After hearing Dipper's declaration William laughed, a cruel mocking sound that conveyed just how little he considered Dipper to be a threat.
"And just what do you think you can do to me?" William asked amused, grinning in a manner to show off all of Monty's sharp teeth. "This vessel is strong and any rescue attempt would only result in Michael's injury rather than my own as I'm not tied to this vessel. And after all the time and effort it would take to completely destroy it beyond any use for me, you and Michael would be sitting ducks for any of my other underlings to finally bring you to me. If you even survived that is. So why risk it? This is a family matter, one of which you aren't a part of. No matter how much you claim otherwise."
"I warned you," Dipper replied simply before he began glowing brightly with power. "Obsurbo!"
Suddenly the world was completely silent to Mike as if someone had hit mute on reality. Mike knew it must have been Dipper's spell that was responsible and it became obvious why his brother had done that when Chica opened her beak, no doubt letting out what was probably a deafening screech. Thanks to the spell, Mike was immune to the sonic attack while Monty wasn't. The alligator began twitching as the sound overload his sensory systems and, more importantly, loosened his grip on Mike.
Mike knew better than to waste this opportunity and immediately yanked his arms out of Monty's grip, using them to pry his way out of Monty's hold completely. He dove towards the floor of the catwalk, rolling under Monty's sloppy attempt to grab him, and coming up running, skidding to a stop next to Dipper. Mike could see Dipper's lips move and suddenly his hearing was restored.
"Thanks for the save," Mike commented as he into a defensive stance beside Dipper, knowing this battle was far from over. Dipper didn't have a chance to respond as Monty recovered and let out an angry roar.
"YOU'RE NOT GETTING AWAY!" William snarled, sprinting towards the group.
"Obice!" Dipper shouted, a shimmering shield begging to form between them and the raging animatronic.
Unfortunately, Monty was stronger and faster than Dipper was expecting and the gator smashed through the still-forming barrier, causing the spell to violently collapse. The blowback from the spell knocked Dipper flat on his back, causing him to lose his magnet gun and sending it skidding further along the catwalks. Mike barely managed to pull his daze brother out of the way of the rampaging animatronic and further down the branching catwalk. Chica stood her ground and attempted to use her Sonic attack once more, but Monty's hand clamped around her head and held her jaw shut.
"Can't have any more of that you stupid machine," William growled, holding tightly enough that the casing on Chica's face began to crack. "So why don't I get rid of you before you become a nuisance."
Monty easily lifted the struggling chicken animatronic and held her over the side of the catwalk, dropping her to let her smash on the floor far below.
"Chica!" Mike shouted in fear, knowing a drop from this height would most likely completely destroy her. He immediately sent out his wires to catch her, barely grabbing onto her as his wires reached their limit. Mike grunted as the weight of the chicken animatronic strained against his wires, gripping the railing hard enough it was starting to creak under the pressure. While he may have been able to grab her, he didn't have the strength to pull her up and it was taking everything he had not to be pulled down with her.
"Tenere!" Mike heard his brother shout. Looking over his shoulder, he could see Dipper's glove glowing brightly as a thin sheet of magic seemed to wrap around Monty.
For a moment, the animatronic froze in place, but then Monty's eyes glowed an even brighter magenta and slowly began struggling against the spell. Dipper gritted his teeth and his eyes glowed even brighter, but Mike could tell it was only a matter of time before Monty overcame the spell completely. Glancing down at Chica, he locked eyes with her and did his best to convey his silent apology. Chica gave him a small nod in understanding and at the same moment, they let go of each other.
A second later, Monty overcame the spell completely, ramming into Dipper and sending the man flying back where he crashed into the railing of another branching catwalk, barely keeping himself from being sent over it. Monty then turned to grab Mike, but Mike let himself tip backward over the railing to escape the gator's grasp. Using his wires, Mike swung under the bottom of the catwalk and came up the other side, delivering a powerful kick to the animatronics' head.
CRACK
The force of Mike's kick made several cracks appear on Monty's face plating as well as knocking off his glasses and a few teeth, sending them flying down into the darkness below. Mike used his momentum to flip to the other side of the gator animatronic, allowing his hand to transform as he did so. As so as his feet touched the ground, he launched himself at Monty, electricity crackling as Mike went to shock the animatronic. Monty reacted fast though and grabbed Mike's arm, keeping the electrified hand from touching him.
