On December 6th, Skylia was buying a birthday present for Amber, making Angry Luigi come. She was not forcing the others to join her.
The Foxes were doing a meet and greet at the mall today, so they wouldn't be joining in the shopping, anyway.
"It's only on the 12th, plus wouldn't it be fun to see her?" Skylia says as Angry Luigi groans.
"Make Emma go." Angry Luigi says, unsure why everyone else gets to ditch, but not him.
"Because they have friends to see and events to be part of." Skylia says.
"So what do you want on your cake?" Melissa asked Melony.
"Yeah." Garrett says, feeling slightly annoyed about being dragged into this.
"I don't care, I hate shopping. Let's go Garrett I don't want a stupid cake right now." Melony says running off, taking Garrett with her.
"Melony, get back here! You're going to get hurt." Melissa says.
Melony ignored her. "Stupid sister, stupid parents, always asking for stuff. Do they take insensitivity classes or what? I'm blind for Pete's sake!" She says.
"Let me go!" Garrett says, but Melony wouldn't let go as her emotions got the best of her.
"All my parents see me as is an incompetent fragile girl. I was on ANH that time, yet they still say Garrett carried me. I can perform well on my own. I'm not helpless!" Melony says, starting to cry as she had no one who could understand her. Well, except Garrett.
She had knocked Garrett into a display window at the mall's music store, nearly hurting him. Garrett had a concussion, according to a staff member there.
"Garrett, son!" Forest ran to his aid. "Are you okay?!"
"My head hurts…" Garrett says.
"Let's get you home and into bed." Forest says as he takes Garrett to the manor.
"Melony, what did you do?!" Melissa screamed.
"I didn't mean it…" Melony says.
"Ugh, no wonder Mom and Dad wanted you at the hospital. Because you're you!" Melissa says.
"I didn't mean it, it was an accident!" Melony says as watermelons sprouted from the ground as Melony ran off. Her powers were out of control at this point.
At the manor, Forest had taken Garrett to his room and put an ice pack on his head. He then let Garrett lay on his bed.
"Are you okay?" Forest asked him.
"What happened?" He asked.
"You were knocked into the music store display window and fell and hit your head. The staff member who helped you said you got a pretty bad concussion." Forest says.
Melony could hear a police car and hid in an alleyway, scared out of her mind.
"Please don't let it be me…"she says as It passes her.
"Phew…" she said and ran. "I need to get out of here before it goes on the news." Melony says. She was really scared. She never intended to hurt him. She just lost control and now people would see her as a monster.
She stole a jacket and a hat and took some paint, painting her face. She put mud on her arms and made her hair look different.
She begins to walk on the streets and sees a news report of this. Charity was the mayor. Garrett was her son just as much as Luke was.
"Heh, at least they can't recognize me." She says as Bill tries using a lasso on her, but she dodges and goes into the sewers.
Angry Luigi and Alem tuber caught up.
"She's down there." Bill says as they climb down but a watermelon crushed them as Melony ran off.
With Kat, she and Ana used some weird stuff on Garrett to help him.
"What is it?" Luke asked them.
They shrugged. "It just helps your head after a concussion." Ana says.
"How do you feel?" Forest asked him.
"Good. That helped." he says.
"Thank Penny. She helped us make it." Kat says.
Meanwhile, Jason tries punching Melony, who punched Jason and kicked him and ran as she dodged Alex and Jack and climbed out of the sewers, trapping it with watermelons as the cosmic buddies were trapped in there.
Oliver flew in and actually caught her. She could no longer move, thanks to the scarves restricting her movements.
"No, no!" Melony sobbed. Melissa took her home as Oliver got rid of the watermelons blocking the sewer system.
"We just wanted to talk to her." Savannah says. They weren't actually trying.
Melony's heart was pounding. Any moment now, the cops would come for her.
"How could you do that? From now on, you're never leaving the house. You're too blind to be on the show." her father says.
Melony sobbed. She deserved to be punished for what she did. Being confined to the house would be better than jail at this point.
"Should we get back at her?" Stephen asked
"Guys, she's blind. I don't think she meant it." Garrett says.
"Still, she's weird." Luan says.
"Not funny." Lisa says, offended. But at this point, Charity had enough of her family's comments about this. Garrett had gotten hurt, end of story.
