Hey guys, sorry for the long wait. I realized in the first chapter that I said that Hiccup would arrive in Arendelle in chapter 2 when I actually just did the royal families introduction. To make up for that, here is the real chapter where Hiccup arrives in Arendelle. I hope you all enjoy it.
Disclaimer: I don't own HTTYD or Frozen
Question: do I HAVE to put that disclaimer thing for every chapter of every story I write or is that just optional?
(Morning on Berk)
Everyone in the village arrived at the arena, ready to see the village screw-up finally do something "right". Stoick called up to Hiccup's room to wake him up.
"Rise and shine son. It's time for you to kill the dragon." When there was no response, he became a little confused. "Hiccup?"
He climbed up the stairs to Hiccup's room and saw it totally empty. He was surprised as everything, from his sketches to his bedsheets were gone. The sight kind of scared him, though he'd never admit it.
"What in Thor's name?" he wondered out loud. He then saw an envelope on Hiccup's desk. He walked over to it and opened it up.
Dear Dad,
When you've read this, I will be long gone by now. I'm sorry, but I can't go through with killing the Nightmare. That night when I said that I couldn't and didn't want to fight dragons, I meant it. I refuse to fight a creature who is misunderstood. You could choose Astrid to kill the dragon since I'm not here, but that might not be possible. Another reason I left was because I was tired of living a lie and being the village screw-up. Ever since I was little, I was picked on, pushed around, etc. by everyone, minus Fishlegs, Gobber, and Gothi. And you barely paid any attention to me. When you put me with Gobber, he was more like a father than you ever were. Well no more, I'm going to find a new home. One where I'll be accepted. Farewell.
Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the III
Stoick dropped to his knees, not believing what he just heard. "Son."
He made his way outside where Gobber and the other teens were waiting.
"Stoick. What's the matter? Where's 'Iccup?" Gobber asked, not liking the look on his best friend's face.
He's gone Gobber." he said and they all gasped.
"What do you mean gone?" Stoick hands him the note and they all read it.
"Hiccup's gone. He's really gone." Astrid said in shock.
Suddenly, Spitelout came running over to the group. "Stoick, Stoick. All the dragons are gone!"
"Just when I thought this day couldn't get any worse." Stoick thought as he and the group rushed over to the arena. When they arrived, all they could find were a bunch of empty cages.
"How did they get out?" Snotlout asked.
"They didn't, Hiccup must've let them out." Stoick said.
"Are you sure chief?" asked Astrid.
"Aye, he said in his letter to have you kill the dragon, but that it might not be possible. What I want to know, is why?"
It has been a few weeks since Hiccup and Toothless left Berk with the dragons from the arena. He named the Nadder Stormfly, the Zippleback Barf (right head) and Belch (left head), the Nightmare Hookfang, the Gronkle Meatlug, and the Terror Sharpshot.
While traveling, he actually encountered a new dragon. It was purple and yellow, had pincers for hands, and had three tails with stingers at the end. Hiccup found out it was called the Triple Stryke. While resting the dragons on an island, Hiccup and Toothless came across a dragon fighting arena. They found out that it was dragons fighting dragons for the purpose of "entertaining" the vikings. Seeing it made his blood boil, so he and Toothless went in and started firing.
After freeing all the dragons, they all flew off except for the Triple Stryke. Turns out, according to the guy who ran the event, that the dragon was here ever since it was little, so it didn't know how to be free. The Triple Stryke wouldn't even let Hiccup and Toothless get close. Hiccup then got an idea when it heard its tail make a clicking noise before every attack. So, Hiccup did a Nadder call and shortly after, Stormfly came along. By clicking together two of her spines together, they were able to calm the dragon enough for Hiccup to earn its trust.
The Triple Stryke, now named Sleuther, joined Hiccup's team as they searched for a new place to call home.
(Present time)
After about a month of traveling, Hiccup and the gang were well outside the archipelago. That being said, Hiccup decided to land the dragons somewhere and ask someone where he was. It was early morning when they eventually came across a small wooden cabin in the woods with a sign that said "Wandering Oaken's Trading Post and Sauna".
"All right guys," he said to them, "try to stay out of sight, this won't take long." They all warbled in response.
Hiccup went inside and the first thing he heard was "Yoo hoo". He looked to his left and saw a man that could easily be bigger than his father. 'That must be Wandering Oaken,' he thought to himself.
"Welcome to Wandering Oaken's Trading Post and Sauna, how can I help you today?" Oaken asked.
"I'm not from around here." Hiccup said. "Can you tell me where I am?"
"You are in Arendelle, ya. The kingdom is just south of here."
"Do you know if and where I can buy land?"
"Oh ya, just talk to the land proprietor, Mr. Adam."
"Ok, thank you." And with the information he needed, Hiccup left the cabin, climbed onto Toothless, and flew off with the others.
(Scene break)
After hiding the dragons, Hiccup went to see Mr. Adams and he managed to buy a huge stretch of land, perfect for all the dragons. It was the farthest from the kingdom but that was ok because he rode a dragon. When he arrived, he noticed that it looked run down.
'Guess no one wanted it since it's so far away from the kingdom.' he thought. With the help of the dragons, he managed to fix up the house to make it suitable to live in. He also saw a barn on the land and decided that he would fix it up so the dragons would have a place to sleep. (Imagine the stables on Dragon's Edge) It was getting late, however, so he decided to start working on it tomorrow. For now, he was going for a night flight with Toothless.
(Arendelle)
King Agnarr was walking through the halls of his castle. It had been a few years since the incident and Anna and Elsa were separated. No matter how hard he and his wife tried, they just couldn't get Elsa's powers under control.
