DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN HARRY POTTER.

It had now been a week since the day Amelia had gone to spy on the Dursleys.

Harry's life had changed significantly, thanks to his Aunt Amelia turned Mummy. He had gotten Susan as a sister who was far better than his whale of a cousin Dudley who had always been mean and violent towards him. And he had gained a few friends.

Currently, Amelia was back at home at 4 pm, having managed to come home early. Luckily, there had not been much that day. Just a few meetings and then some paperwork; of course, Crouch's rants were the unpleasant part of it all, but luckily, she had not run into Lucius. That day, she had also had to go to the Dursleys to get them to sign a few forms for them to officially acknowledge the change in guardians. Vernon had only been too happy to sign it. Unfortunately for him, his comment "Good riddance" had not gone unheard by Amelia who had proceeded to slap him before leaving.

Remus was just giving a hug to the children when Amelia suddenly spoke, "Remus, why don't you stay over for dinner today? I'm sure the kids would love to have you around."

Harry and Susan cried out, "Please, don't go Uncle Moony!"

Uncle Remus, a.k.a, Uncle Moony, laughingly replied, "Don't worry cubs, I'm staying for dinner."

Harry and Susan screamed in delight.

Meanwhile at the Ministry, Crouch was in a foul mood as he walked up and down the atrium. Walking with him was Dumbledore, who was currently trying to convince Crouch to advance the date of Sirius' trial.

"I will not," Crouch thundered, "advance it! Giving him a trial is one thing, then giving Amelia Bones custody of Harry Potter is another thing, alright, fine, no qualms about that, but advancing Sirius Black's trial?! Absolutely not!"

"Bartemius," Dumbledore pleaded, "I'm not saying that Sirius is absolutely innocent, but if it turns out that he really is…"

Crouch cut him off yelling, "HE IS NOT INNOCENT! THE BLACKS ARE ALL DARK! I KNOW HE'S NOT INNOCENT!"

Dumbledore now lowered his voice and spoke, "Barty, I implore you, just schedule the trial to as early as possible. Don't you want to know why he betrayed the Potters? What exactly happened?"

Crouch spoke condescendingly, "We know enough. He himself confessed. And he is from the Black family. It makes sense."

Dumbledore now decided to go for a different approach.

"But what if he is really innocent? Then there will surely be a lot of backlash against you. At least if the trial is held as early as possible, then it may not be as much as if you go on delaying it. Have you not suffered enough backlash from society? Especially after what happened last year when…"

Crouch yelled, "THAT BOY WAS NO SON OF MINE!"

Dumbledore could only look upon the other man sadly. It was not uncommon that Crouch had publicly declared that Barty Crouch Junior was not his son, loudly in court. And Crouch Senior had always been ruthless, dedicated to eventually becoming the Minister of Magic. What was there to say that Crouch had not neglected his son, unknowingly pushing him to join Voldemort?

Just then, Crouch yelled, "Alright, alright, ALRIGHT! FINE, BUT NO EARLIER THAN JUNE 15!"

Dumbledore was just about to say something but Crouch suddenly added, "But if any genuine evidence pointing to Sirius Black's innocence is found, I will try him immediately, not that there should be any, with Peter Pettigrew having been blasted apart to bits!"

"Very well," Dumbledore replied.

Around 6 pm, Harry and Susan were playing in the living room with Uncle Remus watching them and their Mummy in the kitchen planning on what to make for dinner.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Amelia went to open the door and was surprised to find not just Dumbledore, but Minerva as well.

Amelia exclaimed, "Oh, it's you! Good evening Dumbledore and Minerva!"

Dumbledore replied, "Good evening to you too Amelia."

At that moment, Harry and Susan came rushing towards them calling out, "Grampa, Aunt Minnie!"

Minerva laughed at the sound of that. Harry and Susan had taken to calling her 'Aunt Minnie' during her previous visit. She was sure James would have been amused at that.

She and Dumbledore hugged the children and proceeded towards the living room.

Dumbledore sat in the armchair and noticed Remus, who was standing up in front of the adjacent sofa.

"Ah Remus," Dumbledore said, "Such a pleasure to see you here."

Remus replied, "Dumbledore, it's really good to see you. Good to see you too Minerva."

Minerva smiled and replied, "It's a pleasure to see you too Remus."

Dumbledore then turned to Amelia who had sat on the opposite sofa and said, "Amelia, I have some news regarding Sirius."

Suddenly, Harry's eyes widened with excitement and he cried out, "Uncle Sirius!"