Savannah tries to enter Melony's house, but gets zapped and fell down.
"Dang, no wonder why Melony runs away. I thought Emma was clingy. She doesn't hold a candle compared to Melissa." Savannah says.
She tries a different route, but 4 dogs chased her.
She tried a different route as she was launched high into the skies and fell into New Jersey.
Melony sighed, crossing her arms and curling up into a ball. "I just wish I could tell Garrett I'm sorry…" She says.
"We need to get ready for the Christmas show soon." Penny says.
This particular show wasn't a competitive thing. The holiday special was a thing for the main teams to put on for everyone. It was being filmed in Royal Woods.
Shane was looking over his outfits for tonight's show.
"Shoot, we need your childhood friends." Remy says to Garrett.
"Melony is out of the show thanks to what she did to me." Garrett told Remy.
"Garrett, she's your childhood friend. Maybe she didn't mean it." Leni says.
"Her father said so." Garrett says.
"Oh, it's that bad?" Leni asked.
"He's overprotective of her." Melissa says.
"The point is, she's grounded from the show now and she can't leave her house anymore." Garrett says. "I know that she's sorry, but she needs to learn a lesson."
Mona was practicing with Mugman and her bandmates.
"We are so ready for tonight!" Art says.
Savannah was preparing as the 13th would be the Audition Christmas show. It was just for fun, plus she was also doing fundraising for kids.
With Luke, he was thinking of his birthweek.
"They're going to ruin it!" He sobbed. "Something will ruin it! I know it!"
He threw a fit as Luna had to calm him down.
"Melony, we're moving." Her father says
"What?! No, you can't do this to me!" Melony says.
"Give me one good reason why we shouldn't move." Her father says.
"I like it here! There's good people." Melony says.
"Those cosmic buddies are nothing but trouble. They made you hurt Garrett, didn't they?" Her father asked
"No, it wasn't them!" Melony says.
"Oh can we move to Royal Woods my friend Garrett is there" Melissa says
"No. I heard that Randy kid is there, so no." Her dad says.
"Come on!" Melissa pleaded.
"No." Boston says. Melissa made the decision to move to Royal Woods on her own. Melony was the reason Garrett got hurt.
"I can't stand my girls getting hurt." he says.
"Wait, but I didn't do anything!" Melissa says.
"That Randy kid has a lot of enemies. I don't want you in the crossfire." Boston says, dragging Melissa outside.
"I won't and I don't interact with them. I never did try to talk to them or even be near them, anyway. And besides, I don't do that hero stuff." Melissa says. "I don't want to hang out with them, anyway."
"Fair enough." Boston sighed in defeat. "Fine. We'll move there. But there will be some rules."
They arrive at Royal Woods as the show will be starting soon. But Melony wouldn't be part of it.
"So much for being part of the team." Melony says. She was planning to be the first blind girl to win a show like this, but she blew it and worse, she couldn't apologize. But Melissa decided to take Melony to apologize to Garrett.
"Garrett, I'm…I'm so sorry I hurt you. I just lost control of my emotions and I only let my emotions out around you. If I'm not in the show anymore, that's okay. Just please forgive me. I really am sorry. I'll do anything to make it up to you! Anything besides helping on Luke's birthweek!" Melony says. She still wanted to be in the show, but she needed some time to redeem herself.
"Well, you can start by apologizing to the Royal Woods Mall manager for ruining her establishment. Then I think you need to learn how to handle your emotions better. And as for how you can make it up to me…" Garrett says before thinking.
"Help design the cake for the final day of Luke's birthweek. Stephen and Savannah have the other days covered." Garrett says.
"I can't, I'm blind." Melony says, waving her hand across her face. Garrett thinks again.
"You could help out around my house for a week." Garrett says.
"Deal." Melony says.
Soon, the show was beginning as Gemma and Dave appeared on the Christmas-themed stage.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the America's Next Hitmaker Christmas special!" Dave says.
"As you know, this particular special is not affiliated with the competition. It's just our way of spreading some Christmas joy and cheer to all of you!" Gemma says. "Our main teams will be performing two sets of holiday hits for you all to enjoy from home or right here in our live audience!"
The Foxes got ready for their first holiday song performance as they appeared on stage first, performing Perry Como's It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas.
