Chapter 12: Training And A New Coach VI
"I know, she's the same age as Winny, and 2 older then Karen, he's 40, but looks 33, like he could be trained by you, but look at the roster, guys. But did we have a Darryl T, on our team, from 1992 to 1996, right now, with dad coaching us till the Coach came home. And we gained Kenny and the quintet, before those idiots returned and then dropped out. Just before Hans passed that year?" he said and they, Casey and Orion all crossed their arms at the question.
"No, we didn't, it was just the 14 of us, and the trio." Adam said and Casey crossed her arms. "Then we know we got a vulture in this team, or just a Hawk wearing a Duck jersey here, the little weasel is no older then we are. But we kept to ourselves, ever since your father threw those two out." Guy said sternly to this revelation. "Role reversal here, with the 9 not here right now, but it's the 6 of us, Jesse and Greg, the trio and the sextet now, I don't believe this."
"And who wasn't paying attention to that exactly right now, because if they never checked the roster, they never saw this, Coach left, after turning us over to your father." Fulton said and they nodded in agreement. "Yeah no kidding, we never had a Darryl on the team, but we did have a Dean and Dwayne." Guy said and Adam and Connie nodded. "Then who is he, because we knew the roster of the Hawks, and he did have a…." Connie started to say and they all straightened.
"Bingo, we never had a Darryl T on the team, Coach retired after training us and turning us over to dad, so with that in mind right now here. T', Darryl T', we know only one Darryl T', when in the peewees, his brother beat the you know out of Guy. During the showdown after slamming him up against the boards here." he said and Casey and Orion straightened at the remark then. "And like Luis said, we'll get them back for that, and we did after a fake out, back swing shot."
"And we won, as the mascot changes, permanently to us, it can't be anything else, he said we knew they were going to hurt us, but this is revenge. Pure and simple, may have taken 30 years, but so what now, Ralph's movie series, chapter 3. We're the true Mighty Ducks, training our true successors, the leader of which is everything I am. And baby is another Dwayne, we incorporated our different skills to our benefit, it's 'him'." he said to him then and they nodded.
"Move it down, grandpa is dead, who's next in age groups, they died 10 years ago, but Hans and Jan, they're Ducks, they were everything a true grandfatherly mentor is, who's next." he said and he and Orion nodded. "Us and Gavin, then you, your sisters, moving down further, the cubs of 2009, further down to the kids of 2013, to now, our grandcubs. Leaving only one person and one person only, it's been years, but his name we never speak." Orion said sternly in realization.
"Indigo purple, sky blue and white, if you can't be great at hockey, then don't bother…., Coach T', T is short for Tingman, Coach Darryl Tingman, the Hawks of 1992 to 1996, Reilly!" Gordon shouted in fury and they nodded in shock. "Oh my god, they, pretending to change, switched to our color, deep pumpkin orange, and, pretending to be the worst team in the league. At the same time, Darryl went to the association told them that Coach trained him and he's a duck."
"And spent 10 years transforming us into the very thing we hate the most: the Hawks!" Fulton said in shocked fury and the quartet nodded angrily then as Gordon and his parents nodded in shocked disgust then. "They been trying to destroy us for 20 years after we destroyed them till we started college, guys, they're the Hawks!" Guy said sternly and the cubs nodded sternly. "You mean to tell me, I been playing as a Hawk all this time?!" Adam's unborn double said to him.
"That's exactly what we're saying, that's actually code for, 'it's not worth winning, if you can't win big' we know their code, but if they're getting that brutal with you. It means they're Hawks, we're just not that rough, and we don't play that kind of hockey. But listen to me guys, especially you, Evan, Sofi, but baby, honey, in truth here now. Is you both got suckered by the Hawks, they're everything we're not now, guys." Connie said and Tommy covered his eyes then.
"We got to get our title back, change us back, guys that's where you come in, before the states, we can train you, but you're being trained as a true Duck now, you're us. In every sense of the word kids, the youngest generation ever and now time to take back. What rightfully belongs to us, our title, our name and everything that comes with it." Charlie said and they nodded to that. "Ducksworth is going to kill them, when he hears this." Gordon said and he nodded to that.
"Well at least our family is coming back together, I didn't think you'd ever come home, Rex." she said and Charlie nodded as he hugged her tightly and she tightened her arms around him. "I know and I am now Hammer, I'm coming home, but 1) we need to renovate our clubhouse. And 2), we have to train the kids, but I'll be back next week, but Coach, time to use your legality. And to your own benefit, bro, that goes for you, the NCAA regs." he said and they both smiled.
"Build up your dreams and then strike them down like a common criminal, yeah alright, we're, before you go to the qualifying rounds. We're teaching you to be a true Duck, some of our greatest plays now, but there's about to be a grudge match." Adam said, crossing his arms. "As I said, time and time again, winning is not everything, but whoever you let go to your head. Is you're pushing these children too far, they're only 12!" Casey said and she swallowed hard then.
