Welcome to the next chapter of RWBY: Team DUSK, before starting the story. Let's answer some reviews:

Claire excalibur: Thanks, I'll ensure that it will be as interesting as possible. I hope that you love both his weapon and semblance. I thought that it would be obvious for people to guess who he alludes from more so if those people know about Greek stories and the Fate series, especially since their names sound alike. I don't think that most people have heard about all his students since Achilles and Perseus are the most renowned students in legends.

TorrhenWintry: And that is correct! While thinking about Hunter's character, there were just too many things that matched up Actaeon after looking him up. Well, I'm sure if you examine it enough.

Welcome to Beacon

After waking up the next morning, Daniel found himself reluctantly getting up from out of the soft bed and getting himself prepared. He got dressed in his main outfit before he departed downstairs, where he was informed by the male receptionist that Weiss left a little earlier. 'I can't tell whether being this prompt was drilled into Weiss by her father or sister', that was his thought as he signed a consent form to have his belongings shipped to Beacon after returning the key.

This would let the students send their belongings to Beacon so that they wouldn't need to be concerned about the potential of being lost; while those who failed the initiation would be able to pick them up. Although, failing wasn't something that Daniel planned on doing. Once his business at the hotel was finished and after hearing the hotel's receptionist gave him a final adieu, which he felt was a little bit excessive.

Having left from inside the hotel, Daniel had started walking towards where the location where the larger airships would be picking up all the students and taking them to Beacon. Upon boarding the airship, he found two familiar teens in front of him which were both Pyrrha and Hunter, the latter glanced toward him and waved.

"Hello, Daniel. Did you get enough sleep last night?"

"Yes, mom. I also brushed my teeth and washed my face before leaving."

Daniel joked causing Pyrrha and even Hunter to share the same laugh about that joke, although the latter hadn't shown it at all. It didn't take long for all the students to board the airships, which then took off toward their chosen destination causing anticipation in the students. All of them started outside of the airship as a picturesque display was shown in front of their eyes as a beautiful wide cliff side as streams of water poured down leading to a large body of water; this cliffside was where Beacon Academy was situated.

"Wow, this place sure is amazing isn't it, Hunter," Pyrrha said mesmerized about the sight as Hunter appeared to sign 'It sure is'. "What do you think, Daniel?"

"Well, it sure does deserve its reputation as one of the most prestigious most schools."

All the other students shared the same opinion as them as most couldn't take their eyes off the building in front of them. Soon enough, their attention was caught toward a 2D holographic screen that appeared near them airing an important news report which depicted the mugshot of a smirking ginger-haired man dressed in a white suit with small wounds as if he was in a minor scuffle.

{The robbery was led by nefarious criminal Roman Torchwick, who continues to evade authorities. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Vale Police Department. Back to you, Lisa.}

A male reporter informed catching the attention of the students who seemed surprised.

"A robbery?"

Pyrrha questioned tilting her head slightly.

"I think that it has something to do with the attempted robbery of a dust shop called From Dust Till Dawn," Daniel informed her. "It was a place that I walked past going toward the restaurant, but I couldn't get any information about what happened exactly."

Amid their short conversation, a woman with light purple hair dressed in proper business attire wearing a serious look on her face appeared on the screen.

{Thank you, Cyril.} Lisa had started as an image of various angry yet determined Faunus carrying signs, which read: WE ARE NOT ANIMALS on them. {In other news, this Saturday's Faunus Civil Rights protest turned dark when members of the White Fang disrupted the ceremony. The once peaceful organization has now disrupted…}

Daniel's attention was caught toward the image of a growling red wolf's head with three scratch marks through it but was soon turned off. Soon enough, the hologram of a beautiful spectated blonde-haired woman with a buxom figure to match and green eyes; appearing almost like a curvaceous librarian. All the students wondered who the woman was, she started walking forward before speaking.

"Hello, and welcome to Beacon," she started. "My name is Glynda Goodwitch. You are all among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy. Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, you must uphold it. You've already demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world."

Glynda informed all the potential students who stared and listened to the words that came from her mouth before her holographic projection vanished from sight. Once her visage vanished, the students once again looked out to see that they were reaching closer and close to Beacon Academy, their new home for the next four years. There in this prestigious school, their dreams will be fulfilled through passing whatever test was in front of them or their dreams would be shattered if they failed.

