Collision Course
Jade's Jar was glowing, likely from all the life force it fed off.
A few bodies were on the ground, aged from the ritual of the Artifact.
Vernal was on the ground released from the restraints and stared at Raven who was holding the jar.
Now it was finally her turn.
She stepped back away from her. "Get away."
Raven walked forward with a blank but disappointed face.
"Stay back!" She yelled aiming her hands to fire Sever at her. But she couldn't, she still had the Aura Restraints on.
She took one of Vernal's hands and placed it on the Jar's top.
Her life force was going to be taken from her.
Raven looked down at her ex-protege as if wondering what to do.
Vernal shook and looked up at Raven looking at all the corpses surrounding her.
"Raven, I would have died for this tribe, I did what I had to." She lamented staring into her blank stare. "I'm sorry, let me go and you will never see me again."
Raven looked down at Vernal remembering how they met.
She was a young girl, alone in the mud, she was the survivor of a village that was overtaken by Grimm. They were meant to raid it but found her instead. Raven took her in and trained her, not long before Cher came into their life.
"Wait," Cher said looking at the pathetic form of Vernal. "I have some questions I want from her."
Raven looked to the side for a few seconds hearing what Cher had to say.
Vernal said nothing but was paranoid seeing her silent for so long while trying to break free of her grip.
"Cher, why did you kill her?" Raven asked out of nowhere.
Vernal looked up at her in confusion. "Cher? What do you mean."
"Answer, now," Raven said to her.
"You remember, it's because you ordered me to, it was an order."
The former Maiden already knew that it wasn't what she was looking for.
"Yes, but why didn't you refuse?" Raven asked. "Did you not care for her? She trained alongside you, you were there for her when she doubted herself."
Next to her Cher looked at Vernal expectingly.
Vernal answered honestly not sure what else she should do.
"Because she didn't deserve that power." She replied. "She was a pathetic nobody wasting it, I thought you were more fitting to be a Maiden."
Raven didn't bat an eye and glanced at Cher.
Cher remembered when they were kids at the same age, how she trained alongside her. She comforted her when she was at her lowest. But just like with Raven, it was all an act for her power.
"Ok," She gritted her teeth. "Do it."
Raven nodded and looked down at Vernal.
She didn't want to do this, but it was what her partner wanted.
"Alright, you can go."
"What? Really?"
The Bandit Chief nodded and placed the jar back on the pedestal.
"Yes, you can go, I've gotten what I wanted."
Vernal looked around to see all the victims her tribesman.
"I've taken away all that I've given you, you are all alone again." She said to her.
Knowing Raven, she thought that this was some kind of trick, she would never do this.
"You are just letting me go?"
Raven smirked and shrugged. "Yes, you will be released and free to go wherever."
Vernal was relieved to hear that she never felt like she truly escaped death until now.
Cher smirked at what was going to happen next.
"Just so you know, I placed a bounty on you."
"What?"
The former bandit stood up and crossed her arms.
"I made sure to spread the word that the last of the Branwen Tribe is just you to all of our enemies." She said to her. "On top of that, I've offered up a reward with as much money as I can get from my private stashes, for any who take your head not just in Anima, but the entire criminal underworld."
Everyone that had a score to settle with the tribe, or money hungry was now going to chase after Vernal.
All her contacts would be useless.
Not to mention she was wanted by the authorities.
There was nowhere she could hide, no one she could turn to.
Her eyes widened. "W-why?" She asked.
"Vernal" Raven started. "I gave you everything, I found you all alone in the mud, dying." She reminisced a few years before meeting Kron. "But after I picked you up, you took my tribe, you betrayed me, you just kept taking. So I took everything from you and you will now spend the rest of your days, hunted." She said to her. "Just like Cher did before we found her."
Vernal's eyes widened, she was still on her knees, knowing her life was over.
Raven dragged Vernal to the door leading outside. "One more thing." She whispered in her ear. "If I die, I will think of you, if you're still alive Salem will hunt you down along with everyone else."
She was pushed outside and fell to the ground.
Her eyes widened as she looked around, she turned to Raven with fear the same fear she had when they first met.
"Raven, don't do this." She said. "I'm sor-
Lightning fell next to her terrifying her.
Raven glared down at her backstabber. "Run along, or I'll take a limb."
The bandit looked up at her former teacher, regret gripped her heart. She wished she could go back, go back, and remain loyal to her. She stood up and ran out of the base into the woods without looking back.
"Satisfied?"
Cher watched her ex-comrade run through the forest like a scared rabbit.
"Yeah," She chuckled. "Now it's her to run in fear, just like I did."
Raven looked all around her at the corpses of what was left of the Branwen Tribe. She used to go on and on about how they were her family, that she was dedicated to making them better than they were when her father Corvus led the tribe.
Only to be betrayed by the family she sacrificed everything for.
If only she stayed with her real family.
"I know you wanted to kill her," Cher said to her. "To take her fear, thank you."
Raven was surprised to hear that from her, this was the first time she heard her thank her since their 'reunion'. She looked ahead watching her protege run, feeling a sense of satisfaction. She would have wanted to take her fear but she also wanted to make good with Cher since she will be integral to her plans going forward.
"We're partners in this Cher, I'll go along with any request as long as you help me put an end to him." She was honest and Cher knew it, that's where their partnership worked.
Sienna crossed her arms as walked towards Raven.
"Are you done?"
Raven nodded and grabbed the Jar. "Yes, the jar is ready."
Everything will end now, all the struggles, all losses she suffered will finally be avenged.
Now it was time to end her greatest mistake.
It was time to end Kron.
But first, she had to set the stage for him.
And ensure her daughter will be safe.
Raven looked at her old life, now that they were gone it was time to move on. "We have a few hours, take the time to make preparations, I need to make my own."
Sienna looked down at her cybernetic leg and back at Raven. She nodded knowing this was something they would only have one shot at. She walked away to prepare her gear.
Raven lifted the jar and looked at it for a few seconds.
"Don't worry, even though we ended on bad terms, you will still help me against our greatest enemy. We will win, together like we should have." Raven said to the jar.
Just a few hours and then it will end.
Vale
Ruby was having an interesting time.
She was supposed to be on the lookout for Kron but then this girl came up.
Penny, she was pretty odd but she was pretty fun in a way.
She was more than friendly, like the opposite of her when she was going to Beacon and Yang wanted her out of her shell.
"Wow, you're right Ruby these comics are really fun!" She said looking through the comic book section of Dusty Pages.
"See I told you!" She yelled giggling.
"Hmm" She opened a sanctioned one that looked like a robot suit. "Though these circuits the way they are illustrated are not very accurate." She judged.
"I mean there supposed to be for fun Penny, they don't have to be accurate, right?" She asked. "I mean think of movies they're not always on reality, it doesn't mean their bad."
"Movie," Penny said putting a hand on her face. "Oh right, I see."
Ruby looked at her strangely.
"Have you not seen a movie?"
The girl drummed her fingers together as if she were nervous. Because she was, she hasn't had the time to be a normal girl ever since the Scourge of Anima raised alarms with General Ironwood.
"I haven't had the time."
Ruby looked at her new friend sadly and looked at her scroll.
She was surprised to see a text from Yang, with a message.
As much as she wanted to stay and offer a movie she could watch with Penny she knew that she couldn't ignore it.
Ruby looked at the saddened Penny and smiled.
"Penny" She got the intention of the girl. "I have to go, but how about we meet up for a movie? Does that sound fun?"
Penny's eyes widened hearing that and she smiled.
"Yes, please! It sounds so fun!" She got up and embraced Ruby in a hug.
"Guh!" This is almost as tight as Yang's hugs. "Hehe, yeah it will be."
