Three
The day following the bite, Stiles and Scott went to where they found the body in the woods. Only there wasn't a body. "I don't get it. The body was right here," Scott circled the area. Stiles rolled his eyes, "I know dude, I was there." Their search was disrupted by a gruff voice, "This is private property." Both teens turn to the source of the voice. Scott gives a lame excuse, "Sorry, man. We were just exploring." Stiles internally cringed. The guy glared harder, "Well, you're trespassing. Leave!" The guy turned and walked away but kept listening to them.
"Dude, do you know who that is?" Stiles asked Scott. "No, who is he?" Scott asks. "That was Derek Hale. His family burned to death when we were like 10," Stiles says. Scott shrugs. Stiles shook his head as they started walking back to Roscoe, "Look, how do you feel after being bit? Any strange feelings or whatever?" Scott stopped walking for a moment, "Like what?"
"Like your senses being overloaded. Or the fact that your reflexes have heightened?" Stiles questioned. "I noticed that. What about you?" Scott tilted his head like a puppy. "Same. Tryouts were a breeze. Though the headache from all the noise I could've done without," Stiles rubs his temples. They made it back to Roscoe and Stiles drove Scott home so he could get his bike. Scott had a shift at the Vet Clinic with Alan Deaton. Stiles threw himself into research again to narrow down what was happening to him and Scott.
The next morning Stiles and Scott woke up on the cold ground of the woods. They looked each other over for any injuries and saw none. Neither remembered leaving their homes. They ran at an incredibly fast pace back to their homes and got ready for the day. Both of them feeling out of it from waking up in the middle of the woods. Stiles stuffed the printed pages from his research into his backpack to show Scott. When Stiles got to school, he saw Noah and a few deputies interviewing staff and teachers.
Scott had met up with Stiles, "Do you remember anything from last night?" Stiles shook his head, "It's a blur. Why do you?" "A really strange dream that turned into a nightmare where I attacked Allison," Scott seemed worried. He had his phone in his hand, texting Allison, "I can't get a hold of her." Stiles watched Scott getting frantic, "It's probably just a messed up dream." The both of them enter the bus parking lot on the way to their next class and see one of the buses surrounded by caution tape and the backdoor torn off its hinges covered in blood. Scott paled, "I don't think it was a dream."
Scott continued to text and call Allison, hoping she'll answer so he knows she's okay. Stiles followed behind him as they ran through the school. When rounding a corner Scott bumped into somebody and they both tumbled to the ground. Scott sat on his knees and saw he ran into Allison. Stiles didn't want to intrude so he headed to class. He never got to show Scott the research on werewolves.
The upcoming Friday was a party at Lydia's place. Friday was also the full moon. Scott had invited Allison to the party not knowing the danger he could bring to her and everyone else. Stiles had called Scott over to his house to talk about what was happening to them. Scott came into Stiles' bedroom and surveyed the mess, papers, books, older tomes were scattered all around the room, on the floor, Stiles' bed and desk. "So, what did you find?" Scott pushed some papers over so he could sit on the bed.
Stiles turned in his desk chair to face Scott, "How are you feeling right now? Can't sit still, anxious, irritable, and maybe feel like you're coming out of your skin?" Scott does feel like that but doesn't want to admit it. His mind is on Allison and their date in about an hour, "Anxious maybe. How much Adderall have you had?" Stiles shook his head, "None but that's besides the point. I have been researching everything I can get my hands on."
Stiles picks up one of the older tomes, "Listen to this… Because a Werewolf gains their power from the moon, full moons (especially on supermoons) are when they're at their strongest. However, this also means that their animal instincts and heightened aggression are at their peak as well, which makes them much more likely to lose control and harm or kill someone by accident." Stiles slams the tome shut and looks at Scott, "I mean, don't you feel it? The anger?"
