Hello sinners! Welcome back to another adventure with Harry and his friends as we go deeper into the Prisoner of Azkaban arc. I know the last chapter was hardly a change, but it will be once we progress through it. Now, let's answer some reviews.
Gamelover41592: I just thought it give an excuse for him to sneak out, but he will get be able to go to Hogsmeade legally in later chapters.
Bromega2477: Ha! Nice Fairly Oddparents references. And I can see Lucifer doing that.
Joanne Frances Tiano Cajilig: He does like movies, but let's build the suspense before the twist.
Mizzrazz72: When you say he is lack luster with his life, do you mean he is being careless with danger?
Nathair1: Well Neville will be Neville, and I have to make the buildup or else it gonna be pointless. I know I am mostly following cannon but I am changing some things around.
Anyway, Let's dive right into Hell!
Chapter 29: Defense, Maps, and Firebolt
After a night in the Great Hall, the Gryffindor students were allowed back up to their dorms. But now, the Portrait of the Fat Lady was taken down temporarily so that repairs could be made to the frame. In her place was Sir Cadogan, but nobody liked this at all since the knight kept challenging the students to duels half the time. The other half of the time, he kept making complicated passwords that hardly anyone remembered. "Can't we get somebody else," Seamus Finnegan asked Percy angrily.
"None of the other portraits wanted the job. As much as I agree with you, we must make do with what we have," Percy told the Irish teen.
But this was the least of Harry's worries because everywhere he went, teachers followed beside him to classes as an escort for safety. Even Percy went with him everywhere he went. 'For fuck's sake,' Harry thought to himself, trying to shake everyone off his tail. After Transfiguration class, Professor McGonagall spoke to Harry just as he was leaving class. "Magne, I know it's a shock but-"
"Professor, I know that Sirius Black is apparently after me," Harry interrupted as he knew what she was going to tell him. "Mr. Weasley told me about right before the school year started."
"I see," said McGonagall. "Then I should inform you that I and many others don't think it wise to have you attend Quidditch practice on the open field."
"With all due respect, Professor McGonagall, I would have to argue against that. You know as well as I do that we need to win the Quidditch House Cup," Harry told her.
Professor McGonagall tapped a finger on her chin in through. It was true that Harry was their best chance of winning, but could she risk his life for the game? "I'll allow you to continue as long as Madam Hooch keeps an eye on you, Mister Magne. We can't be too careful with Sirius Black possibly still lurking about."
"That I can agree to," Harry said before leaving the classroom.
Days passed as Harry and Ron were currently sitting in their Defense Against the Dark Arts class, waiting for their teacher to arrive. That's when suddenly, instead of Professor Lupin, Professor Snape entered the classroom and used his wand to shut all the windows. When he did, he pulled a cord that lowered a screen and summoned forth a projector. "Turn to page 394."
Looking around, Harry and his classmates did as they were told and flipped through the pages. "Excuse me, Professor Snape, why isn't Professor Lupin teaching?"
As the dark-robed wizard was about to give him an answer, Charlie busted into the class interrupting. "Sorry I'm a little late, a student from Transfiguration class asked me a complex question," she said as the Princess of Hell saw Snape was in class instead of Lupin. "Oh, Professor Snape. Are you taking over Professor Lupin's class for the day since he's out sick?"
"Somewhat," Snape told the teacher's aid. "I just asked the students to open to the lesson we'll be focusing on for today," he said as he saw Ron lazily flipping through the pages of his book. Annoyed at the slow pace, Snape waved his wand to get to the right page, which made the Weasley boy jump in surprise before noticing the topic of the page.
"Werewolves," Ron asked.
"If I may Professor Snape, we were just about to learn about Hinkypunks," Charlie told the Potions Master.
"We aren't supposed to learn about werewolves and nocturnal beasts for weeks," Hermione asked, confusing Ron as she appeared suddenly in the seat next to Harry.
"When did she get here," Ron questioned as he looked at Hermione.
"Thank you for the analysis, Miss Magne and Miss Granger. But today, we are learning about werewolves," Snape said to the girls as he made the projector move, having it showcase slides of various depictions of werewolves in art. "Now, can anyone tell me what is the difference between an Animagus and a Werewolf?" Immediately, Hermione's hand shot up. "No one? How disappointing."
Seeing this, Harry rose his hand and Snape called on him. "An Animagus can turn into an animal willingly, a werewolf has no choice but to change."
"Very good, Magne. Now tell me. Is there a cure for lycanthropy," he asked the Prince of Hell.
"None. Once a human is bitten, there's no turning back. They can't remember who they are once transformed. However, the Wolfsbane Potion helps keep their human minds," he said.
"Very good, Magne. 5 points to Gryffindor," Snape said.
"A werewolf also responds to a call of its own kind," Hermione adds, which prompted Malfoy to howl like a wolf.
After that, Charlie took Malfoy's textbook and bopped him on the head with it. "You really shouldn't mimic the howl of a werewolf, Mr. Malfoy. Or even other things such as the Wild Hunt," Charlie scolded. "If you do, you're just asking for trouble."
"What's the Wild Hunt," asked Neville.
"A story of a phantom hunter accompanied by ghosts of the night with many variations," Charlie explained. "If you want to know more, check the library at the Muggle Studies section. Jacob Grimm of the Brothers Grimm actually wrote about it and a few other things while researching folklore in Germany. But we're getting off topic. Back to big and scary barky boys," she added.
