D3: The Mighty Ducks Re-Imagined
Warnings: This is going to be a re-imagining of D3: the Mighty Ducks as Charlie meets Orion at the start of the summer, as their lives are fused together. As they prepare for what their future brings now, and as Charlie learns the truth. And this soon, that Orion is his real father and he has a life outside of the team.
This is also going to leave out the tv show, so an alternate reality story. But the other clip to this is going to show a few situations of Orion's coming into the picture, just before Charlie chose him as their back up coach.
Disclaimers: The Mighty Ducks don't belong to me, the story belongs to me, everything else belongs to the disney company.
Chapter 1: The Revelations And Coach Orion
The Trial And the Final Decision-Orion's POV:
"Well even without Bombay here, I didn't think you could pull it off twice, Ducks." the judge said smiling and they nodded. "We know we're surprised ourselves, but my adoptive father, as I'm starting to see Coach Orion, is a great teacher. He's enhanced Coach Bombay's training, and we won our first true championship on a real win, rather than a penalty shot. But the schedule is working great right now, after school schedule, practice, study and then home, in that order."
"We're happy, we get to see him everyday now." Charlie said and he nodded smiling then. "As I understand, you, in particular, have been leading the charge in fundraisers right now. And raised 3/4's of a million for charity, at the children's hospital, you saved Karen Orion. From falling through the ice, you prevented a car accident and saved those kids right now. All those things have shown how much your district has changed now." he said and Charlie nodded gently then.
"Yes Sir, after we won that game, last season championship, I decided I wanted more, I'm like the narrator and Patrick's character. I'm not living in a slightly lousy portion of the city all my life, though we're cleaning up the area now. Although Peter and Karp are content, but the way they're going, they're facing becoming Jennings now." he said and the judge nodded sternly. "Well that I understand and you're well on your way out, if you keep up this path now, son."
"As for getting a secondary lawyer with your coach missing right now, I assume this is…" he started to say. "Not at all, after said situation with the guy that prosecuted the case just before we met now, when you assigned him to us. He deliberately handpicked him and sent him the files necessary to have the Hawks powerhouse, as they are currently. Being tried for attempted murder on two counts, and a legal deal we made last spring." he said and the said man nodded.
"No, not in that way your honor, he gave me the necessary paperwork to catch them in the act of attempted illegal activities here now. But this is legal and above board right now, no legal shortcuts, he. I, am not a Hawk, but I we're a Duck and this is being played as the way we both know all legal. And for the parties concerned, but I am the counsel for the Ducks, my clients here now, are pressing charges for attempted murder and the hospitalization of their kids here."
"In the Orion/Conway clan and Banks clan, but they, that's the Hawks, destroyed the ice on the lake, his sister can't swim, she's a paraplegic." Banks's attorney sternly then said and the judge nodded in shocked fury at that as he grabbed the file he had on that. "What happened here is directly after Adam scored the shot, we realized they knocked him unconscious. He barely broke his collarbone after slamming into the goal that hard right now."
"The goalie of the Hawk may have called for a whiplash, but that's nothing when next to attempted murder." he said and he nodded. "Just like assault and battery is nothing next to attempted murder right now. Or real, so these brats are trying to claim, you gave him a whiplash when Reed did his shapshot. But they broke barely his collarbone before they barely killed Charlie by drowning him in freezing water." The jury leader said sternly and he nodded.
"Charlie risked his life to save his sister and barely misses drowning and they resuscitated him, but it was close, any closer and he would be dead right now. But and I quote this from Phil's opinion they try anything else here, they're being sued for every dime right now. Phil was thankful that Charlie lead the charge to save his sister, in extending a hand in friendship. In the 9 months since, this is them together now." he told him, passing him a picture of the duo then.
Charlie and Adam with their arms across each other's shoulders smiling, before showing him a picture of the team on a field-trip to see a North Stars game, and the team dressed in matching sweats and he nodded. "Nice touch here with giving me the facts young man before the proceedings take place, but this starts twice in 4 years and they try to revoke it it. The it your scholarships, as you tell me in further damage they did this time, I will still find in favor of you."
"Sore losers are we gentlemen, when the deal was a fair and square bet?" the judge asked, crossing his arms and the Hawks and current JV team paled. Now realizing he saw through their desperation immediately. "That's right, I see the attempt immediately, but as Gordon Bombay would say, I usually defend heels like you, you scuzzy, mole faced rat." The prosecutor said in shocked disgust at the reveal and Coach Gordon Bombay's counterpart nodded sternly to that.
"This is Bombay's words too, 'I explained that to my driver Eric Jenkins, before we got the definition to the danger in Fulton's slapshot, after breaking two windows on my car. And a demo and before the cardinals game between us at the time right now. But after this season comes to an end, I leave my team in the capable hands of my co-coach, Ted Orion. Till I come home now, Ted's the adoptive father of our current captain of the team, Charlie Conway now in truth.'."
"'But here or not, the kids are my team, if they need me and I will come back, if they need me after starting high school." he read out and the judge nodded as he saw a gentle change in the younger man. "So there is no need to find them a replacement ever again, Conway did it for you now?" he asked as he checked the joint custody arrangement papers and he nodded. "Indeed he did, your honor, my best friend is their new coach, he decided if I leave he takes over."
"Fortunately the more immediate problem us adults would be worried about is now null and void by bringing him together with his real father and this young right now." he said and he felt a jolt of relief go through him. "Bad side effect if you have no either parent and grow attached to your coach when a preteen either boy or girl. That parental abandonment is a dangerous thing at this age and fortunately that got forestalled now."
"In truth right now in truth, so though you leave, he has Ted with him full time, nice thinking son." the judge said gently and he nodded. "And that's enough to get our rejected ducks nailed to the wall as the change in personality. That is enough to scare the six of us out of our wits, if we never realized we found him sooner right now." Averman said and he nodded sternly to his remark at that as he sat down with his arms crossed.
"Alpha's third son?" he asked and Averman nodded. "Charlie's the alpha, Jesse, Adam and I are his bodyguards and Connie his omega. But we just had the life scared out of us after these guys Beat the heck out of Adam, before trying to follow him up with Charlie, last season, if he hadn't been wearing his helmet, it's Anderson's hockey episode in season 3. His teenage counterpart and the guy he put in the hospital right now." he said and they all nodded in shock to that.
"It was close, your Honor, if he hadn't been wearing his helmet right now, but that explains the need for X-rays, check for brain damage." he said and the judge nodded in fury at that news. "No matter how much they try I will never stop, till they are behind bars, your honor, they are desperate to hang onto their tuition money now. That is so desperate they are all going to brute force here, and attempted murder." he said and the jury nodded sternly as he went on."
