Hello everyone maybe I'll get this chapter out faster then the last one but I think this chapter will be a good one. Let me know what you think of things and what would be better or if I should add something. See ya at the end of this chapter!
I awoke with a start I had just heard a big thud I was still in a sleeping postion so I couldn't see what it was. I slowly lifted my head only it to be Seaweed on the ground snoring he must have fell. What confused me was how heavy of a sleeper he was I was a light sleeper even little noises could wake me up. Scanning around the room Mountain and Star were gone everyone else was asleep. They must have also been tired from yesterday everyone was getting ready. I wrapped my scarf around my neck I also remembered to stuff some gold in there just in case. I carefully jumped over Seaweed who was still on the ground. Walking out of the exit I saw a few dragons talking in the hallway. I walked by a big group of dragons they were laughing when I walked past I wondered about what they thought was so funny. I wanted to check out the great hall and see how they changed it.
I contiued walking to the great hall till I arrived and walked in it was decorated with many different colors it looked pretty cool. I have never seen a room such as this, it was like I was in the palace with Queen Thorn.
"Oh hi" somone said from behind me I didn't reconize the voice. I turned around to see a male Seawing he had some golden braclets but nothing else his scales were teal closer to green.
"Hello" I replied I was a bit sceptical about this dragon not for any reason I just was.
"So you admiring the room" he said confidently.
"I guess yeah" I shrugged now I was just confused.
"Well I helped a lot with it" he continued.
"It looks good" I replied I wondered how many dragons helped with the makng of all this. "Wait I don't think I caught your name" I said before he could reply.
"Oh yeah the names Trench. You?" he said.
"Coyote" I replied quickly. After a few seconds another Seawing ran up to him wispered something to him and left.
"I gotta go. See ya around?" he said right away. I nodded and he ran off. Now I had nothing to do. I strolled around the halls waiting for something intresting to happen and surprisingly the world listened.
"I hate you!" someone screamed from around the corner their voice was filled with rage and sorrow. What had happened to this dragon.
"Cmon, I'm sorry!" someone else replied they sounded alarmed. I ran around the corner there was 3 dragons 1 female Skywing, a male Skywing and a female Sandwing. As I stood they all looked at me.
"Excuse me but whats the problem?" I said wondering why they seemed so mad.
"Whats it to you?" the male Skywing asked angerliy.
"Well you guys were screaming I wondered why" I continued. This dragon made me angry I didn't know why, maybe it was his tone or the way he held himself.
"This idiot was chatting it up with miss sunshine here!" the other Skywing yelled loudly. The Sandwing stood defensivly. "And on the day of the party!" the Skywing continued on her rant. Well this was turning into a great day. I thought sarcasticly.
"Goodbye!" she yelled and stomped away the tension in the air was thick. The Skywing spat on the ground and grumbled as he walked away followed by the Sandwing. I was left there stunned this party brought good and of course bad. I thought about where to go next the winglet cave was the first to come to mind I went on my way leaving behind what had just happened. Luckily the dragons I saw in the halls were a lot kinder. I walked into the cave and looked around, Seaweed was reading a scroll, Star, Mountain and rain were in the corner and Iceberg was figdeting with some sort of crystal.
"Hey man" I said to Seaweed he looked up in surprise before anwsering back.
"Oh hi, I thouht you died" he said. I gave him an annoyed look and he replied with a slight chuckle. I hopped over him quickly to my ledge above him. I looked through my chest for something to do, there was nothing except the stuff me and Seaweed bought. After a few moments Mountain and Star left. I started to get really bored we wouldn't have much to do untill tonight. So I decided to sleep to pass the time...
"Hey wake up" someone said shaking me.
"W-what?" I replied turning over.
"We got 2 hours before it starts" Seaweed said. I remembered now and I jumped up almost knocking Seaweed over. Looking around he was ready with all of the things he bought. So I dug in my chest to do the same. I slipped on the bow tie and the fabric bands around my ankles.