Snape rolled his eyes at Charlie's description about werewolves, but chose to ignore it and Hermione spoke up to share what she knew despite not being called on. "I expect two rolls of parchment on the difference between a Werewolf and an actual wolf and how to recognize them by Monday morning," he told the class, who all groaned. "And if you don't a point will be taken from each student who doesn't turn it in," he said.
"But sir, Quidditch is Monday," Harry told him.
"Then I suggest you write your essay very quickly," Snape said with a cold tone as he continued the lesson.
After writing his essay on werewolves, Harry turned his paper in early and had his mind on the Quidditch match.
The weather grew worse at the first match of the game. Instead of playing Slytherin like they always did, Gryffindor was playing Hufflepuff in the first game.
"Don't worry, Oliver. We'll win this with no problem at all," George told the captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team.
"Yeah, we'll do fine," Fred agreed with his twin.
Both teams got on their brooms and started to play as the weather started to get worse. Gryffindor and Hufflepuff were cheering for their respective teams, Slytherin was cheering for Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw was a house divided. The game went on for hours and the teams were giving it their all with the Gryffindor Chasers able to score point after point while Oliver Wood did his best as Keeper, blocking every shot he could reach.
As the game went on, Harry was evenly matched with the sixth-year Seeker of Hufflepuff, Cedric Diggory. They were both looking for the Snitch, but the rain and lightning were making it difficult to see where the golden sphere was. Harry zoomed around the stadium to see where the ball could have been, but it was nowhere to be found.
The Prince of Hell glanced at the stands in the stadium to see if his parents or his friends in Hell were able to visit his first game of the year, but couldn't find them. But then again, he couldn't see shit with this weather with the rainwater hitting his goggles. After a glance, Harry froze for a minute as he saw a large black dog sitting in one of the stands. The sound of small flapping wings snapped him out of his trance and saw the snitch. He could hear the sound of flapping and it soared above the clouds. Cedic wasn't far behind and saw the Prince of Hell bolt toward the sky. The two of them were side by side with one another, but Harry was a few inches closer to the tiny ball as they both ascended more into the clouds. When they did, Harry thought he saw one of the clouds become darker and shaped like the dog he noticed in the stands, shook it off as he focused on the Golden Snitch.
Harry and Cedric were neck and neck as they raced for the Snitch. Cedic was about to catch it, but the tip of his broom was struck by lightning and caught on fire. Seeing the damage to his broom, the Hufflepuff Seeker retreated out of safety while Harry kept going. Harry didn't lose sight of the prized ball and reached his hand out to grab it. His fingers lightly grazed it before he speed up and he finally caught it. With the Snitch in his hands, Harry smiled proudly at another victory for Gryffindor after a tough match against the hard-working Hufflepuff team. But his joyful victory turned sour as right in front of him was a Dementor that attacked. The demon sucked in the air and Harry felt weak once more as his grip on his broom became slack and he heard the sound of his birth mother screaming his name. The only thing the Prince of Hell could remember was him free-falling through the air, almost ready to be turned into a paste before he blacked out.
"Man, that was a nasty fall. He looks a bit peaky."
"Peaky? What did you expect? He fell over 100 feet."
"Yeah, come on. Let's see what you would look like if we tossed you off the Astronomy tower."
"Shut it, you ding-dongs. He's waking up."
Harry's vision was blurry for a moment before focusing on who was talking. Sitting up, he saw his classmates and his friends from Hell huddled right above him. Harry sat himself up as he could feel his body aching he could see that he was in the Hospital Wing on one of the beds. "Agh! That's gonna hurt in the morning," Harry muttered as he felt all his aches.
"Charlie! Harry's up!" Octavia shouted at the entrance to the hospital. Immediately, Charlie ran right in and was ready to jump at her brother, only for both Loona and Verosika to grab her before she hurt him more than he already was.
Seeing the event, Harry smiled before reaching for his glasses on the night table. "What happened?"
"Dumb question to ask, but basically you fell off your broom," Loona told him and everyone nodded in agreement.
"I meant what happened in the match," Harry asked more specifically.
"We won, mate. Even after you fell, you were still clutching the Snitch in your hand. That's some iron grip you got," Fred told him.
"Bloody brilliant, Harry. Even though those Dementors entered the field grounds," George said as the twins gain a hit to the back of their heads by both the Succubus and the heiress of the Ars Goetia.
"When you were falling, your Dad said that Headmaster of yours saved you before you hit the ground," Verosika told him. "He and your Dad were furious that those things showed up."
"Dad's here," Harry asked as he straightened himself up.
"Yeah, but he's kinda pissed at those flying curtains," Loona told him.
"Destroyed one just to set an example," Charlie added, which told Harry just how pissed Lucifer was.
"Speaking of destroyed, Harry… You see, after you fell… your broom sorta blew into the Whomping Willow and…" Ron said showing his best friend the destroyed broomstick.
Harry had a devastated look on his face when he saw the broomstick's remains. It was like he broke his leg during the match. One of his most prized possessions was nothing more than twigs and branches. "At least it wasn't me. This school would be in ruins if my mom saw me killed by the Whomping Willow. Can it be repaired?"
"We tried Harry, but not even the repairing Charm can fix it," Hermione told him.
