D3: The Mighty Ducks Re-Imagined
Warnings: For this chapter we get a said single scene in training, before the term starts, as they quickly bond to Orion. And then Orion gets said phone call from Casey's twin brother on Peter and Karp. And what they did this time to get put under his supervision at the school. This is going to be a re-imagining of D3: the Mighty Ducks as Charlie meets Orion at the start of the summer, as their lives are fused together.
As they prepare for what their future brings now, and as Charlie learns the truth that their new coach is friend of their current's. And with it, that Orion is his real father and he has a life outside of the team. This is also going to leave out the tv show, so an alternate reality story. But the other clip to this is going to show a few situations of Orion's coming into the picture, just before Charlie chose him as their back up coach.
Disclaimers: The Mighty Ducks don't belong to me, the story belongs to me, everything else belongs to the disney company.
Chapter 13: Training Begins And A Fresh Beginning VII
"Yeah, but Alex, what do you know about coaching hmm, I been coaching here for 10 years, since I retired from the pros, my father has been coaching for 31 years. That I was his next team incoming, that I wanted to play for my father from the time I was 11. And I get my wish, from 14 to 18, I had a good 12 to 17 years playing hockey, and retired at 35. Been working here for 5 years, my campers love me, at least I listen." Charlie said sternly and she swallowed hard.
"Who are you?" she asked and he crossed his arms. "Coach Charlie Orion, your son, from Bombay's reveal to me, is wearing my original jersey, the white out, from Conway to Orion. I'm Orion/Conway, Captain, now Coach, Orion/Conway, the leader of the Mighty Ducks. Said name you're making a mockery of, but the den mother never smothers her ducklings. And your players are ducklings, they're 11 to 13, where are you, Coach." he said and she went white.
"You three get in here now." he shouted sternly and the trio quickly moved forward at that. "You see these three, they not only gambled away their care packages, they did everyone else's. And before considering the players might just win that game, they ate the entire pot, son." he said and a fourth came forward. "And sacrificing his care package from his family, he bailed the trio's buts out, as they gave the players back their candy." he said and she swallowed hard at that.
"Let this be a warning you three, never count your ducklings, before they hatch, but I ever catch you in pulling this stunt again, you're going home, is that clear?" he asked and they nodded. "Yeah that's the understatement of the century, we said this time and time again, no gambling right now, that's strictly forbidden. So where were you Coach, to control your players, oh I know, you're hassling me right now, over how bad it is here." Cole said sternly to her then.
And she started shaking, in realizing how bad this looked now, she failed as a coach, and was now being ridiculed for not paying closer attention to her players. "Mom, this is why I was so ticked, I am not the only player on this team, pay attention to the others. Before they get themselves killed here, in a loan shark situation." A 5 year old said, imitating her son and she swallowed hard at that, but before she could answer, the phone went off at that in response.
"Brnng, brnng!" Jesse said, imitating the phone and Charlie pretended to grab it then, before smiling at hearing his voice. "Yeah, oh hey Coach, yeah I miss you too Coach, yeah this whole Gala is making a mockery of our name. Yeah to you, I was your listening ear for years I may have grown up, but that never changed things. But Karen, Winny, this is in truth now, I know you blame Tingman for dragging our name through the mud, that will not go unpunished now."
"What happened to us, answer allowing the rep to get his way, we start back at the most pure, we return to who we are. Yeah, I know, Coach, yeah, her attitude crossed the line right now, uh huh, yeah I know, well with you stuck at home. And till game season starts, send my best to the quintet, oh hey Connie, Adam, Guys. Yeah same problems, we got a rookie playing with the big boys, I'll explain that later, but to be blunt we had a near lynching mob here in gambling, why?"
"Seems her own players counted their ducklings before they hatched, what happened, I found candy wrappers all over the duo's bedroom right now. They did, they ate the pot, before the game and their team mate bailed them out by a moving boxed sized care package. Case in point, let this be a lesson in the dangers of gambling, I know, you told us time and time again. No gambling, and before your luck runs out, why didn't she know this, bro, well reason is here."
"Because she was more focused in keeping her son out of the coach/player game, the one we did every year.., yeah the Coach Classic, Gavin, he dropped the bomb on me. But she's got her son so irked at her, for her smothering him, that he said it finally, he's not a baby. Yeah, so stop treating him like one in truth, I know mom never did it with me, we were never so cautious. Our parents never minded, you encouraged it Uncle Gordon, you want to be a better player now."
"Well then best play a better player, yeah exactly, but her attitude is wearing thin here now, but Gavin is just like dad, uh huh, yeah exactly, are any of you up to coming up to help here. I could use a bit of help in dealing with our team successors, now that Karen's team also just retired. And from the field, or hockey rink." he said and chuckled. "Yeah I maybe a retired hockey player, but my name is still a legend, just like you and dad now Coach, yeah I love you too, Coach."
"Yeah, yeah I miss you guys alot Connie, being here in Anaheim, it's lonely, I miss my flock, we flew together for years, only now, since I retired from pro hockey, Lin and I talked it over. We're coming home before the term starts again, yeah we are, I promise, us Ducks are back. As the original Ducks, but we got to corral these guys, before they get in over their heads. I know, being a pack animal, lonely, you're my original flock, want to go home, you are, that's great."
