Chapter 11: Training And A New Coach V

"Cole, as in Gavin Cole?" he said, reading the name on his jersey and he nodded. "I'm 25 kiddo, I understand this better then you think, but if my son is the said, we're not. In truth here, having that conversation, my counterpart is a peewee coach, like your father. I do 13 to senior in high school, that I'm trying to get my son over his fear of screwing up here." he said and he nodded. "This is going to be a long sum years." he said and the man nodded with a chuckle.

"You retired, or did the season end for the year, Gav'?" he asked and he smiled. "It's the second, pal, so you're the Mighty Ducks, and whoever is trying to live up to your reputation. They need to learn this, but I know this, the Hawks are good, but that second one right now. Is not you, your green jerseys are you, those and this set, there's the you I know." he said and the team nodded. "Yeah that and I told you everything, being my boss." he said and Cole chuckled then.

"The Hawks older brothers are the Varsity, so this character D. Tingman, in 26 years, he's one of my age group, but looking like he's 36 years old, no older then whoever is coaching the team. As the new den mother of the team, that's mom's job, den mother." he said and Cole nodded smiling and Casey chuckled. "Yep and we're sticking to familiarity here in the team, so coach, tutor, driver, grandpa mentor and den mother." Orion said with a smile and the team nodded.

"Want for better word, with 17 teenagers, out of city games, or training, are basically, we're solely the coach's responsibility here, so whoever wasn't pay attention. And their players got in over their heads, you better handle that or I do it for you, with Derek acting as my driver still. Though we're retired from pros and high school and peewee hockey." Charlie said and Cole nodded. "Good point, whoever it was, is skating on thin ice." Jenkins said with a bemused smile.

"That's literal thin ice here, if we're at the quarry, Derek." Orion said and he nodded. "Well that explains the scar on your cheek kiddo, broken ice, you got cut during a rescue mission?" Cole asked and Charlie nodded. "Yeah the Hawks tried to kill me by drowning and exposure, but I was on babysitting duty that day, watching over my little sister. But she's the girl dressed in a preteen version of my jersey." he said and Cole turned and saw a brown headed little girl then.

In a wheelchair with a miniature pro jersey on her then. "My younger sister just turned 9, so the peewees just activated for her team, my cousin, is one of her friends. And their team just took our place as the next incoming, with us training for high school level hockey." he said and Cole nodded. "These ones are about to be updated, in truth here, basically now, the away teams are going to match said game between American and Canada." he said and he smiled in relief then.

"You also wear blue helmets, not golden yellow, with the original uniforms." Cole said and Gordon nodded in agreement. "The purplish blue gets exchanged for reddish orange helmets, in the 3rd version of these, from this one, to the high school version which is fire engine red. In arms on a turquoise and green striping down the bottom with the current symbol on the chest. To your version only in reddish orange with the same look to it." he said and Cole nodded then.

"So I knew this all along right now, yeah okay that works now, I knew the real mighty ducks dressed in 3 different jerseys, before a 4th came out. As I recognize the jerseys and tell her the truth, they screwed up one piece to looking like my version of the team. The original team wore sky blue helmets rather then golden yellow, mam, aside from that Conway, 'Orion's here. But Mam, this is borderline high school as a hockey camp, but if Gordon suggested you coming."

"Then training gets a bit hectic, but your ducklings are peewee, not middle to high school on training here, so the summer is going to be hectic for your version of the Ducks. Charlie Orion is here right now, like me a retired pro hockey player in truth now. But my version of the group were who your version had a scrimmage with, before that gets her attention. Wait, your version, what do you mean your version, and what do you mean Captain Conway is here right now."

"Yes and I mean that's it exactly, but that's right, and it's not Conway, but Orion, Captain Charlie Orion, only now with him an adult, Coach Charlie Orion. But yeah, I'm a friend of the Mighty Ducks leaders, Ted is an old friend of mine here, Mam. But the guys, that's Coach Bombay and Coach Orion, but my camp is 8th grade to borderline high school." he said and Connie smiled. "The sum of us never lost contact, but Charlie's retired, and teaching hockey candidates here."

"Like you guys are, although Uncle Ted is still training teenagers, things never changed, our legacy is at the academy, the Eden Hall Mighty Ducks." she said and he nodded. "Alright kids, you decided to play with the big boys here now, before you go out there, with this look. Lose the gold helmets, we dress in blue helmets and second, I'm saying right now, take it easy. And on the stimulates, and stay away from the caffeine pills and energy drinks, but strict diet now."

"If you heard that my dad is strict on health and grades, well he's not joking, he is, I take that just as seriously, but said gambling, you kidding me, what happens if the kids win. Rather then the adults, what now exactly, that's a few hundred thousand in full size bars. And you dug in, before the competition, and you ate the winnings, you think my boss will take it well here. And about that?" Charlie said, pretending to be Orion then and they exchanged worried looks at that.

