DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN HARRY POTTER.

Amelia, Sirius, Remus and Dumbledore stepped through a pair of apparation gates in the Ministry and apparated to the parking lot near the fairground where Pettigrew had been exposed. She then found her car and unlocked the doors after which, everyone got in, Amelia in the driver's seat, Sirius next to her, and Dumbledore and Remus in the back.

They drove out of the area and set out for Park Lane. On the way, Amelia stopped by a Muggle clothes store which just happened to be open but was closing in a few minutes. Remus scrambled out of the car and managed to get a few clothes for Sirius; some underwear, a few shirts, pants, jeans, socks, and a jacket. It wasn't much, but it was all that Remus managed to get as he had to hurry up before the clock struck closing time.

Afterwards, Amelia asked, "Sirius, are you hungry? Shall we stop somewhere on the way to eat, or should we just go straight home?'

Sirius replied, "Straight home. I badly need a shower before I eat. I need to get all those grime layers of Azkaban off me."

So they proceeded towards Amelia's house.

Sirius followed Amelia as she knocked on the door and called out to say she was home. The door was opened by none other than Emily.

Emily beamed and cried out, "Amelia, you're back. Sirius Black, congratulations on your release."

Sirius smiled and replied, "Thank you uh…"

Emily said, "I'm Emily Abbott. Just call me Emily."

Sirius said, "You must be Dennis' wife. I'm pleased to meet you."

Emily returned the compliment and stepped aside to let everyone inside.

Amelia asked, "Emily, where is everyone? Are the children alright?"

Emily replied, "The Weasleys have flooed back to the Burrow. Harry and Susan are asleep and Dennis has just put Hannah to bed. Harry cried a little while before bed. He was hoping you'd come and kiss him goodnight."

"Oh, my poor child," Amelia said, "I hope he's alright."

Emily then said, "He'll be okay. He and Susan had their dinner. I made them some soup. There's still a little of Molly's cheese casserole, plus whatever's left of the soup. I hope it'll be enough for you. Did you eat dinner?"

"No not yet," Amelia replied, "But this should be enough for us tonight. Thank you Emily."

"No problem Amelia," Emily replied, "Well, I'd better get going now. Dennis will be waiting for me, goodnight everyone."

"Good night Emily." Amelia replied.

Emily smiled and stepped out of the house to go back to her home.

Amelia closed the door and turning to Sirius who was standing, she said, "Sirius, if you want to use the bathroom for a shower, there's two of them. One is upstairs and the other one is down the corridor just before the kitchen."

Sirius said, "Thanks Amelia. I think I'll try the upstairs one."

Amelia smiled at that.

As Sirius went upstairs, Amelia asked Remus and Dumbledore if they wanted anything, but they told her that they would rather wait for Sirius.

Sirius went upstairs and entered a corridor. He saw an entrance to a room, which looked like a playroom on the right side. After that, to his left, was a bedroom. There was another one on the right side just after that. And then, Sirius found it, the bathroom door, on the right side.

There were two other rooms at the end of the corridor, which Sirius supposed were bedrooms.

He then went to the bathroom.

Ripping off his rags, he turned on the bathroom lights and looked into the tub, debating with himself whether to have a soak or just a shower. Finally, he settled for a shower. The tub bath would be for the next morning.

He turned the knobs to start the water and made sure the temperature suited him before switching to shower mode.

He gasped in relief as he felt warm water raining down upon him, after having been subjected to the cold weather plus the dementors in Azkaban. He stood there for a while before turning to his right to find some soap and shampoo. He found a bottle of liquid soap and a shampoo bottle too, and was surprised to see some rubber ducks and a sail boat on the ledge.

Of course, Amelia had a niece. But then he remembered what she had told him. Harry was with her.

That meant he was here.

And of course, he had heard Emily mentioning that Harry had cried before falling asleep. Of course Harry was here.

He rubbed the soap all over himself, applied the shampoo in his hair, and felt joy as two and a half years of Azkaban was washed off. All that grime and mud coming out from his skin and hair was quite ghastly, but it was also a relief to have it all out.

At last, all the mud and grime was gone, and all that he had to do was rinse himself. A minute later, he was done. He found a towel in the bathroom. It was quite big which meant that it was probably Amelia's, but hopefully, she wouldn't mind.

He dried himself with that towel wrapped it around himself before stepping out of the bathroom. And then, he saw Remus standing in front of him.

Remus held out a change of nightclothes and said, "Sirius, you forgot to have a change of clothes ready for yourself."

Sirius took it and said, "Thanks Remus."

Remus then pointed to the second bedroom in the corridor saying, "That's the guest room. You'd better dress yourself up there."