"Alright I'll see you guys tomorrow, yeah I love you too man, I love you Connie, see you then." he said and pretending to put the phone up. "Karen, Winny?" She asked shaking and he nodded. "My sister and Adam's sister, when we were kids, we did fundraisers for charity now, the Board has turned us into the Hawks now, it was my idea to make us great. Ducksworth, the firm that gives back to the community, and instead the Board turned us into a mockery of ourselves now."
"In time every child forgot who we truly are, what we represent, the good in a community, we didn't care for winning, it's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game" he said and she swallowed hard at his declaration then. "What was that about, Coach?" the 5 year old asked and he smiled gently. "I was telling him I know how he feels after Hendrix turned us into the very thing we hated the most, the Hawks, we become, since we graduated from college now."
"The very thing we hated, winning is nothing, we spent 14 years raising money for charity, every year the same thing, and your counterpart coach turned us into scandal now. As it's not whether you or lose, but how you play now, Bombay, by giving you our jerseys is trying. Now, to bring us back to who we truly are, and you're not controlling your players, well if you can't control them. The kids, looks like I have to, all of you on the ice!" he shouted as he blew his whistle at that.
And they quickly headed out there at that. "You three for that stunt, you're doing 30 laps, and be thankful I'm not calling more, because you're under probation for this stunt now." he said and they swallowed hard. "The rest of you 15 laps with Eric out of commission after breaking his leg, that's not a problem because my team are arriving. And to help for the rest of the summer, but they're not amused at this behavior, shape up or ship out." he said and they nodded quickly.
"Before the conversation veered into what's going on up here, since we changed back into our original form." he said and he and Cole nodded. "We got the rest of your team showing up, Charlie?" Cole asked, knowing what was said on the other end of the line. "Yeah, the other half of my team in Minneapolis is coming by to control your's, before they get in over their heads. And for a second time, as you met the sextet, the rest of my team are coming tomorrow now."
"That last remark was really meaning we're family, Ducks fly together forever, currently I'm separated from my flock, so instead of me coming to them, they come to me." he said and she swallowed hard. "Along with the current adult leader of the teenage flock." Orion said sternly, walking in the door then. "Uh oh." they heard from a group of 8 years old on the stands. "Yeah uh oh, nice timing dad, Alex this is Coach Orion Sr., my father." he said and she swallowed hard.
"Grandpa!" an 9 year old boy said and Orion smiled at the boy. "Hey son, missed you too buddy." he said and the boy smiled and gave him a hug. "That's your son?!" she said in shock and Charlie nodded sternly. "Yeah, from dad to me, me to Teddy, I named him Theodore Gordon Orion, he's a cub hockey player here, and a darn good one as well. But like he said now, maybe you should pay closer attention to your players, less on your son." he said and she flinched then.
"I heard that entire thing on gambling son, are you out of your mind young lady, out of city trips the kids are your sole responsibility, you are so lucky. That kid had that box, or they're getting drawn and quartered!" Orion said sternly at that and she started shaking in fear. "Pay closer attention here right now, before they get in over their heads a second time." he said and they ended it. "Nice wording, you go all the way and you choose us." Fulton said smiling gently then.
"Yeah Anaheim is not home, my place is here, retirement after 15 years playing pro hockey, I followed in dad's footsteps and made a name for myself. But leader of the Minneapolis Mighty Ducks, the Eden Hall Mighty Ducks, 18 years leading us to victory. Time for retirement, as I train young hockey players, keeping to what the duo taught us from the time we were 10." Charlie said and the 10 nodded smiling as they looked at him with love then and she swallowed hard.
"You're that good Charlie?" she asked and he nodded. "Been playing since I was 9, like my dad, his training turned me into this, a skilled hockey player. But while the others retired after college, I went all the way, but joined the Anaheim version to my team. But not the same feel, not at all, my real flock is the 16, with the sextet involved, along with dad and Uncle Gordon." he said and she nodded shaking. "Still use the nickname version?" she asked and he nodded.
"Yeah everyone I love calls me by my nickname, my wife is here right now, but I married my high school sweetheart, I retired 5 years ago, I have three kids. And I'm a skilled coach, training my hatchlings and duckling here." he said and she swallowed hard. "Point made young lady, he's turned into a younger version of Ted and me, and became a skilled coach after 5 years. But you have a lot to learn about being a coach, and this trip out of town is a case in point here now."
"Why do you think I pulled out after winning, I tried in the whatever, but they saw that immediately a trip back to my hometown, and I reunite with my young ducks. As they tell me Charlie is a coach working at said camp now and I decide to make contact. And with my captain of the team, knowing my godson is retired and training young hockey players. Just like his dad now, and I know he's just like us, followed our example, but your team are rookies here."
"Your version are the next generation of our team, young lady, but if you need me to be co coach, then understand I have had years of experience training ducklings. As my star players are grown ducks now, and Gavin's an old friend of me and Ted now. These guys, my current, are my ducklings, currently they just hatched and in two years start growing their wings in." Gordon said and Connie and the quartet crossed their arms sternly at that and she swallowed hard.