"Your honor, the deal was made fairly here, and the bet was we win and the Hawks lose one year off 5, they win they keep it, but in addition to them landing Adam Banks. In the hospital they barely kill my son, Gordon's godson, in destroying the ice at the lake." Orion said and he nodded sternly. "They tried to kill Conway?" he said sternly and he nodded. "They knew his sister was a paraplegic, knowing he would risk his life to protect her right now."
"This was sadistic cold blooded attempted murder to get themselves out of said bet, as the closer we came to that championship. The more desperate their team came, and after here, they put Banks out of the game and got rough with Tamara Duncan. And hard enough this was why Fulton Reed let him have it last year, but these guys scared my team. Out of their wits, my son suffered exposure and a near case of blood poisoning here now from that dunk in the lake."
"But in addition to the money that was owed to the Banks's medical fund, as the cost for it is $18,000 less then the treatments. I also call medical charges for my son, in fines of $15,000 for medical bills. And here for him and his sister now, so they owe $ 175,000 in total here now." he said and he nodded sternly. "I understand your team, your clients, all risked losing their apartments for Winifred Banks?" he asked and Orion nodded gently at the remark then firmly.
"Indeed they did, and asked for an extension, their landlords all gave them 90 days extension, but their parents are all still working over time. To make up that amount right now for next month and combined with April's amount, last season right now." he said and the judge nodded gently. "Charlie is spending his afternoons with me his adoptive father, for the previous 6 months, till the fee was paid off right now." he said and they nodded as they looked at him.
"So his mother was working till.." he asked and she sighed. "Till 7:30p.m., for 2 months now, so he's, after school, with his father and their driver after practice right now." she said and he nodded. "It was the same for us, in truth here, that we were all working to 2 hours after the normal day ends, but for Winny it's all worth it right now." Hall said to him and he nodded. "But we're all ticked that these guys barely killed him in addition to his sister now, this past winter."
"In total in addition to the Banks's, is my family right now, I can't afford the medical bills with my job, after I spent 2 months paying back my landlord. So when they put our sons and my stepdaughter in the hospital and I want justice, they could have killed all 3 of them right now. He barely drowned in that lake, a laceration that barely got infected here right now and Charlie's sister's a paraplegic, she can't swim in normal fresh water." she said and they nodded sternly.
"My brother told me he found the fuse of a cherry bomb on the lake, and since my son and his friends don't carry cherry bombs or other explosives with them. I have reason to believe that the Hawks went to desperate measures to get out of this bet right now. To save themselves a total of, together, $144,000 here, the amount was meant. Now, to be their first year tuitions now, but they knew here now, my son is the leader here."
"And of the team, but he and Adam are the best players on the team in training by his father, that every time we won a game. They got more and more desperate till they crossed the line finally by attempted murder now." she said and he nodded sternly. "This is actually mimicking a preteen version to Gordon's counterpart's movie, when he was 21 here right now here. But they gone too far this time in the bullying and crossed the line between sadistic now."
"To downright murderous at the current moment and because my son in truth, got them to say the words, that they are not jeopardizing their lives. At the academy, for the life a baby with her whole to live." Orion said and he nodded sternly. "Estevez is your Coach's double when he was 21, so the fact your adoptive son is really a preteen version to the narrator. He's risked a fatal injury again and again to do the right thing here right now, proving your team is as you said."
"Now as your team ejected Marks and Karp from it, they're everything that your moniker at your old firm is here: giving back to the community." he said and Orion nodded sternly to him then as he said it then. "Yes, but we were never interested in the trophy, the even bigger win here was saving not just her now in truth. But the added fundraiser that goes into the other kids just like her now or worse condition then her right now, to us in truth here now."
"The even bigger now is that showing someone is willing to be their hero and we became that hero now, by showing we cared enough to raise money. For them and for the Banks's, but when the Hawks first refused to give up their first year tuitions. And following that is destroy the ice on the lake with my godson and his sister on it. And then followed that up by putting a hit on Adam himself and got rough enough to put a girl."
"Now, in the hospital, this says they are Socs, the cold blooded little brats that my double hated as his character in the movie version to the book. You read that book, but the friend of the brat that took things too far, knew the narrator was too emotionally. In truth, wracked up to know that he was making things worse right now in truth here. Well that's this now, they basically said by not passing that year up, she is not worth it now."
"She is not worth losing 1 year off the 5, one year in exchange for a few dozen in the life of a child, a baby with her whole life to live. It's not worth it in their eyes, but that did it." he said and the judge nodded in stern disgust as he answered him. "But I see no reason to pursue their case as we won fairly here now as he said it then. Do you understand that this is clearly a fair and square deal right now, but if my double's parents in truth."
"As his character's mother took legal actions and decided here now to sue their kind for murder and attempted murder, then they'd be in jail. They were adults, this is a 14 to 16 year old child, they tried to kill out of being drunk and crazy jealousy. Well this is the same damn thing, they never dunked his head in the water right now. But same difference, they tried to kill him and his sister, out of anger right now in truth here then."
"That and desperation, I wouldn't be surprised if their older brothers are letting them drink and they're drunk on anger and desperation. And to the point they tried to kill three children, babies with their whole lives to live." he said and the jury nodded as they went to a whispered conversation then and he said it. "So this was a gamble and they gambled their tuitions on winning this game, and instead you do?" he asked and Gordon nodded.
"Yeah that's right, it was either showing charity, and when they refused that was when the bet was made, we win, their first year tuition. Which is their 8th grade tuition, go to the Banks medical fund and they start a year into my son's time. At the academy, as I become the Ducks head coach now, they win they keep it right now. And they start at the same time, my son and his team does, but we won fair and square here now."
"So why is anyone complaining right now, I mean this was a gamble, but they bet high and threw every dollar into that gamble we bet low, and bluffed high. They could have called off the bet, but no, they didn't, and now we play and they lose." Orion said gently and he nodded as Dean Derek Buckley crossed his arms. "Your honor, they only decided to sue us to over turn that gamble, they know the dangers of Fulton's shot, everyone in town does."
"And anyone with the common sense of knowing what happens if you get hit by it immediately gets out of the way, but the Goalie never did. And gets knocked in there with the puck, that's not our fault right now, they knew. They knew and he still didn't move, this was a way to over turn that decision, right now. The gamble was fair, we win, they lose 1 year off 5, they win they keep it, so call it as you see ladies and gentlemen."
"But is 1 year off 5 worth the life of a child, a baby with her whole to live right now in all truth, that money can save her life and by not giving it up. They say baby is not worth losing one year off, which is like Cade and giving his life. To save those children, me my sister." Charlie said gently and that did it then. "I know I got a lot of friends, but what if that killed me, in time my sister would come to understand this right now in truth."
