Chapter 13: The 12 Dancing Penns of Thanksgiving

(Intro)

Thanksgiving at Penn Stables. The Penn family was getting everything ready for their big day. "Alright. Benny, Charlie, go out and buy our favorite foods for the Thanksgiving dinner." Connor said. "We're on it, pops." Benny said as he and Charlie got on Longma, Benny's new Turquoise Dragon, and Dyonne, and rode off.

"You know, Beau, there's the one important tradition we've always had every Thanksgiving." Artha said. "What tradition is that, Artha?" Beau asked. "Dancing. The Penn Family Dance is the one important tradition we've ever had. It's been that way for generations. My siblings and I have loved dancing since we were kids." Artha explained. "I've always been curious. Who taught you kids to dance so good?" Beau asked. "Our late grandparents. They taught us to dance. They were an amazing dancing couple when they were young before they got married and had my dad. Dad was a great dancer too. He first danced with my mom when they first met as teenagers and fell in love." Artha explained. "That's so sweet." Beau said. "And after my parents got married, and my mom gave birth to me and my octuplet siblings, Grandma and Grandpa taught us to dance when we were 6-years-old. It was there that we developed our passion for dancing." Artha explained. "What happened to your grandparents?" Beau asked. "Well, sadly, Grandma suffered from an illness and passed away." Artha said with sadness. "Oh. I'm sorry." Beau said. "It's okay, bro. But at least she taught her granddaughters to dance with beauty and grace." Artha said.

"What happened next?" Beau asked. "Well, 3 months after her passing, Derek had his accident and hurt his leg, leaving him unable to dance." Artha said. "Oh yeah, you told me about that mess." Beau said. "Yeah. But 2 weeks after, my little quadruplet siblings were born. When they turned 6, we taught them how to dance, passing on what Grandma and Grandpa taught us." Artha said. "Oh, that is so nice." Beau said. "Then, Grandpa gave us a very special story book on Thanksgiving as a gift." Artha said. "The book about the Legend of Dradevows." Beau said. Artha nodded. "But sadly, after that Thanksgiving, Grandpa passed away from heart failure. The last thing he said to us was this. 'There's a difference only you can make. Love will be your guide as long as you all continue dancing with all the love you have in your hearts.' And today, my siblings and I continue dancing, just like Grandpa told us." He explained. "Wow. I'm sorry about your grandparents. They sounded like great people." Beau said. "They were. The greatest people my siblings and I ever had in our lives. Though I sometimes wish that they were still here. So, they could meet you and Kitt and Parmon. And see how much things have changed." Artha said. Beau nuzzled his human brother in comfort.

"We're back with the food!" Benny called as he, Charlie, Longma and Dyonne returned with their favorite foods for Thanksgiving. "Alright, everyone, let's get cooking." Connor said. Together, the Penn family started to cook and bake until it was all ready for Thanksgiving. "Alright, guys, it's time to start our family dance tradition." Artha said. The siblings cheered at that. "Hold it! None of you are gonna be dancing in those dirty shoes." Connor said, gesturing to the siblings' dirty shoes.

Connor brought his children to a storage area and brought out a dusty trunk. Erika used her wind powers to blow off the dust. Connor gives Lance a key to the trunk. "Go on, Lance. Open it." He said. As Lance unlocked the trunk with the key, the trunk opens and revealed 12 pairs of dancing shoes. The siblings were amazed to see these shoes. "Daddy, how long have these shoes been in there?" Holly asked. "They've been in there for quite some time. They were a special gift from your late grandparents." Connor said. The 12 Penn siblings were surprised by that and happy that their grandparents left them these shoes as their final gift. Connor gave each of his children a pair of shoes, each matching the colors of their designs. Once they got them, the siblings each put them on and found them fitting. The siblings then started dancing to try them out. Just then, people noticed them and gathered around to watch them dance. The siblings then started bringing the people in to join the dance. Even Kitt, Parmon, Moordryd, Cain, all of their Dragon crew friends, and even the Dragons joined in. As the dancing came to an end, Artha and Kitt wound up in each other's arms. Everyone cheered as they celebrated a wonderful Thanksgiving dance.

Afterwards, the Penn siblings returned to the stables and sat in their shared bedroom. "That was the best Thanksgiving ever." Holly said. Artha looked at his new dancing shoes. "Thank you, Grandma and Grandpa, for everything." He said with a smile of gratitude.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. I hope you like this original chapter I threw together. The Penn family prepare their Thanksgiving tradition known as the Penn Dance. As they dance in the streets of Dragon City, all of the people in the city, including their friends and allies, join in the fun. Even Artha told Beau about his late grandparents who taught him and his siblings how to dance. But what's next for the Penn family? What other traditions do they have? Leave a review if you like.