Once they separated they waved goodbye while Penny was smiling happily, she made a real friend. Sepia is a friend to her, but she feels like she met an actual friend like a normal girl would.
If only she had been able to come for the Vytal Festival.
She sighed, she had a mission she had to try and find the Scourge of Anima.
It was even more important now that she had made a new friend. And she'll make sure that she's safe from him.
Kron stood outside a building as Yang walked inside.
Once she was out of sight the Saiyan took out his scroll and put in Blake's number.
"Kron?" Blake's voice was heard on the other end. "Listen! Yang she-"
"Found Raven I know." Kron interrupted. "Call Kali now, make sure she's alright."
"What why?" She asked panicked.
"Raven gave me a message, she threatened your mother."
"What?! Is she safe? Did she take her?!"
"I don't know, that's why I said to call her, let your father know they're in danger, and make sure she can't find them," Kron said before hanging up.
He glared thinking of the idea of Raven going after Kali, he clenched his fists in rage at the thought.
She's going to die screaming for that.
But for now, he had to be calm, emotions lead to mistakes. One of her lessons has truth in it.
For now, he must remain calm, in a few hours he will allow all his rage out in a few hours.
That's the only positive in this situation.
Yang walked into a building that she had been to a couple of times.
Guilt filled her at everything that happened, this could have been avoided if she had not kept such an important secret from her father and uncle.
Once she was in front of the private cell she pressed a button and was allowed in.
To her surprise it was empty, she punched the wall in response and walked out.
As she exited the building Kron stood with his arms crossed.
"You were right," Yang said to him. "My dad and uncle are gone."
Kron nodded and put a hand to his chin. "That's one thing to watch out for, she's going to have them fight me at her side."
"I haven't talked them down, but they wouldn't fight at her side."
The Saiyan looked at her while raising an eyebrow.
"Trust me, they wouldn't, I know my dad and uncle, they wouldn't just join her."
Kron shook his head and turned away. "You know them, but you don't know Raven." He noted. "The hag has always been manipulative, twisting the truth, using those she calls allies, she will know what to say to get them on her side even temporarily." He explained as he looked at the scroll.
Yang put her arms to their sides and shook her head. "Even after kidnapping Ozpin?"
"Ozpin lied to them and sent them on a mission to recruit the woman I wanted to kill," Kron stated. "It will make them pretty easy to turn on him." He noted and crossed his arms. "Also it's to protect you."
She shook her head. "You had plenty of chances to hurt me, they know you haven't."
Kron thought of the last time he fought them. "True, but I wouldn't expect them to use their common sense."
"What?" She asked annoyed by him insulting him.
"When I saw Qrow he was different, he seemed more volatile, unstable, like he was obsessed with nothing more than killing me." He remembered the glare he gave him. like he was a man possessed.
Yang seemed to ease up a bit seeing that he wasn't insulting her family. "Wasn't that because they thought you were going to hurt me?"
"True, but neither of them listened to what you had to say and kept trying to beat me down. Sound like anyone else you know?" He asked.
Yang remembered how he encountered her team and went after her specifically even when Blake was trying to talk him down. It was only after she had told him to fight her alone instead of her team that he calmed down and put thought into what he would do next.
Her father and uncle were never like that.
"I'm not sure what Ozpin did to make them stronger, but clearly, it affected their minds making them more aggressive and willing to do anything to destroy their target, making it easy for Raven to fight with her." He looked over at Yang and crossed his arms. "Especially to protect you."
Yang sighed realizing he had a point, Ozpin's training not only made them strong but more uncontrollable. "So what do we do?"
Kron wondered that as well, Ozpin knew Raven longer than he did, he was hoping he would have insight in what she would do. He knows she had the White Fang at her side, now Taiyang, and Qrow who were not weak. But even the three of them together, does she think they would be enough to take him down? It has been a while since she fought him, she might not know how strong he is exactly.
"I just messaged my team, they're going to meet us at Beowulf Brew, you think Garnet will mind if we go to the arena?"
"She knows that Ozpin is aware of her arena, she should be fine with it." He said to her. "But why involve them, they won't be of any help."
Yang glared at him. "I know I'm the strongest on my team, but that doesn't mean they can't help. Besides Blake, this concerns her, right? She has a right to be involved if she wants."
Kron shrugged his shoulders seeing her point.
"Fine, let's go."
The duo flew off outside of Vale.
As they did Kron watched Yang not struggling with the technique, she wasn't keeping up with his speed but still, he was impressed that she was flying like this.
"So tell me, what was she like?"
"Huh?"
"The hag," Kron said. "Was she any different from what I've told you?"
Yang frowned thinking of her first encounter with her mom. She remembered when she was a kid that she expected better of her. She thought maybe she had a long mission she had to do and couldn't stay with her father, maybe it was to protect her from something. But after meeting Kron she found out the real reason why.
It just wasn't in her nature.
"No" Yang admitted. "She's everything you said, a liar, a trickster, and a hypocrite." She sighed. "She tried to hide what happened between you to make it look like she was the good guy."
Kron was silent though part of him wanted to smirk thinking how Raven was known to be a coward before her daughter. How the hag has remained the same and is seen as such to her flesh and blood.
"Neither of us was good, she was just the one who started the fight."
Yang looked at Kron who was looking ahead and remembered what Blake had said.
"Maybe not then, but now definitely."
The Saiyan said nothing as he flew in silence the rest of the way.
Yang was happy that she was starting to get on good terms with him again and could now see what Blake saw in him. Someone who's becoming better than what they were.
Vale
Blake was on her way to meet up at this strange cafe, she held up her scroll with a worried face.
"Blake?" A man with black hair and a beard spoke. "I'm happy to see you."
She sighed happy to see her after so long. "Dad, are you ok? Is mom ok?"
"Yes, why wouldn't we be?" Ghira asked. "What's wrong?"
"Dad, you need to get more guards, you're in danger."
"Why?" He asked. "Did something happen? Was it with the White Fang?"
"No Dad." She said slowly. "It's Raven, she threatened mom."
"Raven?" Ghira remembered that name. "Why?"
Blake looked guilty for a few seconds and thought it was no use hiding it.
"I met Kron, Raven threatened Mom, you need to keep her safe."
Ghira looked shocked. "What is going on? Blake, you need to come home now."
He didn't distrust Kron but he didn't want her anywhere near Raven.
"Sorry Dad, I have to go, please stay safe."
"Bla-!"
She turned off her scroll and kept going to where Yang messaged her to meet.
Kron is the strongest she's ever met, she knows she can take care of himself. Still, she knew of Raven and how crafty she could be, no matter how strong he was she knew not to underestimate her.
Also, there was that woman who was on his trail, there was something about her that she didn't like. She needed to warn him about it.
Little did Blake know, someone was following her not far behind and unable to see.
"Penny" The invisible woman whispered. "I found something follow my coordinates."
"Roger!" Penny said enthusiastically. "Sorry, I just met a new friend her name's Ru-"
"Penny?" She whispered in a scolding tone.
"Sorry on my way."
Sepia sighed, this android was innocent she'd almost forgotten she was a robot.
Far Away
Ozpin awoke, his vision groggy from the beating he received from Raven.
Once he was awakened he realized that he was bound, likely by Aura restraints, either his Magic or his Ki could be used to break free but he knew better than to do so right away. He wouldn't want Raven of all people to know he had Ki.
He expected Raven to be in front of him to ensure he wouldn't escape.
But instead of her, there were two other familiar individuals.
He looked saddened as his vision cleared up, one was a man with a familiar red tattered cape and blade at his hip. The other was a man with a brown jacket and golden bracers.
Qrow turned to look at Ozpin and tapped his partner's shoulder.
