I know it has been a long time, but I had to finish Follow You first. It's also a lot harder to write when Punk is off TV…which looks like he will be again. I also have less time to write since getting married as there are always other things that take priority. AEW owns their wrestlers, WWE owns theirs, TNA owns theirs, I own Jessica. Enjoy!
Jessica's POV
"Oh god Phil, YES!" I cried out as he thrusted into me one final time. I rested my head on the guardrail of the balcony in an attempt to catch my breath and slow my heart beat down. I felt Phil lean down and kiss my back as he slid out of me. He leaned down to pull his bathing suit up before he helped me do the same. I stood up and he turned me around kissing me deeply.
"Good Morning Sweetheart." He said sweetly. I smiled up at him before pecking his lips again.
"I wasn't expecting you." I said honestly. What was supposed to be two full weeks of me and him enjoying our newly wedded bliss has only been about a week and a half of me and a little more than half of him. His phone was constantly ringing at all hours and he never once ignored it. I thought the point of leaving people in charge was so he could actually get a little break.
"I know, and you know how sorry I am, but…" he said trailing off, looking behind me instead of at me.
"But what?" I asked…my post sex bliss quickly slipping away…somehow he always had time for that.
"I can't tell you." He finished. Of course he can't.
"Typical." I said gently pushing him away and going to sit a the little table full of different breakfast dishes set up on the balcony. Most mornings I sat here looking at an empty seat.
"Jessica…" he started.
"No Phil. You said we were going to be equal partners…that this wouldn't be like my father's set up where I was always in the dark…especially when it came to who I was being forced to marry!" I regretted it the second I saw the hurt flash across his face, "Phil…" I tried…but it was too late…as quick as the hurt came, the crime boss showed up.
"Is that how you feel?" He asked gruffly, "You want to know all of the grizzly details? The people I've killed or ordered to be killed? The people I'm planning on killing…all for the sake of keeping you safe!" He finished his voice getting significantly louder. I flinched, "How about all of my men cleaning up YOUR family's mess? The ones who have died for the sake of you and your family! Is that what you want to know Jessica? Or is it the constant danger we're both in all the time? You want to know that because you'll never leave the house again!" Hot tears began to ran down my face. Not once have I ever been scared of Phil, but at this moment I'd swim home to get away from the man who stood before me now. I stood up and pushed past him back into the house. I grabbed my phone and ran out of our bedroom to one of the guest rooms locking the door behind me. I sat on the bed and frantically searched for flights that could get me home. I don't know how I'd get off Phil's island to an airport but I'd have to figure out a way later. I flinched again hearing Phil yell and glass shattering. He was without a doubt on the phone again and its not a good call.
I tried to block him out as I struggled to see through my tears. I covered my ears and shut my eyes when I heard more furniture crash to the floor. I had never seen him so angry. When I thought the worst was over I opened my eyes and leaned back on the bed taking deep breaths. As scary as he was, we were bound till death and that was something I knew he was capable of causing, but he would never do it to me. My thoughts were broken by the sound of hard rapid knocking at the door.
"Jessie open up." I heard him say. I stayed silent…I wasn't ready to talk to him.
"Jessie, please baby…I need you to open up." He tried again, a touch of desperation in his voice.
"I'm not ready." I said.
"Baby this isn't about us fighting, this is about us possibly dying in the next hour if we don't get out of here." He said. I shot up and went over to the door opening it slightly.
"Are you just saying that so I let you in?" I asked.
"Baby I would never lie about your safety. I know I'm your least favorite person right now, but we have to get out of here." He said pushing the door the rest of the way open and grabbing me.
"Wait, my phone!" I said pulling back.
"It has to stay, both of our lines aren't safe anymore." I looked into his eyes and though he seemed somewhat together there was panic in his green orbs.
"Phil…" I whispered. He leaned down and kissed me sweetly.
"I will never let anything happen to you, I love you." He said. His hand found mine and pulled me through the house. We stopped to get nothing as we ran towards the waiting both with Dean and Seth on it. Seth pulled the boat away from he dock and Phil began to bark orders.
"Alert the team, only use code." He said sternly. Dean nodded as he lifted a flip phone to his ear, "Seth, the plane is waiting?" He asked sharply.
"Ready and waiting to land at the airstrip where the helicopter is waiting." He said, eyes never leaving the ocean.
"Helicopter?" I asked softly. Phil turned around to look at me, his eyes softening.
"To bring you to the safe house baby." He said.
"We're not going home?"
"I am, you are not." He said. My chest tightened, we were going to be separated? "It's for your safety and I promise I'll be with you as soon as I can be." He said, reading my thoughts.
"I don't want to go alone." I whispered.
