Welcome to the next chapter of RWBY: Team DUSK, before starting the story. Let's answer some reviews:
Darth Simp: I'm glad that you liked the chapter. I loved writing these scenes since Daniel and Yang got a lot in common, which will be shown in more detail in the future. Well, there is a lot more to be revealed in regards to Daniel and his family as this tale continues.
Altajir95: Thanks. Yea, Yang got a request from Daniel like the others and went on a date. There is a lot of things that'll be revealed about the members of Team NOIR, and the other two allusions. I'll continue to do just that.
Sandra's Issues Pt. 1
Inside the bedroom belonging to Team DUSK, it was the middle of the night as the members were all asleep after going through their regular lives as students. In the bunk beds, where Daniel and Hunter slept, both young men slept peacefully in their top and bottom bunks respectively. A notable difference being the black-haired male wore a goofy face as he slept, while Hunter looked normal.
In the bunk beds where Alyssa and Sandra slept, the blonde remained bed smiling as she slept turned facing the right wall. But, the purple-haired hair looked to be going through something in her sleep, there looked to be some sweat running down her forehead as she was groaning. Whereas her teammates looked to have been having at least some good or normal dreams, the same couldn't be said about Sandra.
"…ngh."
She wasn't having a normal dream, instead, it was more recalling a vivid memory from her childhood.
It was hot. It was so hot, almost scorching during the morning, leading into the night, where it was manageable, but it was almost freezing. That was Sandra's experience in living in the Kingdom of Vacuo from her first memory, and it wasn't the most enjoyable childhood. Almost all desert as far as one could see, and the long term concerns about all the wasting winds, a Vacuan term for sandstorms.
Being able to find a proper settlement for a time before needing to move again, meaning that it would be difficult to survive. For Sandra, as a child, it was an experience that she was started becoming accustomed to soon after being born a part of a nomadic tribe.
"Hah, hah."
A young Sandra no older than eight or ten found herself parched, desiring water to quench her thirst.
Unlike her present self, her past self's expression looked more passive and nervous as she was dressed in light clothing that made it easier to handle Vacuo's conditions. Even her hair, which was long, in the past was shorter in length, reaching her shoulders.
Holstered beside her was a canteen filled with enough water to satiate someone's thirst if rightly rationed. But, it wasn't something normal children couldn't pick up on. However, for Sandra, it was something that was drilled into her head for as long as she could remember. Resting beside the canteen was a knife meant for protection.
"…."
She allowed a somewhat relieved breath to escape from her mouth as the little amount of water intake was able to somewhat satiate her.
"Sandra," a strong and stern voice caught her attention as the young girl flinched. "Are you unable to follow?"
"N-No, I'm fine."
Sandra immediately replied without skipping a beat as she returned the canteen to her side, and followed.
The nomadic tribe she belonged to was small enough to where rations were manageable and strong enough to defend themselves from threats. Much like most, born and raised in Vacuo, the tribe firmly believed in a survival of the fittest mindset. And all the other rules established within this tribe were enforced by the leader, who was the same person who gave birth to Sandra and taught them all to her.
The lone woman stood before the others with her back faced towards her child, without even turning to face her.
"Sandra, remember that survival means pressing forward no matter the conditions. If you're weak, then you'll be prey for the Grimm. Or if you're unable to survive, you'll die in the sand. Do you understand that?"
Her mother still didn't face her, and simply continued looking forward.
"…yes, ma'am."
Sandra could give no other response to her mother's harsh words aside from agreeing to them.
"Good. If you're my daughter, then prove you have the right to survive. If you do that then…."
"…!"
Sandra, in the present, leaned up from her bed looking forward as sweat came from her forehead, breathing as if all the air had been vacated from her lungs. It appeared as if she forced herself awake after recalling that specific dream, no memory. After letting out a couple more breathes escaped from her mouth, she placed a hand on her forehead as she looked forward.
Sandra almost rushed out of her bed, then headed in the bathroom without waking up all her teammates, locking the door behind her. Running her hand through her long purple hair, she stood in front of one of the skins, looking at herself in the mirror. As she stared into the mirror, Sandra stared at almost all the features of her face and hair but wondered if she was staring at herself or someone else.
"…I haven't had that dream in a long time."
A breath escaped from her mouth as she stared downward, placing her hand forward, preparing to grip the sink's rim. But, instead of touching the solid part, her hands instead passed right through it, causing Sandra to realize it meant she was losing control of her semblance.
"The hell?!"
Realizing the situation, Sandra moved from the sink and stood there in the bathroom staring at her hands looking stunned. Her semblance, Phasing, allows her to pass right through solid things, but something like this has never happened before in a long time. However, Sandra learned from experience that one's emotional state affected their semblance.
"But, I've never lost control over my semblance in a long time."
Sandra said as she reached her hand out to the wall beside her, noting that it passed through the solid wall, then removed it from the wall.
She soon took a couple of seconds to calm herself down, then extended her hand to the wall wondering what the results would be. Sandra was relieved to see that her hand didn't pass through the wall this time as it meant her semblance was under her control again at least. But, there was also the fact that she didn't know whether or not her emotional state would be the same.
Thoughts about her dream started resurfacing in her head as she placed both her hands on her face, and started running them through her hair. Those memories, no matter how hard she tried forgetting about them all, the more those memories remained on her mind.
"It's going to be a pain falling asleep again."
Sandra groaned to herself before turning the water on, then washed her face in an attempt to cool her head.
Once Sandra finished, she found herself exiting the bathroom, but stopped as she found someone standing right in front of her. Hunter was standing in front of her scratching his bedhead that almost caused her to laugh from it, but held it in.
"Hunter, what're you doing up?"
Sandra asked, noticing that Hunter still looked tired.
"…." After yawning, Hunter started signing, which was something that Sandra and Alyssa started picking upon in an attempt to understand him too. 'I needed to use the bathroom, then I heard yelling. Daniel and Alyssa are still in their beds, so I realized it was you.'
"Ah, it was nothing. I slipped a bit on something," Sandra told a light lie, not wanting to cause distress to Hunter. But, she found it a bit ironic in that considering her initial meeting with Daniel. "Well, the bathroom is all yours. I'm heading back to bed."
Sandra waved her hand, then started heading back to bed, but was stopped as Hunter tapped her shoulder.
"Hmm?"
Sandra turned toward Hunter wondering what he wanted.
'Are you sure you're fine? You look as if something's on your mind.'
Hunter signed.
There it was again. Despite the kind of person she had acting around all of them, her teammates were still trying to be kind to her. Each time that happened, a new kind of feeling started bubbling up within her chest, which was something she hadn't experienced before at Vacuo.