"They are gathering everyone in the great hall" Seaweed blurted. "The party might even start early!" he continued. I nodded and we ran out the door we hurried to the great hall very exicted. When we walked in it was dimly lit much more darker then usual which added to the atmosphere. It seemed everyone was here though I didn't see anyone I knew yet. After a few minutes Sunny took the stage and started talking but I didn't litsen when I heard a noise from the roof scanning I saw a dragon haning from the stalagtites. My heart skipped a beat I knew who this was except he was staring at something, I followed his stare and I saw it Dragon Flame Cactus. It was hidden in plain sight but from my years in the desert I knew the look of it. I looked back at the dragon he was charging up his flames his neck turning red. I needed to do something Sunny would be in the middle of the blast luckily I was near the stairs. I sprinted up them and yelled.
"Get down!" as I covered Sunny with my wings a bright flame flew over us just as I covered her and the wall behind us exploded I was blown off the stage with Sunny my senses were nonexistant except for my limitied vision my snout was filled with smoke and all I could hear was ringing staring up from my place on the ground I saw a black shape fly out to the cliff a lot of other shapes were scrambling to get away. I stared at the ceiling for what seemed like forever. Then I felt some talons start dragging me and that was the last thing that happened as I passed out...
"So no causiltys?" I heard someone say.
"Yeah Sunny would have died if it wasn't for him though" another voice replied. I opened my eyes and tried to sit up but I was to weak and fell right back down. That captured the attetion of the dragons in the room they all stared down at me. Tsunami, Clay, Seaweed and Artic was there.
"Hey man" Seaweed said.
"Hey, where am I?" I asked quickly I was confused about what happened I remeber getting blown off the stage and the cactus and all that but I still was confused.
"The medicine cave" Clay blurted.
"Wait is Sunnny okay?" I asked I hoped what I did helped instead of doing nothing.
"Oh shes pretty good thanks to you, see would be here now if she wasn't making sure everyone was alright" Tsunami replied.
"On the other talon your lucky to be here, thanks to Artic and Seaweed finding you in the cauos" Clay said. With that the two adults left leaving me with my friends.
"Dude that was epic!" Seaweed yelled.
"Yeah saving Sunny like that!" Artic added.
"Oh yeah your like a hero in the school everyone saw what you did" Seaweed added.
"Well thats a plus" I said laughing even though it hurt. "So how long will I be in here?" I added.
"Just a day or two but you will have to keep on those bandages for awhile" Artic said quickly. I thought for a moment a whole day with nothing to do but lay down. That will be great. I was annoyed I didn't regret my actions but I didn't like I would have to sit here for hours.
"Don't worry we'll stay with you" Seaweed said and Artic nodded. There was a glint in her eyes something I couldn't place. After a few moments Star rushed in LightFang followed behind her.
"Is he okay!?" Star yelled. I cringed back Star had never used this tone of voice it surprised me.
"Oh yeah he's doing good" Seaweed said.
"But look at that how can he be doing fine?" Star pressed. Now that I thought of it I didn't know what I looked like.
"Actully can I get a mirror?" I asked trying to sit up. Seaweed nodded and picked up a mirror and held it to me. I had bandages around my neck and around my chest and shoulder otherwise everything seemed fine. Though I probably had many internal injuries. I could certinly feel them.
"Hey how did you know the wall was about to explode" LightFang asked. I waited for a moment.
"I saw the Dragon Flame Cactus" I replied slowly.
"Ok but don't you need, well flame to set it off? Who did set it off?" he pressed.
"I don't know" I lied. I didn't want to tell them about it. LightFang wasn't satisfied with the awser but he stopped the questions.
"Well I think we gotta go" LightFang said his voice annoyed. I didn't know why.
"Oh uh okay" Star stammered. At that the both of them left. Seaweed took a place beside the bed that held me while Artic sat by the entrance.
"You guys sure you wanna stay here?" I asked. The both of them nodded and stayed in their places. Since I was so tired I went back to sleep maybe when I woke up I would be able to leave.
I opened my eyes of course I was in the same place staring at the same ceiling. Sitting up and looking around Artic and Seaweed were in the same place but both asleep. I was shocked they really stayed here like they had said. Then I focused on myself I was feeling great, full of energy I didn't want to get up with no super vision but I was getting restless.
"Oh hey!" Seaweed said from beside me. I jumped almost falling off the bed. "Are you feeling better?" he added after I calmed down.