"Alex, that's my girlfriend, Linda Anderson." he said and she looked up to see a young girl no older than him sitting next to a mousy brown one. "But 5 years down the line, I'm basically Jason if he and Amy stayed together, but there is no where, as long as she's there for me. But where she goes I follow, but at times right now, and I'm being honest, we got trouble. That the internal mental debate gets started with color troubles, because we been only two colors now."
"As such the sextet you met at the time, along with my two GWG Ducks are Connie Monroe, married name of Germaine, Guy Germaine, Lester Averman. Adam Banks, Kenny Wu, Dean Portman and Fulton Reed, the sextet are Charlie Orion, Jesse and Terry Hall. Tammy and Tommy Duncan, Julie Gaffney, Luis Mendoza, Dwayne Robertson, Russ Tyler and Greg Goldberg. But these guys are my ducklings, my players just hatched, in a couple years they grow their wings."
"While my current team just made J.V. and are playing for my counterpart Coach, as such, I start the next generation of my team, but my current team. They're first generation Ducks, this is generation too right now of my team, but Ducksworth and Hendrix. They're sharing in being the sponsors, while Ducksworth sponsors the Ducklings, Hendrix. They got the Varsity Ducks, and said Ducks get a paycheck as they got a part time job now, but my team is not for sale."
"And upon entering high school to college, my ducklings are all grown up, I spent 3 good years with the team I enjoyed every minute of it. But time to let go, and pass them to my counterpart coach, Coach Orion, I had 3 years, he had 8." he said and she sighed. "At the moment my hometown flock is still growing their wings in, at times still act like chuckling, but as my captain said, still ducklings with his father right now, though teenage." Gordon said to her gently to this.
"Peep peep?" Charlie said to him and he smiled. "Quack quack." he said in response and the quintet hid a chuckle. "Issues in the social skills, but like whatever he said, that's the only way the kids can communicate if they were real ducks, said peeps, though we say quack." Cole said with a chuckle at that and the team chuckled. "Yep and hearing that constantly, we're asking for a wing fight now if one of these jokers antagonizes Connie next." Gordon said with a laugh then.
"That's my little girl though, I know what type of temper she has though, so test her you're asking for the beat down from heck here." he added and she smiled at as she leaned against him. "Love you too Coach." she said and he hugged her tightly. "I been around them so long I know how to act like a parent with my students, but on out of town trips. The kids are your responsibility, so you need to pay attention to your players." he said and she flinched at that.
"Asking for trouble now that we added our new sum?" Guy said and he nodded. "They keep it up in taking the hotheads words at face value, I will, but again what I do, in my personal life. Is no concern of your's okay, guys." he said and they nodded to him. "We know, but we learned our lesson and that was a test that year, and said black jersey assistant coach is a woman?" Connie said and he nodded in agreement. "You're my ducklings though." he said and they smiled then.
"As you talk some sense into me and we're back in working order, as we do a fast status check, but I find a broken piece of furniture or your father does, Charlie. Said hothead is asking for the reprimand from heck along with the P.T. session from even deeper into heck." he said and Jesse covered his eyes. "Nice save, Coach, after our parents let us have it, but like he said, are there any other choice phrases in anger you'd like to teach us?" Terry said and they started laughing.
"You been listening to both me and Ted way too much anyway Terry, but unlike those losers, I call you by name and I'm the only one that actually got actively involved. In your lives right now, like the girl said, nobody ever took them to this department's uniform store. To get them while in the case of these losers, nobody had the time nor patience to put you in basic training. To make you this good, but I got you through basic, Ted advanced, that's us now finally."
"But sources say that I've taken an active interest in your lives and this team has finally found it's niche, they're keeping me on permanently now." he said and they nodded. "And to repeat this, Peter's life, is not that interesting, he's a trouble maker with no future here. But frankly I am so sick and tired of his trying to always keep the attention on him. I'm going to start tearing my hair out to get some relief, get over it man, deal with this!" he said and Cole looked up then.
"Uh oh." Connie said to that and he nodded sternly. "Yeah uh oh, I didn't arrange this so I get all the attention, I did it so we can keep playing, before getting the added truth. On the Banks's medical situation here, I'm selfless I only care about others, so grow up." he said and Peter swallowed hard. "Before that nearly kills you in the process kiddo, but you, young man, are not the leader of this team, Charlie is, the 10 had the life scared out of them, us, your parents now."
"Included right now, that winter, but that injury, that emotional injury is going to take time, but that scar is reminder of why we hate the Hawks so much." Orion said and he swallowed hard, as Connie wrapped her arm around Charlie's back, as Gordon smiled gently. "But in this case right now, it's case of practice 4 times a week, study period also 4 times. And scrimmage games every Friday in between games, that's the peewees, our style." he said and Cole nodded gently.
"Yeah your father and godfather are 60, I'm 55 and you're 40 cubs, things never changed, but stayed strong between us. But the said mother my age or a little younger, she's asking for that debate repeatedly, but this. This is ridiculous, we get injured repeatedly, but that's not stopping us from playing at the moment, you knew that. You're like us, but this is what true hockey really is, if you decided to do hockey camp at your age current, I do the next stage up right now."