"That's right you three, the fact you never checked the odds, at times the campers do beat out their adult counterparts, let this be a lesson in the dangers of gambling. And thank you, young man, for bailing them out of jam, my team did fundraisers when we were your age. We knew better then to allow our arrogance to take hold, but no more gambling. And I'm having a talk with your coach to pay closer attention on what you're doing and less time on your brother."

"Before you guys get in over your heads right now, but no more gambling, do I make myself perfectly clear here, you three." he said at that and Cole started laughing. "No kidding, while she's worried sick about her son, she's not paying attention to her team. And what they're up to, and till the game is over, while everyone banging on the bedroom door. And you come check on this for me to see what happened, before whoever it is got a moving box care package here."

"And that saves whoever it is, but you're right, let this be a lesson in the dangers of gambling." he said and Orion nodded with a bemused smile at that. "And your father and I said never to try that right now, but this lead to a big problem, your parents and I all said the same. No gambling, because this could be the result, you grew up good kids, changed and are winners. But the team is family, we take care of each other here." Gordon said and Cole smiled gently.

"I can't believe they did that, never count your ducklings, before they hatch, we, as their adult peers, told them that 1,000 times, never to be gambling, and what if the Students win. Not the coaches, how are they going to be able to pay everyone back, if they ate the pot." Connie said and Claire started laughing at that remark and nodded. "And now you know how we feel, baby, we told you no gambling, with the goods, don't get cocky." Germaine said and she nodded.

"Tell me about dad." she said and Guy smiled at that, knowing they were close, she and he were close to starting stage 2 in their relationship, and he loved her with all his heart. "Issues in the team family, our young ducklings are teenage ducks, as we get the next generation in." Chef Goldberg said smiling and they, Hall, Reed, Orion and Banks nodded with a smile. "And issues in the incoming calls, as the phone starts ringing off the hook." Charlie said to Connie then gently.

"Yeah and something's never change, no matter how old we get, but what 26 years does to you here, 5 years between teams, and that's 5 generations of the Ducks. Winning was never the point, it's about having fun, about the game and about the team. It always was, but the team is family, if you don't stick together, make like family, it's not a team. It's pack, we're not bullies, or hotshots, we're just people that love the sport." Julie said and she and Charlie nodded then.

"And there's the you I know, you understand that, but stick around and keep things as is in the team, holding onto our title, we got a name to uphold. Or leave, and I have to start from scratch, as I make our team great again, not an option. Well I made my decision I'm working from home, and training my next incoming squad guys." Gordon said and they smiled in delight. "Well we're done here, so time for some fresh jerseys." Charlie said and he and Jan nodded.

"The…., that bad, Coach Bombay?" they heard and he looked up. "Yes young lady, you want to be a coach, in peewees leading into 8th grade, borderline high school. Well then first off you need to control your players behavior here, be the role model right now. The coach, leading into school sports is the single most important adult next to the parents. In coaches like us, though caring, we're stern about training, but behind that stern parent approach, they love us anyway."

"Being a coach in middle school to high school here, we're the parent, best friend, counselor and medical doctor, we're their mentor, they love us like another parent now. Our trust is not something they want to lose, earning it back is even worse, remember. In what happened to Will Wheaton's character, he lost the trust of both his mother and the captain. Because he waited till the last minute, well hearing from us they got caught gambling is big." Orion said and she paled.

"For the one that is said cub to said coach now, we're the one that, now you should pay closer attention to the rest of the team, not just your child now. Just say you came to me for help your berating everyone else for being winning fanatic now. And you start loving winning yourself, you're being a total hypocrite here over that, and two now. Once Gavin comes into the picture, your complaining over everything wrong with hockey camp is wearing so thin he's ready now."

"In truth to kick you out so he can get some peace, as the kids stay there, to train, as he puts my godson in charge of our new Flock. In which case, if they, several of them, get in over their heads, the coach's got to be the one to bail them out right now. Take your players gambling for instance, what happens if the kids win said game, rather then the coaches. How are they going to pay back that much in candy now?" Gordon said and she swallowed hard, realizing it finally.

"Their parents and I said no gambling, repeatedly, my team understands this, they know better then to start gambling, what if it wasn't just their own candy, your players. But everyone in the camp, what if your player never gained that moving box sized care package. How are they going to get out of this, paying back $3,000 to $10,000 worth of candy?" he asked and she started shaking. "You have to pay attention to what your kids are doing." Cole said sternly to her then.

