Chapter 34: The First Game, Injuries And The Prank War Starts II

As Julie hugged him from behind as they looked him over and the duo swallowed hard at the way they treated Charlie then. "Leadership training take 2) you got to be calm when in pressure, if necessary, when someone shouts they're open. Get ready to shoot it to them, because the pressure of winning the game the championship. Lies on your shoulders, you can't carry it alone, there is no I in team, so them to us, us to the coach." he said and Orion translated that sternly.

"Translation, this is what it's like to be captain, you carry the weight of your team mates's hopes, they lean too hard on you and you crumble." Orion said sternly and the 13 nodded angrily then. "You did it once again, you showed you can be captain, but trying to be a one man team, come on, it's a wonder his hot-dogging didn't cost us the game in a tie." Averman said gently and he nodded as they looked at Peter sternly then at that remark then firmly then.

"And to say this from dad's point of a view, I'd have preferred a loss as you learn a lot more from losing then from winning." Charlie said and Orion nodded sternly. "And when these guys get that rough with a team mate, then there's going to be hell to pay here right now. And clearly we got to fix the kinks in our armor, before the next game, and till you're recovered. But if that was more then a bruised rib, but they're broken or worse, you're not playing till Pinehurst."

"But yes we won the game, but that reaction, whatever he said was not necessary and his reaction with his hockey stick was uncalled for here." he said sternly and the team nodded then. "Ted!" Casey called out to him and he nodded. "Yeah Friday night, but I'm taking him to the hospital to check on it, Casey!" he called out and she nodded gently. "Well something's never change, though divorced, simple step back." Averman said and he nodded to that gently then.

"Just wait till Cliff and his wife hear this, it's the rant Claire gave at him for this reaction, your brother never did that, since finding me. You guys matured so fast, that back then you're a 13 year old in a 10 year old body, now you're a 17 year old. And in a 14 year old body here, you guys are the best of friends and you three, with the Halls out of town here. You guys and Fulton lead the 8 of you here, and soon Adam is returning after his stint is over on Varsity now."

"Yeah, but way to go, you spazway." Guy said sternly and they swallowed hard at that. "You're our captai, you always were, wearing your C or not, you are our captain." Julie said and Charlie nodded as she pressed her forehead to his and he buried his head into her neck in relief. "Like I said, you idiots trying to kill him, the last two movies focused on Bombay, Peter. This one focuses on Charlie, in becoming the captain and leader he was meant to be right now in truth."

"But why is that, well the reason, he's playing the part of Larusso, just after he realized he's been tricked, you're him after you allowed their venom to infect you. Ergo, he's Peter Parker, you're Eddie Brock: Venom!" Adam snapped and they paled at that news. "With great power, comes great responsibility, this position doesn't mean getting your way all the time. Hence our nickname for him, Rex!" Connie said as Julie hold him gently as he left his head on her shoulder.

As she hugged him tightly. "First game, we did it now, but injured, I need a back up captain as I recover." he said and they nodded gently to him. "Well wearing it or not, you said captain in everyway you can say it here right now in truth, but there it is. These guys never learned the immense weight that comes with being the second in command of the team. Right behind your coach right now, as you show the truth level of leadership in you." Orion said and he nodded.

"First Adam and now you, only this time you got hit by one our own team mates that hard, but at least you had your helmet on." Connie said as she, Guy, Goldberg, Averman and Fulton surrounded him then. "Yeah that and the pads, but even pads are not enough at times, once in the locker room we need to get a better look." Guy said with a growl and he nodded. "This remind you anything?" Charlie asked and the quintet nodded as they saw Jared looking at him.

As they charged to the edge of the railing. "How serious are we talking guys after Larson and McGill did the same to him, bro?" he asked and Charlie saw the duo. "Stand by, you two get to the showers right now, we'll talk later, move it!" Charlie snapped and they stayed put. "Jim, Eric, take them to my office, please, they're staying there, till we deal with this." Orion said and he nodded as he and Coach Eric Parker nodded as they grabbed the duo and dragged them out.

"At least your team mates don't realize this is all a sting operation right now, till we insure we're sure they're trying to get us expelled here, by revocation of our scholarships." Charlie said and Jared nodded. "Yeah and it's only that, I hated these idiots ever since they tried to kill you and Karen, before barely putting my brother in the hospital for said skull fracture." he said and Charlie nodded gently. "Issues in the big brother, I'm family." he said and Jared nodded gently.

"Yeah you are, my other kid brother." he said and Adam smiled in relief. "Charlie, how hard did you hit the railing on the goal post if you passed out on us exactly?" he asked and he sighed. "Not sure man, but I think he broke something, but this could be seen as what Larson and McGill did to you." Averman said for him at that and Adam nodded sternly in anger. "And if they force a confrontation I'm going to kill them as barely a week in and you shouldn't even be playing."

"But someone had to have done something, but Jared's living at home, and Scooter's his room mate, his parents are out of town." he said and Charlie nodded. "Jared, Scooter, do the others know he's a plant?" Charlie asked and Jared shook his head and he sighed in relief. "Charlie, if they cross the line, my undercover is over, I'm coming home guys, I'm coming home." Adam said and the sextet nodded in relief as the quintet looked at the sextet then firmly then.

"Just why the heck would he lash out like this?" Ken asked and he explained that to him as the quintet surrounded him. "Because he's sick to death of the way dad taught us to do it, we either kept it at a shut out or allowed up to 5. When in the case of the whichever team is playing us right now, but make it so the score is even. And then let them have it hard, you didn't say anything to antagonize these guys, did you?" he asked and his side shook their heads then.

