A Collection Of Other Adventures

Surrounded In Geffen Tower

Date: December 5th, 2022

I wake up in the morning before everyone else once more. But this time, it isn't long before the others wake up too. As a result, we all get ready before heading down to the inn's bar/restaurant. My counterpart pays for food and drink for all of us. That's good because some of us like me have no money. I opt for just some bread, some water, and a couple grapes. Very good stuff and fresh too. Kind of feels enchanted by magic almost. That's pretty cool. But then, some drunk suddenly approaches our group. He's got light skin, ripped muscles, a modified swordsman outfit, gray eyes, and very very short green hair. He looks like a hungry predator at Yufa and Judia: "Hello there ladies, why don't you ditch these light weights and drink with my men and I?" Judia replies with her son sleeping in her lap: "Absolutely not! Why would we drink so early for one and two, with someone as snarky as you?" "Before anyone else says anything, I know your kind. The same kind I beat down a while back after they stole a person's belongings. This is so stereotypical and cliche but why don't you have a round with me? No no, not in drinking. Don't be absurd. I rather like my current state of mind. Everyone, you should get out of here. It's fortunate we're all done eating already. Judia, I know you want to tear his throat apart but let me handle him and his hooded goon squad back over there. I'm not afraid to break a few foolish men. Many men are a bunch of arrogant bastards no matter what world you visit." "But I can handle him!" "That is very likely but my odds of success are greater because you're more of a far ranged fighter while I primarily fight at close range. Besides, y'all need to help the people. They'll trust you more than me because y'all have actually solidified reputations in this city for the most part." Yufa replies: "Adam's right. Let's go." My teammates all leave together with my counterpart calmly staring at this man and his gang. The man tries to punch me but breaks his hand on my armor: "Oww! What kind of armor hurts this much?! Get out of my way, I want those ladies!"

"My apologies to the innkeeper and bartender of this inn, but things are going to get a little ugly. Who are you guys? The Z Gang? I thought they were just a few kids causing trouble in Prontera." The man drinks a healing potion and his hand gets restored: "Impressive! Boys, this foreign knight knows who we are! Let's get this big catch! We'll make a lot of money with this one! Get 'em!" Chaos ensues as the hooded figures come at me as does the men. Ambush style. Classic but not good enough: "The only mercy I'll give you bastards is continued life and not using my sword to break all of you. Try your luck. Use some weapons and spells. I don't care." There is no point mentioning the actions of the Z Gang members when I can just recall the dialogue. "Oof! Aaaaaaaa! *splat*" "You damn foreign knight! Just give up!" "In your dreams. I won't give up to goons like you. Come on, hit me with lightning or something!" "You asked for it! Lightning Bolt!" "You fool! You're hurting us too!" "Sorry boss!" "We can't use magic here! Just use physical weapons! We'll get him!" "Not only are you terrible at logical thinking but you're also not winning. 5 of your dudes are already down. I'm not a he, I'm a they. I'm not a man, I'm a human. And I haven't sweated one bit. It's time for you to witness pain, experience pain, and see pain! Prepare yourselves!" *punch* *punch* *kick* *block knife* In less than a minute, all of the goons fall to the floor. I crack my muscles and smirk at the man: "You ready for me to sort of take you seriously? Give me all you got, tough guy! Bastards like you have no business being swordsmen. They should have you kicked from the guild. But that's not my call. Instead, I'll teach you a lesson here and now that you will never forget." "How dare you insult me! I'll get you! *draws sword*" "Your sword won't save you from defeat. Now that you're swinging it, I can more clearly see the difference in our power levels. As a result, I know for a fact you don't stand a chance. Since when did the Z Gang get run by men anyway. Makes no sense to me."

