still searching for the villain in the mountains.
"Where the fuck is he?! You said he was here!" Katsuki turned to his allies.
"He should be here somewhere." Momo groaned. "My Scouter is glitching out, so whatever they're using to jam communications must be here."
"Fuck this." Katsuki launched himself at the wall of the mountain.
"Bakugou! Wait!"
"DIE!" He let off an explosion with enough power to blow the wall apart. He casually walked up, hands shaking prepared to fight whoever came out of the rubble. After a few seconds of waiting with nothing or no one showing up he scoffed.
"Ow!" Kyouka held her hands over her ears. "Dude, a little warning next time, yeah?!"
"I gave you a warning," Katsuki turned back to them. "I yelled 'die'."
"That's a battle cry, not a warning, asshole!"
"I'm not apologizing, because both of you dragged me up here to hunt for an extra that's not even here!" Katsuki gestured around them, before hissing and massaging his hands. "And now my fucking hands are cramping up. Dammit!"
Momo was about to offer to create medical supplies when movement in the dust caught her attention. "Bakugou look out!"
Sadly, her warning was a bit too late, and a hand reached out and grabbed Katsuki by the throat.
From the smoke came a skull-masked man, his body pulsing with electricity every few seconds. "Didn't expect some snot-nosed little shit's coming to find me all the way up here." When Kyouka and Momo looked like they were about to move to attack him, the man squeezed Katsuki's neck causing him to let out a choked scream.
"I wouldn't move if I were you girlies, my quirk lets me absorb electricity and use it for my benefit." Katsuki began to spasm in his hand and the man laughed "As we speak this little shit is having the electricity slowly and painfully sucked out of his body, he can't even move because of it!"
Momo gasped "Stop it! You'll kill him!"
But the villain just snorted and shook his head. "No shit, Sherlock." The electrical current around him increased, "That's the point."
Momo quickly leveled her rifle and fired a rubber round at the villain's forehead, knocking his head back, but his skull mask reduced the bullet's damage. The villain slowly brought his head back down to level with the two girls and he laughed, laughed at Momo's efforts.
"Nice try girlie but your gonna have to try harder than that!" He squeezed once more and Katsuki's spasming started getting worse as he let out a strained scream.
Kyouka didn't know what to do honestly, she didn't have a ranged option, and she didn't have it in her to make another earthquake like she had earlier… especially with them on the top of this mountain; she didn't even know if doing so would cause the damn thing to collapse or not. Most likely with how fast her heart was beating right now. She was about to ask Momo what to do when she noticed the taller girl unload the gun's magazine and eject the rubber bullet, before placing a new one in, pulling back the bolt to load a fresh bullet into the barrel.
"These aren't rubber rounds anymore, they're lethal." She fired a shot at the man's feet, a much louder crack filling the air, as well as the noticeable metal twang of a bullet ricocheting off rocks causing Kyouka's eyes to widen and the Villain to lessen his electrical draining. "Let him go, now, or the next one is going through your skull."
"Momo…" Kyouka whispered fearfully, while the Villain started chuckling.
"Well now! This bitch's got some bark!" He amped up the electricity again "But I don't believe you girly, You don't have the stones!"
He maneuvered Katsuki to place his whole body between him and Momo, and purposefully only left his head exposed. "Go on then! Take the shot! Make your choice, hero! You wanna shoot me, you either do it up here in my head, or you shoot through your friend!"
Momo gritted her teeth as she kept her sights trained on the villain's head. He called her bluff; she was never going to actually shoot him. Her hands shook a little as Katsuki was still being slowly killed. "You don't think I'll do it?!" She tried again.
"Oh, I know you won't. You brats don't have the guts to kill someone. Though, I could always be wrong." He laughed as he shocked Katsuki a little, just to make him scream. "Tell me, am I wrong? Take the shot!"
"Momo! Don't!" Kyouka yelled beside her. "This is fucking insane!"
"I…" Momo's hands shook more. "I'm warning you!"
"Warning received, and ignored! Do it!" The villain yelled, enjoying this all too much, his voice manic.
"Momo!" Kyouka yelled in warning again. They couldn't kill. Heroes don't kill.
Momo's eyes briefly drifted towards Katsuki, who wouldn't last much longer. She didn't know what to do. What does she do?! Too much was happening at once! The villain's taunts, Kyouka yelling, Katsuki dying. What does she do?! Her classmate is going to die because of her!
Not seeing any other choice, her mind clouded by fear and panic, her finger began to squeeze the trigger…
A moment later, there was a crack, followed by a red mist as a hole was blown through the man's skull.
Everyone stood frozen as time seemed to stop. The spell was only broken as the villain's grip loosened and he dropped Katsuki to the ground, the blonde gasping for air and barely able to move. The villain soon followed, falling limp to the ground and continued to lay there, unmoving, save for a few twitches, not breathing, lifeless.
Kyouka screamed, jumping at the sight and looking away, desperately trying not to throw up as she shouted out, "Momo what the fuck!?"