"We didn't, but we had plenty already, we didn't need anymore goals and not when you're playing when you're hurt right now at the moment. But after said Blake tripped him up you took the shot and couldn't slow down after making it just as the buzzer sounded. You blacked out and crashed right into the wall and I know this scared Lin out of her wits and your mother. With her, right now, she's going to kill the duo for that, vocally." Averman said and he nodded sternly.

"At least you never changed at all, Bombay may no longer be coaching us, but we got your dad still, nothing changed and you're still you." Connie said gently and he nodded. "Yeah still me, Guy, if it's more then bruised ribs, like we think, you're in charge during games. Till I recovered enough to play again, and till Adam calls off his undercover stint on the Varsity." he said and they nodded gently at the news then as they looked at the final score then sternly.

Looking up at the final score, he felt his anger at the boy he considered his rival for team leader start growing. "Dad that game misconduct, Peter's deactivated, but anymore stunts, he's getting banned from the team till he gets his head on straight. You're our coach now, the rest of us all love you as our coach, but they got two choices, stop with the Duckling attitude. Or they don't play, we're not ducklings anymore, we're teenage ducks." he said and Orion nodded sternly.

"Got it, Gwen and Jim, they told me they're failing their classes, but if that's a broken rib and causes your lung to collapse, you're benched till you're fully healed, son." he said and Charlie nodded to him. "We're missing 3 players and Adam is currently undercover on the Varsity, I called Jesse, they're coming home in a month, we just got to make it till then." he said and they nodded. "Marks destroyed his hockey stick, needs a new one." Russ said and Charlie nodded.

"At least we won the game, but I'd have preferred a loss to a win like this with these idiots on the team, because we never allowed anyone to score more then 2 or 3 against us." Charlie said sternly and the sextet and the Duncans nodded sternly in disgusted fury. "Well this goes back to what our parents meant after our discussion, before we deactivated these guys." Fulton said to him as he hold him steady and Guy and Connie nodded in agreement with his opinion.

"Yeah that and knowing he's still ticked that in the 4 years since we expelled them from the team, you became such a skilled captain, you don't need the symbol. Just to prove you're captain, Charlie, you show it in everyway possible." Goldberg said and Averman nodded to that. "No kidding, with the fact we never listen to him, he knows we're only following Charlie after we expelled them from the team and we made friends that never put the other down in truth."

"But I think that reaction's because they're sick of you never passing him or Karp the shot, and shoot it one of us." Averman said in response and Charlie nodded. "Well reason being is we work as one and show our skill, but with the Varsity watching us right now. I think he decided to downplay it make them think we're great in offense, but not that good in the defense. But the next thing we get is a grudge match breaking out and they just blew our mental edge."

"With the Varsity in making them think we're pushovers, though if I broke a rib and dad's going to kill them if that match turns into a brawl next." he said and Orion nodded sternly. "I don't believe this, you had it on a perfect shutout, but no lead is safe if you can't play defense. So these guys left a few cracks in the armor and the Blake defenses cut through our's. Like they're not even there, yeah someone's getting the riot act from hell here in the locker room."

"This situation is not your fault, you pulled off the last shot." he said and Charlie nodded. "You trained us too well now dad, we know what to do, but clearly these idiots in truth. Now, thought this was too easy, and decided to make it more interesting and sooner then you wanted." Charlie said and he nodded. "Well their demeaning name for you got reversed on him now, he cracked under pressure, but we won every season for 4 years, since your dad started training us here."

"So how was the game, Spazway." Guy said sternly and Russ nodded. "Yeah did you score?" he asked and the other boy looked down in humiliation at their words reversed on him now and the adults nodded sternly. "And maybe now, you'll know what it feels like, like the duo on the show did after they got a taste of their own medicine." Buckley said sternly and he nodded sternly. "They're in big trouble, so in addition to laying you out right now at the current moment here."

"These guys get a taste of their own medicine finally." Orion said sternly and Charlie nodded. "I know, but clearly they're trying to make me look bad in front of the entire faculty here. Just to prove your golden child is not as good as everyone thinks here right now in all truth. And instead, I just made him look bad after Parker there did me a favor and tripped him up. Thanks again Parker, I owe you one man." he called out and the Blake player nodded in relief then.

"No problem, just deal with that showoff and Karp, before he kills someone in anger next, Orion." his counterpart called back to him and the team nodded gently. "That's true and it's the telling off from hell once we get undercover in the locker room. But that reaction with the stick, now that was uncalled for here right now, and to repeat what your mother said. We just watched this kid jeopardize his hockey career we are not letting them do it to their studies here."

"And we don't care who your coach is, could be me or it could be Gordon, his reaction was juvenile and uncalled for. Because Coach whoever between us, nothing, he used to feel the same way about Gordon he does me here. So, and I'm saying this for all of us, but I think that the only thing that needs to change around here, is his attitude." Orion said as Buckley crossed his arms in disapproval as he looked at Orion and waved them over and Charlie nodded gently.

"At least we won, but I think he was trying to get us in trouble for that, by giving the board a reason to expel us." he said and Buckley nodded. "So what's the lesson learned from this if this is what your father was referring to right now?" Parker asked and he nodded sternly. "Better trade your pride for humility and if you want it back, you better work for it. And secondly right now, can't hold onto the past forever, learn from it and move on." he said and they all nodded.

"Bingo, that's exactly what I meant in my opening lecture when you started in my class, kiddo, you just proved my point, as he and Karp now sees what it's like. And when their insults and taunting get reversed on them now as you showed him up, though injured. Was that they called you, spazway?" he asked and Charlie nodded. "That exchange between the guys and Peter, that's what nearly cause us all to end up in detention." he said and they both nodded sternly.