"With my luck, she's one of your brother's age group Adam, that's true here and we got problems right now. I knew you guys all your lives, that to me. This is a constant source of aggravation right now, this is not peewee hockey, but high school to college. Game gets more brutal, but want to be a better player, you got to play against one, but Coach Orion now. Doesn't tolerate gambling and frankly neither do I, so put that away." he said and they started laughing.
"That's Orion Jr., not Sr., but yeah, I don't tolerate gambling and take it easy on the stimulates, and stay from the toxic chemicals, but kids really, you honestly think. That you're not getting out of this unscathed, I said I don't know how many times. Gambling is prohibited here at the camp, but I hope you have enough pocket money to pay everyone back. Because that's $30,000 in candy from 200 campers, and you ate the odds, who's bright idea was this exactly, hmm."
"But you guys are big trouble here right now, but my father, Coach Orion Sr., said this time and time again, never, ever, count your ducklings. And before they hatch and you not only never did that, you also ate the pot, so tell me. Just how are you going to pay the entire camp back for this exactly." Charlie said and he started laughing at that. "Yeah Junior, you're Coach Orion Jr. and I'm Sr., but it's now my words in your voice, son." Orion said smiling at his remark then.
"I got to see this, as they see me there with you, as they realize I'm working as one of the coaches, as whoever it is now realizes. The leader of the team is now a retired NHL himself, and training young hockey players, I'm 40 years old. And you're 55, and your son, I have to get through to, before we have you guys arguing why her son shouldn't be playing. But my young Ducks now, that 10 to 1 odds in gambling their candy away?" Charlie said and the man nodded.
As he started laughing. "And we told you, time and time again, no gambling with the goods, from other campers here, young man. As what if they eat the poker chips and now have no way to pay the camp back." Gordon said laughing at that remark and he nodded. "God you guys come on, I know you think you're going to win, but you're 12, nearly 13. But if I'm there at the coaches side, you're asking for a case of hit and run in losing the pot." he said smiling at that.
"With us, it's one thing, the candy is fun size bars, but the full size, you don't win and you're dealing with a loan shark. That the parents are wondering 'alright how could you go through your candy care package that fast exactly?!" Adam said laughing and Connie lowered her head as Jesse started laughing at that. "And you know your parents and I said that repeatedly, careful here, before you gamble away your entire winnings here." Gordon said smiling at that remark.
"Yeah been together so long we learned well, but there it is, a Duck never fights if they can not win, so never count your ducklings, before they hatch." Connie said and he chuckled. "That's chickens, but with you ducklings, yeah they're young ducklings and they never considered. What if they don't win, but we do, as coaches and skilled players, they don't win in truth. The campers are not going to like this, I know that and you know that." Cole said with a gentle smile at that.
"Bet she never sees that coming you know us, because you been training us, since we were this age, but Guy, Fulton, Adam, Les' and me, of the 11 of us and our new sum. As you tell her change helmet colors, sky blue, not gold." she said and he chuckled and nodded. "No kidding, if she hears that, she's going to realize you know what this is, because I was one of 3. That knew Gordon and you personally, while Ted is your captain's father." he said and Gordon chuckled.
"If you're that much like Ted, I see why your version, that's the peewee league is getting annoyed, you and Ted are the same man. And you're both 8th grade, borderline high school age coaches, but this is training, the older you get the more brutal this game gets, we should know." he said and Cole nodded. "That's just the problem, look lady, I get your annoyances, but this is not some backyard style hockey game, it's borderline college now." he said sternly to this then.
"By then I'm a retired player kiddo, but you knew this for years, that my age, dealing with campers in this, if I decide to switch back. It's this is a case of you knowing playing against us, yeah it's dangerous, but at the same time here. You look forward to that game, as you put your training to use, highlight of the summer like you said to Marks now. As you prove how much you learned from us now." he said and the 11 nodded smiling and Orion smiled at the remark then.
"Yeah you taught us well, we love training with you, and we look forward to that summer game every year, but you're like us, you're like my father. But she needs to understand, yeah it's dangerous, but this game is like the color wars here, scrimmages games. They're meant for this reason, war games, color wars, this coach/camper game, all training." he said and the man nodded in agreement as he exchanged smiles with Orion at his eagerness to learn from them.
"You kids understand this, been training under us for years, but the game is dangerous, we all know this, but with girls on the team, the wear and tear has a father worried. But don't worry son, we're coming to watch your games, so we can do a filler here on this. But this is your first lesson in blue collar hockey, but these guys are vultures around the net. Picking up every piece of loose trash, that's how they beat you, not with the first, but with the second, the third."
"They really bang in the junk, so you want to win, you have to pick up the trash, fast practice, before you see us in action tonight, guys?" he asked, as their goalie also came to join in then and they grinned as they pulled their jerseys on and as they started. "Who's that, who's that, come on, try and take me, come on." Orion said as he swung around and Charlie dodged and it shot it and scored. "Yeah there we go, nice work son." he said smiling at that response then.