"Yeah I am" I replied quickly I wanted to get out of here as quick as possible.
"Do you think you can walk?" he asked. I nodded quickly. He helped me down and I tried standing on my own it still hurt but I could do it without to much of a problem. I took a few steps and it was pretty much the same thing I could walk but it hurt a lot more but I would be able to get used to it.
"I'll let Clay know your ready to leave" Seaweed called running off. With the noise he made Artic jumped awake.
"Hello!" I said to her.
"Oh hi! You're good to go?" she replied she had a questioning look on her face like she didn't quite believe it.
"Yep" I said exitingly. She shrugged and we exited the medicine cave as Seaweed ran up to us.
"Clay said we're good to go if you feel well enough" Seaweed blurted almost running into me. So we went on our back to our winglet cave getting closer Artic devided off the group and went to her own cave. I didn't want to sleep again but there wasn't much else to do even though it was about morning which I picked up from the signs on the walk back. Remember the party was at night so when I got in the medicine cave it was pretty late so when I woke up a new day had come.
"I'll be right back!" Seaweed said sinisterly he also had a look I knew quite well he had the same expression many times and my sister to. Something bad is about to happen to me. I thought I had no chose but to wait I didn't want to ditch him so I thought I would give his plan a chance even if I didn't know what it was. Waiting near the entrance of the winglet cave for a few minutes waving at the passing dragons when Seaweed blast around the corner suprising a few dragons he was followed by a feamale Seawing. This confused me by the dozen what was he doing with this dragon what about Mountain?
"Excuse me Tide" Seaweed said to the dragon, I guess her name was Tide. Seaweed ran up to me and we walked a few yards away out of earshot.
"Dude who is that?" I said as soon as we finished walking away.
"Your new date!" Seaweed replied exictingly as soon as those words left his tounge I regretted not ditching him what was he thinking!? Getting a date for me? I didn't even know this dragon besides her name. "Good luck!" he yelled as he skipped down the hall. Now I was just angry he was just leaving it was exactly what Seaweed would do, now that I think of it. I turned around to Tide she had no defining items just her Sea colored scales a bit darker then Seaweeds.
"So whats up?" I asked nervouly and that was the truth I had never had a date except when I was asked to one.
"Oh nothing much" Tide replied back. I nodded. "You wanna hit up the Prey center?" she asked pointing back in the direction of it.
"Yeah sure" I replied quickly, so we started walking we walked if silence which didn't help me calm down. A bead of sweat ran down my neck Sandwings don't get hot but right now I was burning. We walked into the Prey center and had a short conversation I can't even remember what we said it was so bland, boring nothing like when I talk to my real friends. I needed to get out of here luckily Artic and Star came up to us followed by LightFang and an Icewing I didn't know.
"Ah hey" Artic called when she was close enough.
"Oh hi" I replied then I thought of an idea.
"Who's this?" Star asked her eye brow raised.
"Excuse me" I said turning over to Tide in which she nodded. I stood up and dragged the others a few feet away.
"So you gonna anwser the question" Star said clearly irriatated. I gave her a questioning look Star was acting a bit different with Tide here.
"Yeah, So thats Tide. My date" I said. I was slightly embarrased. I guess they didn't realize quickly but then they were shocked eyes wide gaping at what I had said.
"So you like her?" the Icewing said he was just as shocked which confused me I didn't even know him.
"Thats the problem I don't. Seaweed set me up" I said quickly. "Can you guys get me out of here?" I asked despertly. They nodded.
"Ok s-" I began to say only to be cut off by Artic.
"Sorry we need him!" she yelled pushing me out the door. I was startled by this sure I wanted to get out of here but this way was weird they continued pushing me all the way to my winglet cave. For some reason the other 3 followed I thought as soon I was out they would leave and I was out awhile ago.
"I wanted to introduce you to Seal" Artic said pointing over to the Icewing.
"You guys dating?" I asked it would make sense.
"What no!" she blurted. "He's my bestfriend!" she continued I nodded.
"Anyways we gotta go" They said and walked out leaving me alone so I jumped back on my ledge and let sleep take me.
