Chapter 26
The wedding ceremony for my group of girls was very fun, especially since Cosmo was barely able to contain her excitement when she had found out she was going to be one of the girls getting married. And as for the guests, they consisted of all the allies we'd made over our time, minus two in the form of Commander Topaz and Shadow, as they were currently at work in a secret assignment. Which assignment was this? Trying to find out anything about a secret agent unit called Jackal Squad. So, yeah, Infinite was definitely going to appear in the future, as much as I hated it.
But during the ceremony, I noticed something about some of the guests, mainly Amy, Sonic, and Cream. Cream was a little antsy, Sonc looked to be checking his watch every few minutes, and Amy looked to be blushing and red faced the whole time. And when I asked them what was going on, I had learned that Cream felt overwhelming strength coming from all over my body, same with Cheese, which I had to explain was because of the 7 rings that were on my body. And that I'd tell her more when I visited her in the near future. Sonic admitted that he was a bit concerned at the time passing, since he knew that the mission from GUN was because Jackal Squad was hired by Eggman to protect an important base of his, one that was found to have built his armies in secrecy over the past 3 years, leading to his release from prison 3 days prior to our wedding ceremony.
And Amy? I'll let her say it. "I've been thinking lately about a lot of things... Every time that I try to go after Sonic, he completely ignores me and actively avoids me. But you?... You've shown me tons of kindness and helped me out a lot. I... I think I'm just jealous that you're getting married to a bunch of other girls... and I couldn't tell you the truth," she said, me already knowing what it was, since the rings, mixed with the powers of the Chaos Emeralds allowed me to sense it. She was feeling tons of love for me.
"Amy?" I asked as I simply held her hand in mine, her looking at me with a blush. "Even if I am married, I can still ask out other girls, so long as I get the others' permission. If you want to, we can be in a relationship, so long as I get permission... would you like that?" I asked, her blushing before then making a small squeak.
"Y-Yes... Yes, I'd love that," she said before then pulling me closer to give me a kiss. And since she was 16, in hedgehog years, she was considered an adult, meaning I was very reciprocating of it. And she and I blushed afterwards, as we both felt sparks. And when I did ask my new wives' permission to pursure Amy, the deal was set. They said that, so long as no favorites were made, I could pursue other girls.
"I talked to them, and they said, so long as I don't play favorites, I'm allowed to pursue other girls," I smirked, Amy blushing and then giving me a hug, me smirking at how I was still roughly a foot taller than her, but that just meant I could pet her furry head when we hugged.
"Thank you so much... I can't wait for our first date," she smiled at me. I smirked at her happily at that.
"How about we have it in two days? We'll go out to eat at a fancy restaurant," I smiled, her smirking at that.
"Which one?" she asked.
"The fanciest restaurant in town, the Mighty Chaotix," I smirked, her smirking at that.
"You mean that new restaurant that Mighty made? And that place is fancy to you?" she asked, me smirking at that.
"Have you ever eaten there?" I asked, her frowning and shaking her head. "It's a very fancy place, filled with French delicacies, Italian pasta, and it has Spanish desserts," I smirked, her smiling at me.
"I'll believe it when I see it," she smiled at me.
And indeed, Amy did believe it when she saw it. The place was very fancy, and Amy was actually surprised by the decor and the taste of the food.
"MMmMMM! So good!" she trilled in joy from the taste, me smirking at how she was able to eat Duck A 'Lorange and love its taste. But because of our body types, that was the main course, along with some Beef Minestrone soup as an appetizer and Leche Frita as the Spanish Dessert. And yeah, that translated to fried milk. And it was the best low-Calorie dessert I'd eaten in my life!
"And the best part is that the waiters don't even need to be given tips," I smirked, her smiling at that.
"That's always a bonus," she giggled as we then paid for the meal, which consisted of 5000 rings total for the meal. But considering that rings were equal to Yen in terms of money, that meant the meal was 39 dollars with tax, which was a steal for a fancy restaurant! And since I'd gotten even more rings from the Black Knight adventure and the normal adventures as well, I now had roughly 10 million rings total in the bank, which was awesome.
But then, shortly after the first date, we got some news from Sonic. That Eggman was making a giant armada of ships in space and that he was planning bad stuff again. So how could I not go along with him? But even more surprising was that Amy and Cosmo wanted in as well.
"You're sure you want to join in, Cosmo? Eggman's a tough foe with an IQ of 300," I said, her smirking at me.
"I don't want any harm to come to my new home. And I want to join in on this adventure. After all, you're half Mobian. I doubt you'd be able to survive the vacuum of space without my help," she said, me frowning. I knew she was right. I hadn't managed to survive in space before and could only do so on the ARK, which had natural Oxygen.