The crowd was loving their harmony. Soon, they finished as the crowd cheered.
Kali got ready.
"Coming up next, a team who loves adventure, the Adventure Kids!" Gemma says.
They take the stage and begin performing the Glee rendition of We Need A Little Christmas. The crowd just loved it.
Sal was getting ready, and so were Luke, Shane, and Penny. They all were wearing elf outfits, hats and all.
The Adventure Kids soon finished as fans cheered for them. Gemma and Dave then come to introduce the next group.
"Coming up next, the stars of the show…" Dave began to say.
"Luke, Luke, Luke!" Fans chant.
"Shane, Shane, Shane!" More fans chanted.
"Penny!" Some guys screamed.
"That's right! The cutest elf trio straight from Santa's workshop, Luke Huntington, Shane Loud, and Penny Crygor! And their supervisor, Sal! They're here to remind you of a very important person who will come to town very soon!" Gemma says.
The crowd cheered as the group began their performance of Santa Claus Is Comin' In A Boogie Woogie Choo-Choo Train by The Tractors.
Fans cheered. Girls and guys screamed for them.
Penny smiled as she danced.
Once they finished, the crowd screamed for them. Once they arrived backstage, they all got some water.
"Next round is a duo round. Did we figure out which two of us would go out on stage for that?" Penny asked Luke, Shane, and Sal.
Mugman grinned as he was ready to rock the stage.
"Ladies and gentlemen, next on our stage is Mona, Art, Deco, and a guy you all love…" Dave says.
"Mugsy! Mugsy! Mugsy!" The crowd chanted and cheered.
"That's right! Mugman!" Gemma says. "Give it up for this group that's going to make the jingle bells rock!"
The crowd cheered as the group performed Jingle Bell Rock. Girls were shrieking with excitement as they watched Mugman. Guys couldn't get enough of Mona as she sang and danced.
They kept going as Kat and Ana cheered. Soon, they finished the performance as the crowd roared.
After Garrett, Remy, Beau, and Melissa performed Blue Christmas with Garrett singing lead, it was break time and the time to pick duos for the second round.
"Shane and I should be the duo to represent our team." Penny says.
Luke shrugged. "Sure. Why not." He then loses himself in thought.
"You did great, Sal." Savannah says.
"Yeah!" Bill says.
"You deserve more credit." Melony says, unaware her father was in the crowd.
Luke was quiet for the rest of the break. In fact, he just straight up left the show venue. No one would miss him.
Lucy follows him.
"JUST LEAVE LUKE ALONE!" Luke screamed. Lucy fell down, stunned, but let him go.
Luke then mutters to himself. "If they love Shane so much more than they love me, then that is just fine." He says to himself. "He can have the spotlight for all I care. I'm sure he just craves it. Just forget I ever performed tonight. All anyone can talk about is Shane and Penny now. I'm not so important anymore."
He then plans to make adjustments to his guest list as he takes it out of his shoulder bag.
Lucy finds Charity.
"I heard him, sweetie." Charity says.
"I tried my best." she sighed.
"This isn't about his birthweek for once, honey. You did nothing wrong." Charity told her.
Later, everyone was eating. Luke had nothing to say to anyone. All he could do was listen as everyone was praising Shane and Penny for their singing in the first round. It made Luke sick inside and he immediately lost his appetite.
"I just lost my appetite." Luke says, slamming down his fork and cup before walking out.
Everyone felt bad as Penny felt like she was to blame.
Luke sat outside, sulking. Luna came out to see him.
"I thought you did great." Luna says and begins feeding him.
"They think Shane and Penny are better than me." Luke says. "So, I'm leaving my team high and dry on the next show. It's obvious the fans don't want me. They want the cute power couple!"
"Welcome to our world." Alem tuber says as Luke was kinda in their shoes.
Jason pats Luke on the back, not going to say much.
Luke storms back in and points at the couple. "I'm leaving the team! Next show, you are on your own!" Luke screamed.
"Look, I was thinking, you and Shane should sing and I'll go home." Penny says and leaves for the Mushroom Kingdom.
"The world that's never safe." Sal thought as Melony sat next to Luke.
"I never thought I'd meet someone who was similar to me. I had no idea you had the same condition as me. I understand your pain. Everyone is treating you like you don't matter and ruining your life." Melony says.
