Hello everyone! Wow we made it past 10k words thats crazy I never made it this far with a story surprising right? I hope you guys like it so far and again tell me what I could improve on and all that! I think thats all for right now have a great day/night!

"Why do keep running?" a voice said from behind me I was hiding in the art room the dragon was just pure black red eyes I tried to control my breathing I could't let them fight me. "There you are!" the dragon looked up right at where I was hiding, they unleashed more fire then I had ever seen a dragon create.

"Ahhhhhh!" I yelled.

"Dude are you okay?" Seaweed said. Wait what? Another nightmare.

"Another nightmare" I replied. Seaweed nodded I realized that everyone was already awake I felt a bit embarrased.

"What time is it?" I asked.

"About 8:00?" Mountain replied

"8:00!?" I yelled. wouldn't that mean we're late? I thought

"Don't worry history is canceled Webs got sick and they couldn't get a replacment." Rain assured I was glad we didn't have history last time it was pretty boring. We still had an hour untill we had to get to defense and fight training.

"Well what do we do untill our next class?" I asked.

"I don't know" Iceberg said shrugging we all agreed with her. I remembered the scroll from the library I had to bring it back.

"Guys I'm gonna head over to the library I need to return a scroll" I said getting my scarf and my library card also the pantala scroll.

"Oh ok see ya later!" Mountain said.

"Can I come?" Star spoke up. "I have to return a scroll anyway" she added.

"Yeah sure" I said shrugging. Star seemed pretty happy I didn't know why maybe she just liked the library. We exited the room on our way to the library we walked in silence for a bit.

"Hey coyote!" a voice said from behind us I reconized the voice as Amber I turned around and I was right there Amber stood.

"Hey whats up?" I replied.

"Nothing much, you?" she said.

"Oh just returning scrolls with Star" I said.

"Uh yeah" Star said looking a little down.

"Cool, well see ya" Amber said.

"See ya" I replied giving her a wave. "Cmon lets go" I said to Star.

"Yep" she replied while she continued walking. Soon after the converstion we got to the library. As soon we walked in StarFlight shot up.

"StarChaser? Coyote?" he said.

"Oh yeah its them" FateSpeaker replied for us.

"Yes we got to return some scrolls" I said, Star nodded her agreement. We walked closer to his desk and put our scrolls down in front of him he took out 2 scrolls with stamps on them one of them was the one he stamped he took out some ink and crossed it out he then did the same for Star.

"You're good to go" StarFlight remarked putting aside the scrolls. FateSpeaker started grabbing them retuning them to there old place.

"Thanks" I replied. "Are you gonna get a new scroll?" I turned to Star.

"No I think I'm just gonna go back to the cave" she replied.

"Same I'll probably get one tommorow." I said. At that we started heading back it was an uneventful walk back to the room.

"Hey guys!" Seaweed called as we walked in. "Guess what!?" he asked he sounded really excited.

"What?" I asked I knew he wanted me to ask.

"The rest of school is cancelled!" he yelled.

"Wait why?" I asked shocked how would school be cancelled?

"The whole sick Webs thing spread so we can pretty much do anything if we are not sick and stay away from goups of dragons" he shrugged he sounded bored somehow he had just sounded like he was on top of the world.

"So then what are gonna do today?" I asked.

"I don't know we could play games" Mountain shrugged Rain nodded in agreement.

"That still doesn't tell us what to do" Iceberg cut in.

"We can still go into rooms like music and art" Seaweed said we all nodded.

"Well what game are we gonna play then?" I asked.

"We could have some kind of competion" Iceberg proposed.

"That still leads us to the same problem" I replied. As I said this I thought back to a game I played quite a bit Chess (Guys I couldn't find anything to concrete but in the lost heir it metions the excitstance of it so yeah chess excist.) I hadn't played in a while since I lost my set.

"Hey guys any of you familar with Chess?" I asked still standing in the middle of the cave everyone nodded except Rain.

"I only really played hide and seek" she said.

"So do you guys want me to check if they got a chess set?" I asked pointing to the exit to the cave.

"Yeah sure" Seaweed said.

"Nice be right back" I said walking out the door. I saw out the corner of my eye Mountain glancing at Seaweed instantly he spoke up.

"Hey why don't I come with you?" Seaweed asked. I nodded and he shot up to catch up with me after we were out of ear shot.