"And wow, I was gonna ask if anyone wanted to go to Dairy Queen, but the mood has seemed to change." Tommy's friend Andy Jamison said and and his version of Connie nodded. "Ev, I left the Ducks to get away from this stuff. This isn't the Don't Bothers I love." she said to that. "Yeah, I know." Tommy said and Andy nodded. "But what are we gonna do?" he asked and he nodded "Yeah, you're right…., I have to fire my mom." he said with a sigh and she felt her heart shatter.
"Yeah, yeah Coach, she could be the said mom that found she likes winning, till she never listens to you, you know more, you inspired us to do better. Took a team full here of don't bothers and transformed us into the most famous team in Southern Minnesota. And as a result here of the press release, she's acting like you, and won't let baby play here. And till, now, you go to decoy mode, before the Ducklings fire her for her behavior." Charlie said and they nodded sternly then.
"But getting into the NCAA is nothing, but trouble, whoever needed a loan gets one, but if that's the direction the show takes, then he's not going to bother. And with leaving Richfield now in truth, but he was basic training, Gavin is like dad right now. High school to pro training, as I suggest he sends you there, as you play in the championship showcase. The Team and I, dad had been a flock, a family for 30 years, you're the new additions." He said and Gordon nodded.
"Yeah first Gordon then me, till she alienates us both, I'm a skilled coach, your coach decided to stay a peewee Coach, because the NCAA fires him, for said policy violation. Don't have the money, ask for a loan, that's a cheap shot." Cole said sternly and Charlie nodded in agreement and Gordon nodded sternly. "Yes and the ice palace was the club house for the team, now, as you graduated from first high school and then college, that was our special spot to play."
"You guys and the Ducklings are my pride and joy everything was perfect now till 2001 and leading into 2006, and now it's all about winning, we are the Mighty Ducks. What happened to playing for fun, what happened to win or lose, hockey is what we do, not who we are." he said and the 17 nodded smiling in agreement then to that. "You took a team of nobodies and turned them into winners, better people, they love you and Ted, but this is who we are now here."
"That powerhouse has no idea who we are, they have no idea what it means to be Duck, once the worst team in the league, now we're everything that we come to hate. The Hawks, this is who we are." Jenkins said as he was dressed in his peewee driver jacket, that looked like his coaching jacket then, as the entire team were dressed in their original jerseys. "The point is, if you want to be a Duck, start acting like it, because that attitude, leading into the state finals."
"Is enough to have everyone resenting you." Charlie said and Orion said it. "You know this girl?" he asked him then gently and they nodded. "Alexandra Morrow, but she always had a case of being worried where hockey is concerned. Where said training camp would lead to, say the campers vs. the Coaches, what we call the Coach Classic now. As we're borderline high school students, you been doing this for years, to her this is suicide." Connie said and he nodded.
"She's my upstairs neighbor, the cats, and why I keep complaining of the level of racket from repeated cat fights, dad." he said and Orion nodded sternly. "So 11 years old, and borderline 29 years, and your son is 13, young lady you need to understand that though pro players. This is meant for training, but the side effects, what happens if we find out that your version. Of the Ducklings are gambling and get caught, and can't pay the camp back?" he said and she paled.
"Hey Coach Bombay, I need to field a few questions for said future series!" they heard and he nodded as a man dressed as a Disney company rep appeared. "Unless…., oh nice try, after we destroyed them 15 years in a row, they decided to hide things. Changing it to our original color, which was deep pumpkin orange, and created this, as a new look!" Charlie snapped, as he passed Gordon the new powerhouse symbol and he nodded stern anger at the news then.
"Don, Sir, come here!" he called out and Donald Tibbles and his former boss, Gerald Ducksworth walked over to him and he handed him the rosters. "That was from 1991 to now, if he dragged up a remark of saying he's one of mine, he's lying, you had the evidence." he said and he looked at it. "Phil knew this and told you the truth, that my idea, through Charlie, brings the money in faster then the bookies, but this is revenge for the showdown." he said and he nodded sternly.
"Yes our side of the 17 was only 11, but 30 years, I'm no older then 70, their parents, and you are 60 by then, I knew this, my counterpart, my partner, once said reaction. Is if Charlie comes back, dressed like this, as though he just got off the rink after a more then exhausting practice. Though by then he's retired himself from the pros and became a coach himself now, you tell me, and then we got another grudge match here to return what rightfully belongs to you, the name."
"The title and everything that comes with it." he said and Tibbles nodded slowly. "You mean to tell me that the name this kid is, he's not a Duck at all, after I met your side. After adding mine to it, and then Russel joined in?" he asked and Gordon nodded sternly. "That's right, when we say Hawks in Duck jerseys, I mean literal here now, because our colors. Are lime green, gold, purplish blue, maroon bordering on purple, turquoise and white, and we just added red to it."
"This is grape, bordering on plum, we never had the mask looking directly at you with a cocky smirk, but rather turned to the left with a warning look. As you know my double played a Greaser, well this is The Karate Kid, gone hockey. We're Miyagi's dojo, but the stripes gave it away, blackish silver, sky blue and white." he said and he nodded sternly. "Darryl Tingman is a Hawk of their age group, but looks closer to my god daughter's, Charlie's, baby sister's age."