"It's true that this gang was started by a bunch of little brats. But now, I'm in charge after they failed to capture that famous adventurer?" "So that's how it is. Very interesting. I'm sure the knights will be happy to have you captured. I don't agree with methods such as imprisonment but I'm not from this world so I'm not going to judge that here." 15 seconds later, I'm pointing at his throat with his sword: "Do you give up? What you just experienced is nothing compared to what I can really do. I have a solid understanding of the human body. I could have left you unable to move and squirming in pain on the hard cobblestone of the streets of this city." He's about to answer but falls unconscious. Dominic shows up from Miitopia to quickly clean up the bar and help me get all of the unconscious Z Gang members outside before leaving again. The others appears to have gone ahead and started helping continue rebuilding Geffen. Dominic told me before he left that he wouldn't repair it himself because he's far too busy to have much time to help as always because of the war in Miitopia. I told him that I understood completely and that was that. I guess I should find something to help rebuild but outside of video games, I have very little experience building things. Sure, I've created a lot of art and done quite a few projects that were essentially building something like working with ceramics but none of that will help. I briefly watched as some guards take the Z Gang members away somewhere before going back into the inn. After wandering around a bit upon making sure that we left nothing behind and in fact checked out of the inn, I find a destroyed home burnt and in ruins. Some Geffen guards and knights appear to be rescuing someone while 2 kids watch with tears in their eyes. But before I can volunteer to help, my counterpart beats me to it. They arrive on their Peco Peco and says to their mercenaries: "Raygene, Lillah, please go help out elsewhere in Geffen. The people need all the help they can get."

Lillah, the acolyte/priestess mercenary who has long gray and braided hair, gray eyes, light skin, and black, purple, and white robes replies: "But we must always stay by your side. It's our job as mercenaries." "I know but the people need your help more." "Okay, I'll look for anyone who's injured." Raygene, the swordsman/knight mercenary with short blonde hair, light skin, blue eyes, gold and white armor, and a blue cape with a golden symbol on it adds: "Count me in too! They'll love my sense of style and suave! 'Oh Raygene, you're being a hero as always!' They'll say! It'll be Raygene to the rescue like always and they'll smell my sweet rose aroma!" My body goes white at hearing that and some of my veins feel like they intensified in pressure from that. So now, I'm just in the distance watching this unfold, too bewildered to move. I knew Raygene is like this but it hurts a lot more to hear and see his attitude in person. Lord Knight Swiftdrawer isn't fazed by this. The 2 mercenaries leave and they turn to the 2 kids. The Lord Knight gasps: "Remy? Susan? Are you two okay?" The kids turn and stop crying. Susan, the girl with long platinum blonde hair, brown eyes, light skin, red and white shoes, and a dark red, pink, lilac, red, and white dress replies: "It's you! The knight and adventurer who helped us spend time with dad! *starts crying again* But he's trapped under that house.. Please let him be okay.." Remy, the boy with a bear hood on, brown eyes, light skin, dark brown gloves and shoes, white pants, and a white fur lined at the top brown coat with yellow upper sleeves and yellow at the bottom of it adds: "You look much bigger and stronger! Are you a Lord Knight now? We don't see any often! Please, save our dad! Please let him be alive.. Mom is away on another trip.."

Here's what their dad looks like. Short orange brown hair that covers his eyes, pale skin, and a silver, yellow, red, and black researcher robe with a green belt. "I'll go see if the knights and guards need help. They're putting in a lot of effort to rescue your dad." The kids follow the Lord Knight. And soon, they find one of the guards standing guard while clad in a mask and mostly purple robes with a spear or something in hand: "Greetings, revered adventurer and honored Lord Knight. I see you've met the children. We're having a lot of trouble getting their father out of the rubble. We need your help." "I'm on it! It is my duty to." They dismount from their Peco Peco who patiently stays in place to wait for Swiftdrawer to return from the rubble. The Lord Knight before going in sees me and gestures me over. My body has recovered from Raygene's pompous talk so it is easy to speed walk over: "Let me guess. You want my help in case you're not strong enough to help get him out." "Who's this and why do they kind of look like you, Swiftdrawer?" "Remy and Susan, this is Adam. They're a knight from another land. You could say we're counterparts." "Nice to meet you kids. I hear your dad is quite the monsterologist. Truth be told, my origins are complicated but let's not talk about them. I'll back Swiftdrawer here up in case they can't free your father with the knights and guards without additional help." With that said, the Lord Knight leads the way and we follow them. It turns out that my help is needed so I end up contributing to the rescue of the kids' dad too. It's a success but their dad is unconscious and not responding to attempts to waking him up. I turn to my counterpart: "You still remember the recent CPR training I insisted that you undergo, right?" "Yes, of course. I'll begin chest compressions right away." Swiftdrawer starts administering chest compressions perfectly. The knights and guards are shocked. One of the guards exclaims: "What kind of technique is this? I've never seen anything like this!" I smile: "One of the few things where I'm from that is actually good at this point." "Is our dad going to be okay? I'm so scared!"