"But she would never stop hating the trio that did this to me, she, those kids I saved from that car, Winny, she's worth it now, they are babies with their whole lives to live. Their lives are worth more then mine, they have a lot to live for, they're entirely worth the injuries, but are those lives expendable to get into the academy?" he asked and the jury crossed their arms sternly and the judge said it with a stern growl at that question.
"To us, no they are not, they are not expendable at all, those are babies with their while lives to live, but I see you as the bravest young man I ever met. But these kids are considering trying to sue you for a whiplash, I see that as nothing next to what they did to you." He said and the Hawks went pale then. "Well see no reason to why this case is even being called into question, Counselor Redford, in truth here, this was legal, as the Ducks won the bet fair and square."
"When you gamble young man, then at times you lose and they did, but if they are trying to pull back on that deal, they are being sore losers right now. Trying to over turn that decision, it screams bad sport and sore losers, so no, we find in favor of you. The jury finds in favor of the Ducks, in addition to the amount they were playing for. There will be an additional $33,000 added to it for the Banks and Conway/Orion clans for the level of injuries done."
"So my figure is, after they attacked Adam Banks that viciously in the game as well last year, there will be $16,500, each, going to the Banks and Orion/Conway clans now." A member of the jury said to the others then and they nodded. "Sore losers, the deal was fare Eric, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and they lost." a member said and the jury leader nodded in stern agreement. "Yes, we find in favor of the Ducks." a third said and he nodded as he stood up then.
"And with that, if they try to re-open this case in four years the reminder of we remember this as being a sore loser here. As the Ducks under leadership by either Coach Bombay or Coach Orion with him busy, played by the rules, but at times. When you gamble, you lose in a gamble, but money will not keep you out of trouble no matter how rich you are. But there's the catch that no matter who you're connected to or how good you are, if you don't have an education."
"Then you have no way to make it in life, keep that in mind the next time you get desperate enough to try and kill someone to save your careers, gentlemen. But you gambled your first year of your future on that game, you lost the game now. And now you have to pay up right now, but it's not Reed's fault right now. In truth your goalie now in truth doesn't have sense. As he didn't get out of the way fast enough, we all know the dangers of that slap shot right now."
"If that was a set up to sue the Ducks, it's a very cheap one, but our decision is final, you owe them $195,000 for the medical bills and the bet is set in stone. So the finding of this jury is final." the leader of the jury said sternly and the judge nodded sternly. "Then so be it, the court finds in favor of the Ducks, you will pay them $195,000, case closed." he said sternly to that news and the Hawks all stood up in shock at that as Jackson Riley started to say it.
"Gentlemen I do not want to hear it, you lost the bet, they won the game, so you lose 1 year off 5, so that's it. But I'm warning you, keep trying anymore sadistic stunts, and it's you winding up in jail, after Orion/Conway risked his neck. Just to save his sister right now, but that action changed my thoughts in their team and those are good kids. They are really good kids, but I was shown the tape saying you thought Banks's sister."
"Now was not worth losing a year off your time at the academy." he said and they went white. "We never meant it right now!" Riley said shaking then and he crossed his arms sternly. "How do you expect me to believe that right now young man, Orion/Conway was right, we once never saw passed appearance, Conway showed the attitude I want. In only a week he topped your amount, saves his sister and then risks a close call now."
"With a blasted car protecting a group of kindergartners running out in front of a damn car one day at the time, that boy. He shows more heart and virtue then anyone of the lower middle class I ever seen right now in truth here. But then this is why Bombay said he was the heart and soul of his team, desire to do good even at the risk. And of his own life right now, that boy showed it clearly to me, they are willing to change here."
"We got a few troublemakers in their kind, but never mind that, this team is the type I see are the very virtue of their district. Showing the true heart and soul of their kind, but he gave you a fair chance to show us you are willing to change. And gave you a chance to show you do care and do you take it, no and it's because it's your future. Your future weighed against the life of baby with her whole to live." he said and they swallowed hard.
"So there is no use trying to bring this back to court or change our findings now and just so you know there is no use trying other state judges. They'll all throw out the case once they hear this was made on a bet that was a fair and square win. The Ducks won the bet, so you face up to it and stop acting like a spoiled brat throwing a temper tantrum." he said slamming his gavel on the stand to end it then and they felt their hearts shatter.
As Charlie wrapped an arm across Adam's shoulders and Jesse across his back and he smiled at his best friends on their team. "Thanks again guys, I owe you big man, we pulled it off and my sister is going to be fine now, and because of you guys." he said and Charlie smiled. "A brother man, you're our brother a member of the gang, we take care of each other now." Averman said gently to him and he smiled then as he looked at him.
"We'll see each other again, I guarantee that, Riley, as for your brother and his friends, aside from Scooter. They start getting rough with Adam and so help me god, we're back to this again, keep your hands off him. And stay away from the girls, or the next time we're in a hearing it's because you're still beyond humiliated. That we humiliated you in public, but you hurt one of us, you got the entire flock on your heads starting now."
"See you next season, and good luck right now, you're going to need it, starting now, because Dad's the head coach till if and when Coach Bombay comes back." Charlie said sternly and they swallowed hard at that as Connie wrapped her arms around his gently. "Let's go guys, the Hawks die and time for the Ducks to fly now." he said and the team noded as they ended the conversation at that remark as they left then firmly.
"Cubs come on time to go now, Phil, you handle the legal agreements right now, you're a defense attorney, I got the kids for now." Orion said and they nodded as he ran his hand through his hair gently as he looked at his 11 year old son, it had been a few months. And they were now like any other father/son duo. "Hey kids, so you're the Ducks huh, nice to meet you, I'm Dean Buckley, Dean of Eden Hall Academy." he said gently and they all noddd smiling then.
"Nice to met you Dean, I'm Charlie Orion/Conway, this is Adam Banks, Tamny and Tommy Duncan, Jesse And Terry Hall, Connie Monroe, Guy Tremaine. Lester Averman, Greg Goldberg and Fulton Reed, the new JV team." he said and Buckley and he nodded as Charlie passed him a message then and he opened it and read it. 'Dean, if their brothers are trying to revoke our scholarships next, it's a cross and double.'
'So they may try to put pressure on you, but we're pretending to make them think they can exchange us for their brothers. Before the JV-Varsity showdown, mental edge, bluff high.' he read to himself and nodded as he decided to pretend to side with them. "Just remember that though the board, doesn't mean anything when my brother in law is a cop and my best friend is a lawyer, keep that in mind here."
"But we can pin this attempt to revoke said scholarships as pay back for us winning that game fair and square, and you're a sore loser." he said to the board sternly and they swallowed hard at that. "Issues with the legal agreements, right now, but this is being a sore loser right now by trying to revoke those scholarships. When they never did anything to get them in trouble and secondly their grades are a dead lock here."
