Hey everyone hoped you liked the last chapter I'll try to the number of words similar but idk if I can I'll try my best to not have typos to but it still might happen, somehow this is the farthest I've gone with a story so I hope you can learn with me thats all I have for right now!
"No no no no no" I whispered to myself as I hid behind the desk.
"I know where you are" a sing songy voice said. The dragon jumped from the corner.
"Ahhhh!" I yelled sat up. I opened my eyes looking around in the dark, it was just a dream well more like nightmare I thought I continued looking around the cave well trying to look around I don't have night vision like SeaWings but I have pretty good eyesight since I'm a SandWing I could make see the outlines of the other dragons and a few major and minor details. I don't know how I didn't wake up anyone with that scream but. They must be heavy sleepers I thought, I laid down and something hard hit my neck I forgot to take off my scarf and my library card grazed my neck I unrolled the red scarf with the library card come tumbling out I set them both by the chest I brought with me. It would be hard to get back to sleep but I had to try what else was there to do no one was awake, I lay back down staring up at the roof of the cave. I looked over at the entrance, I thought I saw someone there.
"Hello?" I said. the shape when running away with a couple footsteps they were gone. Wow a lot of weird stuff has happened Mountain suddenly having to go that mystery dragon and oh yeah I thought Iceberg was gonna kill me I thought recounting the yesterday's events. Time seemed to fly as I heard Seaweed start to stir.
"Oh hey Seaweed" I said still looking up at roof.
"Wow never tought you would wake up before me" he replied.
"Had a nightmare, couldn't get back to sleep" I said.
"Ah right" he remarked. "Hey they must have posted our classes!" Seaweed continued. I looked over at the entrance and sure enough a scroll was pinned there, Seaweed must have seen it too since he jumped up tripping over his talons sliding into the wall I laughed at this but Seaweed didn't care he just wanted to see where we were going.
"What are you doing making that much noise" a voice said from the back of the cave it was Iceberg next to her was a NightWing. Wait when did she get here, was that the dragon from before hm probably, I thought I must have been to distracted by the roof to notice her when she came back.
"Oh sorry I was just looking at the schedule!" Seaweed replied.
"Well try to keep it down" Iceberg grumbled. She wasn't happy, that didn't stop Seaweed from beeing loud though as he started stomping over to read the paper.
"So we got history, defense training then lunch after those to we will have music after that and finally art!" Seaweed finished.
"Guess we got our work cut out for us" I told him. He nodded. "We need to be there in an hour right?" I asked.
"Oh yeah your right, we just need to find something to do till then!" I nodded.
"I think I'll read this scroll" I said, pulling it out of my chest Seaweed just shrugged walking to something on his mat. I unrolled the scroll it was some place called Pantala over the ocean with weird dragons but no one knew for sure it was out there thats why its just a myth I finished it pretty quick it seems we didn't knoe a lot about it, if it really excists anyway. I based on what was in a scroll I don't think it was, the sad thing is it only got me 10 minutes of distraction. I would have to remember to bring it back to StarFlight. By this time everyone was awake even Iceberg that NightWing was still in the corner it almost seemed like she was hiding from everyone, Rain and Mountain were chatting about whatever they talk about. Iceberg was complaing about how far away lunch was Seaweed was fidgeting with a rock, Mountain cleared her throat while looking throughout the group.
"Why don't we do some ice breakers! No offense Iceberg" Mountain shouted.
"Ice breakers?" I asked a little confused.
"Y'know my name is blank I'm here because blank" she replied. "If everyones okay with it" she continued.
"Yeah definitley!" Seaweed yelled, of course he would be like that everyone else was pretty much okay with it. "I'll go first!" Seaweed added.
"So my name is Seaweed, and I came here because I'm pretty smart so some dragons back home got me here!" he said quickly.
"You never told me that" I told him I wasn't angry but it would be good to know.
"Oh sorry you never asked" he replied.
"Fair enough" I admitted.
"Hey why don't you go next!" Seaweed yelled I shrugged.
"Sure why not" I replied.
"Great!" Seaweed added.
"So my name is Coyote and I'm here since my mother wanted me to learn more and I wanted to come" I said not really paying attention to the other dragons as I put on my scarf.
"So whos next?!" Mountain yelled energeticly.
"Why not you?" Iceberg said.
"Oh sure!" she replied. "So my name is Mountain and I'm here because I just wanted to so I enrolled and hear I am!" she continued. "Same with my friend Rain here!" she added. It seems Seaweed and her will get along great I thought as Rain nodded.
"So I don't have to go anymore right?" Rain asked.
"I guess so, sorry!" Mountain replied.
"I guess I'll go then" Iceberg cut in with a bored look on her face. "Anyway the names Iceberg and my parents forced me to come here but I guess its alright here" she continued.