"As long as his heart and lungs are working, he'll live. Don't worry too much. But I don't blame you. Seeing someone you care about suffering always hurts to see. Relax and believe in the Lord Knight." My counterpart and I take turns performing CPR for about 10 minutes. Finally, the monsterologist regains consciousness and coughs: "Remy. Susan. I'm so glad you kids are alright and I'm so sorry for making you so scared. I'll do better in the next crisis. Oh, adventurer! It's good to see you again. I wish it were under better circumstances. You've become a Lord Knight. It's an honor to be in your presence. You no doubt have faced many monsters in battle since the kids and I took the balloon house to here. Let me know at any time if you want to share what you've learn with me. I'd like to have more data from adventurers on all of the monsters throughout Midgard." "Dad! Susan was so worried!" "Haha, so were you!" "I don't know what I'd do without you kids. I'm okay now, everyone. You can go about your business now. Come, Susan and Remy. Let's see what we can do to help this city in our own ways." They leave and we exit the ruins of the house after them. The guard from before smiles: "Thank you for all your help. Take this as a reward. Can we ask you to keep helping Geffen? We don't have the updated list of who's missing just yet so you'll have to wait to rescue more people unless you happen to find them while heading around town." I decline the rewards but my counterpart accepts them. After that, we both nod and are asked to help lift things in order to aid in the reconstruction of much of Geffen. One of the guards takes us to a nearby construction site. At the construction site of what appears to be what's left of an inn, I spot Maya and Poi Poi trying to push a box without much success over to where the construction crew has set up shop. The construction crew have outfits of all kinds. This implies they're from all over Rune-Midgarts. One clearly has robes from the city of Morroc for example. Kafra services must have issued an announcement. Hmm. Now I remember something I forgot about yesterday.

There were quite a few knights, mages, assassins, and more who helped in the battle of Geffen against the mechanical monsters. None of us in Roan and Yufa's party were able to pay much attention. I help Maya and Poi Poi push the box: "Come on you two, you should have tried to help with a smaller box. But you wanted to help to a noble extent, right? If so, your actions as foolish as they kinda were are understandable." "*laughs* You're right! Come on, Poi Poi! Let's go help more!" "Wait just one second. I have to tell you something very important." "What do you want? Poi Poi and I are ready to help more!" "I know that but I have a question. Have you spoken with Seyren about your job change that you can do?" "No! I forgot to! Why do you ask, huh?" "Well, I get the feeling that we'll be confronting the Dark Lord much sooner in our journey than in your original journey with Roan, Yufa, Iruga, Takius, and Judia. We'll need everyone to get stronger and fast. That includes you. Changing your job is the best way to get stronger quickly. It's not exactly easy but it saves a lot of effort. You're lucky though. In Miitopia, job changes don't increase one's strength by leaps and bonds or advance them physically in age by years. You don't learn 9 moves as easily there." "You want me to change my job? I don't know about that. I like being a merchant!" "I know but you can become a blacksmith or alchemist! Doesn't that sound exciting to you at all? Alchemists specialize in explosive potions!" "Darn it! You got me! I'll change my job but where do I go for that?" "I'd imagine Alberta or Aldebaran. I remember now. I know the Alchemist Guild is in Aldebaran for sure." "I'm going to Aldebaran! Can you do your teleporting thing?" "Yes but you won't be able to come back easily. Talk to Lord Knight Swiftdrawer about this. They're right over there." "Okay! See you soon!" With that, I get to helping move more boxes and things for the construction crew. Once finished, one of the guards approaches me: "Hey, you there! You helped "rescue that monsterologist who had 2 children, correct?" "Yes, what is it?"