Taiyang turned around and looked at Ozpin with his arms crossed.
The headmaster said nothing and looked down at his restraints. It made sense, Raven knew them as much as he did, and they would be ripe to join her cause.
Taiyang turned around not having anything to say.
Qrow just kept staring at Ozpin with a disappointed look, he waited for a few seconds expecting him to say something, and ask why they would do this. Anything at all.
"We know you can get out of those cuffs." The drunkard said to him. "Feel free to break out of them, use your magic, or ki or whatever it's called." He said to him looking away from him.
Ozpin looked at his cuffs, he could break out of them easily and restore his Aura if he wanted to.
"Go on." Qrow offered. "It's fine if you wanna break out of them, just know that we're not letting you go if you do."
The Headmaster didn't respond he only looked at his cuffs and then looked into Qrow's eyes saddened.
"Does she know?" Ozpin finally spoke. "That I learned his power?"
Taiyang didn't respond he was glaring while crossing his arms, focusing on Ozpin for any tricks he had up his sleeve.
"No" Qrow responded. "We didn't tell her about that."
Ozpin was surprised to hear that and looked at Qrow.
"We don't exactly trust her." The huntsman said. "Frankly we don't know who we can trust." He glared at him. "But for the moment, our interests align."
The headmaster was grateful to hear that and got on his knees.
"I see" He put the pieces together what the point of keeping him here was, he wasn't strong enough to be a threat to Raven by himself, she should know Kron wouldn't resort to relying on someone else in battle. That only leaves one thing, she doesn't want him to warn him about what she has. "You're keeping me here, to prevent me from warning him about Jade's Jar."
"So you didn't tell him," Qrow said to him. "You knew what she was after and you kept it from him, guess I'm not surprised, you don't trust anyone."
Ozpin sighed as he looked at his cuffs. "You're going to let her perform the ritual?"
"On the Branwen Tribe?" Qrow asked. "A bunch of thieves and killers? Seems like the perfect end to them to me."
The Headmaster clenched his fists. "I told you the true cost of the Jar."
"You did," Qrow replied. "You also said that once you are trapped in the jar there's no air in it for the target to breathe, we don't need to keep the jar shut for long, just for a day and we can open it again." He replied. "Once we do, Yang will be safe and no one else has to suffer. Even those bastards don't deserve it."
Ozpin had some comfort hearing that, but at the same time, fear took place.
"And after you release, Kron's corpse, will Salem be next?"
"I didn't say that," Qrow said as though it were obvious that'd be wrong.
"That's what she's intending," Ozpin said as though it were fact. "Did you tell her the cost?"
"She knows."
And she would pay that price if it meant trapping Salem even if many have to suffer long after she's gone.
Even though Qrow despised him right now, he still felt for him and knew that it wasn't worth it to keep her at bay. "We won't let her." He said to him "While I would love the idea of putting Salem in a jar forever, I know how fucked up it is to trap others in that hell for eternity."
The Headmaster hoped that was the case, trapping Salem was only temporary, to keep it shut you must continuously sacrifice into it, any who feared the name Salem. And the sacrifices suffer along with the Jar's prisoner.
Qrow continued to talk as if he wanted to put him at ease.
"We have a temporary truce with her, we're going to help seal him away," Qrow explained. "After that, we'll deal with our differences."
It wasn't ideal but at least their team is working together again.
"I have no right to tell you anything," Ozpin admitted. "I kept things from you, but please allow me to say this."
Neither of them showed they wanted to hear it but they also didn't not object to it.
That was enough for the ancient man.
"Kron is not who you think he is, Yang is not in danger by him."
"If that's true why didn't you tell us?"
"I wanted to ensure that he was not the threat we believed him to be first." He said. "I didn't want to tell right away while your minds are still adjusting."
"Adjusting?" Qrow asked. "You think we're crazy?"
"No" He responded. "You are nothing like the first users of the Void Vault." He remembered the first user killed himself after walking outside, the second attacked everything around them and the third ran straight to Salem only to die in her army of Grimm.
"However" Ozpin continued. "I know you not yourselves." He looked at Taiyang who had said nothing about the situation. "This isn't you?"
"You mean not following your orders?" Qrow asked with spite.
"No, you would know better than to fight at Raven's side, against someone you don't know."
For a second Tai and even Qrow wanted to strike him, but they were able to keep their cool. While they had disdain for him they didn't want to lose control.
"Fine, then tell us, what kind of person is he?" He asked. "Why do you trust him so much?"
Ozpin hoped they would listen.
"Kron is someone who keeps his word, he will follow through with his promises, and despises trickery." He explained. "He is also paranoid, he believes only to trust a few, not too long ago he made his assumptions, recently however he has learned to hear anyone out who wronged him." He thought of how his last conversation with him. "He was furious when he found out about you going after Raven and deceiving you, however, he heard me out and has allowed our deal to continue."
Qrow tightened his fists and sighed. "He was also a part of the Branwen Tribe slaughtered innocent people, all with a smile on his face. Raven told me all about it."
"He did" Ozpin admitted. "He also met someone, changed for the better, and started doing the right thing." He said to him. "Does that sound different to your story?"
Qrow's eyes widened hearing that remembering his younger days when he and Raven were kids. While Raven did end up more dedicated to the tribe, he was the one who shed innocent blood first. He remembered that little boy, how his parents screamed when he murdered his first victim. Then the day came when Corvus sent him and Raven to Beacon Academy to learn how to kill huntsmen as efficiently as possible.
Then he met Ozpin who seemed to have been interested in his team, he was kind to him without ever needing to be ruthless. And Summer saw the good in everyone and brought out the good in everyone. He and even Raven questioned what they were doing in the Branwen Tribe.
He even felt guilt for his actions just to get his father's approval, something he thought was a weakness from his old man.
When he was sent after Kron heard that he was no longer killed, he thought it was possible to ally with him or at least turn against Salem. He thought like him he also found some decency in himself.
And he only knows what Raven told him. How does he know she isn't deceiving him right now?
He felt a hand on his shoulder and turned to his partner.
Taiyang did not take his eyes off Ozpin.
"Don't listen to him, he's more of a snake than Raven is and you know it."
Qrow could see the rage terminating off of him, clearly showing that Yang had taken that from her.
The blonde looked down at Ozpin silently squeezing his fists at the sight.
Ozpin did not respond to that and simply broke free of his restraints using magic and Ki. He wanted to head back to Vale to warn Kron of what he had but he knew these two would never allow him to escape.
Qrow said nothing and only looked down at Ozpin remembering how the Scourge had him by the throat, only to be saved by his Semblance.
He calmed himself, for his niece he'll do what he has to. He must.
But he imagined Summer staring at him, the same way she looked at Raven when she rejoined her tribe.
In disappointment.
It did not matter, if they had a way to seal him away they should take it.
No matter how much he doubted if it was right.
Dead End Arena
"What?" Garnet asked looking stressed. "You mean to tell me the fight has been pushed up to a few hours?!"
Kron and Yang stood in front of the manager of Dead End Arena.
"We got no choice, if we want this fight we will need to push it up to today." He said to her.
"Ugh, I could have made so much money if it stayed on schedule." She moaned and crossed her arms. "I'm sorry this on too short notice, I can't follow your request, also with what you told me this fight is not worth the trouble."
"Come on Garnet," Yang replied. "You've been going on and on about how you wanted this fight, now it's coming sooner and will be even crazier."
"Yes, when I had the time." She sighed while rubbing her temples.
"I gave you a champion." Kron said to her while Yang glared when he said 'gave' her like a baseball card. "Don't you think you owe me."
Garnet groaned but looked at Yang, she had made her business far more successful than Slate ever did.
