Romeo and Juliet of Dragon City Chapter 8

Artha and Nafisa don't waste any time marveling at this newfound wonder. They're very pressed for time.

Using their combined Mag energy the two Dragons blast their way out of the building.

Artha and Nafisa ride out from the wreckage on their Dragons backs. Nafisa grins as she watches Artha releasing an jubilated cry on Beau's back. This is his very first time riding a Dragon in his life and definitely getting a kick out of the experience. She's pleased for him given he's always expressed his extreme dislike and resentment towards the species. So despite the circumstances of their situation she's happy with that alone.

To their combined immense relief Lance has made it outside and is waiting for them.

Lance's eyes are the size of dinner plates the moment he spots Artha on Beau's back.

In shocked disbelief, Lance exclaims "Beau chose you."

Mind still blown over what went on in the upper level, nodding, Artha stammered "Well, yeah, I uh…"

None of them are given time to celebrate this revelation.

Moonbeam snaps her head forward, a threatening growl rumbling low in her throat.

Voices could be heard rapidly approaching from around the corner. Moordryd, Cain, and Rancid are closing the distance fast. The Penn family has to escape now or else they'll be caught. Moordryd may be able to prevent any harm from being inflicted on her since he's the head of the Dragon Eye Crew, but there's absolutely no chance of that for Artha and Lance. Not without giving away their relationship.

Artha tugs Lance onto Beau's back in order to ride double. Lances own Dragon Fraction is safe for the time being. The fire didn't reach the stables and the Dragon Eye Crew holds no interest in him. They can return for him later on.

"Follow me," said Nafisa, leading the charge.

"Where are we go," said Lance, cutting off with a scream as they skid to a stop at the edge of their property thousands of feet up.

The Dragons lower their riders onto a hidden ledge by the tails. Moonbeam joins them leaving Beau alone.

"I've found him," yells Moordryd.

Moordryd arrives on scene first. Moordryd is about to launch another batch of Green Trapping Gear when Beau took action. Raising his head Beau glimpses the Penn Stables sign barely being held up with the broken beams sustaining it. He thought up a plan.

Beau slams his tail hard into the side of the building. This creates unstable ground enough where the sign tips all the way off the hinges. Moordryd covers his head as the sign collapses in front of him and his Dragon Decepshun. Thus a barricade between Moordryd and the Penns is formed. This won't stall for long.

Moordryd rams into the sign to the other side. Just in the nick of time to see Beau's tail crawling over the side.

"What," said Moordryd, eyes wide.

The Dragons now have their riders back on.

"No way out," said Artha, turning his way this way and that trying to find a safe exit, but finding none. "No way out."

"What about that building," said Lance, pointing at a building across the way.

One problem that distance makes it impossible.

Or is it?

"It's too far," said Artha.

"No, it's not," said Nafisa, shaking her head.

"Come on, Nafisa. There's no way the Dragons can make that jump," said Artha.

"That's what you think. Remember what Dad told you. The Dragon is just like the great power within you. Release the Dragon," reminds Nafisa, wisely.

She needs to demonstrate and set the example for him to follow.

Nafisa urges Moonbeam forward. As she has been taught Nafisa taps deep within to the deep connection she has with her partner. Their souls become one, power mixing together. As result Moonbeams speed increases drastically. More than enough to where they reach the speed to make a successful leap proving Artha wrong. Nafisa remains perfectly calm transferring this aura to her Dragon allowing for a safe and smooth landing on the roof. Beau is quick to follow whether her brothers wanted to or not. Luckily Artha listened to his sister's advice and released the dragon inside him. Their landing is shakier than hers was, but they are alive. That's what counts.

Jubilated, Artha said "We made it!"

"Speak for yourself," said Lance, groused out.

Lance landed in a garbage can. A full one.

The Dragon Eye Crew didn't follow. Their Dragons can't jump that far as Cain is obligated to remind Moordryd as he went to try.

Moordryd will have to return to his father empty handed in this venture. Both a huge win and loss in more ways than one especially where it comes to Nafisa.

They're going to have a serious talk. This night didn't at all go as planned. Moordryd initially wanted this to be settled quietly to avoid conflict. Rancid and Cain had set the explosion before he could stop them. Thanks to them the damage may be beyond repair.

Moordryd has to find Nafisa and do it quick.

Hope you guys all liked this one! I certainly did while writing it for your infinite and tremendous enjoyment! ;D

Nafisa won't tell her brothers she's pregnant yet until a hell of a lot later. Basically she's going to be one of those pregnant mothers that barely shows until like the last 7-9 months. Do you think she should race for a little while to keep up pretenses or not? If not then feel free to share suggestions on what her excuse to them would be. I'm open to them.

Also, I don't know about the rest of you, but I saw the new movie Avengers Endgame on the big premiere night! Oh man, I couldn't believe it. I am so happy they didn't cut anything, actually make and keeping the three hours running time. There was so much going on that it probably would've ruined it if they did that.

I need your shared opinions.

In light of Avengers Endgame, in preference to my Rise Of The Snow Queen series, what do you all think of a one-shot or flashback chapter for in between where Loki is with Thanos before he heads to Earth?

Here's the idea I'm trying to get at maybe Loki catches a glimpse of his sister on Jotunheim. Because in Rise Of The Snow Queen 2 he makes it very clear that he already knows she's a Queen. So maybe that can be very suitable this time around for our girl.

So, what do all of you hardcore Avengers fans think?

Should I do it?
