Theodore and Barrington Barge

Another day in the Great Big Harbour and Theodore was happily cruising along. Or was he? He was thinking about what happened last week. "Morning Theodore," Digby called out to Theodore. "Morning," Theodore replied.

"So what the deal?" asked Digby, "What is going on?" "I don't know," Theodore answered, "But I have a feeling is that someone is after us. That's it." Digby thought about it for a moment. "Well, if what you say is true," murmured Digby, "We better be on our guard." "Right," Theodore agreed as left to get his barge.

And Digby chuffed away. At a small cargo dock, Barrington Barge was waiting happily for Theodore. But Theodore was in no mood for smiling. He was thinking about something serious. So Barrington didn't ask any questions.

The job that day was for Theodore to take Barrington loaded with pipes to the oil refinery. After the pipes were loaded onto the little barge, Theodore towed Barrington towards the oil refinery. When George said hello to Theodore, he didn't reply back. Theodore was still thinking about the attacker.

Then Theodore passed by Bedford Buoy. "Hello, Theodore," called Bedford. Theodore just sped by. "Must be in a hurry," Bedford thought to himself. After Theodore got to the oil refinery, he immediately had Barrington unloaded.

He even didn't say hello to Sigrid who was resting at a nearby dock. "Theodore, what's up with you today?" asked Sigrid. Theodore jumped. Sigrid finally got Theodore's attention. "Oh, wait, what is it?" Theodore stammered. "I'm worried about you," said Sigrid, "Everyone is worried."

"Sorry, Sigrid, I'm still thinking about what happened last week," replied Theodore, "You remembered it, right?" Sigrid did remember and it frightened her to think about it. "Sorry," Theodore said to Sigrid.

After a while, Theodore set off with Barrington to loading dock 1. Two heavy crates were stacked onto Barrington, ready to go to the crane dock. Theodore set off, but the crates were not properly secured, so Theodore had to be careful.

He put away his thoughts about last week for the moment and focused on his current job. Theodore was halfway there before something happened. However, Hank was in a rush. He was going to tell Sigrid that Owan needed his supplies.

But Hank accidentally bumped into Barrington and thus, the crate on top fell onto Hank and smashed into pieces. "Now I have one crate," groaned Barrington. "Hank, what are you doing?" cried Theodore.

"Owan's new supplies are ready," replied Hank in a shaky tone of voice. "Let me guess," replied Theodore, "They got burned last week? Beyond medium rare?" "Yes," answered Hank.

"Well," Theodore said, "All right. But now you have to wait." With that said, Theodore and Hank had to wait for the cargo that was inside the broken crate to be cleared up and loaded back into Barrington.

George brought Bobby barge to fish most of the loads from the ocean. Hank had to wait until the crate pieces were removed Then, Theodore set off again with Barrington and Hank left to tell Sigrid.

After the crate and the cargo pieces were delivered to the crane dock Theodore took Barrington back home. When he got there, he docked Barrington and prepared to go back home to his dock.

"Good night, Barrington," Theodore said to the barge, "See you tomorrow." "Ok," Barrington replied. Theodore left for home, still thinking of how to protect everyone in the Big Harbour when he got back. He knew this would be a challenge.

But that's another story for another day.