"The Hawks in Duck jerseys, Greg, high school symbol is really just an updated version to the pro jerseys Jan designed, while the secondary copy is the one. Now, being used for this said showcase right now, this design says Hawks in everyway you can say it. Reilly, trying to get his credibility back up, and Tingman was his frontal now." Gordon said and the director crossed his arms as they looked at the said player/coach and he swallowed hard, realizing he got caught.
"So trying to destroy our image, we're going to destroy you, Reilly!" Gordon said sternly and he went pale, now realizing they realized his plan, to get his credibility back up. "That's it huh, to insure your legacy, you pretend to be the worst of the league, and then have Tingman. Now say he's one of my players, when I know my team roster in and out, and I never had a Tingman. On my team, as you turn my team into you: the Hawks!" he said and he started shaking in fear.
"Who here is the Hendrix stadium boss and board leaders here exactly, because I'm setting the record straight, before the company makes that tv show?" he asked and a group of men stepped forward. "Sorry gentlemen you been had all those years right now, we're good yes, but we put fun, now, before winning. But our motto is winning is not everything, win or lose it's how you play the game, but the remark that Coach T gave her son is Hawk in everyway you can say it."
"The remark is 'It's not worth winning, if you can't win big', 30 years later, from 2001 to 2021-2022 game season, that remark became. Now, 'if you can't be great in hockey, then don't bother.'." he said and they nodded as they crossed their arms, as he passed them every season rosters. "I never needed more than 17 players under my supervision, but Ted and I know the roster inside and out, we had 6 new players, and Peterson Marks and David Karp come and go."
"But the core of my team, our team, was always the 8, Jesse's brother Terry, the Duncans and the sextet, only 17, for the duration of 9 years and I quit coaching. After you offered me that job, or I got fired from the NCAA for said loan at the time." Gordon said and he read through each year roster leading into then. "So why would he claim you trained him, when we had these, to insure the little brat never lied to us." the board of directors leader said sternly to that news.
"After we destroyed them 3 more times, first was the amount to pay for Adam's sister medical bills, further enforced in medical recovery, the amount. Now, came $195,000 in the 1992 to '93 game season and further forward after we best them out for the position of J.V.. That's what this game season, what we're training for is right now, we're competing for J.V. now. We get it, they wait another year, they get it, we start at the same time: 2 chances." he said and they nodded.
"But in the show, the only team I trained was my current set, but thing of it, is I never had a Darryl Tingman on my team. Just the 17, the 11 were my entire squad from 1992 to 1996, the sextet from '94 to '96 now in truth. The kids were, are, my pride and joy, we knew and know each other all too well, that we know this, Darryl Tingman. He's a Hawk their age, but purple in black form is plum and the white, silver and sky blue stripes gave it away, he's a Hawk here."
"Also, though I had a Dean and Dwayne on my team, the roster was this for the last 5 years." he said, passing them their current team roster with the sextet added to it now. "We never needed to update it, because we never changed, just them in the last 3 years now. And since the JGWG, I never had a Darryl, but Reilly did, Darryl T, is short for Darryl Tingman. His older brother beat the you know out of Guy, during the showdown in slamming him into the boards."
"Hard enough here to nail his spleen." Gordon said and he nodded in shocked fury. "Also, based on tv show characters, that hair style is Jason's character when he was still the green dragon. But my boys kept their hair short and tidy, he looks like a greaser, Charlie is actually what Ted looks like at 14 now, his hair curly, but three shades darker. Then Ted's golden blonde now, I knew my roster, as we never changed it, in 3 years now." he said and the board nodded gently.
"The kids also started talking like us as well, but as Abe Simpson said, what seems cool and hip to the kids of the future, is downright strange and frightening to us and our own. You're the 1930's 40's and 50's, we're 60's and our own babies were 1978 to 1987, so what seems hip. Trendy and tuff, or cool and to our grandchildren, is completely frightening to us, as we never. Now, carried the phone around with us." Orion said and he nodded with a smile at the wording.
"With the last 2 1/2 seasons being, before Jason grew his hair out, and pulled back into a ponytail now, the 16 started calling Adam flyboy, because of his upgrade to the falcon. But we're birds, and their team was a flock, pack, troop or herd, pack mentality. We're 1 mind in 18, or 19, bodies, total pack mind and Charlie is the alpha, wearing or not, only the true alpha. Would catch the opposing team scout in the act, as Reilly's current alpha is the board leader's son."
"Jackson Richard Riley, his older brother is Timothy." he said and they nodded. "But the little brat never considered Charlie could expose this scandal, when Alex now. Is now working for my law firm, but here's where they're really going to get it, but during said grudge match. One of their team shouted out they were going to destroy us, before giving a threat now. After I kept them in by getting their parents to play ball, after the judge said, we sued them at the time."
