Icing the Competition with Inner Rage
Izuku and Weiss are currently in the nursing office of Recovery Girl after their big battle and Izuku's victory over the Schnee girl, the elderly nurse hero gave them both a checkup for a few minutes. Toshinori is also there to check on them too.
"Okay, you two are good to go!" Recovery Girl announced.
"Izuku's body muscles are acting tense from that increase power of more than he should and Weiss is exhausted from the battle and her aura being shattered. You both just need rest your bodies not do anything extreme." Recovery Girl advised.
"Thank you, Recovery Girl." Izuku and Weiss thanked bowing to the old woman.
"I have to say, I didn't expect you to increase the output of the Full Cowling power over five more then your current level. You're saying going for the Plus Ultra." Weiss stated.
"Of course, I have to aim my eyes on the prize like All Might said and I couldn't hold back either even though we're friends." Izuku smiled at Weiss.
"Is that right? Were you putting pressure on him again, All Might?" Recovery Girl asked with a punch on his side.
"It was necessary, and that hurt!" Toshinori proclaimed.
"So, Weiss, that was quite the surprise how you just made an arm appeared out of nowhere like that." Recovery Girl commented.
"Indeed, I didn't think I could do a Summoning." Weiss crossed her arms.
"Summoning? Is that a part of your power?" Izuku asked.
"Yes, unlike most Semblance that people from Remnant are born with deep down, this power is rare that has been shared within my family through generations and Summoning is the strongest application of the Semblance that allows a member of my family to summon foes that they have previously defeated in combat and bring them to fight for their side." Weiss explained.
"Defeated foes? You mean like those Grimm monsters you mentioned?" Toshinori asked.
"Yes, any Grimm we killed; we summon them from our Glyph." Weiss nodded.
"What about people? Can it summon the people that were defeated before?" Izuku asked a bit concern.
"Not that I know of, we only been able to summon Grimms and only that." Weiss answered, and now becoming a little curious about that question.
"Oh yeah, there's something I need to tell you, All Might." Izuku said as the number 1 hero look at him.
"I… I think I saw something, like a vision in the match." Izuku informed.
"Vision, what do you mean by that?" Weiss asked.
"I don't know, it was only for a second or two and gone in an instant, but I can remember what it was." Izuku answered.
"There were people, maybe eight or none of them? I'm not sure." Izuku explained.
"And when did you see this vision?" Weiss asked curiously.
"It was when I decided to go 10% of Full Cowling, it was right then and there I saw the vision." Izuku answered, remembering that moment clearly with every detail.
(Flashback)
Izuku is powering himself up to make himself stronger and go beyond his limits though in that moment, he started to see something odd.
Behind Weiss toward the entrance back inside the stadium where eight shadowy people with glowing golden eyes, and they are all staring right at Izuku for some reason, almost like they know him or something.
"One of the figures had eyes just like yours, All Might." Izuku said.
(Flashback End)
"Do you think all the people who've used One for All in the past were there, pushing me on? Like spirits?" Izuku asked, hoping that his mentor would give him the answer.
"Spooky… I'm a ghost?" Toshinori shocked and his body shaking in fear.
"Huh? I thought you have answers?!" Izuku gasped.
"Will you men focus! I'm sure there is a possible explanation for all of this!" Weiss yelled of this stupid scene.
"Actually, I saw something like that too, in my younger days." Toshinori mentioned.
"And how many users have this One for All been passed down including you two?" Weiss asked.
"I say about nine, the Quirk has been passed down about nine times all the way down to Young Midoriya here. It's also a clear sign that he's getting closer to making One for All his own power." Toshinori answered and believed.
"What was it?" Izuku asked as he wants to hear more.
"I think it's a like a trace of the user's spirit that's left behind in One for All when it's passed on. Don't worry, whatever you saw, it won't be interfering you nor your progress in the future, I'm sure." Toshinori assured.
"Regardless of what you saw, it wasn't what made you grow stronger. It was your own passion and willpower that got you the power to beat Weiss." Toshinori believed.
"He would have definitely gotten more of a victory had my Summoning never happened. Truth be told… that's the one thing I cold never do." Weiss said looking sad.
"Really? You never learn to do it?" Izuku asked.
"Of course, I have! But it's always been so difficult for me every time I had, all the training I had done and study, I still couldn't do a simple summon." Weiss confessed.
"But you did, back at the fight. That must mean you are growing stronger from within as an incredible person!" Izuku believed with his smile.
Weiss suddenly felt her heart racing from the sweet words of this innocent little green bunny boy who has also shown to have a strong growth within, she never felt like this from anyone before nor she did ever gotten some encouraging words aside from her big sister.