'Nothing like training by the pros, my son is a pro player in training as is Adam, our star players here now.' Orion thought, smiling at the way the team took to his training that fast. 'Never seen him so happy, my baby boy.' he thought gently, looking at his 14 year old son gently, knowing watching his friends in action was going to work now, as he had them in training. And for the playoffs, knowing this was going to help out as he prepared for when they started the season.
"Ted, Gordon, I bought a skating rink, like the ice palace, and took out a secondary business loan, that's the official home of the Minneapolis Mighty Ducks." Jan said and they nodded then. "Then whatever food sponsors that we get, dish up there at the ice palace, we're a normal ice rink, selling your basic foods, and that's our club house. And for training starting now, if Wilson starts acting like Reilly, during the showdown." Orion said to that and Gordon nodded, smiling.
"The show, if they create one, shows alternate universe, and what happens if we had said that, we're a first generation team, but 25 to 29 years now, you chose to stay away permanently. Because the Ice palace is sum years old, she's our special place, to just be us, as hockey, as Charlie would say, is what we do, not who we are now. She's our home away from home, our club house, our training arena." Connie said and Charlie nodded in agreement to that remark.
"Yeah that and both of you made such a difference in our lives, look at the difference now, hey if you guys create that tv show, then I want you to have our doubles. Now quoting this exactly, in Emilio's case with him playing the Coach, Fulton, you first buddy." he said and Fulton nodded gently as Charlie wrote down what he wanted to say then. "It's okay, but it's you wanna talk Duck spirit, there's only one person worth mentioning here, this guy, he found me in an alley."
"My shot become so widely known, I, after meeting my fellow bash brother, became a living hockey legend, who gave me that, it was Coach Bombay. I owe him everything, he gave me a future, and friends and a way to fly now, I'm a Duck now, but back then I was a duckling. My wing was a little out of whack till he repaired that and my shot was my signature move." he said and Adam nodded smiled, remembering when he started out, as he looked at the bookies then.
Before Charlie passed him his own then and he read it and smiled gently. 'Yeah that attitude at the reunion for show, a swift kick in the pants, before giving him his own memory. But what 30 years together does for you, we're adults Ducks yeah, but we still feel like ducklings. We belong to him, though we love Uncle Ted, Charlie was right, Bombay created us, and now he's stuck with us.' he thought hiding a smile as he gave his declaration then as he made it clear then.
"Hi, you know me, Adam Banks, and he saw my potential and he gave me a shot, when I was a kid, back then, I, before joining the Ducks, was a Hawk. Okay, so before I left the Hawks and became a Duck, I kinda sucked as a human, but I would have fit right in here, though." he said and their fans chuckled then. "Anyway.., but when I started playing for this guy, I wanted to be a better person, do the right thing, and here I am." he said and Connie went next at that gently.
As they looked at Gordon with love and he smiled with the love of a proud parent, knowing he changed them as much as they did him, as she looked into his eyes. "Back when we were 10, our team was a bunch of forgotten nobodies, but Coach Bombay. He made us into champions, because he taught us it wasn't about the win, that's right. Cardboard cut-out guy, it was about everything else, the fun, the heart, the team: Ducks fly together." she said smiling then gently.
"This is from our Captain of the team, Charlie Orion, card-board cut out guy, you listening to this." Adam said and Tingman swallowed hard. "Hi everyone, sorry I couldn't make it tonight, but I would like to say this on that gala, but when we started out, we were nobodies. The best team of the league saw us as clowns, jokers, losers, till we met this man, in one season. He made us winners, champions, and we carried that with us in the years ahead now here."
"Though we grew up and dreams faded to reality, every time we get on the ice now, we spread our wings, who taught us to fly now, it was Coach Bombay. No matter how old we get, we're still his ducklings, his players and we love him, he's our Coach, forever. And while we had two great Coaches in our early years from 9 to college now and grad school. It's that the one that started us, the man that you have shamed by these actions, is the man that deserves this award now."
"Is Coach Bombay, a shadow of the man he once was, will he return and make us great again, only he can answer that and I know what the answer will be. Not long after starting under my father, the changes were a bit much, and dealing with the Varsity. And my rival of the captaincy, not Adam, but Peter Marks was not helping my mood, and neither was having my wings clipped. Before crashing into the lake, who came back to talk some sense into me, so I can return to it."
"It's the true Coach and leader of the Ducks, I owe him everything, and once again, I will come back, return to my hometown flock and take my youngest captain through training. Always remember, it's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game now. It's not the trophy, the championships, or the gold medals that make this name worth living now. It's the love of the game, the heart, and the team, who taught me that, it's Coach Bombay now, my godfather."
"But Coach, don't worry, during the next Don't Bothers practice I'm there, along with the rest of our quartet, I promise. And as we show them, whoever turned us into this now, the heart of the true Mighty Ducks and get our title back now, as who we are. I love you Coach, your Captain of the team, Charlie." Adam read and the rep wrote it down as Orion smiled gently at that remark as Gordon felt his heart warm at the love in his tone as he nodded smiling then gently at that.
"But the reason I couldn't make it, is because I was endorsing the school's updated symbol as the team mascot in Anaheim. I'm coming back to visit, with the rest of the team, so we, the Minneapolis Mighty Ducks return. We show you what it means to be a real Duck, whoever you are Darryl, and we will find out, as your reaction at the showdown. Shows only one person and one person only, our grandparents age group, long dead now." he added and Gordon nodded.