"They would still find in favor of us." he said and they nodded to the news. "The following 20 years was basically revenge, so though long dead, in Hans and Reilly's cases. Hans and Jan are Ducks, Reilly was a Hawk, T' tried to claim he was trained by me, and altered the look. The diet, the attitude in hockey, and Ted read out the odds, only Charlie went all the way to the pros. But after that kick in the pants, his words' in Fulton's voice, reactivated the me that they know."
"And we called a J.V./Varsity showdown scrimmage practice of our own." he said and they nodded sternly. "But it took a fast switch up, as I had my young puck handler now treating the puck like a plastic short stack now, and a case of exhaustion. A trick play and coaching b…. and praise session, get 3/4's of my side of the team in the room and the truth comes out now. Daryl T, is Darryl Tingman, he's a Hawk, class of 1992 to 1996." he said and they crossed their arms.
"Yes dead man walking, and do you expect us to believe that young man, hmm, do you, after they got the truth out now, and just before they switched coaches. Because Coach Bombay, Coach Orion, gave us the roster, before he left, as they kept their original looks. As Alexandra's adult double said, still rockin the hair, and the stand off, between you and Orion. Is enough to tell us, there is still some bad blood between you." the company rep said to that then sternly.
"Before Coach Cole hears the exchange, when Charlie is 41, and you with him, you little brat." Tibbles said sternly for all of them and he swallowed hard at that. "And though we never sold the team to sell the sport, we're on contract with you guys from now, to 28 years old. As the poster team, we're advertising the gear and clothes, but we're not doing commercials." Guy said and he nodded. "Fair enough and we can agree to that, Guy." Tibbles said and Orion nodded.
"Whatever our careers are, exchanged for what the show will show, Charlie went pro, but we all chose to stay here, but the Coach now, after Reilly, or Tingman, turned us into them. Hated the sport, and refused, till episode 3, to allow hockey in our clubhouse at the time. But you been hoodwinked, till Charlie brings back the evidence necessary to crash the party. But as Charlie said, he created us, that's our version and the Ducklings, and now he's stuck with us here."
"As we teach the kids true Duck hockey and they advance so quickly through the playoffs, that instead of the championships, it's down to a final grudge match. As we win, we take back what rightfully belongs to us, and you finalize it with the courts. As Alex's team switches names and becomes our youngest generation." Connie said and the committee nodded. "The next season has Charlie sending an invitation to his and Gavin's hockey camp." Adam said and he nodded.
"Alternate reality, if I took the job and we sold the team to Hendrix, as the owners of the team, like the second movie specifies here right now. So Seasons 1 and 2, said, if there's medical trouble at the time this happens, but the reason. Now, that Charlie and I never made a come back, during season 2, is because he's just signed off his contract. But the character of Coach Daryl Tingman, becoming known as Coach T, he's a Hawk of Charlie and Adams age group."
"So though 40, he still looks 33 years old." Gordon said and he nodded and wrote it down. "The reason I never made it for the reunion we had planned now, was I just finished my contract. And Gavin and I were planning to invite the youngest version of my team to the hockey camp. I was never mad at Coach Bombay, claiming he abandoned us here, as he left us in good hands. Said being my father now, but I was busy, endorsing the new jerseys that the Ducks are using now."
"My retirement was like dad's, I'm a coach of 5 years in hockey camp, the face of the District 5 Mighty Ducks now for him. Going all the way now, after hearing about this mess in my portion of the dorms right now. I decided enough was enough at camp, these guys, like Tingman, are making a mockery of my team. They're at the camp, that I suggested a fast field trip to my representatives at the JGWG, but I've been coaching for going on 6 years, I'm a skilled coach."
"See the ducklings there, our successors?" Charlie asked and the Disney reps nodded to him at that. "Nice nickname, you're teenage Ducks, they're Ducklings, being pre-season peewees right now, that's cute." the director of their movie said with a chuckle and he nodded. "They're my sister's team, so they're learning what Bombay taught us right now as Ducklings. To put this for better word, at that age to 11, if we were real ducks, we look like them, right now in truth."
"Come here." Charlie said and he looked into his duffle to see Huey curled up in his sweater as he looked up and peeped a 'hello' and they chuckled. "Yeah that's cute, so though looking all cute and cuddly you're dangerous here, like a bunny rabbit." Buckley said with a chuckle and he nodded. "The current Ducks, can see us as we were in our prime, at the GWG, that was our 4th championship at aged 20, for the junior Olympics in truth." he said and they wrote it down.
"Coach Bombay was never disgraced here, he made it clear here, stick to being a lawyer, though being the GWG rep in hockey. But he's not getting into the NCAA college program, and the Ice Palace was our team clubhouse now. In where we went to practice hockey now, as the original Ducks, generations 1 to 5, generation 6. And that's where the show begins now, the Coach, he's training generation after generation, after generation now, in peewee hockey here now."
"While one of the team mothers is the assistant Coach, like my mother is and was, working as the den mother in coaching. Works from home, so we get to see each other all the time, as we helped, for the first 10 to 14 years after leaving him. With the next 2 generations, in training, but decade 1, in that was completed, equalizing the first 2 generations of the team. After we, the Ducks alumni, graduated from college and grad school, as the 16's dreams faded to reality."
