Hello and Welcome back to Hell! Last time, Harry was getting into his classes and did pretty well in them. He also became the Seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. He, Ron, and Hermione also had a close encounter with the three-headed dog, Fluffy, which Harry tamed very well. And now here we are seeing what will happen next. But first some Q&As.
Ultrautahraptor: Thank you. Thought it would be a good touch-up since Cerberus would be Lucifer's dog and Harry is used to him. The Basilisk will be covered in Year Two. Since it's illegal to breed them in the wizarding world. They would be hard to look at since their sights can kill you or petrify you if you see them indirectly.
Jozs001: He does know about the other rings and the hierarchy. He is close to Octavia and Loona because of reasons.
Chapter 6: Weekend Visit
Charlie was on her bed reading the book, 'Hogwarts: A History' and was at the chapter where three of the four founders were in agreement to accept all wizards from Magical families, mixed-blood, or non-magic families. "So Salazar Slytherin thought that students in the school should only be from pureblood wizarding families? Sounds like a prejudiced jerk that should be around here now," Charlie remarked. "I bet he's some sort of snake given everything about him," she remarked as she looked at Owlphonse. The barn owl only hooted before nuzzling against Charlie's cheek, making her smile before she turned to look at a drawing of herself on the wall that Harry made for her when he was 5.
'Kinda gets lonely without Harry around,' she thought to herself. Her thoughts were further interrupted as she heard the cries of another owl. She placed the book on her bed and opened a window to see Harry's snowy owl flying towards the manor. "Hedwig," Charlie called out to the bird as she flew towards the Princess of Hell. The white owl landed on Charlie's bed as she approached her and scratched the bird's head and noticed the letter she was carrying. She took the letter from the owl and began to read it. A smile started to form on her face as she decided to spread the news to her family.
Lucifer was in the study as he was having some swordplay with an acquaintance of his. The tubby pig demon was average in height with a pinstriped suit and black eyes with a pencil-thin mustache while a pair of tusks stuck out from his face. "En garde, old friend," he exclaimed with a manic enthusiasm as he skillfully swung his fencing saber.
"Haha! Nothing's changed in your style, Astin," Lucifer said with a grin as the two tried to disarm the other.
"I heard your son went to a boarding school in the living world. How are his classes," Astin asked as he parried a strike from the king as Lucifer countered with a few.
"Word is spreading fast. Are the others talking about him," Lucifer asked as they were battling it out on top of his desk.
"Some. But I'm wondering how he is because I've been one of his tutors for some years now," the pig demon stated.
Before Lucifer could reply, Charlie threw the doors open with a giant grin on her face. "DAD! Harry said he made it onto the Quidditch team for Gryffindor!"
The sudden arrival of his daughter startled Lucifer and Astin thrust his blade into the king's shoulder to end the match. "That's my point, Luci," the pig chuckled. "Now, what's this about a school team?"
"It's some sort of magical sport," Charlie stated as her father stood up, unbothered by the bleeding hole in his arm.
"Did he now? Well, I knew those mortals would see his talents," Lucifer laughed as his shoulder was healing up quickly. "What sport did you say he was in again?"
"Quidditch, Dad. I think it's like the wizard version of soccer," Charlie said.
"You mean futbol," Astin said as he corrected the term.
"No, I mean soccer. I don't think they play Football in Europe," Charlie argued.
"They don't. Astin means that soccer in some countries in the mortal realm is called 'football', Charlie," Lucifer said. "What's his position on the team?"
"According to the letter, he says that he's the Seeker," Charlie said, still confused by the meaning as she didn't have enough knowledge of the magical sport.
Lucifer thought about that title for a bit and decided on something. "Perhaps you can visit him during his weekend and learn for yourself," Lucifer suggested. "I'm sure Dumbledore wouldn't mind a visit from you if you don't disturb everyone too much."
Hearing that, Charlie squealed in delight at the possibility of seeing her little brother. "That sounds great, Dad! I'll write back to him. No, wait! I'll surprise him instead."
"You do that. Oh, and find out when his first match is. You know your mother wouldn't want to miss his first game," Lucifer told her.
"Will do, Dad," Charlie said as she gave a two-finger salute to her father and headed off.
"They grow up so fast, don't they," Astin said as he picked up his sword. "Now how about another round?"
"Gladly. And no distractions this time," Lucifer replied as he smirked, holding up the blade he was using.
By the time the weekend came around, Harry was in his dorm room and began playing a few notes on his guitar to pass the time until it was time for breakfast.
"That's a nice looking instrument you got there, Harry. You know any songs," Seamus asked.
"Maybe a few, but probably nothing you heard before," Harry said as he continued to play a few notes. After another few minutes of practicing, Harry decided to put away his guitar and head down to the Great Hall with his friends. He knew that he would meet up with Oliver Wood then, so it would be best to get something to eat before learning about Quidditch.
