DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN HARRY POTTER

It was a lovely morning and Harry was fast asleep in Amelia's bedroom. It was 8 o'clock and Amelia was in the bathroom taking a shower.

Meanwhile, in another bedroom, a small girl stirred and woke up slowly. After staring into space for a minute, she proceeded to get out of bed and slowly make her way out of her room and to her aunt's bedroom for a hug.

She entered the bedroom and saw someone sleeping, but upon moving closer, she noticed that it was too small to be her aunt. She walked outside into the corridor and started moving towards the bathroom, stopping in front of it upon hearing the sound of running water which meant that her aunt was taking a shower.

A few minutes later, Amelia stepped outside the bathroom, clad in a maroon bathrobe and smiled when she saw her niece Susan and heard her say, "Good Morning Aunty."

Amelia hugged Susan and replied, "Good Morning my love. Did you sleep well?"

Susan replied, "Yes."

Amelia smiled at her and kissed her before moving towards her bedroom to change into something more suitable, with Susan following her, of course.

She was only four years old and would follow her aunt everywhere.

A few minutes later, Amelia, now properly dressed stood by the bed as she watched Harry sleeping. Just then, Susan tugged her sleeve and asked, "Aunty, who's that?"

Amelia knelt down to her level and holding her shoulder, answered, "This is Harry Potter. He is going to be staying with us."

She paused for a moment before continuing, "This is something important that you need to know about. Do you remember what I told you about Mummy and Daddy?"

Susan nodded and replied, "Yeah, a big bad man and his friends killed them and made them go away."

She looked at Harry for a moment and suddenly, her eyes widened as she asked, "Did the bad man make Harry's Mummy and Daddy go away?"

Amelia replied, "Correct my little one. He made them go away, and his aunt and uncle were not nice to him."

Susan exclaimed, "But you're nice to me! And they weren't nice to him! That's mean!"

Amelia smiled before saying, "He's going to be living with us from now on. It'll be like having a brother. Of course, you'll have to share me, but you'll have Harry to play with."

Susan's eyes widened and she exclaimed, "I want to play with him! Can he wake up now?! I'll share my toys and books with him!"

Amelia smiled and kissed her niece before standing up and looking at Harry who was beginning to stir.

Harry stirred as he lay awake in bed. He thought that it had all been a dream, being rescued from the Dursleys and hugged and kissed, and that he would wake up in his cupboard and be forced to make breakfast as usual. He slowly opened his eyes, expecting to find himself in his cupboard, but instead found himself under a blanket, on a nice comfy bed in a cozy looking bedroom, with the lady that had saved him and a small girl by the bedside, looking at him and smiling.

Amelia placed a hand on Harry's chest and smiled as his eyes opened and said, "Good morning my child."

Harry slowly sat up and looked at her with wide eyes. As far as he could remember, nobody in the Dursley household had ever called him 'child' like that.

He opened his mouth and slowly said, "Good morning. Who are you?"

He winced suddenly, remembering that his aunt Petunia had told him not to ask questions, but he had been so curious to know that he had forgotten not to ask. He trembled slightly, expecting to be yelled at.

But that did not happen. Instead, a sweet reply came, "My name is Amelia Bones, and this is my niece Susan. I was a good friend of your Mummy and Daddy. You may not remember, but I used to hold you when you were a small baby."

"You knew me when I was a baby?" Harry asked, curiosity overcoming him.

"I did," Amelia replied, "You were so cute, and you still are. And now that you are going to be living here with us, I would love for you to call me Aunty."

Harry looked at her in amazement and said, "Live with you? I won't go back?"

Amelia replied, "You are never going back there sweetheart. I won't send you away from me. I love you and you will stay here with us."

Harry slowly exclaimed, "You love me?!"

The next moment, he burst out crying. Amelia sat on the bed and hugged him tightly, rubbing his back and wiping away his tears with her own hands. Susan climbed on to the bed, sat next to her aunt and started rubbing Harry's back.

Amelia let go after a minute and held Harry's hands in hers as he said, "Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia said that I'm a freak and that my Mummy and Daddy hated me and they didn't want me. They said that nobody wants me and nobody will ever love me."