"What was that about?" I asked Seaweed as we walked.

"Huh what do you mean?" he replied.

"The look Mountain gave you and then you wanted to come?" I said.

"Wow you do got shrarp eyes, anyway I'm pretty sure she wanted to talk with the others" he said shrugging.

"You got that from just a glance?" I asked puzzled at how he knew that from just a glance.

"Yep I'm used to looks like that where other dragons wanted to talk to their friends without me except Mountain gave a kinder look instead" he replied shrugging I was a little surprised I thought he would be best friends with everybody but I was wrong. I checked the map again so I knew which way was Sunnys office. We reached our destination pretty quick maybe that was just us running down the halls. We walked in front of the entrance.

"Hi, what can I do for you?" Sunny asked looking up from her writing.

"Oh we were just wondering if you got a chess set" I replied walking up to her desk Seaweed nodded in the back round looking around at other things on the shelfs.

"Yep give me a second." Sunny said walking into some sort of room after a few moments she walked out with a wooden box. "Here ya go" she said setting the box down on the desk. This had caught Seaweeds attention I guess he was to distracted to realize she already got the stuff.

"Thanks!" I said taking the box Seaweed nodded his thanks as we left the walk back was the same as the walk there. more of a run. As we neared the entrance of the Silver winglet we heard the others talking me and Seaweed made a face. "We're back!" I called right before we got into veiw silence insued as we came into the room I didn't know what was so important to them and I didn't really care though how they acted was quite weird.

"Uh nice" Mountain said nervously.

"Ok this is like the second time you guys were talking and then act weird after we get back, what is wrong?" I asked annoyed of the others antics well sometimes excluding Seaweed.

"Its nothing" Mountain shrugged I had to admit it was crazy how Mountain could change her persanality in mere seconds I shrugged not motivated enough to get a real anwser. I set the bored in the middle of the room arranging the peices in the right order while the others looked on talking about their own skill level I would like to think I'm pretty good.

"Who wants to go first but I want a game first so whos gonna play me?" I asked.

"I will!" Seaweed called coming up to the other side of the bored.

"Wait do you want to be the white or black peices?" I asked before making any moves.

"I'll stick with the black peices I don't need to go first to be you" he replied seeping confidence.

"Confident I like it but severley miscalculated" I said jokingly. Seaweed then nodded for me to make the next to move. I started with the kings pawn moving it 2 squares Seaweed copied my move I moved my knight attacking his pawn. he defended his pawn with his knight I moved my bishop to c4 he moved his queens pawn I supposed he was getting ready for an attack but its Seaweed who knew what he was thinking. I moved my queens pawn one squares also I had an alright postion. he moved his gh horse to f6 I repsonded with my knight to g5 Seaweed moved his h7 pawn attacking my knight. I moved my bishop from c4 to f7 checking his king he got out of the check moving his king to d7 I moved my queen to g4 checking his king again. He made the only move he could he brought his king to e7 I moved my bishop in front of his king to e6 of course his bishop on c8 took my bishop Seaweed couldn't resist. I took the bishop back with my queen getting checkmate winning the game, Seaweed looked puzzled he hadn't realized I had a checkmate.

"Good game!" he finally said.

"Yeah you did great" I replied holding out my talon he took it and we shook on a great game.

"I wanna go against Coyote!" Mountain cut in.

"You sure?" Seaweed replied. "He's really good" he added pointing to me. I felt a little embarased I was glad they thought I was good but I wasn't that good.

"Yep!" she replied.

"Ok, what color do you want?" I asked.

"Black I'll beat you the way Seaweed was going to!" she replied, I shrugged fine with the anwser I played my first move kings pawn one square she also moved her kings pawn two squares I responded with bishop c4 she moved her knight to c6 I moved my queen to f3 I was going for a scholars mate I could end this game pretty fast I didn't think Mountain was that good to see it I waited for her move finally she moved her queens pawn one square I quickly ended the game with queen to f7 it took Mountain a second to realized she'd been beaten.

"Oh wait, good game!" she said raising her talon I took it and we shook hands.

"So who else wants to go?" I asked waiting for a reply after a second with no takers Star raised her hand.

"Who you wanna go against?" I asked no one wanted to play me since they didn't want to look bad. after a little bit of Star looking thoughtful.

"You" she replied.