"Fine, fine, I will make use of these hours and spread the word." She looked over to her right. "But was it necessary to bring them?"
Kron glanced at the rest of Team RWBY that Yang had messaged to meet here.
"That's what I said." He glanced at Yang.
She shrugged and looked at Garnet. "Come on Garnet, if Ozpin knew about this place how bad is it that a few students would come to?"
Garnet rubbed her temples. "Fine, but I'm doubling security, god knows I don't need any more of you to show up." She sighed at the mess this whole ordeal had become.
Kron walked out with Team RWBY behind and out in the hall.
"Kron," Blake said. "What's the plan?"
The Saiyan shrugged his shoulders. "No plan, just wait for Raven beside Yang and deal with her."
The rest of her teammates were surprised to hear that and were against it.
"She has the White Fang with her." Weiss pointed out. "You're going to be outnumbered."
"And our uncle and father." Ruby brought up.
The Saiyan was annoyed with these comments, it felt as though they were doubting his strength.
"Doesn't matter." He said to them. "I'm the strongest, whatever Raven has will not be enough." He said with confidence. "The three of you go back to Beacon, Yang you can go once Raven shows up."He said looking into his mask.
"I'm not running," Yang said which Kron had seen coming. "I'm staying to make sure she doesn't try anything, and to talk some sense into my family." She thought of her uncle and father who she hoped weren't on their side.
"Same here," Ruby yelled determined. "My dad and uncle are being used, I won't let them get hurt because
The Saiyan rolled his eyes.
"They won't listen, they're not in their right minds." He repeated to them. "You should just leave, relax I'll hold back on them."
The sisters didn't doubt him, they knew he would only do what was necessary.
This time Ruby looked at him with pleading eyes. "Please, Kron, we just don't want them getting hurt, let us try."
Kron looked at her and turned to Yang who seemed ready to fight him to make him agree.
"Fine" Not like they'd listen from the last time, though the Saiyan kept that thought to himself. If he were honest he was hoping "But you, you need to leave, Raven would use you as her hostage if she sees you."
The Faunus shook her head.
"It's like you said, Raven has something planned anyway, I want to be there just in case."
Kron scoffed at her and wanted to further demand her to leave.
But the cat continued.
"I told you that I'd have your back, no matter what." Blake said to him and turned to Yang. "Besides she's my partner I'm supposed to have her back to."
Yang nodded with a smile.
Kron felt surprised hearing her be so defiant, it only seemed like yesterday to him when she would cry at every conflict.
"And"
Kron turned to the heiress.
"I'm not exactly fond of you," Weiss admitted. "But I'm going to fight on the side of my teammates, not to mention you saved my life and a Schnee always returns a debt." She said proudly.
"Good to know Discount Winter." Kron couldn't help but poke the bear with her.
Weiss took a breath as she gripped her weapon and let it go.
"Keep saying it, it's going to cost you an eye."
Kron couldn't help but chuckle and looked at Blake.
"Fine, but make sure she doesn't get so close again," Kron instructed remembering Bertilak. "Freeze if you have to, I don't care if she gets frostbite."
Blake was about to protest.
But Weiss smirked and shrugged. "Done"
That seemed to upset the black cat but Kron ignored the scowl she was giving him.
Kron chuckled at her glare and walked away.
"Where are you going?"
"To the training room, I need to prepare for the hag," Kron said to them. "Do what you want, just remember, don't interfere with my fight against the hag."
He walked away leaving the four to their thoughts.
"Guys" Blake began. "I know you haven't known him long, but thank you guys, thank you for trying to help him."
Weiss scoffed and smirked. "Just promise us we'll have a normal school year after this." She groaned wishing they could just do homework and study like she planned.
"Normal?" Yang chuckled as she rose a hand, a golden Ki ball formed in her hand. "Sorry Weiss Cream but looks like normal sailed a long time ago." She showed her energy ball.
Ruby was ogling the orb of light, she always loved seeing it up close.
"Come on Weiss, you have to admit it's been fun since he showed up!" Ruby said enthusiastically while looking at the Ki orb. "I can't imagine Beacon being as exciting as this!" She said gesturing to the Ki ball in Yang's hand.
Yang couldn't help but agree, she had learned a new power that no one else had, gotten to fight powerful opponents. And Kron was fun for her to be around, she frowned thinking of what might happen.
She only hoped that whatever happens they can stay friends.
Far Away
Raven swung her blade horizontal and vertical.
It was almost time, just one more hour before it's time.
After one final slash across from her it sliced rock in half.
She panted as sweat dripped from her face.
"Why bother training, you have the jar."
Raven glance at Cher who was sitting on a boulder.
"It's in case anything goes wrong." She said to her thinking back to her first meeting with Yang. "If the jar doesn't work, I- no, we need to be ready." She said to her. "You'll help me won't you?"
Cher thought back to that moment she merged with her against that monster. And the memories she saw of Kron in her head.
The child that smiled as he murdered huntsman. He didn't seem at all like a child, but a Grimm that shows it's enjoyment when it takes a life. The blood coated smile it had.
But then she was there for her encounter with her daughter, she seemed so much on her side. Not to mention the conversation she heard from her.
"Who's Kali?"
Raven looked away for a few seconds. "Someone that Kron got close to."
Cher looked at her weirdly. "And you threaten her?"
"I did." She replied honestly. "I needed time to prepare for him, I want my daughter safe so I used the only leverage I had."
Cher can sense no lies from that, she meant it.
"Why does she trust him more than you?" She asked. "And you kept lying to her."
Raven cursed under her breath, she can tell when she's lying.
"I knew she wouldn't come if I told her the truth." She said to her. "I wanted to get her to safety."
That was the truth, she wanted her to be safe not to be harmed.
"And to do that, you hid details of this Kali woman from her." She said to her. "Who is she?"
Raven looked at her sadly. "I thought you learned everything about Kron when I let you see my memories."
Cher looked away hearing that.
"To be honest, I was too scared looking through those memories, maybe I didn't see enough."
Raven clenched her fists.
"Cher remember, even monsters gain attachments." She said to her. "Look in my mind if you must, but no matter what you see, remember what he was."
Cher did as she was told and once again faded into her memories, she can see a boy fighting three opponents at once.
The bloodlust he had for them, even for the man who was Kali's beloved.
And Raven's disgusting plan against Kron.
Cher pulled back looking at her.
"So I was right you didn't look far enough." Raven said to her. "I was wondering why you were so willing even after punishing the tribe."
The pink haired girl looked at her and glared. "You, you made him turn on those he cared for, and that woman, you threaten her?"
"It's a bluff." Raven admitted. "I'm not my father, but I will do what I must to protect my daughter even if she hates me. It's my only deter in case he attacks her, I needed to get the Jar ready and make preparations, I'm not going to attack Kali, I just want my daughter safe."
Cher can feel that what she's saying is true but still she felt conflicted, on the one hand she was doing whatever she can to protect her daughter.
"You may not be Corvus, but that's a really low bar." Cher pointed out. "You want to change Raven, I even think you have, why can't he?" She pointed out when she refused to run from that Grimm monster.
Raven clenched her teeth as she remembered Kron's upbringing.
"Remember when I told you that he was plotting to kill me?" She asked. "That was when I raised him, trained him, all that and he still wanted to end me." During his training Raven saw the fury in his eyes.
It wasn't normal, it was so primal, he wanted to kill not only her tribe but every human he came across. She can see those calculating eyes looking for weakpoints during their spars, and every strike he through was meant to be fatal.
That and his accelerated growth in power lead her to limit his training to ensure he could never surpass her.
It was only when she was in a coma that he had the time to train and now surpass her.