When Harry met up with Ron and the others, he helped himself to some food before hearing Hedwig flying in and dropping a letter next to his bowl. Opening it up, Harry gave a startled gasp as the paper spontaneously combusted and the flames swirled around, catching everyone's attention. "Here I am! The best big sister in the world," Charlie sang as she appeared out of the flames when they vanished, standing on top of the table twirling once with her arms out as small fireworks went off behind her.
With the dramatic entrance and fireworks display, the entire Great Hall was silent until one person spoke up. "Hey, best sister in the world. You're standing in my oatmeal," Harry said as he pointed a finger at her right foot, which was in part of his breakfast. Charlie made a sound of disgust before taking her foot out and wiping it off before sitting across her younger brother. "What are you doing here, Charlie?"
"Can't a big sister visit her baby brother on the weekend," Charlie said, giving him the sad puppy eyes. "You are off on a weekend, right?"
"So you stuffed yourself in a letter just to visit me?" Harry questioned.
"Don't be silly. I cast a spell on the seal so I could appear when it was broken," the Princess of Hell explained.
"Maybe not the best way to come for a visit," Harry told his sister.
"Why's that," Charlie asked as the Prince of Hell pointed at the many teachers that were staring at her. "Oh yeah… Maybe I should have sent a note ahead of time," she muttered as she smiled sheepishly.
"Who is that girl talking to Magne? She's clearly too old to be a student," Snape asked the teachers and Hagrid, who were all looking at the Gryffindor table.
"Oh, that's Harry's older sister, Charlotte Magne. She likes going by Charlie," the half-giant explained.
"How did she even accomplish that sort of entrance? The school has a charm to prevent Apparition onto the property," McGonagall questioned.
"Her parents are quite the accomplished magic-users," Dumbledore said with an amused smile and a twinkle in his eyes. "It would only make sense that she would be able to do things beyond the magic of the school. Besides, Hogwarts itself isn't seeing her as a threat."
"Headmaster, I must insist she should be removed. I can sense a form of dark magic seeping off of her. Not to mention she made a scene," Snape objected.
"Severus, her father and I have known one another for quite some time. If she were to cause such mischief, I will gladly remove her myself," Dumbledore remarked as he remembered the time in his youth when Lucifer came to him congratulating him on his battle with Grindelwald. "I'm sure she is here for a valid reason."
"I did tell Harry to mention his new position as Seeker to his family," Hagrid remarked. "Charlie probably wanted to know more in person."
"That still doesn't mean she can pop in unannounced like she did," Snape said.
"Oh, she's definitely harmless enough," Professor Flitwick replied. "Here she comes now."
Walking toward the staff table, Charlie approached Professor Dumbledore and apologized for her sudden appearance. "Headmaster, Professors, I'm sorry about that. I just wanted to visit my brother after he told me about the Gryffindor Quidditch team."
"It's alright, my child. You were quite curious and wanted to see for yourself. You can stay until classes begin again on Monday," Dumbledore said. "Although, I advise you next time to send a letter to me first before you pop up."
"I will. Thank you for understanding," Charlie bowed in respect. "I also wanted to see Harry's first game myself."
"Well, that's not for a while. The first Quidditch game isn't until November," Dumbledore said with a chuckle.
"Mister Magne is scheduled to meet with one of his upperclassmen and a member of his house team later to learn about the game for himself," Professor McGonagall told Charlie. "You're free to join him as long as you're careful around the grounds."
"I'll keep an eye on her when I can," Hagrid offered.
"Thank you, Hagrid," Dumbledore replied before turning back to Charlie. "Why not enjoy breakfast with your brother and his friends," he suggested.
"Sure thing," Charlie said with a big grin before heading over to the Gryffindor Table again. As she did, she overheard several of the students in the Great Hall.
"Oh wow, she's cute."
"Is that really Magne's sister? She looks nothing like him."
"Maybe one of them's adopted?"
"Is she a half-breed or something? She apparated even with a school charm over it."
"So Harry, you want to introduce us to your sister," Fred and George asked in unison.
"She's way out of your league," Harry said as he can imagine their dad hovering at all the students that were making goo-goo eyes at her. "Besides, she's not dating anyone at the moment since her breakup with her boyfriend. The bastard."
Soon, Charlie sat down at Harry's table and greeted everyone. "Hi there! I'm Charlie, Harry's sister. Nice to meet you."
"Hello," Ron said with his mouth full of bread but swallowed before speaking more. "I'm Ron Weasley. These are my brothers, Fred and George," he introduced.
"I remember all of you from King's Cross," Charlie recalled as the redhead family popped in her memories.