"Very well, I suppose this will give me a good motivation to train hard to do that summoning again." Weiss smiled.
"Come, we should head back toward our classmates to watch the other watches. You got to be ready for who you're going to fight next." Weiss said.
"Right!" Izuku realized that now.
"Thank you for the care!" Izuku said to Recovery Girl.
"Your help was very kind." Weiss said as well with a bow.
"You're welcome!" Recovery Girl waved goodbye to the kids until she is just alone with Toshinori in the nurse's office and it was silence for a moment.
"So, he saw you there too." Recovery Girl said.
"That's a good thing." Toshinori said with his eyes shadow, hiding more about the vision Izuku saw back then.
(With Shoto)
Shoto had just left the waiting room 2 and on his way to the fighting ring for his match against Hanta which shouldn't be a problem for him, but the biggest problem he will be facing is Midoriya with that power of his like how he was able to push Schnee back on the urge of defeat.
"(I seem Midoriya had won, but if Weiss wasn't too low on energy to forfeit then maybe she would've won and I would be facing her in the next roud.)" Shoto thought theorized.
"(Although, I'm a bit puzzle about how her body glows and flickers like a lightbulb about to die. Could that have been part of her power being overuse?)" Shoto thought wondered.
But when turns to a corner, his eyes narrow a bit of hatred.
"What do you want?" Shoto demanded the man leaning his back against the wall.
This man is a pro hero, a tall, sturdily built man with a very muscular physique. He has short crimson hair which he wears spiked up around his head and sharp turquoise eyes. His beard and mustache appear to be made of fire. He wears a tight, navy turquoise bodysuit, with lines of flames streaming across his chest, upper torso, arms, and most prominently his shoulders. He uses his flames as a makeshift mask around his eyes, and the tall boots he wears appear to be either made of fire themselves or constantly left alight, as only their soles and laces are visible around the flames. He sports white bracers on his lower arms, styled in a cage pattern, and a blue belt with a pouch attached on either side.
This isn't just any pro hero, this is the Number 2 best hero in all of Japan and right behind All Might who burns down any villains in his sight. The Flame Hero: Endeavor, and the father of Shoto Todoroki.
"You're acting disgracefully, Shoto." Endeavor said.
Shoto didn't want to waste his time talking this fool of a man as he walks away for his match.
"If you simply used the power in your left side, you would've had an overwhelming victory in both of the first rounds." Endeavor believed as Shoto tries to ignore him.
"It's time to stop this childish rebellion of yours. You have a duty to surpass that imbecile All Might. Do you understand what I'm saying?" Endeavor asked.
Shoto gritted his teeth a bit more and the anger within him is raising from hearing more of this nonsense again from his old man.
"You're different from your siblings. You're my greatest masterpiece." Endeavor proclaimed.
"Is that all you have to say to me, your own son, you bastard?" Shoto finally spoke in respond to his anger.
"I'll win this match and advance using only Mom's Quirk. I won't give you the pleasure of seeing me use yours." Shoto determined to crush his father's dream.
Endeavor wasn't fazed from this talkback, he expected this to happen with his youngest son and knew how it will end for Shoto.
"Even if that works for you in this tournament, you'll soon find the limits of that power." Endeavor pointed out.
Shoto didn't care about the limit of using his ice side too much because he is going to prove to that old man who stupid he is.
Suddenly the memories of Weiss scolding him and that hard slap on the face came flooding back into his mind like it only happened a second ago, even remembering the words of how much of a coward he's being.
"(I'm not a coward, you'll see.)" Shoto thought clutched his fists.
(With Izuku and Weiss)
Izuku and Weiss made their way to where Class 1-A with their own special row of seats and just in time too because the next match is about to begin.
"Deku! Weiss! Over there!" Ochaco called out waving her hand.
"Come on, we saved two spots for you both!" Ruby pointed down at the empty chairs next to her and Blake.
Izuku and Weiss went down the row arriving at the empty chairs while they greeted to some of their classmates a little, and Yang pops out right behind Izuku the moment he got his seat and hugs him pressing his head onto her breasts.
"Damn Izuku, you were awesome out there! You broke through the Ice Queen's frozen walls like they were paper!" Yang amazed.
"Oh, y-yeah, thank you very much! Now will you p-please let me g-go!" Izuku begged with his face turning extremely red.
The four fires at the edges of the ring burst up again singling the second battle of the first round is about to start very soon along with two combatants already on the ring.
"Enough standing around." Present Mic shouted.
"Now welcome to the ring, our next players." Present Mic excited with the screen showing Shoto on the left and Hanta on the right.