"Like I said, what goes around, comes around now in all truth here, as they see what it's like to have their words turned on them now. Then again, you're not losing your temper in front of us, but boys we're going to let that implication go. But just this once right now, as you had every right to to lose your temper here, as that's beyond crude. And you were only defending your parents and Gordon's honor here." Buckley said gently and the trio nodded to him in relief then.

As Adam looked at Charlie and he smiled and Adam smiled in relief then gently. "Yeah Connie decide to run a little test at what not having them around does for me, and now I'm. And next to Adam, the best player on the team, we been together so long nothing change. Just short of 2 months before the season ends it was like it was always dad, like Bombay was always our coach. Like Adam had always been part of the team and we're like this together, as for the close call."

"Well I can chalk that up to unsportsmanlike conduct, sorry dean, not my fault, Peter's a real hothead in all truth here right now. At least we won the game, but in total truth, and I'm saying this for both of us, dad with me, I'd have preferred a loss to a win like this. As you learn a lot more from losing then from a tie or a win, said being we got to fix the holes in defense." Charlie said and Buckley nodded gently to him as they moved to the Administration side of the stands.

"And you did till whoever it was started antagonizing these guys and they throw everything they got at us right now." Madigan said and Orion nodded in agreement as Buckley answered him. "It's fine, son, it's fine, but right now, I'm more worried about you pal, how bad's the pain. In truth, if you collapsed on us?" he asked and Charlie sighed. "A 7, but I think his reaction was because he's sick of hearing my name every time he turns around, like to him, me, me, me."

"It's always about me, why does it keep coming back to me, but then as the leader of the Junior Varsity, only I can control the team here, but following your rules and training guidelines. He was happy when they made me look like a screw up at the time here in truth. But you recall, book 5, of the TNG series, what caused the riot in ten forward?" he asked and they nodded. "That's this now, it's a severe inferiority complex, as in your eyes now, star pupil, golden child."

"To you, as our teachers and coach, our dean…" he said and the trio nodded. "After kicking them off the team, you flourished in your training, becoming a cub me after 4 years of training. That to me, the final test to prove you deserved that captaincy was by going without it. For a bit and even without it, you show you're the captain, by giving the right guidance. To the 13 right now, with the boys out of town and Adam on Varsity." Orion said and he nodded gently to him then.

"That's just his problem, first born to you and them." he said and they all nodded. "Yes to us, you're our golden child in truth, you could do no wrong, but you're close in truth. And to getting that captaincy back, but his reaction after attacking you now. Well he just blew it, but if he was trying to kill the clock by being a one man team here. He just blew it right now, as you got the last shot in, before the pain from it caused you to pass out on us." Orion said and he nodded.

As he looked at the statistics and then said sternly as he read it out. "The you I raised, you never changed a bit, and I thank god every day you ran into me that year. That finding me 4 years ago was the best thing for you, so though Gordon turned coaching over to me. You never change at all, you're still the 10 year old I met that day after checking on me now." Orion added and he nodded as Averman hid a smile that one change 4 years prior had him stay himself.

"These idiots screwed up our record of keeping it to normal pattern, one more blow back next week they're being ejected from the team. So game 2 is going to be a total shut out, on back to the old pattern I promise you that, Dean, but this was why. In truth I never wanted them back on the team, the 12 will listen to me no questions asked. As the trio get back and Adam rejoins, but this was an attempt to make me look bad to you, before I reversed that right now."

"And by telling Parker there to hook him, but since we threw them off the team, if I blow a shot, it's because of a beyond good goalie. But this was a 7 point lead, next game is going back to our original M.O. and keeping it below 5." Charlie said and he nodded smiling gently. "I understand Captain, but if that's more then a bruised rib, it's broken, you got 3 weeks to the next game. So you just wait on that, we need you leading us to victory this year as our team JV captain."

"As we got a long 5 years together, and your school career just started here, but with it just starting, don't worry, we can fix that problem for the next game and showdown. As you and Banks lead your team to victory this season and the following 4 years." he said and Charlie nodded smiling. "Yes Sir." he said smiling and and Orion hid a chuckle, knowing the good first impression with the faculty had stuck then, as he showed everything they wanted then.

"But Captain is really a term for squad leader here, dad's like any skilled soldier gone teacher, that I'm next in command, so him lieutenant to full bird, me the next 2 ranks down. But if this was Starship Troopers and clearly the hotshot that was Rico's rival for squad leader. Never was captain of the team of whatever school he came from, and has been doing it so long. The team is going to follow orders, no questions asked." Charlie said and Parker chuckled gently.

And at the metaphor. "I get that, I take it this was un spoken orders was to tell Greg to get in front of us, after Fulton fired off?" he asked and Charlie nodded. "Yes Sir, my favorite teachers, you know how dangerous the game gets, and you see his shot in action now. But that's one of 18 teams we play against, but they all know the dangers, Fulton gets ready to shoot. Take cover, as even the windows are not going to protect you." he said and the faculty nodded.

As Linda was looking at his son with love and he smiled at her gently. "So back to being Captain again and there's the you I know, your rival would be said personality. I see next week, before whatever happens next, but you just scared the heck out of the Varsity. As they see that your defense is beyond good honey." she said and he nodded as he answered her. "I know, but looks like these idiots are sick of dad being on their cases, when we usually have at a smaller one."

"We won at 16 to 8, I'm going to kill him, we had it on a total shut out till those idiots started antagonizing them." Charlie said sternly as the 13 looked at this scenario. "Game misconduct, anger problems, and now this, a certain someone is getting the telling off from hell. But we're not the ones in trouble, but if it's not bruised ribs, but a broken one, but you. Now, couldn't slow down and crashed right into the wall, before passing out." Averman said and he nodded gently.