"Shouldn't you be much more focused on going to the bathroom rather than me," Sandra asked back lightly and casually waved her hand. She started heading back to bed before a question left her mouth before her mind was able to stop it. "Hunter, did you ever hate your dad?"
"…?"
Hunter was confused about that question since it was the first time that either of them asked him something like that before. But, Sandra stood there giving him a look that he hadn't seen from her and wouldn't have expected to see from here. Not needing to think about the response, Hunter raised his hand, then started signing.
'I did when he left…and I still do. But, I don't know any other feeling to have toward him.'
Hunter signed unable to describe it as anything other than that.
For as long as Hunter could recall, neither he nor his father shared a single father-son moment at all. He didn't understand what to feel about his father at all, but as Hunter grew up he wondered if he could be called a father.
'I mean, I'm here because of him. But, he never felt like a father once.'
Hunter signed afterward.
"I see."
Sandra couldn't give another response aside from that as she turned around, then retreated inside of her bed as she laid down. After seeing that, Hunter wondered what was going through Sandra's mind at that moment, but he turned around. But, for the moment, he turned around and headed inside the bathroom to handle his business.
"…."
Sandra remained to lie down in her bed as she was thinking about Hunter's response unable to comprehend her feelings on the matter itself.
"What was our relationship in the first place?"
Sandra asked herself as before even falling asleep, those memories were still on her mind. However, it wasn't all that long until she started falling asleep with that question running through her mind.
The next morning, Team DUSK found themselves sitting at the breakfast table, the others were situated at other tables due to their usual spots being packed; wanting to spend time with their teams. But, Daniel did receive some waves from members of Team RWBY, most notable being Ruby and Yang, who did it blatantly. In response to this, Daniel smiled and waved back in a manner, which caused the sisters to laugh, Weiss to roll her eyes, and Blake to stifle laughter.
"Sandra, are you alright?"
Alyssa asked drinking from the orange juice in her hands.
"…hmm."
Sandra didn't appear to be responsive to Alyssa's question as she seemed to mess around with the food placed on her plate using her fork. It wouldn't be the first time that Alyssa asked her partner that question but received just a 'hmm' or 'uh huh' as a response.
"What's wrong with Sandra? This is the first time that I've seen her like this since the first time we've met," Alyssa worriedly thought as she stared at her partner's unresponsive face. "I thought that she'd at least get annoyed that I keep asking her the same question."
Alyssa didn't know what else she could say to get Sandra's attention. And Hunter sat beside Hunter wondering if it had anything to do what her odd question from last night.
"Well, this is a little weird? Sandra hasn't said a single word, nor has she looked as if she was reacting to us."
Daniel said turning back around to find Sandra still maintaining the same expression on her face.
'I think that she might be going through something serious.'
Hunter signed looking straight at Daniel, then Alyssa who had nodded her head in agreement, before she got into a thinking posture. She was thinking about at least getting some kind of reaction from Sandra to know whether or not she was going through something serious.
"It might be dangerous, but I guess we'll need to confirm it somehow," Alyssa said then turned her attention right at Daniel, who was drinking from his coffee. "Daniel, do what you do best?"
"And what would that be? I'm great at a lot of things."
"That. Being the definition of a smart aleck," Alyssa jokingly started pointing her finger at Daniel. "Daniel, you are an expert at making people want to attack you with unrelenting force with nothing but your words alone. So, there is no one else aside from you who might be able to get a reaction from Sandra."
""….""
Daniel and Hunter stared at Alyssa, who gave that honest if not blunt response about Daniel's tendencies to put people in that kind of mindset.
"That's got to be the second most brutal description about someone that I've ever heard," Daniel started, then took a single sip from his coffee. "But, you're not wrong. I've made enemies from just talking from time to time."
Hunter almost burst out laughing after hearing that response from Daniel, but it wasn't that surprising that would be his response.
"I can try and get a reaction from her. But, I don't know if now is the right time for this," Daniel said placing his coffee on the table, turning right toward Sandra as a breath escaped from his mouth. "So, Sandra going to eat anything instead of stabbing at it?"
"Uh-huh."
"Sandra, I've been meaning to ask if stabbing people who irritated you were a natural thing growing up."
"Hmm."
Daniel, Alyssa, and Hunter stared now a little bit more worried as Sandra didn't respond to a single thing he was saying to her.
"Hey, Red Lancer. Did you hit your head or something? Or did Sky confess to you or something?"
"Uh-huh."
[…!]
Daniel, Hunter, and Alyssa stared at Sandra dumbfounded.
The fact that Sandra didn't react to that last part concerned them considering that she made it clear her distaste for all the members of Team CRDL. And Daniel was even prepared to have one of her utensils pointed at him. At that moment, Daniel, Alyssa, and Hunter now looking stunned and worried for their teammate huddled together in a rushed fashion.
"Alright, now I'm worried about her."
Alyssa started sounding worried about her partner.
"I can't believe that didn't get a reaction from her. She hates Sky more than she hated me at first. I thought that it would at least cause her to point her fork at me."
Daniel said, showing concern on his face and in his tone.
'Uh, what're we going to do?'
Hunter signed hurriedly, to the point where it could barely be read by them.
"Well, this brings back some old memories."
A familiar voice caught their attention.
The three turned around to find Coco standing there with Velvet were their two male teammates, both, of course, were upperclassmen in the same year as them.
A tall dark-skinned dark copper-haired and white-eyed young man, dressed in the school uniform, whose name is Fox Alistair. And the tallest among them all, a black-haired and brown-haired young man, whose hair was shaved short named Yatsuhashi Daichi. All three of them had soon become acquainted with them sometime after Jaune was being blackmailed by Cardin almost two weeks ago now.
"What do you mean, Coco?"
Velvet asked tilting her head to the side after waving toward Daniel and the others.
"I think she meant all the times we huddled together like that during our first year."
Fox replied.
"So, what's wrong with Sandra here?"
Coco asked taking a now-empty seat beside Daniel who was now in-between her and Sandra.
"Don't know. She hasn't reacted at all, so there's no way we can even figure out what's wrong with her."
Daniel answered honestly as Coco seemed to be thinking about something after hearing that response from him.
"Hmm, I might have an idea. Mind giving me that seat?"
"Uh, sure."
Daniel moved out of his seat as Coco took it, causing the members of Team DUSK to wonder what the second year was going to do. But, based on the expressions on the faces of Team CFVY, the three of them had an idea of what she was going to be doing at least.