"Hey its Star right?" Mountain asked to the NightWing in the corner she nodded slightly she looked scared to be here, I would need to ask her about it later. "So you can go now" Mountain added. The NightWing nodded slowly and opened her mouth but nothing came out, I noted this.
"So yes my name is Star and I'm just here to learn about other tribes and things like that" she said in a soft voice. I nodded so did the others, I heard some type of gong the other heard it to has we snapped our heads at the entrance.
"I think that means we better get going" I said geting up. "Seaweed you coming with me or staying with them?" I said motioning to the whole group.
"I'll come with you I don't want to be late!" he yelled.
"You guys should get going soon" I metioned to the others, they nodded in return I checked the schedule and we got history I then checked the map.
"Ok I know where we're going" I said to Seaweed he nodded ready to go I turned left following what the map said. The room was actully really close we got there in about 3 or 4 minutes. As me and Seaweed entered the cave we saw an old looking SeaWing sorting a few scrolls in front of a board, we were the only ones there I hoped the others would be here soon otherwise that would not be a great first impression of our winglet. The SeaWing looked up from whatever he was doing.
"Hey where are you clawmates?" he asked as soon as he said that something hit me in the back knocking me to the ground.
"Oh three moons I'm so sorry!" someone said while they were getting off me I groaned.
"Its fine" I replied turning around. It was Star who was apolgizing standing infront of the others. "Glad you guys finally made it" I added.
"Oh yeah" Rain replied. "Us to" she continuded.
"Please children take your seats" the SeaWing said, after he said that the others started to take their seats I was about to as well but Star approched me first.
"Are you sure you okay?" she asked sounding pretty worried.
"Oh yeah I'm fine" I replied.
"If your sure" she said walking to take a seat, I walked with her and found a seat next to Seaweed Star took a seat near Rain seemed like they were friends.
"So we will be talking about the war of SandWing succsesion we all know a little bit about it right" the SeaWing said, everyone basicly nodded.
"Oh wait I forgot I'm Webs and I already know your names from my sheet so we don't need anymore introdutions" Webs said. "So yes everyone knows a little bit about it, probably the dragonets of destiny" I just listened I knew a bit more then that I thought the others would be the same. "So of course the SandWing would know the most" I didn't know what webs was talking about untill I looked around at everyone nodding yes about only really knowing about the DOD. Webs continued on about stuff I already knew for the others since they didn't know much I was pretty bored all class I almost fell asleep a couple time by the end of class he was talking about the eye of onyx. You might be wondering how I know so much well years of having nothing to do you start to read a lot. That was pretty much the whole class nothing notable happened I did pick up a few things that I didn't know before I noted them down almost instantly soon enough class ended and Webs said goodbye and sent us on our way.
"So we got defense training next right?" I asked.
"Ohh fighting?" Iceberg asked a devious smile crossing her face. I've got a bad feeling about this I thought a frown crossing my face.
"Well lets go" I continued ready to fight even though I'm not great I've got to try at least maybe I can even get stronger who know.
"So we need to go... That way!" I yelled pointing right I already started running it was about 15 meters away we got there instantly since we were running also, this area had an open roof with some dummies lined up persumely what we would be training on. There was a SeaWing in the middle probably waiting for us.
"Hey everyone I'm Tsunami I'll be teachng you defense and offense fighting" Tsunami sounded pretty bored I wouldn't know why though. "Anyway I'll show a few moves on this dummie and then you will copy them" she continued she swiped with her right talon in the face of the dummie she then lashed her tail out and around slaming the head right off the dummie I cringed back you would not want to be on the receving end of the tail, Tsunami finished with a punch to the stomach I would say she went over the top the a real dragon would have run away after that scratch.
"So you just need to do that" Tsunami said I don't know how she still seemed bored after what she just did I was in awe. "So pick out a dummie you will fight" Tsunami added, I picked out a mid sized one at the edge. I saw Iceberg started right away so I followed her and started slashing it with my talons hitting it with my tail and punching with all my might. I did that over and over again untill I was panting drenched in sweat it was about an hour into class which means we still had an hour, the dummie I practiced on was pretty destroyed teared up its head hanging on by a thread.
I looked over at the others dummies Iceberg of cource barley had a dummie at this point, Seaweed's was a little better then mine, Mountain had a similar outcome, Rain's had no head and cotton splayed out around it, she must be a pretty messy fighter and Star's pretty much looked untouched not a lot of damage.
"I wish we could fight a real dragons" Iceberg cut in out of nowhere, Tsunami heard this her ears perked she turned around a smile crossing her face.
"Great idea!" Tsunami yelled getting something ready. "Pick your sparring parters!" she added, I looked around the choices were Iceberg is someone I wouldn't be able to go against yet, Mountain and Rain already partnered up already so it came down to Seaweed or Star.