Harry saw this news as bittersweet. His team won the match, but he was left without a broom and Oliver Wood was going to be disappointed if he couldn't get a new one soon. He wanted to win the cup in his last year and it felt like he brought the whole team down. Aside from the issues with his lack of a broom at the moment, Harry wondered where Lucifer was. If anything, it was most likely somewhere that was at least soundproof or fireproof.
"WHAT IN THE NINE CIRCLES OF HELL IS THE FUCKING MINISTRY THINKING," Lucifer yelled as he and Dumbledore were in the latter's office. With all the flames surging from Lucifer in his rage, the Headmaster of the school was grateful he fireproofed the room due to having a pet phoenix. "I KNOW FUDGE IS AN IDIOT, BUT THOSE DEMENTORS CROSSED THE LINE WHEN THEY MESSED WITH MY FAMILY!"
"Your Highness, please calm down," Dumbledore said evenly with the Devil.
"DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN, ALBUS!" The King of Hell's shouting made flames roar and woke up the portraits of the previous Headmasters and Headmistresses. "HARRY NEARLY DIED FROM FALLING 100 FEET IN THE AIR ALL BECAUSE SOME PSYCHO WANTS HIM DEAD! EVEN IMPS HAVE A BETTER MIND THAN THOSE THINGS!"
Despite all the anger Lucifer had in him, Dumbledore was still calm and collected. "Trust me when I say this, Lucifer, I don't like the Dementors near this school more than you do. Even with Black on the run."
"That's another thing, Albus," Lucifer said as he spoke normally instead of a demonic scream, but still had some venom in his tone. "You know something about Sirus Black that I don't. I'm aware his family has people in Hell, but he and Harry have some sort of connection. So it would be wise if you gave me the full story. If you don't, Lilith will hear about what happened and she will turn this castle into rubble with all her pets helping out. And trust me when I say they'll want more room to roam."
"Very well," Dumbledore said. It was bad enough that Lucifer was angry, but he saw Lilith's wrath once in his many years and would rather not see it once again. "You see…" Dumbledore started to explain Harry's connection with Black and the Devil was not pleased.
"You have got to be fucking kidding me," Lucifer said with a dark tone. "Does Harry know about this," he asked the headmaster as he simply told him no. "You know he has a right to know."
"I do. But if Harry finds out, he will look for revenge and may hunt him down," Dumbledore told him.
"You do realize I am the King of Hell, right? Seeking revenge and plotting murder is what I do best," Lucifer reminded the Headmaster. "But I'll tell him when he's home during the Chrismas Holidays," he said with a groan. "I get the feeling I'll need more to drink than usual around that point."
"All I ask is that Harry is told everything that we know and that you phrase it as such," Dumbledore requested. "All we have is what's been shared and we don't know exactly how Sirius Black's behavior has become since his imprisonment."
"I'm pretty sure 12 years in that sort of prison would make any guy crazy if he didn't have an iron will," Lucifer said in reply. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to see my children," he said, fixing his hat and seeing himself out the door.
As the Devil made his way to the Hospital Wing, he saw Harry laying in bed with Charlie sitting right next to him. "Hey, Dad," Harry said as he looked up at his father. "I got to stop being in the Hospital Wing after every game I play."
"Yes, you do," Lucifer said as he sat down next to his son. "How are you feeling, champ?"
"Physically, I'm okay. Mentally, I'll survive," Harry said to his dad. "Those damn hooded bastards caused my broom to fly into the Whomping Willow and nearly killed me."
"I know. I actually destroyed some of them," Lucifer said, but he saw Harry still look upset. "If your mother was here, she wouldn't leave your side after this whole debacle."
"She would tear the entire castle down with Sebastian, Kirby, and a bunch of her menagerie," Harry smiled as he knew his dad was trying to cheer him up. "Did you get my message about my letter to go into Hogsmeade?"
"Ah yes, that thing. I did find it, but I think it would be best to let you have it after you come home for Christmas," Lucifer told him.
"Christmas? But Dad-"
"You still need to heal and you should be with a group at all times. Your friends at school, your sister, the girls from home, any of your classmates or teachers, or whoever you know you can trust. I know me and your mother allowed you more freedom and you've enjoyed what you had to start. But until Sirus Black is captured or killed, we just want to keep you safe."
"I understand," Harry sighed as he wished he could have gone to Hogsmeade sooner. But he couldn't argue with his dad on this one. "I just really wanted to go."
"Well, I have a bit of a surprise for later. I'm sure you know about it, but I'm giving it a little touch-up," Charlie told Harry before she turned to her father. "Oh, Dad. There's something else. After this whole thing, I'm going to let Harry know one of the family spells. The Dementors went after him twice, so I think it's about time he learns it."
Lucifer looked at his children before he gave a serious look and nodded. "Very well. Go ahead and make sure that you teach him well. It's a powerful and ancient secret that only those with the proper training are capable of using," the King of Hell stated. "Make sure nobody gets hurt. Well, unless they deserve it. Then hurt them as much as possible. I recommend insulting their mother. Well, I should be off, I'll see you both during the Holidays." Lucifer told his children, tipping his hat and leaving the Hospital and the school entirely.
After the King of Hell left, Harry turned to his sister. "What is it you're planning?"
"If I told you, it wouldn't be much of a secret," Charlie said, putting a finger to her lips and giving a wink. "You'll have to find out soon."