"Sandra darling, I think that you're daydreaming," Coco stated, while boldly placing a finger underneath Sandra's chin, causing the purple-haired girl to stare right at her. Seeing this caused Daniel, Hunter, and Alyssa to all look stunned after seeing what Coco was doing. "You're going to make your senior real upset if she doesn't get a single response."
To make things more bolder and apparent, Coco started brushing Sandra's cheek using her hand, causing all the members of Team DUSK to blush deeply. Although, Sandra remained unresponsive that entire time, she blinked a good number of times before her cheeks started turning bright red.
"Wah, what the hell do you think you're doing?!"
Sandra stood up in a rush and panicked, causing her to bump into someone standing beside her. Sitting beside them was a well-built young man in his second year, and he stood up, showing his height was taller than Sandra.
"Watch where you're going! Don't you first-years know anything about manners?"
He demanded staring down at Sandra, who turned around towards him with uncaring eyes.
"No, I never learned em'. Are you going to teach me about them?"
Sandra stared straight at the second-year, who looked stunned about the fierceness in from her red eyes.
Seeing that look, the second-year and the others from his team (?) started standing up, then following behind him as he left from the table. Taking note of the vacant seats, Velvet, Fox, and Yatsuhashi all took seats right beside the members of Team DUSK.
"I like a girl who doesn't take crap from anyone. You're turning more and more into a keeper as time passes."
Coco teased while smiling to herself.
"When are you going to stop trying to flirt with me?"
"When are you going to stop playing hard to get?"
"I'm not even into girls."
"How would you know? I don't think boys would interest you either."
Coco pointed out, finding Sandra to be the kind of person who wouldn't have been interested in the opposite sex, and it was something that her teammates could see. And Sandra paused unable to disagree with those words since not a single point in her life did she ever think about dating or talking to boys, let alone girls.
"She's not wrong."
Daniel pointed out, resulting in Sandra snapping in his direction.
"You want me to stab you," Sandra threatened Daniel, who defensively held out his hands. "How would you know the kind of person I might or might not be interested in? Not that I even care about that kind of thing."
"I might've been right about the stabbing thing."
"What was that?"
"Nothing."
Sandra narrowed her eyes right at Daniel, wondering what he meant about those words. Her leader, on the other hand, glanced to the side, wearing an innocent look and whistling. It appears based on that reaction alone, it fully showed that Sandra wasn't aware of anything around her at the time. Seeing their dynamic caused Fox let a light laugh escape from his mouth.
"Definitely the comic relief of the team."
"And proud of it."
Daniel added laughing at Fox's reaction to that.
He was well aware that Fox was blind, but he has a special earpiece that assists him in that. And Daniel could tell he could even sense auras since he described him and Alyssa as being "strong".
"Did you come over here just to tease me?"
Sandra asked turning her head to the side, not wanting to look at Coco.
"Well, that's part of the reason," Coco said smilingly lightly before starting to drink the coffee that she had brought from her plate. Hearing that caused Sandra to roll her eyes not knowing how to react or act around Coco. "But, I was curious about something."
"And what's that?"
"Are you the person who keeps playing their guitar over the weekend from the open window?"
Sandra was surprised about that question, resulting in her even turning around so that she could face the second-year team leader.
"And if I am?"
"Then I wanted to say that you rock," Coco replied honestly, once again surprising her. "I often see a lot of people standing outside listening to the music coming from the open window. It didn't take me long to realize that it was coming from the same room as your team. And I thought that it had to be you since I don't take the others as playing that kind of music on an electric guitar."
"Well, I didn't think that people would be listening. I just played a song without considering that."
"I didn't know that Sandra played the guitar. Could you play a song in front of us once?"
Velvet kindly asked as her bunny ears seemed to twitch too, but then stopped after feeling Hunter starting to tap her shoulder.
'I doubt that would work. We've tried that before.'
"Really?"
Velvet looked on sadly hearing that.
"Yea, I mean, we've been trying for the first month to get Sandra to play a song in front of us. But, I guess that it's stage fright."
Alyssa added shrugging her shoulders, almost giving a faux pitying look, but this sparked an immediate reaction from Sandra who glared straight at her.
"Who has stage fright?!"
Sandra asked standing up from her.
"I mean, what other reason could there be. You wouldn't perform a single song in front of your teammates, so I'd thought that you couldn't perform well in front of others. I'm sorry that we were trying to push you into performing a song in front of all of us. I didn't know you had that kind of problem."
Almost everyone sitting at the table could tell that Alyssa was speaking in a faux tone, which made it sound as if she pitied Sandra for her "condition". Her teammates and the members of Team CFVY turned their attention at a fuming Sandra as a vein could be seen popping on her forehead as she closed her eyes.
"You know, the thing is, I know you're trying to goad me into playing the guitar. But, you decided on even taking it a step further by saying I've got stage fright," Sandra said sounding as if she was struggling to control her anger, before opening her eyes revealing a pair of red eyes, which showed nothing but seriousness. "So, I'll play a song right in front of our entire group in the student lounge! Then as soon as I'm finished, I want you to apologize for all that crap you were spouting!"
Once Sandra was finished making that declaration to Alyssa, she stood up from her seat with her tray in her hand as she stormed off. All of them looked as Sandra walked off after tossing away the rest of her food, but seemed to have kept her coffee.
"Wow, I never thought that anyone aside from me could get her that mad."
Daniel said surprised about Sandra's reaction.
'Don't you think that it was taking it a bit too far Alyssa?'
Hunter signed.
"Yea, I don't think that was a little bit mean? I wouldn't feel right listening to her song if she was pressured into it."
Velvet agreed with Alyssa who glanced to the side in thought about it.
"Yea, but Sandra isn't the kind of person who does something just because someone taunts you. The Sandra we first ran into would have just ignored it and walked off without paying you any mind."
Alyssa pointed out, which was something Daniel and Hunter could agree with.
"Well, deep down she wanted to perform in front of us. But, another part of her didn't want to for some reason."
Daniel suggested.
'It makes me realize that we don't know a lot about Sandra all the more.'
Hunter signed after Daniel, and Alyssa nodded her head.
"Well, there's one thing that we know," Alyssa started before smiling. "Sandra might want to come off as a girl who doesn't care about what happens to others. But, she can't abandon someone when they're in trouble."
"You know your teams are surprising."
Fox suddenly said catching their attention.
"What do you mean?"
Daniel asked curiously.
