This is a solo Ainz story where Momonga, aka Suzuki Satoru arrived in the New World on his own.
The reasons for this story are pretty simple : Exploration and Progression.
Ainz had said in one of his monologue that if he had arrived alone in the New World, then he would most likely chose to explore the world than sitting in his tomb.
On top of that, the Overlord was going to end soon. That alone made me very sad, but it was inevitable. The story was a masterpiece and its each portion was kinda intriguing. That's also the reason for me writing this story.
The sword shone with a fearsome glint that put Enri and his sister, Nemu, to shut their eyes. They were going to die here. Death was not something they were unaware of, but rather, it was the untimely death which they were unaware of. And such a thing was enough to scare these two village girls.
They waited for the strike which was going to claim their lives. Yet, much to their surprise, none of them felt any sort of pain or scream.
Enri was already in pain, as she ran too much today. She remembered how her father fought bravely so she and Nemu could survive this onslaught. Unfortunately, they underestimated these knights in armor, who followed them to the forest where she was slashed by one of her pursuers. His blade injured her back, thus, making her incapable of running away.
Her sister was already in tears, as even she understood the hopeless situation they were in.
Enri grabbed her sister closely to her chest, as she was ready to take any strikes from these knights. However, when the death never claimed her under few minutes, she opened her eyes daringly to pique.
The two knights, who were once ready to kill her without any shred of remorse, stood in a stun. They were watching something behind her.
Curious to see herself, Enri slowly stared at their line sight. However, what she saw was anything but pleasant.
"!"
There stood a knight in rusty grey armor with a bastard sword in one hand and a tower shield in another. The knight was over 2 m tall and it was not a human.
It was a monster.
An undead monster whose empty sockets were seeing them with coldness and killing intent. That was a monster who could not be described by anything except Death Knight — a legendary monster whose story she had heard from her father. But she never believed at his bedtime stories ... until now.
The knight broke the eye contact and took a huge leap faster than the knights could react. With one single maneuver, the bastard sliced her adversaries in half. The slash was abrupt, but strong enough to cut them through their torso. The blood sprayed all over the ground and the smell of blood filled her surroundings.
While she prayed for a hero, this monster showed up and her hopes started to wither away. Her chance to save herself and her sister was nowhere to be found.
"Atleast our death will be painless..."
With such a strength, this monster could claim their lives without any problem. She was ready accept her death right here, until the Death Knight ignored her and Nemu's presence like they were not even there. It ran towards the village with a battlecry and soon vanished from her line sight.
"Sister, are you okay?"
Nemu finally broke the daze of surprise from Enri's face, who was still in pain. While the blood and gore were enough to scare any children, neither of them seemed to mind it. They had seen the worst today, and anything more than that would not be enough to scare them much.
"You are injured."
"Wha—?!"
Except a man who just came behind them out of nowhere. That brought quite a surprise out of them.
"Hmm, have I scared you? Apologies, I was just checking your wounds."
The newly arrived person was a masked magic caster clad in black robes which was the most eye-catching thing in his visage. He wore an elaborate mask which caught her eyes, while his pauldrons were adored with jewels and precious metals. Not to mention his height, which was easily 2 m tall. The man, if his voice was anything to go by, was speaking to her.
"I-Is that your monster?"
"Uh, yes. But let's not go into that. Drink this potion to heal yourself."
He replied with a calm tone and produced a potion out of nowhere. Compared to other potions that she had seen in her friend's shop, this potion was red in colour like it was made from the human blood. The potion bottle was also very beautifully crafted and it looked like the work of a genius.
Enri hesitated for a moment, not because of the colour of the potion and how nonchalantly this man was giving her such an exquisite bottle, but rather it's monstrous servant whom he controlled.
She put some courage in her heart and grabbed the potion. So far, the man in black robes did not carry any bad intents against her and her sister. If he could control that monster, then he might be strong enough to easily kill her at thus moment, yet he did not.
Opening the bottle, she did not waste any time and drank the whole potion without worrying about the contents of the potion. She had no time to think much about it.
Much to her surprise, the potion worked faster than she anticipated and got healed very quick. The injury and the pain vanished like they were never there to begin with.
"Seems like it worked. Now, I have some questions for you. Answer them honestly, okay?" He asked, even though it sounded more as an order, to which she easily complied.
"Yes. Ask away."