The days passed and Harry was annoyed that he was still in the Hospital Wing. It wasn't all bad since his friends and teammates got to stop by and see him when they could spare the time. To make sure he didn't miss his lessons, Hagrid or Charlie would also visit him after classes and give the boy his homework. Professor Lupin even made an effort to go and visit him in the Hospital Wing after he returned from his own sick day. "Your sister and classmates told me what happened during the match. I'm sorry about what happened to your broomstick."
"It's okay, Professor," Harry told him. But in truth, Harry was bothered by it. The broom was like an old friend of his. He figured he will have to use one of the school brooms, which sucked since they were slower than his Nimbus. "I bet you wanted more than to talk to me about my broom."
"That's right. Since the Dementors seem to go after you while hunting down Sirius Black, I thought it would be best if I taught you an advanced spell that can repel them," Lupin told the 13-year-old.
"Thank you, Professor. But my sister said she was going to teach me a spell to protect myself," Harry explained.
"Charlie told me you would say that. That's why she said we'd both work with you by saying I would teach you the shield and she'll teach you the sword," the DADA Teacher said to him.
"Okay," Harry said as he was glad one of his teachers was looking out for him. "I do wonder why they affect me so much."
"It's mainly because you have horrors in your past that others don't have," Lupin explained. "That is exactly why I want to teach you this spell. It may work on one of them but the more there are the more difficult it is to repel them. But I'm afraid I'll have to do this after the holidays."
"Alright," Harry said as he watched his professor leave his bedside. With the thoughts of the lessons planned for him in his head, Harry was now focused on recovering.
After he was given the okay to leave the Hospital Wing, Harry walked toward the Great Hall just in time to see a large number of students gathered around a notice on the wall. His eyes widened as he saw it was for the Dueling Club last year being was set up again. But this time, Charlie was teaching it. "Oh boy," Harry muttered as he knew that this might be amazing, yet dangerous.
It was at about this time that Ron and Hermione arrived. "Harry, did you see this," Ron asked as he gestured to the announcement of the revamped Dueling Club.
"I did. And this time looks like we're going to be doing it properly. And something extra," Harry told them both. Ron and Hermione looked confused at what he meant. "It's best if we see it for ourselves," he said, signing himself up for Dueling Club before the others signed up with him.
After classes were done, the Great Hall was emptied and the same crowd all gathered for the first lesson of the new Dueling Club. Charlie was on the long stand wearing the pink fencing outfit that she went to practice with during her Hell School days. "Now, many of you should know that Dueling is not always a proper way of fighting. Unlike your previous Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, I'll show you how it's done properly," she told everyone who was there as she walked on the platform. "Also, Professor Snape has agreed to be my assistant just like last year to make sure that everyone pays attention." At his introduction, Snape walked across the on the other end of the platform looking menacing as he always does.
"She has no chance against someone like Snape. She doesn't even have a wand," Hermione whispered.
"Just watch," Harry smirked as he knew what his sister is capable of. When he saw Malfoy's smug look thinking his Head of House was going to win by a landslide, Harry hid his smirk. 'I can't wait to see that smirk turn into a frown, you fucking ferret.'
Both Charlie and Snape approach one another with Snape having his wand drawn. But to the confusion of others, Charlie didn't have a wand out. Both the teacher and the assistant bowed to one another before they took five paces back to each other before facing once more. Aiming, Snape readied his wand and started to utter the incantation for a Stunning Spell. "Stupe-"
Before Snape could finish speaking, Charlie rushed in front of him and she threw a palm strike into his chest, making him stagger. After that surprise attack, the Princess of Hell grabbed the potion master by his wand armed and twisted it slightly so that it made him drop his wand. Kicking it to the other side of the platform, Charlie then continued her physical assault on the professor by twisting his arm while teaching. "Spells are good for mid to long-range attacks but most witches and wizards rely on their magic too much. If you get up to someone and disarm them, you can beat them down with your bare fists," Charlie explained before punching Snape in the kidneys.
Many of the students gasped and hissed as Snape got hit hard. "That's barbaric," Hermione said as she cringed at the sight.
"It's pragmatic," Harry states. "You know how many creeps and jerks I had to deal with back home? If anything, this is Charlie going easy on him. If she wanted, she would have ripped his wand out of his grasp and stabbed him in the eye with it. I mean, you're carrying around a thin and sturdy piece of wood. It has practical uses too if you're clever. Like the classic way to slay evil vampires in fiction," he added, miming a stake going through his heart.
As Harry said this, he swore he saw Neville paying attention to his words. After some more physical pummeling, Charlie released Snape as the black-haired professor was now sporting a black eye. "Sorry about being so rough, Professor Snape. I had to explain my lesson thoroughly," Charlie apologized.
"So long as you make sure the students don't kill each other," Snape said, hissing in pain as he covered his eye and held his side. "I will admit these lessons would be rather useful in some other classes like Defense Against the Dark Arts or Care of Magical Creatures," he remarked.
"That it would. Now who would like to give it a go," Charlie asked with a big smile.
Immediately as she said this, a majority of the students took a big step backward or ducked behind the tables. Harry was the only one that didn't step back, noticing that everyone did the same thing as when they were learning about hippogriffs. 'Cowards,' he thought to himself as he stepped up on the stands. What he didn't expect was Malfoy volunteering himself at the same time. Seeing this, Harry smirked and rolled his eyes. "Are you sure you want to do this, Malfoy?"
