Show me…

"I bet she won't fall in love with you." She was looking at the object of their game, a boring girl indeed, she thought, but she had fine eyes though Fitzwilliam didn't agree with her. "Her eyes are like stars in the sky at night", he said to her. Then looked at her intensely and continued, "but all my life, I want to look at a burning star at the day. I want to be blinded by it. Get burned by it."

He looked at her from the corner of his eye. How he wanted to devour those lips. Those beautiful pouty lips she had. "You said the same the last time."

She smirked. "But this time, I'm sure. Look. She's too proud of herself and arrogant to fall in love with a man who insulted her and is not looking in her direction. Are you sure you know what you're doing?"

"It's a long game Caro. I know what I'm doing. She's a vain girl that shall fall so hard for me that she never knows how she's fallen."

"You better know dear, because I would think you've lost your touch and I hate to see you so… so undesirable and I'm getting bored."

"Never. Naver Caro. Doubt me," he whispered threateningly.

"Then show me," she said playfully, almost cruelly and left him.

And showing he did. He liked this show.

"I'm feeling dull with this girl. She thinks she's so humorous and lively but–"

"Well, I said go with her sister. Never underestimate the one who looks sweet. I'm sure Charles should try so hard to keep up with the girl." She threw a look at him, but continued to undress herself before the mirror.

"Now that I'm hearing from Charles, I agree with you, but back then I thought she was the dull one. It seemed being the favourite of her mother had done wonders to her. Charles was so surprised the other day and said to me, she explained that she learnt everything from her mama. You're right, she's not that dull."

"I'm always right."

He knew she was deliberately slow. Driving him crazy with her seductive ways. With showing little by little her gorgeous body. He missed this. Missed her. Being away from her was torturous to him, especially spending time acting as a love sick puppy for a girl who never could hold a candle to his fiery Caroline.

He broke the silence at long last and strode towards her, "the girl was thinking I'm going to propose to her. Stupid as she is all the time we were walking expecting a proposal from me." Circling his hands about her and putting his head on her shoulder, looking at their reflection in the mirror.

It would make a sensual painting. He was fully clothed and she, in her naked glory. It seemed he embraced fire, itself.

Her lips twitched, but didn't show any other hint of her inner thoughts. "Poor girl." She looked at his reflection, smirked. "I'm sure she'll be surprised at the first family gathering with Bennets."

He turned her around to look at her directly. "She'll be surprised, but not at the first family gathering. She'll be when she's invited to our wedding."

She arched an eyebrow. "Are you proposing to me, Fitzwilliam?"

"I am. Shall you, my cruel fiery girl, marry me and bring your fire to my life?"

"Careful. You may get burned," she joked.

"I want to burn… with you. In you."

"Then show me."

And showing he did. He loved this better.