"Calling in at a 9 point lead right now, that the Blakes know there was no winning this, as they threw the match in the end. But they combined together with me after they also realized Peter was screwing with the high level energy drinks right now. With his inferiority complex and the fact he's addicted to that junk, he's a danger to himself and everyone else. Point proven by what he did to me, but if Karp is also on that junk, he's deactivated." he said and Orion nodded then.

"Yes and I said this time and time again, stay clean and training, start with that crap and no training." he said sternly and Buckley nodded in stern agreement. "Just imagine your football counterpart dealing with a total hothead, his own rival is Charlie as a senior. But did it ever cross their minds to frame someone with the same problem, they get in trouble for. Instead of someone that never screws with this stuff?" Averman said and he nodded in exasperation gently.

"If it didn't, then that's strike one, because when the quiet ones suffer a reaction like this for no reason, and a reaction we normally never see in said player. And we know this was a set up right now in all truth, son." Parker said and the team nodded gently. "And secondly why choose someone on strict medical orders by his instructors here, then they know said rules. Because if it ever combines with a vision, it's not reliable and we go it the old fashioned way here now."

"And by checking the whatever from top to bottom." the chief said sternly and they all nodded gently. "Just imagine if said coach was like dad, that these guys know, he finds them with this stuff on them, the only trip they're taking is right to the hospital, for a detox." he said and Orion nodded in agreement. "Then again you're my cub, so mess with me and said player that pulled this stunt, is being held back a year here." he said and Charlie nodded as he said it gently then.

"At least we won the game, but every game we either had it at zero or 1 or 2, we never let our opponents take advantage, looks to me. They were trying to make the game more interesting and are sleeping on the job till we had it at normal rate. And then let them have it, but we never spotted them this number, before taking back control and winning the game." Charlie said and the duo nodded sternly. "So they did this on purpose?" Buckley repeated and he nodded then.

"Yeah dad's training was good for us, we only had it at zero or 1 or 2 goals for the following 2 peewee seasons, and even when we played as 7th grade hockey. And before starting here, but this was he had two motives, 1) to make it more interesting. And 2) start pushing the board into expelling us so tie game or loss of said, as we lose our scholarships. But there you go, the evidence you need to know he's sick of being here." he said and Buckley nodded at the news.

"Here's the reason why baby." Madigan said, passing him the duo's progress reports and he read it and their current grades. "Where are the rest of the team and I'm at?" he asked and their teachers smiled. "You're all holding a steady A+ average in every class right now, but just wait till you show this to their parents right now. Because like we said, sports are a privilege not a right when playing in the school system." Parker said and he nodded gently at the remark then.

"Dead duck walking right now, he just jeopardized his hockey career and his grades are going to have him kicked out of school if he doesn't get jamming right now." Russ said sternly and the trio nodded. "If you're badly hurt, you should be take it easy, but we're keeping you surrounded, in case the Varsity start getting rough right now at the moment. Though if they push us into a grudge match, I'm going to kill them, you're benched." Averman said sternly and they nodded.

"Guys stay with him, and to the locker room, I'll be there in a few minutes." Orion said gently and they nodded as the team headed for their locker room. "The second he lashes out, he's going to claim it's not his fault, but your remarks were already referenced by the guys. Terry and Tommy, let alone Jesse, so Ken, just make it clear we had enough already." Charlie said softly and Ken nodded gently as he got ready to make it clear then as he looked between them.

"Come on we need a better look at the damage as for all we know that blow to the chest triggered a broken rib too close to the lung." Julie said and he nodded. "Charlie, whatever the doctor says, we're on hold till the next game we got enough players. But if you cracked a rib or worse, you shouldn't even be playing for a while." Connie said and he nodded. "The way I'm feeling right now, I think they did more then that, Connie, it feels like the early symptoms here."

"Of a chest burster." he told her and as they heard a loud clatter as Peter chucked his helmet and stick behind their locker rack then as they looked at Peter angrily. "The guy hooked me alright." he said in annoyance then. "We didn't need anymore goals." Ken said sternly and Peter snapped at him. "Hey listen man, I was trying to win it." he said and Averman snapped at him. "Well mission not accomplished, Peter." he snapped at him then sternly and he got in in his face.

"Knock it off Peter, you're in enough trouble already right now, besides like they keep saying, they only listen to me and on or off, I'm captain of the team." Charlie said as he headed for a mirror in the showers to get a better look then. "You okay brother?" Julie asked and he sighed. "The ache shifted to a burning sensation in my rib cage, Kitty." he said and she nodded in stern annoyance as Guy answered that. "You let down, simple as that." he said to Peter then sternly.

"Yeah you blew your chance at being the team hero, but now you know how it feels when everyone depends on you and you blew it for us, assisted or not. Charlie made the shot and we won, but you idiots cost us a total shut out!" Tommy snapped at him sternly. "We been keeping our games on a total shut out for years with his father in charge of us now. He told us time and time it doesn't matter how many we make, keep it to zero in our opposing teams case here."

"You let down, simple as that." Guy said sternly and Connie nodded in agreement. "Hey you let down, we played hard here." she said and Luis nodded. "Yeah man no heart." he said and he and Karp looked between them as his frustration shot through him. "Well what the hell are we playing for anyway, some stupid school, the alumni, Warriors, what the hell are we now?!" Peter snapped, tearing off his jersey and Russ confronted him then as he got up as he said it then.

"Hey man, we're on scholarship, I'm staying." he said, putting an emphasis on the I'm, to imply it as 'we' then as Karp looked at him in disgust. "Fine sell out." he said and Russ looked at him angrily. "Hey man who are you calling a sell out, you little punk, at least I'm not teasing him, getting him to lose his focus and blow it till he does finally." he snarled and they went pale and the quintet nodded. "Yeah that's right, we know alright." Luis said with a growl to him then.