Scott huffs, "I'm feeling it. Werewolves?! Seriously?! I have a date with Allison in less than an hour and you called to tell me about some bull shit myth!" Stiles shakes his head, "It's not a myth. Okay! Our heightened senses, reflexes. Losing our temper easily." Stiles points to Scott's hands, "Claws." Scott wasn't paying attention to anything Stiles was saying, he was too angry at being kept from Allison. Stiles stopped talking for a moment and started searching Scott for his phone. Scott pushed him away, "What are you doing?!" Stiles dug in Scott's pocket and pulled out his phone, "I'm canceling your date. It's a full moon tonight. Too dangerous to be around anyone."
Scott snatches his phone from Stiles, almost crushing it in his anger, "No way! I'm not canceling my date with Allison. Why are you trying to ruin this?!" Stiles felt hurt that his best friend is not listening and getting angry with him, "Scott. You can't be around anyone tonight. You could hurt Allison." Scott runs a hand through his hair and huffs, "I don't need this. I have to go pick up Allison." Stiles grabs Scott to try and get his point through, but he wasn't going to listen. Scott shoves Stiles away from him and rushes out of the house. Stiles sits on the end of his bed and takes a deep breath before deciding he better follow Scott even though he feels the pull of the full moon.
The party was in full swing when Scott arrived with Allison. He had started to feel very uncomfortable in his own skin before he even left Stiles' house. But, he will not let him stop from having a good time with Allison. Scott really liked the girl. She was smart, pretty, and he fell head-over-heels at first sight. Allison dragged Scott to the backyard next to the pool so they could dance without bumping into too many people. Scott was starting to feel worse but hid it. He looks around and sees Derek staring at him like a creep. Scott shakes his head and looks to where Derek was standing but he is gone.
Stiles' senses were overwhelmed the moment he entered Lydia's house. The music was louder, the smell of sweaty teens and cheap alcohol fermented in his nostrils, and his skin felt like it was on fire. He was thinking he shouldn't have worn the jacket. He shouldn't have come. Stiles pushes his way through the crowd looking for Scott. He finds Derek first. The guy was watching Stiles like he was going to attack him. Stiles was going to talk to Derek but was shoulder-checked by a frantic Scott trying to escape the party. "Hey, Scott? You good, bro?" Stiles rolls his eyes at the stupid question he sprouted. He follows behind Allison, who had just ran past trying to catch up to Scott.
The both reached the driveway at the same time Scott drove off. Stiles stands next to Allison, "I tried to get him to cancel. He wasn't feeling too good earlier but felt bad if he canceled." Allison was going to give Stiles a snarky remark when Derek cut her off, "Allison? I'm a friend of Scott's. He asked me to give you a ride home." Allison realized she was stuck since Scott was her ride, "Sure, thank you." She climbed into the passenger seat of Derek's car.
Derek kept his eyes on Stiles and said knowing he'd be heard, "Get home and lock yourself in. We'll talk about this after I get Scott." Stiles wanted to argue but Derek already took off. He looked to the sky and saw the full moon was almost at its peak. He climbed in his jeep, Roscoe, and drove home. Stiles never noticed a certain strawberry-blonde watching him from the doorway. She had noticed something off about that boy. He'd usually said hi to her every morning but the last two days, nothing. Lydia turned to her boyfriend Jackson, "Did you notice something different about that guy?" Jackson watched the jeep's tail lights fade into the night, "Both McCall and Stillinski seemed to get good at Lacrosse overnight. That's not possible, so they must be juicing. And I'm going to find out." Even though that's not what Lydia meant, she just rolls her eyes and then rejoins the party. Jackson stares out the doorway for a moment before following his girlfriend.
Stiles parked Roscoe but didn't go inside. The pull of the moon was too strong. His eyes glowed a brilliant gold, his nails sharpened into claws, teeth elongating into fangs, and facial hair that could be mistaken as fur grew onto his face. Stiles' senses heightened even more. He could hear the smallest critter scurrying away. His sight was always great, but it was excellent now with night vision. His sense of smell caught Scott's scent running towards the reserve. Stiles' human mind took a backseat as his wolf took over. He shot off into a sprint in Scott's direction.