Amelia felt her heart break when she heard that. Honestly, what kind of guardians were Harry's aunt and uncle?! Why had Dumbledore not checked up on Harry? What kind of decent guardian told their ward that they were hated and unwanted like that?!

She kissed Harry on his nose and softly said, "They lied to you Harry. You are not a freak. Your Mummy and Daddy loved you very much. I love you very much and I want you."

"You want me?" Harry asked slowly in amazement, unable to believe that someone actually wanted him.

"Yes," Amelia replied, "I want you. I love you and I will always love you. I will never ever treat you the way those Dursleys did. I'll take care of you, just like your Mummy and Daddy would have wanted."

Harry buried his face in Amelia's bosom and cried, having been hated for more than two years and now being saved by someone who loved him. Amelia wiped his tears and kissed him tenderly.

A minute later, Harry calmed down and turned his head to look up. Amelia looked at his face and sniffed his cheek lovingly before kissing it. He still had that baby smell, and as Amelia comforted Harry, she couldn't help wanting to place him lying down in her lap and 'gobble' him up.

Harry kissed her on her cheek, causing her to smile widely. He then turned to the small girl, Susan who was still rubbing his back.

Susan hugged Harry and said, "Good Morning Harry. Will you play with me?"

Harry looked at Susan in amazement. He had never been allowed to play with any of Dudley's toys, forget even playing happily with him. The only thing Dudley had done in that regard was to snatch anything Harry was playing with and to beat him up without being getting scolded. But Susan didn't seem to be like his fat cousin.

He slowly asked, "You want to play with me?"

Amelia said, "Of course Susan wants to play with you. In fact, she wanted you to wake up so that the two of you can play. She's not like your cousin Dudley. She'll share, and she won't beat you like he did."

Susan beamed and said loudly, "I won't beat you, and I'll share my toys with you! Play with me please!"

Harry hugged her, feeling delighted that someone wanted to share with him and play with him. He said, "I love my new friend."

As Susan hugged him back in delight, Amelia wrapped her arms around them and said, "First, it's time to get you cleaned up. Time to have your teeth brushed."

Harry suddenly spoke, "Aunt Petunia says no asking questions. But I asked questions."

Amelia replied, "You can always ask questions if you have any. I won't scold you simply for being curious." Harry smiled in response.

Amelia picked them up and setting them down on the floor, proceeded to pull them into the bathroom. Luckily, Amelia just happened to have a new toothbrush ready, and although it looked rather girly, Harry didn't seem to mind. He was quite excited to use his new toothbrush that had violet and pink butterflies on it.

Afterwards, she proceeded to fill up a tub that was there in bathroom, and soon a bubble bath was ready for the kids. Harry's eyes widened with amazement. Vernon and Petunia had always given Dudley nice warm baths, but had used either cold or simply lukewarm water for him most of the time, scolding him if he had dared to ask for the water to be a little warmer or to have bubbles and toys in the tub like Dudley got. In fact, Uncle Vernon particularly had been quite rough while bathing him, and Aunt Petunia had only been a little less rough, bathing him with utter disdain. But Aunt Amelia didn't look like she was going to do that to him.

Smilingly, she undressed Harry and Susan and plopped them into the bathtub. She frowned slightly upon seeing bruises on Harry's back and legs. She decided that she would take Harry to St. Mungo's later on.

Harry beamed upon feeling the water which was warm plus all those bubbles.

Amelia smiled as she bathed the children, making sure to shampoo Harry's hair especially for good measure. After she had finished, she allowed them to play with a few rubber ducks for a few minutes before proceeding to lift them from the tub and dry them.

A minute later, Harry was sitting in Amelia's bedroom wrapped in a large towel while Amelia searched Susan's wardrobe for something suitable to wear. She found a pair of navy blue leggings and a nice blue and white long sleeved shirt which she thought would do for the day. She had not brought any of Harry's clothes, not that it mattered as all that Harry had been given to wear were hand me downs. Some shopping was in order for the day. She decided that she would take Harry and Susan to Muggle London to do some shopping. It was certainly lucky that she had a car.

After dressing Harry, Amelia took both Harry and Susan downstairs and asked, "So my little ones, what would you like for breakfast?"

Noticing Harry looking downcast, she turned to him and asked, "Harry is something wrong?"

Harry looked up and said, "I had to make breakfast at the Dursleys but I only know how to make eggs."