"So just who are you trying to kid right now this is being a sore loser and this is payback for loss of your kids 8th grade tuitions." Monroe said sternly and they swallowed hard at that remark, realizing they didn't have any leverage here at that remark. "This court case was closed right now, 4 years later, they are not going to take this right now. So what happens when we tell them you expelled us and we did nothing to deserve it now."
"Nothing, but get you back for destroying our locker room and leaving us to pay a bill that we don't have the money for?" Charlie said sternly and the judge nodded sternly. "And I am saying this again right now, they tell me that you did this out of spite and you're remembering this and I am not taking it. So try it and I will still find in favor of the Ducks right now, so that's enough of this." he said and the board swallowed hard then.
"Your honor, the team is doubling in size when that happens, but the team is us 11 and our sum number of players when we get in. But dad just took being our head coach, we get our entire 5 years with my father, he's my aim, playing for him." Charlie said and he smiled. "I understand, but I take it Marks and Karp got ejected for something?" he asked and Charlie nodded. "Yeah they're off, permanently." he said and the judge nodded as the trial was concluded.
"Also and I'm putting in an adoption to Conway, I'm a father already, but I want a son." Orion said and the Judge nodded gently. "Did you get the adoption forms requisitioned?" he asked and Orion nodded gently to him. "I did, but, as we never ran a blood test, I think I walked right into my son, though I did. Well then Casey and I are finishing the joint custody arrangements and with him this age, he's got a 6 year old half sister." he said and the judge nodded gently to him.
"Fair enough, and we can make that legal, but if he's really your son, the custody arrangements are permanent with this. But gentlemen, you want a rematch you get it during the '93-'94 game season, clean game, no cheating, you cheat you forfeit that game." he called out and the Hawks nodded, realizing it meant said chance. "But train hard, you're going to need it, as your brothers are close to making Varsity, out of the league, interference non." Orion said to them sternly.
"The deal was legal, we win, they lose a year off 5, they win they keep it and we start at the same time, that's the deal. And the board has no rights, so any who want to see the Ducks in action, before the season of '96 to '97. You can come to the games, parents of non warrior side, as you see your true future J.V. play like pros now." Orion shouted out and they smiled. "I got to see this." their principal's older said smiling and her history counterpart nodded in agreement.
"Well this is one way to drive it home, what the first to second movie tried to convey and lays the punchline, as last year is this coming year, not 2 seasons ago." Casey said and Hall nodded in agreement to her opinion. "No kidding, but while I got a business trip, you're working double time, which explains why we're not in the second movie. And Hans went to see his mother in Norway." he said and Orion nodded in agreement to his opinion then gently at that remark.
"I think they got the message, the movie now shows the truth, as the following movie show things, it being a Saturday. And Gordon just got back, Charlie's working part time at Hans skate and hockey store and the weekend our gig walks in the door. And he's working on a book report, till Gordon calls game practice, and we meet our new sum." he said and the team nodded. "Well back on the fly, but 1993-1994, we have our down is fading." Charlie said to that smiling then.
"Yeah no kidding duckling, the down fading, feathers growing in and you turn white now." he said and he looked at his team, looking forward to the upcoming season now. As the team prepared for what was going to be the busiest season they had then finally here. In knowing the Hawks were desperate and as they prepared for when their original came. And not knowing that their new members included who would their rest of their team at the Eden Hall Academy…..
Winter-Spring 1996/Eden Hall Academy:
After 4 years winning, the Mighty Duck got into Eden Hall academy, as their Coach Gordon Bombay prepared to pass them off to a friend of his. "Please welcome to the podium the head coach and leader of the Mighty Ducks: Gordon Bombay." he said and the crowd started clapping as Coach Gordon Bombay moved forward. 'Alright so Charlie Conway, Jesse Hall, Connie Monroe, Lester Averman, Guy Germaine and Gregory Goldberg. Rest of the team is Jesse's brother.'
'Terry now, Tammy and Tommy Duncan, Adam Banks and Fulton Reed, yes 4 years together, we know each other very well, we can manage this, that's them now.' he thought and nudged his captain's mother's shoulder and she nodded smiling. "What 4 years does to you, that though he loves Gordon, you've been acting like his father ever since he left. He's never been happier with you." she said and he nodded. "Well the sextet might a problem." he said and she nodded then.
'Okay that's the Minneapolis Mighty Ducks, Junior Goodwill Games are Russ Tyler, Julie Gaffney, Luis Mendoza, Dwayne Robertson, Kenny Wu and Dean Portman. That's all 17, yes okay, that's my main group, so where are you, you little brat, they kick you guys off the team. You quit, what exactly right now.' he thought, as knowing them meeting now was erasing said shock, as they got used to his being the coach, and they turned to him that year as they got it together.
'Then again why need that exactly, why need to adjust, we met a couple weeks after the season ended, and grew close. Before a close call rescue, but we met when he was 10, before he saved my daughter, to him, he is my son. I'm his father, and we're beyond close, but my babies, my ducklings, though teenage ducks that grew their wings in. Still my babies, in the 11, I love my babies with everything in me, we'll be fine here.' he thought with fatherly pride then gently.
"Alright guys new training, we're getting used to whoever is training us, but if it's dad, and we're hearing that tone all the time now. But he already gave us the lesson on blue collar hockey, and with it here now. Side panels on the goal, and right behind it, and the score itself, we knew the lessons and we're exercising them now. But if those guys return, and I'm in charge, so no matter what Peter says, my decisions never steer us wrong." he heard from his captain gently.
And the team nodded. "Yeah we been looking forward to this for 3 years, playing for your adoptive father, and our dream came true now. He trained us well, now he's he our final one, no more switching coaches, we had two full ones." he heard from a teenage version to his best friend and he chuckled at that remark. "Yep, and we stick together now, so same as before, but we got high school one, we hear that in parent all the time." his son said gently and he smiled.
'Yeah no kidding buddy, but it's me, you get me now, so there we go, alright guys, Julie, you have to get used to this. But the 11 know and knew me for 3 years, I'm Charlie's adoptive father here.' The J.V. Coach thought gently at that as he heard a smile then. "What you want a bet Coach Orion is it exactly?" he heard from his original Banks's younger brother and he chuckled. "No bet, I don't doubt it is, but we get our entire 5 years with him." he said and they smiled.
"Hold up Gordon, hey Son, just where is Peterson Marks and Dave Karp?" he called out to him and he watched the teenager, now obviously looking like him as the teenager, looked around and his eyes landed on him then. "After they bailed on us during the games, the 11 of us and Coach Bombay threw them off the team, dad, but frankly I was glad they bailed on us. Ever since Connie decided on a fast experiment of seeing how well I do without them here to distract me."