"Then let's get going, then, before he does something very bad," I said. I knew exactly what was going to happen, and Cosmo was already given the truth, since all of my other wives knew it. But she knew not to say a word to anyone else in our friend group, for one balding, bulbous reason. And that same reason would probably do tons of harm to the world if he knew what I knew.
Regardless, we then started to us mine and Cosmo's powers to have us fly into space and go onto the main flagship of the fleet, where we then made our presence known by smashing my fist into the hull, causing a small eruption of sorts.
"Assemble and kill the intruders!" Eggman shouted, his mecha robots then emerging for our group to absolutely demolish with Sonic showing off his new boost skill to slam into all of them while Amy smacked her hammer into them and me and Cosmo used our powers on them in the form of her gravity powers and my Chaos powers. I'd decided during the downtime between the weddings that I'd use the 7 rings' power very sparingly, mainly because I didn't want Eggman to know about them.
And after all the robots had been destroyed, Eggman then came in via his walking mech and proceeded to send numerous missiles at us, our group dodging them before he managed to grab all four of us in one go with his extendable arm! And before he could crush us, Sonic then showed off that he had the 7 emeralds, which all of us then used to turn Super! And Cosmo's super form made her gain magenta skin as well as for her head to grow in size and for her to gain three more arms! We then proceeded to demolish Eggman's mech, forcing him to retreat in his Eggmobile through the armada, which all four of us managed to demolish the whole way until we finally got to his room.
"Y-You lot... I-I'm sorry, please forgive me! I'll turn over a new leaf, I swear, just please, mercy!" Eggman said, trying to feign innocence as I noted that he looked strangely like a real-life version of himself, which was better than I expected him to look. And I then looked at the others with seriousness.
"Well, this is new. Showing remorse, Eggman? If you had asked for it and did this before, I wouldn't have to break all of your toys," Sonic smiled as Eggman then hit a switch, me then getting out of dodge... or so I thought. I gawked at how Eggman had at least 5 different traps around the main trap, me gasping at how I was now wrapped up in electrical wires and feeling pain from it!
"You bastard!" I shouted in anger as he smirked at me.
"Says you, miss know-it-all," he said, me gulping. Was he serious? "You really think I wouldn't notice how knowledgeable you are about all this stuff? Why would you know how to demolish my plans so effortlessly and know where I'm going to be before I even strike?" he asked, me shivering from this. He was bluffing, he had to be! "You can see the future, obviously! So, I simply listened in with some tracking devices and overheard that you saw what would happen in this adventure! So now, be prepared to suffer for tricking me so much!" he shouted as he then pushed a button, causing me and the others to screech in pain as we had the emeralds forcefully dislodged from us and for him to then blast the earth with the laser, luckily in the middle of the ocean.
But when he did this, I felt tons of pain as I felt my form starting to change... I felt my claws extend and become sharper, I felt my hair lengthen and become hard as diamonds... and I felt my furry parts completely overtake my skin as I howled in pain! And as for the others? Amy had somehow changed into a feral-looking version of her original look, just aged up to 15. And Cosmo? She had become completely coated in a purple color and aura that surrounded her body, along with her teeth all beocming super sharp. But despite this, when the pain had ended and we saw that the world had been broken into 7 pieces, I saw none of us were going insane... we were just completely winded.
"HOHOHO! It's just as the Gaia Manuscripts foretold! Now all I need to do is harness the energy of Dark Gaia and Eggmanland will finally come to be!" Eggman smirked widely as I then looked at him with seriousness.
"You're a... super laser piss... Egg sandwich..." I growled, him frowning at me.
"Interesting looks for you all. Festive! So long, cheater and friends!" he smirked as he then opened the airlock and I then gasped as I felt us get sucked out into space and down to earth, me needing to use the powers of the Blue Ring in order to protect my air supply in a bubble of pure liquid. But regardless, us as well as the 7 gray Chaos Emeralds were sent plummeting towards the planet, me needing to protect them with some of my rings' powers so they didn't burn up in the atmosphere, mainly using the green ring to force fake wind to slow our descent, but only when out of Eggman's line of sight! And then, after roughly 10 minutes of this, I finally gave one final push to prevent us from landing flat as pancakes, us then picking ourselves up.
"Oogh... that was the worst pain I've felt... in almost a century," Cosmo groaned, me then seeing that Sonic and Amy looked at me with angry eyes.