It took a couple of short minutes for them to land at one of the circular aerial docking bays built around the school allowing the students onboard to exit the airship. Right away most of the students started looking around the first area in front of them, which was near the entrance leading into the Huntsman Academy.

"We're finally here, Hunter."

Pyrrha said sounding as if she were a child about to fulfill her longtime desire as Hunter stood near her wearing a similar expression on his face.

Daniel who stood next to them could tell once again just how close both of them were to one another as it seems as if they were fully aware of one another's desires in life. All three of them soon joined the crowd of people who were walking in the direction where all the other students would be gathered, which was the auditorium. Although Daniel soon broke off from the other students before turning back toward Pyrrha and Hunter.

"I'll meet you two inside of the auditorium. I want to take a look around for a little bit."

"Alright, we'll save you a spot."

Pyrrha replied as she watched him heading in the direction of Beacon's front entrance while she and Hunter went in the same as the other students.

Wanting to get a better look at the front of the school building, Daniel started to walk toward one of the other bays where the airships landed. As he slowly walked, he relished the fresh atmosphere and structures around him in this location.

"Well, it looks like this will be a peaceful…."

Before those words left his mouth, Daniel heard what appeared to be an explosion was loud enough to where he could hear it. His attention was caught toward the direction of the sound which was at a distance from him and he could've sworn that he saw flames, lightning, and ice.

"…school year."

Both concerned and curious about what just happened, Daniel started to head toward that particular direction but it couldn't have been an attack in front of the school during their admission.

Meanwhile, inside of the large auditorium where all the students would be gathered, there was a certain group of students who appeared almost close to one another. Among one of the groups was a blonde who was gathered around her friends from her previous combat school.

"Yang, I think that it was kinda wrong that you left behind your sister like that."

A shorter blonde-haired woman said as she stood next to a long blonde-haired woman.

Said girl was a beautiful fair-skinned seventeen-year-old with long blonde golden hair that has a cowlick and lilac eyes; she also had an impressive bust and build.

Her clothing consists of a tanned jacket that reveals her midriff, a low-cut yellow crop top shirt with her emblem, a burning heart in black on her left breast; an orange infinity scarf, a brown belt that reaches around the back of her wist, her emblem adorned on the right in gold, underneath is a white asymmetrical material that reaches her right knee and a pair of black short shorts; brown knee-high boots, orange over knee socks (the right one being pushed down below it), a gray bandanna tied around her left knee.

There were also a pair of gold bracelets around both her wrists.

"She'll be fine, Alyssa," Yang said in a nonchalant tone as she turned toward the second blonde. "I just want her to be able to make some new friends on her own since we'll be here for four years. I'd be kinda bad that I'd be the only one she socialized with. Y'know, kinda like a how the mother bird pushes their children out of the nests to teach them how to fly?"

"Well, Ruby isn't a bird," Alyssa pointed out before continuing. "But, I can understand that. Though, you have to remember that Ruby wasn't the most social person at Signal."

Alyssa said in a tone that sounded more serious different from Yang.

She had the same fair skin, but her blonde hair reached past her shoulders with emerald green eyes; her build was much more toned than normal but was a bit leaner.

Her clothes consist of a darkish blue vest that has a mixture of gold linings, her emblem which depicts a winged dragon curled as if asleep on the lower right side, a white short-sleeved dress shirt, black fingerless clothes, blue jeans, and a pair of fingerless gloves. The most notable thing was a black belt wrapped around her waist that has two thick white and gold baton-like weapons, which appeared at the moment inactive.

"Ruby had some friends back at Signal, but neither of them can come to Beacon since she entered two years earlier than them. That's why I want her to make some new friends here at Beacon."

Yang stated as she glanced toward her friend wearing her usual cheery smile, causing Alyssa to agree with her friends and nod. She could see that there was nothing but good intentions behind her reasoning, wanting her little sister to become more open to other people.

"I can understand that. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?"

"Exactly."

"I think the explosion came from somewhere around here."