"I'm just here to notify you that all travelers and residents have been accounted for. No one is missing. Everyone who was trapped has been successfully rescued. Now if you'll excuse me, I must return to my post at once." The guard runs off and I smile. Thank goodness they've all been found. Freddie is going to regret doing this to Geffen one day. Not to mention revive the Dark Lord as a half robotic nightmare. The construction crew for the building by us dismisses myself and the other adventurers to help elsewhere with rebuilding efforts in Geffen. And just like that, we spend the rest of the morning helping out reconstruction efforts in Geffen. It's a lot of lifting and consoling those who have been hurt but it's well worth it. After morning has concluded, I meet back up with the others by chance in the middle of the city after seeing some mysterious energy radiating from Geffen Tower. Of course, Maya and Poi Poi are now currently now in Aldebaran so she can become an alchemist. Anyway, Yufa breathes a sigh of relief: "There you are. We were looking for you." "Why is that? I just so happened to be wandering around when I saw the energy. I came here immediately. I'm well aware of what's inside that tower." Maria, a talking white dog with gray eyes and magician replies: "Roan and the others are going to need all the help they can get. Spirit activity has spiked again after yesterday's monster attacks. I already know who you are and that you know who I am. I'm coming with all of you so you don't end up killing yourselves. You also know of that woman over there. My friend, Catherine." Catherine is a woman with long gray hair that is partly tied up in a bun. She has gray eyes, light skin a yellow and green dress with a orange cloth waistband accessory, and separate long green gauntlet like additions that show her fingers in full: "Your friends have told me a lot about you and I've heard from the residents how much help you have given since the monster attacks. Thank you. Are we all ready to enter Geffen Tower? It's best to go in during the day."

We all nod and Maria adds: "The reconstruction efforts are well underway. Make sure there's enough recovery items before we go in." After a few minutes, we conclude that there's enough for all of us. Our group is 18 strong, including the Pecos. But still, we decide to stick together. Before we enter into the actual dungeon of Geffen Tower, we enter the Geffen library inside. Roan gasps: "This wasn't here when we were last inside of here." Maria replies: "During that time, the library was temporarily closed for renovations. The renovations were delayed due to what happened which started as soon as they cleared it all out. That wasn't long after Swiftdrawer came over to ask the librarian to look at a book. But we don't have time to check it out or greet the librarian. We have to keep moving." Swiftdrawer gasps themselves: "Why didn't I hear about that incident? I only heard about it recently from you, Seyren." Seyren replies: "The knights didn't want to cause a panic across Rune so we chose to keep it quiet. Morroc was also under attack but you didn't hear about that either. Around that time, you were traveling far from any city." We continue in silence after that for a bit after Swiftdrawer volunteers to take the lead as they know the Geffen Underground best of anyone on account of spending many hours fighting monsters in it to grow stronger. The kids in our party start trembling in fear at the little mushroom monsters that suddenly swarm around us. But the monsters don't last long. They are easily defeated and we continue onwards inside the underground. Many monsters try to hurt us but not a single one lives long enough to deal much damage if any. As a party, we are far too strong for the monsters on the first floor of the underground. But for the other floors, that's where things start to get a little tricky. On the 2nd floor, we start encountering some ghosts: "Not more ghosts! Do they ever give up?!" Swiftdrawer replies: "I've never seen ghosts down here. What's going on?" Maria sighs: "The portal to Geffenia must be wide open! There are so many ghosts." I curse under my breath and sigh too: "Normal attacks do nothing to these ghosts! They'd made out of a material called ectoplasm. Only energy is able to get to them. And I have no magic so I'm going to sit this one out unless you want Geffen Tower to collapse around us. My fire and wind generating attacks are not a good idea down here at full force."