"Everyone was watching the entire initiation, and a lot of the other upperclassmen commented that nobody from your teams matched each other. I mean even the people who you were all partnered with look like the complete opposite of you by definition alone. Some of them even mentioned that it would be pointless for your three teams to continue fighting against those three Grimm."
Fox replied before Coco laughed.
"But, boy were they all wrong. You should've seen the looks on their faces when your three teams defeated those big Grimm," Coco said out loud as she still thought back to the moments where she watched the entire fight take place. "Jaune and his team sent the Death Stalker down the bridge after impaling it using its stinger. Daniel and you all beheaded a Behemoth. And Ruby and her team trapped the Nevermore, then Ruby dragged it up an entire cliff before beheading it too. I don't think that any first-year students ever did most of the things that you all did during the initiations."
"Yes, I thought that you were all amazing for being able to do that and work well together."
Velvet added smiling at the accomplishments of their underclassmen at that time.
"Yea, but this is just some advice from your upperclassman by a year," Coco said, turning her attention primarily at Daniel. "Things are going to get a little more difficult as you continue attending Beacon the next three years. As a team leader, you hold the most responsible among the team. So, it would be best for you, Ruby, and Jaune to learn and think about what it means to be a leader."
"Yea, thanks for the advice."
Daniel honestly said, causing Coco to nod her head and smile at him.
Coco in this instance was acting like a genuine underclassman and advised her underclassman without it sounding as if she was telling them what to do. It was one of the things that their group found likable about Coco, and finding it easy to have a conversation with her. And the same can be said about her teammates, Velvet, Fox, and Yatsuhashi.
"I've been meaning to ask something, Coco."
"Hmm, what would that be?"
"Why're you so proactive in pursuing Sandra?"
"What? Are you jealous, Alyssa," Coco jokingly asked staring forward at Alyssa as she rested her hand on top of her hand. "Don't know. I think there's something that the two of us could have in common with each other. And I do like a challenge sometimes."
"I see."
Alyssa replied not knowing how to respond to what Coco said about a "challenge".
From there, the entire group simply kept enjoying their conversation awaiting for the moment, where the students would need to head out to classes.
Moments after Sandra left the table, she found herself leaning against the wall outside the cafeteria drinking from her coffee. It looked as if she had settled down from the previous incidents almost seconds after walking off, but it was almost impossible for her to return after all that happened.
"Hah, what's wrong with me? I wouldn't have cared about what others thought about me until coming here. But, I met all these weird people who started making me have all these weird feelings."
Sandra was mumbled to herself while drinking her coffee as students started walking past her.
Despite all that, Sandra didn't have any issues with the people that she had met since enrolling into Beacon, but she did hate the fact that Daniel crashed into her. As she caused the cup's contents to be stirred around inside of her hands. She couldn't explain it, but she started thinking about all the things that led to her enrolling in this kind of school following her experiences in Vacuo. No matter what happened, her mother was the first thing that came to her mind causing different emotions to stir inside of her.
"Why do I keep thinking about her? I haven't thought about her since…."
As Sandra's mind started back to "that" incident, she started becoming unable to feel the coffee cup in her hands, causing her to think back to last night. Similar to that time, the coffee cup slipped from her hands as her Phasing semblance activated without her intent again.
"Ah, crap!"
Sandra tried reaching for the coffee before spilling it on the ground.
Before she could reach it, someone did just as it was going to land on the ground, spilling all its contents. Sandra looked surprised as she noticed the person who kept it from falling to the ground.
"I believe that you dropped this, Miss Skye."
Standing in front of her smiling was Beacon's Headmaster, Ozpin holding her coffee in his hands and holding it right in front of her.
"Ah, thanks, Professor Ozpin," Sandra said taking the coffee off his hand but finding the entire thing too much of a shock. "That was close, but that was insane. I didn't even notice him walking towards me, let alone him catching my coffee before it spilled on the ground. I guess that he's the Headmaster for a reason."
Sandra was surprised, but not too much about the difference in speed compared to them. She couldn't catch it as it was falling to the ground and she was in front of it, but Ozpin, who was walking up towards her did.
"I'm surprised to see you're not around your friends or teammates."
"Friends, yea," Sandra said thinking about the word 'friends' in her head a lot as she started drinking her coffee. "I had a little bit of a disagreement with my partner about something."
"Well, I wouldn't mind hearing about it if you don't mind talking about it."
"Uh, I mean, sure. But, it isn't there anything else you should be doing as the Headmaster?"
Sandra found herself replying, surprised that she would even want to talk about something like this to someone else, a teacher.
"Well, I happen to have some free time at the moment. And I would be interested in hearing about what you think about Beacon since enrolling here. I know that things must be different here compared to Vacuo."
Ozpin replied, showing a good deal of interest and care about Sandra.
"Alright. I wasn't planning on doing anything anyway."
Sandra agreed with talking to Ozpin, who signaled for her to follow him, meaning that the two would be going on a stroll for some time.
Having agreed to walk and talk with Ozpin, Sandra found herself talking about what happened in the cafeteria, as a light-hearted laugh could be heard escaping from the Headmaster's mouth.
"Hahaha, well, it does sound like an interesting turn of events."
"Ah, explaining it out loud makes me think that I might've overreacted."
"Well, I believe that you students shouldn't be concerned about every single thing. You're all still growing up, and are learning about what it means to be Huntsmen. So, I think that you should all be free to act however you want without concerns, and enjoy your time as students. It'd be a shame if you found yourself as an adult and realized you didn't do all the things normal children do."
Sandra listened to every single word that Ozpin said to her, and thought seriously about them.
"Yea, I can see that. I…really didn't have the chance to live like a moderately normal kid like everyone else. So, I find it a little hard acting nonchalant about things like every one of my frie…group."
"They're your friends, Sandra. I don't think that anyone of them would pretend to be anything other than that," he paused for a moment to drink from the contents of his cup as Sandra glanced to the side. "Do you believe that all of them don't consider you a friend?"
"I'm not the easiest person to get along with from time to time. I often argue with Daniel and Alyssa, but the one I haven't disagreed with is Hunter. I mean, he often just goes along with whatever we decide to do without a single complaint about it. And it kinda reminds me of…." Sandra started before finding herself stopping before finishing that comment, then looked forward. "Well, it would be hard befriending someone like me."
"And yet, you've made several good friends after enrolling into Beacon. Believe me, I know that all of them view you as being one of their friends. It might be difficult to become accumulated to another kingdom's customs after spending so much time doing one thing. But, you don't need to be concerned about trusting your friends and your teammates."
"…alright."
Sandra could do nothing but give that weak response.