Meanwhile, in front of the entrance leading into Beacon, Daniel witnessed the epicenter of an explosion but there wasn't anyone around the general area aside from two people. It hadn't taken him all that long to get there, so all of it must've ended in a couple of seconds or at least minutes because there wasn't a group of people gathered to see what happened. Although, from this distance, he could see that there was a blonde-haired young man who seemed his age and a black-haired girl who seemed a little younger.

"I wonder if either of them knows what happened."

Daniel wondered out loud as he walked toward them at a brisk pace, while the two of them seemed to be talking to one another.

"Excuse me," he stopped walking, arriving close enough to were talking to them would be more comfortable. "Do either of you know what exploded here?"

"Oh, hey," the blonde replied causing Daniel to believe that he was going to answer his question. "Do you believe that motion sickness is a common thing?"

His clothes consist of a black short-sleeved hoodie, blue jeans, and black sneakers; worn over his black hoodie is a white diamond-shaped chest plate in addition to white spaulders and rerebraces underneath them. He has a pair of belts crisscrossing his waist with a pair of small pouches on them, brown gloves that expose his fingertips, and a sword strapped to his hip in a sheath.

"I'm sorry, what?"

In response to Daniel's confusion about the blonde's sudden question since it had almost—no, absolutely nothing to do with his question. The black-haired girl next to him started to laugh as her 'friend' mentioned that to someone who wouldn't understand the reason behind the question.

"Well, there some people who aren't used to traveling by air or sea, I guess," Daniel replied to his question much to the blonde's happiness. "So, about the explosion that happened a little while ago."

"U-Uh, that was kinda…my fault."

Daniel turned to the fair-skinned black-haired girl whose shoulder-length hair had red fringes and silver eyes.

Her clothing consisted of a black long-sleeved dress that has a high collar and red trims on the sleeves, a black cincher with red lacing; her combat skirt had red trims and linings, black stockings, and combat boots that have red laces and trims around the top and soles. Completing the outfit was a red hooded cloak fastened around her both her shoulders, a wide black belt slung around her hips on an angle that has a large silver buckle with her emblem depicting a scattered rose; a pouch and a row of bullets attacked to it.

What caught Daniel's attention the most was the fact that there was someone else who had silver eyes similar to his outside his family.

"Your eyes are silver."

"Uh…so, are yours."

She was also a little surprised seeing someone else with silver eyes like hers which caused them to lock eyes on one another for a bit before the blonde waved at both of them.

"So, about the explosion?"

"Oh, right," she said feeling a little anxious about staring at someone she hadn't met before and started to explain what happened. "Well, after my older sister abandoned me to meet up with her friends. I ended up tripping over a girl's luggage, then she started yelling at me while shaking this leaking dust vial in her hands. After that, I sneezed then it all went…well, boom."

She explained in an almost energetic and excessive manner, which he couldn't help but find almost cute.

"Well, that explained what happened. I thought that there was some attack, but I guess that it was nothing but it was an accident," Daniel said as he scratched his cheek a bit before reaching his hand toward the girl. "By the way, my name is Daniel Norden."

"My name is Ruby Rose," Ruby introduced herself causing a smile to creep on her face as she appeared to have made another friend. "Norden? I feel like I've heard that name before."

"Uh, well, you probably have."

Daniel said laughing a little bit wondering if he should answer her confusion, but the blonde stepped up holding out his hand in a confident manner.

"Well, the name's Jaune Arc! Short, sweet, rolls off the tongue…ladies love it!"

Ruby and Daniel couldn't help but crack into a slight chuckle due to how confident that he declared that in front of two people that he just met moments ago.

"Do they?"

In response to that skeptical question from Ruby, Jaune's former confidence started breaking down a little bit as he started sputtering around nervously almost like someone who's been caught.

"They will! Well, I-I hope they will. My mom always says that…. Never mind."

"You don't have to try so hard to impress people. And this might sound a little bit cliché but just be yourself and I think that you'll be surprised about the number of people who would like the real you."

Daniel said in an attempt to help him recover from that, which caused Jaune to glance toward him.

"Really?"

"Really."

The older black-haired teen answered in a tone that displayed nothing but honesty, which caused Jaune to feel a little bit better after his previous reaction. Daniel was unable to find a single reason not to like Jaune since he seemed like a very likable person if not a little bit goofy.