"We actually have a brother named Charlie," Fred brought up.
"He's in Romania last we heard. He studies and wrangles dragons," said George.
As Charlie's eyes went wide at the idea of human wizards handling dragons, she heard somebody clear their throat and she turned to look at the bushy-haired girl nearby. "I'm Hermione Granger. It's nice to meet you," the studious witch greeted.
"Pleasure's all mine," Charlie said as she shook her hand. "So you're the top A student my baby brother told me about. You two could rival one another."
"I figured. However, I think I can handle him in Magical History. It seems to be his weakest subject," Hermione commented.
"Wait, what," Charlie turned her head to Harry as she gave him a look their mom gave them when they used to draw on the walls at home.
"Hey, it's hard to pay attention to the ghost that teaches it," Harry muttered.
"Yeah, it's true. The class is so boring and the teacher doesn't put too much effort into it," Ron said, defending Harry's actions while the other Gryffindors nodded in agreement.
"Alright, since your friends think the same, I'll let it slide. But please do get a decent grade since you don't want mom and dad to find out," she told Harry as an image of both parents' disappointed looks were on him.
'She had to go and bring that up,' Harry thought to himself as the image of both his parents with looks of disappointment were enough to scare him more than their anger. "I'll try, but no promises," he said while eating some of his breakfast.
After eating, Oliver Wood spotted Harry as he walked up to him. "Ready for your Quidditch lesson, Harry," Oliver asked as he saw Harry with his sister. "And who are you?"
"Wood, this is my sister. She's visiting the weekend," Harry introduces her. "Charlie, this is Oliver Wood, he's the Quidditch captain of the Gryffindor team."
"Nice to meet you. I was curious because Harry told me about the team he was on and wanted to know more," Charlie greeted.
"There are a few books you could have gotten if you had known ahead of time," Hermione stated.
"That's true, but the real thing can be different from what's in a book," Ron argued.
"Got to give the young Weasley some credit. You can come along, and see for yourself," Wood said to Charlie as he led both of the Magne siblings to a trunk. "Mind carrying this end, Harry," the captain asked while he picked up a small club of sorts.
"Not a problem," Harry said as he helped carry the trunk. As he did, he thought that he felt some shaking from within.
As Harry and Charlie walked out toward the Quidditch pitch, Oliver began to explain the rules a bit more. "Quidditch is easy enough to understand. There are seven players on each team. Three Chasers, two Beaters, one Keeper, and a Seeker," Wood explained as he and Harry set down the trunk. "That's you," he said before opening it up, revealing a few types of balls. Two of them were shaking against restraints of sorts while he picked up the one in the center. "There are three kinds of balls. This one's called the 'Quaffle'," Wood said as he tossed the red leather-covered ball with several indents around it to Harry.
"Must be designed that way to hold it better," Charlie noted as she looked at the Quaffle, noting it was the same size as a soccer ball.
"Good guess. Now, the Chasers handle the Quaffle and try to get it through one of those three hoops," Wood said as he pointed out three hoops on large poles, each at different heights at one end of the pitch in the distance. "The Keeper, that's me, defends the hoops."
"So it is like some flying wizard version of soccer," Charlie remarked. "I guess the different heights are to make it tricker and score different points."
Oliver was confused at the mention of before Harry explained. "Soccer's a Muggle sport where players try to get a ball into a net on the ground without using their hands. Only the goalie is allowed to use them. It's also why the sport is called 'football' in most areas around the world."
"Sounds interesting enough," Wood remarked. "But the hoops don't have different scores. Each is normally worth 10 points."
"Okay. But what are those," Charlie replied before she pointed to the two dark-colored balls that were fussing around.
"You better take this," Wood told Charlie as he handed her a small bat. Charlie did so as Wood unlocked the restraints to one of the balls as it flew in the air and moved around until it went charging at the three. Acting on instinct, Harry took the bat from Charlie and slammed it into the ball like a baseball player. The ball went flying the other way and it passed between the raised swords of a statue. "Not bad, Magne. You'd make a fair Beater," Oliver said as he watched the ball soar through the air.
Charlie then saw the ball return the same way it came and grabbed the bat from Harry, swinging it hard and knocking the ball toward the Quidditch pitch with ease. Watching it go just as far and Harry hit it, Oliver whistled at the way Charlie handled herself. "Is it enchanted to attack people," Charlie questioned before the ball came flying back, but Wood dove onto it and kept it forced to the ground.
The ball was growling like an animal as it tried to get out of Wood's hands, but he was able to keep it on the ground enough so that he could lock it back up in the trunk. "What was that," Harry asked.
"Bludger. Nasty little buggers. They try to knock you off your broom. The Beaters are supposed to defend their teammates by, well, beating them away with their bats. You can even knock them into the other team," Wood explained. "Your sister could try out for a professional team. She'd definitely make a good Beater herself."
