DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN HARRY POTTER.
Harry stirred in his bed as the sun shone on his face. His eyes were half closed.
He had cried before going to bed because his Mummy had not been there to kiss him good night. Of course, Aunt Emily and Aunt Molly had hugged him and kissed him, petting him and hugging him, but it hadn't felt the same as his Mummy.
Eventually though, he had fallen asleep, crying for his Mummy.
Susan had fallen asleep before him.
He was hoping that he would find his Mummy standing above him.
He opened his eyes and looked to his right and then to his left.
He didn't see his Mummy.
But on his left side, he saw someone.
He had long hair, a moustache and a beard, and was smiling sweetly at him.
Harry couldn't see him that clearly because of his short sight, but he could make him out.
This man seemed familiar. He looked like someone that his Mummy had shown him.
And then he spoke softly in wonder, "Uncle Sirius?"
Sirius moved forward and hugged Harry saying, "Harry my pup! It's me, Uncle Sirius! You remember me! Did Aunt Amelia tell you about me?"
Harry told him, "She my Mummy. You my goddaddy."
Sirius looked at him with a slightly confused expression.
Just then, he heard a female voice calling out, "First it was Aunty, then Godmummy, then it became Mummy. Lily is Mama. I'm Mummy."
Harry turned to see his Mummy standing in the room on his right.
He cried out, "Mummy!"
Amelia stretched her arms out and rushed towards him calling out, "Oh my baby boy."
Upon reaching him, she hugged him tightly saying, "Oh my baby, did you miss me? I'm so sorry I wasn't here to kiss you good night. Oh my baby boy, I'm here now."
Harry cried into her boson as she kissed him.
Amelia sat on the bed and held Harry in her arms. Sirius massaged Harry's back whispering words of comfort.
A few minutes later, Harry calmed down. Amelia kissed his cheeks and whispered, "Smile Harry. Uncle Sirius has come home."
Harry smiled, although a bit weakly after crying.
Sirius plopped Harry on the bed saying, "Let's see if this helps."
With that, he began to tickle Harry, causing him to burst into peals of laughter and squeals. After a minute of tickling, Sirius stopped and breathed a sigh of relief as he witnessed Harry beaming now.
He looked towards the bedroom door and saw a small girl with ginger colored hair.
Amelia looked at her and smilingly called out, "Susan, come say hello to Uncle Sirius."
Susan rushed forwards calling out, "Uncle Sirius!"
Sirius got off the bed, picked her up and spun her around in a circle before putting her on the bed next to Harry.
Susan looked at Harry and called out, "Good morning Harry!"
Harry hugged Susan.
Amelia said, "Well, my little ones, it's time to get you cleaned up for the day."
Sirius offered, "I could help you with giving them a bath."
Amelia replied, "Oh no Sirius, that's alright. They won't have to take their baths separately until they turn a little older."
Sirius chuckled at that.
Sometime later, Amelia was just about to place Harry and Susan in the bathtub when a large shaggy black dog nearby started panting in excitement, wagging its tail.
Amelia looked at the dog and said, "Oh Sirius, can you show your animal transformations later? As you can see, I'm giving Harry and Susan a bath, not you."
Harry and Susan giggled.
Sirius shifted back into his human form.
Harry cried out, "Doggie Uncle Sirius!"
Susan cried out, "The dog is Uncle Sirius!"
Sirius laughed and said, "Well yes, I can turn into a dog. And I can…"
"Sirius," Amelia spoke warningly, "quit your transformation mania here! That's not on the agenda for bath time!"
Harry and Susan giggled at that.
Later on, Harry, Sirius and Susan were sitting at the dining table, Sirius next to Harry on his right and Susan sitting opposite to them.
Amelia came in and placed a couple of fruit bowls in front of the children and Sirius.
She cooed, "My sweet little babies, eat your fruit, and then Mummy will soon have freshly made waffles for you."
Sirius got up and walked over to Amelia saying, "Amy, let me help you."
Amelia replied, "Sirius, I can handle it myself."
Sirius moved behind her and hugged her saying, "Amy, please, just let this silly dog help you."
Amelia laughingly replied, "Alright. Come on in."
A few minutes later, Sirius came out of the kitchen holding two plates of waffles with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and tiny orange slices.
Harry's eyes widened with wonder as he got his plate. His waffle looked quite large, and delicious.
He picked up his fork and tried to take a piece, but this turned out to be hard.
Sirius moved over calling out, "Just wait for a moment kiddos. I'll help you."
He cut Harry's and Susan's waffles into pieces for them, and fed them each a bite with his own hands. They beamed as they felt the delicious taste of waffles inside their mouths.
Sirius said, "Well, I see you're quite happy. I'd better wash my hands."