It wasn't long until Sandra heard the sound of the bell signifying that the breakfast period was over, causing both her and Ozpin to stop walking.
"Well, I believe that you should head off to classes before you end up being late," Ozpin said smiling as he turned to face Sandra once more. "This is merely a guess, but I think that Port has something planned for his students. I believe that he has been looking a bit too jovial the past couple of days during meetings."
"Thanks for spoiling that surprise for me, Professor Ozpin."
Sandra said with more of a joking tone behind her words, which was something that Ozpin found himself giving a faint laugh. It wasn't long until he started walking off using his rather ornate cane as support, but she wondered if it was even needed for him.
"…friends, huh. I'm not in Vacuo anymore, but…."
'Sandra.'
"Tch, why am I still thinking about her?"
Sandra spoke irritated after hearing her mother's voice in her head again while placing a hand on her forehead.
Having managed to get her mother's voice out of her head, Sandra tossed her empty coffee cup into the trash bin after crushing it. She headed back with the intent of meeting up with her teammates so that the group could head to class together. But, that thought alone sounded weird for her to since the old she would have headed out alone to class thinking about them.
"Did I change after coming here?"
Sandra wondered whether or not that was true, but it made her wonder if it was the reason that she was thinking about her past after all that time. She came here to fulfill what she wanted in becoming a Huntress and would do it if it meant being partnered with people she couldn't see eye to eye with. Sandra met those kinds of people, but it wasn't what she thought that it would be.
And it happened after becoming a member of Team DUSK, she argued with Daniel and Alyssa, then managed to converse with Hunter. She was able to have arguably the best time that she had ever had her entire life, and it was something that caused various feelings to well up within her.
'Sandra, do you want to prove you're my daughter?'
"…dammit."
Sandra placed her hand on her head as if she had a headache and bit the inside of her mouth.
As the memories from that moment started resurfacing in her head, causing the hand on her head to shake a bit and clench her free hand.
"Hey, Sandra. There you are."
Sandra was surprised to hear that Alyssa was calling her out.
Sandra looked up to see, Alyssa, Daniel, and Hunter walking up to her without anyone else from their group with them. Walking up to her was her teammates alone as the three stood in front of her wondering what was keeping her.
"What're you doing here? We thought you were still close to the cafeteria."
Alyssa asked confused, tilting her head.
"I ran into Professor Ozpin who'd found me standing outside of the cafeteria. I didn't have anything to do, so I had decided to talk with him for a bit."
Sandra honestly replied placing her still shaking hand in a position where neither of them could see it.
"Is that so? I haven't talked to him much. You'd think that the Headmaster would be busy with other things," there was still a curious tone in her tone. "Well, what was it about?"
"The incident in the cafeteria."
"Ah, right," hearing that caused Alyssa to scratch the side of her cheek somewhat nervously. "I'm sorry about that and everything that I said. I didn't mean anything about it, but it was kinda taking things a bit too far. If you don't want to perform in front of everyone, then you don't have to."
Sandra looked on, noticing that Alyssa was being genuine about her feelings about what she said. Seeing it had caused a faint smile to form on Sandra's face before turning into a more teasing smile.
"Ah, don't think you're getting out it that easy. After I perform in front of anyone, I'm expecting that apology."
Sandra started directing her finger toward Alyssa, who looked surprised about that reaction.
"I'm a woman who always keeps her word. I can't wait to see what you play in front of us," Alyssa said smiling at her partner. "Well, let's to class before we're late."
"Right. I don't want to receive a lecture from Professor Port before hearing his actual lecture."
Sandra stated as she started heading towards their first-period class, with Daniel, Alyssa, and Hunter walking beside her. As the team was walking together, Daniel turned his attention to Sandra.
"Are you alright?"
Daniel asked, causing some surprise in Sandra who replied normally.
"Yea, where'd that question come from?"
"Before Alyssa called out to you. Your hand was on your head as if you had a headache," Daniel replied thinking back to the time she had her hand on her head. "If you're feeling sick, you could head back to the dorms and get some sleep. I wouldn't mind telling the teachers about it and getting whatever assignments you missed."
"…," Sandra maintained her usual composure, almost holding back a smile. "I'm fine. It was just a faint thing, and nothing to be worried about Daniel. But, thanks anyway."
"Well, alright. But, don't be afraid to tell me."
Daniel stated as he and his team started heading toward their first-period class with Professor Port.
Sandra was thinking about the conversation that she had with Ozpin, changing since she came to Beacon, and in meeting the members of Team DUSK. But, as she was thinking about what was happening in the present, more memories of her past kept resurfacing too. Sandra walked behind Daniel, Hunter, and Alyssa, not showing what kind of expression was showing on her face.
Inside their first period, Grimm Studies headed by Peter Port, the students were all sitting in their seats listening to the lesson. In some cases, most of the lesson plans involved listening to some tale from his youth, but there were some moments where his lessons were interesting. Though this time, it wasn't the former, the latter.
"Well, it was at that time that I realized the repercussions of attempting to hunt down a horde of Ursa alone! Hah, but I still succeeded in vanquishing those foul beasts! And, I also managed to attract the attention of yet another beauty! Now, I hope that the young men in this room pay close attention to these lessons in hopes that one day, you'll find that special lady in your life."
There was silence among the male students who had doubts about whether or not that happened.
"Yea!"
The same student from the first day of classes called out again, raising his hand again. As such, like before it caused all the males to turn their attention towards him. Seeing that happen, the male student retreated his hand, then tried avoiding all their gazes embarrassed.
"…sorry."
"Hahaha, well, there's at least one male who'll find themselves becoming quite the amazing Huntsman much like myself."
"Eh, I don't doubt that Professor Port is an amazing Huntsman, but his teaching skills at the moment aren't giving much of an inkling of that."
Daniel thought staring forward at the lesson.
Beside him, Hunter was as respectful as normal looking forward; Alyssa was looking bored out of her mind, but tried not making it obvious; but, Sandra wasn't giving her usual mumbles or comments as normal. And in front of them as usual was Team RWBY. Their team leader looked on the brink of falling asleep; Weiss was as studious as usual and paid attention; Blake didn't appear to care about the lesson at all; Yang looked about the same as her younger sister.
"I wonder what's wrong with Sandra. She was acting a little happier than usual the past week, but now she looks as if she's not even acting like her usual self."
Daniel noted watching as Sandra was looking forward absentmindedly, showing no reaction whatsoever to Port's "lesson". It didn't even look as if she was even staring at Professor Port, let alone anybody or anything else in the classroom at that moment.
"I don't even know much about Sandra to guess what's wrong with her."
