Catch-22: The Terms

By: M14Mouse

Summary: The persona and Yu might need to work out some things…just some small little things. Really.

Disclaimer: Don't own them.

Many thanks to AKatsinTcups for betaing this chapter.

Let us make a special effort to stop communicating with each other, so we can have some conversation. Mark Twain

"Hmmm…interesting plan. High risk and high reward," The persona said thoughtfully.

"It is sort of a Catch-22. My plan could backfire and have consequences."

"The best plans usually do. Tea Kettle isn't going to go for some ordinary bait either. Your set up might get his attention. Question is, will it be enough?"

Yu nodded his head.

"It will be."

"You have guts. This should be fun! How about it, Izzy? Ready to work together?"

He felt Izanagi stirring again.

Easy. You know that I won't agree to anything yet. I still have some questions to ask him.

The knave is a spy. Thou should cut his eyes out.

There are no eye cutting from you, Izanagi.

He heard clearly the sound of a sword drawing. Mentally, he held out his hand to stop Izanagi.

If we don't like what he has to say, then you can cut out his eyes.

HEY!

"What are your questions?" The persona asked.

"I want the truth."

"The truth? I will let you in on a little trade secret. No one tells the truth. It always half lies and half-truths. The truth is like a peacock. All pretty until they are caught. When you have a lot of peacocks around, the main peacock is shower and wants to prove they are the top dog even if they are in a corner. Getting them alone is the key. They don't have to show off as much and you see their true nature. Then again…you already know that."

He frowned.

Peacocks?

What was he babbling about?

"Fun fact, peacocks can fly. Personally, I prefer wolves and dragons. Although, dragons can be fickle little bastards especially when it comes to treasure or territory. Once, I wandered into a dragon's dominion. He gave me the evil eye for miles. He wasn't even quiet. He stomped around his place like he owned it."

He could feel Koyro giving the persona a look, but his attention was on the strange persona. None of their interactions have been this strange before…. unless...

Izanagi, is someone listening to us?

He heard his other personas mumbling inside in his head.

We sense something but we aren't seers, Master.

Well, fucking finally…I thought that I would have to talk about owls next. Those birds are fucking stupid. I hate talking to owls. Flying rat traps.

Yu rose his eyebrow slightly at the persona.

"Fun fact, cats can move their ears 180 degrees."

"You and cats, laddie. We have to work on that."

Do I have to guess who is watching us?

You only get one guess, lad.

The Fake.

Bingo.

"Not really. Cats are awesome."

It is really my fault. I pushed too hard, too soon. I got his attention with my little stunt. Tappy may be an ass but he is holding up his end of his bargain for now.

Then you're an idiot.

"Getting to the point at hand, you haven't answered my questions. I won't agree until I get the truth. So, try again," Yu said as he took a seat back on the ground.

"You have to agree to them," The persona said as he waved his hand…staff? He couldn't really tell.

"Says who?"

"Says me because you can't get outof here."

"Oh, I will get out of here."

Thanks for pointing that out to me again.

Not a problem.

The persona snorted.

"How?" The persona asked.

"First off, my students will be coming soon. I can't imagine that they would want me to stay here. Second, if I go down, you go down."

"Point taken."

You asked the fake to create this place. So, you could take me out?

No, I didn't ask him to do anything. Cookie would have turned it around on me somehow. In reality, I've wanted to form a pact with you for a while now. Hard to do when we don't trust each other. Even harder, when he's watching us like a hawk. He must have sense it somehow and moved to stop it. That is why we are here.

"So, terms?" He asked.

"I want every other Thursday," The persona said.

"To do what?"

"To have fun."

"To have fun?"

"Yes. Crazy girl is right. You're boring"

"I'm not boring."

"Okay, I should rephrase that. Not boring. Need more excitement in your life."

Very slowly, Yu blinked. Has this persona lost his mind?

"I think that I have enough excitement. So, no."

"Why the hell not? It will be fun. Quality bonding time."

Yu smiled cheekily.

"Because I can."

The persona almost tried to stare him down.

"Which one of your personas taught you that?"

In his head, Pyro Jack rose his lantern.

"Of course, it would be the one that I couldn't understand."

"Sensei? Support Buddy?"

He jolted his head upward when he heard Futaba-chan's voice.

"Oracle?"

"Support Buddy! Oh my god, I heard Support Buddy. He is alive! We are going to get you out and we going to kick this guy's ass!" Futaba said in relief.

He chuckled.

"We are! We're coming to you. Are you okay? I heard you talking to someone."

"I'm fine. A little bit of headache. I'm in the middle of a negotiation."

"Negotiation?"

"Yes, we are talking about I need more excitement in my life. So, it might take a while."

He could feel Futaba pausing.

"You meet the strangest people, Support Buddy."

"You have no idea."

End of the Terms

They are hilarious together. Papyrus, yes, Theo had to work overtime to get the IT to stay (You see parts of that conversation in later chapters). I will ask. Do you guys prefer if I answer individually or put you guys comment in the notes?

Thank you for the reviews, kudos, favorites, etc. Anyway, read and review if you wish.
