Hank And The Heavy Ship
Today, all of the tugboats were working with barge duties. All except Hank, who remained at his dock for the moment. "Ah," Hank sighed, "Everyone is busy today. Everyone, except me. Oh well." Right now Hank is daydreaming.
"Oh boy," Hank said in his daydream, "My one chance to ride the ultimate wave! It's time to say. Uh, what do they call it? Who knows?"
Hank was enjoying his short daydream when The Dispatcher called him, "Hank." "Tugboat! Hi!" Hank replied suddenly, "Oh, sir! Yes, sir?" "Oh," the Dispatcher said, "Enjoying your daydream again, aren't you?" "Kind of," Hank replied. "Anyway, Hank," the Dispatcher went on, "Since every tugboat is busy today, I need you to bring in a big ship."
This made Hank excited. "You can count on me!" Hank said out loud. "Good," said the Dispatcher, "You may start now." "Yes, sir!" Hank replied as he set out to meet the big ship.
In a few minutes, Hank met the big container ship. Her name is Elo Echo and today, she is loaded with containers. Petra was already there, waiting for Hank. "Ahoy!" Hank called to the big container ship. "Why hello," Elo Echo said. "Hi," Hank said, "My name is Hank and I'm a Hankboat. Oh drat! I meant tugboat! And I am an ocean tug now!"
"Well," Elo Echo said, "Nice to meet you, Hank." "So why did you-" Hank started to ask a question. "It's a long story," explained Elo Echo. She decided to be more careful, after nearly running into rocks a long time ago.
Right away, Hank button onto Elo Echo and began to bring her into the harbour. "Be careful," said Petra, "There are razor sharp underwater rocks in your path. That, you can imagine. Avoid them at all cost!" "Right!" Hank replied. So Hank began to bring in the big ship.
It was difficult to get her moving at first, but Hank began to move the big container ship only after 5 minutes. "I know this is hard work!" Hank groaned, "But there's no way I'm giving up!" Soon, Hank was approaching one underwater rock. Petra immediately detected it with her sonar.
"Hank," she called out. "Right," Hank replied and he dodged the big rock. Soon, they were approaching another rock, but Hank managed to dodge this rock, too. Then another, and another. "Tough job," Hank growled, "But I'm not giving up!" "You haven't given up!" Elo Echo said to Hank.
So Hank continued dodging rocks. At one point, he almost hit one rock himself, but he managed to steer clear of it by an inch. "Good work, Hank!" called Petra, "You're already a great tug in charge!" "Right!" Hank groaned, "I can do this!" "Yes!" said Elo Echo, "You are a great tug in charge!" "You can say that 3000 times," Hank groaned, "And it's worth it." "All right," said Petra.
When Hank arrived at the crane dock, he docked Elo Echo. "The job is done," Hank said with a sigh of relief. "Yes," said Elo Echo, "It is." "Right," agreed Petra. "And now," Hank sighed, "Rest time. So, Hank returned to his dock. "Good work, Hank," said The Dispatcher when Hank arrived. But Hank had already fallen asleep.
Moments later, the other tugboats arrived. "Looks like Hank has been busy," said George. "Agreed," said Foduck. "Well, that's that," said Emily. "Right," said Theodore, "I think we should leave him alone." So that's what they did. Hank just slept for the rest of the day.