Amelia held Harry's shoulders and said, "Harry, you are too young to be doing that sort of cooking. Your aunt should not have done that to you. Since when did you have to start cooking for your relatives?"

Harry replied, "Aunt Petunia told me that I will be turning four and so I have to clean and cook. After Christmas, she said I had to clean, and later on, she said I had to cook but I can only make eggs."

Amelia said, "Well, since you only know how to make eggs, I guess this cooking business can't have started until recently. But anyway, that is not your job. You are not even four and it is dangerous to be near the stove. Honestly, she should have had more sense than to put a child at risk."

She breathed before continuing, "You will not come near the stove and try to make breakfast or lunch or dinner. That is for me to do. Now, how about some chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast?"

"Pancakes, pancakes," Susan started chanting excitedly. Amelia smiled at Susan and asked Harry, "How's that? Okay?"

Harry smiled at her, feeling better and said, "Okay."

Amelia ruffled Harry's and Susan's hair and hugged them before picking them up and placing them on stools by the dining table. She then went to the kitchen and emerged a few minutes later carrying two bowls of fruit. Harry's eyes widened as he looked at his bowl of fruit. It had pineapple, melon, grapes and grapefruit slices. Harry had been allowed to eat fruits at the Dursleys' house only because Dudley didn't always finish his. And while Dudley didn't like grapefruit and made a fuss if Aunt Petunia tried to give him any, Harry certainly didn't mind it.

He and Susan beamed in joy as they ate their fruit and drank pumpkin juice from two sippy cups while Amelia set about making pancakes. A few minutes later, she came over to the table and set two plates of chocolate chip pancakes with some whipped butter and maple syrup on them. Harry beamed at the sight of his pancake while Amelia cut it into small pieces for him before doing the same for Susan.

Harry took his fork and put a piece into his mouth. He beamed as he enjoyed the taste. It was so delicious.

Amelia looked at him and asked, "Enjoying your pancakes love?"

Harry simply beamed at her in response and said after swallowing his piece, "Mmmm."

A few minutes later, Amelia came out of the kitchen with a plate of her own pancakes for herself and put it on the table. She then went up to Harry, took his fork and fed him a bite herself. Of course, she did the same for Susan before sitting at the table to eat herself.

As the three sat at the table, Amelia turned to Harry and said, "After breakfast, I'm going to take you to London. You'll need some clothes, plus some nice toys and books."

Harry turned to Amelia and said, "Only Dudley gets everything, and Uncle Vernon said that I won't get what he gets because I'm a bad boy and a freak."

Amelia looked at Harry and said, "You are not a bad child, and you are not a freak. You're a lovely child, and every child deserves nice things."

Harry asked, "Really?"

Amelia replied, "Really."

Sometime later, Amelia was holding Harry's and Susan's hands as she walked to the driveway of the house where a blue car belonging to her was parked. She opened the back door and placed a pink booster seat belonging to Susan on the right side. Harry then noticed her pulling out some kind of a stick and saying something, and then suddenly, there were two pink booster seats, one on each side of the back seat. He saw her pointing the stick at the seat on the left side and suddenly, it was red.

"Aunty," Harry slowly asked, "How did that happen?"

Amelia answered, "It's something called magic."

Harry's eyes widened with amazement. He said, "But Uncle Vernon said magic is not real."

Amelia smiled at Harry and replied, "Well, your uncle Vernon is wrong. Magic is indeed real. In fact, you my dear are magical too."

Harry asked, "Really?"

Amelia said, "Of course. I'm sure something must have happened that you didn't do but couldn't say what exactly happened."

Harry remembered a time when Dudley had come and tried to hit Harry while he was cleaning the kitchen. Harry had screamed upon seeing Dudley's cruel expression and all of a sudden, Dudley had flown back out of the kitchen. Aunt Petunia had yelled at him for 'hurting Dudley'. Harry had tried to say that he didn't know what had happened but Uncle Vernon had rudely locked him into his cupboard saying that magic wasn't real. Harry had gotten nothing to eat that day save for a piece of bread.

He said, "Yeah."

Amelia smiled and buckled both Harry and Susan into their booster seats and kissed both of them before getting into the driver's seat.

Harry smiled. This was going to be a happy day.