"Your sister got lucky is all. I'll show you magic is still better than something any person can do," Malfoy said, pulling out his wand while Harry didn't. They both faced one another and took five paces back before facing one another. "Slugulus-"
Bang!
Harry pulled out his pepperbox pistol and red smoke came out of the barrel. A few seconds of silence passed as some students expect Malfoy to cough out blood and fall to the ground. But instead, the blond-haired teenager was twitching violently as he started to uncontrollably scratch himself. Malfoy started to remove his robes as he continued to scratch and saw small red marks on his skin. The students laughed at the Slytherin as he could do nothing but scratch himself. "Thanks for being my test subject, Malfoy. And don't worry, it isn't chicken pox. It's something I made called Fire Ant Pellets," Harry said as Malfoy kept scratching and started to scream.
"I'LL GET YOU FOR THIS, MAGNE! AH, IT BURNS," Draco shouted as he discarded more of his clothing and ran out of the hallway of the school.
"Mr. Malfoy, have you no decency," Professor McGonagall shouted as she watched Draco run past in only his underwear. After seeing that, she stunned him with a spell and decided to give him a worthy punishment.
"And that's another thing you should look out for. Some people may have a weapon on them," Charlie told the class. "As the saying goes 'you don't bring a knife to a gunfight.' I'll give 5 points to Gryffindor for creativity. Now, who wants to be next?"
After Dueling lessons, Fred and George were commenting on Harry's easy victory against Malfoy and the ammunition used for his magically enchanted firearm.
"That was brilliant, Harry! You have got to tell us how you make those pellets," Fred commented.
"It would be a great product for our joke shop in the future," George added.
"If you have any others, we'd love to see for ourselves," Fred said as if he and his twin found a goldmine to dig through.
"Maybe another time guys, they're still in testing," Harry told the twins as they walked back to the Common Room. "Maybe I'll give you the results near the end of this term."
"Speaking of the end of the term, I heard of another Hogsmeade trip coming up before the Christmas holiday," Ron said aloud. "Maybe I can go see the Shrieking Shack." Hermione elbowed him as he realized what he did. "Oh wait, I mean. Sorry, Harry."
"It's fine. I'll be able to go after Christmas," Harry explained to his best friends and classmates. "You guys have a good time."
"Actually, we wanted to talk to you about something else, Harry," George said.
"You guys go on ahead. We'll only be a few minutes," Fred told his little brother. Shrugging at this, Ron went ahead with Hermione while the twins spoke with Harry. Dragging him to an area where they could be alone, Fred and George looked around before they took Harry into a small classroom that wasn't being used. "Harry, from the goodness in our hearts and making us laugh hard today, we decided that you need this more than we do," Fred said before George pulled out a large piece of parchment and placed it into Harry's hands.
"You're giving me some paper with nothing on it," Harry asked dryly as he looked at the parchment.
"Oh, it has something on it," George says.
"You just gotta know the right words," Fred adds.
George pulled out his wand and tapped it on the piece of paper. "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good." As the twin said those words, the blank piece of paper was filled with ink as it showed Hogwarts castle on the cover.
"Messrs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs Purveyors of Aids to Magical Mischief-Makers
are proud to present THE MARAUDER'S MAP," Harry read aloud as it began to unfold itself and reveal the various levels of the castle and even parts of the grounds.
"Pretty cool, right? This little beauty's taught us more than all the teachers in this school," Fred stated. "We found it in Filch's office during our first year."
"We were sent there when we set off a Dungbomb. When we got there, we saw a drawer labeled 'Confiscated and Highly Dangerous'. Which we knew meant it was definitely something to check out, so I set off another Dungbomb as a distraction so Fred could raid it," George explained.
"Took us a while to figure out the words for how to activate it and turn it off, but it seemed to know we wanted to use it for what it was meant for. This map shows everything around the castle, even the people," Fred stated, pointing out the various dots with names and footprints that moved along the parchment of the map.
Harry was amazed at the map's magical tracking power to show all the teachers and students. Not even the ghosts were exempt from that map's knowledge. As he looked at everything, Harry noticed something. "Hey, where's the Chamber of Secrets on this thing," he asked.
" No clue. We think that the map only shows what the makers knew existed. Or there are unplottable rooms throughout the castle and the Chamber was probably one of them. Hell, we tried checking for it last year, but we couldn't find anything about it," Fred told Harry.
"What we do know is that there are all kinds of secret passages around the castle. We used a lot of them for our pranks. So much that we memorized their locations," George added.
"This is brilliant," Harry said as he flipped through the map and saw everyone's names, including Dumbledore's. As he flipped the pages, he saw his name was labeled 'Harry Morningstar and even found his sister labeled 'Charlotte Morningstar'. Harry quickly flipped the page to not let the twins see his real last name, then spoke to them as a distraction and inquiry. "What secret passage can get me close to Hogsmeade?"
"That would be the one-eyed witch passageway, it will lead you to the Honeydukes cellar. We recommend you bring your Invisibility Cloak. That way no one can see you," Fred told him.
"And one more thing. When you want it to be blank again, tap on the paper with your wand and say 'Mischief Managed'. Otherwise, anyone can read it," George said, tapping on the paper to make the map vanish.
"This is great. I don't know how I can repay you guys," Harry smiled as he looked up and the twins gave him a certain look. "Ah. I get it," Harry nodded as he knew what the favor would be. "Okay, I'll tell you the formula for the Fire Ant Pellets. But if you get your shop, I want 5% of the total sales of them every month."
