Hellooo! Whats up? How's life? Did you enjoy the last chapter? I hope so!
So, I meant to post this chapter on the 18th (you know, Percy Jackson's birthday), but it wasn't finished yet. But, it was finished on the 19th! But then, there was this weird bug, or something, and nothing was working. So, here I am (on the 20th) finally posting!
Did you guys hear abt the PJO show? We have the release date now! I am so excited! For those of you who don't know, it is being released on the 20th of December!
On another, completely unrelated note, have you guys watched High School Musical the Musical the Series? Bc it just keeps on getting crazier! And, just putting this out there, I guessed what happened with Seb and Carlos like... last January.
Hope you enjoy this next chapter! Please review, I loved reading them these past few days!
Disclaimer: I do not own PJO or MCU :))
Hazel P.O.V.
I smiled. Ever since the Giant War, I had been trying to be more optimistic. You know, living in the present, not the past or future.
So, I also tried not to think about the people from my past. Sammy, my mom, Mr Steve, and Mr Bucky. But, I can't help it. I think about them almost everyday. What my life could've been.
But then, I remember where I am now. With a brother, friends, a boyfriend, and a home. Thats much more than I could have ever asked for back then.
So, as I'm walking down the streets of New York, with Frank, I smile. My life is great. My friends are great. Frank is great.
I look around, there is nothing of interest around us, except for that long line of people. But even so, we're in NY, they could be waiting for anything. But then, I see the posters.
AVENGERS MEET AND GREET
is written in large, red letters and underneath is a photo of what I assume is the Avengers.
"The Avengers. huh. I've never heard of them." I say, "Are they something else I missed?"
"The Avengers?! We HAVE to meet them!" I shrug, and get in line with Frank.
We were really far back in the line, but I didn't mind. As long as Frank was happy.
As we worked our way up the line, Frank filled me in on the Avengers accomplishments. Though, even though I didn't want to, I must say, I did zone out a few times. So, all I heard in terms of names were Iron Man and the Hulk. Whoever they are.
I looked around me, surprised to see we were next in line to get inside. I stepped forward, and opened the door.
"I am so excited!" Frank gushed. I smiled, knowing I would do anything to make him happy.
I kept my eyes on him, as we finally got to the location of the Avengers Meet and Greet.
We entered the curtained room that held the avengers.
The first person I saw was a tall lady with fiery red hair.
I glanced at Frank, worried because I didn't know their names.
"Are you Hawkeye? Oh my gosh, you were the one who inspired me to learn archery! And Captain America, I'm a huge fan!" He went on praising the others in the room, but I felt frozen. I couldn't breathe. Captain America. I haven't heard that name since I died.
"Captain America." I muttered, "Thats not... that not possible."
I looked around the room once more, actually paying attention to the faces, this time.
Then, I saw him. The man from the photo.
"Mr. Steve?" I uttered
He looked at me, for the first time that day.
"Hazel?" he gasped, then went rummaging through his pockets. He pulled out the photo I took all those years ago.
I couldn't take it anymore. "Frank?" I whispered to him, "I will... I'll meet you outside. Ok? Take your time." He looked at me with a worried expression, but I was already out the door.
Steve P.O.V.
The last thing I was expecting at the meet and greet was to see somebody from my past.
The line of people I would have to talk to seemed endless. But, I powered through it.
Finally, when the line seemed to be coming to an end, a boy and a girl entered. They seemed really close. I wasn't paying much attention to them, but the girl seemed rather familiar.
I kept thinking back to the New Orleans visit with Bucky. Where we met Hazel.
I was trying to avoid zoning out, but then someone spoke something that brought be immediately back to the present "Mr. Steve?"
My head shot up and saw a girl looking straight at me. The first thing I noticed were her eyes. Solid gold. Just like Hazel's. But, it can't be. That is impossible. She must be old, and wrinkled by now.
But, I couldn't help but ask, "Hazel?" I went searching through my pockets, determined to find the photo she had taken for me all those years ago. I held it up for me to see.
Then, before I knew it, she was out the door.
I knew I would have to find her again.