After that, the three of them started walking forward aimlessly in silence, neither appearing to be able to think of a single thing to talk about. In this silence, the lone girl stepped forward as if attempting to break the silence, while she also appeared almost a little excited.

"So…. I got this thing!"

Ruby explained as she reached underneath her red cloak in the back, then pulled out what seemed to be a rose-red weapon that seemed to be compacted into a portable form. However, it didn't remain compact like that for much longer as it opened, undergoing various quick shifts before turning into a large mechanical red scythe that also had black trims added onto it and was stabbed into the ground.

Jaune jumped after seeing such a thing in front of him, while Daniel whistled appearing impressed about the level of craftsmanship behind it.

"Whoa! Is that a scythe?"

"It's also a customizable high-impact sniper rifle!"

"A-wha…?"

"It's also a gun," Ruby said sincerely smiled making a point to even cock the bolt, displaying its additional sniper capabilities. "A wonderful child of mine named Crescent Rose."

"It is an impressive weapon. I'm not trying to sound rude, but I think that a girl or your particular stature would be able to wield a massive scythe such as this without extra training at least," Daniel openly said and was surprised about her specific weapon of choice. "However, I guess that shows the amount of effect that you put into getting in Beacon despite your age."

"Um, yea. I should have entered Beacon after more training back at Signal for two years, but due to some unique circumstances," she said thinking about the previous talk that she had with her sister before departing off of the airship about making friends. Although she was nervous about doing that, she felt confident talking to Daniel and Jaune who seemed easier to talk to. "But, since I'm here now. I want to give it my all to fulfill my dream of being the greatest Huntress that I can be."

After hearing those words, Daniel felt a sense of nostalgia causing a sincere smile to appear on his face, then the next person to show off their weapon was Jaune who reached for his sword's hilt.

"Oh! I, uh…. I got this sword."

"Ooooohh!"

Ruby said interested in Jaune's weapon of choice with Daniel wondering if there was something more to it.

"Yeah, and I've got a shield, too!"

Through some unknown mechanisms, the sheath expanded into a shield that has an emblem, depicting a yellow two-lined rainbow. Although, on the sword, some scratches were showing that there were both some nicks and scratches on the blade.

"So, what do they do?"

As if out of some childish curiosity, Ruby touched the shield thinking that there was something else that it can do, but the moment that she did; the shield turned back into a sheath causing Jaune to look his grip on it.

"Well, you see the shield gets smaller…," Jaune replied as he began fumbling around with the sheath as it began to switch back and forth from shield and sheath form in an almost comedic scene before finally catching it again while as a sheath. "…so when I get tired of carrying it…I can just…put it away…."

"But, wouldn't it weigh the same?"

"Yeah, it does…."

Having answered that question from Ruby, Jaune felt a little dejected after realizing the difference between their weapons which Daniel noticed.

"Well, you don't have to look so depressed, everyone has their preference about what weapons they wield in combat," Daniel noted as he turned toward Jaune. "Sometimes, it's not about who has the best weapon, but it's a lot more about how you use it with your aura and semblance. Besides, if there are some things that you want to add to your sword and shield, then you can make some upgrades to them. Since we're up against the Grimm and other threats there might come a time when you need to add some more additions."

"Daniel's right. I think that it's always fun to come up with different modifications for your weapons," Ruby added in an ecstatic tone agreeing with the words of encouragement from Daniel. "I'm kind of a dork when it comes to weapons, sooo…I guess I did go a little overboard when designing it."

"Wait, you made that?!"

Daniel felt that question was a little bit odd since it was common knowledge that students from combat schools at times designed their weapons. Although, Ruby not thinking that there was anything odd about that continued conversing normally.

"Of course! All students at Signal forge their weapons! Didn't you make yours?"

"It's a hand-me-down," Jaune replied as he looked at his sword and sheath. "My great-great-grandfather used it to fight in the war. I think that it was named Crocea Mors."

"Sounds more like a family heirloom to me," Ruby laughed a little bit before continuing. "Well, I like it! Not many people have an appreciation for the classics these days."

"Yeah, the classics…."