Derek had taken Allison's jacket for her scent so Scott would follow it. He knew the newly bitten pup would follow the scent. Scott skidded to a stop and scented the area. He found the jacket hanging from a tree. Derek stepped out from where he was hiding and flashed his eyes blue. "Where is she?!" Scott growls. Derek says, "She's safe…from you." Scott snarled at Derek, "You! You did this to me!" Derek shakes his head, then rushes Scott and pins him to a tree. He doesn't even turn his head to face the other approaching werewolf, "You should've stayed home."
Stiles stands a bit back, and waits. He was going to reply but Derek shushed them. Derek picked up something with his hearing, "Run!" Stiles runs up to a startled Scott and forces him to run. Scott, who still knows nothing about being a Werewolf, doesn't move quickly enough due to his confusion and lags behind Derek and Stiles. Before he could pick up speed, an arrow flies through the air and hits the tree next to him, causing a flash-bang that temporarily blinds him and leaves Scott unable to react. A second arrow, a steel-tipped one this time, flies through the air and pins Scott to the tree behind him through his right forearm.
Stiles looks back to see Scott pinned to a tree. Scott tries to use his Werewolf vision to see through the darkness and the glare from the flash-bang arrow just in time to see three shadowy figures approaching him. One of the men steps out into the light of the full moon, revealing Allison's father, Chris Argent, who shot Scott.
Fortunately for Scott, Derek chooses this moment to attack while Stiles yanks the arrow out of Scott's forearm. Derek threw the hunters accompanying Chris through the air, distracting Chris so Stiles and Scott could run. Derek follows not even a moment later. Once they are far enough away, they stop so Scott can recover from his injury. Scott and Stiles revert back to their human form as they catch their breath. Scott demands, "Who were those guys?" Derek is casually leaning against a tree, "Hunters. They have been hunting our kind for centuries."
This statement does nothing but aggravate Scott, "You mean hunting YOU! You did this to me!" Derek doesn't confirm nor deny that he was the one that bit the teens. Stiles stood back and watched his best friend confront Derek Hale. "Is it so bad? You smell better, see better, reflexes off the chart." Derek looks back and forth between both Scott and Stiles, "Don't think I didn't see you guys on that field?" Scott shakes his head, "I don't want this." Derek sighs, "You will. The bite is a gift, and you both will need my help to learn control over your powers. Scott more than Stiles. Whether you deny it or not, you two are now my pack brothers." Derek leaves the teens alone.
Stiles and Scott walk out of the reserve. Scott is pouting about being a werewolf. Stiles is deep in thought about all the things he realized he could do now. Scott harshly kicks a rock, sending it soaring. Stiles sighs, "Maybe being a wolf won't be so bad. I physically feel great." Scott scoffs, "Well, good for you. Allison probably hates me because I ditched her at the party." Stiles rolled his eyes, "Before I left the party, I told her I tried to get you to cancel cause you weren't feeling good but you'd feel bad if you didn't show up." Scott stops walking and grabs his best friend, "You did?" Stiles nods. "Thanks, man," Scott smiles before it drops, "Sorry for yelling at you earlier." Stiles waves him off, "It's alright. Full moon makes you moody." They continue to walk home.
All throughout the day on Monday, Allison ignores Scott. At the end of the day, Scott stops Allison before she gets to her dad's SUV, "I'm sorry about the party. I thought I felt okay enough to go. With the way I left, I probably would've been better off not going. Forgive me?" Allison smiles at Scott. She was still mad but his explanation helped ease the anger. "Make it up to me Friday night?" Scott gave her a bright smile, "Absolutely." She starts walking backwards toward a burgundy SUV that just pulled up and honked, "My dad's here to pick me up." Scott watches the man get out of the SUV and Scott's eyes widen. Allison's father is the same man who shot him, Chris Argent.
AN: I have decided Noah will become a villain later on. I've seen fics where Noah's a bad dad but never really a villain. I think the two series will alternate chapters until they meet up. Some chapters may be longer than others.