"You're what, 15 years old right now, young lady?" he asked and she nodded. "I'm 25, I've been training hockey potentials for 18 years by then, but you want to be a better player. Then play a better player, us adults, why do they call us coaches, well it's because we're their mentors. We lead and they follow, us male coaches, but if you had a girl rather then a boy and said. Is not an only child, would you be this worried right now?" he asked and she swallowed at his remark.

"You're smothering this kid till he says it outright, I'm growing up, now back off and give me some room, watch the rest of the team, give support to Coach Cole's son. He has a glitch in his shot, anything, just give me room here right now." he said sternly and she paled at that. "My first wife does just that and till I came back and now I did, my son knows he can come to me. And for anything, but this Coach Classic is training, it's a training game, preparing for the pros."

"But if you are really more focused on your son, then the rest of your team then you shouldn't really be a coach, no cub gets special treatment by the coach if they're the said's child." Orion said and she swallowed hard at that. "My son told me never mind special treatment, he wants to be treated like the rest of the team, that's fine. Once he starts under me as I'm their coach, it's not the lineage, but the calls made from day 1 to our first game." he said sternly to her at this.

"I'm not having that argument with you over this, I may not have chosen your son for said slot, but the fact you go to outright coming to me, behind his back. Followed by my son telling your's what you did, you think that's going to go over well right now?" Cole asked her and she blanched at that remark. "This attitude of your's is the reason you're at odds with me at the time, all the time and even your own son had enough of this right now, but I'm a skilled player."

"He's a cub, you just won your first championship, and you're acting all high and mighty about it, well newsflash you won a single game, I trained hundred of young athletes here. What if he talked to me in said draft, just to separate him from you, he has me fix the drafting?" he asked and she flinched at that. "Grow up right now young lady, the anger in him is growing by the minute, and didn't you promise from the second you arrived to give him space right now."

"From the second you arrived, you promised you weren't going to be mommy, and since you, mommy, are not there, you can't prevent him from playing in that game. This is illegal anyway, it's not the parents that have a right to choose in hockey camp, it's our's the coaches. You were simply the coach, now, you're not mom, but the coach, and since you, as mom. Are not there, then you can't prevent him from playing in that game." he said sternly and she jerked at that.

"But coming to me, behind his back, this is enough to clip your wings turning you into the over protective mother everyone wants to get away from here. You ever consider after this game that he reached his limit and decides with the team drafts. He decides to stop being a duck and goes my team designation, your son saw me as the type of father he wants. But your smothering him and till he says it outright, but he's not a baby, you have to stop treating him like one now."

"And frankly I agree with him right now, your son is not a baby, and secondly you spent one winter training under Gordon, this was a practice year. And in the off season, but I'm not constantly arguing with you in how I train my campers. When I sent that offer, I wasn't having you challenge me repeatedly, you're a rookie, I been training hockey player candidates. And for 25 years, my borderline little brother is the son of another." Cole said and she went pale then.

"Your son is not a baby, you have to stop treating him like one, but my kids have been training against pros for years, summer camp in hockey. This Coach Classic, this is the highlight of the summer they look forward to this every year. To show how much they learned, but my godson, he's next in command of coaches at this camp. But you're a young coach, learning from true players and coaches, Coach Charlie Orion, so Coach Orion Jr., but that remark on wrong team."

"The wrong team is going to be Ted's replacement in Peewees later, but that attitude of questioning him on everything. Though we're very good, we retired or became coaches, you have a lot to learn about being a peewee coach and even more now. About dealing with the leader of said hockey camp here when your players are this good. But 1) pay attention to all your players, not just your son, before they get in over their heads now, in something."

"Two) winning isn't everything, you win some and you lose some, the point is it's not whether you or lose, but how you play the game. 3) You want to be a better player, then play a better player and 4) yes this game is dangerous. But this is why, in truth, we take precautions, but are you always going to be this pushy in protecting your team. Making decisions they don't agree with here, or push your opinion, till it estranges you from him." Gordon said and she swallowed.

"Alexandra, that attitude of your's is the reason, I pulled out, if I left and turned my clubhouse for the kids into a skating rink, needing work done on it. But training in the off season, he forgot who you are, and drags up the Hawk version of my team. Been 30 years and you're 39 now, your son is 12 years old, this trying to keep him from playing against Gavin. You think that reaction is going to go over well right now for him?" he asked her and she swallowed hard then.

"But my reactivating our version now of jerseys, and just so you know, want to match the look of my team, look at the helmets." Gordon said sternly and she looked at the helmets and saw sky blue. "Are you always this stern with your team, with Coach Orion being your co-coach?" she asked him and he nodded. "Are you questioning my coaching young lady, in the way we do this, because I warn you that's not going to go over well." he asked and she started shaking.