"Don't worry, you just hang back! We'll take care of this!" "Good! Herbsalvin, let's protect the kids as best as we can." "Right! I'll be right with you!" "Also good. Come on, the ghosts are coming and there's so many of them!" We split off from the ones who can fight without dying and get in front of the acolyte and swordsman who have been entrusted to protect Iruga Jr. who is somehow sound asleep. What does Judia do to cause that? I'd really like to know the answer to that sometime. Anyway, the acolyte says: "Thanks for protecting us. I'll try to defeat a few ghosts. Holy Light!" "Good choice but stay behind us. We'll take on the burden of pain for you. We can handle it more than you can after all. It's not just because your nerves are probably more sensitive. Anyway, your Holy Light attack is strong against these ghosts but don't tire yourself out. I don't want to have to quickly go back to Miitopia to get more HP bananas and MP candies just yet." "I understand." So with that, the fighting for today begins right then and there. After about 20 minutes, all of the ghosts have been defeated but a new problem arises. We're surrounded by Hunter Flies and Nightmares. The others come to us. Raygene utters: "Not even my heroics will save us from this! We're surrounded by so many monsters." Seyren sighs: "We are but we must not give up. Someone wants us dead and unable to go further down here." "I have a feeling that that someone has a vendetta against all of us. This might be related to the Dark Lord, Morroc, or both. Gunnr does prefer to take her time and work in the shadows but it's clear that she's plotting something really nasty to revive Morroc." "If it comes to it, I'll give my life to protect everyone and make Odin proud." Yufa prays: "Oh Odin, please let us make it out of here alive." "No need to pray, Yufa. But if it makes you feel better or whatever, keep it up. We all have some individual far beyond the level of an average mortal to thank for being here in the first place."

"Can y'all get focused already? There are monsters all around us! Charge Arrow!" "Let's do this. If we die, we die trying our very best. That's all we can do. Teleporting away won't solve this. They'll just find us and kill us in our sleeps if we do that. I can't use 2 of my best attacks here but the others are free game. Drawing Destruction! Haaaaaaaa!" I begin our fight against all of the monster who have so unkindly surrounded us. We better make it out of this alive. We have so little room to move that I can't contact anyone even if I wanted to. And the volume of battle makes it impossible to voice command my Quantum Leap band to teleport us away to begin with. I can't just move somewhere quiet to do that. That won't work in this situation. It'd only save me. And that's not good enough. It's just attack after attack. Each Hunter Fly isn't that hard to beat but the Nightmares are a whole other issue. They're turning into our biggest fears en masse and it's leaving us uneasy. The kids are terrified and I'm not too happy to be looking at monsters that look like a bunch of Nazis armed with guns. One of my biggest fears is being hauled off in a truck or car before being killed by American Nazis. That possibility is growing more likely by the day. The queerphobia of America is just inhumane and so cruel. And yet, straight people are thinking that they're in danger because they're so traditional. Ridiculous. But I won't let my fears bring me down. I'm surrounded by comrades. I'm not alone. We're facing these monsters together. "Shield Boomerang! Holy Cross! Battle Chant! Glory Domini! Shield Break!" "Mana Recharge! Holy Light! Magnus Exorcismus! Blessing! Meditatio!" "Super Spin Slash! Darkeye Slash! Drawing Destruction!" "Charge Arrow!" "Lightning Bolt!" "Lion's Roar! Sturdy Strike!" "Magnum Break! Bowling Bash!" "Provoke! Sword Quicken! Joint Break! Berserk!" These attacks decimate many of the monsters but there are still far more to deal with.

Chaos speaks loud enough for me to hear: "You're wearing yourself out. Let's bring on the chaos together for a while, Adam!" "Fine! You win, Chaos Wolg." I put my sword away before punching the nearest monsters with full force, pushing them back long enough for me to get Chaos Wolg out: "Emblem Charge!" "Devastating Crushing Bite!" "With one shot, an immense amount of passion and force will be exerted. Bring on the chaos upon those who dare inflict pain onto others for selfish reasons, Chaos Wolg!" "You monsters have only seen just a small taste of the power of the Emblem Charge! Let's do it again!" "Yeah! I'm ready to unleash the mayhem! It'll be fun!" "Of course you also say that, Chaos. Emblem Charge!" "Devastating Crushing Bite!" "With one shot, an immense amount of passion and force will be exerted. Bring on the chaos upon those who dare inflict pain onto others for selfish reasons, Chaos Wolg!" We keep doing it over and over, destabilizing and/or destroying a huge chunk of the monsters in the process. "I can't keep this up! My core will break if we fire anymore shots and that's not the chaos I want to experience!" "And I don't want to see you go through it. You've done well, my friend. Just rest for now. You have allowed my muscles a nice rest and now, I'll be able to fight these monsters better." "Okay! Good luck!" Judia asks me as I start resuming slicing and dicing more monsters into pieces: "What was that you were fighting with? And why was it talking?" "That it is called a B Daman and they're a bringer of chaos and such! I'll tell you more when we aren't busy fighting for our lives or saving Geffen's residents from more threats." "I gotcha. Take this, monsters! Charge Arrow! Now Falco, dive onto some of these monsters!" I turn to my counterpart and was about to ask if they were okay but I know they are so I turn away to keep fighting. They can battle monsters for hours so I'm not too worried yet. But we're running out of blue potions which are great at restoring mana. I can tell because Yufa's attacks are getting weaker and I can't reach her to give her some MP candies.