"Deal," the twins said together before shaking Harry's hands.
As the third years made their way toward Hogsmeade, Harry waited in the Common Room before he took his Invisibility Cloak and the magic map. Putting on the cloak before he left the room, he opened up the map and spoke the magic phrase needed. "I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good." Seeing the map activate, he followed the path he needed to take, making sure to avoid Filch and Mrs. Norris along the way as they appeared on the map itself. Harry reached the one-eyed witch statue and pulled out his wand to say another spell. "Dissendium." When he cast the spell, the statue's hump opened wide enough to fit a fairly thin person. Harry looked around to see if the coast was clear before jumping into the hole feet first. He slid a considerable way down what felt like a stone slide, then landed on cold and damp ground. Getting up on his feet, he noticed that where he landed was pitch black. "Lumos," Harry muttered and his wand had a light shining off it like a flashlight. Ahead of him, he saw a long and narrow passageway that he could tell was the proper way he needed to go. "Mischief managed," he muttered as the map turned blank once more. Putting it in his pockets and removing his cloak, the Prince of Hell followed the pathway toward his destination of Hogsmeade.
The passageway twisted and turned like a burrow of a rabbit. It felt like it took forever, but Harry was determined to make his way there. After what felt like an hour, Harry saw some stone steps ahead of him and started to climb them. Raising his wand he noticed that a stone slab was above him. He touched the slab and gave it a small push, realizing it was a trapdoor. Lifting it slightly to get a look around the area, he watched a store worker lifting some boxes up a staircase. Seeing that no one else was down in the cellar, Harry pushed the stone slab out of his way and jumped out to see the dusty cellar with machines and boxes of sweets labeled 'Honeydukes'. He placed the slab back on the floor, put on his Invisibility Cloak, and ascended the wooden stairs to the shop. Luckily for the Prince of Hell, the door was slightly open and all he had to do was nudge the door slightly open to make it look like it was swinging from its own weight. Looking at everything from behind the counter of Honeydukes, he saw many Hogwart students make crowding the candy store as they bought jelly slugs, chocolate frogs, honey-colored toffee, Fizzing Whizbees, the levitating sherbert balls that Ron mentioned, and hundreds and hundreds of sweets that Harry can't keep track of.
'Maybe I'll come back when I'm here legally,' Harry thought to himself as he pushed his way through the crowd and made his way out of Honeydukes to see if he could surprise Ron and Hermione. 'Now where would they be,' he asked himself as the snow crunched under his feet. He then remembered that Ron said that he wanted to go see the Shrieking Shack. The Prince of Hell first looked around for any signs that point to the haunted house and headed from there. Soon enough, Harry saw a sign that showed the way to the Shrieking Shack and headed from there.
After some exploring, Harry found both of his friends on the outskirts of the Shrieking Shack and looked at it. Harry was making some snowballs to prank his friends, but suddenly, Malfoy showed up with his goon Crabbe and another Slytherin that wasn't Goyle.
"Well, well. Look who's here. You two looking for your new dream home," Malfoy asked. "Bit grand for you, Weasley? Doesn't your family sleep in... um, I don't know… One room?"
"Shut your mouth, Malfoy," Ron defended himself.
"Oh really? Maybe we should teach you a little lesson about respect," Malfoy said as his two goons cracked their knuckles.
"From you? I'd rather date the squid in the lake," Hermione chuckled.
"How dare you talk to me, you filthy little Mudblood," Malfoy said as Harry heard enough from the Slytherin and threw a snowball at him. Malfoy let out a yelp of surprise as the ice and snow went down the back of his neck. The Slytherins, Ron, and Hermione looked surprised and looked around for who threw the snowball. "Who's there," Malfoy asked no one in particular and saw that another snowball hit his face. After that, he was hit again before another hit him. Soon enough, Malfoy had to shake the snow off of himself like a dog before he turned to the others. "Do something, you idiots," he ordered his goons just before Crabbe got pantsed and the other Slytherin got his hat pulled down on him. Crabbe tried to pull his pants back up but got his ass literally kicked and he faceplanted into the snow-covered ground. The third Slytherin boy's scarf got pulled swiftly, making it so he spun around until he felt dizzy and fell into the snow himself. Panicking at what was happening, Malfoy tripped over Crabbe and was dragged towards the Shrieking Shack by his feet, which began to freak him out and he screamed in fear. When he wasn't being dragged, got up to his feet and ran away as fast as he could, pushing his goons out of his way and towards the main road.
Both Ron and Hermione laughed at the scene as they watched the Slytherin boys flee. Just then, Ron's hat was pulled off and Hermione's hair was flipped over her head. "Okay, Harry. You can come out now," she said after spitting out hairs that fell in her mouth. The Prince of Hell took his Invisibility Cloak off himself as he doubled over in a fit of laughter.
"Bloody Hell, Harry. That wasn't funny," Ron said, still spooked.
"Nah, it was funny," Harry said between laughing fits.
"How did you get out of the castle without anyone noticing," Hermione asked as she fought her own laughter as well.
As Harry walked with his friends, he explained to them the map and how Fred and George gave it to him. "Seriously?! Why didn't they give it to me? I'm their brother," Ron said he was offended.
"But it's not like Harry's not going to keep it, right," Hermione asked as she turned to the dark-haired wizard. "You are going to turn it into McGonagall, right?"