"Worked well actually, but new coach means a TBD, you got it, I can go without it till you, if you're it, decides the timer is up. The Coach, your version is my adoptive father, we met 4 years ago, after said thinning ice incident." he said and they nodded. "These guys are gone huh, what they do this time exactly, if you threw them off the team?" he asked and he crossed his arms. "Wanting to know if Adam was coming, I said yes and they bailed." he said to him then gently.
"Still holding to said lie that they over heard after the fight between Gordon and Reilly, are we?" he asked and his son nodded. "Yep, unfortunately that choice, though worked out well, we had another case of loyalty issues, that resulted in nearly all of us. Now ending up in the P.T. session from heck the night of the Iceland game, but out of state members. Have no idea in who they're messing with, when it comes to you, you trained us in the off season." he said gently to him.
"Oh boy, yeah that could be a problem and like he told you, after it shot through the school like a brushfire, Jared wasn't lying. We hear that it's laps for one month and detention for 5, if he insulted your family honor." a J.V. coach said sternly and Charlie Orion/Conway nodded gently. "I know, it was after he said that, dad said heads were going to roll once he heard the reason. And said riot, but we became unbeatable by September." he said and the faculty nodded gently.
"But practicing in the off season, the scrimmages were between us and the Panthers, Cardinals, Huskies, Jets and Planes now. As we all incorporated our off season training, and everyone, now realizing what dad taught us here. Said was the key to destroying the Hawks, once and for all now, as Coach's remark. Was he and dad can do this better, and even blindfolded right now, point proven when we won 4 championships and the GWG." he said and the school nodded.
"That's why you're so good, you got training from him?!" one of the quintet said in shock. "We never had an assistant coach, till dad filled in that role right now between movie 1. To movie 2, which harbors the question, and till after Les's needing a fast gulp of water. After getting the elbow to the stomach, I told him that my father took us on, we've been at it for 2 years. Prior to his getting back to town now." he said and the leader of the quintet nodded in shock then.
"Frankly I don't know if he is my dad or not, we adopted each other as father and son, before I saved my baby sister from drowning in the lake. But if he is, well I don't need to worry and I'm not changing from how you knew me the last 2 years. Because though Bombay turns us over to him, I'm content, because I'm with my dad." he said and the new black boy on the team smiled. "He's 'the' Coach Ted Orion, as in North Stars #25 Ted Orion." he said and they all nodded then.
"Off season mentor, for 3 years, and now full time Coach, we knew him for 3 years, we hear that tone day in and day out here. So we're used to this, but compared to Bombay, he's a full time teacher and high school hockey Coach, one of the best. Problem is here is that his last team, Jared's team, were refusing to conform and from what they learned. And from our version's peewee coach, our parent's age group's hockey coach, he's dangerous, in all truth here now."
"But hockey coach and teacher, the older we get, the sterner they need to be, so watch it." he said and they nodded. "Guys, I'm not kidding the attitude he will not tolerate, after you destroyed the stool at the time, but rephrase that implication, from two years prior. You leave, or mutiny, you're benched, so think twice, and then think again, before he benches you. Indefinitely." he said and the quintet all paled at that remark then, realizing it finally at that.
"Peter had the tendency to drive away our coaches, and nearly did with Bombay, because he never wanted a fixed schedule. So they can continue to play disgusting and dangerous jokes, after school schedule, practice, study period. And then go home for dinner, in that order now, but in all truth here now, he's the Coach our team needs. But we're growing from ducklings, to teenage Ducks, the older we get, the stricter the coach gets." he said and the leader nodded.
As he swallowed hard, realizing his reaction was enough to get him the riot act now, as their coach nodded. "Indeed, and I suggest you consider that well, after Charlie phoned me, to tell me you picked a fight with that player, after he missed breaking Adam's arm. Before he also told me that you 4 sided with the tanked up hothead, while the 7 were saved from said. By Charlie stepping in, before he could get the words out." he said and the quintet nodded quickly then.
"As for Peterson and David, well they get in trouble one more time, this is the end of the road for they're still acting like ducklings, it's time to grow up now. So you threw them off the team, but with the way things are going, they're facing, to them. The coach of their worst nightmare here, for you, you wanted a coach like me anyway now. Because we actually sound like a parent to you guys now, after they failed it, the first test on Gordon's return here right now in truth."
"Of reporting in for the season, before the season even starts here, while the 11 of you reported in immediately, though I was watching from the bleachers. But you guessed right guys, it's me, you get me now, but wish granted, I'm the last one now, we get your entire 5 years." he said and he nodded and the 10 smiled in delight. "Yeah that's it exactly dad, but they only gotten worse, you know how Peter sees you." he said and the man nodded, crossing his arms sternly.
"Yeah we do baby, and frankly here, it doesn't matter who the coach is, your father or Gordon, that reaction in the first game is juvenile. They used to feel the same way about him they did Gordon, so the only thing that needs to change here is that attitude problem." His mother Casey said sternly and the faculty nodded in stern annoyance. "And that's the you we know, you've never changed, because you always had a constant positive male influence in your life here."
"So with you guys we can expect the way you are with Gordon, in the case of you and your father now, in the 11 of you, only the sextet. Are the ones getting to know him, and soon, same bond with him they have with Gordon, Charlie." the dean said to him then. "Expect trouble Dean, because with us being the true Ducks, 4 years, as they only recently started 2 years ago. I think Russ was watching our mannerisms and started imitating us, but to answer that now."
"Exactly, but my rival, his name Peterson Marks, nickname of Peter now, the guy is a wise guy and J.D., they're close to J.H. now. As for David Karp: said prank is now Halloween pranks with the Easter candy, and you're wasting perfectly good chocolate. And when the syrup itself, as they make it for Halloween though you can make from scratch here, is in short supply. But both together though is you're wasting perfectly good both this way now." he said and they nodded.
"And just how many times can one get lucky, before it happens finally here, and the time it does is when I got you in training, all summer, but you accepted the schedule, enjoy it. And now everything that comes with it, my being an educator." his father said sternly and they nodded. "Yep, and for years I saved their buts, and now the one time it does happen, is the time Les and I are in training, 9 to 3, regular practice, and 3 to 5, skating practice." he said and he nodded.
"Luis is still having trouble with the brakes, and keeps running into things here." he explained and his father nodded. "And your wings just grew in, he's having a tough time adjusting that altitude, but have to learn harness those brakes, before you crash into a car next, kiddo. Being as your feathers on one wing got clipped, so school starts those feather grew back. And time to take flight finally for your first school season under me." he said and the team nodded smiling.
"I call that furthering us, he's helping adjust the training from 14 to college and we became so good, that our opponents are wondering what he's teaching us after the season ends." Adam said and the Dean chuckled and nodded, knowing their side of the 17 were looking forward alot to that coming season. "Don't worry Coach, we'll be fine, but with the duo back, things are bad, they just keep getting worse, we have to hold it together." Guy said and Gordon nodded sternly.