"Star, Coyote and Seaweed you will be a group of three I'm gonna fight Iceberg!" Tsunami yelled at us. I shrugged looking at my new partners Star looked down Seaweed just looked tired, I didn't think he got tired I thought.
"So do you guys want to take turns and go 1 on 1 or a battle royal type of thing?" I asked waiting for their response I knew both of them had an opinion but they didn't want to say it I looked at them. "So?" I asked I didn't want to be unfair and make all the decisions .
"I guess 1 on 1" Seaweed said, Star just nodded I think thats what she wanted though I couldn't know for sure.
"So which fighters are up first" I asked I wouldn't mind going first I just would perfer if I didn't Seaweed must have noticed this.
"Hey Star why don't me and you go first!" he said sounding nervous himself it was a lot different fighting a real dragon instead of a fake one.
"Hey I'll be referee" I said.
"Thats great!" Seaweed replied. Star nodded agreeing with Seaweed.
"So the ground rules are pretty much just no fire, only melee attacks. You can fly just not to high" I said taking a place out of the fight. "You can begin!" I yelled after finding a good place to watch. Seaweed moved first running in for a punch, Star flinched but was able to jump away she still got a litle cut on her arm from Seaweeds talons. Star retaliated with a slower swipe to Seaweeds wing he side stepped avoiding the hit. He jumped forward tackling Star to the ground he jumped away waiting for her to make the next move. Star struggled to get up, I don't want to be mean but strength probably wasn't Stars best ability. Once she got off the ground she stared down Seaweed probably figuring out a plan, as far as I could see Seaweed hadn't left any opening Star could get to. I could tell Seaweed was getting ready for another attack as Star probably wouldn't make the first move. He ran lifting up into the air Star was staring up at him confusion showing up on her face, I didn't now why he started flying either. He flew down right at Star she didn't have a moment to think as Seaweed slammed into her pinning Star to the ground.
Star tryed to fight back but couldn't get away from Seaweed, after a few seconds went by.
"Okay I think Seaweed won this one!" I yelled after I said that Seaweed started to back away and help Star up.
"Good job!" Seaweed said as Star reached her feet.
"You to, you really deserved that win." Star replied, sounding dissapointed which I expected.
"So you wanna fight me next?" Seaweed asked looking at me.
"Oh yeah sure" I replied I saw Seaweed in action I knew how he fought, quick I would have to take initiative if I want to win.
"Then I'll be referee." Star said swapping places with me, I looked at Seaweed scanning where I should attack first probably the wings grounding him for a bit would of great intrest to me. "You can begin!" Star yelled. Remembering the plan I ran forward first I stopped in my tracks as Seaweed ran full speed at me he thought I chickened out and he was gonna get a clean hit. Instead I leaped over him scratching him in the back out of surprise he slid and face planted into the ground he got up prety quick but he still didn't have time to react as I barreled into him, though he did scratch me as I came into contact. As Seaweed hit the ground I put him in a head lock he was about to punch me but Tsunami cut in before he did. "Hey everyone thats all we have for today, you all should make your way to the Prey Center!" she yelled. I let go of Seaweed and helped him up.
"Nice job!" I said to him.
"You to you probably would have won if we had more time!" he said. I nodded as we walked back over to Star.
"So you guys wanna go to the prey center?" I asked Star and Seaweed nodded in unison. "Well lets go then!" I added as I sprinted out of there the other were struggling to keep up so I slowed down to a speed walk following the line of students we soon got to the Prey Center chickens were running around everywhere there were also fruis sitting around but I ignored them and went straight for a chicken that ran by me, I caught under my talon and in one swift bite I killed it. As I was cooking it up with my fire the ohers showed up.
"You already got some food!?" Seaweed asked shocked I was able to get the chicken so fast, Star had the same look of shock. Some Seawing came up to Seaweed and whispered something to him.
"Oh sorry guys I got to go see you at the music cave!" Seaweed said as he ran after the Seawing leaving me and Star alone, then a NightWing came up to us.
"Hey StarChaser, whos your friend?" they asked, Star blushed and pushed the dragon from behind while walking away.
"Sorry!" Star yelled as she continued pushing the NightWing. I was confused about the interaction but I brushed it off. Wait what did they call her? StarChaser was it? I thought as I finished up my chicken I was ready for music. I couldn't find Seaweed or Star while I was heading out of the Prey Room so I went to the music room on my own.
"Hey Coyote!" I heard from behind me I turned around to see Mountain followed by Rain approching me I was surprised by this as I haven't really talked to them at all.
"Hey" I replied giving them a wave.
"Wanna walk with us to the music room?" she asked.
"Oh yeah sure" I replied starting to walk by them.
"Say, wheres Seaweed?" She asked. with an expression I couldn't place.