"I told you I would rip off your animatronic limbs if you tried anything," William said cruelly, using his other hand to brace Mike's shoulder as he began to pull.
Now Mike didn't have much feeling in his animatronic limbs, something he often used to his advantage along with their greater durability to absorb hits during any fights he got into on his various adventures with his family, but he wasn't completely devoid of feeling in them either. He had a few sensory programs wired in to help him keep himself from accidentally causing them harm and the supernatural nature of the remnant helped him feel his metal limbs as a part of himself than would happen otherwise. So as Monty began to pull, making the metal creak in protest and causing a few wires to snap, Mike did shout in pain as error messages and warnings flashed across his vision.
Suddenly the hand wrapped around Mike's arm went limp and Mike was able to yank free, cradling his barely functioning arm as he stumbled back. Looking up to see what had caused his freedom, Mike saw Dipper crouched on Monty's back, a knife sunk between the plates of Monty's shoulder and causing that limb to hang uselessly.
"Not so fun when someone else takes the use of your limbs is it," Dipper growled, pulling out the knife and aiming for the other shoulder. William acted first though and rolled forward, intending to flatten that man with his heavy animatronic body.
"DIPPER!" Mike shouted in worry and fear, immediately using his wires to pull his brother out of harm's way before his brother could be crushed. Monty was on them before they regroup from this latest brushed of death, pinning Mike down with one of his feet and holding Dipper's throat with his remaining functioning arm.
"I've had enough of this useless struggle," William glared down at Mike, pressing down hard enough that even Mike's reinforced ribs cracked and made the man gasp in pain. William then turned his gaze on Dipper adding, "And I've had enough of your interference. It's time I remove you permanently."
Monty began squeezing his hand, making Dipper scramble at the hand as his throat was slowly being crushed. Mike glanced around furiously for some sort of a solution as using the amount of electricity needed to stun Monty would severely hurt his brother trapped in the animatronics grip, possibly killing him. A metallic glimmer from the corner of his eye promised salvation in the form of Dipper's magnet gun just within his reach. Mike wasted no time in grabbing and adjusting the settings as high as they could go. A blast at full power at this close range would completely scramble the gator's systems and would completely erase the honest Monty.
But an animatronic would never be worth the life of his brother.
"HEY, YOU GHOSTLY PARASITE!" Gregory shouted just as Mike was about to pull the trigger, starling all the combatants and drawing their gaze, though Dipper was barely conscious of what was happening. Turning to the source of the voice, they saw Roxy running at them at full speed with Gregory clinging to her back, some sort of device in his hand. Mike recognized it and immediately shut his eyes, understanding what the kid was planning to do.
"Say Cheese!" Gregory smirked, holding up his Fazcam and pressing the button. Even with his eyes closed, Mike could see the bright flash and felt the moment Monty's systems were stunned by the sudden change in light. Monty's grip loosened enough that Dipper was able to pry free, dropping to the ground as he desperately sucked in oxygen down his bruised throat. Roxy came barreling into Monty a moment later, knocking the gator off Mike and away from the two adult humans.
"You guys alright?" Gregory asked in worry, having jumped off Roxy right before she made contact with Monty.
"I'm fine," Mike wheezed, forcing himself to his feet despite his injuries. "Dipper?"
Dipper couldn't say anything as he was too busy coughing and gasping, but he flashed thumbs up. That was all the assurance Mike needed to throw himself back into the fray. Roxy had managed to keep Monty fairly busy, but his strength meant that he was able to eventually through her off him. But as he did so, it allowed Mike to slam the animatronic with all the power he could muster.
Monty roared in pain as electricity danced through his systems, his eyes dimming as William fled the pain. When Mike finally stopped the assault, Monty slumped over with a thud as sparks and even a little smoke emitted from his twitching limbs. Roxy and Mike wasted no time, the wolf animatronic holding the gator down while Mike quickly and efficiently pressed all the hidden buttons keeping Monty's power switch hidden. Only once the switch was flipped did he allow himself to relax.
"We did it," Mike breathed in relief, glad that this tough fight was finally over.
