"On second thought, maybe this is a bad idea." Pom-Pom nervously said as he looked through the door. Void noticed he was starting to sweat bullets as he stood there looking through the small window on it. "Are you sure you can't wait to a little longer before sending home Flamescion?"
"I said I'd get her home as soon as possible," Void answered. She didn't want to leave little Ms. Perfect in her home any longer. The last thing she needed was to get another sister, especially one like Flamescion here. No doubt Kiana and Sirin might get attached, as would the others. "Besides what has so you frazzled?" Void questioned as she looked through.
"Hey, keep your head down. They'll spot us." Pom-Pom warned her as he pulled her out of view.
"Who will spot us?" Void questioned.
"The kids," Pom-Pom whispered. "Bailu, Hook, and Clara," Pom-Pom explained.
"Excuse me."
"Those little rascals won't let Pom-Pom go if they see me. They'll hug me and squeeze me non-stop and pull my ears." Pom-Pom explained.
"Seriously?"
"Seriously, Pom-Pom can't handle it." He grimaced.
"Then fight back." Void chided. "If you are the Space to Paimon's Time then surely you must have some power."
"Okay so one, Pom-Pom doesn't just go and use their power for reckless and petty reasons like that. Two…even if I did, I'd make the kids sad, Pom-Pom is supposed to be a cool and lovable conductor; how am I supposed to be cool and lovable if I make kids sad. Three Svarog."
"Svarog?" Void questioned.
"Svarog. You make hurt kid's feelings, Svarog hurts you." Pom-Pom explains.
"Okay," Void answered. "So, what are we supposed to do?" She questioned.
"Hmm…." Pom-Pom pondered. "I got it. You just go and…" Pom-Pom jumped up to the window. "You see that guy with the brown hair? Go and ask him to come over to meet with us."
"Just like that?"
"Just like that," Pom-Pom answered. "If the kids see you just say you're a visitor looking to sell romance light novels. That should deter them from asking any further questions."
"And you're sure that will work?"
"Positive," Pom-Pom answered. "Besides…what's the worst that could happen?" Pom-Pom had no idea how he had just jinxed himself.
With no other options, Void phased through the door and slowly made her way over to where the brown-haired man was standing. She took care to avoid the children who seemed more engrossed in Serval's song than anything else. Upon getting closer she realized something. That man was very familiar, in fact, he looked a lot like the Second Herrscher of Reason, Welt Yang.
"There is no way that's him." Void thought before a devilish smile appeared on her lips.
Welt groaned as he leaned against the wall. Himeko had made another attempt at coffee and Welt had been unfortunate to be the one to taste it. He was now feeling nauseous but powered through for the sake of her and the rest. He was lucky Serval was here to play music for the kids, she had been great at distracting them. Bailu, Clara, Hook, Dan, Stelle, and March all seemed to flock to her like moths. Now if he could just rest a little bit, maybe he could let the effects of the coffee pass him.
"Hello, Reason." A voice whispered behind Welt. He quickly turned around to find himself face to face with a familiar pair of glowing amber eyes, with crosshair focused on him. Welt choked on his own breath as he saw the Herrscher of the Void before him, not as Sirin but as Kiana Kaslana.
Welt felt his hair stand on edge. This wasn't happening, this wasn't happening, THIS WASN'T HAPPENING! His heart began beating faster as the Herrscher looked at him. His legs suddenly felt like jelly. Before he could even register what was going on, everything faded to black, and Welt felt himself falling.
Pom-Pom swore under his breath after witnessing it all unfold. "Carrot sticks."
"So, Kiana, do Cecilia and Siegfied know you two snuck out?" Thunder questioned as she poured out another shot of chocolate milk. She could see her previous enthusiasm for Kiana dissipate as the words reached her ears. The little girl was now hesitant to take the milk.
"Um…. well." Kiana trailed off trying to find the right words. She could only find one. "No."
"I see." Thunder questioned. "You do realize how much trouble you and Sirin are in now right."
"Please don't tell. Pretty please." Kiana flashed Thunder the puppy dog eyes as she pleaded. Thunder took one look at her and with her cold dead heart…. Thunder caved like collapsing tunnel.
"Fine, but if they ask, I am gonna sell you out." Thunder answered.
"Trust me, they'll never know. Bella is covering for us." Kiana said proudly.
A few hours ago with Bella….
Siegfied looked at the dragon. "Where are the kids?" He questioned as he brandished Shamash.
Bella looked at him, several thoughts running through her head. 'Act dumb,'
"What kids?" Bella answered before mentally kicking herself. 'Not that dumb.'
"Bella," Siggy repeated.
"I know nothing, you'll never make me talk you insect." Bella refused. Then Cecilia appeared.
"Bella Benares Kaslana, where are my daughters?" Cecilia asked in a very polite tone. Bella felt herself begin to shiver, her gem of haste freezing at Cecilia's unnervingly polite smile and tone. The dragon…. cracked.
"They are at Void and Thunder's place. It was Kiana's idea, she begged Sirin. I tried to stop them, but Kiana gave me the puppy dog eyes and Sirin ordered me to stall you." Bella confessed in one fell swoop.
"How do you do that?" Siegfied questioned.
"A mother's secret," Cecilia answered. "Now, Bella, get ready, we're going to get to them." She told the dragoness.
