Spider-Man: LOUD Season 1 Chapter 10

"Under the City"

Sirens were all the Louds could hear. Loud, repetitive, annoying sirens. It was as if the Earth had stood still, "Lincoln…Lincoln?" The black haired goth member of the Loud family turned her head looking for her white haired brother, but he was nowhere to be seen.

Lincoln bursts into his bedroom and grabs his suit, "I should've been looking this entire time!" He grunts angrily to himself.

He strips out of his street clothes and dawns his red and blue suit once more, leaping out of the tiny window of his bedroom, swinging toward where Lana was last seen.

"It's all my fault! I put hanging out with a girl who probably doesn't even like me above being Spider-Man!" He berates himself.

He sees the sewer opening just below him, his family to the right of it and cops swarming the outside, yellow police tape adorning the opening. He free falls for a while before shooting a web toward the top of the opening, swinging directly into the sewer.

"Spider-Man, get out of there! This is police business!" An officer shouted from beyond the wall.

"No…not anymore…" The costumed hero thinks to himself.

He walks deeper into the cold cavernous sewer, a long puddle of brownish green water between his feet. The dark caverns were difficult to navigate for normal people, but with his Spider-Sense it made traversing the dark more than manageable.

Almost an hour had passed by of him walking aimlessly throughout the sewer, before coming across a giant hole in at the end of the tunnel, too deep to see the bottom.

"Correct me if I'm wrong…but sewers don't normally have giant bottomless pits that people could just fall down."

He takes a short stop to look around at the surrounding area, noticing a long rope trailing down the side.

"Lana has to be down there somewhere…whoever…or whatever took her has to have taken her down there." He says to himself.

"Nothing ventured, nothing gained!"

He backed up a little before running toward the giant hole, leaping down, putting his face ahead of his body to fall faster.

"I don't know how deep this tunnel goes. Considering people in my orientation fall at around 180 miles per hour depending on certain variables such as weight, and considering that this tunnel probably hasn't been here for long, I'd say I'm nearing the bottom soon." He thinks to himself.

As if right on cue the bottom of the tunnel made its way into his view, a giant dirty pool of water. He extended his arm and shot a web toward the curve in the ceiling and swung onto a small ledge people use as a walkway. He stands up and starts to look around him.

The large sewer tunnel seemed to never end in both directions. Pipes adorned the brick and mortar tunnel walls.

He kneeled to the ground, extending his fingers to touch it. "Focus." He closes his eyes to avoid any further distractions.

He sits in silence for a while, waiting for something to happen. Suddenly his Spider-Sense goes off, directing him down a specific path in the maze. He opens his and sprints from his kneeling position in the direction his 6th sense tells him.

Jordan stepped out of the bathroom, having just showered for the night. She wore a white tank top and yellow pajama bottoms. "Night mom!" she shouts to the living room.

"Good night!" her mother shouts back.

She enters her bedroom and shuts the door behind her. She walks over to her bed before sitting down on it, "Finally." She exclaims to herself before peeling off her pajama bottoms to reveal a dark blue high leg thong.

She throws the pants to the other side of the room into a dirty clothes basket. She rolls over onto her pillow and picks up her phone to see a notification.

"You still up?" ‐ Rachel

She taps on the notification to be brought to the messenger app.

"Yeah, why?" - Jordan

"Apparently something big is happening over at a sewer opening, some girl got kidnapped and brought down there." - Rachel

"Damn, I feel bad for her family. Hope she gets out safely." - Jordan

"I guarantee she will, Spider-Man is down there trying to rescue her." - Rachel

"Oh…cool." - Jordan

"Oh yeah, sorry for bringing up past trauma." - Rachel

"You're fine." - Jordan

"Jordan, come see this!" Her mother's voice calls her from the living room.

Jordan puts her phone down and exits her bedroom to see the TV turned onto the news channel, her mother on the couch watching.

"The little girl that's been trapped inside the sewer has been identified as 11 year old Lana L. Loud, a 5th grader at Royal Woods Elementary School." The newscaster stated.

Jordan's eyes widened in fear, recognizing the name.

"Oh no…" She whispered to herself.

"Uh…Jordan?" Her mother says, interrupting her daughter's thoughts.

Jordan snaps back to reality and looks at her mom, "What?"