A minute later, Sirius and Amelia were sitting down at the table, eating their own waffles along with the children.
Sirius asked, "So Amelia, what should we do today?"
Amelia replied, "Well, obviously spend time together."
Sirius said, "Definitely. Well in any case, it's a good thing we got my moustache and beard spruced up this morning. That trimmer that Remus lent proved to be useful. Otherwise, my face would have been a frightful sight."
Amelia commented, "You nearly nicked yourself with it."
Sirius replied, "Oh come on, it was just a small scratch."
Just then, they heard a screech coming from somewhere. They looked towards the backdoor, and saw a grey owl crash into it and fall down.
"Oh my goodness," Amelia cried out as she got up and rushed to open the glass door and carefully pick up the owl.
It twitched slightly, but other than that, nothing happened.
Amelia carried it over to the far side of the table and examined it.
Sirius came over to help her. Harry and Susan were about to get up but Sirius told them to sit down and eat.
And then, they noticed an envelope that the owl was clinging onto with its talons.
Slowly, they extracted the envelope and opened it to find a letter.
Dear Amelia and Sirius,
First of all, I wish to offer my congratulations to you Sirius on your release. I am deeply sorry that you had to suffer for two and a half years for something you did not do. The real traitor, Peter Pettigrew was in our house all this time, posing as a harmless pet rat. I had no idea that it was actually a Death Eater when Percy brought it to me. None of us had any idea. He appeared in our garden as a rat and was found by Percy. None of us had any idea that this rat was actually a Death Eater. I am deeply sorry that all this has happened. I swear, if we had known who this rat really was, we would have instantly turned him in.
I also wish to express my gratitude to you Amelia. If it had not been for you and Dumbledore, Crouch would have arrested my husband and sent him to Azkaban for no fault of his.
I'm very happy that you and Sirius have Harry with you. I was so furious with the way those Dursleys harassed Harry yesterday. They are monsters.
I would love for you all to join us for lunch today. Besides, Ron badly wants to play with Harry and Susan. He's been asking for them all morning.
Please reply as soon as possible.
Thank you,
Your friend,
Molly Weasley.
Amelia looked at Sirius after they had read the letter and asked, "Sirius, what do you think?"
Sirius replied, "Well, that sounds like a good idea to me. And it sounds lovely to know that Harry and Susan have good friends."
Amelia smiled and announced, "Children, today, we are going to go to Ron's house for lunch and a play date."
Harry and Susan let out cries of delight upon hearing that.
After giving the owl a few owl treats, Amelia sent the owl on its way and went to the living room to floo call the Weasleys and let them know that they would be coming at 11:30 am.
After everyone had finished their breakfast, Sirius said, "Well, I think I'd like to get a bit of air in the backyard. It looks pretty fantastic. Nice treehouse and a pool you've got there."
Amelia turned to Sirius and asked, "Sirius, can I just have a word with you for a minute, alone?"
Sirius nodded and Amelia turned to the children and said, "Harry, Susie, just go to the playroom and wait for a few minutes, okay."
"Okay," they both replied and headed to the playroom.
Amelia led Sirius to the living room and they sat down on the couch adjacent to the fireplace.
Sirius asked, "Amelia is there something you want to tell me?"
Amelia replied, "I just want to tell you how glad I am to have you back."
Sirius smiled at that.
He then asked, "Amy, last night, you mentioned that Harry had nightmares. Has it been happening every night?"
Amelia explained, "The night I brought him over, I think he had one, because he cried out loudly in the middle of the night. The next night, he had one about that horrible Halloween night and Vernon and Petunia yelling at him that I don't love him. The worst one was Tuesday night, after the incident with Dumbledore and Snape. It was horrible. He dreamt that I called him a freak, pushed him away from me and told him that I hated him and that I would leave him. He dreamt that I abandoned him." She ended her explanation on an emotional note.
Sirius hugged her and said, "Amy, I know you'd never do that. You know, James and Lily should have made you godmother. You are the best one. Harry loves you and I know you love him. You saved him and I know you'd never leave him."
Amelia whispered, "That night was the night he first called me Mummy."
As they ended the embrace, Sirius replied, "You're the mother that Harry needs. I know you'll never let him forget Lily. I know you love him like your own child, just as I love him like my own."
Amelia asked, "If Harry and Susan were to start calling you Daddy, would you be okay with it?"
Sirius remained silent for some moments before replying, "If Harry wants me to be Daddy instead of Uncle or Padfoot or Paddy, that's alright with me, as long as he doesn't forget James. Same with Susan, as long she doesn't forget her father."
"They won't," Amelia replied.
Sirius looked to the side for a minute and then turned towards Amelia.
Placing his hands in hers, he said, "Amelia, there's something I want to ask you. I actually wanted to before that fateful Halloween night but I never got to."