Jaune said feeling a little more confident about his choice of weapon, but then Ruby started to look toward the one person who didn't say what their weapon was. As if attempting to look more innocent, she locked her hands together behind her back as she walked toward Daniel and even started whistling.

"Ruby," Daniel said rolling his eyes amused about the actions of the younger silver-eyed girl who stood in front of him. "You want to see what my weapons are, don't you?"

"Yes please!"

Daniel laughed after hearing her energetic response then he reached his hand toward his right hip and pulled out his custom-made pistol, which he showed them.

She beamed after seeing it for herself, a semi-automatic white and silver combat pistol (a highly modified SIG Sauer P226), which had runes engraved on the barrel; noticing all the detail that he put into the pistol.

"My second partner, this girl here is Vanir," Daniel said as he smirked after marveling at his partner. "The person I lived with trained me to wield firearms in a fight. I had designed Vanir so that she can use either normal and dust rounds based on the situation."

"She looks beautiful. Is that all? Because you said weapons."

Ruby questioned Daniel finding it adorable how she was getting all gung-ho about weapons.

"Nope, because here comes my first and most beloved partner," Daniel answered as he twirled Vanir around his finger before holstering it then reached toward his second partner that was attached to a magnetic strip which was added behind his belt and inactive. "The best partner that a huntsman like me could ask for."

He revealed what appeared to be a large sapphire single-edged two-handed mechanical sword that has both black and silver trims, in addition to runes inscribed along half the blade. Though, Ruby noted that the blade itself was tipless to the point of it being flattened with what appeared to be a gun barrel fixed in the blade; there wasn't the common guard instead there was a kind of mechanism in addition to a trigger and trigger guard. Ruby beamed at the incredible attention to detail that Daniel put into crafting both Retribution and Vanir.

"This is Retribution," Daniel presented as he held out his beloved partner before adjusting his grip on the sword's hilt as if he was holding onto a gun with his index finger on the trigger. "It also doubles as a shotgun."

"Wow! That is so cool!"

All three of them stood there for a short minute before Ruby came to a realization, then glanced towards Daniel and Jaune wearing a sheepish smile.

"Hey, where are we going?"

Ruby questioned recalling that the three of them were supposed to be meeting inside Beacon along with all of the other students planning on attending.

"Oh, I don't know! I was following you."

Jaune replied.

"I thought that we were just walking and talking."

Daniel added.

Having heard one another's responses and even glancing towards one another, all three of them began laughing among themselves.

It didn't take them long to find the Beacon's giant amphitheater, where all the students would be gathered inside, mostly due to Daniel following the direction that he saw the others going. And inside of the amphitheater all of the students who arrived using the airships were gathered, which was filled with the conjoined chatter among them.

"Ruby! Over here! I saved you a spot!"

A sudden voice called out to Ruby, following the source Daniel and Jaune, the latter guessed that it was her older sister, but couldn't see any notable facial similarities.

"Oh! Hey, I-I gotta go! I'll see you after the ceremony!"

Ruby said waving toward both Daniel and Jaune.

"Hey, wait," Jaune called out to Ruby but she was already gone. "Ah, great. Where am I supposed to find another nice, quirky girl to talk to?!"

"Hey, Pyrrha."

And with perfect timing, Daniel turned around to see Pyrrha and Hunter glancing toward him, the latter waved his hand in his direction. As previously agreed moments before their arrival, the former Mistral residents saved them a spot inside of the amphitheater.

"Jaune, do you want to come and meet some friends I made during my trip to Beacon?"

"Uh, sure. That beats being by myself."

After Jaune agreed to that, both he and Daniel walked near the pair with Pyrrha staring at the blonde-haired boy.

"Hello, Daniel, who is this?"

"This is…."

"Hello, my name is Jaune Arc."

Jaune spoke in a similar confident manner, which he previously used speaking over Daniel who stared at him with a crooked smile having been interrupted. After noticing that expression on his face Pyrrha started to give a slightly amused laugh then she turned toward Jaune who was still putting up a confident facade.

"Hello, Jaune. My name is Pyrrha Nikos. And this is a friend of mine from Sanctum, Hunter Upson."

In response to hearing his name called Hunter held up his hand as a greeting since Jaune to his knowledge was incapable of understanding sign language.

"So, how did you meet up with Daniel?"