If she can't fight, we're pretty screwed to be honest. My counterpart's blue potions are almost all gone and they can't get anything out of their pockets. No one can. Their supply of Yggdrasil Berries are currently inaccessible and that's really bad. They fully restore health and mana as soon as they're consumed and because monsters keep attacking Yggsdrail twice a week, Lord Knight Swiftdrawer keeps getting them as rewards for helping deal with all of the monsters as best as they could. The battle has become repetitive for me. Slash, slice, slice, slice, stab, push. Slash, slice, slice, slice, stab, push. I don't need mana restoring things as my magical core again is still basically dead and I can't hold in like any magic from other sources at all. It just gets released immediately by my body. "Damn it! There are just too many of them to keep this pace. But without being able to access our pockets anymore, what are we even supposed to do? I'll fight harder and see how those monsters like it. I think I can get away with just one of one of my 2 best attacks I really can't use here. It'll give us some breathing room if this works. Haaaaa! Extremely Risky Spin Slash!" Quite a few monsters fall to the attack but more just come up in their place. That's when we hear a familiar voice: "Cart Revolution! Did you guys miss me?" Maya is here and is continuously knocking monsters off balance with her attack which is now extended and stronger than ever. I yell: "You're a Alchemist now, right?!" "That's right!" "Then why aren't you blowing up any monsters?" "I don't know how to make exploding things!" "You don't know how? Then what was the point of you even becoming one?!" "You're the one who recommended I become one!" "Well at least, your stats are higher! That's why your Cart Revolution has been so long! More importantly, we need to take down all of these monsters! There are so many of them still!" That's when I realize that if there were barriers cast to protect the floors above us, I could use my best attack to wipe out a lot of the monsters in seconds. "Listen up, everyone! If anyone can make barriers, I need your help! Cast them onto the ceiling above us! That way, I can use my best attack and decimate a lot of the monsters now that we finally have some breathing room."

Those who can oblige and I grin widely for the first time outside of Earth in a while. I stop fighting monsters with my sword and start kicking them back instead: "Prepare to heal the crap out of me! I'm going to almost die now! Haaaaaaa! Great Infernal Tornado Slash! Take this, you ambushing monsters! May you have a better and less bitter existence in another realm connected to this one!" And with that, a really big portion of the remaining monsters are obliterated or incinerated or crushed by wind force. Even most of the Nightmares are gone now. It takes about 15 minutes to clear the rest of the monsters. The kids and Herbsalvin kept Iruga Jr. asleep and/or quiet the whole battle against all of the monsters. I thank them and begin looking around to see if there are any left. I don't see any and thank Yufa for saving me from a painful death when I used my best attack. My muscles are kinda sore but I can take it. We rest for a couple of minutes before continuing further into the Geffen Underground. We're still above the Geffenia ruins but we're getting closer. It's so creepy down here but that doesn't bother me too much as someone who loves horror films and haunted houses. None of us have our guards down after all of that. Now, it's far too quiet. Swiftdrawer speaks up: "Where are all of the monsters? There's always so many when I'm here. It's strange." I reply: "Crap. We must be in an instance dungeon which is a scenario in which a magic barrier sounds an area and no one leaves until all the monsters are defeated. That's why everything we've encountered has been well coordinated and why there aren't any monsters around here. Someone is here for sure. But what do they want from the Geffen Underground?" "You're right. I can tell too." "How many times have you been to this place and how long have you been adventuring, Swiftdrawer?" "I don't know for either one. I've lost track of time more times than I can count." That's when a black and blue? creature appears. Seyren gasps: "That's an Infernal Nightmare. I haven't seen one since I came down here to collect materials to help run the knights when I was still undergoing the job change to join the knights. It's been an ambition I've had since I was little. I barely managed to get away with my life."