Daniel thought resting his head on his head while looking forward and attempting to listen to Professor Port's weird lesson at the same time. Since it would be quite some more time before class would end, the students would be able to leave in a couple of moments. But, much to their relief, Port finished his lesson, then turned his attentions to his students as he stood in front of them.
"Well, although I'm sure that your students were simply enjoying hearing another rigorous tale from my youth," an unexpressive look could be seen on the students' faces, but Port didn't appear to notice them. Once he turned to all the students, their expressions returned to somewhat normalcy. "But, I, your wonderful teacher as something planned for you all if you're interesting."
Some students didn't appear to believe that the thing that he had planned would indeed be something that they'd interested in. However, Port kept looking confident that the students would be interested in whatever he'd planned out for his students.
"I don't think that there's a need to keep you all practically marinating in anticipation about the surprise. So, I will not keep you all waiting any longer," Port said but contradicted himself as he did wait for some time before giving his answer to them all. "I thought about giving you students a little more practical experience and planned a little camping venture in the Emerald Forest."
[Oooh!]
Hearing that from Professor Port caught their attention as the students, who weren't focused on the lessons were now focusing on him. Seeing all his students paying attention caused a good deal of pride to well up inside of the professor.
"Yes! Our class is going to be heading out into the Emerald Forest, but this won't be like the usual lessons where it would be for an hour or two. Instead, this would be a two-day trip that'll be occurring over the weekend. So, please if you're interested in this outing, then please read and sign the paper that I'll be passing around the class. I'd like to see who would be looking forward to spending some time camping in the Emerald Forest."
Finishing that explanation to his students, Professor Port found himself passing out the stack of slips to the first student. And from there, the student, a female took a slip, then started passing it down to the next student who'd proceeded with doing the same thing. It was soon passed down to the members of Team RWBY, with Yang being the one who passed it up to Alyssa.
"Hey, Sandra," Sandra was still wearing the same look on her face as she didn't appear to register it. "Hello, don't make me get Coco again."
Having said those words and pocked Sandra's cheek, it had sparked a reaction from her as the purple-haired girl as she flinched at that.
"W-What? R-Right."
Sandra appeared to have heard at least some of what happened in class and realized what the slip of paper had meant. She took one of them, then passed it down to Hunter, who passed it down to Daniel, who handed it off to the group sitting beside him. As soon as all the slips were handed off Professor Port stood in front of the class pleasantly.
"I'm interested in seeing how many students agree to go out on this little venture. Now, I'll continue with the vigorous tale from my youth."
[Ugh.]
There was a silent groan from some of the students, as Port continued with his story, without seeming to take not of it. But, some of the students were planning on heading out on the camping trip with Professor Port this weekend. Other students couldn't go due to having prior plans already. And for the students who were planning on going, there was a good deal of anticipation building up within them.
"Wow, I'm looking forward to this camping trip!"
Ruby declared as she exited their first-period class, raising out her arms as she walked.
Both the members of Team DUSK and RWBY found themselves walking down the halls, while other friends head out to their next classes.
"So, I can take that as confirmation you're going."
Daniel pointed out.
"Of course, dad or our uncle used to take us out camping from time to time back where we lived."
Ruby replied smilingly cheerfully.
"Yea and this is going to be the first time we're going camping as a big group."
"I have never been…camping before."
"Not surprising for several reasons," Daniel pointed out walking beside Weiss. "The weather conditions in Atlas, well, Solitas is general isn't the most suitable conditions for camping."
"Yea and I don't think that Miss Schnee here would be interested in camping."
Yang pointed out jokingly.
"That's where you're wrong, I did have camping experience of some time, albeit not in the conventional sense."
Weiss said, but regretted it, causing Daniel to realize what she was referring to.
"And what does that mean?"
Black curiously asked as the others' interests seemed to have been peaked.
"Daniel and I might've camped indoors…in my room at night once."
Weiss replied embarrassingly as her cheeks turned bright red.
Hearing that caught the attention of the members of their team, not more so than Alyssa, Yang, and Black who'd worn a surprised look on their faces.
"Whoa, I keep hearing more and more bold things between you two."
"Wow, I didn't think that the strict and serious heiress would be so bold."
"Well, that's surprising."
Yang, Alyssa, and Blake all gave their responses having heard that from Weiss causing her face to turn redder by the second.
"W-Wait, it, it isn't what it looks like. I-I mean, Daniel snuck into my room and talked about having camping inside my room. He already had everything prepared for camping and it did turn into a fun moment together. I mean, I'd wish he'd given me a heads up before doing that. Or scaring me with ghost stories."
"That's what you do when camping. I mean, I told your mom and Klein. I was lucky that your dad was out of time because that wouldn't have gone in the direction that I was looking forward to."
"Oh, is there some hate between the father and his daughter's crush?"
Yang asked more interested in that, but that question caused Weiss to give the kind of reaction that no one would have expected.
"Well, our thing is simple. He doesn't like me, and I don't like him."
Daniel replied seriously, which was something that no one would have expected from him.
"Well, we'll come back to that one on a much late date," Yang said attempting to steer from the conversation after seeing that Weiss showed no reaction to Daniel pointing out he didn't like her father. There were others could tell that Weiss had complicated feeling directed towards her father and didn't mention it. "So, I can tell that our entire teams are going on this camping trip."
"…." Hunter raised his hand gaining their attention, then started signing. 'There are still Grimm housed inside the Emerald Forest.'
"I'm sure that Professor Port thought about the Grimm situation too. I doubt that a professor here would send out a group of students camping without a plan in mind."
"Daniel, you do recall that the Headmaster and another professor also launched several students into the said forest as a part of an initiation? And expected all the students to have their landing strategy."
Blake reminded causing them all to, in fact, recall that.
"Well, I mean come on. All of us are enrolled into a school that trains to fight Grimm and travel doing missions too around Remnant. So, it's not a normal school."
"I mean, Dani isn't wrong too. But, it makes me wonder what Professor Port has planned for this outing over this weekend."
"I hope that we're going to be making s'mores! I loved doing that when we went out camping."
"Well, we should focus on what Professor Port has planned for the trip. This could also end up being a trip meant to educate students too."
"Only our dear Weiss here would be more focused on the educational aspect instead of the fun aspect. Isn't that right, Sandra? Sandra?"
Alyssa directed her attention toward Sandra who was walking beside them without saying a single word.
"Uh, Sandra?"
"…."
"Is she alright? Sandra hasn't said a single word since we've been walking."
Blake asked, staring at the expressionless look on Sandra's face.
