For the next 2 months, Hetty and Granger continued to get to know each other.

He showed up to see her cut the ribbon at openings, she showed up to see a couple of his speeches. They even tried to go fishing once, which led to both of them ending up in the water when Hetty tried to fish him out of the lake.

1 night at Lake Leanne, Granger offered to cook for Hetty at his cabin, and she said yes.

The cabin in Birkdale woods the next day

'If I may add sir, is this a date?' Luke asked.

'No, it's not. We're just friends. Hand the chickens over.' Granger replied.

'Do you even know how to deep fry? Because last I checked, you don't have much cooking experience.'

'Look, I asked the main chef at the castle how to work the deep fryer, and I'm sure I got it down. Now set the table, she'll be here soon.'

Later

'Wow. You look great!' Granger said when he saw Hetty's very red suit.

'Thank you! I made doubly sure I wasn't being tracked by anyone. And for personal reasons, I told Mark to stay back.' Hetty replied.

'Well come in! Dinner will be ready soon.'

She couldn't help but notice how clean the cabin looked compared to how it looked 2 months ago.

'You clean up this place good.' She remarked.

'Thanks!'

'Uh sir, I think you need to check the deep fryer.' Luke whispered.

When Granger went out, Hetty looked around, and saw some photos of him and Luke. And 1 with another man.

'Must be his father.' She thought.

Then a huge explosion pierced the air.

'What was that?!' She started to rush out to the yard when Luke blocked the door.

'I assure you, Miss Hetty, Owen has this under control!' Luke talked fast.

Except Hetty could clearly hear Granger yelling 'Damn it!' over and over and throwing stuff in anger.

'Luke, let me through, or I'll personally wrestle you out of the way!' She threatened.

'He, doesn't have much cooking experience. And he wanted to impress you by trying to deep fry chickens.'

'Oh? Well, that was really sweet of him.'

'When he's out here and he's ticked, there's a quiet place he goes to to think.' Luke then told her where to go.

At a quiet waterfall

Granger was sitting on a bench feeling terrible when he turned and saw Hetty.

'You okay?' She asked.

'If by okay, you mean 'completely embarrassed', then no.' Granger grumbled.

'I'm really touched that you tried to impress me, I've never had anyone blow up chickens in a deep fryer for me.'

Light chuckle. 'You must think I'm really stupid.'

'No, no I don't. I think you tried to do something nice, even though you had no idea what you were doing, because you wanted to impress a nice person.' Hetty said.

Giving her a soft look. 'You really think that?'

She walked over to him and put her hand on his shoulder. 'Yes, I do.'

He was so touched by her kindness, he actually thought of kissing her in that moment. But he held off.

'How about I make dinner? I know a few skills.' Hetty asked.

'That'd be very nice.' Granger replied.
