Chapter 1: Devil in a Mask (2/5)
Fox Boy:
Sometimes...
You can cry until there's nothing wet in you.
You can scream and curse to where your throat rebels and ruptures.
You can pray, all you want, to whatever god you think will listen.
And, still, it makes no difference.
It goes on, with no sign as to when it might release you.
And you know that if it ever did relent...
It would not be because it cared.
Fox Boy was reciting the words inside his head that he heard someone say. He doesn't remember who said it, but he remembers everything.
It was quite a strange thing to think about it on the situation that he was in at the moment. He was currently doing his best to not be spotted by two girls that entered the location that he was in.
"Keep your eyes open, those things outside didn't kill each other." The girl with auburn hair spoke as she pointed her handgun around.
"You should probably speak louder, because I don't think Jessie and the others heard you from their position. " The girl with black hair replied sarcastically.
The two girls started to move around slowly with their handguns prepared. Fox Boy remained crouched, doing his best to stay out of sight. If that man is dead, things just got much more complicated. Fox Boy thought as he moved around quietly due to girls approaching where he was hidden. He walks around hiding behind the shelves, trying to get as close as he can to the exit.
"Someone chopped those guys outside, and I don't think it was one of ours." He heard the girl with black hair point out.
"And they were still bleeding," The girl with auburn hair also pointed out.
Dammit, if I kill them, they're absence will be noticed. If I leave them be, they gonna suspect. Fox Boy thought, trying to decide what to do.
Luckily, they get far enough from the entrance. Which allows Fox Boy to make his way to it.I better get out here. He decided to leave them. Moving as quietly as he can, he moved towards the exit.
He passed through the door with no trouble and made his way to the street where he killed the three infected. I gotta find a place to stay put until the others arrive. Fox Boy thought as he made his way to the end of the street in order to get away from the two girls.
He walked, he did nothing but walk. With several things on his mind. Like, what exactly is he gonna do. The invasion will occur in a few days, but what exactly is he supposed to do until then.
There was a blocked path, that he decided to pass through. It was probably a bad sign, but turning back was not an option.
He received orders to come along with this small group of unknowns in order to prepare the grounds for the invasion. But everything couldn't have gone anymore wrong. Two died by getting ambushed by infected. Three died because of a fight over a bottle of Vodka. Then that man that ordered him to find a new outpost got himself killed.
Now, it's just Fox Boy. Who couldn't understand why he was the one to be sent. Why the supreme leader picked me for this mission? Ghost Head could have killed several of the town's combatants by now. Jester could have sabotaged the place, created traps , set bombs and a lot of other things. Venus could have sneak inside without being noticed and killed their leader or leaders unnoticed. Reaper could have done all of that even before the rest could get here. Fox Boy just kept thinking of scenarios of what would have happened if the supreme leader sent someone else on this mission. Passing through a buildings and houses, Fox Boy had no idea where to go. As he knows absolutely nothing of this region. Without a map or someone that knows the place, it becomes quite difficult to navigate. That man had a map, but he wouldn't let me have it. Now it's lost. Fox Boy thought in annoyance.
Suddenly, Fox Boy stopped walking a looked at the sky for a bit. Wondering about something. Why don't I just lay here and freeze to death. He sincerely considered that. I just keep waiting for something or someone to kill me already. I mean, I'm tired... really tired... tired of being Fox Boy. He sat on the ground to contemplate the idea. How old am I now? What does my face look like now? Why did the Normandies made me part of the masked ones? Fox Boy thought about those questions from time to time, but he could never find answer to any of them.
Looking down the snow, he decided to drawn something with his fingers. He drew sad face on the snow, which was what he was feeling. "Are you sad?" He asked the drawing that he made.
"Yes..." Fox Boy pretended to be his drawing replying with a cartoonish voice.
"Do you love me?" Fox Boy asked.
"No..."
"Oh, why not?"
"Because no one loves you..."
"Well, Reaper kind of loves me."
"If that is love, I don't want to see what happens when he hates you..."
"It's something."
"That makes you wanna cry when he's done..."
"Just when it hurts too much."
"Which is always..."
"I guess."
Fox Boy then looks up again and noticed that it was about to get dark. "I have to find a place to stay for the night, thanks for the talk." He told his drawing.
"Bye..."
Fox Boy then started to walk again. Until he noticed a strange sign.
Ellie and Joel:
"You sure he came this way?"
While Ellie and Dina were investigating an area where they found three dead runners. Joel and Tommy showed up out of nowhere and told them that they found a man staying on a house not far from there. Apparently, Joel shoot the man but there was someone else with him. Which Joel quickly concluded that it was the one that killed those runners.
"I saw some footprints." Joel explained. "I'm certain he came this way."
"Why did you sent Dina and Tommy to warn the others?" Ellie asked in confusion.
"Because the guy on the house said some disturbing things and this Fox Boy may know what is going on." Joel told her.
They both gallop their horses into the direction of the trail left by whoever Fox Boy is.
"What do you mean by disturbing things?" Ellie asked.
"He said something about an army that took over several regions of the U.S." Joel answered. "And something about bothering with this stupid town, which I'm pretty sure that he was talking about Jackson."
Ellie widened her eyes at that. "Wait? Do you think this army is going to attack Jackson?"
"I don't know." Joel replied. "Which is why we need find this Fox Boy."
"Why the hell is he called Fox Boy?" Ellie asked as she thought the name was stupid. "Does he look like fox or something?"
"How should I know?" Joel replied. "It's probably just some dumb nickname."