Sirius went into the guestroom and smiled. There was a queen sized bed there plus a closet and drawers, a nightstand included next to the bed. And there was a window. That looked good.

He closed the door and dressed himself before proceeding to look into a mirror that was there in the room, turning on the lights to do so.

He certainly looked better, but his hair was unkempt. And his beard and moustache needed some work. Of course, he could wake up early in the morning and perhaps get Amelia to help him spruce himself up if necessary.

He stepped out of the room and made his way downstairs to the living room.

He sat down on the sofa opposite to the fireplace next to Amelia, and looked at Dumbledore and Remus who were on the adjacent couch.

Amelia smilingly handed him a tray containing a soup bowl and a plate of cheese casserole and bread saying, "Sirius, I hope you're okay with this. There wasn't much."

Sirius smiled and replied, "That looks delicious. I need something like this after that muck they serve prisoners."

As he began to eat, Dumbledore pulled out a wand from his robes and placed it in front of Sirius on the coffee table saying, "Sirius, I've got your wand here. It's time you had it back."

Sirius asked with surprise, "It wasn't destroyed?"

Dumbledore said, "No."

Sirius exclaimed, "Thank you Dumbledore for not letting it be destroyed!"

Dumbledore just smiled.

And then, as expected, Sirius asked, "So, what about my godson? When can I meet him? Is he really here?"

Dumbledore replied, "He is indeed here. Amelia brought him over here last Friday night. But you must now listen to what I have to say. For it will give you great joy and great pain."

A few minutes later…

"THOSE HORRIBLE DURSLEYS, HOW DARE THEY ABUSE MY GODSON! I'M GOING TO KILL THEM!" Sirius was yelling in a fit of rage after having heard how the Dursleys had treated Harry.

Amelia raised her voice saying, "Calm down Sirius, you'll wake Harry and Susan up!"

Sirius stopped and said, "Oh right. Sorry about that. I'm just, mad. I'm angry. How could they be so cruel?"

He turned to Amelia and continued, "Thank you so much for checking up on him and getting him out of there. I'm happy that he's with you and that you're his legal guardian. If it hadn't been for you…"

Amelia said, "As for the Dursleys, I'm planning to sue them, now that you're back with us."

Sirius said, "Good. I just wonder where…"

Amelia suddenly wrapped an arm around him saying, "Sirius, there's no question about it. You're living with us from now on."

Sirius opened his mouth in surprise and said, "Really? You mean it Amy?"

Amelia smiled mischievously and replied, "Of course I do. Harry needs his godfather and Susan would love you to stay as Uncle Sirius."

Sirius smiled and hugged her saying, "How can I ever repay you Amelia?"

Amelia smiled and said, "By staying with us."

Remus cleared his throat and spoke up, "Well Amelia, can we expect a wedding anytime soon?"

Dumbledore chuckled and said, "Remus, I think we should give those lovebirds their space."

Sirius felt his cheeks burning red.

Amelia replied, "Well yes, but first, something very important."

Dumbledore said, "Do you mean filing charges against Petunia and Vernon?"

Amelia seriously replied, "Yes."

Dumbledore said, "Well, I suggest you take some rest first. Anyway, I will be there to support you. Just let me know when you start planning."

Amelia replied, "I'll be sure to Dumbledore. Thank you for helping me to become Harry's legal guardian and getting Sirius out of Azkaban."

Dumbledore smiled and said, "I'm glad I did it. Now I must be heading home to Hogwarts."

Remus stood up saying, "I guess I'd better go too."

After several hugs, Remus and Dumbledore flooed back to their homes.

A few minutes later, Amelia and Sirius were sitting on the couch opposite to fireplace, currently lit, with the lights turned off.

Sirius was hugging Amelia saying, "I owe you my life. Thank you for saving this silly reckless man from Azkaban and my godson from those abusive Dursleys."

Suddenly, he noticed tears in Amelia's eyes.

Amelia whispered, her voice becoming emotional, "I'm sorry Sirius."

Sirius was surprised and said, "What for? You didn't do anything against me. You didn't do anything wrong."

Amelia began to cry into Sirius' chest as he held her.

Sobbing, she said, "I should have checked up on Harry myself earlier. I never did. I always went to Dumbledore when it came to him. But I should have just found Harry myself and checked up on him. And when I finally did, I waited until nightfall. I saw Harry being made to cook, getting his hand burnt, being yelled at for breaking a plate by accident, getting beaten up by his cousin, pushed away, rejected, and I didn't do anything but watch and spy on them when I should have just taken him away right then itself. Harry should have been here much earlier. I'm so sorry!"