"What have you been lying about, Cheryl? And to me of all people!" Amy said in anger, me sighing in annoyance. I sure had a lot to explain... But because of the emeralds being kaput, I had to resort to the ring of dreams, the yellow one, to give them knowledge. I shared examples of me in my timeline into their thoughts, playing the games that made the basis for our adventures thus far, including the intro to this one. And when I did, they looked at me in shock.
"You... you mean-" Sonic was about to say before I hushed him.
"Eggman already heard enough. Just think what you want to say for now and I'll listen in and explain without voices," I said, them then nodding... but Cosmo did notice a certain little guy that was on the ground.
"Huh? Who is this? He looks a bit conked out," Cosmo said as I then smiled.
"Try to wake him up," I said as I then saw that their first question was the same.
"You mean that you've known everything that's happened so far, because back in your timeline, it was a game series? And centered on Sonic?"
I then responded by saying yes via a nodding head and then showing some more involving the dreams ring. "I didn't want to risk saying anything out in the open, since I doubt anyone would've believed me... but now I know that was even too risky, since Eggman listened into me explaining the full story to Cosmo before the wedding ceremony, most likely by bugging my place. So from now on, when I explain the full truth, I'm doing so with my secret rings and nothing else, as Eggman can't possibly see my thoughts that deeply," I said, them nodding at me.
"Fine. But why keep it secret for so long in the first place?" Sonic asked with his mouth, me frowning.
"I think I know why. Because she didn't think we'd believe her... hell, I almost don't want to believe her... but keep in mind, I am somewhat of a psychic, so I know she's truthful," Amy said, me smirking at that.
"You mean the tarot cards? Or your methods of knowing where your lover is at all times?" I asked, her smirking.
"Both," she smiled... and it was then that Cosmo had managed to wake up the little fairy chinchilla, him looking at me and our group before then struggling free and hiding behind a rock.
"D-Don't eat me! I taste bad!" he said in fear, me frowning at him.
"Uh... sorry if we look scary to you, mister... um... we're nice, we promise. We'd never harm a fly if they haven't done anything wrong," I said, the little Chip then coming out of hiding and looking at us again.
"You promise?" he asked, Amy smirking.
"If we wanted to hurt you, we could've done so for the past 5 minutes while you were unconscious," Amy said, him then reluctantly coming out of hiding as I then looked at him and the others.
"So... what's your name?" Sonic asked.
"Huh?... W-Whaaa! I can't remember!" he said in shock, that making me look at him in seriousness.
"Well... would you like to remember?" I asked, that making the others in my group look at me in confusion.
"You mean you know?" Amy asked.
"You do? Please tell me!" he said, me nodding. Maybe it'd make things easier?
"Your name is Light Gaia... you're the lighter side of Dark Gaia, the force that Eggman wanted to control. That's why he used the Chaos Emeralds to break the world into 7 parts. To release Dark Gaia from the planet's core," I said, that making Cosmo gawk.
"D-D-Dark Gaia... My planet had a force called that as well... in fact, every planet has a Dark and Light Gaia... but they can only emerge from their slumber once every 30 thousand years. So Eggman released them from their slumber too early, which is probably why Light Gaia can't remember anything... but what about Dark Gaia?" Cosmo asked.
"If I'm right and this part hasn't been tampered with..." I said as I then used the powers of the aqua ring of pleasure, which allowed me to get 6th sense and see all over the planet. And when I did, I saw that the entire planet was split apart, as expected, and that Dark Gaia had disintegrated, and all of its energy had spread across the globe. "As expected, just like in the events, Dark Gaia's premature awakening caused its essence to scatter all over the globe. We need to find out how to put the entire planet back together before Eggman can harness Dark Gaia's strength. He wishes to use that strength to finally build his demented empire of Eggmanland, and we are not letting that happen!" I said with seriousness.
"Yeah! An Eggman amusement park sounds like an insurance nightmare!" Amy said with a frown. As for Light Gaia?
"I know my name... but I've still got a foggy memory... maybe if we can find out more, then I might be able to get some of my memories and powers back?" he asked, me nodding.
"Indeed, that's what I was thinking," I said as I also noted that the sun was just starting to rise over the horizon. And when it did? We all then immediately lost our darker forms and returned to normal.
"Aww! My dress got expanded when I was in that dark state... now I need to get a new one! Stupid Eggman and his stupid world destroying laser!" Amy grumbled.
"Maybe we can find something in a nearby town?" I asked, her nodding as we then proceeded down the path towards Apatos, the locale of the famous chocolate chip sundae supreme and the best opening level in all of the 3rd era of Sonic, Windmill Isle.