"Your coaching skills leaves a lot to be desired, young lady, but that Coach/camper game is a training game here, how soon before Charlie says it for both of them, 'you know. I am so sick and tired of hearing you complain about everything wrong here at this camp. You think you can do better as the head coach of the center, you got the job.' he says, tossing his whistle at you. So now what, you finally alienated everyone from coaches to players training there right now."

"And till they all had it with you, you think you can be the new leader of the Ducks, you think you can train the kids better, you ever play hockey?" he asked her sternly at this and she went pale at his remark. "To answer your question we are, we deal with kids day in and day out, but exercising the father in us, Charlie's reached the age where it's critical." he said and she nodded,. "Yeah now you done lady, you really done it." Fulton said sternly and she swallowed.

"Hey guys, team reunions of us original ducks, that's 30 years and we're 40 to 41." Charlie said and they nodded smiling. "Yeah that's our third 10th year reunion after we all retired, though you went all the way, my brother, you may not be at the reunion at Jans's skating rink. But we know you'd come if you had the chance to." Connie said smiling and he nodded. "Just imagine the exchange after this catch comes into it and Gavin offers." Adam said and he nodded gently.

"Tell me about it, I saw the pictures of the 11 of you on the wall in your office, before the one that was the predecessor to the ones that are now making a mockery of your team name. But at 40 years old, you look like your double now, you're dressed in your college to pro style jersey." Cole said and Orion smiled. "The one that became my version at the academy, yeah I know, but that's the one you wear and are hanging the second on the wall." he said smiling then at that.

"From dad's point of view now, the one thing that all great teams have in common, is defense, as Defense now, you see, unlike scoring. Defense never quits, but to play great defense, you need one thing above all else: Confidence. But listen, if you learn nothing else when you're there, you learn this, all right? 'Cause it's not just about hockey, Peter. In fact it never was, it's easy to be confident when you have control of the puck, keeping it on a shut out now in truth."

"It's very, very difficult to keep that confidence when you gotta take whatever strange bounces life throws your way. Don't be careless, but don't be too careful either, you cannot be afraid to lose, that's how you gain the confidence. Just to attack the game when the puck isn't yours, that's how you attack life even when you think. That you don't have any control and that's how you play real defense." he said and Daniels swallowed, realizing his character rival changed.

"To rephrase that, you think everything is going fine, but then one thing goes wrong, and then another, and another, you try to fight back, but the harder you fight back. And the deeper you sink, till you can't move, can't see, can't breathe, because you're in over your head. Like quick sand, but yeah we're afraid here, but confessed our fears to each other. And over came them, together right now, you never understood that, not even when we were 10, you never got it."

"That's why I'm captain and you're not, to be captain of the team, I been doing this so long, I understand better then anyone and this is why the others will listen to me now. But there are several key things you need to be an effective captain and dad sees them all in me. Being as I been leading the team for 4 years and the sextet will only listen to me, but to name them off. And are you and Karp paying attention right now?" he asked and the duo both paled at that.

"So with that 1) They Always Put The Team First: Great captains aren't interested in personal glory. Instead, they constantly look for ways to serve their team and help it accomplish its goals. They have the mentality that together everyone achieves more which makes them an ideal teammate. This kind of attitude can be contagious within a team and goes a long way to creating an environment that breeds success, especially when hockey is a very big deal."

"So to further this is 2) They Lead By Example: Captains are tasked with the responsibility of leading those around them and setting an example for what is expected. Within the team now, captains are typically the first players to get to the field, or rink, to help set up. And the last to leave once everything has been put away, they take on extra responsibilities. And ensure that everything runs smoothly because they have the best interests of the team at heart here."

"While 3) They Inspire Those Around Them: with this one, it's you're the one giving them the strength. Just to fight, keep going, but great leaders, now. Not only lead by example, but they inspire those around them to do more. People are much more likely to follow a leader who has passion and enthusiasm for what they are doing. Captains can't be afraid to stand up for what they believe in and rally support, Good captains also embrace taking on new challenges."

"Which makes their teammates want to do the same, they are always excited to play the beautiful game. And regardless of their opponent, in situations where their team may be the underdog going into a game. They spread positive energy and instill a sense of belief that anything is possible. While 4) They Have A Positive Relationship With Coaches & Teammates: Captains have to win the trust of those around them in order to lead effectively."

"Trust is developed over time when players continually do the right things and show their teammates and coaches that. Now, they care, Good team captains model the behavior they expect from others and earn it along the way. 5) They Embody The Core Values of Their Team: Every team may have different core values depending on what its goals are and what the players, now, are trying to accomplish, the core values of my hockey camp teams are honesty."

"Integrity, and excellence, I rely on my co-captain to model these core values so that others will follow in our's now. And in their footsteps, but 1) Trust: All strong relationships are built on a foundation of trust. Trust is established over time by continually doing what is right. 2) Integrity: Integrity means doing what you believe is right at all times, no matter the consequences, 3) Excellence: in Pursuing excellence means always striving to do your best."