Swiftdrawer adds: "I've fallen unconscious many times trying to fight some. They aren't easy for even me to kill." "Very true. But we might have a chance if we all fight the Infernal Nightmare together." Everyone is on board with that plan and we begin to fight against the Infernal Nightmare. Not an easy fight but a fight nevertheless. There are far too many of us dealing damage for the Infernal Nightmare to spend much time hurting any of us specially. That and because we have 4 party members who can cast healing spells, none of us get even close to dying except me but I'm healed before things get too bad for me. After some time, I realize that the Infernal Nightmare is big enough to take on Great Infernal Tornado Slash with nothing else getting impacted by it so I start doing that risky attack multiple times. Because of all the healing going on, doing so isn't that much of a problem. Minutes later, we have successfully killed the Infernal Nightmare. My counterpart takes many of the rewards left behind but doesn't get the Infernal Nightmare card. Roan does and he holds onto it after being told that cards are very helpful in battle despite how rare they are by my counterpart. We rest again but are forced to stand right back up as a Dracula MVP boss shows up. Maya recklessly attacks the monster but does no damage. This angers the Dracula who severely wounds her with one attack. Maya is healed but now, all of us are sweating, even Seyren who shows no fear. I attack myself by using my best attack. It's not nearly enough. It only does a little damage but I'm fortunately healed fast enough to avoid an attack of Dracula's. I sigh: "Damn. I wish we had some comrades from Miitopia to help us. Some of them could kill Dracula instantly with one magical move. Among them, some are chefs. They could turn big ol' Dracula into a meal platter with a move known as Monster Dinner. *feels something* Oh. I got distracted. Dracula hurt me or at least tried to. My armor is too strong for their attacks for now. We don't stand a chance at beating em!"

"Not true since I'm here! Sanctuary! Blessing! Turn Undead!" Yufa unleashes a powerful Holy attack on Dracula. It does some damage: "I was hoping that would be enough to kill him." Dracula gets aggressive and starts trying to attack us. Maya and the other kids along with Poi Poi run away screaming. Roan exclaims: "We gotta go after them but we have to stop Dracula too! They might run into something even worse than Dracula! We must split up. It's the only way." "Except that our odds of surviving Dracula will drop if we split up. I have a better idea. You retreat and find the kids. I'll keep Dracula busy." Judia replies: "But that's suicide!" "Not if you have measures designed to survive highly dangerous situations like this one! I'll be okay. Just go! Go on! Get out of here right now! Quickly, go! Make haste!" The others reluctantly follow my urgent words and retreat. I grimly smile: "Now it's just you and me, Dracula. To quote a comrade of mine who needs to now be reminded of his true purpose again: 'I can't fight you but I can resist you'. I have no chance of killing you by myself. And it seems that communications are jammed down here. Damn it. There must be an immense amount of magic here. It's like a cult ritual is going on nearby. Now then, try to kill me, Dracula! TRY ME!" I pull out my shield and get ready to dodge and defend. I do that for a while and remain unhurt with only a few minor scratches on my armor. I'm still too fast for even a MVP boss monster to kill me. Thank goodness. So it seems that just as I thought, this monster wouldn't stand a chance against someone like Beerus, Universe 7's God Of Destruction. My opportunity to escape doesn't appear until I make it happen: "Continuous Extremely Risky Spin: 100! Haaaaaaa!" With all of these attacks getting in Dracula's face, I run off as fast as I can after putting my sword and shield away in the direction of Roan and the others. I don't see them so I go back up to the first floor of the Geffen Underground. And there they are, as far away from Dracula as possible. I keep running to join them in sitting down, resting, and calming down. Yufa is relieved to see me: "You're okay! Are you injured at all?"