"Thanks, but no thanks," Charlie politely declined. "I have a lot of stuff at home to handle."
"Just a thought," Wood said. "Back to our lesson. You, Harry, are a Seeker. There's only one ball you need to worry about," he stated as he kneeled down to the trunk and opened up the Hogwarts emblem on the top half, revealing it to be a compartment for a small golden sphere." This... is the Golden Snitch, and it's the most important ball of the lot," the Gryffindor captain said, placing the ball in Harry's hand.
"I like this one," Harry said, amazed at the details of the ball.
"Yeah, it's really pretty," Charlie agreed.
"You may like it now, but it's very hard to catch because it's so fast and difficult to see. It's the Seeker's job to catch it. You've got to weave in and out of the Chasers, Beaters, Bludgers, and Quaffle to get it before the other team's Seeker, because whichever Seeker catches the Snitch wins his team an extra hundred and fifty points, so they nearly always win. That's why Seekers get fouled so much. A game of Quidditch only ends when the Snitch is caught, so it can go on for ages," Wood explained to both of the Morningstar Siblings.
"How long exactly," Charlie asked.
"The longest match ever recorded went on for 6 months before the Snitch was captured," Wood explained as Harry and Charlie started to imagine the match. "If you want to know more about the game, I think there's a few copies of 'Quidditch Through The Ages' in the library."
'Poor fuckers must have had kidney damage if they didn't allow bathroom breaks,' both Harry and Charlie thought.
"So is there any type of broomstick that you recommend? What's the fastest," Charlie asked.
"I would go for one of the Nimbus models. I know the Nimbus 2000 came out recently," Oliver voiced as he shared his opinion.
"Nimbus 2000," Harry muttered as he remembered the time he went shopping in Diagon Alley and saw many children looking at the display window. Maybe he can ask his parents or Charlie to go to Diagon Alley and get a model. They might be expensive, but it's the least they could do under his family account.
Harry's thoughts were soon stopped when he felt the Snitch in his hands move around. Opening his palm, he watched the ball reveal wings similar to an insect before it began to zip around. "Wow, you weren't kidding when you said it was fast," Charlie remarked before using some of her own magical ability to guide the Snitch back to the trunk by creating small and harmless explosions like firecrackers.
"Yup. But Harry won't be able to use magic on the Snitch. No one is allowed to use magic on the players, brooms, spectators, or any of the four balls in Quidditch," Wood told them both as he closed the compartment, then the trunk. "But I expect you to practice before our first match."
"I'll make sure to do that," Harry said.
"Leave the broom to me," Charlie sang out. "Now if you'll excuse me, I think I'll go check the library." Turning to head toward the castle, Charlie noticed somebody by one of the nearby tower windows as she approached. "Checking up on me? Or did you just want to see how Harry is taking an interest in Quidditch, Professor?"
Professor McGonagall only looked at Charlie while still in cat form, then jumped off the ledge and landed gracefully before turning back into her normal self. "You would be correct on both counts, Miss Magne," McGonagall responded. "I take it that the introduction to the equipment and player roles went well?"
"Yup! I hope that the Bludger didn't hit anything when Harry kept it from smashing my face in," Charlie said.
"There was no damage," McGonagall assured. "Now, where are you off to?"
"I wanted to check out the library because Oliver said there was a book that could help me and Harry learn more about Quidditch," the Princess of Hell answered. "Might as well look at some other titles that sound interesting."
"Then you may help yourself. I do advise that you still keep out of the restricted section," McGonagall told Charlie. "Oh, and Hagrid has offered to watch after you for the night," she added before heading back inside the school. "And you don't need to worry about Harry's broom. I've arranged for something already."
Smiling at the Transfiguration Professor, Charlie continued to the library to read up on Quidditch and some other books on the Wizarding World.
After reading a figurative ton of books in the library, Charlie went to Hagrid's Hut for the night while having a cup of tea and being a cuddle buddy to Fang. "Who's a good boy? You are, yes you are."
Watching the scene, Hagrid chuckled as Fang enjoyed Charlie's company. "I take it you're a real animal lover, Charlie," Hagrid said, watching his Boarhound/Great Dane mix slobber all over the Princess of Hell.
"I used to play with Kirby the same way," Charlie told the half-giant. "He's a lot bigger and with more heads, though."
"More heads you say? Wouldn't happen to have three now, would it," Hagrid asked as Charlie gave a nod. "Well, I do have one in the castle. Might not be as big as yours, but Fluffy's a good lad."
Hearing the name of the three-headed dog, Charlie couldn't help but think the beast had fluffy fur that was soft to the touch. "So, is he guarding something? Kirby protects our house most of the time," Charlie asked, explaining what the Morningstar family dog does at home.