"Excellence can be achieved. Through good habits, persistence, and a commitment to never stop learning." he said and he swallowed. "So with that, 6) They Work Hard & Persevere: Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. For a team to be successful, players on the team need to develop a strong work ethic and that starts with the leader. When players feel like giving up, good captains have the ability to raise the energy of their side and help them."

"Their teammates, to keep going, when players see their leader working hard, it inspires them to to do the same, which is why my friends, your friends, saw it. In me, I never needed that symbol of authority, to lead and guide my team, because it shows in everyway possible. That to dad, the Coach and Coach Hamilton, our college Coach, he's like the duo, saw it immediately. Furthermore, in life adversity is inevitable. Whether players are on or off the pitch here now."

"That bad things will happen, those who persevere have the best chance of being successful, Captains don't back down when faced with adversity; they fight until the very end. And last, but not least now, 7) They Step Up When The Team Needs Them: Whether they're team lacking energy in a hot preseason training or down a goal. In a championship game, great team captains find a way to step up when their team needs them, it could be by inspiring them."

"Their teammates, keeping a positive attitude, or continuing to battle, even when things are not going well, the important thing is that they are leaders and leaders to find a way now. To make an impact when it matters most." he said and he nodded, shaking then in fear then. "To be an effective captain now here, is you lead by example, you see the captain. And like the quarterback and driver, the captain has to work harder then anyone, Peter, way harder now."

"The captain is the first to practice, the last to leave, you have to be 100% focused at all times, while the rest of the team. Said are messing around, the captain or quarterback is studying the playbook, the driver: the turns. You have to know every weakness in the plays, every way it could go wrong, a flaw in the plan. So you actually challenge the Varsity to a match you learn this the hard way here, after you're in charge of the White Squad now, you are in charge."

"The leader of the team, anything happens to a member of the team, you have to be the one to tell the coach and their parents, so do you want the responsibility?" he asked and he swallowed hard, never realizing the level of responsibility in the job then. As he looked at Adam who was standing in front of the 7 as the White team with his arms crossed then. "Think about that, but I had enough of this back and forth between us, we're done." he said, ending it at that sternly.

"When did they get in here exactly right now?" Cole said sternly, and Charlie said it with a sigh. "Not realizing Bombay passed us to dad, and he is my father, that they were hoping for a fresh season, but too late, the entire team is going to E.H. now. They're alone, 2 teenagers amongst 14 preteens, the coach has to start from scratch, not happening. Dad gave them a chance, but he threw it in his face, so the only way he gets back is probation." he told him and they nodded.

"Alex, if this was me walking in behind them after we decided to organize some fresh gear, and saw the game, when whoever it was, was just like Dwayne, in a being a puck handler. We can't always go by the play, the plan, as the plan always go pear shaped, we have to improvise. But you hung up on winning right now, the game is not about winning, it's about having fun. And you acting like that, is draining the fun out of the game." he said and she looked down then.

"Want to go over that now dad, after you and Coach just let her have it, Karen is 35, me 40, and she understands hockey orders, hearing it from you all the tome. As you and I are exchanging a fast conversation, over the right play, before we kill the clock?" he asked and he nodded then gently. "Agreed, and just pretend you arrived after the reprimand we just gave her right now, for her attitude, we won the game, but that reaction." Gordon said and he nodded sternly.

"Yep, and with that, alright Alex do you understand anything about hockey, the responsibilities with being a coach, or captain of the team?" he asked and she froze up, realizing what she was about to hear, was about to get her fired by her own son. And with the quintet, their side of the team, plus Kenny, but hearing his voice, she realized she was screwed now. "Nice timing Rex, you couldn't have better moment then now." Adam said and he nodded gently, as he said it.

"So with that 1) They Always Put The Team First: Great captains aren't interested in personal glory. Instead, they constantly look for ways to serve their team and help it accomplish its goals. They have the mentality that together everyone achieves more which makes them an ideal teammate.

And last, but not least now, 7) They Step Up When The Team Needs Them: Whether. In they're team lacking energy in a hot preseason training or down a goal. In a championship game, great team captains find a way to step up when their team needs them, it could be by inspiring them."

"Their teammates, keeping a positive attitude, or continuing to battle, even when things are not going well, the important thing is that they are leaders and leaders to find a way now. To make an impact when it matters most." he said and she nodded, shaking then in fear then. "To be an effective captain, or Coach as the case maybe here, is you lead by example. But you see the captain and like the quarterback and driver, the captain has to work harder then anyone."