"I went all the way and went pro, playing for the professional version of my team, at 34, I retired, and got a job at the Hockey camp now. Under my third mentor, Coach Gavin Cole, after Tingman, Reilly, after we humiliated him one too many times here. Has now dragged our name through the mud, and Alex, married named whatever has to fix it. But the Reunion Gala, as the preppies call it makes a mockery of the team reunions." Charlie said and they nodded sternly.
"But we gave the coach a spare copy of our jerseys, one for each of us, so just in case we had a showdown for our name now, that we see who wears it better. There is a skating rink we train at, so everyone in the state knows we're good, but we play the Maroon Marauders. The Edina Hawks, the Lumberjacks, Hornets, Cardinals, Panthers, Jets, Planes, the Huskies. We're the most well-known from here to St. Paul." he said and they nodded smiling as he went further.
"Being the true leader of the team, I decided now, before we all retired, we're not having our name dragged through the mud here. But the show basically shows what happened if we had allowed ourselves to be bought by a big company, then. Now, in truth, continuing in playing for fun, and it's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game. As we become the very thing we hate: the Hawks." he said and the director, that would be doing the show, nodded.
"The youngest generation, after being cut for Reilly's same reasons, create a team that, basically made clear on their slogan: if you can't be great in hockey, then don't bother. As they used that as their name, before the Coach decided to train them now, as the championship. Once again was down to the true Ducks and the Hawks dressed in Duck jerseys now. As if one of them is injured, it's now a grudge match here, as we passed them these." he said, pointing at his then.
"Returning to the old school design, her son gained my jersey, the white out on my jersey, he gave her son my old jersey, we got 2 copies of each one, number 3. Was the design I endorsed at the pros, but the green one whited out was really, in truth here. My adopted turned real surname, Captain Charlie Orion and now, as a result of her opposing him. On everything, after 2 episodes, what we call the Coach Classic, lead to a huge drama." he said and he nodded sternly.
"What's the Coach Classic?" he asked and Cole crossed his arms. "The campers take the ice, against us, their mentors: the Coaches, in a case of adult/student training matches. For the kids, this was the highlight of the summer, sometimes they get us, sometimes no now. She's a simple peewee coach, a rookie compared to us, veteran Coaches now, we know more. And currently I don't need this right now as my son has a glitch in his shot." he said and he nodded.
"Born 1986 dad, she's no older than Winny, Guys." Charlie said and he nodded. "So give it 26 years, and her son 11 to 13, well now, alright young lady, you ever watch a game of hockey. That yes we do, at times we do get hurt, but some of these guys are sore losers, Tingman there is very sore loser, but just because you won a single season. That doesn't make you a true coach, you have to do this for years, by that time, I been coaching for 30 years now here."
"As such, Gordon's not leaving at all he's still in charge of the Ducklings, which is the peewee form of my version, your kids, after 5 generations. Have a lot to learn you even more so, in there is so much to learn here, even you don't have much of a headstart. In the way of being a Coach, to our players, both generations, they see us as the best coach they ever had. But that's us, our generation was being a natural, a mentor to our players, we focus on everyone now."
"We been doing this so long now, by that point, I've been coaching high school JV varsity for 29 years, right now, while one version of the team hate me. Because to them I'm a drill instructor, the other, that's the Ducks, see me, as the next step up from Gordon. And they all love me right now, but here's where training as a coach comes into it, we never show. To others, favoritism now, because we have sum number cubs we have to look after." Orion said sternly to her then.
"For the one that is said cub to said coach now, we're the one that, now you should pay closer attention to the rest of the team, not just your child now. Just say you came to me for help your berating everyone else for being winning fanatic now. And you start loving winning yourself, you're being a total hypocrite here over that, and two now. Once Gavin comes into the picture, your complaining over everything wrong with hockey camp is wearing so thin he's ready now."
"In truth to kick you out, so he can get some peace, as the kids stay there, to train, as he puts my godson in charge of our new Flock. In which case, if they, several of them, get in over their heads, the coach's got to be the one to bail them out right now. Take your players gambling for instance, what happens if the kids win said game, rather then the coaches. How are they going to pay back that much in candy now?" Gordon said and she swallowed hard, realizing it finally.
"Their parents and I said no gambling, repeatedly, my team understands this, they know better then to start gambling, what if it wasn't just their own candy, your players. But everyone in the camp, what if your player never gained that moving box sized care package. How are they going to get out of this, paying back $3,000 to $10,000 worth of candy?" he asked and she started shaking. "You have to pay attention to what your kids are doing." Cole said sternly to her then.
"You're what, 11 years old right now, young lady?" he asked and she nodded. "That's 1985, she's exactly 11 years old, 26 years, we're 40, she's 37, dad, Coach, Gav." he said and they nodded. "Oh lovely, she's a rookie that has no understanding of being coach, and smothering the kid, because he wants to play against me, his role model." Cole said sternly and he nodded. "In truth we don't need this drama, your son is a burned out me." he said and he nodded sternly.