"Well, we kinda met each other in front of the school," Jaune replied causing Daniel to nod his head. "Well, both he and another girl over there with her sister helped me become more confident in my weapon of choice. And I would like to think that we're friends now, right?"

"Not that I'm against that, but why? You just met me and Ruby a couple of minutes ago."

"Eh, why not? My mom always says, 'Strangers are just friends you haven't met yet'."

After hearing that from him caused Pyrrha to smile at his acceptance toward people despite not knowing them for all that long.

"I think that those are amazing words to live by. Your mother sounds like a smart woman."

"Right?!"

Jaune said nodding his head with a genuine smile.

"You!"

Daniel heard a familiar voice coming from the same direction where he and Jaune separated from Ruby who had departed to meet up with her sister. Said black-haired girl was cradled inside the arms of her older sister plainly showing fear toward the white-haired young woman who appeared behind her.

A beautiful pale-skinned young woman with long white hair positioned in an off-centered ponytail on the right side pinned by using a silver icicle-shaped tiara, light blue eyes with a scar that ran down both the left side of her face and her left eye.

Dressed in a thigh-length strapless white dress that has hints of pale blue at the hem, a small black lace piece that sits in front of her neckline and hem that resembles snowflakes and layers of tulle under the skirt completed with heels; in addition to a bell-sleeved bolero matching the color of her dress from shoulders to wrist lined in red with a ruffled collar with her emblem on it; a small apple pendant on a silver chain, a pair of thin rectangular silver earrings, and a white sash tied around her waist with a pouch.

Sheathed at her side was a silver-gray rapier, which seemed to have four prongs on the hilt, encased in what seemed to be a revolving chamber.

"What kind of coincidence is this? So, the girl that Ruby ran into was Weiss," Daniel wondered staring at the white and black-haired girls talking or more like bickering with one another (at least on Weiss' end). "If I keep putting this off, then it'll appear that I'm avoiding her. Hey, do you three mind if we got in a little closer to the stage?"

"Sure, I think that it would be best that we're close enough to get every little bit of information."

Pyrrha agreed thinking that was his reason, which caused Daniel to laugh a little at how quick she was to agree to some things. From how close to the group of three women, he was able to hear that Weiss was reading the full Schnee Dust Company's policies word for word. As their conversation continued, Daniel could fully hear it and it had something to do with Ruby attempting to befriend her after being urged by her sister.

"Hello, Weiss! I'm Ruby. Wanna hang out? We can go shopping for school supplies."

"Yeah," Weiss said in an apparent enthusiastic manner. "And we can paint our nails and try on clothes and talk about cute boys, like tall, blonde, and scraggly over there."

Weiss must've caught sight of Jaune in her peripheral vision seconds before since Daniel just stepped in front of him moments before she said that.

"I never thought that I'd hear you calling me cute and tall, Weiss," he said in a joking manner causing the white to stop berating Ruby to turn towards the voice. "Blonde? Scraggly? Well, I never thought about dying my hair since I love my black hair and I'd like to think that I take good care of my hair."

"D-Dani…," there was a slight moment where her expression faulted into one that seemed almost happy after seeing him before it switched to her original tone. "Hello, Daniel. It's a pleasure to see you again."

"Geez, I didn't expect that kinda dry greeting. I was expecting something a little happier."

His teasing caused a slight reaction from the white-haired heiress who crossed her arms and glanced in another direction appearing almost embarrassed. Both Ruby and Yang titled their heads to the side after noticing the girl who went from acting all high and mighty to acting like any other normal girl. But, Yang could come up with a guess about Weiss' sudden change in demeanor.

"Does she have a crush on him?"

Yang mumbled to herself, but it was loud enough for Ruby to hear her.

"What'd you say, Yang?"

Ruby's question went unanswered as there was a notable sound that reached their ears, which was caused by someone tapping the microphone as a test.

All the students turned their attention towards the stage where stood a middle-aged spectacled man with tousled silver hair and thin brown eyes; dressed in an unzipped black suit worn over a dark green buttoned vest and shirt in addition to long dark green pants and shoes.

He was the renowned headmaster of Beacon Academy, Ozpin.

In his hands was a long unique-looking cane that appeared to be used as a walking stick and was joined by Glynda who stood next to him.