"Hans's age group, our grandparents, are gone, but he was a Duck, Reilly is a Hawk, as the Coach once said, to think we wasted all those years, worrying about what he thought of us. But problem is he was the coach for what we called preppies, Edina is the rich side of Minneapolis. Which is what Adam meant, when he started out, he was a jerk, till he crashed in the lake, and was reborn a Duck, he became a good person, once he left the Hawks, a friend and brother."
"The preppies, are what you are people, rich families, but at the kids current age, it's you want a chance at a future, in 3 to 4 years. You have to win every game, straight A's in every class, that's how we got into Eden Hall academy. Our first one, the second, into college, Athletic scholarships only last as long as the board decides to renew them. But you get in trouble, it's bye bye scholarship, you have to work your way through school." he said then and Alex smiled.
"Our Successors are exactly as what we are, low income families now, single rich family or 2, are the new arrivals with the best skills of the team. One is a young Dwayne Robertson, the other a female version to Adam Banks, but we decided. We did everything together: train, live and have lunch together, our practice was 3 times a week. Just who created that schedule, and got us said tutor, it was Coach Bombay, he made us better people, keeping us out of trouble."
"But you ever consider were it not for us selling the team to create this power house, he would not be gone and forgotten?" he asked and every family in the power house exchanged shocked looks. "That was our fatal mistake, selling the team to sell the sport now, if we kept our club, and created a club house, say the Ice palace, home of the Ducks. This character, would not be the one getting award, but it goes to Coach Bombay, if he never left at all right now in truth."
"Single sponsored, but decided we're not for sell, the Ice Palace is our clubhouse, but a single choice in high school lead to this. The road not taken is a powerful thing now, that different fork in the road is he decided not to take the offer. Became the co-owner of the Ice Palace, and stayed a peewee coach, every summer and Christmas. It's we got to see him, and our team stayed strong, before Reilly, reincarnated, destroyed us." he said and Adam nodded sternly.
As Charlie finished that, as he and the 10 appeared sternly. "But as that was a mistake, if we deactivated our name after my sister's team started. This gala would not be here now, as such, the road not taken is a very powerful thing now. And one being dragged under the spotlight now, so Darryl care to tell the truth to who you really are. Because it's funny, I checked the logs from 1992 to 2006, and funny, there is no you in the roster." he said and the man paled at that.
"The evidence is right here, who amongst you was there for the entirety, from the time of our conception to our graduation from high school?" he asked and 30 people held up their hands then. "Well how many members were there from start to finish?" he asked and they froze up, realizing the direction this was heading. "It was 14 to 17, for 9 years!" one of them said and he nodded. "And aside from Marks and Karp, was there a #25 Tingman?" he asked and he paled.
"Another thing to consider was after we retired from peewees we were a high school team under Coach Ted Orion and at the time here. And Coach Bombay retired from coaching and was on the committee at the Junior Goodwill Games. So doesn't it seem strange to anyone in knowing this, that how could he, as he's looking no older. Then our sister Karen, be a Duck, when Bombay retired from it, from coaching, the team was deactivated in peewees and we're a school team."
"Our inspiration is the book series starring Emilio Estevez, but we love that book series, we talk like our parents, tuff looking injury, we're molting, we're fluffed. And here's another to thing to consider, our age group at 11 years grew up with a tv show. And he still has his hair looking like that, our version calls that actor, as character name of secondary nickname. Of Flyboy, so where did this style get started with, could be his original alias, his nickname." Guy said to them then.
"Then who is he?" Alex's counterpart asked and they smiled. "What is the darkest shade of purple there is, bordering on black, and your stripes gave it away." he said and the man went white then and he threw a copy of the Hawks jersey at her and she unfolded it. And saw white, blue and silver on plum purple, saw the name on the back of the jersey then and she stood up at that. "You're not a Duck at all, you're a Hawk!" She snapped in shocked fury at this news.
"That's right, they destroyed our name as revenge for us destroying their reputation, when we were kids, we are the true Mighty Ducks, Mam, Sirs. And it's time to take back what rightfully belongs to us, but can I request another deal here. We did this three times when we were kids, but our cub selves win, we take back what rightfully belongs to us. And they are the new Mighty Ducks, they win, we stay the Don't Bothers." Adam said and the committee nodded gently then.
"Fair deal?" Connie asked and the other boy went pale at that. "Yes that's a fair deal, and I can guarantee that, hey kids, back here?" they heard and Gordon turned around and saw Ducksworth and smiled. "Hey Gerald, and yeah we're going to take back what rightfully belongs to us now, but 24 years into the future, let's focus, give them a real run for their money." he said and the entire team smiled at that remark then, as they ended the exchange at that.
"Alright first then, is we get our own style worked out together, our version, as high 8th grade to high school, the first game is in 3 weeks. And the season, it comes to an end in June on the championships now." Orion said smiling and they nodded smiling then. "That's too late for that Uncle Ted, we had our own style with you the 2 years you held the coach's place. Before he came back." Connie said and he nodded smiling at her, as he looked between the 11 gently.