Present moment
Thunder looked on at Kiana, doubtful about her claims. "Welp, enjoy your milk." She answered as she went to grab an aspirin. Angry parents…this was going to be a headache if it did happen. The alternative of them meeting Flamescion and there being a lot of awkwardness between the group was not a fun option either. "This is going to be a long night." Thunder thought.
"CLEAR!" Bailu screamed as she rubbed the lightning in her palms before pressing it on Welt's chest. The former Herrscher bolted up, as the electricity revived him. Welt breathed heavily as he leaned forward. His mind trying to catch up with him.
"Are you okay Mr. Welt?" March asked. Welt looked around at the crew of the Express. March and the others were all looking at him with worried faces. The kids looked somewhat scared of him.
"I'm fine." Welt lied. Not wanting to stress them out further. "I just felt a little dizzy that's all." He tried to explain.
"That's it. Himeko's coffee is to be banned now. It's clearly hazardous to your health." Bailu huffed.
"Oh, come on, it wasn't that bad," Himeko told them.
"Eh, I've tasted worse." The familiar voice added. Welt froze. Wait…. surely that had just been a dream, right? A nightmare that had been called forth by the bad coffee. He slowly turned his head and was created by none other than the Herrscher of the Void herself. "Hey gramps. Should I say nice to meet you or Good to see you again?" She chuckled.
Welt fainted once more.
"You killed him." Hook said in disbelief.
"Eh, I tried before. He'll live." Void answered as she opened a portal above Welt. The next thing everyone knew was a large surge of water came through, dousing Welt before going through an exit portal.
Welt coughed up water as he was revived once more. This time though he wasn't caught off guard. He quickly turned to Void with a determined look. "You." His voice reverbed, in a way like Void.
"Yes, me," Void answered. Before she could say anything else, Welt tapped into the power of Reason and surrounded Void with every manner of weaponry he could create and fit within the space around them.
"Don't even think about hurting them, Herrscher." Welt threatened as the weapons all locked onto the Herrscher.
"If I wanted to do that, I'd have already done so while you were unconscious," Void explained as she held her hands up in defense.
"Can someone please explain, WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?" March questioned. She had never seen Welt lose his cool before, not even with the Stellaron hunters.
"Go on Reason. Explain to her what's going on." Void passed the situation off to her technical senior.
"This is the Herrscher of the Void, Sirin," Welt told them. "She's a dangerous individual who seeks to eradicate humanity." He explained.
"Hey, I stopped with the genocide a long time ago. Now I'm just apathetic and waiting for humanity to destroy themselves through their own device." Void rebutted.
"What's jello cide?" Hook questioned.
"Hook, it's genocide." Clara clarified.
"It means she tried to kill everyone." Dan Heng explained.
"That was one time…. Okay, maybe two times. Does it count as one if I include the whole of Second Eruption as a single time and my reawakening as another?" Void questioned.
"I don't know." Stelle shrugged. "Wait, why are we even debating this?" She rationalized as she drew out her bat. "What do you want from us?" She pointed to the bat accusingly.
"First off nice bat, second I came here as a guest," Void explained as she showed them her ticket. "I was even invited aboard by the conductor, himself." She told them.
All eyes suddenly shifted to the nervous little rabbit in the conductor's outfit. "Uh…Pom-Pom can explain." He told them nervously.
"You don't have to explain yourself," Thunder told Flamescion over their link. "If you want you can just sneak out before they arrive, and I can cover for you. I'm sure Sirin wouldn't mind keeping quiet." She told the other Herrscher.
"As tempting as that is, I still want to see them," Flamescion responded. "I know they aren't technically my real parents, but…." Flamescion held her tongue.
Thunder sighed. "But they are the closest thing you have to what you lost." She finished. "I know." She told Flamescion. "But aren't you worried about what they might think of you?"
"Don't take this the wrong way, but I uh…. I'm kind of confident they might like me if they already treat HoV so well." Flamescion admitted.
"That's…. a fair assessment. Void can be a pain. I'm pretty sure her appearance alone can cause some people to faint in shock." Thunder told her. "But Siggy and Cecilia never thought any less of her for it, I think."
"And it's also nice to see Bella again," Flamescion added.
"Well if that's the case, let's meet in the living room, I'm sure they'll have arrived by now," Thunder told her.
The quartet soon regrouped in the living room and as predicted the doorbell soon rang. "I wonder who that could be." Thunder feigned as she walked over to door. When she opened it, it was as expected, a passively aggressive Cecilia and Siegfied were standing on the other side, with a very apologetic and remorseful Bella in between them.
"So…" Thunder trailed off.
"Are they here?" The parents didn't even miss a beat.
"Yes." Thunder answered. She distinctly heard the smol Tuna yell traitor before attempting to flee in the background. Keyword attempts as the two Herrschers were more than enough for her. Thunder unceremoniously opened the door to reveal the small kid struggling to free herself in Flamescion's grasp.
Upon seeing her parents, Kiana could only swear under her breath. "Aw, biscuits." However, she was not the only one who was a bit shocked as her captor had also gone silent as she stared at them.
"Mom, Old Man," Flamescion whispered as she saw them. Her voice was quiet but steady. She could feel her body stiffen at the sight of them, remaining unmoving even with the kid in her arms. Flamescion hadn't even realized it, but tears had started to trickle down her face.
Cecilia and Siegfied could only stare back at her. "What's wrong with Void?" They both questioned.