"You think he would never tell us, well he did, but the eight, Terry, the Duncans they belong to us, but Charlie is my best friend, I live in L.A.. I was at all their games after a blown match, I offered to help them get better, and in a thank you. Charlie chose me, making me #14. And on the team, I've been a duck ever since, my shot was what got me on the team now. They're my best friends, but don't blame us, you did this to yourselves all we had to do was show up for it."

"But if you're jealous, that we're that close to them, you only got yourselves to blame the 7, and the Duncans, Adam and the Halls, they belong to us now, so get over it." he said and shoved Karp back, before he shove him and Peter shoved him so hard that a fight broke out. "Hold on guys!" Averman shouted out and Connie said it quickly. "Stop it!" she said quickly then as Orion got in there, as he slammed the door open. "Everybody freeze." he shouted out to them then.

"Guys freeze." Charlie snapped out and the 12 froze up instantly at the order then to them as he came in the door then sternly as he looked at the bathroom wall then sternly at that. "There better be a dryer here at the academy, they just flooded the shower stall here." Charlie snapped and Averman went to look. "That and there's a message on the wall here, one pipe has a puncture in it and that pipe is next to the shower-head." he said sternly at that news then.

"What pipe is that connected to, Guy?" Charlie said and he nodded and went to trace the pipe and came back in with a slamming of the door. "Coach, that pipe is connected to the system, is this rink synthetic or real ice." he asked and he said it sternly as he looked between the duo sternly in anger at this reaction then. "It's real ice, there is a swimming pool directly below that ice and it's below freezing." he said sternly and they nodded as Averman said it then sternly.

"Oh god no, not again right now, he's already fallen through thin ice once, we're not going through that again, but if he's hurt and that dunk. Another case of attempted murder here right now combined with 60 other charges in the books. You idiots are out of your darn minds here right now, what if it's not one of us. But one of the girls going for a figure skate on the rink, you idiots!" Fulton snapped and Charlie said it with a growl then as he looked at Orion then.

"You better see this dad, they trashed the locker room after you told them to stay away from us, case of pranks and counter. But we're going to exact payback, though this results in a grudge match and someone's dead. Because this is illegal: breaking an entering, theft, destruction of school property." Charlie said and Orion moved to the shower stall and saw the message on the wall and his eyes narrowed in fury then as he looked at the message and said it with a growl.

"Russ remember what I said, everyone, but Scooter and the Banks's." Charlie said and he nodded. "But this is looking like they hit a pipe though which one I don't know where does that pipe connect to?" Averman said and Orion looked at the said pipe and as the sextet switched off the showers, as they grabbed their clothes and dumped them in a landry hamper to take them to the school laundry room. "I got to check the generator to know that." he said sternly to that.

"That better not be the damn pipe connected to the coolant system Timothy, or so help me god right now, you're being sued for destruction of school property. Because I don't remember your predecessors doing this to expel you we had to get that system fixed, but are you trying to kill someone. And just what the heck were you little monsters after exactly right now?" he asked sternly as he slammed into his office, before coming back out then as he said it to the team.

"It's missing, guys check your stuff, we switched playbooks here now." he said and they dug into their duffle bags. "Our's are gone too, alright they got the peewee league, but the real ones are at home, Coach. We changed and made updates to the playbook, since you took on training us right now." Goldberg said to him and he nodded sternly in relief. "Well there it is, if they cross a the line here they are in big trouble so let them have it till they forget what I taught them here."

"The Varsity push you into grudge match use the peewee league ones, as the demo, as you make my point now to these brats starts. This is not the peewees, those plays will not work on this level anymore, as for that reaction here. You been playing longer under my training, since Gordon left and I practically raised you myself to know it. We're doing better, but that wasn't your fault that we got thrown off by them throwing everything they got at us here right now."

"But the defense needs a little more work right now, that's not a problem and I'm proud of you guys right now, you did great today guys." he said and the 13 nodded gently. "Whereas you, gentlemen, I don't care about the reason for that lash out right now. That's not being tolerated right now and as for the last goal, that Charlie had to finish now. Just what the heck was that out there exactly right now young man huh, trying to be a one man team here right now?"

"How long does it to take score a goal?!" he asked and Charlie nodded as they quickly dodged as he threw a puck at the bulletin board as he looked between the duo sternly. As the duo looked at him in shock at that as the 13 looked at the duo in anger he was this furious. At the near tie game then as he walked down the line and they went to attention then as he read it out then. "Less then a second, that means there is no lead that is safe, if you can't play defense."

"Now get this straight, I don't give a damn how many goals you score, the only number I want on your minds is 0, as in shut out, you got that?!" he said, turning to look at Peter with a stern warning look, as he looked from him to Karp in anger. As Peter kept his mouth shut, though he was shaking in anger and humiliation at the fact he was being treated like this. "Practice, tomorrow morning, 5 a.m., got to get up early if you want to go hunting for goose eggs."

"Just them guys, not you, you did what I wanted you to do." he said and the 13 nodded gently as he said it sternly, looking between the duo. "Just what the hell is the matter with you two, I said this, time and time again, stay away from that crap. Stay clean and training, start with that crap no training, you think he would never tell me this. You committed a health violation, if you attacked him completely unprovoked?!" he asked sternly and they kept their mouths shut then.

"I also said B's or better to play, so with that in mind, you're benched till further notice, only practice starting now, till you're clean, but if you're sick here now. And of my riding your tail feathers, you should have backed out after second practice." he said sternly and they kept their eyes down. "How can we do this when you can't, well that's simple after we threw you off the team, dad was our coach with Bombay in the minors." Charlie said and they looked at him then.