"You can be white then" I said flipping around the board I knew this would be difficult Star was a lot smarter at this type of stuff then the others Mountain didn't really have any chess skill and Seaweed was to quick to move. Star started with queens pawn 2 squares I reponded with the same move except on the other side of course. She moved her knight attacking my pawn I moved my c8 bishop to defend my pawn. Star thought for a moment she then moved her kings pawn one square forward I responded with knight to c6. Star moved her bishop to d3 instantly she had a plan I just needed to stop it. I moved my knight to f6 scanning for any attacks Star repsonded with a move I didn't think she'd play her kings pawn one step foward attacking my pawn I still had a little plan if she did it just wasn't as put together as the other moves I thought she'd make. I took with my pawn she took with her bishop instantly I took back with my knight she then took my knight with her repective knight. I moved my bishop to attack her knight she moved her knight out of danger with the move c5 or she thought she did. I moved my e7 pawn forward to e5 there was an attack on her knight and her pawn she would lose one of them just which one? She moved her knight to b3 I realized at that moment I could have got my game ruined if she found the move knight to b7. I took her pawn with my own she took with her knight I was quite confused that wasn't a great move. I took with my own knight she moved her pawn to attck my knight I moved it back to b5 she moved her queen to take mine I instantly took back with my king she moved her pawn again to to attack my knight she missed one thing though I moved my dark squared bishop to b4 checking her queen she blocked with her own bishop I took her bishop with my own she reponded with taking back with her king. I moved my knight to d4 she moved her b2 pawn two squares. I moved my rook to e8 getting ready for an attack Star moved her knight to attack my own. I moved my rook to f2 instantly she moved her king to c3 I moved my knight to c2 out of danger. She moved her king to b3 I took her rook with my knight she took back with her other rook I just moved my king one square forward. Star moved her knight to attack my bishop I moved my bishop to d3 she took my rook with her knight I took back with my bishop she attacked my bishop with her rook I protected it with my rook. Star thought for a few seconds.

"Wanna call this a draw?" she asked looking up holding out her talon.

"I thought you'd never ask!" I replied taking her talon we shaked talons and stood up from the board. I had finally heard all the backround noise everyone was surprised Star had got so far in the game I was puzzled by this as I said before I wasn't that good.

"That was crazy!" Seaweed remarked. "I didn't know I could get that excited over chess!" he added. The others were also chatting about what had happened.

"I'm gonna check out the art room" I said.

"Oh see ya later" Seaweed said waving. I turned around walking out the room I had brought my scarf I had been wearing all day and my library card just in case I wanted to go to the library. The walk there was slow chess was a lot of work mentally that is I just kind of walked in the direction of the art room. After a bit I got to the art room at first glance I didn't see anyone in there the only think I noticed was a sign I started reading.

"The art room is open just make sue you store your art work where your supposed to!" I finished reading with a shrug I had expected something like this anyway. I walked in picking out a canvas I picked out a few colors I had decided to draw a portrait of Seaweed maybe even surprise him with it. I started with an outline drawing details and the markings on his face I was pretty sure his markings could glow I was almost done with the outline when someone popped in.

"Oh hey Coyote!" Amber said walking into the room. "I didn't know anyone was in here?" she added.

"Yeah I'm drawing Seaweed" I said still finishing my outline getting ready for the paints.

"Cool I just wanted to draw something" Amber said shrugging.

"You like drawing?" I asked starting to mix paints.

"Done it ever since I was little" Amber replied walking up to pick some paper and charcol. We both worked on our art in silence we were hyper focused on our work I kept painting the blues and deep greens untill I ended up with something I thought Seaweed would expect I thought it was a pretty good painting better then some others I did. Amber also seemed to finish the same time I did as she looked up from her art. "You done?" she asked turning around.

"It still needs to dry but yeah" I said shrugging. I started taking the wet painting and moving it to the drying racks Amber picked up her art work over to me.

"What do you think?" she said as I looked over at the drawing it was a mountain range in black and white I had never seen anything like it she defined the mountains with only black and white.

"How did you do that?" I asked still shocked at how good it was.

"I donno know I just get into that state, if you know what I mean" she said shrugging I nodded knowing what she meant sometimes I don't know how I make art sometimes its just a blur.

"Well I'm gonna get going" I said Amber nodded as we both exited and went our seprate ways.