"Cher, I don't want to kill Kron, I don't even want to seal him away." Raven said to her. "I just don't see an alternative to any of this, he wants to kill me, he's always wanted to even before what I did to him. And he likely turned my daughter against me to torture me, do you really want someone as hateful as him to roam free?"
The pink haired woman wanted to call her out on lies but the trick is, she wasn't lying.
"I'll have to think about this." Cher said to her.
Raven was disappointed but accepted it, this partnership was fragile to begin with.
Hopefully she won't need to resort to Inheritance.
And she hoped that Kron would want to ask for peace, maybe as influence from her daughter.
But she knows he won't.
Just one more hour, before the end.
Far Away
In the forest far away where Raven had fought the hardest fight she's had in a long time.
The green crystal that survived her onslaught had grown over the weeks it was recovering.
Inside the crystal a figure could be seen, a humanoid-shaped black mass with the crown-shaped skull he once had.
There were black tendrils that had been taking and absorbing Grimm that were attracted by a humming noise the crystal made.
Inside the crown skull began to change shape, resembling more of a trident than a crown.
The body strangely got smaller, not becoming weaker but more compact. He was now becoming stronger and faster through his evolution.
After a long rest, his eyes opened showing green.
The crystal started to crack, slowly.
With a roar the crystal shattered.
Eclipse was finally ready.
The mutant looked at his hand thinking of the voice he constantly heard in his voice.
'Be strong Eclipse, for your father, he's going to need you.'
Be strong, he was strong, but that wasn't enough.
To make his father's goal come true, to evolve mankind into undying he must be the strongest, he must take his place as the Grimm King.
For that he must prove that he is superior to any life in the world.
The mean lady, the one with magic came to his mind.
He must redeem himself against her.
The creature looked down to see blood on the ground.
Eclipse smelled it and smiled.
Now with her scent Eclipse's wings sprouted and he flew towards where he detected the scent, he let out a squeal happy he was able to play again!
Dead End Arena
Kron had finished his warm up before the end, he put on his black tight suit and his black cape and hood.
Just a few minutes and it will start.
Everything he trained for the past eight years will come.
"Kron?"
The Saiyan turned to Blake and Yang standing next to each other.
"It's time." Blake said to him.
Kron looked at the duo for a few seconds thinking of everything that happened up to this point. He looked at Blake, he never thought he'd see her again. He didn't want to see her again. Who would've thought his search for the hag would lead him back to her. And it was good that he did, hearing her acceptance of his past made him less angry.
He looked at Yang and thought back to when he imagined her to be nothing but a cowardly weakling who lies and runs from challenges like her mother before only for her to prove she was the opposite in their first encounter. Even when she was out of Aura she still stood defiantly, intending to fight for information on Raven. Not to mention she would be exactly what he was looking for to teach Ki.
The Saiyan walked with them not far behind him, while they did the he remembered something when this whole thing started.
"What was Ozpin's plan?"
The duo were confused.
"What do you mean?" Blake asked.
"When we made the deal, Ozpin whispered something to you, what was it?" He remembered him talking to them after he made the deal and made sure he was unaware of whatever he said. "I wondered for the longest time, I thought of asking him but figured he'd lie, so what was it?"
Blake heard that and smiled. "To see if I can find the good in you."
"What?"
"He thought there was more to you then just being the Scourge of Anima, he wanted to me to help guide you to doing better." She said to him. "And just like my mom he was right."
That again, 'good' in him.
"Please" Kron rolled his eyes. "Everything I did, good or not was for my own sake, I haven't changed."
Thats what he believed anyway.
Blake would have brought up saving her but she thought of something better. "Like that village you saved."
Kron stopped when she said that and turned to her. "What? How did you know?"
Blake simply shrugged as she smirked and walked along side him.
"Wipe that smile off your face." Kron said turning away.
"Man, you get flustered kinda easy these days dontcha" Yang commented.
"Shove it." He really didn't want anyone finding out about protecting that Leopard village. He didn't know why he protected it, it wasn't a part of Vale nor did it really benefit him in anyway. He only remembered that little girl and mother reminding him of Blake and her mother. They weren't them, and yet he felt the urge to keep them safe. That little
How the 'Saiyan Warrior' has fallen. Refusing to purge a planet was one thing, but going out of his way to protect weaklings on a whim? Ludicrous.
But what did it matter? He already fallen when he got attached to the Belladonnas. What use was it to be so ashamed?
"Mom would be proud of you." Blake said to him.
Kron didn't say anything for a few seconds, he only looked ahead.
To see the entrance to the Arena.
Both Yang and Kron stopped.
The Saiyan turned to Blake. "Go wait with the other two, do not show your face, got it?"
Blake didn't like this arrangement but she reluctantly agreed, she remembered the last time she tried to 'help' and didn't want to put Kron in that situation again. She won't be a burden this time and only act to fight any White Fang soldiers she thinks will enter the arena.
Once she was out of sight Kron turned to Yang.
"Ready?"
Yang thought of everything, this might be it, her mother might die. But she knew that this was it. Whatever was going to happen, Raven would have it coming even if she did care for her.
She squeezed her fists thinking of the lies she told and how she desperately wanted to save her from him. Even if she didn't need it.
"Yeah." Yang nodded her head.
Kron nodded and placed the Berringer Mask on his face completing his Scourge of Anima outfit.
Yang put on her Zhu Long mask hiding her face and preparing for what was ahead.
The two walked into the arena.
To their surprise the arena seats were all filled and all cheered at their appearance.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Ready for the fight of the century?!" The speaker yelled. "Today the Golden Zhu Long will take an observing role, while our guest, the Silver Knives Arena's Former Champion Scourge of Anima waits for the opponent we promised you!" The speaker yelled getting the crowd exciting. "Wait in anticipation, just three minutes for the bandit Chief Raven Branwen!"
Yang kept her cool, she hoped her father and uncle will listen.
Kron waited for what what felt like an eternity, every second felt so long.
Ruby, Weiss, and Blake were watching from a window that can only be seen one way.
The black cat was nervous watching, what will Raven do? What if it's something Kron can't fight back againts.
Ruby put a hand on her shoulder which made her turn.
"Everything's alright, we're to help ok?" The team Leader said to her.
Blake was happy to see that she was receiving help from her and looked at Weiss.
The heiress merely nodded, her way of saying that she will help in anyway she can.
Blake could never be happy to have teammates like these, ones that will help her protect her family.
She watched the screen waiting for anything.
Little did anyone know, the Arena had two uninvited guests.
From the seats up in the arena a white light showed revealing two familiar people.
Sepia stood tall, she had used her Light Guidance to bend light to make her and her partner invisible.
Penny looked down and can see a young woman with a mask and long pony tail standing next to the one she had been searching for.
"There he is."
Sepia glared down at the masked individual and grit her teeth. She fought the urge to attack, it wasn't the time. She had to wait, for her.
"Sepia, I can't contact General Ironwood." She said to her.
"We're either too far away or this place is jamming our signal." Sepia said as she focused on her prey. The one who took her husband from her. "Just be ready, we will wait until after the fight, whoever wins will be exhausted."
Penny nodded looking at the combatants, she was ready just like the general had said.
The Floating Ring
Standing at the center of the metal ring, both Kron and Yang stood waiting for the inevatable.
He looked at the clock to see it read 11:59, it felt like the longest minute of his life.
12:00.
Just as it read that a red portal opened in front of Kron and Yang.
To Yang this portal was new, she didn't see it when Raven used it to get to her.
For Kron the blood colored portal was nothing new, he'd seen it so often in his youth.
And this will be the last time he'd seen it.
A black boot stepped out, then familiar red gauntlets, and a black and red outfit.
Kron's eyes glared even harder at the sight.
Long black hair and blood red eyes.
Raven Branwen now stood before Kron, glaring at him as though Yang was not here.