"That's private. Dumbledore needed him to keep intruders at bay," Hagrid said, but realized what he spilled. "I shouldn't have said that. I shouldn't have said that," he muttered.
"So he is protecting something. Come on, what is it? I promise I won't tell a soul," Charlie asked, getting curious.
"Listen here, Charlie. I swore what Fluffy is guarding is between me, Dumbledore, and the staff at Hogwarts. The fewer people that know, the better," Hagrid stated, then chose to keep himself quiet by shoving a large cookie into his mouth.
Charlie pouted, puffing her cheeks out like a child. "Fine," she groaned, eating half of a cookie in one big bite.
"Oh, don't be that way. You get to have another day with your brother tomorrow. And the both of you can have a cup of tea here before you go on back to Hell," Hagrid said to the demon princess. "So Cerberus's real name is Kirby?"
"No, it's Cerberus. I call him Kirby because some other countries like Japan pronounce it as Kerberos," Charlie explained. "Kirby's just such a cute little name for him."
Seeing Charlie cheering up, Hagrid smiled. "Well, I've got some business to take care of near the forest. You stay here with Fang," he told the princess as he stood up and grabbed a lantern.
"You sure you don't need some help," Charlie asked.
"Nah, I'll only be out for a minute. Besides, I wouldn't want you to be gobbled up by something. Otherwise, yer folks will be after me personally," Hagrid replied.
"I can handle myself. I won't wander off if that's what you're thinking," Charlie said feeling confident about herself. "Besides, I think I'm more terrifying than what's out there."
"Alright. You'll just come along no matter how many times I say no. Just stay close to me and Fang," Hagrid said as he lifted his lantern and headed to the forest with Fang and Charlie following close by.
"Why do you need to enter this forest in the first place," Charlie asked as she was trailing behind.
"Something I need to check up on," Hagrid assured her as they kept walking. A few miles away from them, they stopped at something gruesome that made him turn pale and Charlie wanting to cry. "It can't be…"
"Is that what I think it is," Charlie asked as her eyes started to water.
In front of the groundskeeper and princess was a sight that disturbed them both. A few feet away from them was a dead unicorn with its baby desperately trying to get its mother to stand up. "Who could have done this," Hagrid questioned as he saw the blood on the unicorn's corpse and what looked like handprints.
Charlie slowly approached the unicorn baby, seeing the different hair color from its mother. Earlier, she read that unicorns were white when fully grown, but started as a gold color in their first two years of life. The foal she saw was silver like the blood that covered the mother's body, which meant it was between two and seven years old. "Hey there," Charlie said to the unicorn's child. "I won't hurt you. I just wanted to see if you're okay," she reassured as she approached the young unicorn.
"Normally unicorns trust witches more, but the young ones are a bit more carefree," Hagrid told Charlie. "No matter their age, they deserve respect. Whoever did this had none for the mother," he added.
Charlie sadly nodded in reply to Hagrid, but kept her eyes on the young unicorn, offering her open hand to it as a sign of good faith. The baby slowly approached and soon nuzzled against Charlie's hand. Charlie petted the poor beast as she tried to smile to comfort it, knowing its mother was a few feet from them. "Why kill something so pure?"
"I don't have a clue," Hagrid said as he examined the body. "But whoever or whatever did this was drinking its blood," he said as he examined the wound on the mother's neck.
"The blood," Charlie questioned. "It must have magic properties like the hair and horns," Charlie guessed, still being new to the magic world of humans and wizardkind.
"I better report this ter Professor Dumbledore. If there is one person who knows the answers, it's him," Hagrid stated.
Charlie nodded, but still looked at the unicorn as it snuggled up closer to her. "What about the baby? I don't think my parents would want a unicorn around Hell," she questioned.
"Don't worry. I can take the baby to the Care for Magical Creatures class. Let the fifth-year class help take care of the little one," the half-giant told Charlie. "Come on, let's get going."
"Okay," Charlie said as she walked with the young unicorn. "We'll make sure you're taken care of," she told the magical equine, who tearfully looked back at the mother unicorn with Charlie. The princess ran her fingers through the mane of the young unicorn to comfort it as she did with Harry as a baby, then had it follow her and Hagrid out of the forest.
As they were leaving, a series of footsteps approached the dead unicorn. A centaur with white-blond hair saw the fallen creature and looked over at the ones leaving the forest. "A dreadful shame, but your child will be taken care of," Firenze said to the unicorn, trusting Rubeus Hagrid with bringing the foal to safety. "However, the girl that consoled them is most unusual," he muttered to himself. "She has a kind heart, but her power comes from fire and brimstone. Very unusual." He pondered what he noticed and looked up to the night sky to read the stars. As he stared into space, the centaur nodded as he got his answer. "She is to be trusted as well. She has helped care for Harry Potter and he accepts her family as his own. We shall meet in person, Harry Morningstar. Same to your sister, Charlotte Morningstar. But not until late spring," he said to himself before giving the fallen unicorn the respect it deserved.