"Just de-age me Dean, the photo on the Desk, 2 weeks after he took over, and adopted me." Charlie said and the man nodded smiling and the quartet in charge of their classes all smiled then. "Four years, god you've grown, if I didn't know any better, I feel like I'm seeing your father at 14." the dean said and he nodded smiling gently. "Well if he is my father, expect his words in my voice, if the duo return to the team, Sir." he said and the faculty nodded sternly.
"J.D., he's a juvenile delinquent?" their history teacher asked and he nodded as he crossed his arms. "Did Mrs. Rosen mention a riot in science class?" Charlie asked and his new biology teacher nodded. "She's my sister, baby." she said and he nodded. "Then the part she never heard was a case of crude innuendo here, in the you know sense. With the fact we got cubs younger then 13 here right now, but he insulted my mother's honor." he said and they nodded.
"The he being Karp, and seeing red I slammed him into the wall, before Connie tried to break it up." he said and she nodded. "David that's enough to get you detention for 6 months, young man." she said in shocked fury, realizing that was what caused the riot in class. "The Coach, your version could be mom's ex boyfriend, or worse for them, my real father. That everyone in the family, that's team family find this out, it's dead duck walking here now in truth now, Mam."
"But she just never expected me to walk into him, I mean right into him since then, but if not boyfriend, he's my real father, and my version currently. I love him and I grew attached here to him, but after he left for the minors, Jess's father. He was acting assistant Coach with our driver, till dad called the league reps telling them he was holding the head coach position. Till Coach got back here, to these idiots, the Coach dating my mother is like the captain dating Beverly now."
"He could be my godfather, if things had been different my step father." he said and they crossed their arms. "To say this now, insult my family, I will not be held responsible here for my actions, because every jerk prior only liked her. But as soon as they caught a glimpse of me, they're gone, thankfully she never got remarried. Knowing if I found my father, I never needed another dead beat step dad." he said and the faculty nodded sternly to the reveal at the news.
"And I'm dating your tutor now, but I'm staying here and working from home, but I'm taking a step or 2 back, for the season prep for next school season guys. I train our next incoming, your father has you, but your jerseys numbers are deactivated. In the Ducklings till they replace you, as the next one incoming here, as they reactivate right now." Gordon said and he nodded. "Well you're our lawyer in addition to former coach now, Coach." Guy said and their new coach smiled.
"If he is my dad, he's the type I preferred, but school teacher and Coach, everything I needed in a positive male influence was him, or our coach." he said and they nodded to him as he went on. "The 10 knew this right now, but ever since, they had a serious annoyance to downright hatred for Peter, as he nearly got rid of our current one. But to the 10, they had what I don't, and these two idiots nearly drove away the closest thing I can come to it." he said and they all nodded.
"Insult to your family honor and with it right now, nearly drove away your latest, when you need a positive male influence, yes okay, your reaction, we can let that go." the Dean said sternly and she and their history teacher nodded. "This portion of it was Karp, now Peter was the cause of destruction in nearly wrecking the rest of the season for us. That was him actually, but he lied to the team, but the Coach really meant the Hawks are losers, because they went to every idea."
"Everyone, but offering a little off the top, but because I side with my godfather, if he is, I'm immediately a traitor, for siding with you. That if they revoke those scholarships because of one close game and two shut outs, then this is revenge for us bilking them this year's tuition." he said and the entire faculty crossed their arms and with them was the student body. "But Fulton and I immediately sided with your train of thought at the time, and to them we're traitors."
"Our adults, as our teachers, parents or Coach, and with me is Fulton, while I know for a fact, he blackmailed Les' side with him. Or he tells you, about the other version to this that nearly caused a $30,000 3-car pile up on the street it started with." he said and she nodded in fury at that. "And to say it now, we need Fulton protecting Constance and Tamara, and while Adam helps you with the shooting, he, that's Fulton, is an enforcer." the Dean said in shocked fury.
"Why you vicious little monster, yes I see why you wanted us to know that information, so what kind of prank is this exactly, if he's using these two items." His counterpart Coach of the baseball said sternly then. "You remember the near bi-secting in the park that day, the three of you." Charlie said and the trio nodded. "So that connected to this, well the Varsity's image is forever destroyed in hockey, they're a vicious gang of rich brats." His history teacher said sternly then.
"And that's one way to get us to understand this, we got your version of the events, getting to know you over the summer, before you start school. Though these guys get in trouble and cause a real one, we're all sounding like Robin did with the kid playing his son. After knocking the breathing masks hatch open, when he was already scared of flying." She added and he nodded. "Tell me about it, we're used to that tone with you, being 8th graders next year as for this one."
"And it's candy cordials with the chocolates next to it, but here's the disgusting part right now, you're not going to like, but they remove the candy wrapper and fill it to the top. With the fake blood now, so any person that never smashed this thing, thinks they ran over a pet rabbit. If it escaped the cage and went out the window, or worse, what's next month." he said and he nodded. "Easter's in 3 weeks, and we let out for Good Friday." she said and he nodded gently.
"Candy cordials Halloween version, but that would be, if that is sitting in the middle of the road, without the wrapping…." the football coach started to say and their entire class nodded in disgust. "Yeah it's what you're thinking here, and Greg is Jewish, so this is not only disgusting, but total blasphemy right now, in the meaning of the holiday next month." he said and the adults all nodded in disgusted shock then as one them said it for all of them sternly then.
"Oh my god that's disgusting." his history teacher said, picturing that in his mind and he nodded. "Dad saw everything, after telling him the truth, I reversed this and being as these idiots are a couple repeat offenders. And knowing I found him finally, I knew dad would disapprove of the second try as cheating is not allowed. And as a result here, after we won our first season now, my life took a total switch around, in my saving my adoptive baby sister."
"That I changed and grew up, but these idiots are going down, but they're not taking Les' and me with them right now, as Les and I changed and grew up. They keep this up, it's a case of Jennings and Douglas now, so watch your back, because if they thought I'm bad. They never seen dad lose his temper entirely as dad's worse." he said and they nodded gently. "Yeah finding your adoptive father was for the best, look at you now." she said and he nodded smiling then.
"Yeah, yeah, I know, I deflected it like 350 times, and it always seems to be the same driver and counterpart driver that nearly catches it. But they're working the construction site these idiots ran through, as 1 more time and the prank could turn deadly. It does, they're facing being thrown here as a last ditch effort to clean up their acts. And before being sent to the city reform school, Les' and I were working for my uncle, Derek Jacobs, dad arrived, tried to arrest them."