"You um…you're not wearing any pants sweetie." The older girl reminded her daughter.

She grew a blush across her face and looked down to confirm that she indeed was not wearing pants.

"I-I'm so sorry!" Jordan screams behind her hands as they cover her face.

"It's fine, we're both girls here, just…" her mother pauses for a second, "Those look a little mature…did you maybe, buy these to impress someone? A boy perhaps?"

The young girl's blush grows even redder, "N-no! Don't be ridiculous! I don't-I don't have…sex…or anything like that…" she goes from a shout to a whisper.

"So what boy is it for?" The older woman asks.

"It isn't for a boy! I just find it comfortable!" She shouts.

"Ooh! Is it for that white haired boy? Oh what was his name…Lincoln! Is it for Lincoln?" Her mother asks in excitement.

"No! He's just a friend! We don't see each other in that way!" Jordan insists.

"Ah, a shame. He's cute." The woman calms down.

"Good night mom…" Jordan leaves her mom as she enters her room and presses her back to the door, sliding down it.

Jordan sits at her door for a while, pondering. "Why does she have to make such a big deal out of these things?!" She questions.

"Just because I wear more mature underwear doesn't mean I'm trying to seduce someone! I just find pants uncomfortable to sleep in, that's all!"

She grabs the end of her hair and pulls it over her right shoulder, stroking it out of nerve, "I mean, she didn't say I was trying to impress boys when I got these C Cups did she? No! Of course she didn't!"

She sat there for a few more minutes before standing up and making her way back over to her bed and crashing onto it. She grabbed her wireless earbuds and popped them into each ear before turning on her usual playlist, closing her eyes after she did so.

Spider-Man walked carefully through the endless tunnels of the sewer. He walked past gated off branching tunnels, and unknowing to him, a creature crept past these gates, watching him.

He walked slowly but surely, following where his Spider-Sense guided him. Suddenly it started blaring, alerting him to a presence above him. He quickly turned around before being pounced on, pinned to the ground by a giant green lizard creature wearing a torn up white lab coat. It roared at him causing his ears to ring.

"DON'T EVEN BOTHER TRYING TO STOP ME!" It spoke to him in a booming deep voice, "I'M GETTING STRONGER EVERYDAY!" It quickly lowered its large claws onto his chest and dragged down, tearing through his suit and his skin.

He screamed in pain as he kicked up at the beast hard enough to push it off him. He flipped backward onto his feet, at least 50 feet from the lizard creature.

He stood in a fighting stance, ready for anything the creature would throw at him. He glanced to the left of it to find a valve with an opening under it. He quickly shot a web at the valve and yanked, turning it a quick and continuous stream of steam blasted it in the face causing it to close its eyes and turn away in pain as it screeched.

He dashed up quickly to the beast and started laying into its large muscular torso, but it stayed unmoving, it quickly slammed its hand into his chest, carrying him and pinning him to the wall. He struggled in its grasp as it reached its other hand to him.

"STOP RIGHT THERE!" A voice called from ahead, a team of S.W.A.T. soldiers running in.

"FIRE!" The one in front orders the others.

They open fire on the lizard creature, pelting it with assault rifle ammo, causing the beast to drop Spider-Man and rush backward out of view.

Spider-Man dropped to the floor and rested his head on the wall behind him, gripping his chest wound in pain, breathing heavily. A hand is extended to him, he looks up and takes it, being pulled up by a soldier.

He looks the man in the eyes, "What…what was that thing?"

The soldier looked at him, "I was just about to ask you the same thing. You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine…it'll be gone tomorrow anyways." The red and blue hero looked at where the beast ran off, breathing heavily.

"There's people down here, we're here to rescue them. You coming with?" The soldier asks.

"Wouldn't be down here if my answer was no." The young hero responded.

The soldier nodded before ordering his men to follow him, causing the young man to follow next to the man.

"This may be a long shot but, do you have any clue where those people may be being kept?" The soldier asked him.

"This may sound crazy, but yeah." He responded.

"Really?" The soldier asked.

"Again, this might sound crazy, but I have this thing that's telling me where they might be. Like this…intuition." He replied.

"Please let me go down there! I need to look for my baby girl!" Rita pleads with the officer blocking her from going under the police tape.

"No can do ma'am. We can't have any unnecessary casualties." The officer replied in a stern tone.