"I'll keep this brief," Ozpin started his speech causing their attention. "You have traveled here today in search of knowledge to hone your craft and acquire newer skills. And when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your lives to the protection of the people. But, when I look among you, all I see is wasted energy in need of purpose and direction."

His more or less cold words sparked and immediate reaction from all the students who started to whisper among themselves. Among the group of Huntsmen-in-Training that gathered, Yang and Weiss appeared to narrow their eyes out of either annoyance or confusion. Ruby and Pyrrha seemed to continue listening, while Ozpin's seemed to cause Hunter and Jaune to appear almost nervous.

"You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step."

Some students thought that would be more, but that all, Ozpin turned from the microphone then started walking off the stage without saying a single word. Glynda, who appeared to be his aide took his spot in front of the microphone as she started speaking to the students.

"You will gather in the ballroom tonight," Glynda started in the same serious tone as before. "Tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be prepared. You are dismissed."

Hearing those words, the conversations between the students got to be a bit louder as a lot of them appeared to be talking about the speech.

"Well, those weren't the most…motivational words that I've ever heard in my life."

Daniel said believing that a headmaster would give a more motivational speech to the Huntsmen-in-Training who were looking forward to entering their school.

"He seemed kind of…off."

"It's almost like he wasn't even there."

Both Yang and Ruby appeared to have shared the same opinion.

"I'm a natural blonde, you know."

Jaune said as he stepped forward next to Daniel who stared at him with a sideways glance before laughing a bit at the blonde male's overall boldness in saying that out loud in an attempt to flirt. Weiss didn't share the same mindset and showed it by pressing her hand up against her face before sighing.

All of the students started leaving from inside of the amphitheater, most continued to talk among themselves and others chose to look around Beacon to get a better sense of the building's various locations beforehand. For the students who were interested in doing this, some instructors were handing out pamphlets, which had maps about the academy's layout. There were multiple students, most of them being the more diligent ones who took the pamphlets and decided to spend their time walking around school.

They were also informed that there would be dinner prepared in the cafeteria before the day was over.

"Daniel, do you want to join me and Hunter in going around the school?"

Pyrrha questioned him after walking up to him holding a pamphlet.

"Um, I would but," Daniel said before looking behind him to see Weiss walking off alone. "There's something that I need to catch up with and if I don't, then it'll be an awkward four years."

"Okay, then we'll meet again inside the cafeteria."

After answering him, Pyrrha and Hunter began going off to look at other areas of the Beacon, while Daniel began walking in the same direction that Weiss went.

Weiss found herself walking through one of the several halls of Beacon in a manner that seemed almost polished and following the directions on the pamphlet she received. As Weiss walked down the halls, there was a group of male and female students watching as she passed them.

{So, that's Weiss Schnee. The heiress.}

{I almost didn't believe that someone from a family such as the Schnee would leave from all that control.}

{If it was me, then I'd likely remain there and live the easy life. Almost like a genuine princess.}

Those were just some of the comments from female students who were wondering how the good like of being the heiress of one of the biggest dust dynasties on Remnant.

{Wow, would look at her.}

{She is a definite beauty.}

{Though, the scar kinda ruins the face.}

Weiss felt herself become repulsed about the comments from women who had no idea what their lives would be like in her shoes and men who saw nothing but her appearance. Hearing those comments caused her to recall a lot of the memories of people who said the same thing.

"I'll have to be together with these peons for the next four years," Weiss questioned herself in his head while she continued to pass through the various students wearing a resolved expression on her face. "My decision to come to Beacon has nothing to do with my family…it was something I decided for myself. I'll build my team of the best candidates in this school and I'll make a name for myself. And then I'll…."

"Yo, Weiss."

Weiss was too caught up in her thoughts to notice someone beside her. She turned her head toward the source, which was Daniel appearing next to her holding up his hand. She immediately reacted and stepped away from him out of slight fright.

"Ah, w-why do you always do that?"

"To get some kind of honest reaction out of you."

Around him, her expression faltered again as she glared toward him before returning to her usual demeanor.

"What do you want?"

"Come on," Daniel said ignoring the cold question directed at him. "I can't talk to my favorite Schnee? We haven't seen each other like this in a long time not even when I would return to Atlas."