Both Ellie and Joel galloped a bit more, until they were forced to stop due to the path being blocked. "We'll have to go on foot from here." Joel told her. "Tommy and I blocked this path with the help of some others."
The path was blocked by several cars that they managed to push to block the path.
"When did you guys do that?" Ellie asked.
"Five days after you got sick." Joel explained. "People wouldn't be able to pass through with horses."
"It's now a bit of inconvenience to us." Ellie commented.
"Yeah..."
Beyond the path, leads to old factory. Which Ellie didn't really know the kind. Dina said that it was a chocolate one but Jessie was sure that it was a shoe factory.
Ellie and Joel had to leave the horses behind in order to cross the blocked path, due to the trail leading this way.
"This was a bad idea." Ellie commented as it was starting to get dark and it seems that a blizzard was starting to develop.
"We won't reach the horses back in time, we have to find some shelter." Joel pointed out.
Both walked for a bit, following the trail left by the one called Fox Boy. But before they knew it, it got dark and a blizzard started to develop. So they need to find shelter quickly.
"Look!" Ellie pointed at something.
Joel gazed at the direction and saw the building from afar. "It's the factory..." Joel looked around. "It's the only place with the structure intact, we have to get there."
Ellie just nooded as they started to run towards the factory. The blizzard was getting worse as they did, which confirmed that it was going to be a strong one.
Luckily for them, both managed to reach the entrance. Joel opens the door and signals for Ellie to enter, which did. Joel did the same and closed the door behind them.
Joel sighed a bit. "Damn,"
"Shit, talk about worst timing." Ellie joked about the situation.
Joel opened his mouth to say something, but before he could do it. He heard a sound.
Ellie quickly looked behind her as she also heard. But it wasn't the sound of infected , it was music. She looked at Joel confused, which was mutual as Joel also was. It sounded like an harmonica, but different.
Joel then pulled out his handgun and passed through Ellie to check.
Ellie did the same and stood behind him with her gun ready.
As they got passed the entrance room, they went into the main area of the factory, which was a very large area with several rusted machines. But one thing that called their attention, was the infected they saw.
There were more than ten dead infected on the ground. All of them seemed to have chopped by something.
Joel and Ellie walk through the area, following the music that was playing.
Suddenly, Joel signaled Ellie to stop. Ellie looked passed him and saw someone sitting there.
There was a lantern in front of him and a sword besides it. The person they saw had his body completely covered. He was wearing a caramel duffle coat with the hood up, dark gray cargo pants, black combat boots and a red school backpack. He was playing a strange instrument, which Joel reconized as a Melodica.
But what really out the most about the individual, was his mask. It was slightly lift up to expose his mouth, but they couldn't see his face completely. The lower part of his face was smooth, with absolutely no hair on his jaw or chin. The Mask that he was wearing, was white with some details in red.
Ellie actually reconized the mask from a comic book that Dina landed her once. It was kitsune mask, if she wasn't mistaking.
"Joel, I think he's Fox Boy." She whispered on his ear.
Joel nodded as he already figured that out. He was currently planning on how to incapacitate him without killing him.
Fox Boy:
Fox Boy just sits there, playing somewhat sad song on his melodica. Pretending that he doesn't know that there's someone watching him. The entrance door makes a lot of noise, which was what attracted the infected and what warned me of their presence. Very convenient. Fox Boy thought as he finished his song.

Questions and Answers:
Okay well hope Fox boy isn't much younger than Ellie
Also saw in the new stories a persona and witcher idea honestly can't wait for those
Freaking love both series don't get me wrong Persona wise I've only been a fan since 3 and my understanding of 1 and 2 is very limited but seeing the Oc replace the Mac for those games as a wild card would be epic
Especially if you have it so the Oc keeps his power so when he gets involved with the group of persona users from number four while they are all level 1 at the start he's level 99 and love that it's a harem pairing
Witcher wise pretty interesting way to have the Oc come about and aside from Ciri hope we see him paired with most of the ladies from the lodge bar Yen due to her and Geralt being a thing I'm assuming so Triss, Keira, Fringilla, Francesca etc etc and also the likes of Anna Henrietta, Sylvia, Meve, Cerys, Saskia, Adda, Cynthia etc
Again hope the Oc is quite powerful like if he has standard witcher abilities well to make a Warhammer comparison which I hope you get if the normal witcher is a space marine then the Oc is a custodes and magic wise hope there's no one more powerful either
Not much, don't worry.
Each storyline of each Persona will take place on a single year after the other and the MC will start as a pre-teen until his late teens.
The Witcher Oc would be a bit of a womanizer like Geralt, but his true love is Ciri. He's basically has Geralt's abilities but Yennefer magic. (He will also carry an modified Musket that he got from Ortolan.) Though he doesn't follow The Witcher's code of Neutrality.
I'm not a fan of the second one but you are doing a great job with this story.
I'm also not a fan.
Half of it was a generic revenge story with Ellie being completely unrecognizable from the first game.
The other half is spend trying to manipulate the player into sympathizing with Joel's killer, Abby (Who's an extremely unlikable character.) While she goes through an undeserving redemption arc where she saves some random Transgender kid out if a hypocritical sense of guilt.
In a narrative filled with: Plot holes, retcons, horrendous pacing, underdeveloped characters, and a very anti-climatic ending.
BUT... there were a few elements that I genuinely liked (Like the conflict between the W.L.F and the Seraphites, which I was way more invested in rather than Abby's undeserving redemption arc.)
So, I'm picking what I liked about TLOU2 and making my own take on the story with my own original character.