"Oh he went with some other SeaWings" I replied as we continued walking, Rain had been pretty much silent the whole time since Mountain and her were pretty much best friends so I didn't expect that. But I didn't really care anyway, we walked in silence the rest of the way we reached the music room pretty quick when we walked in I looked around there were racks with percusion instruments and string instruments too. (There will probably not be like brass or woodwind intruments since I dont think dragons can really play those things) Sunny was standing in the middle talking to Seaweed and Star, they were talking about what instruments they wanted to play. I was going to walk up to them but Mountain blasted pass me running up to them, she almost knocked me off my feet. Iceberg showed up behind looking dissapointed probably because she didn't get to fight anymore I wondered why she liked fighting so much. I continued my approach to the other.
"Oh hey Coyote!" Seaweed said as I joined the group I gave him a wave.
"Ok lets get started!" Sunny said a little after the gong hit. "Please take you seats!" she added. I took a seat next to Seaweed so did Mountain Rain sat on the edge next to her Iceberg sat on the other edge meaning Star sat next to me, she almost seemed like was about to faint I wouldn't know why I've never seen something like this. Wait scratch that I've seen lots of dragons faint, out in the desert. Its why she looked like that as it was pretty cool at least to me but that might be me being used to it being hot, I don't exactly know what the NightWing kingdom is like since there wasn't many scrolls on the matter.
"So today will be about trying out and picking out your instruments, I already knew what I wanted it would be the drum I had I already had my eyes on the excact same drum as the one I grew up with. "So you can pick out an instrument and bring it to me I'll decide if its a good fit and you can practice it!" Sunny said. She motioned to us that we can get up I went straight for the drum the others were kind of confused as they took a slower approach but I just went for it. I grabbed the drum and scanned it, it had an hour glass shape just like my own with and was about as big as my forarm so I could barley clutch it in the middle I tested it and the satisfying beat of the drum sounded I brought it back to Sunny.
"Hey can I use this one?" I asked handing it to Sunny. She examinded it.
"Hmm, yeah you can try this one out if you change your mind just bring it back!" Sunny said handing it back to me. I took it and walked away finding a corner to sit in, testing out the drum I hit the top a couple of times it sounded almost excactly like my own drum. I played a beat I learned a long time ago one of the first I learned actully, I was a basic one 2 beats on top rest 1 beat. It was just something that I could warm up with, I looked around seeing what instruments the others were picking Star was testing out a harp, Seaweed was talking to Sunny some type of guitar, Iceberg was holding a pretty big drum one that you couldn't just carry around, Rain was holding some bongos and Mountain was trying her best to pick up what I think was a bass. I didn't even notice I was still playing untill Seaweed came up to me.
"How are you so good?" he asked with excitment.
"What?" I asked not really knowing what he was talking about.
"The drum!" he said still excited.
"Oh, I have my own and played it all the time and still do now" I replied shrugging. "Just had lots of practice" I added.
"Thats awsome!" he said. We went our separate ways I continued playing my drum untill Sunny said something about getting to our next class but I was bit distracted so I didn't catch everything she said.
I handed her my drum as I walked out.
"Hey dude!" Seaweed said to me walking beside me.
"Hey" I replied, remembering where we had to go. We walked in silence the rest of the way I could tell Seaweed was thinking about something but I wasn't sure of what we soon arrived at the art room. FateSpeaker stood by some painting supplies and canvasas, the others were here already, standing by their own canvas and paint supplies.
"Hello, you must be Coyote and Seaweed" FateSpeaker said.
"Yep!" Seaweed replied, I just nodded FateSpeaker motioned to 2 cavasas so Seaweed and I took our places
"So now that everyone is here I'm gonna explain what we're doing today, so we're gonna paint our homes today!" she said. "So you can start whenever your ready!" she added. I got started right away I knew exactly what to do, there was one sand dune I sat on to watch the sun set I remember it exactly. I started with the sky using blues and greys for clouds and such. I was lost in the art not paying any attention to anything else just me and the paint I finished the sky pretty quickly adding the sun and the rest of the clouds was also pretty easy. I moved on to the yellows of the sand dunes making streaks and swirls with my brush I finished in about 90 minutes leaving 30 minutes of class I took this time to look around Iceberg had painted pretty much just white and grey I could tell what she was going for but she probably wasn't a painter, Mountain's was a lot better with castle with smaller living spaces around it and surrounded by mountains.
Rain had multiple giant trees connected by bridges and had huts in the trees, Seaweed drew the summer palace or I was pretty sure thats what it was I've never seen it in person. Star had a similar drawing to Rain. I was surprised since it seemed like everyone was pretty much done we all kinda stood around finishing off our paintings for the next 30 minutes. Untill another gong rang signalling the end of class. I met up with Seaweed and we walked back to our room knowing the school day was over even if the actual day was not over yet.