"And from there is it started a case of repeated encounters together, so though I love our new coach, I bonded to my adoptive father, or real if he's my appearance. When as an adult, though he is, just age my voice 20 years." he said and the faculty chuckled. "You sound just like him, but looks, voice, mannerisms, you're him at 14 years old, kiddo." the basketball coach said smiling and Casey Conway, nee' Jacobs chuckled and the Coach smiled in affection then gently.
"But me golden child, I can do no wrong, in anyone's eyes, or Peter to you…." he said and they nodded. "As the devil's spawn getting in trouble every time we turn around, yeah you're right, but this brat could be a sociopath with these stunts. But that's like the crash dummy Mac threw over the bridge here." Dean Derek Buckley said sternly and his adoptive father and new coach nodded sternly as Gordon crossed his arms. "Our meet and greet?" he asked and they nodded.
"And I'm quoting this opinion from the Hawks point of view, but the determination it takes to plan it out with a purse and fresh dogs drops, that's the act of sociopath, isn't it?" he asked and the school guidance counselor nodded in stern disapproval and disgust. "Yes and these brats are close to the edge, but you're turning 14, or 15, your feathers and wings are growing in. But this is childish and beyond sick, it's time to grow up!" Buckley said sternly to this and he nodded.
"When I got a going on 9 year old sister, that's the understatement of the century, my baby sister, she needs a good role model." he said and said little girl looked down smiling and Casey chuckled at that response. "Like my own does, the girls are our entire world, we would do anything for them, like the cat said take good care of them." Adam said, looking at his sister, his eyes loaded with love and she smiled at him. "Love you too brother." she said, smiling at him.
"Which is where the boom is being laid, if I get struck in my still healing injury, if they break my ribs now for whatever reason, paraphrased as what you'd say now, dad." Charlie said and his father nodded. "Indeed, we all knew it's only been a week, it's too soon for this, and you weren't supposed to be playing." his swimming counterpart said. "You got 2 choices here gentlemen: either you take off the original jerseys right now or you don't play." his father said sternly then.
"But what the heck is the matter with you two, just when are you going to stop acting like a child exactly?" the baseball coach said sternly and the entire team nodded sternly. "Grow up!" every adult in the school said together and he nodded. "I think if that book was real, it's they'd rather stay children forever, which is why they stayed in a place that kept them young. But time dilation, the person you loved grows old, case in point is Maggie." Charlie said to this gently.
"They want to stay children, while as soon as you threw them off the team, you all started growing up, after finding me, well that I understand. But though teenage to young adults, to us, still our children, no matter how old you get son." he said to him gently. "You boneheads, that fight is basically the argument here Robin had with his son right now. After he missed another game, we're not ducklings, anymore, it's time to grow up!" Guy said sternly to this then.
"Saying of which, there's a white feather here, looks like's someone lost a feather, it's a pekin feather." a girl said and he nodded. "We're Pekins in human form, but I don't think any of us are molting right now." Adam said and they started laughing at that. "Well whoever was, is molting his down and it's being replaced by feathers now, but there we go. But at least none of us are fluffed right now, it being 58 degrees right now." he said and his father chuckled at the remark.
"Alright guys, that's enough of the feather jokes." the coach said and they and Charlie nodded smiling. "I know you're ducks, but if the 11 ducks in a flock, we see walking around the farm are you, then their baby siblings are you dressed in the green with gold." Buckley said and they nodded. "Yeah this was a preteen to teenage design, but our green ones are officially retired, and we're dressed in school versions to our current ones, so we molted our down finally now."
"I never created the school version to our current ones, but they look like these with fire engine red, turquoise and gold mixed in. That's the away games, but the home games they're completely red with the turquoise and gold stripes on the bottom. So we got our versions to the school colors, we're still us, we're just the new J.V. to Varsity team." he said and they nodded. "You better stop molting, before you go bald here." a basketball player said and he chuckled.
"To any that don't understand the meaning, fluffed is where a duck puffs out his feathers to stay warm here if they jumped in water when below freezing. But a pekin, they look like an eagle when they fluff, but we're humanoid Pekins here in our case, but we're teenage ones. Losing our down, and growing our wings and feathers in, but we're not sure which version we are. Yet, by that I mean regulars or jumbos." he said and 3/4's of the school nodded with an amused smile.
"Quack." they heard in response and they nodded as Buckley chuckled at the remark and opinion. "Tell me about it Plucky, but we're teenage ducks, trapped between being ducklings at the moment. And growing in our feathers here, but our stage at this level now, is we're just a teenage duckling to our parent duck who is 6 inches taller than we are here." Charlie said and they heard an understanding quack to that news and his father chuckled at that remark then.
And as they heard a quack. "Yeah good name for me, yeah okay, my name is Plucky now." he translated and they chuckled. "Is your brother's flock hanging around, boy?" he asked and they heard an affirmative quack to the question. "I take it like us, you just grew in your wings and turned white." he asked and he got a gentle affirmative quack to that. "Yeah I did, my down faded entirely, my feathers and wings grew in and I'm white now." he read out and they smiled.
"I'm over here, brother, off to your left, on that platform!" he read through a quack and they looked and saw a young Jumbo Pekin no bigger then normal sized Pekin and smiled. "We're Pekins in human form here, but I think his father is even bigger here." he said and his father nodded. "We're either regular ones or jumbos son, but if we're jumbo's, there's an 18 to 20% difference in size here, but they're 3/4's of a yard tall and weigh 15lbs." he said and he nodded.
"Quack" "Quack" they heard and saw 16 more and they started laughing then. "Well that's us in Duck form, alright where's your father?" Guy asked and they heard a 17th, as a duck, who was 5 inches taller then the 17, stepped forward and they nodded smiling at that. "Donald, is now really the best time for this, you're not human, you can't come in red rock school." Their coach said, smiling to him, and he gave him a quack then and Charlie closed his eyes as he held it in.
"Alright young man pull yourself together, before I really give you something to laugh about." his father said to him and he nodded. "You guys are cute, though teenagers, you still look like ducklings." a teenager said and they gave a quack to the compliment. "We're actually the flock that responded to the quack branch, after Charlie was going around the farm. When getting his own flock for black circle." Plucky said with a quack and Adam started laughing at that news.
"The Games and the team round up, they're the 17 ducklings we saw on the lake." Guy said smiling and the faculty nodded. "Choosing our symbol, we look all cute and cuddly, but we can be as dangerous as a raptor bird, remember that. Miyagi looked like a push over, but don't push him, he's dangerous." Charlie said and the faculty nodded smiling. "But we're ducklings to papa Duck, papa raised us as he trains us, we're happy." he said and his father smiled in pride then.