The next morning, Charlie hardly slept from what happened last night after she and Hagrid returned from the Forbidden Forest. She was so worried about the unicorn foal that she snuck into the stable it was put in to make sure it was okay with the older unicorns. Luckily for her, she saw that one of the adults was caring for the young one as it was her own. Even with that relief, Charlie's thoughts through the night were plagued by the possible threats that could have killed the mother unicorn.
"Charlie," Harry said as he snapped his fingers in front of his sister as Sam popped his head out of Harry's robes. "What's with you? You look like you haven't slept at all last night."
"I couldn't," Charlie yawned. "Went into the forest to help Hagrid and found a dead unicorn with its blood drained. The baby was still alive and we took it to the stables, but I couldn't shake that feeling."
"Better have some of this then," Harry offered his sister some coffee.
Charlie thanked him as she took the cup, taking a sip. Once the liquid touched her lips, she was now wide awake. "Wow, that is some strong stuff!"
"I made it the way you like it, three sugars with cream," Harry told her as Sam slithered out to wrap himself around Charles's arm.
This made Charlie smile as she stroked a finger on the horned serpent's head. "Been keeping Harry out of trouble?"
"He might have gotten into some trouble by accident if they were caught by that man with the cat," Sam explained.
"Oh? So you nearly got into trouble," Charlie asked curiously.
Harry shushed her as he made sure no one was around getting curious. "The staircases move around when they want to. You've seen that earlier. And there's a corridor up on the third floor that's forbidden. Filch is a really nasty bastard for some reason or another and would drag me and the others, not giving ourselves a chance to explain ourselves," he whispered low enough to let her hear. "We'll talk more somewhere that's more private."
"Alright, then let's go," Charlie said as she took her brother by the arm somewhere they could talk.
"Hey! Charlie, where are you taking me?" Harry said as he was being dragged.
"Like I said, somewhere more private. Will your common room do?" she asked him as Harry was still being dragged.
"Sam, do something," Harry commanded his snake as it just shook its head while still wrapped on Charlie's arm. "Traitor."
After Harry said the password of the week to the portrait guarding the dorm entrance, Charlie threw her brother into one of the chairs of the Gryffindor common room as she stood in front of him with arms crossed. "Okay, start explaining. And don't lie, I'll know."
Seeing her give him that big sisterly glare, Harry cracked. "Like I said. Hermione, Ron, and I were there by accident and saw Filch's cat at the entrance and couldn't go back the way we came. So we ran into a room to hide until he left, but it turns out that room had a giant three-headed dog that was smaller than Cerberus."
"Wait, you met Fluffy," Charlie asked.
"Yeah, he's not so bad if-" Harry stopped himself as he noticed what she said. "Hang on, how did you know his name is Fluffy?"
Charlie avoided his eye contact as she looked on the side. "Somewhere."
"Charlie," Harry said, giving her the same glare.
"Okay. Okay, he's Hagrid's dog," Charlie told him. "He told me he was guarding something. But that's all I know."
"Guarding something? So Hermione was right," Harry muttered as he realized something. "Wait a moment. Charlie, do you remember on my birthday we were at Gringotts and Hagrid took something?"
"Yeah, why," she asked as Harry held up his hand and went upstairs to get the paper from a few days ago. Harry pointed to the article as it said that someone broke into the vault. "Wait, whatever is in the vault…"
"Is in the castle and Fluffy is guarding it," Harry finished for her. "Did Hagrid say anything else?"
"No. He forced himself not to say another word and I don't think he'll say more," Charlie told him.
"Well, that sucks. The one who broke into the bank must know it's here. Maybe they're among us," Harry hypothesized.
"You might be right, but let's enjoy today," she told him. "So, this is the common room. Got to say, it's cozy," Charlie remarked, looking around at the tapestry and paintings that moved.
"I think the students from Hufflepuff said they have the coziest common room and I believe it," Harry told her. "The least comfy is…"
"Slytherin," they both said in unison.
"It's like that house is made to be a torture chamber," Charlie wondered how students could stand it.
"Well, their dorm is in the dungeon from what I heard," Harry said. "I think it even goes under the lake."
"Oh hey, what's this," Charlie asked as she saw a pack of Chocolate Frogs on a nearby table.
Seeing what she was referring to, Harry explained. "Oh, I think that's one of the twins' Chocolate Frogs. They're magically animated to move like real frogs and they have these trading cards of famous wizards and witches with them."
