Spider-Man: LOUD Season 1 Chapter 11

"Man vs Monster"

"Lizards…of course it was lizards…" The young hero mumbles to himself, "I need to get an update on where he's keeping them."

He kneels onto the moist cement of the dimly lit sewer floor and puts his fingers to it, closing his eyes.

"HELP!" A faint vocal wave is picked up.

He opens his eyes and stands up looking around, "What?" He says with squinting eyes, "That sounded like it was right on top of me…"

He slowly looks down at the ground, "Or…below me…" He stares at the ground for a few seconds, "Am I really gonna do this?" he asks himself rhetorically, "Yes, yes I am."

He kneels on the ground once again and places one hand down and raises the other in a fist, he takes a deep breath, and then slams his fist down onto the ground cracking it beneath his fist. Then he does it again, and again, and again, and again. The floor breaks away slowly, the vocal wave getting stronger with each hit.

He delivers one final blow against the ground and the small surrounding area breaks away beneath him dropping him into a giant empty cylinder shaped room. He takes one good look around, "Has this been beneath Royal Woods this entire time?"

As he looks around he spots a jail cell like door. He runs toward it, climbing up the wall. Once reaching the cell door he looks inside to find plenty of people, most of which are children. "Hey, hey!" He says in a whisper-like tone as to not scare them.

One girl opens her eyes and looks at him, her eyes widen at the sight of him, small tears forming in the corners of her eyes, "Oh my god…" she whispers.

"I'm here to get you guys out of here." He looks quizzically at the girl, "What's your name?"

"Tiffany." The young girl replies.

"Alright Tiffany, you know a way to open this thing?" He asks.

She shakes her head no, much to the web-heads dismay. He looks further into the cage-like room and spots her, the one who drove him here…he found Lana.

He pulls out the walkie-talkie from his utility belt and pushes the button, "Hey, this is Spider-Man, I've found where everyone is. Over."

A second passes by before a voice comes back over. "Spider-Man, I hear you loud and clear, send your coords so we can find where you are. Over."

He looks at the device and pushes the button the soldier told him to push when suddenly his Spider-Sense started blaring, he looked up to react before he was suddenly pounced on by the giant lizard beast once more. He's thrown onto the floor below with the beast leaping off the wall and landing 50 feet in front of him.

Spider-Man gets into a fighting stance, "Alright Michelangelo, let's finish this."

The Lizard jumps at him and swipes his giant claw, Spider-Man jumps to the side and shoots a web onto the beast, he yanks himself closer to the beast and punches it square in the face.

"Weak." The green giant says in a mocking tone.

It palms the teen hero in the chest, sending him flying back. He lands on his back and flips back onto into a crouched position.

"I've gotta hit him with more force. I can't just let him walk all over me this time." He says to himself.

"You must listen to me! We can be stronger! We can be better! Just let me cure them! We can all be a stronger race of people together!" The Lizard exclaims.

"Yeah and be green and scaly? No thanks!" Spider-Man retorts.

He quickly shifts into a standing position and fires a web ball at the beast, it deflects the web projectile but fails to anticipate it being a distraction, as Spider-Man's followed up on it using all the strength his arm and fist punched the beast in the face once more, causing it to fly back, he shoots a web at it and swings it around before throwing it at a wall, putting cracks in the wall. The Lizard falls to its knees in pain.

"How's that for weak? If you ask me, we don't have to all be gross lizard creatures to be powerful!" Spider-Man says.

The creature stands up once more and looks across at the costumed hero, "You lie. I smell it in you. You are no human!"

"You smell nothing." He states.

He leaps upward toward the green creature preparing to land on it with a landing kick, the creature grabs his ankle and swings him around, slamming him into the ground with enough force to cause cracks in the cement, he throws him once more, Spider-Man lands stopping him from sliding too far by using his reversed electron attraction. He looks up to see the creature leaping toward him, his lenses expanding mimicking his shocked expression underneath his mask. He compresses himself into the ground, narrowly avoiding the Lizards attack. He stands up and turns around in one swift motion. He runs toward the beast and just as it goes to swipe at him he slides between its legs and shoots a web from his right hand toward the wall, tripping the Lizard.

He quickly jumps on its back and punches away at the back of its skull, each punch pushing its head further and further into the ground before the beast grabs Spider-Man by the face and throws him to the ground, he stands up and stomps on the costumed hero, he lets out a small cry of pain as it happens.