"We don't know. She has been zoning out from time to time without reacting to anything around her," Alyssa gave Blake that response. "It took Coco to get her to return to normal, but then she returned to acting like this."
"Daniel, what did you do?"
Hearing that explanation from Sandra caused Blake to turn her attention toward Daniel, who could practically feel her hazel eyes on him.
"Why am I the prime suspect?"
"Because you and Sandra are normally going at it. And you also tend to get into a lot of trouble with that mouth of yours."
"You're words cut deep, Blake. Truth, but hurtful," Daniel said in a faux tone but could hear that Blake was being more playful, which was surprising and cute. "But, I and Sandra hadn't seriously gone at it in a long time. And if we did, then she wouldn't have gotten depressed, she would've stabbed me."
"Dani is not wrong. But, then what caused her to act like this?"
Yang asked interjecting into the conversation.
'Well, whatever it is. We're going to be there for her when she needs us.'
Hunter signed causing Daniel to smile at his response and held out his hand.
"That's right. We're going to be there for our teammates no matter what happens."
Daniel replied, with Hunter smiling and high-fived after mentioning that.
From there, the group kept talking about the plans involving the camping outing that Professor Port came up with. All the while, Sandra was barely paying attention to what was happening around her, but still somehow managed to make it to class.
Once school ended, the members of Team DUSK found themselves in their room, most going over the events of what happened. The most notable one is the prospect of going out camping inside of the Emerald Forest with their boastful and eccentric teacher. Alyssa was leaning down in the top bunk as she looked to be going through her messages.
Hunter, on the other hand, was being a dutiful archer and was going through all the arrowheads that he kept in a case underneath his bed. It looked as if all of them carried the same antler-like engravings on them, but some of them had different coloring added onto them.
"So, I get the gist of what this trip is going to be like based on this slip explaining it," Daniel pointed out holding it in his hands while sitting in one of the chairs in their room. "But, I think that it's kinda funny that even in the paper explaining the trip, it kinda sounds like his usual lessons."
"Yea, I kinda got the same feeling after reading it for the first time. But, the more that I sit through his lessons, the more endearing that it sounds instead of sounding overblown. Even if Professor Port does nothing, but tells us all 'vigorous' tales from his youth, it's not like he's arrogant about it."
"That's true. And sometimes in those stories, he does give good lessons from time to time about Grimm and their possible weak points," Daniel replied placing the paper on the table, but based on the additional writing that had been added, it was shown that he finished signing it. "But, based on what he added onto the things that we would need, it sounds as if we're preparing for potentially needing to camp out in the future."
Daniel brought up one of the things written out onto the paper, which explained all the things that the people who agreed to the camping trip would need. It ranged from bringing their sleeping bags and of course their weapons, but it stressed that Port would be in charge of preparing food depending on the number of students.
'I'm kinda curious about what would end up happening during this trip.'
Hunter signed turning his attention toward his team.
"I think that it's going to be fun camping in the Emerald Forest, and it would be the first time I go out camping," an amused tone could be heard from Alyssa as she sounded as if she was looking forward to this camping trip. "But, I wonder how many people would end up going. I mean, the place is filled with a bunch of Grimm, which is dangerous even though a professor is coming."
"Yea, but we'll have to trust our professor's judgment. If anything happens, I'm sure that we can all handle it. And if it's too dangerous, then we'll escape."
"Well, I guess you're right about that. Sandra, did you end up signing the slip?"
Alyssa asked turning her attention over towards Sandra who was lying in her bed while making it so that her tent was blocking their view of her. Alyssa gave a somewhat complex look as she wasn't able to guess what feelings were going through her partner in this instance. Not knowing what else do to, the blonde-haired girl made a more resolute look on her face and hopped from the top bunk.
Having landed in front of Sandra's bottom bunk, Alyssa placed her hand on the red tent, then started moving it so that she could get a clearer view of her partner. Upon doing that, she noticed that Sandra was lying down facing the wall as headphones were on her head. And Alyssa could vaguely hear rock music originating from them.
"Hey, Sandra."
Alyssa reached her hand out, then poked Sandra's arm catching her attention as she flinched.
Reacting to that, Sandra leaned up from off the bed, then paused her music and took off her headphones.
"What?"
Sandra asked in an almost impassive tone, not sounding mad.
"We were talking about the camping trip and I was wondering if you signed the slip already."
Alyssa replied as Sandra picked up the slip resting on top of her school books that were placed right in front of her too, then showed it to her.
Because of that, Alyssa could see that Sandra did sign the entire thing.
"As you can see, I signed everything. So, can I go back to what I was doing?"
Sandra asked, already preparing to put back on her headphones. But, before she could finish doing that, she was stopped as Alyssa placed a hand on them.
"Hold up for a second. Can we talk outside for a second?"
Alyssa asked, thinking that Sandra wouldn't want to talk in front of Daniel and Hunter.
Sandra thought for a second about that request, then allowed a sigh to escape from her mouth and placed them on the bed beside her.
"Fine."
Sandra replied, getting out of her bed and heading for the front door.
Instead of turning the doorknob, and then opening it, Sandra instead walked straight through the door using her semblance.
"If you think about it, her semblance is kinda broken in situations like this. I mean, she could infiltrate one of Atlas' highly classified bases without breaking a sweat."
Daniel brought up, which was something that no one in the room could disagree with.
"I'm going to try and see what's wrong with her. I can trust that neither of you would be listening to it?"
Alyssa asked turning to the sole males on the team.
"I'm not the kind of guy who would do something like that. So, you don't need to worry about that."
Daniel replied.
'I won't either.'
Hunter signed as he returned to going over his arrowheads and their condition.
Truth be told, Alyssa didn't doubt them, but she needed to hear that confirmation from them anyway. After getting their replies, the blonde-haired girl walked outside their room to talk to her partner.
After stepping outside their dorm, Alyssa looked to find Sandra leaning against the wall beside their door waiting for her. She couldn't get a clear view or read on Sandra after noticing the impassive expression that was right on her face. Seeing that she walked outside, she got from her previous position and stood in front of her partner.
"So, what did you want to talk about?"
Sandra asked, crossing her arms.
"Sandra, are you seriously alright?"
Alyssa came out and answered her question with a question.
"This again. First, Hunter, and now you," Sandra said not trying to sound differently. "Alyssa, I'm fine."
"Sandra, you've been acting vacant and barely said anything the entire day. And that's not like you."
Alyssa stated.