"He's got skills! But at the expense of some really creepy-looking elbows. From the hero course, it's Hanta Sero!" Present Mic introduced tape boy.
"That was uncalled for." Hanta commented.
"His elbows do look a bit creepy. They almost look like toilet paper." Ruby commented.
"Versus, an early frontrunner in the competition who's way too strong for his own good! Someone who rightfully got into the hero course based on recommendations! It's Shoto Todoroki!" Present Mic introduced.
But Shoto doesn't appear to be his calm and flat face self with his eyes covered in shadows as Weiss notice this the most than anyone.
"And now, for the second match of the finals. Ready?" Present Mic asked with an exciting grin.
"Well, I don't really feel like I can win this fight." Hanta doubted himself as he cracks his neck.
"BEGIN!" Present Mic signaled the start of the match.
Immediately after Present Mic said that, Hanta unleash tapes from both his elbows wrapping them around Shoto's body who is still troubled in mind of the anger toward his father.
"But man, I don't feel like losing either!" Hanta pulled both his arms with all his might dragging Shoto all the way towards the white line.
"That attack could throw his opponent out of bounds! A brilliant, surprise opening from the underdog! Way to start off strong, Sero!" Present Mic complimented.
"Wow, he's actually going to win!" Ruby excited.
"No, he won't." Blake disagreed looking carefully at the battle earning a confuse look from Ruby.
In the next five seconds or so, Blake is gonna be proven right.
"Apologizes." Shoto said.
Shoto stopped himself planting ice under his feet while at the same time sending his wave of ice at right Sero who just started freaking out.
(Nurse's Office)
Suddenly, everything around them started shaking hard and this got the two pro heroes worry.
"Is that… an earthquake?" Recovery Girl asked.
"What the heck is going on?" Toshinori worried, wondering if this is coming from outside in the current match.
(Outside to the Match)
Aizawa has his eyes widen of pure shock while Present Mic is also showing the same expression only with his face pressed right on the glass and his shades slide down from his eyes a little.
Izuku and RWBY and his classmates are leaning back from the sudden tall wall of ice that appeared right in front of them, while the even more of the ice is shown to be bigger than close up to the students and over right above the stadium too.
"Holy Frosty Tsunami!" Yang gasped loud.
Endeavor was a little disappointed that Shoto didn't use his fire again though still a little impress with the power of his ice.
"Huh… Don't you think you went overboard?" Hanta asked shaking of the cold with almost his entire body covered in ice.
Heck, Shoto overused his ice too much that it even went to Midnight with literally half of her right side is frozen.
"Tell the truth, Sero. Can you move at all?" Midnight asked, still trying to do her job.
"Are you kidding? Obviously not. My body is freezing!" Hanta answered shivering of the coldness.
"Sero has been immobilized! Todoroki advances to the second round!" Midnight announced as the entire crowd are shocked that this match ended so fast while some people tried to cheer up Sero by shouting "Nice try" a few times.
"Sorry about that, it was a bit much." Shoto apologized as he walks over to Hanta and starts unfreezing him with the heat of his left side.
"I was angry, is all." Shoto stated.
"Sheesh, I knew the guy was cold as Weiss, but he had to "chunk" the competition in such a "cold" way?" Yang punned surprise.
"Yang, please… just stop." Momo begged softly while Izuku just giggles.
"Whoa, I can't believe Shoto was able to just win the match like that which was totally over kill and did you see how HUGE that ice was?! That could've killed somebody if he wasn't careful." Ruby pointed out and freaking out a little bit.
"Yeah, we saw and I almost wet myself. I'll be in the bathroom." Denki hurried away to the bathroom.
"You should get to the waiting room and get ready for your match, you are going to be facing the lightning idiot soon." Kyoka reminded the red hooded girl.
"You're right! I'll worry about being frozen to death after I kick Denki's electric booty to the electric store!" Ruby decided to focus on that and head over to the waiting room.
"Be careful with the lightning, you'll have to find a way to avoid it." Izuku advised.
"Thanks, and I'll certainly try." Ruby smiled back before appearing from sight.
"Hey, you saw something off when Shoto was using his ice. He was angry, but not at Hanta directly." Yang said, wondering about that.
"I did, and I also notice he looked sad when using his fire to melt the ice." Izuku mentioned.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
Just when you think Shoto couldn't give you anymore reasons to fear him and his cold side, Hanta certainly learned that lesson the hard way, all from that one little talk with his father still claiming that he won't use his fire side. But that may change when he goes up against Izuku.
KO comment, favorite, and follow through of how this story will go!