"Nah, I am going to keep it. It's useful to keep an eye out for anyone, especially if Sirius Black is around. Besides, I'd have to rat out Fred and Geroge on how I got it and Filch will wonder how it ended up in my hands if I never been too close to him," Harry told her. The bushy-haired girl was going to make an argument, but no words came out of her mouth. "Besides, I'm only here this way until I get my permission slip back from home."
"You are going to be in so much trouble," Hermione muttered.
"Well, you want the grand tour," Ron asked his best friend.
"Would I?! Lead the way," Harry said as Ron and Hermione showed him around town.
"You already saw the Shrieking Shack and Honeydukes. So over there is Zonkos's Joke Shop, the post office is right there, and there is the Three Broomsticks," Ron pointed out as Harry looked around. "You know, maybe we should get a butterbeer just to warm ourselves up."
"Not a good idea. What if some classmates or teachers are there," Hermione pointed out to them both.
"Then I'll just wear my Invisibility Cloak," Harry told her as he put it on and was invisible once more.
Seeing as she couldn't argue with him any further, she, Ron, and the invisible Harry walked up to the Three Broomsticks and entered the inn. The place was noisy, crowded, busy, and warm. The three of them took a seat at the corner of the pub where they saw a curvy woman serving three warlocks. "That's Madam Rosmerta. Ron fancies her," Hermione said, teasing the red-haired teenager.
"That's not true," Ron said, lightly blushing.
"I can see why," Harry whispered under his cloak as he had to admit the woman was attractive for her age. But compared to his mother and Verosika's figures, she would be smaller than they were.
"I'm gonna go get drinks," Ron said as he didn't want to be the subject of teasing. Five minutes later, he came back with three foaming tankards of butterbeer. "Here you go," he said, handing each of them a glass.
Harry took the tankard and gulped down half of the drink in one go. "Damn, that's good," he muttered as he let out a soft belch. "I have got to get the recipe back home."
After finishing the glass, a cold breeze filled the inn as Charlie came out with a long coat, pink mittens, and earmuffs. Harry's stomach made a flip as he saw his sister enter and was looking in their direction. "Hey, Ron! Hey, Hermione! Enjoying the town," she asked as she took a seat right in front of them.
"Very much, Ms. Magne," Hermione said as Ron nodded as they looked tensed.
"Please, call me Charlie outside of school. You two are close to my brother, after all," Charlie smiled at the two. "So are you two here on a date," she asked with a sly smirk, which made both of the teenagers blush furiously. "Oh, don't worry. I'm only teasing you. But the look on your faces! Priceless," she laughed.
"Um, what are you doing here, Ms. Ma- I mean, Charlie," Hermione asked as she calmed down from her furious blush.
"Oh, just a little Christmas shopping. Even though Mom and Dad don't celebrate the holiday, I thought I'd still get them presents. Also, I was thinking of getting something for Harry," the Princess of Hell told them. "It's a real shame he couldn't come. I'm sure he would love it."
"Yeah, I'm sure he would," Ron said, gulping down his butterbeer.
"Well, I'll leave you two alone now," Charlie got up and took three steps away from their table before stopping. "Oh, and tell Harry I want to have a word with him outside. Now."
All three of them froze as they were caught. Harry turned pale white underneath his Invisibility Cloak. Hermione nudged him to do as his sister says or else they will get the blame. Sighing, Harry got up from his seat and walked to meet his sister. When they were alone, he took off the Invisibility Cloak. "Hey, Charlie," Harry greeted like one does to an oncoming truck.
The Princess of Hell gave a stern glare at her brother, making his nervous smile grow bigger as he realized he was in trouble. "I can't believe you. You couldn't have waited until after the holidays," she asked in a cold tone that was reminiscent of their mother when she was disappointed. "You know there's a killer after you and you decided to sneak out anyway?!"
"Sis, I-"
"I don't want to hear your excuse, Harry. Just be lucky you didn't get hurt. I could tell Dad to not give you the slip, but you'll just sneak out again anyway. So, as a teacher's assistant and a member of the Hogwarts staff, I'm taking 10 points from Gryffindor and you're serving detention with me for an entire day."
'Fuck,' Harry thought to himself as he was escorted back into the castle. "Hang on, how did you know I was in the Three Broomsticks?" He asked.
"I saw you going in, the empty tankard by your friends, and there was still a little snow on the edge of your cloak while you were inside. It didn't melt away fully," she told her little brother as he mentally slapped himself for not covering his tracks better. "And I think I know the perfect punishment for you," she said as she grinned evilly. Harry gulped in worry as they headed to the castle.
The following day, Harry was rubbing his ears when he just got out of detention. 'I think I would rather have Snape make me clean the cauldrons by hand than suffer another detention with Charlie,' the Prince of Hell thought to himself as he could still hear the sounds of an accordion being played. 'So. Much. Polka.' After snapping out of his thoughts, Harry walked passed one of the courtyards where he saw Hagrid pulling a giant tree. "Getting the tree up for Christmas, Hagrid?"
"Oh yeah, I have. Professor Dumbledore asked me ter get a fresh one," Hagrid told the Prince of Hell. "So, I heard ya going back home for the Holidays. What's it like?"
"Nothing special. Mainly Mom wants me back home. But it's a normal day down there since…you know… Dad doesn't like Uncle JC's birthday and how everyone makes it a holiday about him," Harry told him as Hell doesn't celebrate Christmas.