"Then let's do it, team off, and scrimmage match." he said and they nodded smiling. "Luis, careful hit the brakes, would you please." Connie said and he nodded. "Who left the radio playing, because that's just ridiculous right now." Terry said and they froze and started laughing and nodded. "Yeah point taken, but the Tengus are humanoid Hawks." Charlie said and he nodded in agreement. "And you're a mouse, now can it already Russ." Jesse said to him at that.
"Alright boys, I see another wing blow after the ducklings got into a wing fight, you're both going to get it, now that's enough of that already, you two." Orion said and they and Charlie nodded smiling as Connie closed her eyes as she was shaking in laughter. "Yes coach" "Dad" they said together and he nodded smiling. "Alright let's see here now, if I remember correctly, and Alex did this with his son now, he tied a garbage can lid to a line in front of the goal now."
"So we try that, as that gives him an open target, as he learns to aim direct at the can lid only, as for Luis, we have the same recycled cans for his controlling his momentum. As he slows it down now and puts the brakes on." Buckley said and he nodded in agreement. "We used that technique, but under expedited training, with you, we got plenty of time." Gordon said and he nodded. "Good, and 6 months in the bonding process." Orion said and the sextet nodded then.
"Yeah 6 months our case, and 4 years the 11, that we can do this easily, and there's the ready rant, Dave and Peter are beyond disgusted, just what happened to the 11. When in the 4 years since Charlie kicked them off the team, did you and the dean brainwash them." Russ asked and he crossed his arms. "No they just grew up, you're not kids, little ducklings anymore, so you're not acting that way anymore and I'm not treating you like it." he said and they nodded sternly.
"Alright practice game, boys, Julie I got you, Gordon, you got the girls, and the sextet." he said and they nodded smiling gently, as they pulled on their color code then, as Orion pulled his red jacket on, and Gordon his current team jacket for the game, so the team knew their coloring then. "And Dean watch the body slams with you that close to Julie, you're protecting the girls here okay." he said and Dean nodded, as Dwayne went to face against Tommy then, smiling.
"Nice day for a game of hockey, ain't it?" he asked smiling and he grinned at him. "Sure is cowboy." he said and the ref looked between them and dropped it and moved out of the way. As Jesse got the face off and shot off, as he took it to Julie, as Adam took it and fired and she missed the shot. "That's 1: Ducks, Visitors: 0." Charlie called out and the person doing the scoring put that up, as Dwayne tried to get it back and passed it to Jesse as Luis went flying.
"Hey take it easy man, slow it down." Goldberg said to Luis and Gordon shouted out. "Greg, look out!" he called out then and he got ready to catch him. "Oh no!" he said as he collided with him. "Whoa!" Luis shouted as he crashed into him and Gordon nodded. "This kid has to learn to rein it in." Orion said and he nodded. "No kidding, he has to learn to stop." he said as they heard the bemused smile. "Thanks for breaking my fall." they heard from Luis and then heard it then.
"Any time." he said and Charlie hid a laugh. "Humanoid puck, Greg." Connie called out and Jesse and Guy started laughing. "More like 300 humanoid pucks." Goldberg said with a bemused smile. "Terry pull, switch 56, green on 9." Charlie called out and he nodded. "Hold fire, Dean, where's the puck exactly?" Kenny shouted out to him and he shrugged, before they got the answer to that question, not realizing Tammy had the puck, shot it to her brother at that.
And who then shot to Guy next. "Anyone call for a short stack?" Tommy asked her smiling then and before Julie could react, Guy, with the puck on his stick, put it into the goal and she looked down smiling as Gordon smiled. 'Yeah with the skill of a pro player, I'm being outwitted, by the best peewee team in the Minnesota leagues. Only I'm now part of said team, watch it wise guy, brother.' Orion saw her thinking with an amused smile as he and Gordon hid a chuckle.
"Alright Ducks, focus here." Orion called out with an amused look. "You think the school ref's going to find that one illegal, that the breakfast special, just became a constant one now?" Buckley asked and he chuckled. "I doubt it right now, Dean, in fact 3 weeks worth of training you have them turning so good the Varsity are going to realize their brothers. Will never stand a chance, once we get all the kinks worked out, before the game." he said and they nodded then.
"Yeah something's never change no matter you're here or not, Coach." the ref said and Gordon nodded smiling. "I got to see this, you knew how well I put them through basic training, now we updated it to J.V. now, in middle school." he said and the 2 refs nodded smiling in agreement. "Long story, but he was afraid of the puck in training mode, till to get him over his fear of being shot at, Gordon did what Apu did and tied him to the post." Casey said and they nodded then.
"And I call that going a bit far, but if it's the only way to get over his fear of being shot at, I get the point right now, but that's a short stack in plastic circle form. This is 300 of them the size and shape of a human being." Madigan said with a bemused smile at that remark then. "Dee C switch Red 32, shoot it passed the green, quack quack." Charlie called out and they nodded, as they went on the alert of going to the quack attack then and Gordon crossed his arms smiling.
