Chapter Summary: When Xion goes missing, Roxas attempts to look for her. Destiny Islands is one of the places he searches, and he ends up bringing a certain errant Heartless along.

A/N: I originally meant for this be longer but I thought it would be better if I cut the chapter down and end it as it is. I may post more of this as either a separate chapter or an addendum in the future.

The world was beautiful that day. Clear blue skies, warm tropical winds, and a sandy beach full of pretty seashells. It was nearly picture-perfect. But that picture was missing something.

"No sign of Xion here either."

Then again, what made Roxas think Xion would go to this world? Sure, it was really nice; pleasantly warm in a way that wasn't overwhelming, with bright sunshine lighting the sky. Not to mention the weird trees that were heavy with star-shaped fruit. And it was right next to the ocean…

"On our next day off, let's all go to the beach!"

Roxas shook his head to clear the memory and sighed. "Guess I should regroup with Axel. C'mon, Sora."

Silence.

"Sora?" Roxas turned around hoping to see a certain little errant Heartless behind him.

Unfortunately for Roxas, Sora was nowhere in sight.

"Sora? Sora, where are you?!"

Sora, of course, had wandered off. He couldn't help it. He wanted to help Roxas find Xion but he got bored waiting around.

The island looked too interesting to ignore anyway! With all those big stars on the trees, the pretty pink shells that sounded like the ocean, and the big wooden plank with the flag on top! (It kind of reminded him of a raft.)

He was having too much fun exploring the big island. (Big? Wasn't it supposed to be tiny ?)

It felt kind of familiar too, like he had been there before in a dream. ( Memory ?)

Before long, Sora stumbled across a big hollowed out place with a big opening.

A cave?

For some reason, something told Sora to go inside.

Sora sank into the shadows and popped out into the entrance of the cave. It was bigger on the inside. And there were so many drawings!

But there was one that Sora was really drawn to most.

Two heads with two stars?

Sora put a claw over the drawing and—

"Look, K_ _ri! I drew you!"

"I drew you too, Sora!"

Sora shook his head. What was that?

He felt a pull in his chest. Roxas . He was calling Sora. They were going back.

Sora didn't want to leave; he wanted to stay!

He wanted to stay and see—

"...Sora?"

A voice that most definitely was not Roxas. Curious, Sora turned around to see…

Kairi knew she was missing something. No, someone. Someone important. Someone so dear to her that she made a promise to meet them again.

But for some reason she couldn't remember who it was she made the promise with.

She gave him her lucky charm, didn't she?

And he promised to come back with Riku…

Kairi got off the boat and tied it to the dock so it would float away. After she was done, she turned around to gaze at Play Island.

She hadn't been back to Play Island for a while, not since she realized that she had lost something important to her that she couldn't remember. She had vowed to never return until she remembered what it was she had forgotten. That was months ago and she hadn't been able to remember a single thing.

Until now.

Until something was pulling her back to the island.

Was it Riku? She knew he had come here once but he left before she had a chance to talk to him. It was hard swallowing the bitter disappointment that day.

Before she knew it, Kairi found herself before their Secret Place. The last time she had been here, Destiny Islands had just been restored and she felt nostalgic, wandering around their childhood haunts. Admiring their old drawings. Laughing silly scribbles. Crying over—

Crying over what? Kairi gasped as she realized she couldn't remember what it was she had spilled tears over. What if that was the key to that missing boy that she had forgotten? Armed with this revelation, Kairi ran inside the cave and found herself stopping over a drawing that she nearly forgot about.

A poorly drawn girl exchanging a big paopu fruit with a slightly better drawn boy.

A memory came to her mind, unbidden.

"Look, Kairi! I drew you!"

"I drew you too, S_ _ _!"

That's right, his name…it started with an "S"! His name is…!

Kairi blinked back tears as she watched a blurry shadow pop into existence and place a claw over the drawing. Her mouth opened as one word fell out:

"...Sora?"