"Yeah my babies are growing up, but 5 years left, we're making the time count, I'm your mentor, huh guys?" he asked and they nodded. "So that's you at preteen to young teenager phase entering the 8th grade now?" their history teacher asked and the 17 nodded smiling. "Looks like they decided to show you what we look like at our current age, if we were real ducks. In a way we're still ducklings, to our father duck, who is close to 6 inches taller then we are."
"But we've carried the name so long, our animal instincts of what we are show deeply here, but the flock, or team, is forever, we can't make it without the team, don't know how to." Charlie said and Plucky gave a quack of agreement, as his flock surrounded him. "Carrying the title of the true alpha of the team, well you don't need it when you been doing it so long. It stuck with you, carrying the symbol of that title or not, you are the true alpha." he said and he quacked.
"I'll take that for a 'yeah, I don't need my broken circle to know I'm alpha of the flock, I can lead with or without it, but Dizz returns to the flock, we're asking for trouble.'." Russ said and he nodded in agreement. "And we're showing them what a real alpha truly is now, we lead the flock, we're the face of the flock. But baby now, the next duckling incoming are we're being the role model, so what we do, they want to imitate." he said and Plucky gave a stern quack to that.
"How big do these flocks get if they have 16 teenagers, and one adult right now?" they heard and Buckley chuckled. "They're a family group made up of three age groups, totaling up to 70 members, at times the teenage travels together, when they leave the nest." his successor said and knew they nodded. "For the 11 of us, we been doing it so long, we're true ducks, the sextet were entering their final phase here, but they're Ducks now." Adam said and he nodded then.
"But when traveling around town, we're always together here, so being like them, hey guys, break off, 11 and 6, okay." Charlie said and they quacked and separated, as 10 of them got behind Plucky and their Father positioned himself in front of them. "Okay that's playing out as the home town side of the flock, the sextet are our new additions to the team. And guys, you smack me, you get the wing to the back, understood." their coach said as Donald quacked that.
"Yes dad." they all said together as the 11 quacked that to Donald, and everyone started laughing at that. "Yeah us or you, nothing ever changes, huh guys?" Russ asked and his counterpart quacked in agreement. "Point taken here, the hometown team are so bonded to their new coach it's like being around their dad here. While the new additions start seeing him as an uncle, as hometown flies around the farm together." Buckley said and they nodded then.
Before one of the sextet left the quintet and moved behind Plucky and they nodded. "I think that's me, I decided to separate from my sextet, and join the 11 now, to be a full time Duck. I was never on another team prior, when I played, it was for myself, outside of the system. Now, I'm officially part of the team, part of the whole, I have a family, a flock, my true friends." he said and Charlie's adoptive father as their new coach nodded gently as Charlie smiled at him.
As the 11 gave a quack, and one of them leaned in to say something to Plucky and he gave a quack to him and one of them smacked him in the head. "Quack." Donald said and he looked down and Casey started laughing. "I think that means don't get smart with me, or your nested young man, that's enough of the jokes right now boys. And start the fight right now, you're boxed." Charlie said and Donald gave a quack and his father nodded with a bemused smile then.
"That's you and me dad, but…" he started to say and then saw a female one standing next to Donald as she quacked at his and he gave a quack to her gently. "Honey don't start right now, like your peer, you're preparing for big school black circle, and guys. That's enough of the blows to the head now, enough playing." Casey said smiling and they gave a quack to confirm that thought. "That's my parents and me, with me at my current age." Charlie said and they nodded.
"With 5 years left, being the perfect son and big brother here, nothing's changed and won't till we start college right now. But best friend, skilled captain, star student, and perfect son and brother, that's me. As long as I have the team, my flock, I can handle things here just fine, and it's the same for the 10, we're a true flock: Fly together forever now." Charlie said and they nodded smiling as Plucky gave a quack gently as one of them left a wing across his back.
"Yeah Connie I think that's your counterpart, your arm across my back, her wing on his." he said and she smiled and nodded. "Yeah you're my brother, but the 17 we saw on the lake are us at 12 years old, this is us, 18 months our side, 1.2 months their's now. We been together so long, can't break habit, we eat together, school and training, travel together. We're a flock, the flock is family, leave the flock is lonely, and want to return home." she said and he nodded then gently.
"Then that would explain you skating up to school on the first day, you immediately start acting like a flock, you're the city born flock, the ones we know and knew for sure. Having been raised with this." Buckley said and Charlie nodded. "Exactly, we eat together, travel together, class and training, even though different training teams, we're a flock. Hard to break habit and why should we now, even not wearing our current jerseys, we're ducks, we fly together, when separated."
"It's lonely, can't survive without the team, we don't know how to." he said and the quintet exchanged worried looks, now realizing the side effects. "But being a team means being a squadron, basically, dad's a soldier here, you train together. Eat together, share dorms, study, you live life as a team when in training here, this summer is the adjustment period. Since they returned to their own teams, they never considered this, as soon as the games ended now."
"We reverted back to being our own team, while they returned to their hometown teams, we belonged to our own. You're seeing how good we are, during the off season championships now, where my age group goes at it one last time. And before we retire our peewee jerseys, and start high school the following year, dressed in said school's colors. Though we keep our gear and hats, in this case, the 11 of us know what we're getting into with you, we been at it longest."
"To know these things, but we're now a single unit, as a team, a flock." he said and the faculty nodded, as the quintet exchanged looks. "That's the side effect when you spend this long as a Duck on the team, the mannerisms become so engrained into your behavior. It's hard to break habit?" their single girl said shaking, not realizing the side effects then. "Though we're very social animals, the flock is our home, it's like Chris's description on being a gang in the book."
"You don't stick together, make like family, it's not a gang anymore, but with you learning Bombay's teaching strategy leading into the championships. You never that's how he trained us, before the egg cracked, and soon we're acting like them." he said, pointing at Plucky and his flock and they exchanged scared looks. "From the tone of your voice, you don't want to leave your old teams, to initiate fully into being a Duck, is that it?" their new member said sternly.
"Yeah and Russ I inducted you fully into the flock after the bemused smile he gave you." Charlie said and he smiled at him. "Just stop annoying your alter ego, before you kill each other, he's Zack, you're Rocky." his girl counterpart said and Casey started laughing at that remark. "But I call this a low point in the team you 5, but if you don't want the scholarships, just back out now. As once his father takes command of us, we're a pre academy squadron, we eat together."
"Train together, study, we're a flock, a squadron is a team." Guy said sternly and the quintet felt that stab them in the hearts. "Well I'm not backing out, I'm here to stay, I can do this, you're my flock, I'm here to stay right now, so what you tell me on our Varsity counterparts. He touches you, if Karp or Peter breaks your ribs, there will be heck to pay, you're my boss." Russel 'Russ' Tyler said and their coach, Charlie's adopted father nodded in approval to that opinion.