"And currently here is I'm 25, I've been training hockey potentials for 18 years by then, but you want to be a better player. Then play a better player, us adults, why do they call us coaches, well it's because we're their mentors. We lead and they follow, us male coaches, but if you had a girl rather then a boy and said. Is not an only child, would you be this worried here, young lady, I maybe 14 years older than you, but I'm a parent?" he asked and she swallowed at his remark.
"You're smothering this kid till he says it outright, I'm growing up, now back off and give me some room, watch the rest of the team, give support to Coach Cole's son. He has a glitch in his shot, anything, just give me room here right now." he said sternly and she paled at that. "My first wife does just that and till I came back and now I did, my son knows he can come to me. And for anything, but this Coach Classic is training, it's a training game, preparing for the pros."
"But if you are really more focused on your son, then the rest of your team then you shouldn't really be a coach, no cub gets special treatment by the coach if they're the said's child." Orion said and she swallowed hard at that. "My son told me never mind special treatment, he wants to be treated like the rest of the team, that's fine. As he started under me as I'm their coach, it's not the lineage, but the calls made from day 1 to our first game." he said sternly to her at this.
"I'm not having that argument with you over this, I may not have chosen your son for said slot, but the fact you go to outright coming to me, behind his back. Followed by my son telling your's what you did, you think that's going to go over well right now?" Cole asked her and she blanched at that remark. "This attitude of your's is the reason you're at odds with me at the time, all the time and even your own son had enough of this right now, but I'm a skilled player."
"He's a cub, you just won your first championship, and you're acting all high and mighty about it, well newsflash you won a single season, I trained hundred of young athletes here. What if he talked to me in said draft, just to separate him from you, he has me fix the drafting?" he asked and she flinched at that. "Grow up right now young lady, the anger in him is growing by the minute, and didn't you promise from the second you arrived to give him space right now."
"From the second you arrived, you promised you weren't going to be mommy, and since you, mommy, are not there, you can't prevent him from playing in that game. This is illegal anyway, it's not the parents that have a right to choose in hockey camp, it's our's the coaches. You were simply the coach, now, you're not mom, but the coach, and since you, as mom. Are not there, then you can't prevent him from playing in that game." he said sternly and she jerked at that.
"But coming to me, behind his back, this is enough to clip your wings turning you into the over protective mother everyone wants to get away from here. You ever consider after this game that he reached his limit and decides with the team drafts. He decides to stop being a duck and goes my team designation, your son saw me as the type of father he wants. But your smothering him and till he says it outright, but he's not a baby, you have to stop treating him like one now."
"And frankly I agree with him right now, your son is not a baby, and secondly you spent one winter training under Gordon, this was a practice year. And in the off season, but I'm not constantly arguing with you in how I train my campers. When I sent that offer, I wasn't having you challenge me repeatedly, you're a rookie, I been training hockey player candidates. And for 25 years, my borderline little brother is the son of another." Cole said and she went pale then.
"Your son is not a baby, you have to stop treating him like one, but my kids have been training against pros for years, summer camp in hockey. This Coach Classic, this is the highlight of the summer they look forward to this every year. To show how much they learned, but my godson, he's next in command of coaches at this camp. But you're a young coach, learning from true players and coaches, Coach Charlie Orion, so Coach Orion Jr., but that remark on wrong team."
"The wrong team is going to be Ted's replacement in Peewees later, but that attitude of questioning him on everything. Though we're very good, we retired or became coaches, you have a lot to learn about being a peewee coach and even more now. About dealing with the leader of said hockey camp here when your players are this good. But 1) pay attention to all your players, not just your son, before they get in over their heads now, in something."
"Two) winning isn't everything, you win some and you lose some, the point is it's not whether you or lose, but how you play the game. 3) You want to be a better player, then play a better player and 4) yes this game is dangerous. But this is why, in truth, we take precautions, but are you always going to be this pushy in protecting your team. Making decisions they don't agree with here, or push your opinion, till it estranges you from him." Gordon said and she swallowed.
"Alexandra, that attitude of your's is the reason, I pulled out, if I left and turned my clubhouse for the kids into a skating rink, needing work done on it. But training in the off season, he forgot who you are, and drags up the Hawk version of my team. Been 30 years and you're 45 now, your son is 12 years old, this trying to keep him from playing against Gavin. You think that reaction is going to go over well right now for him?" he asked her and she swallowed hard then.
"But my reactivating our version now of jerseys, and just so you know, want to match the look of my team, look at the helmets." Gordon said sternly and she looked at their old helmets and saw sky blue. "Ducklings on one side, Teenage on the others guys." He called out and the generations separated at that. "Alex watch and learn here, but careful there, if you never watch hockey, how can you learn what it means to be a coach." he said and Orion smiled sternly then.
"Okay Ducklings, scrimmage practice, hey guys, you're Varsity, they're J.V., rock and roll, show me what you can do." he called out and the Ducklings nodded. "I'll take face off here, Coach." Charlie said, and Gordon nodded as his peewee counterpart pulled his helmet on. "Hey, hey, hey, alright guys, break it up over there." Connie called out, as they heard a squabbling match and Russ started laughing. "Right sorry Connie." they heard from 3 girls in peewee training gear.