Amelia asked, "What is it?"
Sirius was silent for a moment before he asked, "Amelia, are you willing to marry a silly, reckless man?"
Amelia looked into Sirius hopeful eyes for a few moments. She then held Sirius' hands in hers tightly and exclaimed, "Of course I will Sirius!"
Holding each other's hands, they smiled at each other and slowly leaned towards each other for a kiss, closing their eyes as they did so.
And then, a head popped up in between them.
Amelia found herself kissing a forehead, and Sirius found himself kissing a mop of hair.
They opened their eyes to see Harry who had clambered on to their laps.
Amelia and Sirius wrapped their arms around Harry before ending the kiss.
Amelia smiled at Harry and placing him on her lap, she said, "You naughty little one, you want a kiss?"
Sirius smiled at Harry and spoke, "You are very naughty Prongslet. That kiss what meant for me, and you stole it. Do you know what I do to little boys that steal kisses meant for me?"
"N-no… w-what?" Harry stammered.
Sirius shouted, "WE GOBBLE THEM UP!"
With that, he gathered Harry in his arms and was about to eat him when suddenly, even as Harry let out a squeal, Amelia stood up, placed her hands balled into fists on her hips, and glared at them.
"Sirius," Amelia declared, "Did you forget what I told you last night? I love to devour Harry and Susan, and he is mine to devour!" With that, she placed her right hand on her chest and stood there like a proud and evil queen.
She then sat down and took Harry's right hand saying, "But, since you're Sirius, I'll share him with you. You eat Harry's left fingers. I'll eat his right ones."
Sirius took Harry's left hand and he and Amelia prepared to eat Harry's fingers.
Suddenly, they heard someone cry, "EEEE!"
They saw Susan who had cried out, standing in front of them.
Amelia quickly stood up and began to chase Susan calling out, "Susan, I'm coming to eat you! I'm going to eat you!"
She chased Susan all the way to playroom and after catching her there, she brought her down to the living room and found Sirius pretending to eat Harry.
"Sirius," Amelia cried out, "Didn't I tell you that I'm supposed to eat him, and that you can only eat his left fingers?"
Sirius smilingly replied, "You never said anything about his tummy. Besides, I only just started."
Amelia glared at Sirius as she moved to sit beside him.
She looked at Susan and said, "Now, I'm going to eat you up! What should I start with? Aha! I know what I should do!"
She took Susan's left hand and nibbled her fingers before proceeding to attack her tummy, causing Susan to squeal and squirm. After a minute, she stopped and placing Susan in between herself and Sirius, she took Harry from his lap and placed him in her own lap.
"Don't worry baby," Amelia spoke, "Mummy will eat you up now!"
With that, she 'ate' Harry's right fingers and then his tummy and cheeks. Finally, she stopped and kissed him all over his face before placing him next to Sirius who was currently holding Susan in his lap.
Susan cried out, "Uncle Sirius! Don't eat me!"
Sirius said softly, "Don't worry, you've already been eaten, so how can I eat you? It's over now, and Uncle Sirius, also known as Padfoot or Paddy will keep you safe."
Harry wrapped his arms around his godfather's neck, crying out, "PADDY!"
Amelia laughed even as Sirius adjusted both Harry and Susan on his lap.
Finally, he said, "Why don't we go out into the garden for a while?"
With that, he stood up and carried Harry and Susan in his arms to the backdoor. He placed them down and opened the door for all of them to step outside into the late morning air.
Amelia followed them and smiled at Sirius.
Sirius then turned to the children and asked, "Let's do something fun now."
With that, he transformed into a dog and sat down.
Harry and Susan let out cries of delight and excitement and climbed on to Sirius' back. Sirius slowly stood up, and Amelia adjusted the children so that they were sitting properly and wouldn't fall off, telling them to hold on tightly as well as warning Sirius aka Padfoot not to run too fast.
Padfoot the dog began to trot ahead, wagging his tail. Harry and Susan were delighted as the dog moved ahead. Slowly and slowly, the dog's speed increased, and soon, Padfoot was running at a moderate speed, with Amelia behind him to make sure nothing went wrong.
A few minutes later, he stopped and flopped down. Amelia called out, "Harry, Susan, come on, it's time to get off Uncle Padfoot."
Harry and Susan looked slightly disappointed that it was over but obeyed. Sirius transformed back into a man and lay down on the grass beside them.
Harry and Susan lay down too. Amelia came and sat down with them. She stretched her arms forward and began to tickle them, sending them into peals of laughter. A minute later, she stopped and pulled them into her lap saying, "No sleeping, there's a whole day ahead of us. Come sit up. Sit in my lap you little ones."
Sirius sat up and took Harry's and Susan's hands into his, even as Amelia wrapped one arm around the children and the other around him.