"We're happy with him, things changed, got better, we can't imagine not wanting to return to that past, in fact, we want it to stay like this. Been together for going on 5 years, couldn't ask for a better 4 years, taught us everything we know. Call us Hawks, brainwashed, no we just stopped messing around and being pre-pro athletes now. Your words in my voice, no more, all of those remarks you say are you again, I'm my dad, as a teenager." he said and they swallowed.

"It's like it always was him, we had him here all this time, but our best friend, our coach, our father, he's the most important man in our lives. He leads us, keeps us together, his ability to help Charlie lead us, is what makes this team special now. We would do whatever he asks us to do, even if means following him into the infernal regions now. We're that devoted to him, growing into maturity, as we lose our yellow and become white, we grew up with him there."

"We were ducklings with him, we become teenage ducks with him there and soon, though we got a new coach after we reach adulthood, doesn't matter. He will always be our coach, we love him, he's our best friend and our father." Guy said gently and the 8 nodded as Charlie looked at his father in relief he and Averman found him that young. "You see what happens when your ideas backfire, instead of Charlie thinking like you do, and Fulton with him, they're like us now."

"In truth we were happy till you came back, no more mutiny, no more arguments, and our relationship with his father further develops. And since then, since the fact they tried to kill him right now, it was as if it was always Uncle Ted, like Adam. Now, always had been part of the team, like Bombay had always been there, what 6 weeks after throwing you off the team. Now causes doesn't it now, huh, and then when you return we've become beyond good since then."

"But while you guys see him as a washed out pro, we see him as our mentor, our best friend and adopted father, in Charlie's case his real father. We all love him as our mentor, we're happy having him as our coach, but if you're ready to bail, do it now. Because as Russ said, we're in our scholarship, we're staying right here." Averman said sternly to them as they looked from him, to Fulton, Connie, Guy and Goldberg then as Orion looked at them sternly as he said it.

"Try it and it's OSS till November young man, and I mean every word right now, control that temper or you're bring dragged to the dean's office." he said with a warning tone and Connie said it sternly then. "As Charlie said, not many carry that type of aura that has his players, his cadets ready to follow him into the flames. And of the infernal regions, he's got that take to him, we would do whatever he asked us to do now, and Charlie with him in total truth here."

"We never minded and we stuck to his training and medical/educational regime." Connie said as Guy moved to Charlie at his position. "Uncle Ted, I think they, these guys, hit him a little too hard here." Guy said as Charlie pressed his hand to his chest. "More then too hard, I think they either broke something or..." he said trying to get the words out as spasm shot through him as he started coughing as he grabbed his towel and wiped his mouth and they checked then.

As Orion felt his heart fall at the sight, realizing the blow to the rib cage had struck his lung then. "Oh my god, that blow broke a rib, his lung collapsed or got stabbed!" Orion snapped then as he looked over his shoulder then, as Hancock got in the room and he turned to him then. "Jim, you handle these guys, I got to take my son to the hospital right now!" he said and he nodded as he carefully helped Charlie up to the the driveway and got him in his car then.

Before taking him to the hospital as they got a better look. "His lung flooded with blood, that's the reason it collapsed, I can drain it, but he's benched. And till the next game, which is when exactly?" he asked and Orion nodded. "Next game is not till mid September, he can rest till then, but no playing till he's recovered. But we got the showdown at the start of October right now." he said and the doctor nodded. "So who did this exactly?" he asked and Orion said sternly then.

"Marks and Karp did, because they're sick of following orders by him and the way I lead the team, finally till he crossed the line after the Blakes got the latest one in. And Marks destroyed his stick, Charlie let him have it and Karp shoved his against the post so hard he broke a rib. They're benched indefinitely and penalty for getting this rough with my son, I got them in morning practice for the next week right now." he said and the doctor nodded sternly then.

"Charlie's on stand down till the next game, which is when exactly" he asked and he explained that. "Not for another 3 weeks now, though that's not if the Varsity push us into a grudge match, knowing damn well that he's been benched for 3 weeks right now." he said and he nodded sternly to him as Charlie put him under then as he waited and he drained the blood from his lung and knew his lung inflated then gently, when his breathing eased then and he sighed.

And in relief then as Orion nodded gently as he ran his hand through his hair gently. "Ted, Ted." he heard and turned to see Buckley. "I just dealt with this 2, under careful decision making, they're undergoing morning practice every day for two weeks." he said and Buckley nodded sternly. "Mckay told me that the entire Varsity, minus Scott and the Banks's, after they trashed your locker room, are about to have their jackets flash frozen." he said to him and he nodded.

"That's not the only thing, the blow to the pipe in the shower stall, just punctured it, we need to replace the pipe." he said and Buckley nodded sternly. "I know you're as disappointed
in these two as we are, we won the game, but that reaction was uncalled for." he said and Orion said it bluntly, feeling like failure, regarding trying to control these two. "Actually, I'd have preferred a loss here, then a close call win or tie." he said and he looked at him in shock then.

"You're kidding, right, Coach?" he said and Ted said sternly. "Well, you learn a hell of a lot more
from losing than from winning, my directed opinion here. And Jason gets back next weekend, I need to update the defenses here right now, after I throw those two off the team." he said and Buckley nodded. "Well the noose is slowly tightening now that they, that's the Hawks, don't have time for learning, they need to win, or they could lose their scholarships." he said to him then.

"You're kidding, right, Dean?" he asked with a stern smile and he smiled, as the doctor chuckled, knowing they were going to make sure they got enough on the Hawks. To forever destroy their reputations from then on….

The Varsity Locker Room:

As the trio were spraying the locker room, Russ said it to Julie. "I love this liquid nitrogen." he said and Kenny turned to him. "I don't think it works." he said and he tapped on one of the frozen jackets they just did. "Yeah, it's working." he said and then looked between them. "Hey, you think they're gonna miss this big old tank in chemistry class?" he asked and she smiled then. "What do you think, man?" he asked him and they looked at the trio and nodded then.

