A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

In the early morning hours, a young girl is sleeping, curled up against a wall and shielded by a barricade of cargo carriers, when the wind picks up suddenly as a light freighter starts to touch down at a nearby landing pad. The roar of the thrusters jostled her awake, and the sun blinded her as she opened her eyes to the new day.

Forcing herself awake quickly, she peeks out behind the crates and looks around at her surroundings, following her long perfected routine. As she starts her scan of the area, she quickly and quietly picks up her old beat-up backpack and slings it around her shoulders. She looks around for troopers, imperial officers, and anyone who might pose a threat. She repeats this scan again, then once more for good measure. When she finally deems the area safe. She gets up and quickly steps out into the open, joining the flow of Lothal.

She finds a somewhat large group and follows behind them. Not close enough to weird them out, not far enough away to stand out. She looks around the landing pad to see what had come in overnight and what had left, taking inventory of the new possibilities.

After spotting a large group leaving a ship, she ducks between shipping crates and ships to hide herself until she's close enough to hear what the group is saying.

"The rendezvous is in 4 hours at shadow site 6," a man says.

Hearing this comment, the young girl rolls her eyes at the strange language, and while the comment is weird, it gives her enough information to figure out her plan. She ducks behind a crate and watches the group walk away. Seeing them all walk off and split up before heading into the city is enough to give the girl the confidence to get to work.

She starts dodging between ships and people towards the large light freighter the group had just left from. Getting up to the ship, she starts her attempt at the control panel to try and get it up, occasionally looking over her shoulder to watch out for trouble. After a few minutes of struggling, she finally gets it open. Putting on her best act she yells out "Dad, you're back!"

She steps onto the ship confidently, hoping that anyone who sees her enter will think she's just a kid going into her dad's ship, and that anyone who might still be on the ship will think she just got into the wrong one. Quickly closing the bay doors behind her she calls out once again to double-check. "Dad?" she yells. She pauses once again and when she hears no response or movement on the ship, she starts.

She starts to walk quickly through the ship, searching for any valuables. She quickly finds a stash of credits and starts to count out enough to last her a while, but hoping it's not enough that the ship's owners will notice it immediately. She shows the credits into her bag before moving on towards the cockpit looking for any equipment good enough to sell and small enough to hide in her bag. Picking up whatever she can, she moves on again towards the rooms on the ship. She finds four little bunks and starts to move through each.

The first one she steps into is barren and looks unlived in except for a few clothes. With nothing important, she moves into the next one. It's the exact opposite of the previous and is covered in clothing and junk, like imperial helmets and outfits. The girl gags at the mess and quickly retreats.

She goes across the hall and finds a room that's just as full but with something different. It's full of art, and the walls are covered. The girl is awestruck but she has little time to work and she can't waste it. She grabs a few pieces of clothing that are thrown on the floor to replace her old beat up clothes that she's quickly outgrowing. She takes another peek around the room before deciding it's time to move on.

She walks back towards the doors she came in, knowing that her time is running out, and she has a good collection of stuff to pawn off. As she's about to leave, her eyes find a lone bowl of jogans sitting on a table. She hesitates for a moment, fear takes over her mind, worried that the owners could return at a moment's notice, but the growling in her stomach clears the fear and she takes a quick step towards the table.

The sound of a throat clearing echoes through the ship.

Hearing the sound, the kid makes a quick jolt for the blaster hidden under her jacket, but the stranger quickly stops her by grabbing the girl's shoulders and turning her around to face them. She looks up slightly to find a green twi'lek woman scowling at her.

"What are you doing on my ship?"

Desperate to avoid getting tossed to the stormtroopers and taken into imperial custody, she quickly spits out a lie. "Your ship? I was supposed to meet my uncle on his ship. I thought this was his."

She narrows her eyes at this. "Yeah, sure you did," the woman says. She moves one arm down to the girl's shoulder and uses her other hand to snatch the bag from the kid's hand and open it up. She opens it up to find stolen equipment, clothes, and credits stuffed into the backpack. She quickly tosses it to the table nearby before staring down the girl again. "I'll ask again, what are you doing on my ship"

The girl's heart pounds at the woman's discovery. She knows she can't risk getting turned into the stormtroopers, so she uses her free arm to punch the woman's arm that's holding her in place before turning and sprinting for the bay door she came in.

The woman tries to quickly grab her, but the girl is already out of her reach as she continues to run towards the door. The woman starts to chase after her. Racing through the large ship, she knocks down things behind her, leaving a trail of destruction. Desperately racing, hoping to escape the ship and the punishment that would await her if she fails.

She climbs down the ladder as quickly as possible, skipping the last three rungs and as she reaches the door, she starts to smash buttons on the control panel in a desperate attempt to break out, but it's futile. The woman catches up to her, grabs her, and pulls her away from the control panel. "Let me go!" the desperate girl cries out.

"No! Not until you tell me why you broke into my ship," the woman nearly shouts, the chase wearing down on her patience. "Why are you stealing from me?"

The girl breaks down and cries. The stress from breaking into the ship and getting caught finally hits her, and she can't help but sob. "I'm sorry, and I won't come back, I promise, just let me go! You can even keep the backpack."

This reaction startles the woman, and she takes a deep breath, trying to calm herself down from snapping at the kid. "I'm not going to hurt you. I want to know why you tried to steal from me."

The girl's tears lessen at the change in the lady's behavior. She hesitates to answer, but finally gives in. "I needed supplies."

"Supplies?"

The girl nods her head hesitantly. The woman wasn't satisfied with the answer but didn't want to press it much further so she tried another approach. "Where are your parents?" the woman questioned.

"Gone."

The woman sighs at the ambiguous answer. "Do you have any family around?"

The girl pauses but shakes her head no.

The answer saddened her, but she didn't give up on her questioning. "What's your name?" the woman presses.

The girl hesitates. She doesn't want to give away her name, especially to a stranger. The woman notices her reluctance. "I'm Hera, Hera Syndulla. Will you tell me your name?" The woman urged.

"Trix, my name is Trix," says the girl.

"Nice to meet you, Trix."