"You can't hurt me! No matter what you do I will regenerate!" The beast shouts.

Just then a small tinge of pain shoots through the Lizards right shoulder. He looks back to find tons of SWAT people flooding through the hole in the ceiling using ropes to come down.

"Impossible!" The creature shouts.

Spider-Man kicks the beast's leg off of him and flips away from him. "Just in time." He says to himself.

The soldiers all line up with a kneel, one standing behind them, the captain.

The creature lets out a loud roar at the soldiers. Spider-Man takes this opportunity to dash toward the creature and leaps, sending a flying kick into its back. The creature falls forward, it stands up quickly and starts clawing at the hero. He does several handsprings to avoid the attacks. He stops in between and webs the creatures face. It takes blind swipes in front of it, one landing on the left cheekbone of the costumed vigilante. It stops for a second and rips off the webs.

"FIRE!" The captain shouts.

All of the soldiers started firing at the creature. It gets riddled with bullets, it takes a knee, he sees his opportunity and rushes toward the creature. He runs up the creature, placing a foot on its knee, then its stomach, then leaps up with his arm hooking around the creature's neck, before coming down hard, slamming the creature back into the concrete floor below.

The vigilante stands up and looks down at his unconscious foe, "Man, I guess all those fighting games I've been playing with Clyde actually paid off." He whispers to himself.

He turns around and faces the soldiers, "Hey guys, thanks for the assist. I couldn't have done it without you"

The captain nods at Spider-Man, who then returns the nod. The creature then springs back to life and spins around, Spider-Man jumps in the air to avoid the attack, the creature rushes away. Spider-Man dashes toward it and tackles it into a wall. It gets free and starts to crawl toward a vent in the ground. He grabs it by its tail and holds it back for a good few seconds before the tail detaches from the rest of its body, it then slithers beneath the vent and escapes.

"OH MY GOD THAT IS…SO GROSS!" Spider-Man says to himself, now holding the tail.

He shoves the tail aside and stands up, preparing to chase after the creature. The captain stopped him with a hand to the chest.

"No. We'll go after him." He says.

Spider-Man looks at him, "What? This is my fight too!"

"I know. But now that everyone's been found, we can fight him without fear of casualties."

The masked hero thought about this for a second, "You're right. Find it. And bring it back. Split up some men to bring back some people, so I'm not coming back and forth."

The captain simply nods, he uses some hand signals and the team splits up. Some go through the vent and others rush up a rope to grab some people. Spider-Man crawls up the wall and makes it there before anyone else. He walks past several unconscious children, and a few adults before making it to the one he came here for. He slowly picks up Lana, holding her in his arms.

"I'm gonna bring you home now sis." He whispers to his unconscious sister.

Children were being brought out from the sewer tunnel by SWAT members, families were being reunited with their loved ones. The sun was rising, a bluish tint spread across the scene.

Rita Loud held her hands together in a prayer gesture, all of the Loud family hoping to see their lost sibling and daughter again.

"Please…" The mother whispers in distress.

Suddenly the webbed hero swings out of the tunnel, the Loud girl in his arms. He lands a few feet away from the family and stands up looking around for his family only to see them running towards him. He walks toward them and hands the girl to her mother, "This one yours?" He asks,

"Yes! Oh my god yes!" The blonde woman exclaims.

He brushes the young girl's hair out of her eyes and puts her red cap on her chest. "Is she gonna be okay?" The father asked.

"She'll be just fine, I can smell her blood, I couldn't sense any ailments in it" The masked teen claims.

The woman holds her daughter close to her and closes her eyes, tears welling up in them, "Bless you Spider-Man, bless you."

"Just doing what I'm best at ma'am." He responds.

He then feels a tug on his leg, looking down he sees his pageant queen sister looking up at him. He kneels down to face her.

"Mr. Spider-Man? Thank you so much!" She quickly hugs him tight, not letting go.

He hugs her back, "Please, Mr. Spider-Man was my father, just Spider-Man is fine."

They let go of each other and he stands up, "Hey." He hears a feminine voice call to him. He looks to the right of him to find Stella Zhau giving a shy wave his way.

"I don't know if you remember me. But, I just wanted to tell you that I think it's really cool. What you do for people I mean." She says in a quiet and shy tone, rubbing one of her arms.