"Hey, what about the Banksies and Scooter?" he asked and she smiled. "They're still one of us, aren't they." she said and they nodded, as they got everything out of his locker, Jared's, and Scooter's. "How about full pressure?" she suggested and he nodded and turned them on high then, as they put everything back, and then put Adam's back up jersey in the locker then. An hour later the Varsity walked in and saw everything frozen, before Cole tapped his jacket.

And it shattered with a crash then, and Riley backed up in shock, as Cole pointed at the ceiling above the door and they all turned. 'The Varsity Sucks Ice, Ducks Rule.' Adam read to himself and Jared nodded, knowing that's why only he and Adam and Scooter were spared. The Varsity just brought this on themselves, in whatever just happened now as Riley nodded. And in fury, as he said their rivals name in hatred. "Ducks." he said and slammed his fist into his coat.

And Adam nodded sternly. 'Yeah still a Duck, I never had anything to do with what these guys, did to bring them upon themselves, I'm still a Duck, almost time to return to my flock.' he thought, as he looked at his new jersey, as the school version of it, as he waited. And for the sting operation Charlie intended to pull next, after he got a hint to what Riley would do…

The Diner and the Dinner Hazing:

After the penalty had been given, Casey dragged Peter to the diner with her. "Just come in and sit down." she said to him sternly and then said it to his mother. "Thank you so much, Jeannie, I'm sorry we're late." she said to her and she nodded. "No problem, honey, how was the game?" she asked and she looked at her, before Peter had an irritated look on his face. "That good, huh,
I'll close out." she said and Peter stood up then at the remark as he said it to her gently then.

"Listen, I'm taking a bus home, see you later." he said and she said it sternly. "Uh, no, sir, you sit over there, and you do your homework." she said to him and Casey finished that remark. "I just watched you jeopardize your hockey career, I will not let you do it to your studies." she said and he said it. "You have no idea what it's like playing for that guy." he said to her and Charlie walked in behind him. "Mom." he said and she said it quickly, as Orion came in behind him.

"Damage report guys?" she said and he nodded. "Healing lung, the blow broke a couple ribs, he's nested for 3 weeks, till the Pinehurst Game, honey." Orion said and she nodded. "This is what you meant Casey?" she said sternly and she nodded. "Young man, I don't care who your coach is, your behavior out there was juvenile." Jeanie said sternly and he said it. "Well, yeah, because Coach Orion.." he started to say and she shot up her hand then sternly as she said it.

"Because Coach Orion, nothing, you used to feel the same way about Coach Bombay, you remember that, I think the only thing that needs to change around here is your attitude." she said sternly and he looked at her in shock. "What? Oh, give me a break." he snapped and slammed the door open as he left at that. "As you would've told me, things are bad in the team, they just keep getting worse, we just have to hold it together." Charlie said to Casey gently.

"Yep and with that, Jason called, they'll be back on Sunday at dawn." he said and he smiled in delight. "Charlie, the idea was done, we did as you said, everyone, but the Banksies and Scooter." Russ said and he nodded. "They trashed our locker room and stole the peewee aged playbooks, and destroyed the pipe that connects to the cooling system." Charlie explained and she and Orion nodded. "Well as you said, that's two strikes." Casey said to him then gently.

"We had a riot and a near assault and battery charge, and the board owes $16,000, $9,000 for the club, and the other $7,000 to replace to the salad. While the cost for that pipe is $17,000, to prevent the rink from defrosting that happens, it could kill someone, there's a pool right below that rink, and it's below freezing." Orion said and she nodded. "Boy those charges are not looking good for the Varsity, are they, as you said, just what did we ever do to the Hawks here."

"Then win 2 years, and a blown tuition, and the Varsity are beyond prejudiced, we won one game, and that was close with Charlie running it with those two back." Dwayne said and Orion nodded in agreement. "Yeah till we get the Halls and Adam back on the team, and now it's about to become Adam shows his skill in being Captain of the team, but last round you had it. As the Red team, next Friday is the White Squad's turn now." he said and the Red team nodded gently.

"We can swap off in the on the rink swaps for the entire game, this was our turn, next is the White team's turn." Charlie said and the quintet nodded in agreement. "And that's an entire month till you're back at it, man, but Peter, so help me god, they strike his lung. And you are in so much trouble." Averman said sternly and the quartet nodded in agreement as they waited to see what the following week would bring for them…..

The Dinner Prank And Hazing Backfires:

It was the following Monday, after they settled in for lunch then, that Averman looked between them. "I think that's a first time for me, but that game, aside from the penalty, went better then I expected, we won our first game." He said and Charlie nodded. "Incoming." Connie said and Guy smiled. "Check out the new jackets, guys." he said and they nodded. "Hey, congrats on the Blake game." he said and they exchanged looks, as Charlie said it said it firmly at that then.

"It was a close game, we only won, because I threw our defenses into over time Tim." he said and he shrugged. "Hey, a point's a point, we're all Warriors now, you guys proved your guts, so…., you all set for dinner Friday?" he asked and they exchanged looks. "Dinner?" Charlie repeated and he nodded. "Well, it's an Eden Hall tradition: Varsity got to treat the freshmen to dinner, so, round up your posse and meet us at 6:00 at the Minnesota Club, downtown."

"Anybody need a ride, we can take you, I mean, you guys do like steak and seafood, right?" he asked and they nodded. "Yeah, we do." he said and Cole nodded. "Look, I don't like you pukes, all right, but this is a tradition, at Eden Hall, I learned to care about tradition." he said and Adam smiled at the team, and as the Varsity turned their back and they nodded. "It's cool." he said and they nodded. "Oh it's cool alright." Charlie said and the 13 smiled sternly at that remark.