"First to arrive at practice, the last to leave, the Captain has to be 100% focused at all times, know every flaw in the game plays, while his team are messing around. He's studying the playbook, making adjustments, catching where and when it could do wrong. He's responsible for the team, so someone gets hurt, he had to report it, before the damage. Now, becomes permanent, that's the same for the coach, you want that?" he asked and she swallowed hard.

"But Dad, I found something here, we had only 2 D. names on our version of the team, Dwayne and Dean, but no Darryl Tingman, you better take a look at this. I checked every year till Bombay passed us to you, no D Tingman." he said and he took the roster list, as the sextet surrounded him. "Yeah that's strange alright, we never had D. Tingman, in 5 years training, leading into when your father took us on after we became the J.V." Connue said sternly to this.

"Yeah these idiots in the board screwed up, we had a team/family meeting every year preparing for the season, and I knew your faces immediately. But Darryl, I have no idea who this kid is, but I don't remember that brat being on our team from the time you were 10 to 14. Leading into high school and I became your permanent coach, son." Orion said sternly and he nodded. "The roster, here take a look." he said and he took it and checked the 1992-1993 season and nodded.

"Yeah, no Darryl Tingman, he's not on the list, 1991 to '92, 1992 to 1993, no Darryl Tingman, 1993 to 1994, '94 to '95 no Tingman, '95 to '96, no Tingman, no. No, no and no, in 9 years, before they went U.M., no Tingman, how do you explain this." he said to Alex and she paled, realizing in the entire time she and Tingman were at odds with each other. She never thought to check the early seasons roster, after Gordon dropped the truth to how he fell from grace then.

"And Coach stopped coaching after '96." Connie added and she swallowed hard then. "So there's the mystery being wrapped into an enigma, where did this guy come up with that story. When we all know that coach, after passing us to Uncle Ted, retired and took the job here. That the JGWG gave him, that's a lie, he was never part of the team, he's 40, but looks 36. So we all know this, the Cardinals, Panthers, Huskies, Hornets, Jets and Planes went to the other 9."

"In private high schools, but Tingman now, the Varsity gave their brothers their numbers, but they had a Tingman on the team: #56 J. Tingman, they're Varsity Hawks." Averman said and they nodded. "And we all know they had a beef with us, after beating out their brothers, Tim said it directly, 'You know my brother lost his J.V. slot when they brought us in there.'. Fair and square wager, it can't be anything else, the gauntlet was thrown in my near murder right now."

"We know our history better then this board of directors, so there is a very rotten apple in the orchard and one being brought into the spotlight. Fork in the road, the road not taken, if you never took that job, you train every team and we know this. The symbol of District 5 stays our peewee symbol, and Huey is a grown boy Duck now, been 30 years. But he grew up, like we did and if they were still alive, that's them on the jerseys." he said and the 20 all nodded sternly.

"Pet Duck?" Alex repeated and he nodded. "Yeah our mascot's baby flock, when we were kids ourselves, you with us now, chose their doubles in my team. So baby was dressed in red, so me in red, him in red, age these guys 30 years and check the symbol. On the peewee jersey, adult duck dressed in hockey gear, check the neck collar." he said and she got a look. "That's a red shirt." her son said and he nodded. "That's Huey as an adult." Connie explained and he smiled.

"With the series taken on by the Disney company, and we named the sextet their character names, the term magic took on a whole new meaning. But the sextet in real form, rather then cartoons are actually what the sextet looked like, off the silver screen. And they played hockey, was the den mother or their coach, and dad is the coach. While my nickname was Huey, Connie Webby, Adam Louie, and Les', or Jesse, Dewey." he said and the team chuckled and nodded.

"To answer you, they're preppies, the alumni themselves said are a bunch of aging pep clubbers, you are my team as I waited for you to come back. As you got your head together, you became everything I wanted you to become." Orion said and he nodded as he said it. "Coach, mom, dad, look at the color, what is purple, compared in the next 5 shades down. But 2 of the colors in addition to blackish silver is white and sky blue." Charlie said and he nodded sternly to him.

"Black in purple form is plum." Orion said and he nodded. "Bingo, so with that, plum purple, borderline black, silver, sky blue and white, the duck mask. Said is face forward, looking directly at you, with a cocky look on the mask with the sticks right behind it. Now looking at mine, the mask is turned slightly to the right, with a stern, warning look on it. The sticks are crossed, the golden circle, the age old question: which came first, the duck, or chicken, or the egg now."

"Our motto in hockey form was always, use this knowledge, what you, our own coaches taught us, for defense, never for attack, like a real martial arts expert." he said and he and Gordon crossed their arms sternly. "You're the only one that took that seriously after you actually laid into Karp for getting cocky now." Connie said and he nodded. "Exactly, as the leader of the 17 of us, to our parents, Buckley, Hans and Jan, I was carrying a wisdom far beyond my years."

