A/N: This chapter gives a glimpse into Harry's maternal grandparents and explained how they died. Part of the idea was to make it feel as muggle as possible.

A few minutes and a few nanoseconds later, Harry, Amy, Susan, Hannah, Sirius, Remus, Amelia, and Heather were seated inside the Eating and Meeting Hall, which still had its temporary Privacy Wards activated.

"So," said Harry proudly, "We've learned about my paternal grandparents and there's no question they were heroes. But, Sirius, Remus, Amelia, and Heather, do any of you know anything about my maternal grandparents? I know they were muggles and that's about it."

"Your maternal grandparents names were Daniel and Bonnie," explained Sirius, "Prior to Lily's acceptance to Hogwarts, Daniel, Bonnie, Petunia. and Lily led a pretty typical muggle life for a family of four. "

"Lily's and Petunia's relationship deteriorated after Lily's admission to Hogwarts, " acknowledged Remus, "But that's another conversation for another day. Tonight, we are here to discuss your grandparents. "

"Daniel was an eye doctor and Bonnie was a cashier," revealed Amelia.

"Bonnie quit her job as cashier after she became a mother to become a stay at home mom." added Heather.

"So, " interjected Sirius, "We're going to skip ahead a little here. I don't think Daniel and Bonnie were the greatest parents, but I don't want to get into that right now because it ties into the story of Lily's and Petunia's falling out, which is a topic for another time. After Lily had graduated from Hogwarts and joined the Order of the Phoenix with James and Petunia had also now moved out their home and gotten a place of her own, Daniel and Bonnie were left as empty nesters."

"Your maternal grandparents were extremely tragic cases," said Heather honestly.

"Daniel had cut back to working part time and had trained his replacements, " said Amelia in a businesslike voice, "He was planning to retire entirely a year later. This was around the time when Voldemort was getting really powerful mind you. Well, on his way home from work one evening, Daniel was involved in an auto accident that was caused by a wrong way driver. The impact of the crash killed Daniel instantly and he was pronounced dead at the scene. "

"FUCK WRONG WAY DRIVERS!" yelled Amy angrily, "They are a major problem in Arizona!"

"Auto accidents are one of the most preventable causes of death," said Harry sadly, "Speeding, red light running, distracted driving, wrong way driving, etc., are all easily avoided."

"That left poor Bonnie alone in her house," said Amelia ruefully, "She was lonely, but she apparently held up reasonably well for a woman who had lost a long time husband."

"A couple of weeks after Daniel died, Bonnie died in a way just as tragic, " said Remus sadly.

"Bonnie was relaxing by candlelight before bed, " set up Sirius, "But she forgot to put the candle out before going to bed. The candle tipped over while she was asleep and the fire from the candle spread to whole room. Bonnie Evans literally burned to death."

Harry, Amy, Susan, and Hannah all put their hands to their faces with rather horrified expressions came upon them.

"Um' shuddered Susan, her voice shaking, "I can't imagine a more horrific way to die."

"And after spending the last few weeks of her life grieving a similarly horrific death, " added Hannah in a voice of distinct discomfort, "This story is awful."

"I don't think I can take any more tonight," said Harry clearly, his voice stuck in his throat.

Amy, Susan, Hannah, Sirius, Remus, Amelia, and Heather all nodded in understanding.

"I feel terrible for Daniel and Bonnie," said Harry, a few tears now sliding down his cheeks, "But I feel even worse for Petunia and Lily. There is no worse tragedy than a child losing a parent. And to lose both in a matter of weeks and in such horrific circumstances both times? I can't fathom how Petunia and Lily must have felt when they learned of Daniel's and Bonnie's deaths, especially given the very tragic circumstances involved. We should learn and know as much as possible, But I can't handle anymore tonight."

Amy, Susan, Hannah, Sirius, Remus, Amelia, and Heather all nodded in understanding a second time and that was that.

Harry, Amy, Susan, Hannah, Sirius, Remus, Amelia, and Heather all rose and headed off for the night as Heather removed the Privacy wards from the Eating and Meeting Hall."