The portal did not shut behind her.
Raven glared into Kron's mask showing no fear, she looked at him up and down.
Kron said nothing and glared at her while squeezing his fists. Resisting his need to unleash an attack on her. He knows it wouldn't be smart, he needed to see what she was up to first.
Raven was the one who broke the silence. "I see you gave up the armor." She stated at the mask. "Take off the mask, I want to see how much you've grown."
She said it like a mother wanting to see her son's face.
The Saiyan's tail lashed out as if hearing her voice made him agitated, even more so hearing her make a demand.
"After we're done." He said to her with animosity.
Raven was startled by the voice, the last time she heard it it was a child to hear it from him now made her freeze a bit.
Yang could see that Raven was more focused on him than her, and Kron was starting to lose his concentration.
"Raven" She began.
The lady turned to Yang with saddened eyes.
"My dad and uncle, where are they?" She demanded.
Raven stared at her with a sense of melancholy. "They're safe Yang." She assured and stared at Kron. "And are going to protect you from him."
Yang was about to speak but she got interrupted.
"Kali" Kron stated. "Did you go near her?"
Raven looked at the masked warrior, she can tell from that tone he was protective. "She's safe, I haven't seen her"
Kron squeezed his fists fighting the urge to attack again.
"That a lie? Because if it is, I will rip you apart." He meant it to even with Yang there.
"She was never in danger." Raven replied and glanced at Yang. "I only wanted to keep her safe."
Yang didn't respond and truth be told she didn't know how to feel about that.
"Even so you will pay for even threatening her." He said enraged that she would even entertain the idea of putting a target on her back.
"You have no right to be upset at me for that." Raven said matter of factly. "Not when you involved my daughter."
Kron squeezed his fists fighting the urge to attack.
"All I did was make her stronger, and gave her a chance to save you from me." Kron pointed out. "You should be thanking me."
The woman glared at the masked boy, she never thought he would meet her, she had one nightmare of it, but never thought it would be like this. Her standing by his side.
"Your up to something, you wouldn't be here without some plan." He pointed out. "A hostage fits your reputation."
Raven nodded, years ago she would have done that, she wanted to do it, it would be effective. But she couldn't.
"Kron, I'm sorry it's come to this."
The Saiyan didn't respond showing no signs that he was effected.
Yang didn't respond but she didn't really believe it, not after all the lies she told her.
Raven glanced at her side to see Cher floating by her side who was simply observing and looking at the infamous Scourge of Anima.
After a few seconds the former bandit began to speak.
"What I did, I did it, because I knew that the moment you'd be more powerful than me you'd kill me." Raven stated honestly. "As for Kali, she never knew you Kron." She said honestly. "She never saw your smile covered in someone else's blood, if she had she would never have wanted anything to do with you no matter how attached you were, all I did was show her a glimpse of the real you."
She didn't even mean for Kali to have such a meaningful place in his life. If only he had stayed at the hospital like she planned. Actually if only she took him to Dr. Turquoise instead of Menagarie, had she done that he wouldn't have been so effected by what happened.
Kron was trying harder and harder not to attack, she wanted it, he can tell. There's some sort of plan going on and he wasn't going to give her what she wanted.
Raven focused on Kron's body trying to find any tells to see if he was at all effected by her speech, except for a tighten frame
She was affecting his mind, good.
"Your a monster Kron, worse than I ever was. " She looked at Yang with a meaningful look. "I took nothing from you, and you know it."
Cher watches her speech, as a spirit connected to her she can tell that she meant it.
"Do you really think Kali would have accepted you without me intervening?"
Kron was silent for a moment.
Yang glared at her and spoke.
"That's who he was." Yang said glaring at Raven. "Not who he is, you don't know what would have happened stop talking like you do!"
The Saiyan glanced at the blonde never expecting her to counter that argument
Raven was shocked at how much she trusted him and squeezed her fists and glared at Kron.
"Kron, I'll make one last offer, surrender, leave me be." She said to him with her arms crossed. "Do so, and I'll forget you turned my daughter against me."
Yang was surprised by that, she didn't think she'd say that after all she's heard of her cowardice.
But not more so than Kron, he chuckled lightly hearing that.
"This coming from the cowardly hag?" He chuckled and sighed. "No, this ends tonight like you said."
But now it was time, no more delays.
She thought as much, she wished things had been different, if only she had kept Kron at her side, she shouldn't have defended her people so readily.
"So be it." Raven said sadly. "We end this tonight." She pulled out a jar from behind her back, it was silver with jade colored gems all over.
Behind his mask Kron rose an eyebrow wondering what she was doing with that.
Just then from the portal behind her a black blue ran past Raven.
Yang looked at it expecting it to be either her father or Qrow.
But instead it was a tan woman with black stripes on her face as well as tiger ears on her head.
She threw a clawed hand for Kron's masked face.
The Saiyan simply grabbed her wrist and stared at her for a few seconds.
He recognized her instantly and had bad memories surfaced looking at her robotic leg.
"Sienna"
The Tigress yelled as she tried to swipe with her other hand.
He caught that one as well.
"I'm aware you have a score to settle with me." He said to her. "But I waited too long for this." He tossed Sienna behind her like she was a rag doll. "Wait your turn."
Kron turned to Raven as though the tigress was of no consequence.
Raven glared at Kron and put a hand on the jar.
"She's not your only back up, where are they?"
"Kron, I've taught you to watch your surroundings." She pointed out.
Kron glanced behind her to see Sienna charging at him again.
This time she was faster.
The Tigress swung her bladed chain whip at Kron.
The Saiyan grabbed the chain undeterred by her increase in power. He looked at the Faunus and can see that her eyes were different, her hands had white claws, almost like a Grimm.
Raven sighed, time for the moment of truth.
She opened the Jar and aimed it at Kron.
Just as Jade's Jar opened a green light shot out of it and went towards Kron.
"Kron!" Yang yelled as the light neared him.
Kron kicked Sienna in the stomach rocketing her back, just then the light shot him in the back.
The Saiyan felt a strange sensation all over him, his entire body glowed green.
He started to slide across the metal ring towards Raven.
Just as he was half way towards he Kron stomped the ground shaking the ring forcing Sienna and Yang to stumble.
"Tch" Raven watched as he somewhat easily stopped the pull. Just as she thought, they didn't nearly have enough fear to force him in the jar.
Kron turned around behind his mask he was confused, what was pulling him in? He glanced at what Raven was holding, it was the jar, it seemed to be trying to pull him.
What is that? Is this some kind of technology he never knew this planet had?
Whatever the case, he needed to destroy it, that was likely a part of her plan.
Yang tried to intervene, but the tigress stepped in and clawed across her face forcing her to stumble back.
Raven immediately lifted her blade and sliced the air.
"Do it now!" She yelled.
One figure jumped out in front of Raven and ran towards him.
Kron recognized him and rose an arm.
Taiyang slammed a fist into his guard.
"Dad!" She yelled as she rose her arms before a tigress.
The huntsman turned to his daughter for a few seconds but he regained focused and glared at Kron.
"What your doing, ends tonight!" He yelled.
Kron found that this man's power felt stronger then before somehow.
No, he wasn't stronger, his body, it felt like the gravity increased.
That jar, it made him feel weaker.
"Out of my way!" He yelled as he grabbed Taiyang's arm and threw him across from the arena.
Just then a bird flew from the portal next to Kron.
Without him seeing the bird shifted into Qrow as he swung his scythe at the back of his knees.
The swipe connected forcing Kron to fall on his backside. He felt his body being pulled towards the jar.
"Stop it!" Yang yelled as she used her Ki to fly over the three who were fighting Kron and above Raven with her fist cocked back. She trusted her fist releasing shotgun shots not wanting to waste her Ki.
