Dear parents
I'm not sure how I should start a letter after three years of silence. Since that day I've been in a hospital for a year. A nice girl helped me, Rose, she's very nice, you would've loved her mom. Dad you'll be proud, I've learned a lot of things about medicine. When I was there the only thing I was able to think was how to get out of there, the same white ceiling, the same people. I couldn't take anymore. I also miss writing, I've stopped since that day. I miss you both. I think I need to come back to feel better. What happened during this three years?
Write me soon.

Anne and Gilbert were shocked. He's dead. He died. They couldn't stop thinking about that. They stared at each other. Gilbert, with his friendly eyes and his gray hair. Anne with her red hair that now were fading into gray and her dreaming eyes. He died. We read the letter.
"He's dead." Anne wasn't understanding. Who died? "Gil, who died? Who are you taking about?" Gilbert looked so old and tired "Walt" he said. "Where? Where did that happen?" Anne could not believe, his baby boy. "Somewhere in France"
She started sobbing, that couldn't be real.
Hey buddy
it's your big brother talking, how are things going? It's so strange saying "big brother" not because of you, but I've never saw myself as your big brother, I've always hoped that Jem was enough. You see, me and Jen always wanted a little brother. Nothing against the twins but they never wanted to play with us. Unfortunately for you, you arrived when it was too late we were already grown up and that games became boring. Don't tell Jem but, you're my favorite brother. I hope you don't blame me so much for not being a good example. Please write me back soon.

Shirley was speachless, he wasn't dead, but the thing that surprised him the most was that Walter underestimate himself at the point where he wasn't even able to be a good brother, when he taught him how to be human and that he was worth it. Shirley got distracted by an address "Curcellette"
"Shirley, we have to talk" he interrupted his reading "About what?" His dad seemed so worried "It's about your brother" he took a deep breath "Walter died"
He remembered his dad saying that Walter died somewhere in France, wasn't there a battle? Curcellette. He started looking for a map. "That's to small to be found on a map like that" He turned and met his brother's eyes.