"Ooh, I wanna see what this one is," Charlie said as she opened the box. When she did, the frog hopped out and began to jump around the room. "Wow. You weren't kidding about them being animated," the princess said before Samael struck, eating the wizarding treat in one bite. "Now, who's on the card?"
"Oh, I forgot to mention. The picture disappears. Ron says they move like the magic portraits do," Harry said, remembering his first Chocolate Frog on the Hogwarts Express.
Charlie nodded before she took the card out of the box and saw it was one of Godric Gryffindor, one of the four founders of Hogwarts. "Wow! I got Gryffindor," Charlie said as she showed Harry.
"Aw man, that one was mine," whined Fred as he entered the common room with his brothers.
"No, it isn't. It's mine," George responded.
"Didn't you just get more at Hogsmeade anyway," Ron questioned, looking at the boxes of Chocolate Frogs in the twins' hands.
"No," they both said in unison, hiding the boxes from sight.
"Mind if I keep this one then," Charlie asked the twins.
"You can keep it, I have three of him," Fred said.
"I have four. You can have another one," George said, handing her a new box.
"You can have one of mine too," Fred added as he tossed the box in the air, letting Samael catch it for Charlie.
With both boxes in her hands, Charlie opened them up and made sure to catch the first frog to give to Harry. After the Magne Siblings enjoyed their treats, Charlie checked the cards she got. "Oh hey, look. It's Mister Ollivander," the princess showed her brother.
"I never knew he was on a card," Harry said before checking the second card his sister got. "Newt Scamander."
"I only have one of him. He's the author of 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'. I heard that he got into some stuff in New York before he wrote the book," Ron told his best friend.
"What kind of stuff," Charlie asked.
"Something about losing some magical creatures in the city and needing to get them back, I think," Ron explained. "He used to be in Hufflepuff here as a student."
"That's amazing," Charlie said, taking all three cards and stuffing them in her pocket. "I'll be keeping them safe and sound when I get back home."
"If you like the Chocolate Frogs, you should try Bertie Botts' Every Flavor Beans," Harry suggested as he saw the box of candy in Ron's hand, hiding a snicker as he wanted to see his sister's reaction to some of the more gross flavors.
"Why does that sound like I'm going to regret it later," Charlie asked as she was handed a few beans. Taking one into her mouth, she liked the one she picked. "Mmm~ Candy apple." But when she took another one, this time it made her face turn green and she spat it out. "Ugh! Sauerkraut," she exclaimed, gagging at the taste. "That is every flavor."
While the boys laughed, the group soon heard somebody apparently knocking on the entrance. Opening the door, Harry saw it was Neville Longbottom and let him inside. "Forgot the password again?"
"Yeah," Neville sighed. "Thanks again for getting my Remembrall back for me, Harry."
"It was nothing. Didn't want that overgrown ferret messing with your stuff," Harry told Neville. "How's your wrist?"
"It's doing better," Neville said.
"Wait, you mean that Draco kid from the shop in Diagon Alley? Doesn't he have anything better to do than annoy you guys," Charlie asked.
The Gryffindor boys all scratched their heads as they thought of something Draco could do besides bother anyone, but nothing came to mind. "Nope."
"I'm going to teach that kid some proper manners," Charlie said as she was ready to find Malfoy, only to be halted by everyone.
"Don't waste your time on him. He'll just keep being a jerk," Ron said.
"Well, we can always just prank him," Fred and George said at the same time, holding up a joke shop bag. "Been wanting to test out our new product on someone and I think we found our guinea pig."
"What do you have in mind," Harry asked the Weasley twins, who gave toothy grins as they chuckled.
As everyone was having lunch at the Great Hall. Both Fred and Geroge came back with toothy grins on their faces. "The deed has been done," Fred said as he took a seat next to his brother.
"Finest work yet, don't you think, Freddy," George asked his twin.
"The finest you've done, George," Fred complimented his twin. "Now if the product works like a charm, that blonde brat should be screaming in here right… about… now."
Just as he timed it, Malfoy came screaming into the Great Hall as his hair went from a greasy slick back to a military buzz cut. Nearly every student in the Hall was laughing at the first-year Slytherin. "Once I know who did this, you'll pay! Wait until my father hears about this," Draco shouted.
"Really? I think he'd love it if you went to wizard military school, Private Malfoy," Harry joked with a mock salute.
"Did you do this, Mange!?" Malfoy yelled before marching out of the Great Hall, bringing Professor Snape with him when he came back. "Magne did this to me, Professor," the blond boy told the Potions master.
Snape gave Harry a dirty look as he stepped toward the boy. As he looked at him, Charlie stood up and protectively got in front of him. "My brother didn't do this," she stated.