Momo stared at the body with wide eyes, dropping the gun to the ground. "I… I-I didn't…"
Katsuki looked at the villain's body, then turned to Momo. "You… didn't have to… to do that for me… Yaoyorozu…"
"I… didn't…" Momo repeated herself. "I didn't do it…"
Crackling in her ear caused Momo to jump, forgetting that she had her comms on in the first place, was that villain jamming the comms?
A cool voice spoke up in her ear, calm, collected… detached. "I know you didn't, Yaoyorozu, I did." the voice should have reassured her, it should have calmed her down the moment she recognized it as her Sensei…
All it did though, was cause Momo's heart to fill with fear.
Logically, she knew Flintlock used guns; she had seen her use them to great effect during training! But seeing them used to such lethal effect? Right in front of her? Snipe didn't kill… Why did she?
She tried to ask as much, raising a hand to her scouter, trying desperately to keep her shaking down "Sensei…" but she was cut off.
"Get your asses off that mountain now. Regroup with your classmates and get the fuck out of here. Keep watching each other's backs and stay safe." The comm cut out with a hiss of static and Momo with tearful eyes and shaky breath relayed Flintlock's orders.
Katsuki stood on shaking legs and stared blankly at Momo for a second as if he couldn't believe what she was saying… Before he turned to the villain's body, closing his eyes for a moment before turning away, making his way down the mountain.
"Be better in your next life." He softly whispered "Come on guys, let's do what Izumi told us to… I don't want to be on this fucking mountain longer than I have to be."
As he tried to walk, he stumbled a bit, still weak from the torment he went through moments ago. Luckily his teammates caught him.
"Here man, I've got you." Kyouka got under his armpits and helped hold him up using her shoulder.
"I don't need your fucking help," Katsuki hissed, but there wasn't much bite to his voice.
"Correction, you don't want our help. But I don't feel like chasing your ass if you fall down this mountain, so shut up, suck it, and let's get the hell off this giant rock." Kyouka snarked, as she tried to move past what had just happened moments ago.
Momo wasn't doing much better, as she sort of just stared off as she also helped Katsuki walk.
She left her rifle on the floor where she had dropped it, and none of them brought it up again on the way down.
Kyouka couldn't handle the silence though. "You know, before all of this, I considered maybe trying some mountain climbing." She shook her head. "Yeah, not anymore. Fuck that noise."
"Don't let some shit like this stop you," Katsuki whispered "It means they win, fuck that shit."
Momo didn't contribute at all, eyes forward as they made their way down the mountain.
They came to the USJ as kids, pretending to be heroes. But honestly? Momo didn't know what they were leaving as…
A few moments earlier.
Izumi tried the doors, not expecting them to open, which they didn't. Sighing she contemplated how to get in, before determining that with how thick the door itself was, she'd need something stronger than just plastic explosives.
Again, seemingly out of nowhere she pulled out a rolled-up flat object and quickly rolled it out on the door. Once that was done she pulled out a small detonator and backed up a few feet, before whispering out "Really big fucking hole, coming right up." and pressing the button.
The flat object started sparking as it lit up with thermite, cutting through the wall for a moment before exploding, leaving a perfectly square hole in the door. Quickly breaching through the hole, her HUD tagged all hostiles that were covering the front entrance. She brought up her rifle to bear and quickly opened fire on all of them, with non-lethal ammo, of course. Izumi knew all the right places to hit to make her shots hurt like a bitch. In less than five seconds, there were around a dozen villains laying on the ground, all groaning as they held different parts of their bodies.
Izumi walked through the smoke created by her entrance and saw five of her students, whose faces all lit up with relief upon seeing that it was her.
"Sensei!"
"Anyone hurt?" Izumi got straight to it as she glanced over her students for any obvious injuries, relieved to find they all seemed unharmed.
"Just Thirteen." Ochako told her, motioning to the space hero who they had patched up with Hanta's tape, then the weight of the situation seemed to catch up as Ochako's breathing became shaky. "Flintlock-Sensei… the villains… they…"
"Hey, it's alright, backup is on the way." Izumi stood and looked down into the central plaza, only to see Aizawa still fighting off villains, a few clearly having been knocked out by the Underground Hero, but there were still plenty more. "You all did great, stay here while Aizawa and I clean house. Stay brave."
She was about to head down to the plaza to support her co-worker, but then something popped up on her HUD. An electrical spike pinged in the Mountain Zone.
She pulled a sniper rifle out of nowhere and set her sights on where the ping was coming from. Her eyes widened at what she saw in the scope.
Katsuki was being choked out, seemingly shocked to death, Momo and Kyouka were being forced to watch… Momo took aim with her own rifle and fired, causing the villain to flinch but ultimately not doing anything with her non-lethal ammo.
Izumi watched her students, she watched them struggle to find a way out of the situation they were in. She watched as Momo unloaded the non-lethal ammunition from her own rifle and loaded something new; she assumed it was lethal rounds, and once more threatened the villain.
"Yaoyorozu, what are you doing?" She whispered to herself.