I shake my head and Judia adds: "Woah there! We thought you were just assuring us things would be okay after you would give your life! Stop scaring us like that!" "I told you I'd be okay. My armor is far too strong for Dracula. That's why I survived. Have any of you tried going back outside of here into the safety of the library." Maria has a grim expression: "We did but even if we opened the door, we couldn't step through it no matter what we tried. Butterfly wings included." "Well damn. That's just great. *fails to contact anyone to come help* We're stuck here and I can't contact anyone to help us. This is just the worst. The absolute worst." Lord Knight Swiftdrawer says: "We should set up camp here. There are no more monsters up here anymore." "I agree. That's the only solace for us now at this point. That's annoying. Oh well. Herbsalvin, would you mind keeping watch as we all try to sleep tonight?" "Of course. Don't worry, Adam. If there are monsters coming, I will wake up all of you to let you know and to deal with them. I suggest all of you do some training. Much of the day is still left to go. It's still the afternoon. I'll also keep watch as you train more." We also agree to that plan of action. But before we can get started, Spectre appears before us with the Arunafeltz assassin from yesterday paralyzed in fear and shaking heavily: "I have retrieved all of the information I could out of this man. When I summoned my Sunvine and Sunavalon friends, he let's just say became more cooperative. It was quite enjoyable. It's a shame I've extracted all of the fun out of him that I could." Roan asks: "Who are you and how did you get here? You sound evil!" "Don't be rash, crusader. I'm a friend. A friend if you want me to be but a friend of Adam's regardless. My name is Spectre. I assume Adam hasn't told you about your friends who died yet or about myself and others." "Of course you nail that one, Spectre. It's true." "Ah yes I was right. Now as I was saying. I'm Spectre. I'm a member of an organization called the Knights Of Hanoi. I've been quite interested in meeting the likes of you. After all, your friends aren't dead. They're alive in Link VRAINS."

"What in the hell is Link VRAINS? That sounds ridiculous!" "I assure you, Judia the hunter, that it is only ridiculous if you can't handle how complex it is. Yes, I know everything there is to know about all of you. Link VRAINS is another dimension created with advanced technology. It is where the Knights Of Hanoi are located. Your friends Takius, Iruga, and Keough were transported to it. Adam, Dominic did fill you in on the details of that day, right?" "Yes, I know everything. How is the process of returning to them to this world going now?" "Not well, I'm afraid. But more importantly, let me tell you what I got out of the man. But I can't stay much longer. I have other business to take care of as well in Link VRAINS. An unknown user keeps appearing in the systems of Link VRAINS. They appear to be using some kind of magic." "That's odd. Hope you figure out who that is. Anyway, what did you learn?" "I learned many things including the White Witch's ongoing plots and plans. But in order to protect the flow of time in this world, I'm afraid that I can't share that information. However, that's not all I learned. I learned everything there is to know about the man and how angry Gunnr has been thanks to so many of her plans being foiled or changed over and over again." He explains for a couple more minutes before bidding us farewell. After that, we all train and I explain everything I promised to explain to the others while Maya takes care of Iruga Jr. since we agreed that she's more responsible after changing her job and growing older as a result. As for the man, Maria and Catherine bind him far but not too too far from where we just ended up setting up camp. Camping in tents inside an underground dungeon. How Miitopian. The rest of our day is spent staying alert for Dracula and ANYTHING ELSE that's down there or even further down. The man doesn't move or respond to anything the whole time. He just remains in the same state as earlier. Spectre must be tormented him for hours with his entire deck. The Hanoi member is talented at messing with people's heads.

Let's just hope that our training will be enough to survive what's below us and eventually get out of here somehow. It appears that some people are trying to rescue us but to no avail. They can't get inside the magical barrier which we are stuck in. They even get Varmundt to help out but it's no use and we can't hear them. Oh well. After training, we eat dinner with food that Maya so happened to buy from other merchants in Geffen before sleep in or around the tents. What a day. Outro: Well, wasn't this one something?! I certainly think so! After all, I was planning on having the Geffen Tower adventure start later in the chapter but I'm glad it didn't. The trajectory of this arc that I originally dictated a while back has been heavily altered but I'm happy how things are progressing. And I hope you fans of Ragnarok Online, Ragnarok Origin, Alien, Miitopia, Yugioh VRAINS, and Ragnarok The Animation are especially enjoying this. 3 more chapters of this 8 part arc to go! The last two will essentially be the final battle so be ready! And yes, Varmundt will definitely appear in my stories from here on out! Okay, that's all for now. Bye bye!