While he was thinking, he suddenly heard an explosion in the distance. Suddenly, a guard ran up to him in a panic.
"Your majesty, pirates are invading."
"Send all men to port, we must drive them away." Agnarr commanded.
"Yes sir."
As he ran off, Agnarr decided to help instead of sitting back and watching.
There were a lot more pirates than expected and the castle guards were being pushed back. Agnarr started to fear the worst.
'They just had to attack at night when we're most vulnerable.' he thought. 'We need a miracle.'
(A few minutes earlier)
Hiccup and Toothless were enjoying their night flight when they saw the trouble.
"Bud," he said, "we need to help, let's go back and get the others."
Toothless was one step ahead and raced back to the house for their friends.
(Present)
All hope had seemed lost. The guards were being overrun, the civilians were in panic, and defeat seemed certain.
As Agnarr closed his eyes and prepared for the worst, he suddenly heard a whistling sound, as did everyone else, Arendellian and pirates alike. The whistling got louder until suddenly, a purple ball of fire appeared out of nowhere and struck one of the ships, causing an explosion, and setting it ablaze.
Everyone was surprised and tried to look for whatever did that. Suddenly, they heard the whistling sound again and another ship was hit. Though the figure zoomed past, its outline while passing the fire was noticed by one of the pirates. "DRAGON!" he yelled.
Suddenly, a roar was heard. Everyone looked in the direction of the roar and saw a blazing dragon swoop in and breath its kerosene gel onto a couple of ships while using its flame jacket to burn the sails.
Before anyone could fully comprehend what was happening, a squawk, followed by a blue dragon flew in, snatching up multiple pirates and dropping them when it was high enough.
Next, a smaller dragon with a clubbed tail rammed itself into one of the ships, making a hole, and causing it to sink.
There were six ships left. A green, two headed dragon down, covering five of the ships with a green gas from the right head with the left head igniting it, causing yet another explosion.
The final ship tried to turn around and flee, only for the familiar whistling sound to be heard again, followed by the final ship being blown to smithereens.
Everyone looked in awe at the dragons fending off the pirates. Unfortunately, they were so focused on that that no one noticed the pirates leader sneaking up behind Agnarr with a few of his men and got the jump on the king. Everyone turned their attention to the scene and feared for the king as a sword was held against his throat. The leader smirked thinking he had regained the upper hand.
Everyone suddenly backed up, but not because of the hostage situation, but because of what was behind them. A sudden thud got the pirates attention. They all turned around and practically pissed themselves at what they saw.
Behind them was a purple and yellow dragon. It unwinded its three tails, aimed them at the pirates, and roared loudly in its face. The fear was enough to make all of the pirates, including the leader, pass out.
Agnarr was afraid that the dragon would attack him next. However, another whistle was heard, but this time, it was a human whistle. Everyone looked up and saw a hooded figure on the back of the black dragon that started the assault on the pirates. Following the human's gestures, all the dragons started moving out and followed the figure away from the kingdom.
(With Hiccup and the dragons)
"Great job gang." Hiccup said to his companions.
After the battle, Hiccup decided to leave in the opposite direction of the house in case someone decided to follow them.
Once he decided they were far enough, everyone took a long turn around the kingdom and went back home.
(Back with Agnarr)
Agnarr had just gotten back to the castle and his head was still wrapping around what just happened.
First, pirates invaded.
Second, dragons appeared.
Third, said dragons saved the whole kingdom from pirates.
And finally, there was a person riding on one of the dragons.
He was so wrapped up in his thoughts that he didn't notice his wife in front of him until he bumped into her.
"Agnarr, what happened? Are you alright? I heard explosions?" She was practically hyperventilating and bombarding him with questions.
"Iduna, calm down." he said. "Everything's fine. The pirates have all been taken into custody."
"Daddy?" a young voice said.
Agnarr and Iduna looked down and saw their youngest daughter, Anna.
"Anna!. What are you doing out of bed?"
"I heard the explosions and I was scared." she said softly.
Her parents looked at her with softened gazes, understanding that with noises like those, no one would be able to sleep.
Before they could do anything else, a guard ran up to them. "Your majesty, we've locked up the pirates, but what about the dragons?"
Iduna and Anna could not believe their ears.
"Dragons!" They said in unison.
Agnarr sighed. 'Clearly there's no getting out of this one.' He thought. "Yes, there were a bunch of dragons. Six to be exact. If it weren't for them, we would've lost."
"Why would a bunch of dragons come to our aid?" Anna asked.
Agnarr figured that since she found out this much, he may as well tell her. "It might have something to do with the person riding one of the dragons.
Anna and Iduna stared at him in shock. "Someone was riding a dragon?" Iduna asked.
"Yes. It seems that he's able to control them somehow. When the pirates were defeated, he whistled to the other dragons and flew off with all of them in tow."
At this point, Anna ended up fainting from the big surprise. Iduna walked over, picked her up, and turned to her husband.
"What will we do about them?" she asked him.
Agnarr thought for a moment. "I'm not sure," he said. "However, we should be grateful that they showed up. Otherwise, we would've lost Arendelle. We'll try to figure something out in the morning."
Iduna and the guard, who was still there, nodded in agreement and left. Agnarr was left to his own thoughts.
'The person looked like a child, a teenager at best. How was he able to control all of those dragons?'
Little did he know that tomorrow, would be the encounter of a lifetime.
There. Another chapter.
Sorry for the long wait. With college and everything, I kept forgetting to upload new chapters for not just this story, but all my other ones as well. I will try to be more productive in my Fanfiction work.
Until next time.
See ya, probably wanna be ya.