"Then maybe you shouldn't have left."

"Sheesh, I felt the cold from that last comment."

Despite his nonchalant comment, those words did hurt him in a little bit but he maintained his composure, scratching his hair. He could tell that Weiss was ignoring him with her arms crossed as she looked away from him to let a noticeable 'humph" escape from her mouth. Daniel was glad that there was no one around the area to see them like that, which may cause the students to believe that it was a lover's quarrel or something.

"Come on, I had my reasons for leaving Atlas to go to Mistral, but it's not something that I can talk about at the moment," he said but that didn't spark a single reaction from Weiss who didn't even turn to look at him. "But, I was surprised to see that you decided to come to Beacon."

Weiss was giving him the silent treatment, but he couldn't tell whether or not she was listening to him.

"…."

"So, how'd you get that scar across your left eye from," he didn't know whether or not he was touching a delicate subject but he couldn't think about anything that could get a reaction from her and start a normal conversation. "I don't remember you having that scar during the last performance that I went to."

"…you went to one of those?"

Weiss finally answered him sounding a little surprised, which could be possible as there were so many people in the crowds that she couldn't see all the people in the seats. Daniel noticed that this was his opening to continue their conversation.

"Yea, I remember that you loved singing and my aunt would sometimes tell me when the Schnee Dust Company would hold concerts to events or charities," Daniel replied. "Though, I couldn't go to all of them since I was doing some things in Mistral."

"Well, whatever. It's not like I care either way," despite saying that, there was some hint of happiness in her voice. "I got this during a previous training session to prove to my father that I was prepared to leave from home. Do you have a problem with it?"

She turned towards him enough to where he could see the light scar that ran over her left eye, but there wasn't a single hint of disgust on his face.

"No," Daniel replied wearing a slight smile. "I don't know how girls feel about getting scars from a fight, but it doesn't bother me at all. Besides, I can't talk about someone else's scar."

That last comment caught her attention and became curious about the meaning behind it, but then a sigh left her mouth as both of them were silent for a little while. Before an idea entered her head then turned around so both of them were facing one another.

"Alright, I have a proposition for you. And that will decide our status for the next four years."

"I'm all ears."

After hearing Daniel saying those eager words, Weiss took a couple of steps before appearing in front of him.

"I have three separate requests for you, which you will need to complete," Weiss said emphasizing it further while holding up three fingers. "If you complete the first, then I'll start by not giving you the silent treatment anymore. If you complete the second, then I'll start talking to you as a normal acquaintance. And if you complete the third, I will consider the past resolved."

"Three requests, huh," Daniel said considering the irony in that number. "Alright, I'll go along with all three of the requests as long as I'm roped into anything…bad."

"I wouldn't make you do such as thing," Weiss said showing the faintest hint of a smile before turning around with a wave of her hand. "My first request is that you act as my escort during my tour of Beacon. I don't feel like being hounded by the students here at the moment."

"My I thought that the little heiress would be used to the attention."

Instead of coming up with a single response, Weiss instead rolled her eyes and started walking forward without telling him to follow her. This caused Daniel to laugh a little before following behind her.

"Wow, she's confident that I'll just follow her in the end," Daniel had thought in his head before starting to follow behind the heiress. "But, that's what makes Weiss, Weiss."

A/N: Well, this is the end of the next chapter of RWBY – Team DUSK, well this showed his encounter with the future leaders and teammates including another one of his teammates. So, it's still in the introduction stage at the moment and the next chapter will lead toward their initiations. During the encounter between the silver-eyed huntsmen-in-training, Daniel revealed his weapons Vanir and Retribution, which I based on the gunblade that Seha Lee used in Closers if anyone ever played or heard about it.

There are also some interesting interactions between both him and Weiss, their full past will be revealed in the future. Onto the potential pairings, when I first came up with the idea of doing this one, I wanted it to be a simple pairing with OcxWeissxRuby. Since there likely wouldn't be another one as this one was one of the best ideas of one that I came up with, I wanted to add in Yang and Blake into the pairing too. If not then I'll just stick with the original idea.

There's just one more person who hasn't been introduced who'll end up being a member of Team DUSK.