"Because I switched it around, hockey, said is what we do, not who we are, but win or lose, at the end of the day, we're not you, who do I mean by that." he asked and they crossed their arms. "You meant the Hawks, but there's the you we know, our brother, son, 30 years nothing's changed at all, carry the symbol of authority, with or without. I never been prouder of the man you become son, but if you came to fix this, time to expose them." Gordon said and he nodded.

"The symbol itself is a dead give away, look at my jersey right now, this is the symbol we wear in high school, peewees was Huey, as an adult, in hockey gear, so…." he said and Kenny backed into the locker at that. "Every team we played against in the championships always wore black, with what colors added to it, aside from the Varsity." he said and Orion nodded. "Blue, silver and white, the Varsity were red, gold and white, but Hawks, to Vikings, to Warriors, and there it is."

"After they stunned Guy hard enough to put him out, and Dean took his place, as the game got more physical, you used the tactic I taught you, did a reverse pass to Greg to win the game." he said and he nodded. "Oh my god, it can't be, blackish silver, is practically black, white and sky blue stripes, the symbol is not us at all, we never had the mask facing forward. But turned slightly to the right, with a stern, warning look on it." Connie said and Gordon nodded slowly.

"No, no you are not serious, it can't be, the Hawks are now the worst team in the leagues." he said to that possibility and he nodded. "It is, my mind keeps returning to Cole's threat, 'you know we're going to hurt you'. But he didn't mean right now in that game, but sometime in the future, after 15 years winning streak. And suddenly when you, Gavin and dad all retire from the leagues, they make their move, at our own age of 30, we turned into a powerhouse, we're now."

"Finally, the very thing we hate most: the Hawks." he said and Orion nodded slowly at that as he went further. "But 'if you can't be great at hockey, then don't bother', rephrase that to when we were kids, 'it's not worth winning, if you can't win big'. But the diet, the way they changed our symbol, from our jerseys as kids, to what it looks like now. The Spirit of the Ducks reunion gala, Adam said it himself, at one point, he'd fit in with them, but reborn a duck now here in truth."

"The symbol itself is a dead give away, but he's our age, he's our age of 40, we're 40 to 41, in the team, he's our age, and she's a few years younger then us with a 12 year old son. How old is Winny exactly?" he asked and they nodded. "Uh oh." the entire team said, realizing where this was going. "She's 36, after being remission, and she's okay now." Adam said and he nodded. "Alex, how old are you?" he asked and she nodded. "I'm 36." she said and he nodded sternly.

"But 10, to 14, to….." he said and Adam nodded. "To 18, there's 8 years between the girls and Jared, he's 45 now, we're entering 41 and 42 here. And 5 years between us and Karen and Katie, as such right now, there's the glitch in the time frame here. That when Darryl starts talking like that, he sounds like he's repeating whatever it was. Now, that 'he' said to him and brainwashed him with." Adam said and Charlie nodded as he looked between his side gently.

"That's because it is Drag', in truth now, but was nobody paying attention here, we all thought this, but we never considered the thought. It's not till he actually says the words, which sound suspiciously like, 'You're not even a has been, you're a never was'. Who said that and it was just before the mutiny now, and dad nailed Peter to the wall, for the implication." he said and they exchanged stern looks. "Darn fool, I knew that would come into it." Orion said sternly to him.

"It's been 30 years, since 1992, how old were we in the peewees, when you found us?" he asked and he nodded. "You guys were 10 to 11." he said and he nodded. "Well look at him right now, and look at us, do we look the same age?" he asked and Guy covered his eyes. "Yeah we do, he's 40, but looks 7 years younger, young enough to be one of your father or Coach's players. No older than Karen right now, but that's a serious misconception, baby is 35, so with that."

"Yeah he could be one of us, our age group." Averman said and he nodded. "And to repeat that, we never let our hair grow out that long in us boys, so clearly he's a Tommy fan. And when he was still the green dragon, we nicknamed Adam Flyboy, after he became the falcon. So still rockin' the hair, and we don't talk like that anymore, we're cubs of the 90's. She's a few years younger here than we are, that's the next decade slang here for rad." Guy said to that opinion.

"Remember after reading that book, we started talking like our parents, but that blow to the head, left a pretty tuff looking scar." Charlie said and they nodded. "Especially the one on your leg, and Chris was right, that trip to L.A., that's the only time we ever been out. And of our neighborhood, while the cat tried to sneak herself in right now, but 16 years. Living in Richfield and you see alot, but all the wrong things, not the things you want to see, growing up there."