"You'll have Seth and I'll be there in a few days, a week tops…I just have to take care of some things." He said, bending down to where I was sitting. Tears rolled down my face as he leaned in and kissed my forehead. "You're my number one." He whispered, "If anything were to happen to you, I'd die." I gripped his arms and he moved himself to sit beside me. He pulled me into his lap and held me as I sobbed. We stayed like that the entire boat trip, with me holding on to him for dear life and he rubbing my back assuring me that it will all be okay. We stepped off the boat and on to a very different plane than the one we arrived on. This one was much smaller and less conspicuous. It was a short ride to where the helicopter was waiting and Phil carefully strapped me in as Seth got in the driver's seat. Phil climbed in next to me putting both of our headphones on.
"Sir, I thought Mrs. Brooks was going alone." He said very seriously.
"She's supposed to but I can't let you take her alone…not like this." He said. Seth nodded and took off.
"I was supposed to leave you here…but I can't do it." Phil told me, "I'm risking a lot here…you're a huge weakness of mine." He said giving me a small smile. He seemed much more relaxed now that we were far away from where we woke up this morning. He held my hand as the three of us flew in silence. We landed next to a small beach house and Phil unbuckled himself before helping me out and taking me into the small house. It was a two bedroom with a small living area attached to the kitchen. The house was stocked with basic necessities, including clothing for both of us. There was one bathroom that was positioned in the middle of the small home. Phil pulled me into the larger bedroom and closed the door. He opened the closet and pulled out another flip phone.
"This is your phone now. Only my new safer number is saved. You will never answer this phone unless it is me calling. If my name doesn't appear you don't answer it, understand?" He asked me. I nodded taking the phone from him. "You also cannot call anyone, not your friends, not your family, not even me."
"Why?" I asked horsely.
"Because I'll only call when it's safe." I nodded swallowing hard, I knew what was coming next. "I have to go." He said. I could only nod again, fresh tears streaming down my face.
"I'm sorry about this morning, I'm sorry about how our honeymoon is ending, I'm sorry I have to leave you, I love you Jessica…so much." He finished his voice slightly cracking.
"I love you too." Was all I got out before sobbing. He pulled me close and held me tightly. He leaned my head back and kissed me with all his strength. As quick as it started it ended, he pulled away and left me in the room. I turned to the window and watched him walk back to the helicopter. Just as he lifted himself into the pilot's seat he looked back at me one more time. Then his headphones went on and he took off.
Phil's POV
I shouldn't of looked back. I nearly killed myself flying away from the house because I couldn't see past my tears. I had to suck it up and harden up soon. If I didn't there would be no wife to come back to and no reason to live anymore. I distracted myself with thoughts on how Dixie found out about my wedding to Jessica. There's no way that could have gotten out unless someone told her. I doubt tempting her with Vince's men would deter her from ending my marriage before it started. As I approached the airstrip Dean's voice came in over the radio.
"You're clear to land boss." He said. I brought the helicopter down and exited walking over to him and the plane.
"Ready?" He asked.
"No." I said truthfully, "But I have to go."
"It will all be fine." He said following me on to the plane.
"It better be, or you all are dead." The two of us sat in silence as I tried to focus my thoughts on how it got out and how I planned on killing them…it definitely wouldn't be a quick death that's for sure. If anything happened to Jessica…I sighed. I was going to get nothing done if I kept focusing on her.
"Give me your burner." I said to Dean. He handed over wordlessly as I dialed Jessica's burner. If she listened to me she won't answer. I listened to the phone ring endlessly until the phone itself gave up. I smiled, good girl. I took my burner and called her. She answered after the first ring.
"Hello?" She spoke, the pain clear in her voice.
"You're such a good girl you know that?" I asked her. She laughed half heartedly.
"I knew you were testing me, no one would have called that fast." She said, a hint of humor in her horse voice.
"I'll have to keep testing you." I teased trying to keep it light. She did not even give me a chuckle, I sighed, "I know this is tough baby but it will be over soon." I said as she sniffled.
"I hope so, at home with my family this never happened." She said.
"Yes it did baby, you just never knew." I told her. I had been contacted countless times by Vince to bail them out. The last time, when I was given her, was the biggest save I had done.
"What?" She asked a bit shocked.
"I don't want to bring you in this more. The more you don't know the better. I have to go my love we can't stay on the lines too long." I told her.
"I love you." She said.
"I love you more." I said hanging up. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, burying my emotional side. I needed to bring up the cold hearted killer. We landed and I was immediately taken to my house where several guys were being medically tended to. Dixie double crossed us where we were picking up some products from over seas and several of my guys got hit.
"How many?" I asked Roman.
"7 shot, 2 dead." He said. Fuck.
"Where's the note?" I asked, immediately he pulled it out of his pocket.
"Give me the McMahon girl."
How the fuck did she find out? I crumpled the note and chucked it across my foyer.
"Find out who told her!" I screamed at Roman, "Or everyone here dies and it won't be because of the Carter's!" I went through my house to my office and slammed the door shut. One of these guys is feeding her info and I just have to find out who.
To be honest this chapter wrote itself. I wasn't sure where this was going, but its finally starting get tense! Who told Dixie about the marriage? Will Jessica and Phil both make it out alive? We'll see!