"Casualties? My daughter will NOT be a casualty!" The mother said in a slightly louder and angrier tone.

"No no of course! I mean out of potential casualties. There's no reason to have more people in danger than necessary." The officer put his hands up in a defensive gesture.

The sun had already set, the night was young. "Mom?" the woman felt a tug on her shirt sleeve.

She looked down to be greeted with Lola, tears forming in her eyes, "Is…is Lana gonna die?"

The tears in her eyes grow larger, her mascara already starting to run. She's picked up by her mother and hugged, "No no no no, Lana's gonna be okay honey, none of these fine men would ever let anything bad happen to your sister." She assured her little pageant queen.

Lola hugged her mother tightly, tears running down her cheeks, she knew Lana probably wouldn't die, but that was the thing. Probably. There was a probable chance of her dying, or being injured so badly that she wouldn't be the same person anymore. This scared her. The thought of her only twin being hurt or worse because of something out of her control made her angry and scared.

"Are they still here?" A voice came from behind.

The Loud's turned around to find Lincoln's friend group consisting of Stella, Rusty, Clyde, Liam, and Zack running toward them.

"Stella, Clyde, Rusty, Zack, Liam, what are you guys doing here?" Lynn Sr. questioned the young teens.

"We're here because we heard Lana was in trouble!" Clyde said.

"So we came to support Lincoln emotionally." Stella added.

"Speaking of Lincoln, where is he?" Rusty asked.

"We don't know! He disappeared a few hours ago." Lynn Jr. answered.

"That's troubling." Stella said, putting a hand up to her chin.

"You're tellin' me!" Lynn Sr. exclaimed.

"He better get back here, whatever he's doing isn't nearly as important as this!" Lisa said.

Spider-Man walked through the tunnels with the soldiers to his side, he stopped to point out large scratch marks on the wall, "Scratch marks, the cement beneath is dry, he was here not too long ago."

They walk a little further before coming across a fork in the road. "Where does your intuition tell you to go this time?" The soldier asked the red and blue suited hero.

"Not sure, it can be pretty indecisive sometimes." The young man responded.

"That's annoying." The soldier replied.

"You have no idea." He said quickly.

They stood in silence for a while, pondering what to do.

"Okay, you take the right path, we'll take the left." The armored man said.

"How will I contact you?" Spider-Man asked.

The man reached into his side pouch and pulled out a spare Walkie-Talkie and handed it to him.

"Use this, push this button to talk to me, and this button to send me your coords so we can find you faster." He explained.

"Well, isn't that handy?"

"Good luck Spider-Man, I hope you find those people." The soldier told him.

"Thanks, good luck to you too." He responded.

They split ways, Spider-Man taking the route to the right. He walked alone in the dark, noises of water, rats, and such being the only thing that surrounded him. After a few minutes of walking he came across a more open area. Lights were strewn about the place on cheap wires and a desk lay in a corner with a laptop on top.

He walked up to the desk slowly, seeing that the laptop was already logged in. A single app was open, files. Moving the trackpad over to the files application he pulled it up and clicked on the most recent video.

This is Curt Conners, I've stumbled upon a scientific breakthrough." The scientist speaks.

"Mr. Conners?" Spider-Man says to himself in mild shock.

"Lizards are the answer, they always were. My missing arm has been restored via lizard dna. But not just my missing arm. I've become stronger, faster, bigger, I've become a species that finally trumps humans in the evolutionary chain."

Spider-Man watches intently, never faltering.

"I need to share this gift to the world, but in order to keep the transformation permanent more testing is needed. I've found that younger humans tend to hold the transformation for longer. Older test subjects such as myself can't hold it for longer than a few hours at most, whereas younger subjects have been found to hold the transformation for days."

"No…you didn't…" The young hero's eyes grew wide.

"More testing is needed, but I'm running out of subjects. I've been taking more and more people from the surface to test on them. People who are invading my personal space in the sewer, even people walking around at night are fair game to me now."

"Oh shit…" He whispers to himself.

"After I show my research to the world we'll be unstoppable, everybody will change, everybody will finally see how superior we can be as a species."

He closes the laptop and backs up, "I have to hurry now, there isn't much time left…"

He turns toward the only way forward, "Don't worry Lana, I'm almost there."