"Oh…Well… Least you can enjoy yourself with yer family," Hagrid said as he tried to list a good thing about Harry returning home for the holiday.
"I will. And tell Norbert and Buckbeak I said Merry Christmas," Harry said as he continued his walk toward the Great Hall.
"Will do, Harry," Hagrid said as he waved to the teenager, then returned to his job.
As the Prince of Hell was getting closer to the Great Hall, many students passing by him were saying 'Congrats' or 'I wish I was you'. Harry didn't know what they were talking about, but shrugged and continued on his way. When he finally reached the Great Hall for breakfast, both Neville Longbottom and Seamus Finnigan ran up to him.
"Harry, how did you get it," Neville asked the Prince of Hell, who looked very confused.
"Lucky wizard, you are," Seamus said as they gathered around him.
"What are you guys talking about," Harry finally asked as his classmates let him through to see a broomstick laying on the Gryffindor table. The shaft was made of ebony, the twigs were birch, and the iron on the broom had the quality that wizards could tell was only achieved through the work of goblin smiths. On the ebony handle, there was gold lettering that read 'Firebolt'. Harry's eyes widened as he looked at the broom. "Is that…for me," he asked himself. Did his parents gift him a broom to replace his old one? He stepped forward ready to touch it until Professor McGonagall spoke up.
"What is going on here," she asked as she made her way to the crowd of students and saw the broom on the table. "Magne, who sent you that broom?"
"That's what I want to know. I'm thinking it's my parents after what happened to my old one," Harry told his head of house as he looked to see if there was a note attached, but couldn't find one.
"As much as I want to see you with that broom, it could be hexed by Sirius Black. I'm going to confiscate it until we are sure that it's not tampered with," she told the Prince of Hell.
"But we don't know that. It could be from my parents," Harry tried to argue, but the Scottswoman was staying firm.
"I'm sorry, Magne. But we have to be cautious. We'll make sure it's inspected during the holiday," McGonagall told him.
"What's going on?" Everyone watched as Charlie was seen walking right into the Great Hall where all the Gryffindor students were huddled up.
"Hey. Charlie? Did Mom and Dad mention to you about me getting a new broom," Harry asked. The Princess of Hell shook her head in response as she was just as confused as Harry was. It was then that he pointed to the Firebolt that was on the table right next to the Transfiguration teacher.
"Oh, wow! That's the Firebolt, right," Charlie asked as she got a closer look at the broom. "Who sent it to you?"
"We fear it was possibly Sirius Black. That is why I want to inspect it thoroughly before Mr. Magne returns to Hogwarts after Christmas," Professor McGonagall said to Charlie.
"Professor, if you don't mind, I can check if there is a hex on it really fast," Charlie told the elder witch.
"Young lady, I am well aware you're a gifted witch for your age. However, this has to be done professionally," the Scottswoman told the blonde assistant.
"I know. That's why I'm saying I can check a Hex faster," Charlie insisted. "Doesn't hurt to be careful," she added since she wants to know if Sirius Black did sent a hexed broom to her little brother.
"Very well, but we'll do it right in my office," McGonagall said as she used the Levitation charm to make sure no one touched the broom as Charlie followed her. Mere minutes later, the Transfiguration teacher placed the Firebolt on her desk. "You may begin your anti-hex charm, Ms. Magne."
The Princess of Hell stood in front of the broom and started muttering in her demonic tongue as the broom was surrounded by a black aura that looked like the broom was on fire. Continuing her spell, Charlie's eyes rolled to the back of her head as the flames grew. The sight was surprising to McGonagall since she had never seen magic like this before. Charlie finished as her eyes returned to normal and the flames died down. "The broom has no hexes placed on it. It's untampered," Charlie told the teacher as she realized that her brother could ride on the fastest broom that was made so far. The Princess of Hell turned to the Transfiguration teacher to see she was utterly surprised. "Professor?"
McGonagall got out of her trance as looked at the blonde. "I won't lie. I have been studying magic for many years, yet I never saw any like yours. What type is it?"
By the look she was giving her because of the spell she used, Charlie thought it best to tell her the family secret since she was Deputy Headmistress and Head of Gryffindor House. With a snap of her fingers, Charlie created a sound-proof charm that didn't allow any listeners to eavesdrop on them. "What you saw was demonic magic. It's much more powerful than human magic," she said, giving a minute for McGonagall to process that information. "While Harry's still human, I'm not. I'm a demon. My real name is Charlotte Morningstar, Princess of Hell and first heir to the throne."
Cliffhanger! I miss doing that. Anyway, this was a long chapter, and didn't want to make it 10,000 words long, but it was close. Anyway, I want to thank WaterDragonMaverick for editing and suggestions. And in case you movie watchers are curious. In the book, Harry didn't catch the Snitch but was still attacked by Dementors as Cedric Diggory did, but the Hufflepuff felt the match should be a re-match. And Harry got the Firebolt at Christmas and it was going to be inspected anyway. Here, he got it a little early. And now Professor McGonagall knows about Harry's family. Just a reminder that only Dumbledore, Hagrid, and Snape know about Harry's parents and sister. And now, McGonagall knows. Next time, Harry and Charlie return home for the Holidays, have a family reunion, and learn some spells Harry will use as his signature spell throughout the entire story.
Until Next time, I will see you in Hell!