"Not like me," Sandra seemed to be lightly amused after hearing that, but it sounded almost dry as she shrugged her shoulders. "Come on, Alyssa. You've only known me for about over a month, and I doubt that is enough time to be able to fully understand everything about someone. I mean, can you say that you can understand our leader sometimes?"
Alyssa couldn't deny Sandra's words, since there were some things that about Daniel that he hadn't shared with them all yet. But, considering that he once told them that someone tried killing once, she already realized that it'd be difficult for anyone to talk about.
"It's not about knowing about someone's past alone. I might not know everything about Daniel's past, but I know he's a good person. He's nonchalant and snarks a lot, but could tell from that moment when we all fought against that Behemoth that's he's a good leader. Hunter's timid, but he wouldn't abandon people in danger. And I don't need to know about your past to know you're not the kind of person who you were trying to act like that first time we met in the Emerald Forest."
Alyssa started going back to that first time that they met in the Emerald Forest, where she pierced an Ursa using her Gae Bulg. And despite saying that she wanted to leave before anything happened, Sandra rushed in to save Ruby from the Nevermore.
"…."
Sandra didn't react or say anything at all.
Alyssa could see that there was something that Sandra was holding back, and that was the cause of her sudden change in demeanor. At that moment, Alyssa started thinking back to all the things she and Sandra talked about since the first time the two started talking to each other in private. And there was one thing that came to mind as a light breath escaped from her mouth.
"Sandra, if you don't want to go there, then we can end it here. But, I have to ask."
"Ask what?"
"Does this have something to do with your family?"
Sandra's eyes widened ever so slightly, but her partner could see that question did spark a reaction of some kind from the purple-haired girl.
"…that's," for the first time, Sandra looked a little meek almost a lot like what she was like as a child, but then she snapped back. "Thanks for the concern. And for giving me the chance to opt-out of talking about it. But, that's not something that I can talk about right now…or ever. I'm going back to my bed to study."
Nothing else left her mouth as Sandra walked through their room door, apparently returning to her bed, and continue what she was doing before. Alyssa was left outside in the halls as she was thinking about what Sandra's reaction to that was.
"She must've not have had a good life."
Alyssa surmised to herself, not knowing what else to say at that moment.
The only thing that she could do was return to their dorm room, which was silent without a single word being heard from Sandra. Daniel didn't speak a single word about the matter, but he could tell that it didn't go in the direction that Alyssa wanted it to. But, there wasn't a single comment from either of them, causing him to wonder what direction this was going to lead.
Meanwhile, at night, at Beacon Tower, which was the most notable location in Beacon Academy. It was also the location, where the Cross Continental Transmit System was located as well at the bottom, which allows Vale, and the other kingdoms to communicate with each other. At the top floor, Ozpin's office, where numerous clockworks mechanisms could be seen through the see-through walls and floors.
"…."
Ozpin was sitting there looking through some files on a holographic screen coming from his desk, while he took sips from his mug.
Seconds later, a ding was heard from the elevator, causing him to look right up from his desk because it could be seen from where he sat. It opened up revealing Glynda Goodwitch, the Combat Instructor walking outside of the elevator as soon as it opened.
"Hello, Glynda. Is there anything that you need?"
Ozpin asked placing his mug on the desk.
"I simply wanted to talk about the little incursion that he had planned for his class this weekend."
Glynda replied, approaching the Headmaster's desk.
"Do you doubt, Peter?"
"Of course not. I simply want to ensure that our students' lives aren't put in danger."
Glynda, at that moment, was showing a good deal of compassion toward her students, which was something that Ozpin shared too.
"I don't doubt that Peter would be careless in this situation with his students. And he put a lot of thought and effort into planning this camping trip for the students. So, I trust that it'll be a good experience for them all."
Glynda nodded her head lightly in agreement after hearing those words from the Headmaster, who had never led any of them astray.
"Well, that was all that I needed to talk about. If there's anything else, then I'll…."
"There is one more thing before you leave. What do you think about Miss Skye's relationship with her teammates and friends has been going since the first day?"
Glynda was surprised about the question at first, but since it came from the Headmaster, she began to think about it.
"At first, Sandra had a rough start in developing some close ties with the other students and her teammates. But, I was surprised to see that she has started acclimating well to the new school environment here and started showing more closeness with the members of her team. After reading the reports we received from both Oscuro and Shade Academy, I almost doubted she could form a bond with anyone here."
"Yes, it appears as if the people who she became teamed up with have had a good effect on her," Ozpin said genuinely before thinking about what he'd seen before. As walked up to Sandra, he noticed that instead of dropping her coffee cup, it looked as if it phased through her hand. "But, it looks as if she's struggling to realize if the bonds she has formed is real or not."
"During her time at Oscuro and Shade Academy, she didn't attempt to make friends with anyone, and it looked as if she tried ensuring no one approached her. The same thing couldn't be said about her time at Oscuro Academy, where it looked as if she was making some friends. But, at some point, she shut off everyone else."
"For Humans and Faunus, it's difficult for anyone not to form connections with each other growing up, whether all those bonds are good or bad. And I don't doubt that Miss Skye would be able to do that here."
Ozpin said showing no concern or worries about Sandra being able to have a normal school life.
"I know, but it must be difficult for her. I read the report, and the Headmaster at Oscuro Academy mentioned that the Huntsmen found a twelve-year-old Sandra was found Coquina. And it appeared as if she was alone without a single person with her at the same. Despite several inquiries, she didn't mention a single thing about who she was traveling with or who her parents were. So, it was assumed that she had been traveling alone at some point."
That report was something that Ozpin read too after receiving her transcripts stating Sandra wanted to enroll into Beacon Academy.
"Well, all we can do is hope that her teammates can remove that feeling from Sandra's heart."
Ozpin said smiling as he drank from his coffee mug, with Glynda noting it was the last that of this conversation as she entered the elevator. All the teachers could do was teach and advise their students, but it was the members of their team who would have a long-term effect on them. That, of course, was the nature of placing them all on teams with each other.
A/N: Well, this is the end of the next chapter of RWBY – Team DUSK, in this one, was more focused on Sandra, who is thinking about her experiences in Vale compared to Vacuo. More about Sandra's past was also revealed including her mother, who was the leader of their nomadic tribe. There was also the debut of the entire Team CFVY, revealing Fox and Yatsuhashi. Their team leader, Coco is still making advances at Sandra, with the latter deciding to perform in front of the others.
It was also revealed that Professor Port is planning a camping trip for his class over the weekend inside of the Emerald Forest. In the end, Ozpin, who talked to Sandra in the morning, and Glynda are somewhat aware of Sandra's situation back at Vacuo.