"Issues in being a babysitter, we're 14 to 15, and this is Karen's team." Charlie said and Gordon nodded smiling then. "Alright Tommy, get ready, once that puck is dropped, remember, we're bigger then you, so with that, if you can't match us physically, duck and swing." he said and Tommy Wilcox nodded smiling as he looked into his eyes, as Orion dropped the puck. And then got out of the way, as Charlie took it and passed it to Jesse, as he suddenly got boweled over.
And by a member of Tommy's team. "Good, remember soft hands, fast reflexes, watch the gaps, watch the gaps." Charlie said laughing as he and the said player got back up and Orion chuckled then and the Ducklings nodded. "Take the shot, DC3 switch 92 on red, Claire!" Tommy shouted out and his version of Connie nodded and dodged Jesse and Averman and scored it as Gordon smiled at the way they tutored Karen's version of the team, as they trained their cub selves.
"Yeah alright that's very good for a first practice kids, nicely done, and that's a sample to what I'm teaching you." Gordon said and the ducklings nodded smiling. "I see why they're so good." Tommy's father said to him smiling. "When your team is co-ed, it's the boys are protecting the girls, and your version has 4 right now, if my sister was still walking." Charlie said and the Ducklings' parents nodded. "Boys, you protect the girls in games." Fulton said and they nodded.
"I know, but the fact remains that lose a game or 2, no big deal, just chalk it up to live and learn here, but it keeps you humble. But games are supposed to be fun, it's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game. But there is no 'if you can't be great at hockey, well then bother', so long as I lead the Ducklings here, we're not for sale." Gordon said and they nodded, as the said Hawks turned Duck player/coach paled, realizing with Gordon training them then.
He was going to destroy him, if there was a power struggle for the team. "Fact of the matter is what we learned, could be seen as hockey martial arts. That we don't go looking for trouble, that's it fine to defend yourselves here right now. But the way of the Duck is exactly as Miyagi specified, but we're the rivals of the Cobra Kai hockey Dojo. We've beaten them repeatedly, but this is acting as the trilogy, we come home and face off against them." Charlie said to her then.
"Yes, yes we know that, and we appreciate you taking our feelings into account by getting someone, now, to protect the girls, Gordon." One of Karen's friend's parents said and he nodded and Charlie nodded as he looked at his sister's friends smiling. "But as it is, the Hawks never bothered training the next generation in helping to train them. But we're your basic teenagers, acting babysitter, in training, that we love our surrogate siblings, want them to be the best."
"And this is one way to stay in touch, on Saturdays, we help train the J.V. Ducks, as we train during the school season. "Charlie said and Gordon nodded smiling. "Yeah, but guys, I'm making 3 rules, but 1), your grades, it's B's or better to play. 2) Stay clean and training, start with that junk and no training, and ease back in the sweets and Soda. And 3) I will not tolerate the use of profanity on the team, but we win as a team, we lose as one, okay." he said and they nodded.
"Yes Coach." they all said together gently as the Varsity Ducks stood next to Orion, Charlie leaning against his shoulder, then smiling, as they looked at their young successors then. "Are you always this stern with your team, with Coach Orion being your co-coach?" she asked and he nodded. "The road not taken is a powerful thing here, if I never took that job, that show never comes true and we lose contact with each other, me to my team." he said and Alex swallowed.
"Are you questioning my coaching young lady, in the way we do this, because I warn you now, as the years go by, to me, I decided no, I'm not taking that job offer. Michelle and I are being the partners of Jan, creating a perfect clubhouse for the kids, both age groups. Leading into generations 3 to 6, when you come to me over coaching your son. That-that's not going to go over well, you're 11 years old, I been coaching for 30 years." he asked and she started shaking.
"To repeat this, before Gav' calls the Coach, after first whoever it is, now his son and your's in that practice game, after hearing about you and Gav' going at it repeatedly. But you know, I am so sick and tired of hearing about your and Gav's boring little mini dramas. I'm going to start tearing out my fingernails to get some relief, just get over it Alex, deal with this." Charlie said sternly and she flinched at that and Gordon crossed his arms as Charlie leaned on his shoulder.
"Your coaching skills leaves a lot to be desired, young lady, but that Coach/camper game is a training game here, how soon before Charlie says it for both of them, 'you know. I am so sick and tired of hearing you complain about everything wrong here at this camp. You think you can do better as the head coach of the center, you got the job.' he says, tossing his whistle at you. So now what, you finally alienated everyone from coaches to players training there right now."
"And till they all had it with you, you think you can be the new leader of the Ducks, you think you can train the kids better, you ever play hockey?" Gordon asked her sternly at this and she went pale at his remark. "To answer your question we are, we deal with kids day in and day out, but exercising the father in us, Charlie's reached the age where it's critical." he said and she nodded. "Yeah now you done it lady, you really done it." Fulton said sternly and she swallowed.