"The fans can see I no longer matter. Everyone loves Shane and Penny more than they love me now." Luke sniffed.
"These idiots just want the show to be a romance drama music show now. That really sucks." Melony says.
Luke goes off to tell Gemma and Dave their group won't be doing a second round performance.
"You okay?" Dave asked. Luke started to sob uncontrollably.
The show was put on pause for the night; the 2nd part would return on a different date when Luke was ready.
"Penny?" Ashley asked, walking around and noticing Penny in her mansion.
Kat and Ana looked worried about Penny.
"I'm sure she'll be fine." Mona says as she was going to take her leave, but Ana held her leg.
"Ana, let go." Mona says. Ana sniffed.
At the manor, Luke just stormed into his room and slammed his door.
"They're on their own in the next show! I'm so done right now! It's obvious they don't want or need me!" Luke screamed. Shane frowned, feeling horrible for Luke.
"Your girlfriend caused this and you just let her hurt Luke." Lucy says.
"I think it was the fact that they decided to go out during the duet round and that made him feel unneeded." Charity says. "And I guess when they got praised for their first round performance, it made him really upset."
"Yeah, exactly. She didn't want him in the duet round, making him feel useless when he deserved to be in it." Lucy says.
"Enough. Luke is emotionally shattered and I think Luna should talk to him instead of you. She knows what he's dealing with right now." Charity says.
Lucy walked off.
"I'm quitting the show." Penny sighed.
"You know Luke doesn't mean anything he says when he's upset." Mona says. "I would know, considering me and Mugsy see him in that state from time to time."
"I shattered him. I suggested to go with Shane. Just leave me alone." Penny says.
Her grandfather entered the room. "Did I just hear my granddaughter say she was a quitter?" Dr. Crygor says.
"Leave me alone, Grandpa!" Penny snapped. Ashley and Mona gasped. They knew Penny was upset and guilty. But they also knew that Luke didn't want her to quit. She just didn't understand how Luke's mind worked.
Penny covered her mouth. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it." Penny says.
"Does somebody need a hug?" Dr. Crygor asked Penny. She nodded, looking down. Dr. Crygor removed her glasses and held her close as she sobbed freely.
Kat and Ana kicked the door down. "Ninja kick!" They say.
"We're having a moment here, girls." Mona says.
"Yeah, and the forest is on fire. Let's go!" Kat says as Penny gasped.
"How did I not notice?" Dr. Crygor asked.
"We were too busy focusing on Luke. That's kinda embarrassing." Mona says as Kat had a grappling hook and tosses it to a house as everyone got to safety.
5-Volt hugged Ashley, 9-Volt, and 18-Volt.
Luna entered Luke's room and saw him shedding tears.
"Luke?" Luna asked
"What, Luna?" Luke sniffed.
"What's wrong?" Luna asked.
"Does my team need me anymore? It feels like all the fans want is Shane and Penny." Luke sniffed.
"They do need you, Luke. You're the main reason your team always wins. You're the star." Luna says
"They were praising them like a heavenly musical duo and leaving me in the dirt." Luke sniffed. "I sure feel unneeded."
"Luke, how many records do you have? Because you have more fans than anyone." Luna says.
"I don't know. Less than Shane!" Luke snapped.
"You have more fame than Shane, plus he needs you." Luna says.
"I'm sure he does…" Luke sniffed. "I'm sure he needs me to polish all his platinum records and the 500 Grammys he's won. And all those framed albums of his."
"Luke, he wants you to be part of the team." Luna says.
"As his servant, I'm sure." Luke sniffed. Luna holds him.
Melony was thrown in her room.
"Don't I at least get dinner?" She asked as there was no response. Melissa had decided to stay at the manor with Garrett, in which her stuff was moved there as well.
Melony sighed. She tried looking out the window, but got zapped.
Meanwhile, Delta tries punching Chrissy, who dodged as the cosmic buddies were training.
Sal felt bad for Luke as he trained alone. He wished there was something he could do to help Luke.
"Okay, that's it for today. Let's go inside for some hot cocoa." Savannah says as the hero team goes inside.
Luna tucks Luke in as Luke cries himself to sleep. She slept with him that night.