Susan asked, "Is he coming?"

Dumbledore replied, "Soon little ones, soon."

Amelia then called them over and said, "Darlings, you're just going to have to go up to the playroom for a few minutes. We're going to be a little busy. Okay?"

Harry and Susan pouted. Minerva chuckled upon seeing their expressions and said, "Harry, Susan, how about I come with you, and then I'll become a cat for a while, and then we'll play a game, okay?"

Harry and Susan smiled excitedly at that and hugged her.

Amelia smiled at her in gratitude and the kids proceeded to pull her by her hands upstairs.

Once they were out of the living room, Dumbledore turned to Remus and said, "I suppose Amelia told you about Sirius' upcoming trial."

Remus replied, "She did. She said that you were going to see if the date could be advanced."

"Yes," Dumbledore replied, "I spoke to the head of the DMLE this afternoon, and he agreed, although rather begrudgingly to advance it to the 15th of June, but no earlier."

Amelia said, mixed feelings evident in her voice, "Almost a whole month! At least it's better than the end of July."

Dumbledore added, "However, he has also agreed to try Sirius immediately should any genuine evidence be found. If you are right and Sirius is really innocent, then it means that Peter Pettigrew is the culprit and is in hiding. The trouble then will be his capture. Just how are we going to find him is the question."

Just then, Remus, who had a slightly uncomfortable expression on his face, held his hands together tightly on his knees, and said slowly, "Uh, Dumbledore, Amelia, there's something I really need to tell you. I hope you won't be upset about this."

A few minutes later…

Amelia and Dumbledore were looking at Remus after hearing his story, surprise and shock in their minds.

For, Remus had just told them about James, Sirius and Peter being animagi and helping him out during his werewolf transformations.

On one hand, they were shocked. Amelia couldn't believe Sirius had never told her about this. She was feeling a bit angry with him. But on the other hand, she couldn't blame him. In fact, she couldn't help feeling amazed, impressed indeed.

Dumbledore had an amazed look across his face.

Slowly, he spoke, "If the Ministry had caught wind of this, your friends would have been convicted. At the very least, they would have been fined; at the worst, Azkaban. But I cannot deny that I am amazed that they would take such risks to help a friend and stand by your side. I wish there were more such people."

Amelia said, "I can't believe Sirius never told me. Of course, I'm not going to kill him for that! But if he had just told me, I would have helped him. I would have made him register himself. Alastor would have gladly done it for him. James and Sirius were his students."

Dumbledore smiled and said, "Remus, you have just made things easier. Now at least, we have a clue on Pettigrew."

Amelia said, "But how are we going to find him? If he is a large rat, then he would have probably tried to find himself a family to stay with, or perhaps turned himself into some pet store, or worse still, run into the sewers or left the country."

Remus said, "Well, we should definitely keep our eyes open for large rats."

Dumbledore said, "Yes. Tomorrow, I shall ask members of the order to find Peter Pettigrew. Hopefully, we shall catch him and it will turn out that Sirius is innocent."

Amelia said, "And then he will come home. He and I will raise our children together like James and Lily would have wanted."

Dumbledore smiled at that.

Some time later, Dumbledore, Minerva and Remus bade goodbye to Amelia and the children after having eaten dinner together and left.

A few minutes after they had left, Amelia heard a knock on the front door. She opened it to find Mrs. Abbott standing outside.

Amelia spoke, "Emily, it's you. What's going on?"

Mrs. Abbott spoke, "There's a fair being held in London tomorrow onwards for a few days. It's going to be really exciting. There'll be plenty of fun stuff to do. We really should get our kids together."

Amelia replied, "That sounds wonderful. Shall we go tomorrow?"

Emily replied, "Oh yes. Tomorrow will be great. And by the way, the Weasleys will be joining us."

Amelia smilingly replied, "The more the merrier."

Later on, Amelia was putting Harry to bed when Harry said, "Mummy, no sleepy."

Amelia smilingly replied, "Well, it's bedtime, and do you know what I will do to you if you don't sleep?"

Harry said, "No, what?"

Amelia pointed her fingers towards him and whispered, "Then I'll turn off the lights, and I'll come up to you, and then I'll put you in my lap and gobble you up!"

"No!" Harry cried out.

Amelia laughed and said, "How about I wrap you up?"

With that, she moved towards Harry and proceeded to lie down and hug him tightly before wrapping him up in his blanket and pulling the comforter over him.

She kissed him and said, "Now my baby, go to sleep. Sleep baby sleep."