Raven saw it coming and used her sword to deflect the gun shots.
Just then Kron managed to stop himself from heading towards the jar by punching the metal ground. He turned and fired a Ki blast towards it.
But the Maiden was quick as she fired a lightning bolt towards it the two collided and created a blinding display for the audience.
Kron immediately stood up and tried to fire another blast only for Qrow to appear and swipe his scythe towards his face.
The Saiyan growled as he ducked underneath and uppercutted the huntsman.
Just then Sienna clawed for his face again with her Abyss Hide enhanced strength.
But Kron tilted his head back and headbutted the Highleader.
Taiyang threw a fist in the ground.
It created an explosion beneath Kron's feet forcing him to stumble back and of course get close to Raven and the jar.
But again Kron stopped himself before he could get any closer to the jar.
Taiyang threw a fist straight into his face making his head turn.
Sienna kneed his stomach.
And Qrow slammed a kick into his stomach.
All blunt attacks to force him back.
His feet skidded behind him getting him closer and closer to Raven, he was centimeters from the jar.
But knowing not to trust whatever that jar is, Kron immediately spun kick.
This forced Raven to jump back and land to the edge of the ring.
"Damn it!" Now he was further away from it. She wanted to go and help while bringing the jar closer, but for the artifact to work it must have someone with magic hold it while opened. If she drops it she'll have to do the ritual all over again, find new sacrifices, and she couldn't afford to do that not after coming this far.
Kron growled as he turned to the three trying to get him close to the jar, this was why he wanted to lure Raven by suprise.
The Saiyan traded blows with all three powerful warriors all while feeling the pull of Jade's Jar.
Raven gritted her teeth, this was ridiculous, he should feel an intense pressure while being drawn in the jar and he's still capable of fighting three Maiden level opponents at once! He really is a freak of nature.
She aimed her hand towards Kron attempting to throw ice magic. But she saw something in the corner of her eye. She grabbed the blade and swung.
She sliced three bullets in half, she stared up above.
Three Beacon student-aged children were there, each pointing a weapon at her.
A Schnee, Summer's daughter, and Kali's daughter standing from the top of the ceiling.
So he roped them into this to.
Blake glared at Raven remembering what she'd done to her family, to Kron who would have been her brother.
Weiss wasn't so sure if this was right but she remembered how he saved her and Blake's lives, not to mention all that this woman had done to her teammates.
Ruby didn't like doing this, she used to be with dad, fought at her mother's side but she didn't want the person who protected her team to be down.
She glanced down at Kron who was fighting her father, uncle and that tiger lady Blake told them about.
Ruby dashed down with her Semblance.
Yang dashed towards her father while Ruby dashed towards her uncle, both wanting to talk sense into the duo.
But before the sisters could reach them, Qrow's Semblance kicked in as he tried to force Kron towards the jar.
Two bits of concrete landed in front of the sisters surprising them and covering them in smoke.
Kron meanwhile was doing his best to hold back, he wanted to unleash all his might against Raven and Raven only, he did not want to harm Yang's family anymore then he did.
But thinking about all this, what Raven had done to him, how she is using trickery to win this fight started to make him lose his cool.
"Enough!" He yelled as he threw a fist towards Taiyang's temple.
The force was actually strong enough to knock him on the ground while shattering his Aura.
Then he kicked Qrow in the stomach causing him to release some spittle.
He was sent far back and fell off the floating metal ring.
And finally he grabbed Sienna's chain. He was about to swing her into Raven hopefully interrupting whatever that Jar was doing.
Raven panicked, this was it, her back up, she was going to lose the power of the Jade Jar. She turned and deflected ice and bullets from the Schnee and Belladonna.
Damn it! She should have tried asking Sienna for any prisoners, she was stupid to rely on her tribe alone!
Up in the stands Sepia was watching and hearing everything. From what she gathered Raven's goal is to keep the jar opened and the Scourge seems to be avoiding it.
She wanted to wait until both exhausted each other.
But if Raven is terrified of the Scourge, then there's really only one choice.
"Stay here Penny." She said to her. "Be ready on my mark."
Penny was surprised and turned to her partner. "What wait, Sepia!" She yelled after her friend.
Just as Kron began to pull Sienna's chain.
A familiar woman with brown hair and tuffs showed in front of him.
The Saiyan's eyes widened recognizing her.
"Sepi-"
Before he could finish Sepia used Light Guidance to unleash a powerful light right in front of Kron.
And that light was too much for anyone to look directly at, even the mighty Saiyan's eyes were vulnerable.
Kron screamed as he let go of Sienna's chain and grabbed his eyes. "Ahhh!" He instinctively put his hands into his burning eyes.
Sienna didn't know who this woman was, perhaps another enemy of Kron's?
Whatever the case she wasn't going to miss this chance.
She swung her chain and wrapped it around Kron's leg, she then pulled and ran forward pulling the young man closer to the jar.
Kron was still recovering from his temporary blindness fell as his leg was literally pulled and was getting pulled easier.
"Grr" He resisted fighting the pull even though he was blinded.
Sepia aimed her sword towards Kron and pulled the trigger, releasing an ice arrow.
The arrow connected to Kron's back entrapping him in a block of ice.
Now blind and frozen Kron roared in defiance as he was pulled closer.
Yang and Ruby kneeled before their father and uncle trying to make sure their ok before trying to decide if they should wake them up.
The blonde can see Kron getting pulled further. "Kron!" She yelled dashing towards him to try to save him.
Just then Sepia appeared before her and rose her sword to block a punch from the blonde.
She growled looking to see Kron being pulled. "Out of my way!" She yelled.
Sepia glared at her, this child clearly doesn't know who he is. She glanced back hoping the world's most dangerous criminal was being trapped by whatever that weapon was.
To her horror, even while frozen and blinded, the Scourge was getting up, and turning around when he was a just a foot away from Raven.
"Penny! Shoot!"
Ruby was shocked to hear that name.
Kron was about to reach for Raven's neck to stop whatever this thing was.
But just then a green laser shot him from the back.
It wasn't strong enough to hurt him, but it was strong enough to make him stumble.
And his arm made contact with the jar's opening.
That was all that it needed.
Kron's entire body was being sucked in faster than he could move his body.
Blake's eyes widened watching helplessly at what was unfolding.
"Raaaaaveeeen!" He shouted that name with intense hatred as his entire body seemed to shrink until it went straight through the jar's opening. Until his whole body seemed to disappear into it.
Raven was stunned, but she shook it off as she placed Jade's Jar lid on, A puff of smoke released from the lid.
The crowd that were enjoying the chaos of the show went silent.
Sienna looked at Raven and at the jar she was holding.
Yang had widened eyes unsure of how to react to what just happened.
Blake looked horrified, she just watched someone she cared about vanish into that small jar.
But none were as shocked as Raven.
She lifted the jar up to her face, she expected to feel it shake. But it didn't, not even a small one.
All the power in the world, and he was rendered helpless to this little jar.
Raven chuckled lightly for a few seconds thinking of all the nightmares she had of ever seeing Kron again. But then she stopped knowing what this meant to him, she actually looked sad thinking of the fate that awaited him.
But it had to be done, he was never going to stop.
It was over, he was gone. He will never be able to come for her.
As she held the jar to her face she can see the look of someone terrified behind it. She descended her hand showing Yang, she looked as though she lost a friend.
Raven smiled at her. "Yang, it's over, no more." She said to her. "He can't hurt anyone, anymore."
She said as though she believed that was what this meant.
Kron, the Scourge of Anima, the strongest on Remnant was now trapped.
After eight years apart is this how it ends?
Will Kron spend his days trapped inside Jade's Jar?