"Hey guys, team reunions of us original Ducks, that's 26 years and we're 40 to 41." Charlie said and they nodded smiling. "Yeah that's our third 10th year reunion after we all retired, though you went all the way, my brother, you may not be at the reunion at Jans's skating rink. But we know you'd come if you had the chance to." Connie said smiling and he nodded. "Just imagine the exchange after this catch comes into it and Gavin offers." Adam said and he nodded gently.
"Tell me about it, I saw the pictures of the 11 of you on the wall in your office, before the one that was the predecessor to the ones that are now making a mockery of your team name. But at 40 years old, you look like your double now, you're dressed in your college to pro style jersey." Cole said and Orion smiled. "The one that became my version at the academy, yeah I know, but that's the one you wear and are hanging the second on the wall." he said smiling then at that.
"You're both North Stars here, I followed you and became the Coach that she's berating, give me a break, look lady, this is not some backyard on the pond playing ice hockey. This is real smash-mouth hockey, the game gets brutal we all know that, but hearing the complaining. As I just happened to be in the cafeteria now, for your information, one of said injuries now. It cost my godfather his chance at making it to the pros." Charlie said, calling out and she froze at that.
And turned to look at him. "Who…, who is your godfather?" she asked, shaking and he crossed his arms. "The man you turned to for help, in making the team name great again: Coach Gordon Bombay." he said and she jerked at that in shock. "De age me 26 years Madam, you saw the team picture on the wall in his office at the ice palace. That was our clubhouse for practice after the committee turned us into a power house, destroying us." he said and she went white in fear.
"I'm the leader of the original Ducks, you met my friends, my brothers and sister, but Connie Germaine nee' Monroe, Guy Germaine, Adam Banks, Lester Averman. And Fulton Reed, I am number 6, of the Minneapolis Ducks, but the rest of us of the Minneapolis Ducks. Said are the Halls, the Duncans and Greg Goldberg, while the 10 retired, I went all the way. Before retiring and decided to start training hockey players your version's age." he said and she swallowed.
"I'll handle this, Gavin, her insulting you, my third mentor, is not going down unpunished, after the disaster zone I found in her players bedroom. We got a case of gambling and one that one of her kids had to get the trio out of by his moving sized box care package. But I just laid into the trio for that right now." he said and she paled, realizing she hadn't been paying attention to her version of the Ducks then. "Excuse me?" she asked and he crossed his arms then sternly then.
"You mean they never told you young lady, Charlie and I went to check on why the heck is there a stampede at that bedroom door. There was a constant pile up of kids at that door. I was hearing shouting of, 'Hey the kids won the game. We want our candy back, open up, pay up guys, pay up' and the door was shut. Until the door opened and I saw a look of relief on their faces, and I dragged your players to Charlie's office." Jenkins said and she swallowed hard then.
"Who…, who are you exactly?" she asked in fear and he nodded sternly. "Eric Jenkins, I was their driver through out their entire careers, leading into college, friend of the family and team. Rather then separating fully, I decided to come with Charlie, that's why I'm here, but I'm no older then their parents, 65 years old, their parents are 60, and Coach Cole is 55, you're 45. But the point is your gross neglect nearly caused a lynching here." he said and she went white then.
And at that remark, realizing she never paid attention then to this information. "How many kids exactly?" she asked, shaking in fear. "That's 300 cubs, in a constant pile up at the door, seeing the look on the owner of the moving box sized care package. I realized everything they ate was a replicate to what was inside the box, they gambled and lost the bet, our students won." Charlie said and Cole nodded. "The entire camp?!" Cole said sternly and he nodded as he said it.
"The game may have gotten called on an another injury, after you knocked him into the wall, but the kids still won against us, so this results in them realizing how screwed they are." Charlie said sternly at this and he nodded sternly at that. "They ate the entire pot, not realizing how good the cubs really are after 5 years training by us. Ted, Gordon and I said, time and time again, never count your eggs, before they hatch!" he said and she swallowed hard at that news.
"Yeah the entire camp, they gambled away and before the game ate the goods, only their brother's package saved their buts, while she's hassling you over the game. This conversation dragged up as she's the new leader of my team when I was still a peewee hockey player. And 3/4's of my team are still living in Minnesota right now." Charlie said and he nodded. "Three…, 3/4's, do you mean your original team or the sextet?" he asked and he smiled at him gently.
"We're 17, instead of that mockery of a reunion, the team is calling it's 3rd decade team reunion here, remember Gavin, we came to Hollywood to play for the gold." he said and he nodded, smiling. "Yeah I remember perfectly here right now, but hey, like I said, want to be a better player you got to play a better player, but looks like the Original Ducks now got to corral them. Said their hatchlings and before these said hatchlings get in over their heads here, right now."
"But if you want to lay the boom, then by all means right now, I'm getting Ted on the line, he does 13 to senior in high school. It's because of him and Gordon you became this good, but summer break, then these kids. Said are facing 3/4's of their predecessors, plus my counterpart, your father, who is also Gordon's age. For something your parents told you, time and time again never to do, because that's prohibited." he said and Charlie nodded and she swallowed hard.