"It is sweet of you to protect a sibling. However, he must be punished for his actions," Snape said as he looked at Harry. "A week of detention should do the trick."
"How can you give him detention if I was with him the entire time," Charlie asked.
Snape stared at Charlie as if trying to read her mind for anything he could find, but she only met his stare with her own. The staring contest came to an end when Snape gave a sigh. "Fine. I'll admit your brother is likely innocent. But he's still trouble for my student."
"Normally because he deserves it for being a little bitch boy," Harry said, earning a glare from Snape.
"5 points taken from Gryffindor for foul language, Mister Magne."
"I regret nothing. He is one," Harry stated.
"Arrogant. Just like your father," Snape said as his lip curled.
"Hey," Charlie said as she jabbed a finger into Snape as her eyes started to change to that of her full demon form. With red sclera, yellow eyes, and slit pupils staring at Snape, Charlie spoke again. "Don't ever badmouth our family. I don't care what you have against Harry's birth parents, but you do not insult my brother in front of me, our mom, or our dad."
Snape was taken aback by Charlie's vicious stare, but it did prove what he originally assumed about Charlie's arrival the previous day. "My apologies. I was merely talking about his birth father," Snape corrected himself.
"Like I said. I don't care what your grudge against James Potter is, but that's no excuse to take it out on Harry. He never even knew the man," Charlie stated.
Snape looked at Charlie for a few moments before having his gaze focused on Harry. "Luckily for you, you have a loving sister by your side. But if I catch you doing something out of line, you will have detention with more points taken from your house," he warned as he turned around to exit the Great Hall.
"That was amazing! I never saw anyone stand up to Snape like that before," Fred said surprised.
"You said it. We got so many detentions from him for the silliest of pranks," George added.
"It was nothing," Charlie said as she waved a hand. "I just did what needed to be done."
"Well, thanks for getting me out of trouble, Sis. Though next time, he might not be so kind," Harry spoke up.
"I don't doubt it for a second. Whatever happened between your biological father and him, it must have been very deep," Charlie said as she ate her steak with potatoes. "But let's enjoy ourselves before we go to Hagrid's later for tea and I have to leave."
"Tell Mom and Dad I said hi and I'm doing really well," Harry said before taking a bite out of his shepherd's pie.
"Speaking of your mum, we were wondering. Is she a Veela," George asked both Magne siblings.
"She's got the figure," Fred added, remembering when the Weasley family first saw Lilith at the train station.
Both of the Magne siblings chuckled at their response. "No, she's not a Veela," Charlie said, knowing of the species from the books she got from Flourish and Botts. "But I do see why you would think that," she added after taking a minute to catch her breath.
"She's not? Then what is she? There's no way she is fully human," Ron pitched in.
"If you really want to know, she's actually a demon that's been around since biblical times and is known as the Mother of Monsters," Harry sarcastically said to the Weasleys.
Blinking as they heard what Harry said, Ron looked at Fred and George before all three chuckled. "Good one, Harry. Next, you'll be saying your dad's an angel that fell from Heaven itself because he has daddy issues and rules Hell with an iron fist," Ron joked, not believing Harry's sarcastic confession.
Charlie and Harry had to hide their laughter as Ron was right yet again about Harry's adopted family. 'You have no idea.'
"Headmaster, I wish to have a word," Snape said as he entered Dumbledore's study, swiftly walking past the professor's phoenix.
"And what would you like to ask me, Severus," Dumbledore asked the potions teacher.
"It's about Magne's elder sister. I take it she's not human or fully human and you know something about it," Snape said as he approached the Headmaster. "I saw her eyes change into something unholy when she spoke to me."
"I see. Seeing as there are no other alternatives, I'll explain everything on what I know," Dumbledore said as he first waved his wand in the air to set up a privacy charm, in the case of eavesdroppers. "Tell me, Severus. Do you believe in Heaven and Hell?"
Snape's eyes squinted as to what he meant by that. "Not until I lost Lily. Why do you ask?"
"Because the night James and Lily died was also the night that Harry's adoptive mother found him and took him home. Home being Hell itself," Dumbledore explained.
This surprised Snape at what he was being told. Heaven and Hell are real. "So you're telling me that Potter was adopted by demons?"
"I am. And they are not ordinary demons. They are the highest of royal demons in Hell itself," Dumbledore told his Potions master. "Lucifer and Lilith Morningstar. The Devil and the Mother of Monsters."
I think that should do it for this chapter. Snape now knows who Harry's parents are. And if you guys are wondering. Yes, Astin is based on Gomez Addams. In fact, his name is based on John Astin from the first Addams Family tv series. Thanks again for WaterDragonMaverick for editing and helping out. Please review, Follow and Favorite this story.