"You just put these moves into code, by colors and letters, Ted?" he asked and Orion nodded gently smiling. "Yeah teaching them minor to pro hockey right now, that they adapted so fast to it, they're like us, they changed in record time. But with Russ added to the team, what he taught the 13 took precedence now and they turned so good, this will work out just fine." he said and he nodded as the puck ended up on the wall in front of them and he quickly said it.
"Come on get it out there, get it out of there." Gordon called out as it ended up directly at the outside of their box, as they finally got it off the wall and Averman paused for a drink. "Haven't you guys been training in the off season, to prevent it from hitting the wall here. Be careful before the Hawks Varsity run you into the boards, son?" he said and he lifted his mask then. "You know, I knew we forgot something, and that was it." he said as he took a fast gulp at that.
"Took it to the stomach here, give him 10." Charlie called out and Gordon nodded. "Yeah that's going to leave a mark right now, but this is GWG, mixed into high school mode. And you're even better then they give you credit for here." Buckley said smiling and he smiled at him. "Someone turn off the darn radio please!" Connie called out and they switched it off at that, as from there the game picked up a bit, as Russ tried to head off Adam, and he moved around him easily.
As Adam took it in fast move and ran it into a triple deke and fired scoring another goal. "Good shot Adam, way to go!" Gordon said smiling and the game started getting out of hand as Dean knocked Fulton into the wall. Before Jesse and Averman tried to double team and he shoved them against back of their goal. "Ding round 1." Goldberg said, before the duo pulled it. "Jesse, Fulton, guys now!" Charlie shouted and Jesse passed the puck to Fulton and cocked at that.
"Look out!" Gordon shouted and they looked up. "Look out, it's Fulton." Adam shouted then and he nodded. "His shot!" Tommy shouted as Guy said it quickly. "Get get out of the way!" he called lut then and they all moved out of the way as the shot hit the bar, ricocheted off it, hit a beam on the ceiling. "Duck!" Casey shouted and everyone covered up, as it headed for Tibbles as he hit the deck and as it went flying over him, and he grabbed the puck and tossed it back.
And to the ref and he nodded then as they kept it up. "Jeesh, yeah okay point taken, you made your point right now in the shooting, if the league refs were used to this. Now we have to right now, before we, or one of both sides in students, get hit with it." Buckley said and he nodded. "Well trust me I'm used to this right now with the kids, but that shot is a lethal weapon, and an Island player tried to catch it, and it left a dent." Gordon said and the sextet peewee coaches.
They hid a smile, "You kids are crazy." Orion said with a laugh. "I'll say right now, you guys, Stanton, are completely crazy, just where is your brain, that shot. Going at 110 mph's, is a head on collision, before a bounce off 2 more!" the ref said in shocked bemused at that. "Alright so with knowing the lethal force that shot is going, it's known all over the twin cities district to us. Bash brothers, yeah, but he gets ready to shoot, heads up." the Cardinals coach said to that.
"And you thought your students were lethal in the slapshots, mine is truly a lethal weapon, once he lets go right now, everyone in our district knows this. He winds up, hit the deck or get ready to duck, after it broke 30 windows in 4 years." Orion said and he nodded with a chuckle. "And baby, when I'm driving up to drop your brother off, let me get out of range first. Before you break the window on his side of my car." Casey said and Fulton nodded with a smile gently.
"Point made now Gordon, believe me, but Coach Orion, you need to get him to rein it in, he gets ready to shoot, everyone get out of the way right now." the school ref said and the visiting school coaches doing J.V. hockey nodded in agreement. "Thanks for the warning, now knowing how lethal Reed's shot really is, he gets ready to shoot, I'm calling that out to my players. But if my team is 1 of the teams you play in the peewees, they know this." he said and Orion nodded.
"Which team do you have, if you're coaching for Pinecrest exactly?" he asked and he gave him the J.V. list and he read the names and smiled. "That's the Hornets." Gordon said and the Coach nodded. "Were the teams every year, you knew the players for 4 years from 10 to now?" he asked and Gordon nodded. "Yeah every year was the same thing here, but no matter how hard the Hawks tried, they just can't beat us, which was why the Varsity are irritated here now."
"Which explains the conversation you'll hear later Gwen, Jim, it's because here, that they are just not good enough, when they never allow new experiences." he said and the quartet nodded."So new Coach, but same team, which means they know the 11 of you way too well, but every year we get a new configuration in plays. Now making me wonder what it was you been teaching your son and his team all summer." the man said and Orion nodded as Buckley smiled.
"See switch 63, hand/eye coord, Les'." Charlie said and he nodded and as they kept it up and Adam got in the next shot, before Jesse took it and passed it to Fulton. And for a second time, and this time he got it, as they went to the move that Tammy and Tommy created. And she fired in the next as the buzzer sounded. "Alright point taken, you're incredible guys, that was great, never had this much fun in training games." Madigan said, smiling at the game then.
And as the team smiled, at their approval. "First week under the Coach and getting off to a good start, but six months before the season begins, this is going to get so strong. That the Varsity never see it coming that what they refused to learn with Coach Orion, we had. And we just jumped their skill so highly, they're being destroyed in the showdown now. But as Charlie said, the Warriors die, and the Ducks Fly." Russ said smiling as he tipped his helmet back then.