"Let's go, if Banks says it's cool." Karp said and Peter nodded. "We might as well go." he said and they waited for the entire Varsity to get out of earshot. "You really are an idiot, Adam just told us, they're leaving us to pay the check, fortunately whatever the cost is. That we have the money, so we get to dine on dessert said being a cake for 45 people. Then, after eating dinner, and we help the restaurant owners clean up, this is what it meants to be grown up, Peter."

"Come on, before practice we're looking into that restaurant, to find out what they pulled here." Charlie said and the sextet nodded. "Connie tell dad, we're debunking that prank and making clear here, that my remark became the punchline. We'll be running a little late, the Minnesota Club, the prank is set for Saturday now, Monster Blood from heck." he said and the White team nodded to the orders, as Charlie pulled his jacket on with a stern look as he got ready then.

As after school the sextet headed for the restaurant. "Hey, I'd like to see the manager please, my name is Charlie Orion, Captain of the Eden Hall Mighty Ducks." he said and he nodded as he went to get him and he a minute later. "Yes Captain Orion, what can I do for you." he asked and Charlie crossed his arms. "I understand there was an Eden Hall tradition in Hockey, the Varsity treats the new J.V. to dinner?" he asked and his eyes narrowed as he answered him then.

"I'm afraid you been been tricked, there is no such tradition at the academy." he said and Charlie nodded sternly. "Yeah okay, so this was a cruel prank, alright with that, if they leave us to pay for dinner, whatever the cost maybe, we can pay 3/4's of it. The last is by helping your staff clean up for the night, before we go home." he said and they nodded. "That's fair, and we appreciate the help, Captain, we can do that, Friday?" he asked and Charlie nodded gently.

"Here's my idea Sir, after dinner, and we help clean up the mess done here, send the bill for everything you had to spend for this prank to the Headmaster. As they put it on the list of charges, the round about total for the bill would be 860, that's fine. As we can divide that by 10, so we each pay $90, and you get $400 in interest for said credit card. But we really are making that a tradition, once we become the Varsity." he said and they nodded, smiling gently then.

"Just send the bill to the board of directors, with the same message, 'Thanks for dinner, losers, the Warriors die, and the Ducks Fly.'." he said and the manager nodded. "Very well I can do that, but that is beyond cruel here, untrendy lowlifes, that's the last time. That we allow the Edina Hawks and in this restaurant, let me guess here right now in truth. This goes back to your remark now, Ducksworth, and this underlines your remark." he said and Charlie nodded

"Yeah, so Friday at 6:00, so after dinner, I take the check and the 14 of us split it between us, and we pay the last quarter off by cleaning up afterwards." he said and he nodded smiling. "Very well then, we appreciate the help now." he said and Charlie nodded. "See you Friday night." he said and they nodded as the 7 left the restaurant then. "Yeah your father is going to kill these idiots now." Russ said sternly and he nodded. "And there's the punchline." he said to him then.

As Orion arrived to pick them up. "Connie passed me the message and thank you for telling me where you were going to be now. But there's another definition to what I'm talking about, in why the captain never showed up for practice yet. As reason being you had to investigate something first, so what was that about exactly?" he asked and he explained that. "Riley gave us this story about a tradition in Eden Hall about the Varsity hockey team taking the J.V.."

"Now out for dinner, naming said club, I decided to investigate this, and the manager confirmed my suspicions there is is no such tradition, dad. They were going to take us out for dinner and leave us to pay for the check, but there's my punchline. If they can pay for going to a school like this, cars and fancy clothes, or just cruel practical jokes…" he said and Orion nodded. "Then just where is the money to help pay for a team mate's family member's medical bills now."

"So the Banks's left us a tip, and you went to investigate that remark, and not only do we have the money to afford this, we're making that tradition about to turn true, starting now. With the Varsity leaving, we're controlling the school now, next season and we're 1/5th off our time. And together, alright nicely done son, so how much is this bill going to be, as I come get you?" he asked and he nodded. "Estimated total 860, we just did $400 credit." he said and he nodded.

"Alright, Buckley and I are waiving the practical joke, so which is it, his fire ants or the monster blood prank exactly?" he asked and Charlie nodded. "Monster blood, but I only had to tick them off if Peter challenges them to a game…" he said and Orion nodded sternly. "The kid is asking for the reprimand from heck, you weren't even supposed to be playing anyway. And I got enough on these brats to have them shot now." he said sternly and Charlie nodded in agreement then.

"Any pain son, because it's been 3 days here now." he said and Charlie sighed. "A few twinges every now and again, but nothing I can't handle, I know I'm benched here. So guys, I'm telling you our plays from the bench now, Jesse and Terry get in on Sunday now." he said and the quintet nodded sternly then. "So 8 on 8, though they get in just as it turns from grudge match and right to a brawl, Uncle Jason is going to kill Peter for that." Averman said and Orion nodded.

"And so will I, Lester, I told you guys to stay away from those brats gamewise, only Peterson is not following orders right now, but you and Julie did me proud guys, I never been prouder of you. As we did this carefully as possible, but the Varsity bill is getting higher by the minute, by every practical joke, bur that blow to the chest, that crossed the line in our eyes. As adults, you never did anything, but defend yourselves, as nonviolently as possible here right now."

"Alright that message is being made loud and clear to the Varsity and the board right now, but if the club decided to destroy their membership. The credit is so high, it's going to take 15 years to pay off their bill, in all their cases." he said and Charlie nodded sternly, as they waited till that Friday night, to get in the last laugh, on the Hawks then…
