Prison Break
Inside a laboratory in a big castle, screams of pain can be heard. It then shows that Max is strapped to a table and being tortured as some of the coven soldiers are zapping him with some different colored crystals. He seems to be stripped of his clothes except his boxers and white t-shirt. Just then a man wearing white robes and a golden mask comes in. This is Emperor Belos.
Emperor Belos looks at Max and says, "How goes the experiment, captain?"
Captain says, "Well my Emperor, we have subjected this human with these elemental crystals as you instructed. But after 18 hours, nothing turned up. Do you want us to continue?"
Emperor Belos thinks about it and says, "That will no longer be necessary. Consider this experiment a failure. Have this human moved to the Conformatorium."
The Captain salutes and says, "Right away, sir!"
Just then another guard runs into the lab and said, "Emperor Belos, we spotted the Owl Lady.
"Good. You all get out there and capture her.", said Emperor Belos
The guards salute and left the lab. The captain is confused and says, "But what about the human?"
Emperor Belos says, "We'll deal with him later. Right now the Owl Lady is our top priority"
The Captain sighs and says, "Very well" He then follows the Emperor outside the lab, leaving Max all alone. Just then, something came flying through the window. It was the same bat from before and he was panting.
The bat says, "Phew, that was a long fly. I feel like my wings are gonna fall off." He then notices Max and flies over to him "Hey! Are you okay?! Say something!"
Max begins to slowly wake up. But when he saw a one eyed blue bat in front of him, he got surprised
Max yelled, "Whoa! A bat!?
The bat quickly covers his mouth
The bat said, "Shh! Quiet! We don't want any of those guards to hear us."
Max looks around the room to take a look at his surroundings.
Max says, "Where am I?"
The bat responds, "You're in some sort of laboratory. Those guys seem to do a lot of experiments in there"
Max says, "And I'm guessing I'm one of them"
The bat answered, "You sure are" He then begins to undo the shackles. "Don't worry, kid. I'll get you out of here. It might take a few minutes"
Just as he's doing that, Max struggles to get himself out. Suddenly, his body explodes in flames, allowing him to easily break free of his shackles, much to the bat's surprise.
The bat said in surprised, "Or you can do it"
Max got off from the table and began to examine himself as the bat jumped off and landed on the floor. He was surprised.
"What happened to me!?"
The bat tried his best to explain, "Looks like whatever those guys did to you, gave you this new pyro form"
Max thought, "Hmm. I always wondered how I could get super powers, and it looks like I found my answer" His new fire form then went away and he was back to his normal form. He said, "Oh, I guess I powered down. Well, time to get out of here" He was about to leave the lab, but he then sees that he is in his t-shirt and boxers. He asked, "Um, where are my clothes?"
The bat answered, "Oh, um. There right over there" He points to the left where his clothes are in a nearby box. Max rushes over to the box, takes them out and puts them back on.
"Thanks. Well I guess, I'm out of here", said Max. He begins to walk out of the room, but the bat flies right in front of him.
"Hold on! Can you at least take me with you?"
"Why?", asked Max
"Well, I figured since you are new to this place, you would need a guide. So can you please let me tag along? Please!?", begged the bat.
Max thinks about it and then answered, "I suppose it wouldn't hurt. Okay little bat. You got yourself a deal. You can come with me"
"Yes! Thank you!" The bat flew onto Max's shoulder and replied, " Oh and my name is Shartok, by the way"
"Fair enough", said Max. "My name is Maxwell Corven. But you can call me Max"
"Nice to meet you" said Shartok
"Alright then, Let's go!" said Max
The two new friends rush out of the lab and navigated through the castle. As they ran through the hall, they did their best to keep out of sight. As they navigate through the castle, Max asked Shartok, "So, what is this place?"
Shartok answered, "You're in the castle of Emperor Belos."
"Who is he?" asked Max
"He's the guy that runs the Boiling Isles in the Demon Realm"
"That's where I am, right?" asked Max
"Uh huh"
"Wow", said Max
"Halt!"
They both turn around to see a coven scout running right towards them. Wanting to get payback, Max gives the scout a punch that knocks them out. The duo continues to work their way through the castle to try to find an exit. They then notice a few guards walking towards them. Thinking fast, they hid in another room which is filled with different treasures. Max looked at it in awe.
"What is all this?"
Shartok answered, "These are all the relics that Belos kept over the years. I would say that it's his own personal collection"
"Interesting", said Max
They opened the door and see that the coast is clear. The duo raced out and through the hall they then see a door
"That door must lead to the exit", said Shartok as they run towards it
"We're home free", said Max. But just then the floor becomes covered in goo and he slips making him hit the ground. He turns around to see a more guards coming over.
One of the guards, "The prisoner's escaping. Get him!"
Seeing that he will have to fight again, Max gets into a fighting stance. As some of the guards charge in, Max punches two of them and does a spin attack on two other guards. He dodges a vine that attempts to tangle him due to one of the guards doing magic. He quickly does a low sweep on the guard and knocks him out with a punch.
"Whoa! When did you learn to fight like that?", asked Shartok.
"From playing video games", answered Max
"What is that?" asked Shartok
"I'll tell you later" said Max. He then notices a lever. "This lever has to do something"
He pulls the lever and then open the door. Seeing a metal bridge going to a ledge, Max begins to take off. But as he reaches the end, the bridge begins to retract. Looking back he sees one of the Coven Guards had pulled the switch back. Thinking quickly, Max steps back, runs over, and jumps. Luckily, he was able to grab the ledge. Max then hoist himself up.
"Phew. Made it", said Max
"Sweet Freedom!", said Shartok. "Nice thinking, Max"
"Thanks for that, Shartok. Now let's beat it before more of those guys show up", said Max
They both race away. Shartok looks back at the guards watching them.
"So long, suckers!", taunted Shartok
In the throne room, a guard rushed in
"Emperor Belos", he said "The prisoner has escaped!"
"What?!"
"The human broke out and escaped from the castle. Shall we go after him?" asked the guard
"No. We will let him go for now. But when the time comes, we shall recapture him"