Or will Team RWBY be able to free him?
Find out next time in One's Own Path!
Ah, were getting closer to the end.
Also I'm so happy to see everyone is enjoying the final chapters so far, I will continue to do what I can to make the story entertaining for all of you.
Of the arc anyway, feels weird after it's been dragged on for so long. I hope i can make it worth it.
Kron was sealed away but at least took more than the Jar to do it, he had to be blinded, frozen, and lasered in the back.
What I really liked about writing this chapter was how many people dog piled him lol. I mean five people had to push him into the jar, four of them fought him before, one of them was sent after him.
Jesus Kron sure has made a lot of enemies, and knowing how he is he'll make more, which is pretty normal for a Saiyan.
And don't worry, we're getting Kron vs Raven, real soon. So just relax and enjoy the ride.
And also how can we forget about Eclipse who's on his way and btw even stronger from all the Grimm he ate.
Ah man, as sad as I am with going through another hiatus, I am looking forward to writing the end, it's gonna be crazy. All I'm going to say.
Review Responces
Guest: Lol It is funny how despite Kron's current win streak he is still weak by Saiyan standards, hopefully he can change that at some point.
ThatSaiyaguy: Thank you, hopefully they amped up even more. Raven didn't see the point in hiding the fact she was on to him since Yang trusted him so much. Yeah I made that too obvious, so the jar didn't have anything, before Kron was sealed within. It was used to seal away Salem for centuries allowing for the four kingdoms to form in this story, until somehow she managed to break free.
Well the Jar wasn't strong enough to capture Kron on it's own but now he is indeed trapped within because he got dog piled.
Eclipse is on his way, who knows maybe he'll force Raven to open the jar or he'll break the jar. Who knows it depends on when he comes back. Thank u for letting me know that screw up lol it's weird how no one else pointed that out after three days. Thx again!
Well little did they know Sepia and Penny were on the hunt for Kron. Sad for Penny she acted thinking of the mission and helping Sepia. Now the question is what will she do now that Kron her primary target is sealed away.
Guess that's something you'll see in the next chapter. Thank u hope u liked this one to.
Kamencolin: I see it now, though here Kron did not use his stinger on Kali thankfully.
Guest: Thank u for letting me know all these conditions, though Jade's Jar doesn't work that way, it takes your fear and turns it into energy it doesn't rely on the sacrifices power levels but how much fear they have for their target. Still thank u it was nice of you to give me a reminder and I hope u liked the chapter.
To your question: Raven forced the Branwen's hand on the Jar's button, you can force sacrifices.
Cher questioned Raven and now seems unsure if she should help her. Kron was worse than Raven in his early years, but also she has proven that she has changed, a bit, why can't Kron? So we'll see if she'll change her mind on helping.
WingNUT48: I am deeply flattered hearing that. I post on Saturday for that purpose I hoped that I could recreate that feeling of being a kid tuning in Saturday morning to see their show. I hope you keep feeling it as the story continues. And thank you for giving my story a try.
AlejandroDiaz: It'll take some time, you'll see, let's just say humans will have an easier time to keep up with Saiyans than they did in dbz. Kron does still bleed a bit so it's possible Salem or someone else getting his DNA. All I will say is that we will see the great ape at some point.
KenSanders: We're reaching the end.
All because Ozpin couldn't bring himself to tell the truth.
Poor bastards can't even think clearly because of the Void Vault, hopefully they either come to their senses or they can earn the girls forgivness.
Yep, tbf Qrow and Tai aren't themselves, let's hope they snap out of it, Sienna, Raven have no excuse really.
Sepia and Penny became part of the fire.
Yep, on the Brightside it being a mess right now means he can learn the cost of lying so it doesn't become a problem later. Hopefully.
Yeah it was one of Ozpin's old habits he had for multiple lifetimes, I imagine it comes back every now and then thinking of what he's done or what he's doing.
Yep Eclipse is on his way right now! Lol
Thank you, hope u had a Merry Christmas as well.
Guest: Hope your enjoying it so far!
Shadow-Proclamation: That's possible it wouldn't be the first time Kron created a technique based on a power he's seen. So this story isn't ending it's just the arc so this story will continue to get updated.
Everything has kead up to this, most of Kron's enemies have joined forces and seem to have succeeded in sealing him away. All I'm going to say is the ending will be crazy and I planned it ahead of time, hope I do it well.
Stormzy: Thank u for for giving my story a try and being honest in how u feel. If I find a story that seems to be more what you're looking for I'll let u know.
ZamasuAutonomous22: Thank you!
Well the arc is ending. The untied ends are for the next arc. You'll see we got at least four chapters left before the end of the current arc.
The actual story has a longer way to go though.
I PM'd you but those temples Kron visited had martial artists like Lie Ren not Ki. Yang was the first person on Remnant to have wielded Ki, second beign Ozpin and third being Pyrrha. For my story Ozpin and Salem simply did not consider a new energy source to rely on. Ozpin was depressed for a few life times and focused on Aura and gaining support againts Salem.
Salem was immortal and taking her time getting the relics thinking that she was unstoppable, which she basically is on top of being the most powerful on Remnant at least before Kron's time skip.
Raven may not live past the finale but at least she managed to seal him thanks to both the support and unexpected help from Kron's other enemies. Who knows how long it will last though.
BunkerfreakHD: I did promise the great ape at some point, who knows, I alo promised a great finale.
Eddyg125: It was gonna happen sooner or later.
Silverhawk88:How'd you know? Lol! Hope you enjoyed this chapter to.
James is bored: We're getting there man lol
Lelouch od Zero: Yang and Raven had problems before, Kron simply magnified them by being another victim of Raven and being friends with Yang. Hope you enjoyed all of them appearing to Kron. Yep Raven wil use almost any means to win, thankfully she never paid her a visit.
On it's own it wasn't but with help the Jade's Jar did work, though who can say for how long.
Thank u for reading hope you enjoyed this chapter as well.
Runeion: Thank you, hope u had a Merry Christmas to and wish you a happy new year! Sad to say sometimes I like to break traditions, but hey, they see the jar so who knows maybe they can free him, we'll see.
Keybladelight: Glad you liked it. Cher has a reason not to help, and Kron is basically headed to be good he did help a village without anyone asking him to so he's already turning out for the better.
It is Raven all that matters is living to her at all costs, to her credit though she does want to protect Yang even if she doesn't need it.
Kron is kinda fighting for both, revenge and protecting Kali hope that's good with you.
ForeverTruthful95: Thank you. Well Raven was the last to see Summer so at the very least she knows something that she kept hidden from the family.
Fair's fair, we'll see, for now Kron's gotta find a way out of that jar.
Demon lord Beezlebub: Thank you. I am sorry u feel that way I hope this chapter feels less crushed to you. And I am enjoying writing thank u. The hiatus will be for a few months, it depends how long my other story DBOT will be for it's final arc. Also I need time to plan my next arc and want it better planned then this.
halo 69: Yep, we went full circle. Only difference is Kron had suspicions while Yang had sources. She wanted to know the kind of person Ravenw as for herself before deciding everything. Unfortunatley for her, while Raven had changed she is still a liar. Aura restraints work on Aura only it wouldn't work on magic which is why Raven had Qrow and Taiyang watch him.
Diablos Aides: Thank you.
Triscythe59: Thank you! Unfrotunately for Kron his enemies ganged up on him. Hope you enjoyed this chapter as well.
Guess that's it for today.
I'm happy to see that all of you are enjoying the finale of the arc as I enjoy writing it.
Hope you guys are looking forward to the next chapter and am looking forward to your reviews to this one.
I wish everyone a happy new year and look forward to next week.
Have an awesome day! :)