"For 16 years you learn alot, but all the wrong things, not the things you want to learn, but in essence, we're basically Miyagi's chosen, for the way of the Duck, in hockey. The kids nowadays will never understand a good 80's and 90's love for movies, books and music. Because they never grew up that way, tuff, we're molting, we're fluffed, so….?" Fulton asked and they nodded. "Yeah we've become our parents in every sense of the word." Connie said to that news gently.

"Who lost a feather this time, because you're more fluffed than normal." Charlie said and Jesse swung his head around with a bemused smile. "Do we need to get into this right now, because we have enough ruffled feathers as it is." Fulton said and Orion hid a laugh at his remark and Connie looked at him smiling. "Alright we're not doing that again, and keep it up, I'm taking my wing to you right now, Huey." she said to him smiling and Tommy started laughing at that.

"And we never use that slang anyway right now, but rather tuff looking haircut, we talk like Emilio's gang, our parents, but we're city kid versions of them, our parents are that age group. But we grew up on their opinions and the point, that what Simpson said, what seems normal to kids nowadays, is completely strange and frightening to us, as to our childhood. We were never carrying around those darn things, but went to a payphone." Adam said and the sextet nodded.

"That or the land line, we never let the kids near the stove top, make sure everything was off, before going to bed, our parents never left us alone for long, case in point. Is after you, Guy and Jesse drove the Zamboni through the wall and they were not amused at the time. That she and then Jan came along for further adult supervision, his wife became assistant coach." he said and Casey hid a laugh at that. "Yeah that or driving on the ice." Averman said with a bemused smile.

As Mckay covered her eyes. "And there's the other reason I was coming along, so you don't bring the car out on the ice after you scared your aunt and uncle out of their wits." she said and Gordon nodded with a bemused smile. "Jason, yeah Jason would give the kids an earful for that, but the incident with the marshmallow, at least that wasn't the living room rug." he said and Tommy started shaking in laughter. "Alright laugh it up, baby." Casey said smiling at that.

"Aunt, Uncle?" Alex asked and they nodded. "We're a family gang, the Ducks of old are a family gang, since the 92-to 2001 seasons. The planning was first a family holiday, we got together the next day for gang time, but Charlie's my godson. My apprentice, at one point, before I left for the minors, I was dating Casey, and we took a step back. To best of friends, she's still in love with Ted, loves Ted and I understand that, I don't mind." Gordon said and they nodded in shock.

"Yeah, like Abe Simpson said: what seems normal and hip, let alone cool, to these kids nowadays, is completely strange and terrifying to us and our parents now." Guy said, crossing his arms and Connie nodded in agreement gently. "Born in the 80's, raised in the 90's Guy, the girls born in the late 80's, had their cub to pre-teenage years. In high school from 2001 to 2006, and they're adults now in the just starting 2020's here." Charle said and they all nodded then.

"She and Winny are entering high school, just as we're leaving it." Connie added and they all nodded. "Our parents are 60 years old, Emilio, Jeff, Heidi and John, like our parents, are all 60 years old." Kenny said and he nodded. "The man playing him, is 30 playing a 40 to 41 year old here, young enough to be part of our age group. And when we and Russ talked, it was like that reeks, our hood and so on, street talk, street savvy, we're city kids." Guy said and he nodded

"But we were 14 in 1996 and with that in mind, she was 10, Karen was 8, borderline 9, but as we started high school, we started dressing in more kept up clothes. We were also shedding that side of ourselves and become everything that Diane said. Aside from Peter and Karp, they were the only hoods out of us at the time here, but the Morrows are like us. As are the rest of the team, minus Sofi and Logan, they're from Adam's neck of the woods." Connie said to him then.

"But the phone as the egg, the blindfold hockey, the flip the pancake, all Duck training, and that bonehead never learned any of this stuff, if he can't recognize it when he sees it. And along with, in truth, the baby out of the basket, defense catch now, aside from it. The it, not knowing the quack attack when he sees it, or just the blue collar hockey, we learned that. And from your father, so if he never knew these things, then he's not a Duck at all." Adam said and he nodded.

"Yeah 1996, they're 10, 4 years later, 14, we're 18, 20 years later 34, we're 38, 2021, 37, 40, and…, oh you got caught you little liar, you're no older then we are." Kenny said sternly and the sextet nodded, as they looked at his parents. "Oops, uh oh, yeah good point in the naming off playing as your godfather and I mixed it together. But Baby out of the basket was me, as was blue collar hockey, he did that catch with the phone, the quack attack, the spatula play now."

"And now we reached something else, if Darryl doesn't know the last 2, then he never was part of the team from the 1992 to 1993 season to 1996, when I came back into your life." Orion said sternly and Gordon nodded. "Team huddle here guys, because the truth comes out now, he's being eviscerated here. By the board of directors for lying to them in being trained by me, guys, baby." Gordon said and they nodded as the sextet, Casey and Orion surrounded him then.