"My first question is..."
At the midnight, when the YGGDRASIL finally shut down all of its servers, a certain heteromorphic player stayed up for the sake of his guildmates. Yet, only one of them came that day.
Ainz Ooal Gown, was one of the most notorious guild which quickly managed to rise in prominence with their handful of players. The guild was famous for its heteromorphic players, villainous role-playing, PKing and PKKing tactics which they mostly used for creating havoc, confusion and chaos in the game.
The guildmaster of Ainz Ooal Gown — Momonga– was a heteromorphic player himself who role-playing as a skeleton mage rather than power gaming. Though he spend most of the time protecting the guild and its members, he eventually found himself in a very problematic situation where he was left all alone.
As the real life obligations took precedence, the guild members started to quit themselves from the game and thus, from the guild itself. This brought a huge impact on the ranking as well as the emotional health of Momonga who could not bear his friends leaving the game. However, it was inevitable at this point since he could not stop the ending of the game itself.
Momonga decided to farm XP, loots and various items to maintain the guild from becoming weak and fragile. Though he wanted to use World Items to do something about his guildbase, he eventually let it be like that.
And so, he waited for any of his friend to come back at Nazarick. So he could finally enjoy the very sane moments that he spent with his buddies. Unfortunately, the fate had other plans for him, because only one of the guildmember came that day. And that member was HeroHero.
Due to immense exhaustion, HeroHero was not feeling well. He demanded to sleep as his shifts were not going to end and so Momonga did not stop him from logging out.
After then, it was all boring and nothing new happened. The items that he bought for his friend's were going to be wasted as well. The night was going to be his saddest night after his mother's death.
Not wanted to stay at one place, he decided to take a different approach. He came today to give the game one final farewell for all the happy memories that he made here. So, sitting in this tomb without doing any fun was not going to be his cup of tea. He wanted some actions and so, he took his guild weapon and two more world items with him. Just in case, if he found a trouble on his way, there would be no issues.
And after finding a good location, while navigating in the troublesome terrains of the Helheim, Momonga finally found a place to put his fireworks at place.
While he watched the fireworks on his own, the world around him shifted and he found himself in the middle of a grassland.
After then, he checked through various means, that if there were any technical issues or not. And no, he understood the matter very fast, that he was truly transported to another world and there was no denying this fact.
He came to realize that there were also no need to go back at his work as he had nothing much to do there. Unfortunately, his friends were not here and his 9th tier spell Gate was not working at all. All because he had never went to his world with his current avataar.
Having a lot of free time, he decided to check how his spells, skills and summons were working here. And he was truly impressed by the new capabilities of his powers. The time duration, area of effect and effects of his powers were functioning way beyond their actual limits. Not to mention the summons were capable of making a mental link with him that enhanced his ability to command them despite not being with them.
Before coming to this village, he had already wiped out a group of goblins and ogres that he came across. Though he initially wished to make a diplomatic relation with them, they were far more aggressive than he assumed at first. There, he learned that the Death Knights or any other undeads need a corpse to stay in this world forever. It was his recent discovery with necromancy in this new world.
The two girls whom he saved just now were retelling the entire incident of these knights. However, their information was not adequate enough and they were also not that educated in the more general fields of urban life.
"Alright. That seems to be more than enough."
He finally stopped the elder girl named Enri Emmot who seemed to the big sister of the other girl named Nemu Emmot. Her ground information of the village was very welcoming, but lacked various things to put out. Therefore, he decided to stop her and put his attention on more pressing matters.
The Death Knight had killed the knights in armor and was waiting for his next orders. Through his Undead Slave Sight, he could see the fear and confusion on the face of the villagers. He had to fix their confusion before they reached to any wrong conclusion.
"It seems than my servant has already killed the remaining knights. Follow me and fix their confusions before they take any rash decisions."
He stated her the matter of fact and, subtly, let her explain the whole ordeal to them. He did not want any future complications with these people until he found the true position of his own in this world.
"Um, thank you for helping us."
"Thank you."
The girls bowed down their heads in total gratitude for his rescue of their lives. Though he wanted to abandon them at first, the words of Touch Me resonated in his brainless head. It was his friend's memories that guided him here, otherwise he had already planned to search for other sentient lifeforms who could provide the necessary knowledge.
"Don't mind it. After all, helping someone in need is a common sense."