"How could I forget you? You're the lovely lady I saved at Gus's." He puts up his fist and gives her fist bump.

"Wow, I wasn't expecting you to be so cool." The girl says as she looks away abashedly.

He chuckles to himself as he starts to walk backward slightly. "I'll see you all around."

He leaps into the air and fires a web at a street lamp close by, pulling himself into the distance.

"You just talked to Spider-Man!" The McBride teen gave goo goo eyes to the teen girl.

Rita then got a vibration from her phone, pulling it out she saw a text message from Lori.

"Did everything turn out okay?" - Lori

"Yes, Spider-Man brought Lana back home." - Rita

"Good. You didn't let anything slip in a moment of panic did you?" - Lori

"I'm back! Is Lana safe?" Lincoln came running back to his family after his mysterious disappearance.

"Where were you?" His sporty older sister asked.

"Oh you know, I get stomach aches when I get nervous, had to go to the little boys room!" Lincoln quickly made up a lie on the spot.

"No, Lincoln still doesn't know, and I don't think he suspects anything either." - Rita

"Good, the last thing we need right now is him finding out." - Lori

"We're gonna have to tell him someday. The older he gets the harder it's gonna be to keep it from him." - Rita

"I know. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it." - Lori

"I love you. Stay safe." - Rita

"I will. Boo boo bear would never let anything happen to me." - Lori

She puts her phone away and looks to her son, who's being verbally scolded by his older sister. She takes a deep breath before giving off a small smile.

"Dig in Lana! You deserve it!" The young diva tells her twin as she pats her on the back.

Lana devours a large burger from the Burp n' Burger. "Thanks for the food guys, I couldn't have asked for a better welcome home!"

"Of course! You probably haven't eaten in a while. So eat as much as you can!" Lynn Sr. says.

"Heh, yeah…" The girl goes quiet for a moment. "To be honest…I don't remember a lot from when I was down there."

Everyone looked at her. She sat on the floor in front of the couch, as everyone sat around her. Lincoln sat to the right across from her. He listened carefully to her words.

"All I really remember was this old guy rambling to himself. Talking about bringing in a new race of people." The girl said, she looked down at the floor as she said this. Her eyes started to well up with tears, "And I could remember that all I wanted was to be back home…I just wanted to feel safe. I wanted to be warm, I wanted to see you guys again."

Lola immediately hugged her twin burying her head in her shoulder, "We all wanted you to be safe too. I don't know what I would've done if you hadn't come home safe!"

The twins embraced each other, Lana holding back her tears. "Hey Lincoln." The goth sibling addressed.

He looked at his sister, "What's up?"

"Where'd you get that cut on your face?" She asked.

He immediately put his hand to his face, feeling the cut on his cheekbone, "Oh that? I must've gotten it when coming back from the bathroom. I tripped and must've cut my face open."

Lucy looked at him, unspeaking for a few seconds, "If you say so." She finally says.

The boy looks away and takes a sip from his drink.

The girl keeps her gaze upon him, thinking about her brother.

"You know what gang? I've decided, We're gonna all have dinner at the restaurant tonight! Just a special way to celebrate our little girl being back home!" The father exclaimed, pointing a finger in the air.

"Thanks dad. I really appreciate it." The young tomboy said, wiping tears from her eyes.

The Loud family talked for a while, before eventually having to leave for dinner, the sun already starting to set.

"Spider-Man was seen at the scene of the crime rescuing some of the small children kidnapped by who we now know as Dr. Curt Conners. He was apprehended by a SWAT team deep in the sewers later in the day as he was unconscious on the ground. Some SWAT members reported that Spider-Man fought the man who had reportedly turned into a giant lizard beast, taking him down almost solo. Bringing us to even more questions we still have yet to answer. Who is Spider-Man? What is his end goal? Those are questions that may be answered another day. This is Katherine Mulligan, out."

The TV was shut off, Norman Osborn walked across his penthouse living room into his kitchen. He mixed himself a Green Screwdriver cocktail, "Seems our little spider friend has been busy."

He walked over to his counter and set his drink down, opening up a silver laptop with the Oscorp logo on the lid. He went to an email program and started to type. Telling his lead scientists to start human testing on the Globulin Green serum.

"Luckily for him I have some plans." He took a sip of his cocktail, "Some plans that may or may not involve some backstabbing." He looked at a picture of Otto Octavius, his head scientist and second in command, cracking a wicked smile.