She watched as the mother fucker laughed and threw what Izumi now realized was Momo's bluff in her face.
Sighing through her nose, she thought about the litany of Japanese protocols that she had to learn before she came back. She learned how Japan abhorred lethal force outside of B – Class Villains or above, and she learned how hard it was to get out of murder charges when you killed as a hero. She learned all of these things, and even listened to warning after warning from Toshi, Uncle Han, and from Aunty Kaina…
Izumi wasn't much of a rule follower though, and she wasn't about to let Katsuki die for the sake of some mother fucker who had signed his death warrant the moment he lay a finger on who was basically her little brother. She wasn't about to force Momo, her student, into making the impossible choice. To soil her hands in the blood of another so early.
So Izumi would do it for her.
She ejected the magazine, as well as the chambered bullet from her sniper rifle, and quickly, efficiently loaded a new one in. She ignored Ochako's confused "Sensei?" as she scoped back in, zeroing her shot and lining it up perfectly. She had yet to miss a shot on a stationary target during her entire time as a Pro-Hero, she wasn't about to start now.
She didn't bother answering the girl's question, instead, she let out a gruff "Plug your ears, now." and gave them a second to comply before firing.
Her rifle let out a loud, thunder crack as it fired.
A bullet left the chamber and a few seconds later the son of a bitch holding Katsuki by his throat fell to the ground dead.
Her students on the mountain started freaking out, obviously not used to the sight of a person's head exploding. Izumi was about to signal to them when her radio picked up multiple different frequencies. It seemed the bastard had been blocking radio frequencies with his quirk somehow.
Two birds with one stone she supposed.
She immediately picked Momo's frequency and could hear her crying out "I… I didn't…" She let out a cry "I didn't do it…"
Izumi chose that moment to speak up, to nip that in the bud immediately "I know you didn't, Yaoyorozu, I did."
Momo gasped and shakily asked a question, but Izumi didn't have time for it, comforting her students could come later, she needed to save everyone and the kid's gloves had already come off.
"Get your asses off that mountain now. Regroup with your classmates and get the fuck out of here. Keep watching each other's backs and stay safe." She cut the feed after that and immediately swapped it to the frequency the faculty UA was using. She had to make her report fast, so she could quickly go help Aizawa before he was overwhelmed.
"This is Flintlock, an unknown group of villains have infiltrated the USJ. I don't know if Iida has already warned you, Nezu, but if not, you need to get here yesterday." She turned to where Aizawa was. "Eraserhead is handling himself but Thirteen is incapacitated. A student's life was threatened, so as per my contract with UA lethal force was allowed at that moment, I will not be holding back." She didn't let anyone talk as she continued with her cold dictation. "Anyone found threatening a student the moment I get off this communication will be seen as a lethal threat and will be handled accordingly."
Someone immediately tried to object, Flintlock thought it was Vlad, though the quality of the audio made it sketchy "What? No! You can't just…" but he was cut off by Nezu hopping on the frequency.
"Keep the deaths to a minimum unless you absolutely have to, Flintlock, We will be there as soon as possible, any word on All Might? Why is he not at the USJ?"
Flintlock sighed and muted her helmet's external microphone to prevent the students from hearing "I told him to take it easy, he was out of time."
"I see, my orders still stand, keep the killing to a minimum."
"Nezu!" This time it was Ectoplasm who interjected, but he was ignored.
"Roger that, Flintlock out." With that Izumi disconnected the frequency and unmuted herself. She turned to her students who were looking at her fearfully and she sighed.
She dismissed her rifle, disappearing in a flash of green particles. The particles reappeared, assembling themselves into a SPAS shotgun that Izumi quickly inspected to make sure it was fully loaded. She nodded and put the shotgun on her back; she turned to Ochako and with the same particles pulled another shotgun out and handed it to the gravity girl.
"That's a capture gun, it's loaded with capture ammunition, point it at the bad guys' center of mass, shoot and they should be down for the count." She then pulled out an ammo belt in the same flash of particles and threw it to Ochako. "That has about fifty shells on it, you should be good for the rest of this fucked up situation."
The students stared with wide eyes as the weapons appeared as if teleported. "How did…?" Mina started to ask, only for Izumi to stop her with a held-up hand.
"That's my secret. Maybe I'll tell after this all is over.." She then turned and made her way towards the central plaza, grabbing the shotgun off of her back.
"Sensei…" Ochako began. "Are you… are you gonna do it again?"
Izumi glanced at Ochako, her helmet hiding her face. "... Only if I have to."
She turned back to the stairs leading to the mass group of villains.
"Hopefully, I won't."
With that, she cocked her shotgun and jumped into the fray.
AN Part 2: Professor Donger: Another chapter down! I hope you all enjoy it. This one didn't take nearly as long as the last one but it was still a bit of a struggle to write if I'm being honest, though Katsuki was a lot of fun to write in it.
Damian02: USJ isn't over yet, but everything is going to be fine... right? Regardless, I'd say the next chapter is gonna be fun, but that's every chapter for us. Oh, and we hope you liked the art as well! Till next time!