Sirius hugged Amelia saying, "Amy, don't blame yourself. You only did what you had to do. And who knows, I probably would have done the same as you, if only to get evidence against the Dursleys and get custody of Harry, had I not been in Azkaban. And you did save him when you knew he needed you. You showed him your love and affection. Don't blame yourself Amy. I love you for who you are."

Amelia said, "He's had a few horrible nightmares. The most horrible one was after Dumbledore came and tried to send Harry back."

Sirius jolted slightly upon hearing that and asked, "When did that happen?"

Amelia told him all about Snape spying on them, Dumbledore telling her about the prophecy and the blood protection, showing him memories of Harry being abused, Dumbledore realizing his mistake, and Snape being mean to Harry.

Sirius was half angry, and half happy.

He said, "You stood against Dumbledore to protect Harry. You did what I should have done instead of blindly giving him to Hagrid. I can't believe that greasy git could be so mean to Harry! How dare he say such words! True, we bullied him and it was quite cruel on our part, but that doesn't mean it was right to treat Harry like that! If he dares to…"

Amelia held Sirius' hands and said, "Snape regretted it after I said all those words to him. He came back a few days later and apologized to Harry. He's become nice to him, and when he came here, he told Harry stories about Lily."

Sirius was stunned upon hearing that. He said, "Did he really? Well, if he did, then it's good that he did. If Harry likes him now, then it's good. I'm glad he apologized. I didn't think something like that was possible."

Amelia said with sobs, "Now you're here. Don't ever leave me like that again. Why didn't you come to me? I would have had Pettigrew caught. You should have come to me instead of rushing after Pettigrew like that. Don't leave me, don't leave Susan, Harry and I ever like that again!"

Sirius wiped her tears and said, "I won't leave you like that again. I'm so sorry. I was just, mad with grief. I couldn't think straight. I should have just taken Harry and come to you."

A minute later, Amelia calmed down. She said, "Well now we're all together like James and Lily would have wanted."

Sirius looked at the flames dancing in the fireplace and said sadly, "I wish James and Lily were alive. I wish they were here. I'm so sorry James and Lily that I could not save you."

With that, he burst into tears. This time, it was Amelia's turn to comfort him.

She held him in her arms and rocked him from side to side, wiping away his tears as she did so.

Finally, after a few minutes, Sirius calmed down.

Amelia whispered, "We'll raise Harry and Susan together now. We have them. They need us. We have them."

Sirius whispered, "You're right, and I have you."

Amelia said, "I think we should be getting into bed. You'll need some sleep Sirius."

Sirius replied, "I sure do. I guess for now, it's the guest room."

Amelia smiled mischievously and wrapping her arms around Sirius, she said, "You are in my power Sirius."

Sirius smiled and replied, "I am in your power. Destroy me and devour me if you please."

Amelia put Sirius' head in her lap and pretended to tear him apart with her nails before pretending to take a bite out of him. She whispered, "Now, I have devoured you, but guess whom I love to devour."

Sirius asked, "Let me guess, Harry and Susan?"

Amelia replied, "Correct. They are my babies, and there's nothing like eating your babies because you love them so much."

Sirius sat up and said, "True Amelia. I remember Lily pretending to eat Harry several times. Whenever I visited, I made sure to take a bite out of him. Not every single time though."

Amelia and Sirius then stood up. They hugged each other before walking up the stairs.

Sirius remarked as they reached the top, "I'll have to get a new brush for myself tomorrow."

Amelia frowned slightly and said, "Yes you will, unless, let me check."

She checked the bathroom cabinet and luckily, there happened to be a few new brushes that had not been used yet. She gave one to Sirius and said, "Now you've got a new brush for yourself, so remember to brush your teeth and set a good example for our children."

Sirius stood at attention and saluted her like a soldier.

Amelia shook her head.

After they had brushed their teeth, they stood outside the guest bedroom.

They hugged each other and Sirius whispered, "Amy, I love you."

Amelia whispered back, "I love you too Sirius."

NOTE: The Dursleys will be tried soon, so as for how they should be tried, I'd like to put it to vote.

Option A: The wizarding way. In the Ministry. Sealed trial.

Option B: The Muggle way.

Option C: A mix. Muggle Courtroom but magic will be explained to the judge and the jury, so Harry can just give his memories.

Please let me know via review.

Also, I know some of you will be thinking that Amelia will be prosecuting the Dursleys herself as a member of the DMLE. She will not preside over the trial because it would just not be right. She is Harry's guardian, so it would be an unfair advantage. If the trial is done the wizarding way, Dumbledore will preside over the trial.
